Jan Brueghel s Extensive Landscape With Travellers On A...
St. Louis, Missouri is famous for the Gateway Arch and the Zoo; however, the Saint Louis Art
Museum (SLAM) is something that can t be overlooked. At a recent trip, I found a landscape painting
that shows the true meaning of human interaction. This panting is called Extensive Landscape With
Travellers on a Country Road and was painted by Jan Brueghel the Elder around 1608 to 1610. Some
background information about the infamous painter Jan Brueghel is that he was born in 1568 in
Brussels, Belgium. He was a painter of immense diversity. His art work includes biblical,
mythological, battle scenes, seascapes, still lifes, portraits, and numerous landscapes. Some of his
landscapes themes include: woodland hunts, mountain prospects, country roads ... Show more content

It shows the true beauty of a landscape painting with numerous formal elements and principles of
design. The painting is appealing to me because I have always been engaged outside working on our
farm, or hunting with my brother. Knowing the importance a road make for my family when we move
are goods to the local grain elevator. This panting is similar in that regard because it involves the
working class on a winding road. Their dependence on the road to move goods and obtain food from
place to place. Brueghel s painting still hold true today because people depend on roads for interaction
and movement of goods. When gazing at the painting, I can see myself stuck in time; performing the
different tasks alongside the road. When I first saw the painting compared to now, I would say that my
response to the panting has changed. At first glance you see a typical landscape; however, when
analyzing the painting you can find the true meaning of human interactions. As you can see, The
Extensive Landscape With Travellers on a Country Road by Jan Brueghel is a remarkable painting
with numerous elements and principles of design. I hope you enjoyed this painting as much as I have.
I would of never guessed that such a remarkable painting would be located so close to home at the St.

IPSec has two encryption modes: tunnel and transport.
IPSec uses three main protocols:
 IP Authentication Header (AH), IP protocol 51, providesauthentication of the origin of the data,
ensures data integrity, and protects against replay.
 IP Encapsulating Security Payload (ESP), IP protocol 50, protects datafrom viewing by third
parties, and provides the same features as AH.
 The Internet Security Association and Key Management Protocol(ISAKMP) is a protocol
framework that defines payload formats, themechanics of implementing a key exchange protocol, and

IPSec can be used in two modes: Tunnel encrypts the header and the payloadof each packet while
transport only encrypts the payload.

Personal Lessons Learned
From an early age I was taught the importance of personal integrity and the importance of being
adaptable and prepared for any stressful situation that life may throw at you. During my time as a boy
scout I was constantly taught to be prepared and to also to always be at the service of others. At the
end of our camping trips we would be told repeatedly to leave this place, better than when you found
it and this lesson has translated into my own life. I want to make the world a better (safer) place than
when I found it. As I grew up, these lessons continued to play a key role in the decisions I made and
have made me into the man that I ve become today.
While in middle school and into high school I had the opportunity to be exposed to many cultures that
were different than my own. I volunteered weekly through my church in a predominately Hispanic
community that was located in the Port of Houston. The neighborhood was extremely impoverished
and many of the students were involved in gangs, or had one or more parents that were incarcerated.
The more I worked with these young men and women, the more I learned about myself and that the
lesson I learned years prior of making the world better than when you found it rang true. This
community was not like the neighborhood that I lived in, and I was definitely ... Show more content

The Pros And Cons Of The Holy Trinity Doctrine
Once, there were words saying If you try to explain the Trinity, you will lose your mind, but if you
deny it, you will lose your soul . (Pritchard) The knowledge of God the Trinity is the center of the
Christian faith. Yet many believers have got confused in understanding the true natures of the
personalities and relationships of each person in God the Trinity. Endless questions continuously
appear, again and again, giving Christians a sense of extremely misty confusion towards the
magnificent attributes of every person in the Trinity. Who has an answer to these questions? None,
none but God Himself who has given us guidance through a lot of ways, as He is the supreme creator
and ruler of knowledge. The Bible itself is the strongest, richest, and most dependable source of ...

Early saints or early Christian teachers, have been discussing the Trinity deeply and deliberately for
decades, as it is one of the most complex teachings written in the Bible. One of the most reliable
doctrines of the Trinity is The Holy Trinity Doctrine. The Holy Trinity Doctrine was one of the
doctrines created during the first few ages where Christianity just started developing. This doctrine
was created in the Council of Nicea in 325 AD. During this discussion, diverse points were given by
theologists. Thoughts named as Tritheism, Unitarism, and Arianism are present. Tritheism focuses that
there are three separate Gods, promoting polytheism, Unitarism focuses on God the Father most, and
separates Christ and the Holy Spirit into a different category of deity, thus changing their divinity, and
Arianism promotes Jesus Christ as a creation of God during the Creation. Other than these three, there
are also other strong doctrines about the Trinity from the Apostles Creed, the Nicene Creed which
came from the Council of Nicea, and the Athanasian

Innate And The Immune System
In this essay the link between the two different parts of the immune system should be explained. The
immune system consists of the innate immune system on the one hand and the adaptive immune
system on the other. The innate system reacts fast and protects the body through barriers or special
cells, but the specificity of this system is very low. Contrary to the innate system acts the adaptive
system. It is needed if the innate system fails and therefore takes more time to get activated, but its
specificity is very high. This essay should describe, how these two systems work together and how
they are linked up to each other.
The immune system consists of two parts, the innate and the adaptive part. The biggest difference is,
that the adaptive immune system is very specific for certain pathogens, and it has the ability to
remember. That means, that the adaptive immune system gets better after each infection with the same
pathogen. (Roitt, et al., 1996)
The first contact from a pathogen with the body is always with the innate immune system. It is here to
prevent the body from an infection through pathogens and it forms the first defense line. The innate
immune system consists of physical barriers like the skin, proteins like the complement and certain
cells, primarily leucocytes. The two main ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

When antigens get through the epithelium, they are engulfed by macrophages, which are located in the

by either dendritic cells or macrophages and presented to the T

Three Polls
Abstract The objective of this report was to analyse three polls each from different sources, to identify
whether they were biased and unfair or unbiased and fair or perhaps a concoction of the two and if the
location of the sources affected the reliability and accuracy of the poll. This was done by depicting it
into a table with strengths and weaknesses of each of the three polls adjacent to each other. The
findings showed all three of the polls were with biased and unfair or unbiased and fair, none of them
were a mixture of the two. The sources of the polls did not influence the reliability and accuracy of the
poll, rather it contradicted it. All the sources were reliable however the polls had some bias involved

This may be possibly influenced by the sources. Introduction The aim of the report is to investigate
whether the polls analysed in the report are fair and unbiased or unfair and biased or a concoction of
both. Before any judgements are declared, the definition of what makes a fair and unbiased poll must
be outlined. A poll is where people are asked to give their opinions on a subjective or objective matter.
A poll diverges into nine types; benchmark polls, tracking polls, bushfire polls, entrance polls, exit
polls, deliberative opinion polls, opinion polls, push polls and straw polls. A benchmark poll is
generally a short and simple survey of respondent s opinion designated to help political candidates
craft their campaigns. Tracking polls are repeated over several consecutive days to create a picture of
where opinion is moving over time, to enable a rough report of the campaigns. The bushfire polls are
polls taken during the period between the benchmark and tracking polls. The number of brushfire
polls taken by a campaign is determined by how competitive the race is and how much money the
campaign has to spend. These polls usually focus on likely voters and the

On the above date I was conducting an area check of Walmart on foot with loss prevention. While
conducting the area check, Walmart Loss Prevention Officer, Chris Hoerl, and I observed two White
males enter the store through the grocery entrance. The subjects both looked extremely nervous when
they spotted me after entering the store. The male defendant, later identified as Daniel Tysin Racine,
continued to pace back and forth near the grocery entrance while texting on his cell phone. The other

Dispatch further advised me that the defendant had a non extradition drug related warrant out of New

by Officer Howard on 03 28 2017. On that day, the defendant was opening packages and he attempted
to exit the store without paying for merchandise. Furthermore, the defendant had no money or credit
card to pay for the items. Walmart declined to press criminal charges and only requested that a
trespass warning be issued. Officer Howard s report states that the defendant acknowledged, signed,

Carbon Dioxide And Its Effect On Earth s World
In today s atmosphere, carbon dioxide (CO2) amounts to 400 parts per million (ppm), but it hasn t
always been that high, or low, depending on what we are comparing it to. It is a trace gas that is vital
to Earth s atmosphere and has been around since the creation of Earth s first atmosphere, which
occurred shortly after the planet s creation. The advent of Earth s second atmosphere happened when
lighter gases such as hydrogen escaped into space or were bound to molecules, leaving gases like
nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and other gases that were the product of volcanism to make up the majority
of the atmosphere. This volcanic activity was fueled by gases that came to Earth following the late
heavy bombardment of huge asteroids . Following ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Leading up to the present, levels of CO2 have fluctuated due to geochemical processes such
suspension of the gas in sediment, silicate rock weathering, and volcanism. Also, human activity plays
a large part in carbon deposition into the atmosphere predominantly through the burning of fossil fuels
and the cultivation of livestock. On a drastically larger time scale the carbon cycle is ever so slightly
reducing atmospheric CO2 , which will ultimately bring the concentration down near zero, causing all
life on the planet to be wiped out. The carbon cycle, including both terrestrial and aquatic processes, is
the foundation under which photosynthesis is possible. Aside from the carbon cycle, CO2 is a key
element in many other natural processes and phenomena such as the Greenhouse Effect and Global
Warming . After the advent of the second atmosphere, the atmosphere had ~100 times as much gas as
the current atmosphere , which contained a large amount of CO2 which is believed to have kept the
Earth from freezing over. Over the next few billion years the water vapor condensed to form oceans
and rain that started to absorb CO2. Eventually 50% of the carbon in the atmosphere would end up
suspended in the ocean. This caused ocean acidification, which is the decrease in the pH level of the
ocean. Plate tectonics played a large role in the gradual evolution of the atmosphere by transferring
carbon dioxide to and from large

Use Of Language In Noah s Born A Crime
Born a Crime by Trevor Noah relives Noah s life in South Africa. his mother taught him a substantial
amount of life lessons, but the most valuable is that language can break barriers to unite people even
beyond race. Noah saw how his mother used language to handle situations and exploit the system. In
the book, Noah states multiple times, If I spoke like you, I was you (56). He could relate to people
when they spoke the same language. For example, Noah was new at H.A Jack Primary and due to his
light skin, he would be an outsider for not being black or white. But thanks to him being able to speak
different languages, he could fit in most groups. In many instances, Noah realized how language could
change your perception of your color (56).

Nsa Spying Through Smart Phones
NSA Spying Through Smart Phones Smart phones have become a major part of daily life. They allow
people all around the world to communicate with each other instantly. Smart phones enable people to
access all the information they need in mere seconds using the Internet. Most people go about their
days without any worry while using their smart phones. Smart phones have been a tool by the public
for many years now, but they have also been used as a tool for something a little more nefarious.
Background on NSA The NSA is the National Security Agency. This is a government agency tasked
with monitoring, collecting, and processing information from all around the globe. The NSA uses this
information to keep track of the whereabouts of people of interest for the United States, and they use it
to determine what action needs to be taken to protect the US. This includes spying on allies of the
United States, such as Germany, France, the UK, and other nations around the world. However, they
also have been proven to be spying on not only the US s allies, but also, its own citizens.
How They Have Access The NSA has been performing mass surveillance on United States citizens
since as early as 2001. They have teamed up with AT T and other mass communication companies to
have access to phone records and internet traffic to keep an eye on possible terrorist activities
(Electronic Frontier Foundation). People use their smart phones every day to talk, send email, and

External Influences In Lord Of The Flies
External Influences and Their Effects on Children Fragile. Naive. Innocent. These are all
characteristics of children. Adolescence is a time to develop character, and learn valuable life lessons.
However, when children do not have guidance from adults, these lessons are not learned. Lord of the
Flies, by William Golding focuses on children, and the effects isolation has on them. In the novel, a
group of schoolboys are stranded on a desert island after a plane crash. Shortly after, they elect a
leader and attempt to survive. The boys are faced with many challenges, both internal and external.
These hardships and the lack of structure caused the boys to revert to savage behavior. At first, being
on the island seems like all fun and games, however, the boys come to realize the only beast was
inside themselves. Golding s depiction of childhood being a time of tribulation and terror proves to
readers that without society to set rules in place, people will eventually regress and act savagely,
because of lack of regulation, the pressure to conform, and the selection of Jack as the new leader.
Children are fragile. Even though children start off innocent, the lack of regulation can shatter that. In
Lord of the Flies, the absence of rules and guidance dissolved the boys innocence and started their
regression to savagery. The first incident where the boys face a lack of regulation is when the
protagonist, Ralph, stands on the terrace and removes his clothes shortly after the crash.

Captain America has significant relationships with both Carter women in the MCU. In his first film,

Robinson Voyage Thesis
For the last two weeks in class we have touched upon the topic of colonizing.we come to this topic
point by reading four different text to the virginian voyage , robinson crusoe , the white man,s burden ,
and the sacred mission of civilization . So far we have been asked to pick one of the following text of
class to concentrate on and to answer three questions that was given to us. In which i pick to the
virginian voyage by michael drayton to focus on. The questions given was 1.) how do colonizers see
themselves? , 2.) how do the colonizer see their mission in colonizing the new world? , 3.) how do
colonizers think that the colonized see them? . So i belive that this poem is most fitted to answer those
questions. The first question ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To answer this the author told readers that the colonizers believes that the land would be perfect , so
they are going to claim it. For example in the fourth stanza it states to get the peale and gold ro in
other words its saying they want to win the prizes/resources of the new land. And the next part after
this it says where nature hath in store fowle, venison, and fish and the fruitfull st soyle... Three
harvests more all greater than you wish which is saying that they belive that there s going to be more
food and good weather for harvest. Another example to show that the colonizer believed it was going
to be a perfect land was in stanza nine it s where as the lushious smell of that delicious land , above
the seas that flowers, the cleere wind throwes, your hearts to swell approaching the deare stand. to sum
that up he believes that the land will have nice weather and beautiful land fulled with flower. And with
all of this they belive once they get there its all theirs, which leads us to the third question. Third
question that was given to us was how do the colonizers think that the colonized see them? . I claimed
that the colonized are not there but the people from their old country are. I claim this because they
think no one is there at all. For example whose reading shall inflame men to seeks fame this is

The External Environment Of Heineken
External environment
According to research (In home drinking, UK, June 2009), there is a decline in demand for beer. As
people are stimulated to have a healthier lifestyle, demand for beer has slightly dropped. As supply
remains constant and demand drops, chances are Heineken gets stuck with superfluous inventory.
Furthermore, in the UK in 2008 alone, tax on beer has been increased by 18%, discouraging people to
consume beer. This rapid change in environment did not get any response from Heineken. As tax
increased by 18%, Heineken raised its prices by 18% (or more) as well, as did their competitors. After
all, profit margins still have to be kept by every profit organisation.

In organisational structure, the culture part refers to a system of shared meaning within an
organisation, as is explained by Robbins and Barnwell.
Heineken claims that its culture is based on four fundamental principles: respect, passion, code of
business conduct and enjoy responsibly. These principles confer high values to the firm, as it acts in a
sustainable way and tries to create the maximum value for the customers. However, these principles
are given by the company itself, thus cannot be entirely reliable as it tries to promote itself. It is not
possible to identify the full truth about Heineken s culture, because the company has never been
involved in any major scandal.
Another interesting feature of Heinekens internal environment can be found in the annual report of
Heineken, which makes clear that the majority of permanent contracts is held by men; the number of
men with a permanent contract is 53,679, whereas only 12,649 women have a permanent contract at
Heineken. This fact shows that the company is predominately masculine (, but it may be important to
note that almost half of the directors on the board of directors are female). However the company
should try to overcome this discrepancy, in order to prevent any accuses of Heineken hiring and
promoting men rather

unrealistic fantasy love and romance and impractical ideals of women. It has become a popular culture
phenomenon in the Western countries, as well as Australia; bringing in remarkable revenue for media
companies like Network Ten. Network Ten has a high return from airing this show and others amidst
its continuous annual losses. One cannot but wonder how a show like The Bachelor Australia, which

something that one can win as a prize in a competition. In it, twenty five girls compete while sharing

bachelor then proposes to the remaining one for marriage. The Bachelor Australia is a pop culture

Analysis Of The Great Mother Archetype
After consciousness passes through the uroboric stage, the next archetypal symbol Neumann offers is
that of the Great Mother. Similar to the uroboros, the Great Mother typically enters the mythical realm
as the first sexed being within it. Still possessing the ability to create without a partner, this figure is
often linked to nature, fertility and the unconscious. At this stage, the ego has not fully established
independence from its unconscious source, which is apparent in the sexed son lovers, created by the
Great Mother to beget more creation unto her world (often at the sacrifice of the male counterpart).
Diotima s variation of the origin of Love (Eros) demonstrates an interesting embodiment of the Great
Mother Archetype ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this way, the nature of Love is hermaphroditic, not in the sense that it hasn t escaped the uroboric
stage development with an undeveloped germ like ego floating in a vast sea of unconsciousness; but
rather that this god, this spirit, this being marks a true return of the fundamental unity the uroboros
represents. Through its conscious will Love seeks to attain the fullness ardently desired by its
unconscious, willfully ignorant that any beauty or wisdom it holds will slip away the second he grasps
for a second handful. I find this origin not only provocative but also profoundly moving. I also think it
has interesting implications for Neumann s interpretation of the role of the feminine and masculine
within the Uroboros (and the Great Mother as well). Neumann himself says that, Hunger and food are
the prime movers of mankind (27). Applying this declaration to Diotima s myth, the connection to
Poverty as the prime mover is more than apparent. It is precisely this emptiness, this lacking which
drives her to join with Resource and create Love, and in this sense, it is she, not the masculine element
who acts as the initial movement, the procreative thrust (Neumann 18). Essentially, Woman is always

Role of Human Capital in Economic Development
CHAPTER ONE INTRODUCTION
a) BACKGROUND
Kenya is one of the less Developed countries that are endowed with relatively good levels of resources
and labor. However, there are still a lot to be done to tap those resources into viable productivity and
industrialization levels. One way of achieving this is by maximizing the use of both physical and
human capital. In or case we shall consider human capital. Human capital, according to Adam Smith
refers to the acquired and useful abilities of all the inhabitants or members of the society. The
acquisition of such talents by the maintenance of the acquirer, during his education, study or
apprenticeship, always costs a real expense, which is a capital fixed and realized, as it were in his ...

 What is the role of human capital in economic development in east African countries?
 Is healthy human capital and other non economic inputs are part of the determinants of economic
growth in east African countries?
d) OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
 To find out the role of human capital in economic development in east African countries.
 To determine whether healthy human capital and other non economic inputs are part of the
determinants of economic growth in east African countries.
e) SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
This study is seeking to establish the relationship between human capital and economic growth and
development in east Africa. By so doing, we will be able to know with certainty whether human
capital is actually one of the reasons for economic growth in east Africa, in which case the findings
will be used to establish the right proportion of human capital needed to mix with other economic
inputs so as to facilitate sustainable economic development in the region. It also gives an indication of
the possible way to rate human capital against other

Deucalion Compare And Contrast
Favour Owolabi Mrs. Henderson Honors World Lit. February 3, 2015 Mankind s Death and Rebirth
Being an honorable person is an important attribute to many people. Noah and Deucalion were two
highly honorable men. These men and their families were the only two men out of thousands to
survive a fate that changed mankind forever. Noah was a man from Babylon who feared God and
found favor in His sight. Deucalion was a man from Greece who pleased the gods and was able to stay
pure in his heart. Both men had many similar attributes and purposes for life, but each had differences
that made their stories unique. A commonality in both stories is that mankind harbored evil in their
hearts and had no regard for God/Zeus provoking their wraths. According to the Grecian flood story,
men became unbearably wicked and no longer lived at peace with each other. They were always at
war with each other having no law or safety in the land. In the Bible, God saw how evil men were and
how there was nothing but immorality in mans heart. The depravity and iniquity of man are what led
to God and Zeus s wrath. Men became lawless, it was as if every man was for themselves. This
corruption is what made God and Zeus to become weary and to regret ever creating man. But as the

The Christian Influence on The Middle Ages Essay
In 312 CE, Roman Emperor Constantine achieved a victory at the Milvian Bridge. The night previous
to this battle, Constantine dreamt of a cross inscribed in hoc signo vinces, in this sign you will
conquer. As trivial as this dream may seem, it ultimately signified the beginning of the rise of
Christianity. With his victory, Emperor Constantine converted to Christianity and supported and
encouraged it throughout the empire. In 313 CE, another milestone occurred as the emperors, both
Constantine I of the West and Licinius of the East, signed the Edict of Milan declaring that the
Diocletianic Persecution would end, and Christianity would be tolerated in the Roman Empire. This
religion began to flourish as people quickly converted from pagan ... Show more content on

One of the most important contributors of this time was Saint Benedict of Nursia. To guide Christians
pursuing such a life, St. Benedict wrote Regula Benedicti, The Rule of Saint Benedict. This book was
composed of precepts for monks to follow as they lived in communal monasteries under an abbot.
Ideally, poverty, chastity, and obedience were the most sought after traits that one should follow. Saint
Benedict instructed monks to participate daily in written prayers, devotionals, manual labor, and
commanded a pledge of poverty, chastity, and obedience (Benedict).
Because these rules are not just spiritually beneficial, secular impacts were gained from the
monasteries way of life. Monks became a hero of the people of the medieval times in countless ways.
These monks were examples to all of a righteous way of living. When monks devoted their lives to
God, others saw the devotion exemplified in daily life. The humility the monks strived for implicated
a humble heart , serious and humble speech , doing nothing except what is commended by his
superiors , and being content with the worst of everything (Benedict). This lifestyle could infinitely
increase the quality of life for any person as it provided an example for people to become helpful,
moral citizens, regardless of religious affiliation. As Christianity and monasteries became more
popular amongst people, monks traveled to

Critical Reflection On Ethics
Critical Reflection
All three authors take a slightly different approach in explaining ethics with the analogies used, but
they are not that different at their core. Bonhoeffer (1995) describes a religious approach that
compares and contrasts the relationship with Jesus Christ and the influence on the ethical choices of
an individual. Palmer (2004), on the other hand, explains ethics using the wilderness and social
headliners to illustrate the current divide that exists. Finally, Borgmann (2006) uses a political
description of compromises for infrastructure that shapes the ethical views of the society such as the
Interstate Highway System that influenced future choices that now have consequences that need to be
managed. While the analogies are different, the root descriptions encompass a basic principle that the
conduct of an individual will determine the true ethical character of that person, but the individual
requires the support and direction from the society to truly influence a positive ethical change. The
expanse of that society is where the authors begin to divide with Bonhoeffer s (1995) intended
audience being countries based on Christian beliefs of the west, Borgmann (2006) concentrating on
the United States, and Palmer (2004) focusing on the individual within a specified community that
feeds to larger communities.
Each author describes in various methods how the actions of individuals will determine the nature of
the ethics they possess, but that the individual

Essay about Divine Wind
The Divine Wind describes an Australia that is tarnished by racism, hatred and distrust, and yet the
novel ends on an optimistic note. Do you agree?
The novel is set during a World War. The tension and separation of races during a war seemed evident
in Australia. As a multicultural country including Japanese and Aborigine population, conflicting
attitudes towards these races had to be imminent. I entirely agree with the above statement due to the
unequal treatment of the aborigines, tension between the Japanese population and characters such as

Hart s lack of trust for characters in the novel such as Mitsy and Jamie are just some signs of Disher

Training Managers to Motivate Employees
Abstract There are a variety of management styles in the field of training and development. With there
being so many styles, can training help managers adopt a more autonomy supportive motivating style
toward employees. Will the employees of these managers in turn show a greater workplace
engagement? Research shows managers that participate in training, have a more significantly
supportive management style. This paper will discuss the managers motivating styles and the benefits
to employees when managers become more autonomy supportive.
One of the most challenging parts of a manager s job is the managerial effort to support employees

Autonomous motivation is self authored and personally endorsed as one s own (Ryan Deci, 2000).
There are two types of autonomous motivation that are associated with employees functioning,
intrinsic motivation and identified regulation. Intrinsic motivation involves employees engaging in an
activity because they find it interesting and satisfying. They usually express this with comments like, I
enjoy what I do. The other type of autonomous motivation is identified regulation. This involves
identifying with the activity performed and the time spent seems important and worth the effort. Most
employees express identified regulation through comments as, The work I do is important to me.
Controlled motivation is that which is pressure based and imposed by forces (i.e. people, rewards,
deadlines) outside the person (Ryan Deci, 2000). A type of controlled motivation is external
regulation. This involves employees doing an activity because they expect to gain an external
contingency to do so. The motivation is externally controlled because the employees are energized
into to working by incentives and to avoid consequences. If the incentives are not present and the
consequences are absent, the employees are not motivated to do action. These people can be often
heard expressing themselves such as, I work because the boss is watching. Many managers agree that
motivation is important and that the quality of employees motivation is important,

Income Tax And Its Effect On Total Income
Income tax brings a total revenue of nearly $160 billion. It s the largest source of revenue from tax
with a percentage of 47.1% of total tax revenue is taken up by income tax. However questions must be
asked about what if the income tax is changed. The three issues which follow this change are as
follows:
Increasing income tax effects on total revenue/ tax take
Decreasing the income tax effect on fairness, equity and revenue
Tax mix if income tax is increased/ decreased what needs to be decreased/increased
Income level $ Amount of tax
0 18,200 $0
18,201 37,000 19 cents for each $ over $18,200
37,001 80,000 $3,572 + 32.5 cents for every $ over $37,000
80,001 180,00 $17,547 + 37 cents for every $ over $80,000

Under the Howard government in 2003 there was a major economic booms which lead to high
exporting from Australia, including Iron ore and coal. As a result of the economic boom the
corporation tax increased dramatically. The effect of this was for John Howard to decrease the income
tax on five occasions and superannuation concessions were extended. This was John Howard s gift to
the taxpaying middle and upper classes. It was clearly a response perhaps understandable to the export
boom. The trouble was it had the effect of increasing budget deficits in later years when tax revenues
declined. In particular, budget deficits in the Labor (Gillard) years were increased by Howard s Gift.

The Christ Of The Covenants
The Christ of the Covenants demonstrates the relationship between five covenants God instigated with
Adam, Abraham, Noah, Moses, and David in the Old Testament, and how they are reflected in Jesus
birth, death, and resurrection in the New Testament. In answering four basic questions, I discovered
this main idea to be true time and time again. Robertson exhibits his vast knowledge of the subject
with a concisely structured index outlining one clear point for the entire novel.
In his book, The Christ of the Covenants, O. Palmer Robertson views the covenants necessary to the
understanding of the Scriptures. They are mandatory for us to attempt to interpret the grand scheme of
redemption. While the actual word covenant may not appear in Scripture until Genesis 6, some of the
five old covenants (Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and David) were established prior to this. The
performance rituals of the covenants were described in depth, thus providing sufficient proof that they
did indeed exist. The main message of Scripture lies in redemption, or the Gospel story of the New
Testament. Without the Old Testament covenants, we would not be able to understand why and how
God fulfills them later on through the birth, death, and resurrection of his son Jesus Christ.
Unity describes how the various covenants all relate to one another, beginning with God s covenant
with Adam in Creation and the eventual redemption found in Christ. There are two ways the covenants
are unified:

Essay on The Growing Population
A Growing Population: Problem or Excuse? The current worldwide population is around 6.9 billion
and is expected to reach 9 billion by 2050 (Baird). This projected population number is down from the
once predicted 16 billion (Baird) and while some are not concerned others are worried by any increase
in population. Population growth is discussed in the articles Too Many People? by Vanessa Baird;
Population Control: How Can There Possibly Be Too Many of Us? by Frank Furedi; and The
Population Bomb Revisited, by Paul R. Ehrlich and Anne H. Ehrlich. Baird and Furedi concur that the

grow and that it will begin to decline and stabilize. She believes that this should add perspective to the
worry over population growth and points out that one factor in our population growth being temporary
is a declining fertility rate (Baird). Ehrlich and Ehrlich also acknowledge a relationship between birth
rates and population growth and offer finding ways to reduce the birthrate as one solution to the
population problem (68). When discussing population growth the authors offer their perspectives on
population control programs (family planning). Ehrlich and Ehrlich stay true to the message of their
book when acknowledging the positive role of government sponsored programs in education ,
education for women, and programs making contraceptives more accessible (65), in reducing the birth
rate. Baird comments on Australian Demographer Peter McDonald pointing out the reason population
will not reach 16 billion is due to the success of family planning. Baird proposes a chicken and egg
scenario in which education lowers the fertility rate and a lower fertility rate can equal more
education. She explains benefits of a declining

Barbarians At The Gate
The Fall of RJR Nabisco

Bryan Burrough and John Helyar
Barbarians at the Gate has been called one of the most influential business books of all time the
definitive account of the frenzy that overtook Wall Street in October and November of 1988 from the
leveraged buyout of RJR Nabisco, Inc. by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts Co. for $24.9 billion. It was the
largest takeover in Wall Street history. It was co written by Bryan Burrough and John Helyar, both
journalists for the Wall Street Journal. They wrote a series of articles about the takeover attempt. In
1989, they obtained additional information for the book by doing over 100 interviews. They

Although his control of the leveraged buyout was quickly usurped by the investment bankers and
lawyers, he remained a central figure throughout the story.
Shearson Lehman had pressed for the implementation of the normal gun to the head strategy, offering
the board of directors a complete, fully financed bid and giving the board little alternative but to
accept it. Johnson, believing that he had the board under control, had refused and the eager Shearson
Lehman had reluctantly agreed. Largely because of the unprecedented size of the proposed leveraged
buyout, the management Shearson Lehman group grossly underestimated the potential competition
and assumed that it would be an uncontested takeover. The estimated $15.5 billion of bank financing
necessary to complete the $17.6 billion buyout would use up approximately three fourths of the bank
funds available worldwide for a single transaction (Burrough, 169).
At first, in the bidding war to buy out RJR Nabisco, Johnson appeared to hold all the cards. He
certainly believed so. He was convinced that the board would approve his offer because they needed
him. He seems to have believed they liked him, too, and were his friends. But he had made many
enemies on his climb up the corporate ladder, and several of these conspired in the end to deprive him
of the ultimate prize in management, and hundreds of thousands of dollars in personal earnings.

The head coach Chip Kelly has been up against the Lions once during a game in 2013 when he first

Lions could have advantage during Thanksgiving football event
The Thanksgiving football experts say that Detroit looks to be the team with the advantage so far
leading into today s game. Detroit was 1 7 ahead of their bye week, and they have won their last two
outings. The Lions have played every Thanksgiving since 1934, so it s like a tradition for them to be
playing football today.
The experts say the team needs more offensive production, but they were successful last week when
they played the Raiders and used a three back system complete with Ameer Abdullah, Theo Riddick
and Joique Bell. If they want to do well today, wideout Calvin Johnson also needs to keep up the good
work, as well.
Cornerback Darius Slay is also someone to watch, since he has had a factor in the team s defensive

remain close to the Eagles wideouts, then he can likely keep the pressure going on

The Importance Of Design In Nature
Every particle in nature represents the complex, and intricate structure of the universe. The human
body alone undergoes many different processes per second, and yet, is able to do so almost without
error. It s almost undeniable that there is design in nature, however, many question whether or not this
design just came about or if it implies that a designer exists. Science and religion attempt to explain
design in nature in a much different context, and seem to be in conflict with one another about the
existence of a designer. Arguably, I believe that there is a loophole, in which both science and religion
can be integrated as one, and can function together to explain design in nature. Beginning with the Big
Bang, and Creationism to Evolution, and design in nature, religion provides science with answers and
vice versa. God is not the sole worker in nature, nor is he the supreme power, but he allows for natural
processes to take their course. Academics from a vast range of fields can all agree that there is design
in nature, meaning that nature doesn t consist of random things thrown together without a purpose.
Instead, almost everything in nature is intricately designed to achieve certain tasks. Design in nature
can be compared to a jigsaw puzzle in the sense that each piece is designed to fit another piece, and
they match up perfectly. For example, when our DNA goes through the replication process, an error is
made at approximately every one hundred thousand nucleotide.

clear to understand and enunciated each syllable. As the speech progresses, it seems as if I ve lost
some confidence, I use more filler words, and repeat myself a little bit. My ending was very weak, and
it is something I realized as soon as I said it. My plan was to do a formal conclusion, thanking the

The Theory Of Evolution And The Origin Of Species
The Theory of Evolution: Grievously Hypothetical *Rough Draft* First Publicized in Charles Darwin
s On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in
the Struggle for Life, The Theory of Evolution has been a widely excepted theory all around the
world. According to the Pew Research Center, approximately 60% of all American adults believe in
Darwinian evolution (Public s Views on Human Evolution). This is an absurdly large amount of the
United States population given how remarkably flawed Darwin s theory really is. As stated in On the
Origin of Species, the Theory of Evolution claims that ... new species in the course of time are formed
through natural selection (Darwin 86). The heart of this theory is descent with modification. This
suggests that over countless generations, minute genetic variations have occurred due to mutations.
These genetic variations have the ability to alter how a species interacts with its environment. If the
genetic variation deems beneficial to the species likeliness to survive and reproduce, the mutation will
be passed down to its offspring. Through many years of completely random mutations deeming to
beneficial, large enough changes occur in a species for it to have evolved into a completely new
species; this is where that phrase origin of species comes from in the title of Darwin s publication. The
Theory of Evolution also encompasses common descent, an idea claiming that: ... all living

My First Twenty Years Of One s Life

I have reached the majority of my physical attributes for adulthood. I have gone from a babbling

E. Berk s psychological research to explain how I have learned to grow and adapt physically, socially,
emotionally, and cognitively. As history progresses, the evolution of physical changes to the human
body seems to move right along with it. According to Berk s studies, the secular trends in physical
growth over the past 150 years have led to taller and heavier children in industrialized nations (p 413).
Personally, my growth was lower than these new trends. I was average height, but I have stayed below
weight even as I am maturing. In the prior family generations before me, many males experienced
their growth spurt up into the twenties, so there is the slim chance that the usual teenage spurts didn t

Nothing is worse than being treated like a farm animal. Stripped of all of your rights as a person. Even
the right to live: I no longer felt anything except the lashes of the whip... Only the first really hurt
(Wiesel 57). The author wrote this novel to make sure people knew the true story of how the Jews had
their right to live stripped away from them: The idea of dying, ceasing to be, began to fascinate me. To
no longer exist. To no longer feel the excruciating pain of my foot. To no longer feel anything, neither
fatigue nor cold, nothing. To break rank, to let myself slide to the side of the road... (Wiesel

The Medical Malpractice Liability System
A tort action is brought about through provisions of private law and asserts that one party has
experienced harm from the actions of another party and that the injured person seeks compensation for
the harm (Pozgar Santucci, 2009). Tort reforms are connected to shifts in medical malpractice law
since the 1980 s when moves were made to change from court decided Common Law to incorporation
of statutes from many state legislatures (Waters, Budetti, Claxton, Lundy, 2007). This paper will
discuss the current state of tort law, the need for reform, and proposals for effective reform. Tort Law
Today The medical malpractice liability system in the United States has two main purposes: (1) to
provide compensation to patients injured through ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This potential for legal action by patients incentivizes physicians to purchase malpractice insurance as
a protection against the devastation of attempting to pay such extreme amounts out of pocket; and
whether due to the high cost of claims, the opportunity to profit or other forces, malpractice insurance
premiums continue to climb similar to premiums for most other insurance types (Rakoczy, 2013).
Proponents of reform also point to a tendency of physicians to protect against legal fault finding
through over or under utilization of diagnostics and procedures, known as defensive medicine. For
example, although empirical evidence has long supported avoidance of cesarean deliveries at 39
weeks in the absence of certain medical indications and demonstrated no better outcomes than vaginal
deliveries, a high rate of cesarean deliveries continues in the United States, which allows the physician
to demonstrate they have done all they can to assure a healthy delivery and position for defense
against malpractice (Braunstein, 2012). Complicated by a healthcare system that financially rewards
physicians for providing more services, approximately thirty percent of diagnostics, procedures, and
hospitalizations are unnecessary, do not improve the patient s condition and may, in fact, cause harm
(Braunstein, 2012). Opponents of tort reform state that the purposes of such tort actions are a
protection for the patient and that placing caps on the amount of damages awarded

Role Of Aegir In Vikirs
During the times of voyages the Vikings loved and feared the ocean. The reason behind this is because
of the god Aegir. Aegir is the god of the ocean and rules virtually every ocean in The Nine Worlds. He
is seen as a vigorous elemental god. Aegir was a huge part of the and ocean because of this people
have said when their has been a ship wreck it had gone into Aegir s jaws . He also provoked storms
and sea, either to do it carelessly or just because he liked to do it. The Vikings loved and feared him
because if he was not on your side your voyage could end badly. Because of this the Vikings often
held sacrifices for him.27
In Norse mythology it is believed that the afterlife you come to revolves around how you lived your
life. Vikings who fell in battle were considered to be the bravest Vikings and they would obtain the
biggest reward in their afterlife. In Norse mythology the two realms that were linked to their religious
beliefs was Valhalla and Helheim and they believed that you would end up in one or the other.

It is widely believed that the Vikings cremated the bodies of the dead which means they would burn
the body at really hot temperatures making the flesh and bones turn into ash. After the body had turned
into ash the Vikings would either scatter, bury or sail it out to the sea. The Vikings believed that by
cremating the body the smoke would help them transfer them to their legitimate destination in the
afterlife. If they did not use the method of cremation they used inhumation, which meant that you
would bury the body in its present state under the ground. If they used this method they would usually
place dirt or stones on top of the body. Historians have also stated that it is believed that the Vikings
did not use inhumation until they learned about

Looking For Alibrandi And Winnie The Pooh
I m not going to lie, I m quite scared, and anxious, even terrified, but as Max Lucado once said, Meet
your fear with faith , both faith in yourself, and faith in the people around you because sometimes a
different perspective is a smile away. This belief in others is clearly communicated in Kate Wood s
Looking for Alibrandi and beloved children s book Winnie the Pooh by A.A. Milne.
Josie Alibrandi, the protagonist of Looking for Alibrandi, marches through her life without her father,
deeming him as useless just like all dads , but as her life progresses through her final year of formal
education, her entire world turns upside down, illustrating to her the value of a father in her life. Josie

Winnie the Pooh, although a children s book, still conveys the value of working off others, as a means
of personal growth and changing perspective. Winnie, along with his friends, venture their world and
coming together to work off each other s strengths and weaknesses. Each individual character has a
blatant difficult that they struggle with throughout their countless adventures and stories, such as
piglet being an anxious mess, and Eeyore struggling to find a reason to even bother doing anything.
Yet as their adventures progress, so does their friendship, constantly evolving and adapting, working
off each other to grow as people, and overall, change their perspective. A prime example of how each
individual assists in changing the perspective of another, is the tale of when Winnie and his friends get
lost in the woods. Piglet, being the only one not with them, is terrified of both the dark and the forest,
but he conquers his fears, not for himself, but for his friends. He changed what he saw from a
nightmare into a plain, old tree. Winnie the Pooh may be a book directed at children, but it still shares
the same concepts and beliefs that even the greatest narratives present. Changing perspective can be a
difficult process, but with help from others, it can be

Gender Roles In Rebecca Solnit s Cassandra Amongst The...
Hysteria derives from the greek work uterus. That notion refers to women everywhere having to live
by the myth of gender roles. Most of the time these stereotypes turn into name calling which result in
a harassment of words sticking long enough to the point where it s deemed as normal. The
significance of that myth by people who endure verbal attacks correlates to how the rest of the crowd
then perceives the judged. The consequences that follow are in the form of reputation creating these
social norms that are unfair. In the tale Cassandra Amongst the Creeps, author Rebecca Solnit
exemplifies the topic of how myths create social norms with the setting stone story of the goddess
denying a Gods sexual request. As a result the curse of disbelief and tainted credibility of women was
made normal as that myth stayed alive throughout history even to this day. In conjunction to Solnit,
Lauren Holmes author of Barbara the Slut exhibits the modern setting of a high school to portray how
impactful perception and credibility derived from that myth are. Both authors entertain how certain
attitudes perpetuate future problems that can destroy characters esteem. Barbara s scarred credibility
was in result of other people s false conscious of her character. Barbara the Slut s story represents the
meaning of Solnit s belief of myth changing reality by exhibiting how women s sexuality is tied to
perception, and how that perception changes individual s credibility and reputation.

Cognitive Bias In The Los Angeles Police Department
Back in the late 1990 s the Los Angeles Police Department was hit by a scandal in which police
officers in the Rampart division were accused of various crimes which ranged from planting evidence,
perjury, filing false police reports and physical abuse of innocent victims and other crimes. The
officers involved were in a special gang task force called CRASH (community resources against street
hoodlums) which was created to combat gang related activity and crime in LAPD areas. It was a
major scandal because police officers are held to a higher moral standard they are expected to not only
uphold the law but abide by it as well. Cognitive bias is a systematic error in thinking that affects the
decisions and judgments that people make. (Cherry) This scandal shows how cognitive bias has
played out with not only the officers who committed the crimes but also by the detectives led the
investigation and the chief of police himself.
The first incidence occurred in 1997 when undercover LAPD officer Lyga shot and killed Gaines an
off duty officer. Lyga did not know Gaines was a police officer and feared for his life because Gaines
was threatening him with a gun in a road rage incidence. This case garnered attention because a white
officer shot and killed a black officer. What was discovered during this investigation was that off duty
police officers were providing security services for renowned gang member Suge Knight and his
record label Death Row Records. The detective at the time

St. Louis, Missouri is famous for the Gateway Arch and the Zoo; however, the Saint Louis Art Museum (SLAM) is something that can t be overlooked. At a recent trip, I found a landscape painting that shows the true meaning of human interaction. This panting is called Extensive Landscape With Travellers on a Country Road and was painted by Jan Brueghel the Elder around 1608 to 1610. Some background information about the infamous painter Jan Brueghel is that he was born in 1568 in Brussels, Belgium. He was a painter of immense diversity. Their dependence on the road to move goods and obtain food from place to place. Brueghel s painting still hold true today because people depend on roads for interaction and movement of goods. When gazing at the painting, I can see myself stuck in time; performing the different tasks alongside the road. Personal Lessons Learned From an early age I was taught the importance of personal integrity and the importance of being adaptable and prepared for any stressful situation that life may throw at you. During my time as a boy scout I was constantly taught to be prepared and to also to always be at the service of others. At the end of our camping trips we would be told repeatedly to leave this place, better than when you found it and this lesson has translated into my own life. I want to make the world a better (safer) place than when I found it. As I grew up, these lessons continued to play a key role in the decisions I made and have made me into the man that I ve become today. While in middle school and into high school I had the opportunity to be exposed to many cultures that were different than my own. I volunteered weekly through my church in a predominately Hispanic community that was located in the Port of Houston. The neighborhood was extremely impoverished and many of the students were involved in gangs, or had one or more parents that were incarcerated. (Pritchard) The knowledge of God the Trinity is the center of the Christian faith. Yet many believers have got confused in understanding the true natures of the personalities and relationships of each person in God the Trinity. Endless questions continuously appear, again and again, giving Christians a sense of extremely misty confusion towards the magnificent attributes of every person in the Trinity. Early saints or early Christian teachers, have been discussing the Trinity deeply and deliberately for decades, as it is one of the most complex teachings written in the Bible. One of the most reliable doctrines of the Trinity is The Holy Trinity Doctrine. The Holy Trinity Doctrine was one of the doctrines created during the first few ages where Christianity just started developing. This doctrine was created in the Council of Nicea in 325 AD. During this discussion, diverse points were given by theologists. Thoughts named as Tritheism, Unitarism, and Arianism are present. Tritheism focuses that there are three separate Gods, promoting polytheism, Unitarism focuses on God the Father most, and separates Christ and the Holy Spirit into a different category of deity, thus changing their divinity, and Arianism promotes Jesus Christ as a creation of God during the Creation. Other than these three, there are also other strong doctrines about the Trinity from the Apostles Creed, the Nicene Creed which came from the Council of Nicea, and the Athanasian ... • 6. Innate And The Immune System In this essay the link between the two different parts of the immune system should be explained. The immune system consists of the innate immune system on the one hand and the adaptive immune system on the other. The innate system reacts fast and protects the body through barriers or special cells, but the specificity of this system is very low. Contrary to the innate system acts the adaptive system. It is needed if the innate system fails and therefore takes more time to get activated, but its specificity is very high. This essay should describe, how these two systems work together and how they are linked up to each other. The immune system consists of two parts, the innate and the adaptive part. The biggest difference is, that the adaptive immune system is very specific for certain pathogens, and it has the ability to remember. That means, that the adaptive immune system gets better after each infection with the same pathogen. (Roitt, et al., 1996) The first contact from a pathogen with the body is always with the innate immune system. Three Polls Abstract The objective of this report was to analyse three polls each from different sources, to identify whether they were biased and unfair or unbiased and fair or perhaps a concoction of the two and if the location of the sources affected the reliability and accuracy of the poll. This was done by depicting it into a table with strengths and weaknesses of each of the three polls adjacent to each other. The findings showed all three of the polls were with biased and unfair or unbiased and fair, none of them were a mixture of the two. The sources of the polls did not influence the reliability and accuracy of the poll, rather it contradicted it. Introduction The aim of the report is to investigate whether the polls analysed in the report are fair and unbiased or unfair and biased or a concoction of both. Before any judgements are declared, the definition of what makes a fair and unbiased poll must be outlined. A poll is where people are asked to give their opinions on a subjective or objective matter. A poll diverges into nine types; benchmark polls, tracking polls, bushfire polls, entrance polls, exit polls, deliberative opinion polls, opinion polls, push polls and straw polls. A benchmark poll is generally a short and simple survey of respondent s opinion designated to help political candidates craft their campaigns. Tracking polls are repeated over several consecutive days to create a picture of where opinion is moving over time, to enable a rough report of the campaigns. The bushfire polls are polls taken during the period between the benchmark and tracking polls. The number of brushfire polls taken by a campaign is determined by how competitive the race is and how much money the campaign has to spend. These polls usually focus on likely voters and the ... • 9. Carbon Dioxide And Its Effect On Earth s World In today s atmosphere, carbon dioxide (CO2) amounts to 400 parts per million (ppm), but it hasn t always been that high, or low, depending on what we are comparing it to. It is a trace gas that is vital to Earth s atmosphere and has been around since the creation of Earth s first atmosphere, which occurred shortly after the planet s creation. The advent of Earth s second atmosphere happened when lighter gases such as hydrogen escaped into space or were bound to molecules, leaving gases like nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and other gases that were the product of volcanism to make up the majority of the atmosphere. This volcanic activity was fueled by gases that came to Earth following the late heavy bombardment of huge asteroids . Following ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Leading up to the present, levels of CO2 have fluctuated due to geochemical processes such suspension of the gas in sediment, silicate rock weathering, and volcanism. Also, human activity plays a large part in carbon deposition into the atmosphere predominantly through the burning of fossil fuels and the cultivation of livestock. On a drastically larger time scale the carbon cycle is ever so slightly reducing atmospheric CO2 , which will ultimately bring the concentration down near zero, causing all life on the planet to be wiped out. The carbon cycle, including both terrestrial and aquatic processes, is the foundation under which photosynthesis is possible. Aside from the carbon cycle, CO2 is a key element in many other natural processes and phenomena such as the Greenhouse Effect and Global Warming . After the advent of the second atmosphere, the atmosphere had ~100 times as much gas as the current atmosphere , which contained a large amount of CO2 which is believed to have kept the Earth from freezing over. Over the next few billion years the water vapor condensed to form oceans and rain that started to absorb CO2. Eventually 50% of the carbon in the atmosphere would end up suspended in the ocean. This caused ocean acidification, which is the decrease in the pH level of the ocean. Adolescence is a time to develop character, and learn valuable life lessons. However, when children do not have guidance from adults, these lessons are not learned. Lord of the Flies, by William Golding focuses on children, and the effects isolation has on them. In the novel, a group of schoolboys are stranded on a desert island after a plane crash. Shortly after, they elect a leader and attempt to survive. The boys are faced with many challenges, both internal and external. These hardships and the lack of structure caused the boys to revert to savage behavior. At first, being on the island seems like all fun and games, however, the boys come to realize the only beast was inside themselves. Golding s depiction of childhood being a time of tribulation and terror proves to readers that without society to set rules in place, people will eventually regress and act savagely, because of lack of regulation, the pressure to conform, and the selection of Jack as the new leader. Children are fragile. Even though children start off innocent, the lack of regulation can shatter that. In Lord of the Flies, the absence of rules and guidance dissolved the boys innocence and started their regression to savagery. The first incident where the boys face a lack of regulation is when the protagonist, Ralph, stands on the terrace and removes his clothes shortly after the crash. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Similar to the uroboros, the Great Mother typically enters the mythical realm as the first sexed being within it. Still possessing the ability to create without a partner, this figure is often linked to nature, fertility and the unconscious. At this stage, the ego has not fully established independence from its unconscious source, which is apparent in the sexed son lovers, created by the Great Mother to beget more creation unto her world (often at the sacrifice of the male counterpart). In this way, the nature of Love is hermaphroditic, not in the sense that it hasn t escaped the uroboric stage development with an undeveloped germ like ego floating in a vast sea of unconsciousness; but rather that this god, this spirit, this being marks a true return of the fundamental unity the uroboros represents. Through its conscious will Love seeks to attain the fullness ardently desired by its unconscious, willfully ignorant that any beauty or wisdom it holds will slip away the second he grasps for a second handful. I find this origin not only provocative but also profoundly moving. I also think it has interesting implications for Neumann s interpretation of the role of the feminine and masculine within the Uroboros (and the Great Mother as well). Neumann himself says that, Hunger and food are the prime movers of mankind (27). Applying this declaration to Diotima s myth, the connection to Poverty as the prime mover is more than apparent. It is precisely this emptiness, this lacking which drives her to join with Resource and create Love, and in this sense, it is she, not the masculine element who acts as the initial movement, the procreative thrust (Neumann 18). Critical Reflection On Ethics Critical Reflection All three authors take a slightly different approach in explaining ethics with the analogies used, but they are not that different at their core. Bonhoeffer (1995) describes a religious approach that compares and contrasts the relationship with Jesus Christ and the influence on the ethical choices of an individual. Palmer (2004), on the other hand, explains ethics using the wilderness and social headliners to illustrate the current divide that exists. Finally, Borgmann (2006) uses a political description of compromises for infrastructure that shapes the ethical views of the society such as the Interstate Highway System that influenced future choices that now have consequences that need to be managed. While the analogies are different, the root descriptions encompass a basic principle that the conduct of an individual will determine the true ethical character of that person, but the individual requires the support and direction from the society to truly influence a positive ethical change. The expanse of that society is where the authors begin to divide with Bonhoeffer s (1995) intended audience being countries based on Christian beliefs of the west, Borgmann (2006) concentrating on the United States, and Palmer (2004) focusing on the individual within a specified community that feeds to larger communities. There are two types of autonomous motivation that are associated with employees functioning, intrinsic motivation and identified regulation. Intrinsic motivation involves employees engaging in an activity because they find it interesting and satisfying. They usually express this with comments like, I enjoy what I do. The other type of autonomous motivation is identified regulation. This involves identifying with the activity performed and the time spent seems important and worth the effort. Most employees express identified regulation through comments as, The work I do is important to me. Controlled motivation is that which is pressure based and imposed by forces (i.e. people, rewards, deadlines) outside the person (Ryan Deci, 2000). A type of controlled motivation is external regulation. This involves employees doing an activity because they expect to gain an external contingency to do so. The motivation is externally controlled because the employees are energized into to working by incentives and to avoid consequences. The Christ Of The Covenants The Christ of the Covenants demonstrates the relationship between five covenants God instigated with Adam, Abraham, Noah, Moses, and David in the Old Testament, and how they are reflected in Jesus birth, death, and resurrection in the New Testament. In answering four basic questions, I discovered this main idea to be true time and time again. Robertson exhibits his vast knowledge of the subject with a concisely structured index outlining one clear point for the entire novel. In his book, The Christ of the Covenants, O. Palmer Robertson views the covenants necessary to the understanding of the Scriptures. They are mandatory for us to attempt to interpret the grand scheme of redemption. While the actual word covenant may not appear in Scripture until Genesis 6, some of the five old covenants (Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and David) were established prior to this. The performance rituals of the covenants were described in depth, thus providing sufficient proof that they did indeed exist. The main message of Scripture lies in redemption, or the Gospel story of the New Testament. Without the Old Testament covenants, we would not be able to understand why and how God fulfills them later on through the birth, death, and resurrection of his son Jesus Christ. Unity describes how the various covenants all relate to one another, beginning with God s covenant with Adam in Creation and the eventual redemption found in Christ. There are two ways the covenants are unified: ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Shearson Lehman had pressed for the implementation of the normal gun to the head strategy, offering the board of directors a complete, fully financed bid and giving the board little alternative but to accept it. Johnson, believing that he had the board under control, had refused and the eager Shearson Lehman had reluctantly agreed. Largely because of the unprecedented size of the proposed leveraged buyout, the management Shearson Lehman group grossly underestimated the potential competition and assumed that it would be an uncontested takeover. The estimated $15.5 billion of bank financing necessary to complete the $17.6 billion buyout would use up approximately three fourths of the bank funds available worldwide for a single transaction (Burrough, 169). • 34. The Importance Of Design In Nature Every particle in nature represents the complex, and intricate structure of the universe. The human body alone undergoes many different processes per second, and yet, is able to do so almost without error. It s almost undeniable that there is design in nature, however, many question whether or not this design just came about or if it implies that a designer exists. Science and religion attempt to explain design in nature in a much different context, and seem to be in conflict with one another about the existence of a designer. Arguably, I believe that there is a loophole, in which both science and religion can be integrated as one, and can function together to explain design in nature. Beginning with the Big Bang, and Creationism to Evolution, and design in nature, religion provides science with answers and vice versa. God is not the sole worker in nature, nor is he the supreme power, but he allows for natural processes to take their course. Academics from a vast range of fields can all agree that there is design in nature, meaning that nature doesn t consist of random things thrown together without a purpose. Instead, almost everything in nature is intricately designed to achieve certain tasks. Design in nature can be compared to a jigsaw puzzle in the sense that each piece is designed to fit another piece, and they match up perfectly. For example, when our DNA goes through the replication process, an error is made at approximately every one hundred thousand nucleotide. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 36. The Theory Of Evolution And The Origin Of Species The Theory of Evolution: Grievously Hypothetical *Rough Draft* First Publicized in Charles Darwin s On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life, The Theory of Evolution has been a widely excepted theory all around the world. According to the Pew Research Center, approximately 60% of all American adults believe in Darwinian evolution (Public s Views on Human Evolution). This is an absurdly large amount of the United States population given how remarkably flawed Darwin s theory really is. As stated in On the Origin of Species, the Theory of Evolution claims that ... new species in the course of time are formed through natural selection (Darwin 86). The heart of this theory is descent with modification. This suggests that over countless generations, minute genetic variations have occurred due to mutations. These genetic variations have the ability to alter how a species interacts with its environment. If the genetic variation deems beneficial to the species likeliness to survive and reproduce, the mutation will be passed down to its offspring. Through many years of completely random mutations deeming to beneficial, large enough changes occur in a species for it to have evolved into a completely new species; this is where that phrase origin of species comes from in the title of Darwin s publication. Personally, my growth was lower than these new trends. I was average height, but I have stayed below weight even as I am maturing. The Medical Malpractice Liability System A tort action is brought about through provisions of private law and asserts that one party has experienced harm from the actions of another party and that the injured person seeks compensation for the harm (Pozgar Santucci, 2009). This potential for legal action by patients incentivizes physicians to purchase malpractice insurance as a protection against the devastation of attempting to pay such extreme amounts out of pocket; and whether due to the high cost of claims, the opportunity to profit or other forces, malpractice insurance premiums continue to climb similar to premiums for most other insurance types (Rakoczy, 2013). Proponents of reform also point to a tendency of physicians to protect against legal fault finding through over or under utilization of diagnostics and procedures, known as defensive medicine. For example, although empirical evidence has long supported avoidance of cesarean deliveries at 39 weeks in the absence of certain medical indications and demonstrated no better outcomes than vaginal deliveries, a high rate of cesarean deliveries continues in the United States, which allows the physician to demonstrate they have done all they can to assure a healthy delivery and position for defense against malpractice (Braunstein, 2012). Complicated by a healthcare system that financially rewards physicians for providing more services, approximately thirty percent of diagnostics, procedures, and hospitalizations are unnecessary, do not improve the patient s condition and may, in fact, cause harm (Braunstein, 2012). • 43. Gender Roles In Rebecca Solnit s Cassandra Amongst The... Hysteria derives from the greek work uterus. That notion refers to women everywhere having to live by the myth of gender roles. Most of the time these stereotypes turn into name calling which result in a harassment of words sticking long enough to the point where it s deemed as normal. The significance of that myth by people who endure verbal attacks correlates to how the rest of the crowd then perceives the judged. The consequences that follow are in the form of reputation creating these social norms that are unfair. In the tale Cassandra Amongst the Creeps, author Rebecca Solnit exemplifies the topic of how myths create social norms with the setting stone story of the goddess denying a Gods sexual request. As a result the curse of disbelief and tainted credibility of women was made normal as that myth stayed alive throughout history even to this day. In conjunction to Solnit, Lauren Holmes author of Barbara the Slut exhibits the modern setting of a high school to portray how impactful perception and credibility derived from that myth are. Both authors entertain how certain attitudes perpetuate future problems that can destroy characters esteem.
