This document defines and describes various camera shots including extreme wide shots to establish locations, close ups to show emotions through facial expressions, extreme close ups to focus on body parts, medium two shots to show conversation between two people, wide shots to establish scenes, point of view shots to see from a character's perspective, low angles to show dominance, over the shoulder shots for interactions, medium shots to show people and context, and medium close ups to show details without getting too close.

1. Extreme Wide shot- an extreme wide shot is
used to establish the location.
Close up – a close up shot is used to show a
person’s emotions, through their facial
expressions.
Extreme close up – extreme close ups are
used so that you can focus on certain body
parts.
Medium two shot – This shot can be used to
show conversation between two people, so
that you don’t have to keep cutting between
them, or to show two people looking at the
same thing beyond the camera.
Wide Shot – A wide shot establishes were
the scene is taking place.
Point of View – A POV is used to put the
audience into the characters shoes. Used to
show the world through another person’s
perspective.
Low angle – to show a person’s dominance,
power and/or authority. Could be used to
make the audience feel intimidated.
Over the shoulder (OS) - an over the
shoulder shot is used when two actors are
interacting face to face.
Medium Shot – It is used to show people in
the context of the background. Also used
when the actor is speaking or giving
information.
Medium close up- a medium close up is used
to show something in detail, without getting
uncomfortably close.
