Searle s Systems Reply
In anticipation of possible replies to his findings, Searle explained the possible arguments against his
Chinese room thought experiment and replied to them. In one of these arguments, Searle explains
what he calls the Systems Reply. In this reply, although the man in the Chinese room himself is unable
to understand Chinese, the system as a whole, the man, the prompting screen, the rule book, etc., does
understand. In rebuttal, Searle simply supposes that the man internalizes all of the knowledge of the
transition from the questions in Chinese to the answers in Chinese. The man, as a system, is now able
to hear the Chinese characters prompted to him and respond based off the rule book that he
memorized. Searle argues that this eliminates ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The system has proven its ability to identify different symbols, what they mean, what to respond with
and ultimately responding. In this way, it is possible for the man in the box to have endless
conversations with endless native Chinese speakers without their knowledge that he does not
understand Chinese. Although the man in the box does not understand Chinese, the system has
demonstrated the ability to understand it. In this, the man in the box does not understand Chinese, nor
does any other singular part of the room. However, when all parts of the system work together, the
entire system can mimic the understanding of Chinese. Chinese speakers (all speakers for that matter)
manipulate symbols in a formal system to communicate, just as the system demonstrates the ability to
do. The formal manipulation of symbols constitutes an understanding of the symbols, the syntax and
the rules that follow. This directly shows that the computer could have understanding as it has the
knowledge and the ability to manipulate symbols in speaking

In January 2012 as he investigated the challenges in the current production process, he met most of
key departments and work centres by touring the factory.
Industry Overview
Bayonne Packaging, Inc is in the paper packaging industry. In the 1980s and early 1990s companies in
the consumer goods industry start to look for a greater impact with their promotional materials and
star to implement their promotional budget to the package itself instead of print media and broadcast
forms. This led to a rapidly growth on the paper packaging industry. Also, additional customer market
segments made a quick impact in a crowded marketplace due to the explosive growth of software
packaging. These factors give good reason for the growth in sales from 10 million in 1982 to 32
million in 2001.
New challenges were faced with the bursting of the dot com bubble and when software sales and
distribution moved from CDs to the Internet, but Bayonne dealt well this challenges by adopting a
strategy of diversification into new markets.
Process Analysis
To make some recommendations concerning the production process of Bayonne Inc., we need to do
the process analysis, in order to be able to closer understand how the production flows through the
different work centres work and what kind of problems and inefficiencies arise from this process.

Aeneas And Dido. Aeneas Is The King Of The Trojans, Who
Aeneas and Dido
Aeneas is the king of the Trojans, who is also the son of Anchises and Venus. His fate is that he would
build the land of Rome. This fate is tested by the interference of the gods, Juno in particular. Juno is
the queen of the gods and held in high respects in the city of Carthage. As Juno holds a desire to
establish Carthage as the reigning city, [she] pits herself against fate itself, which ordained that the
descendants of the Trojans will conquer Carthage and rule the world (Syed, 108). The one to lead the
descendants from Troy that would build Rome was Aeneas. This created Juno s distaste in him and
does anything in her power to prevent Aeneas from fulfilling his fate of building Rome. However, this
is only one of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Book 1 of The Aeneid , Aeneas endures a storm that was created by Juno, causing him and his
comrades to become stranded, as he was traveling from Troy to Italy. As of now, the object of love for
Aeneas is his country and for its growth and success. Aeneas lands on the shores of Carthage and this
is where his focus of love is shaken and tested. While searching in the woods, Aeneas meets a young
girl, who is disguised and actually his mother Venus. She tells Aeneas the background story of the
ruler of Carthage and how everything came to be. She also reassures Aeneas that his missing ships,
along with his other comrades, are safe and to continue the path into the city. Once Aeneas enters the
city and observes the progress of the developing city, he is ecstatic. This encounter shows how his
love for country is very focused. Instead of focusing on the individuals that may have been roaming
around the city as an object of love, he views the whole city, which was still in progress, as an object
of love. Aeneas goes and explores the queen s temple to come across scenes etched of his comrades
during the Trojan War. Aeneas speaks to Achates, who was one of his companions that survived the
storm, about these scenes along the walls and while feeding his spirit on empty, lifeless pictures, /
groaning low, the tears rivering down his face / as he sees once more the fighters circling Troy (Virgil,

The People Of Judah Were Faced With Many Difficult Decisions
The people of Judah were faced with many difficult decisions as the Babylonians gathered outside the
gates of Jerusalem. Their existence had been threatened before by the Assyrians and God had saved
them before. But this time seemed different. The city of Jerusalem is corrupt and dirty and the people
of Judah are unfaithful and misguided. The help of God which destroyed the much larger Assyrian
army will not be so forthcoming this time. As the people search for a solution, they are presented with
various opinions and predictions from different people. There are prophets, priests, and kings who all
claim to know the truth and claim to be the help that the people of Judah so desire. The Judahites need
to navigate all of these predictions and all of the forecasts. They can let history be their guide, they can
participate in critical arguments, and they can consider each point carefully. But in the end each
Judahite must decide where their allegiance will lie and if it will help keep them alive. In the game,
there were resolutions proposed to determine who to listen to and which story was most agreeable.
Each voting member of the Judahite community was faced with a few basic questions. Were the
prophets really sending a truthful message of God, or are they doomsayers looking for attention? Were
the priests examples of piety and righteous life, or do they take advantage of their position for material
gain? Was the king all powerful and inviolable as a descendent of David, or

The Importance Of The Relevance Of The Data
The importance of the relevance of the data has been identified since the very early work in context
aware ubiquitous systems. Despite of its importance few works have been carried out to quantify the
QoC and ensure the quality of the information on which the decisions and actions of contextaware
systems are based. Moreover, many decision support techniques are insufficient to address the runtime
uncertainty in the context information as they do not assess the QoC in an end to end fashion. We
formulate the related work into two parts: 1) QoC attributes and modeling aspects
2) Runtime decision support addressing uncertainty
A. QoC attributes and modeling aspects
QoC attributes and their modeling comes into play to capture the uncertainties in context data. A well
designed model is a key assessor to the quality of the context. Krause and Hochstatter [5] discussed
the challenges in modeling the
QoC and its usage. Several QoC models emerged but most of the QoC models were not properly
quantified according to the
QoC requirements. Castro et al. [6] investigated the accuracy of a location sensing service was
compromised. Ranganathan et al. [7] used predicate and probabilistic logic to assign confidence
values from 0 to 1 for every type of context. Dey et al. [1] suggested that mediation with the user can
help to reduce the uncertainty. QoC is modeled as meta data where additional information about the
quality of the context source is utilized to capture the uncertainty. Krause and

Naval Aviation Is It s Dangerous, Unpredictable,...
Sadly, there are a few downsides to naval aviation. The career takes a longer time to train than most
other jobs, due to the high responsibilities that a naval aviator has to take. In order to be successful and
enjoy the job, a naval aviator must have charismatic and ideal qualities to endure the hardships. One of
the disadvantages to naval aviation is that it s dangerous, unpredictable, and requires a lot of time
commitment. Naval pilots have unstable futures they can be deployed to war anytime anywhere, leave
their family, or even die in battle. Thus, these unpredictable paths cause naval aviators to make a lot of
sacrifices, whether it be moving a lot, working strange and irregular hours, being oversea for lengthy
durations of time, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are many personal qualities and talents that can help the young and aspired naval aviators.
According to Careers in Focus: Government, personality traits include being athletic, conventional,
and organized (Ferguson). One of the most important characteristics is being motivated, inspired, and
determined. Motivation is what drives naval aviators to do their best, to force them to wake up every
morning and work hard. Curiosity is also a very important quality, as naval aviators spend a lot of time
in the sky looking over the world and travel a lot, so having a curious mindset keeps them from
getting bored. Naval aviation often involves a counterphobic urge as one must learn to enjoy an
innately terrifying activity (Mittauer 4). Also, being responsible and honest is an important part of the
career. Naval aviators need to be extremely careful when flying; if they forget anything in the
slightest, it may result in severe injury for them and others. Moreover, naval aviators must love their
job: protecting the country and representing the nation with their flying skills. One must accept
implications of combat flying (e.g., being killed, killing enemy and civilians) (Mittauer 6). This is
what sets naval aviators apart from typical careers in the modern world today. To start off in the career
of a Navy pilot, one must get a bachelor s

Dystopian Novels In Gerry Canva s Green Planet
Gerry Canvas s claim from the novel Green Planets, the sorts of systemic global changes that are
imminent, or already happening, and [begin] to imagine what our transformed planet might eventually
be like for those who will come to live on it (16 17), are totally accurate. It also mentions that the
genres that fall under the label of fantastic, including YA dystopias are extremely useful for the 21st
century because they can imagine and depict what the future of humanity might be like. One, the
classification of the general population by one s jobs and the set of rules one follows are based on the
teaching of ones parents and influential society as the students in the YA Dystopia course saw in the
film Divergent directed by Neil Burger. Two, the lies and deceit the kids in the 21st century tell the
parents or other family members is high. The roles of society class and power are all major roles that
are being played in the decision of those kids as one has viewed in the novel Matched by Ally Condie.
Three, in the novel Feed written by Matthew Tobin Anderson, individuals read that the setting of the
novel was in the near future with the technology being ahead of the current time period but not too off
track from the direction humanity is taking with the advancements. ... Show more content on

##tag s Catalysts In Guy Montag, By Ray Bradbury
Montag s Catalysts In the world of Guy Montag, a Fireman, firemen burn books, they start fires rather
than put them out. His world is filled with superficial relationships; media designed to control and
numb people, his society destroys the dangerous free thinkers. Montag enjoys his place in his world.
His job makes him feel good, like he is a protector of his world:
It was a special pleasure to see things eaten, to see things blackened and changed. With the brass
nozzle in his fists, with this great python spitting its venomous kerosene upon the world, the blood
pounded in his head, and his hands were the hands of some amazing conductor playing all the
symphonies of blazing and burning to bring down the tatters and charcoal ruins of history. (Bradbury)
In Montag s world independent thoughts are dangerous and he is part of the control system, he burns
the source of the dangerous ideas, books. Against this bleak world there are three catalysts that
radically change Montag. A young girl named Clarisse, his boss Captain Beatty, and an old teacher
Professor Faber. These three people bring love, hate, and friendship into his life and cause him to
radically rethink his world.
On Montag s walk home from work one evening he meets a young 17 year old girl named Clarisse.
Through a series of questions, actions, and untimely death she causes Montag to examine his life.
Clarisse asks Montag Do you ever read any of the books you burn? (Bradbury 1). This simple
question plants a

The Problem with Immgration to the United States Essay
The Problem with Immgration to the United States
The first move stopping immigration decided by Congress was a law in 1862 restricting American
vessels to transport Chinese immigrants to the U.S. The Alien Contract Labor Laws of 1885, 1887,
1888, and 1891 restricted the immigration to the U.S. of people entering the country to work under
contracts made before their arrival. Alien skilled laborers, under these laws, were allowed to enter the
U.S. to work in new industries. By this time anti immigrant felling rose with the flood of immigrants
and in this period the anti Catholic, anti foreign political party the Know Nothings, was already born.

which can expand businesses to other fields of the world. Also giving people a more understanding of
other cultures. Lowers the cost of products produced in the U.S. that we buy. If the businesses can
produce products and services at a low price keeping there overhead low, then we as a consumer will
also pay a lower price. Most illegals are skilled workers and helps run the economy. Other countries
economies are also being helped. The workers bring money to their families out side of the U.S. which
in most cases the U.S. dollar has a higher value than their own. Most people disagree saying the cons
of this issue out way the pros. Here are some of the cons to this hideous problem. Illegal immigrants
pay no tax. If they pay no taxes then how can we as a country pay for public services we as well as
they do. Sending money out of our economy and sending it to their families abroad. If money is taken
out of our economy it causes a monetary problem. this can cause an inaccurate account of money in
circulation, which might cause inflation. Lower wages; if an illegal is willing to work for under the
minimum wage then the employer will not pay more for the job to any other employ. In fact might
higher only illegals and take away jobs form legal residents who are willing to work. When illegals
come to this country they do not get tested for diseases that might infect the population. Which can

Filipino Immigration History
The Filipinos existence in the United States is way beyond the word illegal nor alien. However, one
can rarely enter into a discussion about Filipino immigrants without hearing the term illegal alien. As a
Filipino immigrant who legally migrated to the United States, I think such term is outright offensive
and dehumanizing, regardless of its political correctness. Furthermore, as a Filipino American living
in this country, I feel it is my responsibility to correct such term; however, before I can correct such
misconception about my fellow Filipinos, I needed to learn about our story and how the Filipino
Immigration in America began. So I traced our history, and in my research, I focused solely on the

Such changes led to the third wave of Filipino immigration between the year 1945 1965. Filipinos
from the Philippines joined the U.S. Navy to battle against the Japanese. They were permitted to join
the navy because they were so called Nationals, meaning they were not American citizens, nor were
they undocumented migrants. In the Navy, many Filipinos were appointed as Designated TN ,
commonly known as Steward Men. As a steward man, a Filipino National in the U.S. Navy does more
of a domestic job such as cleaning, cooking instead of combating in the battlefield. Despite their
status, the Filipinos fought side by side with the Americans against the Japanese for freedom. Others
contributed by acting as civilians involved in the mobilization forces throughout the war. Toward the
end of the war, the Filipinos had earned the acknowledgment and profound respect of the American
public. The Filipinos reclaimed their dignity after many years of discrimination and racism. The 4th
wave of the Filipino migration began after the passing of the Immigration Act of 1965 and continues
to the present day. This law allowed the entry of as many as 20,000 immigrants annually. Today, with
a total population of more than 1.4 million in 1990, Filipinos compose the second largest Asian
American group and the second largest immigrant population in the United States (The Asian

Online Music On The Internet
I will choose to evaluate the topic You, the D.J. (online music movies to the cloud) which is written by
Sasha Frere Jones. A D.J. or ˜Disk jockey is someone that conducts a program of recorded music on
the radio, television or at clubs and other dance halls. They introduce and play CD s or records on
record players. The history of the disc jockey actually begins in the nineteenth century when Thomas
Edison invents the phonograph, the precursor to the record player. Before, the only way to enjoy
music is by going to a live performance or making it yourself. With the phonograph, people could now
listen to their favorite music from the comfort of their homes but I believed that now a day people like

hours a week that an average American spends listing to music, only three of it is stuff you own. The
rest is radio. So I read the book I found that in this essay, people had different media to listen the
songs through internet like Pandora. Pandora Internet radio, often known simply as Pandora is an
automated music recommendation service and custodian of the Music. We can add variety by
suggesting what other artists would like to hear. Pandora will briefly pause its streaming for a
commercial or two from its sponsors feature that can be disabled by upgrading to a premium account
for a nominal fee I think so. I came to know that the most popular alternative to the broadcast model is
on demand that is Spotify which was Swedish company. One of the biggest demand player is MOG, a
new service that offers a wide array of listening the option and also less expensive, and the highest
digital quality which I think is good and become a D.J. our self.
A friend and I was discussing the merits of the streaming music service. Pandora and Spotify. I am a
longtime Pandora subscriber. My friend uses Spotify and thinks I should, too.
Both services have free and paid accounts. Free users get ads. Paid users don t have to endure ads, and
the stream quality is better. The two services do differ. Let s look at the paid versions. Pandora has a

The Jewish Community Of Today
The Jewish community of today believe that the Pharisees of Jesus time have transformed into a group
called rabbinic Judaism after the destruction of the temple in 70 C.E. They are believed to be the
Rabbi s of today, and are living proof, that they all were not against Jesus.
Today, all major branches of Judaism claim at least some affinity with rabbinic Judaism of centuries
gone by, and perceive Judaism as issuing not simply from the Hebrew Bible but also from the
interpretation of those Scriptures by the Pharisees and their successors, the rabbis (Cook, M. J. p.
441).
With this in mind, it is believed that we can get a better understanding of the Pharisees and Scribes of
when Jesus walked the earth. By using the Gospels and the rabbinic writings one could get a clear
picture of this group according to Dr. Cook. There is one account in the Gospel of John were one
Pharisee questions Jesus and is trying to understand who Jesus is and what message is he bringing
them.
Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. This man came to Jesus
by night and said to him, Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do
these signs that you do unless God is with him (John 3:1 2).
Nicodemus mentions that he is not the only one, and must mean that other Pharisees and Scribes did
believe that Jesus was from God. They most likely thought Him to be a prophet and not the Messiah
because he did not come and rescue them from their captures.

The Big Issue of Piracy
Piracy
Piracy is a big issue in the gaming industry and is happening all the time and companies are trying
their best to get rid of this issue. The problem with trying to get rid of this issue is that there will
always be people figuring out loopholes in the defense of piracy.
There are some smart people who make a lot of money pirating items such as Movies for making
money. There are people who have made millions of dollars using this illegal way to steal what is not
theirs. Most of the time piracy does not impact the consumer because the most popular form of piracy
is downloading music. People pirate items for to get a cheaper price out of things or to sell to another
person for a higher price then what they pirated it for. If a company s product is being Pirated one
solution they might try is to stop making new products for release or they might take disciplinary
action and get the police involved. Pirating is a very scummy way to make money and it really hurts
the company that made the product. Piracy is not good for the economy and it hurts more than you can
imagine. The people that use piracy are usually very poor and doing it to make money to support
themselves and their family. I ve seen my friend illegally download music and it really made me sad
because I know in the end my friend is going to get hurt in one way or the other. Piracy can happen in
many forms but usually happens as a video recording of a famous movie or a D.V.D. some ways to

Research Paper On Kickboxing
Most people are discouraged from hitting others; I, however, was taught how to throw a punch
properly. I started kickboxing when I was 15 years old, and I fell in love with it immediately. I
relished the feeling of pushing my body past its limits and feeling my muscles complain the next day
as validation of my hard work. As a kid I had never played team sports like most of my friends did;
while they had soccer practices I stayed home and read books, because my mom taught me to cherish

Vitas Strengths
Superhuman Strength: Vitas is very powerful when he wants to be. His strength can sometimes be tied
to his anger, becoming stronger the more he gives into his rage. Either way, he makes for a formidable
opponent if you re his enemy. Vitas does not use this power often; instead he prefers to use his own
strength to fight. He only uses this if he s enraged enough, or if it s a drastic measure. Healing factor:
Vitas is able to heal and recover from injuries such as gunshots, gashes, broken bones, stabbing
wounds, burns, and bite wounds. The speed of regeneration is usually dependent on how severe his
injury is. Some injuries cannot be healed with this power; however, instead he must rest just like a
human. Flight: Vitas has the potential to fly he just has to learn how to. Right now, he is dependent on
the Miracle of Flight, granted by goddesses Palutena and Viridi. There is a downside to this the
Miracle of Flight only lasts 5 minutes. If this time limit is surpassed, Vitas wings will catch fire,
proving fatal to his life. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

His brother, Vlad, is much more experienced with these. Therefore, he is not able to do other things
that fully fledged Nephilims can, e.g. healing, empathy, and more. Hunted: Some Nephilim are viewed

Hellenistic Culture
Alexander the Great died and Hellenistic culture began. The Hellenistic time period was Greek like
and embodied many of the traditional Greek values, while modernizing the Middle East. During the
Hellenistic Period, art, entertainment and athletics flourished. Many temples were built but the
customs were altered to become modern and enjoyable. Stadiums and Gymnasiums were also
fabricated, which induced a social aspect to the polis . The agora, public alters, and libraries were new
and exciting additions to the Hellenistic Period which united the people and gave the people more
opportunities. These attractions began to pop up all over the Hellenistic world, whether the Jews

One of Judaism s crucial values is circumcision which contradicts with the Hellenistic value that the
male body is perfect without any modifications. Because of that, Jews had to decide whether to
circumcise or participate in the sports in the public stadiums. Many anti hellenistic Jews living in
Jerusalem believed that they should be speaking Hebrew or Aramaic and not Greek. With Hellenism,
the Greek language became more prevalent and the Bible even got translated into Greek instead of
Hebrew and was called the Septuagint. Hellenizing was overall controversial topic and each side
believed their beliefs were there only beliefs. Eventually Antiochus the Fourth begins to rule, and he is
a harsh ruler who does not accept the Anti hellenistic Jews. He transforms all the Jewish altars to
Greek altars, which meant that only Greek sacrifices could be made. The Anti hellenistic Jews grew
angrier and angrier, and eventually the Maccabean rebellion and the Civil War began. The Hellenistic
Jews and the Seleucids fought against the Maccabim/Hashmonaim. The maccabim utilized gorilla
warfare because they were a much smaller force, and that was the only way they had a chance of
winning the war. After two years, of brutal fighting the Seleucids give up and say that Maccabim can

The Shawshank Redemption And American Psycho
Psychology by definition is the scientific study of the human mind and its functions, especially those
affecting behavior in a given context. Every brain is biologically and chemically different, and how
these chemicals react in your brain and body can have an effect on the person s characteristics. The
two movies that I chose to watch were The Shawshank Redemption and American Psycho. In The
Shawshank Redemption there is a clear case of a mentally healthy character and in American Psycho
there is a very definitive sign of a character with a mental disorder. In The Shawshank Redemption,
Andy Dufresne is portrayed by Tim Robbins and in American Psycho, Patrick Bateman is played by
Christian Bale. The Shawshank Redemption came out in 1994 and has been named one of the best
movies to be produced. Shawshank provides a display of a mentally healthy character, Andy Dufresne,
who was convicted for murder charges on his wife and her lover. Andy is sentenced to two
consecutive life sentences, so needless to say he will be spending a long time in prison. Before Andy
was convicted, he was a hot shot banker who made a surplus of money but people also claim he fell
out of love with his wife. Not showing his wife enough attention led her to have an affair and then
allegedly Andy found out and murdered the both of them. The only problem with Andy being
sentenced to prison for the murder is the fact that he did not actually do it and he was falsely convicted
for a crime he did

The period covered in this book is a very short one, covering the building of the Atlantic wall in little
detail, and in great detail, the few days before D Day and the initial attacks on D Day itself. On the
German side Hitler has ordered the building of a massive Atlantic Wall to stop any Allied attackers
from landing on the western seaboard, from the Kirkenes to the Pyrenees. After defeat in Africa, Field
Marshall Erwin Rommel is sent to inspect and oversee the wall s completion. After seeing the horrible
state of the wall Rommel worked to complete the wall as quickly as possible. He had the German and

Rabbit Proof Fence Film Techniques
The picture Rabbit Proof Fence directed by Phillip Noyce is the true tale about three aboriginal girls
called Molly, Daisy and Gracie who get taken from their mother to soon return back over a long

taken from their parent so that they could be purified into a more white generation. During this picture
various audio and visual effects are given to display the feelings and emotions of the characters

Sound effects are essential to this film as its sets the scene of the outback desert of Australia. When the
main characters Molly, Daisy and Gracie are traveling across Western Australia to get o Moore River
there isn t any music but there are many sound effects such as trains going along the tracks and a car
traveling across dirt roads. Music has also made you in this movie feel the emotions of Molly, Daisy
and Gracie when they are being taken into their dormitory at the Moore River Training Camp. During
the girls stay at the Moore River Training Camp there wasn t much background music but it is
replaced with a lot of various needed sound effects. Speaking by the host of the Moore River
workers/nuns is the most common sound effects throughout this scene. To show the expectations the
girls are spoken to many times especially when they are at breakfast as the nuns lead the prairies and
the children follow this shows how much the children are being pushed into the British colonist way

What Is The 101 Damatian Dogs Essay
Once upon a time, a Disney film called 101 Dalmatians was released in the early 90 s, and it triggered
the demand of these black and white spotted dogs. Kids nagged their parents to buy them one. Sure
enough, the parents gave in, and were said to be in total panic to acquire these puppies, according to

What makes these dogs special, aside from their spots, of course? Let s get to know more about these

The Dalmatian is a medium sized dog with a sleek, muscular body and a graceful appeal. Males reach

Leslie Isom, a spokeswoman with the Humane Society of the United States, said it was exactly what

Nutrient Content When it comes to water out of the tap or the basic water bottle there isn t much to it
when it comes to nutrient content. It is made up of zero calories while having some sodium as a
natural electrolyte. This is why for the most part a person can drink as much water as they want.
Gatorade on the other hand at a serving size of 8 ounces is 63 calories. The calories are mostly made
up of added sugar at 13 grams. However, it does give more of a recharge of electrolytes with 95mg of
sodium which makes it a great beverage for hydrating directly after or during a workout. Furthermore,
PowerAde is similar to Gatorade as it has about 80 calories per 12 FL oz. Calories come from mostly
sugar at 21 grams. Additionally, PowerAde supplies more sodium as well as potassium another great

Just from the start Ken Carter showed how great his personality really is. Right when he stepped into

Ken Carter treats everyone the same. When his son joined the team and was late for training, he got

There are a couple of possible payoffs in this scenario. First of all, my sister got attention, and she
probably had a feeling that she justified her inability to find time to learn to drive and get her G2.
Another, possible payoff was that my sister ended up feeling superior and smart while seeing me feel
dumb and disappointed. 3. The three perspectives of stress are: stress in relation to stressors, stress in
relation to response, and stress in relation to an interaction. According to the perspective that stress is
associated with the stressor, stress is mainly caused by exterior or interior stressors and a person s
perception has little to do with the amount of stress inflicted on the individual. The response
perspective of stress, highlights that it is not the stressor that determines stress, but it is rather
determined by how a particular person responds emotionally or reacts to a given situation. In the
interactional perspective of stress, stress is determined by an individual s perception of a stressor or
event. In other words, between the stressor and the response is a cognitive stage in which the
individual cognitively accesses the situation based on factors such as, values, beliefs, and perceived
controllability. Albert Ellis, for example believed that much of the stress of mankind is the result of
irrational beliefs people hold (Falikowski, 2012). For example, many people hold the irrational belief

Was The 2003 Invasion Of Iraq A Legitimate Humanitarian...
Was the 2003 invasion in Iraq a legitimate humanitarian intervention?
Whether the 2003 invasion in Iraq was a legitimate humanitarian intervention or not, is two folded.
For instance, when viewed in the perspective of protecting the Iraqi citizens from the inhumane reign
that they were subjected to, the invasion can said to be legitimate humanitarian intervention. On the
other hand, when the invasion is seen in terms of its aftermath such as the destruction caused by it, the
unpredictability nature of the war (Lambeth, 2013), and its effect that undermined the motives or
rather the expectations of the Iraqi citizens, since it was associated with mass killings, then the
invasion will not be regarded as a legitimate humanitarian intervention.
The non legitimacy of the humanitarian intervention is evident whereby, the invasion in Iraq by the
US, Great Britain along with other coalition forces turned out to be disastrous. This is because, it
aggravated the humanitarian crisis and also had a major political, military, legal, economic and
strategic consequences. Even though Saddam Hussein did not set any fires to the Iraqi oil fields or use
the alleged weapons related to mass destruction, the war had numerous serious results that ranged
from death along with destruction in Iraq, and also led to regional instability (Wehrey, 2010), despite
the fact that itdid not take long.
When it comes to the aggravation of the humanitarian crisis, the war led to population displacement

The Possibility Of Evil Short Story
We all like to look at things that appeal to us. But sometimes appearances can deceive us: such as a
good deal going online until you re ready to pay and they hit you with shipping and handling taxes and
therefore raising the price dramatically. Or a movie that has a good trailer but once you watch it as a
result the movie was not as good as it appeared to be. It s good to notice the bigger picture and to
analyze it in more depth, rather than judge it but it s first sight. The main characters in the short stories
Lamb to the Slaughter , by Roald Dahl, The Possibility of Evil , by Shirley Jackson, could have
adapted from this lesson. In Lamb to the Slaughter Mrs. Maloney is this sweet, loving and caring wife
who loves her husband dearly, but once he came back from work he hit her with heartbreaking and
bad news: which sets her off. In The Possibility of Evil Miss Strangeworth appears to be this kind and
respected elderly lady, but behind close doors she is completely different. Just because we see
something to appear to be good doesn t mean that it can t reveal it s true colors in a blink of an eye. Or
that it could be the total opposite of your initial though. In both stories, the reader discovers that even
though something may appear to be one thing, it could turn out to be something completely different.
In The Possibility of Evil, Shirley Jackson gives us a character who may seem to be the town s most

Why Sexist Language Matters Kleinman
Summary One/10 In her essay Why sexist language matters (Qualitative Sociology, 2002), Kleinman
argues that sexist language is a social problem because masculine generic language has many
stereotypically masculine terms and expressions that affecting ways that people are speaking that has
consequences and can be eliminated. One of the examples, is when masculine term is used in language
by many people to refer to women s occupation titles, like, chairman and postman. When women are
called chairman it makes women less in society than men. The demonstration that use of feminine
generic language could be used to refer to both women and men, such as, chairwoman, would hurt
men s feelings because it makes men less in society than women. The use of masculine generic
language becomes a sexist language when makes women less in society than men and excludes

during middle adulthood. Erickson believes that when a person reaches middle adulthood, they

everything I had done in the sport and all of my accomplishments. He was impressed being at such a
young age not receiving or getting the opportunities to achieve what I had achieved. Neither of his
parents had played baseball. His father had played cricket and tennis and his mom ran track. Finally
we arrived at the baseball field, Kyle eager to learn about the sport. The grass looked beautifully rich
and the sun gleamed on the field.
First I taught him how to catch and throw the ball, which he picked up surprisingly very quick. He had
a great arm for a 7 year old! From there I taught him how to hit. We worked off the tee at first and then

given political and economic conditions, opportunities and barriers. It helps to evaluate the position,
potential and direction for a business. Despite being a strong brand, Coca Cola is influenced by the

Persuasive Essay On The Use Of Photosop
Photoshop has changed drastically through the ages since its first appearance in 1988. From editing
minimally to major creations with the talent and knowledge of how to. Today it is used in the making
of pictures with a sense of perfection. But how perfect is perfect? Many of today s photoshopped
pictures, especially fashion and beauty photos, give off the sense of unrealistic and false body
examples. Photoshopping on beauty and fashion images should be banned or at least controlled in a
way, for advertising unrealistic measures and putting that type of perfect on a single body.
While Photoshop is used to portray improbable standards, it can be used for many good things.
Photoshop helps get rid of unwanted blemishes and used for touch ups. Many photographers mainly
use photoshop for the finishing touches, making it their own creation. Although photoshop is deemed
evil, ...raising awareness about why it is bad to alter images in mainstream ads and media (especially
print) oversimplifies the problem, (Perle). Elizabeth Perle believes the problem with photoshop is that
it is being taken way too seriously and magnifying too big. Aside from that, she says that taking away
photoshop will put even more pressure on, ...models and performers who are still under an enormous
amount of pressure to go to enormous lengths to make their bodies look a certain way, (Perle). She
connects her statement with research stating that ...magazines and photoshop do not link to eating
disorders but to disordered eating, (Arnold). Disordered eating is a diet that is often confused with
eating disorders. Many people who use diets are unhappy with their body and are using a diet to
achieve the body they want. Whereas on the other hand, an eating disorder is intentionally not eating
and starving themselves to get their desired body.
Although photoshop may be misjudged, it still continues to send bad messages to society. For an
example, children. Children are like sponges, they absorb as much information as they can in one day
as possible, varying from learning academically and socially. Introducing a flawless photo and passing
it off as realistic standards set a bad precedent for children. Many young girls and women especially

  • 2. Searle s Systems Reply In anticipation of possible replies to his findings, Searle explained the possible arguments against his Chinese room thought experiment and replied to them. In one of these arguments, Searle explains what he calls the Systems Reply. In this reply, although the man in the Chinese room himself is unable to understand Chinese, the system as a whole, the man, the prompting screen, the rule book, etc., does understand. In rebuttal, Searle simply supposes that the man internalizes all of the knowledge of the transition from the questions in Chinese to the answers in Chinese. The man, as a system, is now able to hear the Chinese characters prompted to him and respond based off the rule book that he memorized. Searle argues that this eliminates ... Although the man in the box does not understand Chinese, the system has demonstrated the ability to understand it. In this, the man in the box does not understand Chinese, nor does any other singular part of the room. However, when all parts of the system work together, the entire system can mimic the understanding of Chinese. Chinese speakers (all speakers for that matter) manipulate symbols in a formal system to communicate, just as the system demonstrates the ability to do. The formal manipulation of symbols constitutes an understanding of the symbols, the syntax and the rules that follow. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In January 2012 as he investigated the challenges in the current production process, he met most of key departments and work centres by touring the factory. Industry Overview Bayonne Packaging, Inc is in the paper packaging industry. In the 1980s and early 1990s companies in the consumer goods industry start to look for a greater impact with their promotional materials and star to implement their promotional budget to the package itself instead of print media and broadcast forms. This led to a rapidly growth on the paper packaging industry. Also, additional customer market segments made a quick impact in a crowded marketplace due to the explosive growth of software packaging. These factors give good reason for the growth in sales from 10 million in 1982 to 32 million in 2001. New challenges were faced with the bursting of the dot com bubble and when software sales and distribution moved from CDs to the Internet, but Bayonne dealt well this challenges by adopting a strategy of diversification into new markets. Juno is the queen of the gods and held in high respects in the city of Carthage. As of now, the object of love for Aeneas is his country and for its growth and success. Aeneas lands on the shores of Carthage and this is where his focus of love is shaken and tested. While searching in the woods, Aeneas meets a young girl, who is disguised and actually his mother Venus. She tells Aeneas the background story of the ruler of Carthage and how everything came to be. She also reassures Aeneas that his missing ships, along with his other comrades, are safe and to continue the path into the city. Instead of focusing on the individuals that may have been roaming around the city as an object of love, he views the whole city, which was still in progress, as an object of love. Their existence had been threatened before by the Assyrians and God had saved them before. But this time seemed different. The city of Jerusalem is corrupt and dirty and the people of Judah are unfaithful and misguided. The help of God which destroyed the much larger Assyrian army will not be so forthcoming this time. As the people search for a solution, they are presented with various opinions and predictions from different people. There are prophets, priests, and kings who all claim to know the truth and claim to be the help that the people of Judah so desire. The Judahites need to navigate all of these predictions and all of the forecasts. They can let history be their guide, they can participate in critical arguments, and they can consider each point carefully. But in the end each Judahite must decide where their allegiance will lie and if it will help keep them alive. In the game, there were resolutions proposed to determine who to listen to and which story was most agreeable. Each voting member of the Judahite community was faced with a few basic questions. Were the prophets really sending a truthful message of God, or are they doomsayers looking for attention? Were the priests examples of piety and righteous life, or do they take advantage of their position for material gain? Was the king all powerful and inviolable as a descendent of David, or ... • 7. The Importance Of The Relevance Of The Data The importance of the relevance of the data has been identified since the very early work in context aware ubiquitous systems. Despite of its importance few works have been carried out to quantify the QoC and ensure the quality of the information on which the decisions and actions of contextaware systems are based. Moreover, many decision support techniques are insufficient to address the runtime uncertainty in the context information as they do not assess the QoC in an end to end fashion. We formulate the related work into two parts: 1) QoC attributes and modeling aspects 2) Runtime decision support addressing uncertainty A. QoC attributes and modeling aspects QoC attributes and their modeling comes into play to capture the uncertainties in context data. A well designed model is a key assessor to the quality of the context. Krause and Hochstatter [5] discussed the challenges in modeling the QoC and its usage. Several QoC models emerged but most of the QoC models were not properly quantified according to the QoC requirements. Castro et al. [6] investigated the accuracy of a location sensing service was compromised. Ranganathan et al. [7] used predicate and probabilistic logic to assign confidence values from 0 to 1 for every type of context. Dey et al. [1] suggested that mediation with the user can help to reduce the uncertainty. The Jewish Community Of Today The Jewish community of today believe that the Pharisees of Jesus time have transformed into a group called rabbinic Judaism after the destruction of the temple in 70 C.E. They are believed to be the Rabbi s of today, and are living proof, that they all were not against Jesus. Today, all major branches of Judaism claim at least some affinity with rabbinic Judaism of centuries gone by, and perceive Judaism as issuing not simply from the Hebrew Bible but also from the interpretation of those Scriptures by the Pharisees and their successors, the rabbis (Cook, M. J. p. 441). With this in mind, it is believed that we can get a better understanding of the Pharisees and Scribes of when Jesus walked the earth. By using the Gospels and the rabbinic writings one could get a clear picture of this group according to Dr. Cook. There is one account in the Gospel of John were one Pharisee questions Jesus and is trying to understand who Jesus is and what message is he bringing them. Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. This man came to Jesus by night and said to him, Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him (John 3:1 2). Every brain is biologically and chemically different, and how these chemicals react in your brain and body can have an effect on the person s characteristics. The two movies that I chose to watch were The Shawshank Redemption and American Psycho. In The Shawshank Redemption there is a clear case of a mentally healthy character and in American Psycho there is a very definitive sign of a character with a mental disorder. In The Shawshank Redemption, Andy Dufresne is portrayed by Tim Robbins and in American Psycho, Patrick Bateman is played by Christian Bale. The Shawshank Redemption came out in 1994 and has been named one of the best movies to be produced. Shawshank provides a display of a mentally healthy character, Andy Dufresne, who was convicted for murder charges on his wife and her lover. Andy is sentenced to two consecutive life sentences, so needless to say he will be spending a long time in prison. Before Andy was convicted, he was a hot shot banker who made a surplus of money but people also claim he fell out of love with his wife. Not showing his wife enough attention led her to have an affair and then allegedly Andy found out and murdered the both of them. The only problem with Andy being sentenced to prison for the murder is the fact that he did not actually do it and he was falsely convicted for a crime he did ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The three perspectives of stress are: stress in relation to stressors, stress in relation to response, and stress in relation to an interaction. According to the perspective that stress is associated with the stressor, stress is mainly caused by exterior or interior stressors and a person s perception has little to do with the amount of stress inflicted on the individual. The response perspective of stress, highlights that it is not the stressor that determines stress, but it is rather determined by how a particular person responds emotionally or reacts to a given situation. In the interactional perspective of stress, stress is determined by an individual s perception of a stressor or event. In other words, between the stressor and the response is a cognitive stage in which the individual cognitively accesses the situation based on factors such as, values, beliefs, and perceived controllability. Whether the 2003 invasion in Iraq was a legitimate humanitarian intervention or not, is two folded. For instance, when viewed in the perspective of protecting the Iraqi citizens from the inhumane reign that they were subjected to, the invasion can said to be legitimate humanitarian intervention. On the other hand, when the invasion is seen in terms of its aftermath such as the destruction caused by it, the unpredictability nature of the war (Lambeth, 2013), and its effect that undermined the motives or rather the expectations of the Iraqi citizens, since it was associated with mass killings, then the invasion will not be regarded as a legitimate humanitarian intervention. The non legitimacy of the humanitarian intervention is evident whereby, the invasion in Iraq by the US, Great Britain along with other coalition forces turned out to be disastrous. This is because, it aggravated the humanitarian crisis and also had a major political, military, legal, economic and strategic consequences. Even though Saddam Hussein did not set any fires to the Iraqi oil fields or use the alleged weapons related to mass destruction, the war had numerous serious results that ranged from death along with destruction in Iraq, and also led to regional instability (Wehrey, 2010), despite the fact that itdid not take long.
