Ferguson Speech
Ferguson, MO
Amani King
In Ferguson, MO on August 9, 2014 at 12:01 am, Mike Brown Jr. (18 years of age, High school
graduate) was gunned down in the streets of Ferguson by officer Darren Wilson (An officer in
Ferguson, MO, born May 14, 1986, from Fourth Worth Texas), because Mike Brown and his friend
Dorian Johnson were walking down the middle of the street only 5 minutes from my house in
Ferguson. The killing of Mr. Brown Jr. didn t have to happen plus there was no reason all the money
spent on Darren Wilson s training in what to do in standoff situations that any one should have been

have never had this problem before. My grandmother was sitting only some steps away from where
the bullet had landed, so we were scared out of our mind. We weren t expecting anything like that to
happen to us because we don t have any problems with anyone. So we called the Ferguson police
department, and they had come by and they told us it was nothing they could do. They told us that
some people had called about people shooting 4 or 5 blocks away from us, but we just didn t
understand how it had come across the way and hit the house. That was the only problem we had with

Analysis Of Avital Cohen And Tsal Essay
The article by Avital Cohen and Tsal (2016) discussed the flanker task experiment, which asserted that
distractor interference happens unconsciously as a result of focused attention toward the target. The
results from the original flanker task indicated that participants had slower responses for incongruent
trials, since the distractors are inconsistent with the target and would require a different response
(Avital Cohen Tsal, 2016). However, Avital Cohen and Tsal (2016) questioned the findings from the
flanker task experiment. They decided to challenge the idea that only the target stimuli receives top
down processing, and not the distractors (Avital Cohen Tsal, 2016). The first experiment aimed to test
whether the distractor interference is purely bottom up processing as claimed in the flanker task. The
experiment manipulated participants expectations of the target using the context effect a type of top
down processing by changing the distractors to be either letters or digits (Psych 240 lecture, 9/21/16).
Then, the researchers conducted a second experiment and eliminated the ambiguity of distractors.
They wanted to test whether the result from experiment 1 was caused by an overall bias or the
ambiguous distractors. In experiment 2, the researchers predicted that they would obtain similar
results to the first experiment only if the results were due to an overall bias effect (Avital Cohen Tsal,
2016). This study allows us to deepen our understanding of available

Theme Of Ode To A Nightingale
Ode to a Nightingale by John Keats
Ode to a Nightingale is a regular ode written by John Keats in 1819. The ode is the longest one with
eight stanzas with ten lines each. The poem was composed at Charles Brown s house after John Keats
heard a nightingale bird outside his window singing. This poem expresses different themes such as the
theme of mortality of human life, the theme of unhappiness and happiness, and various figures of
speech like symbolism, to support the themes.
Throughout this poem, Ode to a Nightingale, the author fully expresses the theme of mortality of
human life. In this ode, the speaker convinces himself into believing that the nightingale bird or its
song is immortal. After hearing the nightingale s song, the speaker ... Show more content on

For instance, the word nightingale appears in the title, but it is used as a symbol of beauty,
immortality, and freedom from the struggles of the world. The speaker also uses metaphors like the
metaphor of flight, to describe his imaginative journey to join the nightingale. Keats claims that he
flies on his metaphorical wings:
Away! Away! For I will fly to thee,
Not charioted by Bacchus and his pards,
But on the viewless wings of Poesy, (Keats, 31 33).
The speaker uses imagination to expresses his urge to get away. The symbolism and metaphors help to
show the theme of happiness and express the experience of nighttime through the nightingale
approach, surrounded by dark and fragrant trees. The poem, Ode to a Nightingale expresses various
themes like the theme of happiness and the theme of mortality of human life. Keats compares the life
of the nightingale living in the forest to the human life in the regular world. Throughout the poem, the
poet expresses both manic and quiet mood. Also, the title of the poem lets the reader know that it is an
ode, where he addresses the nightingale. The poet uses different figures of speech such as symbolism

The Negative Effects of the Fashion Industry on Eating Disorders
While it s fashion week in London, the size zero models start to prepare for the big show by purging to
be as thin as possible. Most models starve themselves in order to achieve the waif , stick thin figure; it
becomes so addictive, almost like second nature that it further leads to serious eating disorders. From
recent studies, today s model weighs about 23% less than the normal woman. Clearly, most models do
not depict the average woman. Men and women all over the world follow the influences that the
fashion industry provides. They believe that the fashion industry depicts on what society should be
acknowledged as, picture perfect thin. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A large contributing factor to this problem is that many people in the fashion world encourage the use
of overly thin models in editorials and fashion shows. For example, as Kathryn Shattuck, What s On
Today: [The Arts/Cultural Desk], mentions that Kelly Cutrone, world renowned fashion publicist,
encourages, Clothes look better on thin people. The fabric hangs better (1). The fashion industry s
emphasis on being thin and its use of extremely underweight models in unacceptable. Many people
would agree that the fashion industry plays the majority role in eating disorders, but Lisa Hilton,
British Vogue writer, disagrees. Hilton argues, Its objective is selling clothes, and the consensus
remains that in order to achieve this, models need to be thin . . . Fashion is about fantasy, about
impossibility, about, dare we say it, art. Most women can t tell the difference (1). Hilton
condescendingly continues to refute the criticisms that models are too thin and the fashion industry
encourages eating disorders.
More recently, Sports Illustrated model, Kate Upton whom is a size 4, is now considered a plus size
model and deemed to be too curvy . In the United States the normal sized woman is between the size
of 6 and 10. Most of us do not understand why some put themselves through so much anguish to
satisfy these body image complexes. Back in the 1950 s, models were

OxyContin also known by its generic name Oxycodone is an opioid drug that relieves moderate short

effect is it slows down not only the respiratory system but also the central nervous system, allowing
the drowsy effect to take place. The positive effects of OxyContin are often the reason why people

Essay on Voodoo Speech
What Will Be Covered
Today, I m going to be talking about the roots of voodoo and what it actually is, the two types of
voodoo, voodoo rituals and superstitions, and why voodoo is perceived as a negative or controversial
topic.
What Is Voodoo?
I m sure everyone has their own perception of voodoo inside their head. Most people think includes
black magic, evil spirits, and causing harm to others. However, voodoo is actually a complex tradition
of faiths and beliefs that combine into an overall world full of religion and magic. It is believed to
have started sometime around 1724 in Africa, Haiti specifically. Today, there are still people in parts of
the United States that believe in voodoo and practice it. Voodoo embraces the ... Show more content

New Orlean Voodoo Rituals
New Orleans voodoo rituals differ from those of Haitian voodoo because of their emphasis on voodoo
queens, gris gris, superstitions and spells. Voodoo queens were central figures to voodoo in the United
States. They looked over ceremonial meetings and ritual dance while also obtaining income by
making charms, amulets and magical powders that were guaranteed to have special healing powers.
The most legendary voodoo queen was Marie Laveau because of her special powers and ability to do
exorcisms. She quickly overthrew the other voodoo queens of New Orleans. Gris Gris is a voodoo
amulet which is believed to protect whomever wears it from evil and will provide them with good
luck. New Orleans voodoo is also known for their superstitions, however, they aren t central to the
actual faith. These superstitions are just resulted from ancient Louisana voodoo tradition and have
influenced the faith.
Why is Voodoo shown in a Negative Light?
I m sure before I talked about voodoo, you expected something totally different. I, myself, thought
voodoo was actually all about black magic and evil spirits. However, voodoo is not actually negative.
When the early Haitian slaves came over to different parts of the world, they also brought over their
faith. However, because they were black and their religion was not recognized, it was prejudged as
evil. The priests were known as witchdoctors, the Loa were thought to be evil when in reality, the

Theme Of Cyrano De Bergerac
True to Even the Dead A man true to his word never betrays a friend. Edmond Rostand develops this
in Cyrano de Bergerac through the character Cyrano. Even after Christian dies, Cyrano does not tell
Roxane that it was him writing the love letters. Roxane knows it was Cyrano, yet he continuously
stays true to Christian. Rostand demonstrates the concepts of a true friend never betraying through the
actions of Cyrano when Roxane realizes that he had been writing all of the love letters.
Roxane realizes: And all these fourteen years, he has been the old friend, who came to me to be
amusing.
Cyrano: Roxane!
Roxane: It was you.
Cyrano: No, no, Roxane, no!
Roxane: And I might have known, Everytime that I heard you speak my name!
Cyrano: No It was not I (5.1.248 253)
Even though Roxane realizes that it was Cyrano writing the letters, he never betrays Christian. An
honorable friend will not betray his companion. An honorable man will always keep his word and stay
true to his friend no matter what happens. Rostand coveys this through the Cyrano s tone and actions,
figurative language, and the character s circumstances. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Christian s illusion. Throughout the scene, Cyrano is becoming weaker and weaker due to the wound
on his head. However, he put his life in jeopardy (and even died) to see Roxane like he has for

The Meuse Argonne Offensive Of World War I
The Meuse Argonne offensive of World War I began in the fall of 1918. The offensive began in the
dawn of 26 September 1918 and concluded on 11 November 1918 after forty seven days. The massive
and bloody offensive pitted the newly formed American Expeditionary Force (AEF) referred to its
allies as the Doughboys led by General John Black Jack Pershing against a heavily fortified German
force entrenched between the Meuse River and Argonne Forest located northwest of Verdun in the
Alsace Lorraine region. The battle became the bloodiest and deadliest in the Army s history. This
battle analysis will examine the Meuse Argonne offensive.

The victory at Meuse Argonne on 11 November 1918 led to the armistice that ended the Great War.
The weather in the Meuse Argonne region in the fall of 1918 presented cold rain, heavy fog, and mist.
All three reduced visibility affecting maneuver, aerial support and artillery support. However, the rain
presented a greater challenge resulting from flooded trenches and roads, muddy ground that slowed
maneuver, and reduced morale and increased in cases of pneumonia due to the wet conditions.
The terrain in the Meuse Argonne region in its natural form and after three years of fortification
favored the German Army. The battlefield resembled a funnel with the wide end serving as the start
point for the AEF to begin its maneuver towards the spout where fortified positions awaited to the
north. It naturally afforded the defending Germans clear observation and fields of fire for German
machine guns to engage approaching Allied troops.
To the western edge of the AEF s front line, the dense Argonne Forest ran generally north northwest
while twenty miles to the eastern edge of the front line stood the impassable Meuse River running
north to south; both reduced the avenues of approach forcing the AEF to advance towards the
seemingly impregnable defense. Key terrain offered a wooded landscape along the hills, ridges, and
valleys provided the Germans natural concealment. Obstacles such as streams and low ground

Wide Sargasso Sea Isolation Essay
In the novels Wide Sargasso Sea and Jane Eyre, by Jean Rhys and Charlotte Bronte, the theme of
isolation is used to contrast both Antoinette and Jane. In both novels, Jane and Antoinette all have to
experience isolation which helps them by the end of the novels. In this essay, I will compare and
contrast how Charlotte Bronte and Jean Rhys explain the theme of isolation through the lives of both
Jane and Antoinette. The novels, Jane Eyre and Wide Sargasso Sea, portray Jane and Antoinette as
being two isolated personalities who, despite their different lives both endure isolation. In Jane Eyre,
Jane is an orphan who is left in the care of her aunt who treats her harshly and isolates her from the
rest of the people in the house. When Jane has a chance to attend Lowood, her isolation is aggravate,
and she transforms into a very restrained woman with low self confidence with no hope. Similarly, in
Wide Sargasso Sea, Antoinette s isolation starts at home as well and continues when she attends the
convent which influences her personality. In the novel, Antoinette spends most of her time in her room
because she feels as though people view her as being insane; however, in reality Antoinette acts very
normal. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jean Rhys makes it clear that no one paid attention to Antoinette or her family. Thus, Antoinette s
isolation at an early age negatively shapes her identity and her relationship with others, particularly
Rochester. In the middle of the novel, Antoinette is vulnerable, emotionally destroyed, and lives in a
world that she created in order to escape isolation until Rochester makes an appearance in her life.
Later on, the novel discloses that Rochester, whom Antoinette loves, starts to distance himself from
her until she can no longer take

David Hume s Empiricism

Every philosopher begins with the premises from which he bases his entire philosophical theory.
Descartes rejects all the premises and holds innate into question. He withholds all the assumptions and
only believes in things that can be proven. His goal in subjecting everything to methodical doubt is
you don t know it is true until you have the proof. Descartes begins by doubting his own existence and
starts with the premise, I think I am therefore I am . He is not sure whether he exists or not but the fact
that he is thinking is the proof that his mind exists. Descartes is Mind Body dualist and although mind

Simple ideas are copy of a single direct experience/ impression for example, idea of Mount Everest.
Complex ideas are combination of two or more copies of impressions/ experiences for example, idea
of a golden mountain. You have an idea of gold color and you have an idea about mountain thus even
though nobody has seen a golden mountain but you can have idea about a golden mountain. According
to Hume, you only know what your experience will allow you to know. You cannot know more than
what you can experience; knowledge is dependent and derivative of experience. He says God is
complex idea we don t have any proof about God s existence or inexistence. This point of view of
David Hume is completely different to Descartes who believes in God s existence. According to David
Hume, if we have idea of infinity that means we must have impression of infinite but we cannot touch
or feel infinity thus infinity is not a simple idea. In order for infinity to be complex idea but we don t
have anything that is infinite so according to Hume, concept of infinity doesn t exist. It is just pseudo
idea that we have given name which has no relation to anything actual.
David Hume makes another distinction regarding object of cognition, anything that is thought about.
All the object of human reason or inquiry may naturally be divided into two kinds, relation of ideas
and matters of fact. David Hume uses the term Matters of fact is the kind of thing

The Battle Of National Pride
In society the word soldier creates importance. The common usage of the word is an individual who
fights or is a part of an army. In the United States a soldier displays utmost importance. The natural
feeling one can get when encountering a soldier is pride, freedom, bravery and safety. When looking
back to US history a soldier has proven essential to priceless building of American character. The
struggles of injustice and fear have been and still continue to be defended with soldiers. The United
States invests and trains thousands of soldiers. The Army, Navy, Air force, and Marines are just a few
branches of the US military that characterizes the meaning of national pride. Although, the world
encounters different perspectives with the term soldiers ; they can be the opposite of an opposing
countries ideology. The US loves their soldier, but countries that have lost to the US military see
soldiers inducing fear, power and havoc. The Iraq and Iran wars are seen from the US to gain freedom
from possible terror but innocent civilians of these countries see US soldiers as raiders, bringing fear
and posing hostility (Dreazen). They fight for something and thus this is the drive to making a soldier.
A soldier is not all physically engaging. There are many people who run a race to fight for a true cause
and they are coined as a solider too. For example, in the song Onward, Christian Soldiers , from the
19th century creates the idea of an evangelical soldier (Sullivan). There

By 1673 it was necessary for the college to start upgrading the site. The original crumbling stock was
demolished and replaced with the more suitable current buildings. The Main Court is enclosed on
three sides, with the open east side facing Trumpington Street, revealing the entire court to passers by.
There have been several plans to build an east range but they have never materialised. This classical
brick court was built by Robert Grumbold, between 1673 and 1697, and now mixes styles in an
idiosyncratic way. The north range contains the old dining hall which was Gothicised by architect
Fawcett in 1868. The adjoining plain chapel retains its original clumsy classical form. This unhinged
mix has a definite appeal for students of the unusual. The library, built over the hall, was refitted in
1756 by Bishop Sherlock and contains the medical cabinet of former student Dr. John Addenbrooke,
who went on to found the local Addenbrooke s Hospital. The west and south ranges are much more

customer convenience. First thing in the morning we sort the internal reports that print before we

These returns are put with a copy of the original item and sent to the mailing address we have on the
customer file. They will then be processed with all the other mail to go to the Post Office at the end of
the day. Some of our business customers have requested that they receive a fax of the return as soon as
it is processed so that they may take the appropriate actions on their end. The biggest part of my job
was answering all the customer phone calls. At any point in the day, a customer might call to ask about
their account. I answer the phone and assist the customer with anything they need. Customers usually
want to know their current balance or if a check has entered their account yet, but sometimes they
want to know about the last few transactions so I go over those and give them the information they are
requesting. Many of the same customers call frequently so I began recognizing their voices and they
started referring to me as the man in bookkeeping since the other Bookkeeping employees are women.
Personally, I think that knowing the customers and their needs helps to maintain the home town
banking that WCB is well known for around our community and the surrounding areas. I enjoy
speaking with and assisting our customers, many of them I see and know personally around the town.
It is nice to establish these connections

The Problem Of Football Club
Further to your questions and advice you require about your football club facing currently. This is a
common practice in the United Kingdom that football clubs face financial problems due to their debts
exceeding their current assets. In recent years, many football clubs went into liquidation,
administration process. This situation arises where football clubs are unable to pay their debts because
they could not control their massive expenditures. Therefore, they went insolvent or in to liquidation.
To sum up this process, the company shareholders passed the special resolution to put the company in
to liquidation or administration or Creditors take the matter to court and get the court orders against
potential debtors. All processes are done under the common law and statutes such as Insolvency Act
1986 , the Bankruptcy and Diligence etc. (Scotland) Act 2007 and the Debt Arrangement Scheme
(Scotland) regulations 2011 and the Company Act 2006. The creditors may arrest your company assets
through the process of diligence.
I start with your concerns about the arrestment of your company assets in the hands of a third party
(bank accounts, tickets, outlets etc.) by the creditors which you fear they might arrest due to the debts
that your club is unable to pay. Arrestment procedure set out in s 73A of the Debtors (Scotland) Act
1987 (the 1987 Act ) this section provides that an arrestment in execution must follow a decree in
respect of the debts due to the creditor and a

Reality Television Has A Negative Effect On Teenage Girls
Reality Television is a relatively new phenomenon that has exploded over the last several years.
Whether it has to do with an extreme makeover or finding the supposed love of your life, reality
television has given us the opportunity to become voyeurs in others lives. Approximately, 50% of
television audiences are watching reality shows (Webster University). Long gone are the days of
whole television programs. Today, most reality shows depict women as an object, only defined and
valued by their sexuality. What kind of message is this sending to young girls? The purpose of this
study is to show that reality television can have a negative effect on teenage girls. This matters
because it can lead to the sexualization of young girls. The greater the exposure to reality television,
the higher the sexualization of young girls. These findings can be of interest to TV programming
executives, who may change their business strategy as a result of our findings. This research differs
from the past in that it focuses solely on girls and not the differences that arise between girls and boys
in reality television viewing.
Problem of Practice: The sexualization of women in many of today s reality shows leads to a negative
effect on young girls. How girls learn about their value and worth can be greatly impacted by the
degrading roles many of these reality stars portray. It sets high unrealistic expectations of the way
young girls are supposed to act. Women are

The House Of The Importance Of The North York Moors
This section is probably the most demanding part of the Way, it traverses the northern escarpment of
the North York Moors, crossing a series of valley s which drain the moorland pastures. On a clear day,
the scenery is beautiful and invigorating, but there are few places to shelter if the weather turns foul.
Lord Stones Country Park is the only watering hole, en route, so take sufficient rations. Our journey
resumes from the market cross, and within a few minutes, we have two optional detours to consider,
one to Lady Chapel and another to Mount Grace Priory. Both will incur extra time and distance. The
Priory, founded in 1398 by Thomas de Holand, the nephew of Richard II, bears the illustrious title of

COMPARATIVE EVALUATION BETWEEN MATHEMATICAL MODELS FOR DRUG RELEASE
OF CURCUMIN LOADED MULTIFUNCTIONAL ALBUMIN NANOPARTICLES
Abstract:
Curcumin loaded albumin nanoparticles were employed for intra tumoral chemotherapy for treatment
of solid tumors1. Drug release study for Curcumin was monitored in vitro using dialysis1. The drug
release data was fitted into 5 mathematical models such as zero order, first order, Hixen Crowell,
Higuchi release and Korsmeyes Peppas release kinetics model. R2 coefficient was compared and was
concluded that Higuchi release kinetics model is best suited for the drug release kinetics for
Curcumin.

Analysis:
Drug release data for curcumin was fitted into 5 mathematical models and studied to determine the
best mathematical model. The model chosen were:
i. Zero Order Kinetics
The zero order kinetics depends upon the initial concentration of the drug loaded on the nanoparticles
and refers to constant release of drug5,6. Zero order kinetics is represented as:
Qt=Qo+k*t
Qt = amount of drug dissolved in time t, Qo=initial amount of drug, k=zero order kinetics constant
ii. First Order Kinetics
The release of the drug which followed first order kinetics can be expressed by the equation7: log C =
log C0 Kt / 2.303
Co is the initial concentration of drug, k is the first order rate constant, and t is the time
iii. Hixon Crowell Release Kinetics
Hixson and Crowell derived the equation: Q01/3 Qt1/3 = κ*t where Q0 is the initial amount of drug,
Qt is the remaining amount of drug at time t and κ (kappa) constant incorporates surface volume
relation. The equation describes the release from systems where there is a change in surface area and
diameter of particles or tablets9.
iv. Higuchi Release Kinetics
Higuchi drug release kinetics model was proposed Higuchi in 1961 based on a matrix system8. The
matrix model is based on initial drug concentration in the, instantaneous drug

The Hunt For Red October Summary
The Hunt for Red October The book I chose to write about is The Hunt for Red October, written by
Tom Clancy.
The book is about the hunt for a new Soviet nuclear submarine called Red October. The settings of the
story are Russia, America, and the Atlantic Ocean. The time is the early 1980 s. The main characters
are Jack Ryan, an intelligent American CIA agent who lives in London, and
Marko Aleksandrovich Ramius, a Soviet submarine captain. Other characters in the book are
Seaman Jones, a navy man, and Skip Tyler, a crippled submarine engineer. The story begins in Russia
with the nuclear stealth submarine Red October, armed with nuclear missiles, is launched into the
ocean. Inside, Captain Ramius thinks about his wife who was killed because of the lack of efficiency

To make sure no one interferes with his decision to defect, Ramius kills the political officer onboard.
The Soviet Union found out that Ramius is going to defect, so they sent anything they had to destroy
the Red October, but they had trouble tracking it because it was nearly undetectable by Soviet
technology. At the same time, Jack Ryan was sent from London to the U.S. to deliver pictures of a new
Soviet submarine. After showing the pictures to the Deputy
Director of intelligence, Ryan goes to his friend Skip Tyler to try to figure out what type of submarine
it is. Tyler noticed it is a new type of Soviet sub with a stealth drive. A few days later, the U.S.S.
Dallas was near the coast of Iceland when Seaman Jones noticed a strange noise. He recorded it and
played it over and over again. Others onboard of the
U.S.S Dallas listened to the noise. They decided to follow the noise.
One man noticed a lot of Soviet boats were in the Atlantic Ocean and were heading for America.
The White House and Pentagon were notified and they feared Russia might be getting ready to attack.
Two days later, the U.S.S. Dallas and another submarine caught up with the noise

Red Dog Australian Identity
Australian people and culture are often stereotyped in the media in different forms, one of them being
film. The two films being examined, Red dog (2011) and the Sapphires (2012), are an example of the
Australian identity but from different points of view. Red dog shows the kind and positive side which
exemplifies mateship and loyalty. The film Sapphires ,which takes place in the 1950 s through to the
1960 s, shows a negative and racist view towards the indigenous people. Both the films show different
aspects of the Australian identity, not all insights of the films accurately represent contemporary
Australian identity as the Australian identity has changed by the evolution of people and their lifestyle.
The film Red dog focuses on the life of a dog and how he affects the lives of those around him. ...

This is a person who is friendly, faithful and loyal and strives to find a solution in any tight situation.
This true blue persona is represented by several characters in the film Red dog including the dog
himself as he shows companionship and resilience throughout the film. The community working there
also represent the Australian identity by treating Red Dog like one of them even when Red Dog was
injured everyone was worried about him as if he was a human being. An addition to these themes Red
dog is set in the Australian outback were Australia is shown as dry dessert, a common misconception
which is inaccurate of Australian land. Today the majority of the Australian population live in cities
where they are close to their jobs and other facilities therefore this aspect of the film does not properly
represent contemporary Australian society. Although the notion of mateship and the virtues of the
characters in Red dog are accurate representations of the ideal version of the modern Australian
identity, the darker side of Australian culture and history is completely

Did Jesus Deserve To Die Essay
Jesus was the man who claimed to be the Son of God. He lived a long, long time ago. Many scholars
say that Jesus was born around the time zero. It is believed that the virgin Mary gave birth to Jesus
through the Holy Spirit. Nobody knows exactly what Jesus looked like because there was no pictorial
evidence from his time to show what he looked like. In lots of present time pictures of Jesus, he has
long brown hair with brown eyes and a tanned skin. In my eyes Jesus had hazelnut brown hair with
the blue eyes. He also may have had a tanned skin because he lived in Israel which is a very hot
country though when he went to heaven my view changes a bit. I think when Jesus went to heaven he
had a pale skin colour like God and that it wasn t just lights shining on him. He may have looked like
an ordinary man but he turned the impossible possible. When he was alive he did many great things
but many people didn t like this. My question is did Jesus deserve to die?
Jesus did many great miracles but not everyone accepted what he did. The reason why Jesus
performed miracles was because he needed prove that he could heal the sick and why people should
follow him.
One of his miracles was the healing of the paralysed man. I chose this miracle because it s significance
was that Jesus had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

gave the sick hope and taught people great things like making mistakes isn t bad because you just need

God? Many people didn t like him because he performed things that were impossible. For example; he

God was working through Jesus to help them. The only reason why they killed Jesus was because they

Present Tense In MSA
Present Tense
The present tense in MSA is usually indicated by the imperfective form. The imperfective form in
MSA is an ambiguous form. It can express all types of present tense in MSA, namely, it can be used to
give a right now reading, habitual present and present progressive. When researchers discuss the
present tense, they usually distinguish between two main groups of verbs that are state verbs and
dynamic or event verbs. State verbs usually give the right now reading. For example:

In contrast, dynamic verbs in the imperfective form in MSA usually have two possible interpretations
and the context or adverbs determine one of them. For example, verbs in the imperfective form such
as yamshi `walk or yakulu `eat can have the two interpretations. Therefore, both verbs can be used
with adverb like kull a yawm in `every day which denotes a habitual interpretation or adverb like
alaan `now which denotes a progressive, Also, they are called stative or static

Comparing Stoppard s Rosencrantz, Guildenstern, And Dead
In addition, Stoppard s work makes it clear that Rosencrantz, Guildenstern and Hamlet all think about
the absurd an idea that goes hand in hand with existentialist views. Jean Paul Sartre an existentialist
wrote in an essay that, to say that we invent values means nothing else but this: life has no meaning,
(Sartre). This is the absurd, that life has no meaning even if the individual comes up with their own
values. This is the exactly what Guildenstern realizes when he says, We ve travelled too far, and our
momentum has taken over; we move idly towards eternity, without possibility of reprieve or hope of
explanation, (Stoppard, 121). Guildenstern has come to the realization that life is essential a slow
march to death. Life has no meaning and in the end everyone will die. Guildenstern is basically saying
that he and Rosencrantz might as well stay on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both characters are contemplating suicide because they can not find meaning in life, viewing life from
an absurdist perspective. This demonstrates that both characters are existential as Hamlet views life as
meaningless and he needs to define his own purpose, which he does when he avenges his father s
murder. Rosencrantz has been at the mercy of others actions for the entirety of the play and has no free
will of his own, so he views life as absurd. What he does not realize is that he is merely just an actor
or an object whose purpose preceded his existence. All three characters Hamlet, Rosencrantz and
Guildenstern view life as meaningless and without a purpose at different parts in both Shakespeare s
Hamlet and Stoppard s Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead. Viewing life as meaningless when
not having a purpose is a key part of the existential philosophy. Stoppard s work extends this idea and
further proved that Hamlet is an existential

Historical Significance Of Invictus
Invictus is a historical film that takes place during post apartheid South Africa. It was directed by Clint
Eastwood and starring Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon. The film is based on John Carlin s book,
Playing the enemy: Nelson Mandela And Game That Made A Nation. It is mainly about Rugby World
Cup in 1995 in South Africa. Even though apartheid is over, there is a racial tension within the society.
However, Nelson Mandela, along with the captain of rugby team, Francois Pienaar, tried to solve this
by hoping for successful game. Most of the scenes in the film creatively demonstrate the historical
significance in an era of post apartheid. According to the film, Nelson Mandela became the first
democratic president in South Africa in 1994. Apartheid laws were dismantled, but both white and
black people did not get along, which was concerning for Mandela. Knowing the Rugby World Club
was taken in South Africa, Mandela believed this sport event will successfully unite people together
even though the Springboks team symbolized white supremacy. With this in mind, he met the
Springboks captain, Francois Pienaar, and they both ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I choose this movie because the title means unconquered in Latin, which attracts me. In the film,
Mandela mentioned that the poem affected him in a positive way as he never gave up on being the anti
activist during his time in the prison. The film is an inspiring movie that teaches us a lot of things. For
instance, we respect our people despite the color skins in order to keep justice going and be satisfied
as humans. Also, the film is not only focusing on the sport but the relationship between justices and
discriminations within the society. In my opinion, Mandela was the hard working, inspiring president
in South Africa as his treatments toward his society were the examples of the justice. Overall, this film
is highly recommended for

They told us that some people had called about people shooting 4 or 5 blocks away from us, but we just didn t understand how it had come across the way and hit the house. • 5. Analysis Of Avital Cohen And Tsal Essay The article by Avital Cohen and Tsal (2016) discussed the flanker task experiment, which asserted that distractor interference happens unconsciously as a result of focused attention toward the target. The results from the original flanker task indicated that participants had slower responses for incongruent trials, since the distractors are inconsistent with the target and would require a different response (Avital Cohen Tsal, 2016). However, Avital Cohen and Tsal (2016) questioned the findings from the flanker task experiment. They decided to challenge the idea that only the target stimuli receives top down processing, and not the distractors (Avital Cohen Tsal, 2016). The first experiment aimed to test whether the distractor interference is purely bottom up processing as claimed in the flanker task. The experiment manipulated participants expectations of the target using the context effect a type of top down processing by changing the distractors to be either letters or digits (Psych 240 lecture, 9/21/16). Then, the researchers conducted a second experiment and eliminated the ambiguity of distractors. They wanted to test whether the result from experiment 1 was caused by an overall bias or the ambiguous distractors. In experiment 2, the researchers predicted that they would obtain similar results to the first experiment only if the results were due to an overall bias effect (Avital Cohen Tsal, 2016). What Is Voodoo? I m sure everyone has their own perception of voodoo inside their head. Most people think includes black magic, evil spirits, and causing harm to others. However, voodoo is actually a complex tradition of faiths and beliefs that combine into an overall world full of religion and magic. New Orlean Voodoo Rituals New Orleans voodoo rituals differ from those of Haitian voodoo because of their emphasis on voodoo queens, gris gris, superstitions and spells. Voodoo queens were central figures to voodoo in the United States. They looked over ceremonial meetings and ritual dance while also obtaining income by making charms, amulets and magical powders that were guaranteed to have special healing powers. The most legendary voodoo queen was Marie Laveau because of her special powers and ability to do exorcisms. She quickly overthrew the other voodoo queens of New Orleans. Gris Gris is a voodoo amulet which is believed to protect whomever wears it from evil and will provide them with good luck. New Orleans voodoo is also known for their superstitions, however, they aren t central to the actual faith. These superstitions are just resulted from ancient Louisana voodoo tradition and have influenced the faith. Why is Voodoo shown in a Negative Light? I m sure before I talked about voodoo, you expected something totally different. I, myself, thought voodoo was actually all about black magic and evil spirits. However, voodoo is not actually negative. When the early Haitian slaves came over to different parts of the world, they also brought over their faith. However, because they were black and their religion was not recognized, it was prejudged as evil. The priests were known as witchdoctors, the Loa were thought to be evil when in reality, the ... Even after Christian dies, Cyrano does not tell Roxane that it was him writing the love letters. Roxane knows it was Cyrano, yet he continuously stays true to Christian. Rostand demonstrates the concepts of a true friend never betraying through the actions of Cyrano when Roxane realizes that he had been writing all of the love letters. The offensive began in the dawn of 26 September 1918 and concluded on 11 November 1918 after forty seven days. The massive and bloody offensive pitted the newly formed American Expeditionary Force (AEF) referred to its allies as the Doughboys led by General John Black Jack Pershing against a heavily fortified German force entrenched between the Meuse River and Argonne Forest located northwest of Verdun in the Alsace Lorraine region. The battle became the bloodiest and deadliest in the Army s history. This battle analysis will examine the Meuse Argonne offensive. However, the rain presented a greater challenge resulting from flooded trenches and roads, muddy ground that slowed maneuver, and reduced morale and increased in cases of pneumonia due to the wet conditions. The terrain in the Meuse Argonne region in its natural form and after three years of fortification favored the German Army. The battlefield resembled a funnel with the wide end serving as the start point for the AEF to begin its maneuver towards the spout where fortified positions awaited to the north. It naturally afforded the defending Germans clear observation and fields of fire for German machine guns to engage approaching Allied troops. To the western edge of the AEF s front line, the dense Argonne Forest ran generally north northwest while twenty miles to the eastern edge of the front line stood the impassable Meuse River running north to south; both reduced the avenues of approach forcing the AEF to advance towards the seemingly impregnable defense. Key terrain offered a wooded landscape along the hills, ridges, and valleys provided the Germans natural concealment. Obstacles such as streams and low ground ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In both novels, Jane and Antoinette all have to experience isolation which helps them by the end of the novels. In this essay, I will compare and contrast how Charlotte Bronte and Jean Rhys explain the theme of isolation through the lives of both Jane and Antoinette. The novels, Jane Eyre and Wide Sargasso Sea, portray Jane and Antoinette as being two isolated personalities who, despite their different lives both endure isolation. In Jane Eyre, Jane is an orphan who is left in the care of her aunt who treats her harshly and isolates her from the rest of the people in the house. When Jane has a chance to attend Lowood, her isolation is aggravate, and she transforms into a very restrained woman with low self confidence with no hope. Similarly, in Wide Sargasso Sea, Antoinette s isolation starts at home as well and continues when she attends the convent which influences her personality. In the novel, Antoinette spends most of her time in her room because she feels as though people view her as being insane; however, in reality Antoinette acts very normal. ... In the United States a soldier displays utmost importance. The natural feeling one can get when encountering a soldier is pride, freedom, bravery and safety. When looking back to US history a soldier has proven essential to priceless building of American character. The struggles of injustice and fear have been and still continue to be defended with soldiers. The United States invests and trains thousands of soldiers. The Army, Navy, Air force, and Marines are just a few branches of the US military that characterizes the meaning of national pride. Although, the world encounters different perspectives with the term soldiers ; they can be the opposite of an opposing countries ideology. The US loves their soldier, but countries that have lost to the US military see soldiers inducing fear, power and havoc. The Iraq and Iran wars are seen from the US to gain freedom from possible terror but innocent civilians of these countries see US soldiers as raiders, bringing fear and posing hostility (Dreazen). They fight for something and thus this is the drive to making a soldier. A soldier is not all physically engaging. There have been several plans to build an east range but they have never materialised. This classical brick court was built by Robert Grumbold, between 1673 and 1697, and now mixes styles in an idiosyncratic way. The north range contains the old dining hall which was Gothicised by architect Fawcett in 1868. The adjoining plain chapel retains its original clumsy classical form. The library, built over the hall, was refitted in 1756 by Bishop Sherlock and contains the medical cabinet of former student Dr. John Addenbrooke, who went on to found the local Addenbrooke s Hospital.
