From an early age I was taught the importance of personal integrity and the importance of being
adaptable and prepared for any stressful situation that life may throw at you. During my time as a boy
scout I was constantly taught to be prepared and to also to always be at the service of others. At the
end of our camping trips we would be told repeatedly to leave this place, better than when you found

Every particle in nature represents the complex, and intricate structure of the universe. The human
body alone undergoes many different processes per second, and yet, is able to do so almost without
error. It s almost undeniable that there is design in nature, however, many question whether or not this
design just came about or if it implies that a designer exists. Science and religion attempt to explain
design in nature in a much different context, and seem to be in conflict with one another about the
existence of a designer. Arguably, I believe that there is a loophole, in which both science and religion
can be integrated as one, and can function together to explain design in nature. Beginning with the Big
Bang, and Creationism to Evolution, and design in nature, religion provides science with answers and
vice versa. God is not the sole worker in nature, nor is he the supreme power, but he allows for natural
processes to take their course. Academics from a vast range of fields can all agree that there is design
in nature, meaning that nature doesn t consist of random things thrown together without a purpose.
Instead, almost everything in nature is intricately designed to achieve certain tasks. Design in nature
can be compared to a jigsaw puzzle in the sense that each piece is designed to fit another piece, and
they match up perfectly. For example, when our DNA goes through the replication process, an error is

Speaking As A Reflective Speech
In the past, I have given speeches, but never in the style of how we did it in this class. Previous
speeches I have given have been read aloud directly from a paper I had written. I have never given a
speech that required memorization or speaking based off of a key word outline, so this experience was
very new to me. Audio only: Thought I had a strong introduction, and introduced what I would be
focusing on in my essay. I believe I sound fairly confident and seem to be speaking at a pace that is
clear to understand and enunciated each syllable. As the speech progresses, it seems as if I ve lost
some confidence, I use more filler words, and repeat myself a little bit. My ending was very weak, and
it is something I realized as soon as I said it. My plan was to do a formal conclusion, thanking the

The first twenty years of one s life not only holds the most dramatic physical changes, but also
extensive changes in the social/emotional and the cognitive stages. Throughout my first twenty years,
I have reached the majority of my physical attributes for adulthood. I have gone from a babbling

On May 25, students from Westfield Elementary came together for the History Showcase and Wax
Museum. Students from Mrs. Sanders 4th grade GATE gathered to present Gold Dust or Bust play.
The play showed the dedication of each role that was played in the Gold Rush in that play.In Gold
Dust or Bust students worked for over a month preparing for this amazing musical. This play

Hysteria derives from the greek work uterus. That notion refers to women everywhere having to live
by the myth of gender roles. Most of the time these stereotypes turn into name calling which result in
a harassment of words sticking long enough to the point where it s deemed as normal. The

perception, and how that perception changes individual s credibility and reputation.

Back in the late 1990 s the Los Angeles Police Department was hit by a scandal in which police
officers in the Rampart division were accused of various crimes which ranged from planting evidence,
perjury, filing false police reports and physical abuse of innocent victims and other crimes. The
officers involved were in a special gang task force called CRASH (community resources against street
hoodlums) which was created to combat gang related activity and crime in LAPD areas. It was a
major scandal because police officers are held to a higher moral standard they are expected to not only
uphold the law but abide by it as well. Cognitive bias is a systematic error in thinking that affects the

played out with not only the officers who committed the crimes but also by the detectives led the
investigation and the chief of police himself.
The first incidence occurred in 1997 when undercover LAPD officer Lyga shot and killed Gaines an
