As the network size increases the probability of congestion occurrence at nodes increases. This is
because of the event driven nature of ad hoc networks that leads to unpredictable network load. As a result
congestion may occur at the nodes which receive more data than that can be forwarded and cause packet losses.
In this paper we propose a hybrid scheme that attempts to avoid packet loss due to congestion as well as reduce
end to end delay in delivering data packets by combining two protocols- Destination sequenced distance vector
routing (DSDV), which is a table driven or proactive protocol and Improved Ad-hoc on demand vector routing
(IAODV) which is an on-demand or reactive protocol that reduces packet loss due to congestion. The strategy
adopted is use DSDV for path selection and if congestion occurs than switch over to IAODV. The routing
performance of this model is then compared with IAODV and DSDV in terms of end to end delay, throughput
and packet delivery fraction

Wireless Ad-Hoc Mesh Networks are characterized by static nodes connected in a mesh topology. A routing
protocol discovers and maintains the route for successful transmission of data in a network. The routing
protocol should also provide load balancing and fault tolerance for improved network performance. In
Free Space Optical networks (FSO) line of sight (LOS) should be maintained between the two
communicating nodes. In a multihop scenario maintaining LOS during routing is a challenge. In this paper
we propose a routing protocol Quality of Service-Directional Routing Protocol (QDRP) - which assures a
certain level of performance to a data flow in terms of delay and implemented on FSO MANET. Through
simulations it is observed that QDRP chooses the path with the least delay and performs satisfactorily
under varying node densities and transmission rates achieving end to end delay of .14 s and packet delivery
percentage of 96% when simulated for an area of 1300 m *1300 m for 100 nodes. This work explores the
potential of the proposed routing protocol for free space optical mesh networks. QDRP is compared with
ORRP (Orthogonal Rendezvous Routing Protocol) and AODV (Ad-Hoc on Demand Distance Vector), a
reactive protocol which is also implemented in free space optical environment. We support our conclusions
that QDRP gains in terms of packet delivery percentage, end to end delay and goodput.

Routing protocol and congestion control in Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) have important roles in wireless mobile network performance. In wireless communication, the stability of the path and successful data transmission will be influenced by the channel condition. This channel condition constraints come from path loss and the multipath channel fading. With these constraints, the algorithm in the routing protocol and congestion control is confronted with the uncertainty of connection quality and probability of successful packet transmission, respectively. It is important to investigate the reliability and robustness of routing protocol and congestion control algorithms in dealing with such situation. In this paper, we develop a detailed approach and analytical throughput performance with a cross layer scheme (CLS) between routing and congestion control mechanism based on signal to noise ratio (SNR) in Rician and Rayleigh as multipath fading channel. We proposed joint routing and congestion control TCP with a cross layer scheme model based on SNR (RTCP-SNR). We compare the performance of RTCP-SNR with conventional routing-TCP and routing-TCP that used CLS with routing aware (RTCP-RA) model. The analyses and the simulation results showed that RTCP-SNR in a multipath channel outperforms conventional routing-TCP and RTCP-RA.

Battlefield theater applications require supporting large number of nodes. It can facilitate many multi-hop
paths between each source and destination pairs. For scalability, it is critical that for supporting network
centric applications with large set of nodes require hierarchical approach to designing networks. In this
research we consider using Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) with multiple clusters. Each cluster
supports a few nodes with a cluster head. The intra-cluster connectivity amongst the nodes within the
cluster is supported by multi-hop connectivity to ensure handling mobility in such a way that no service
disruption can occur. The inter-cluster connectivity is also achieved by multi-hop connectivity. However,
for inter-cluster communications, only cluster heads are connected. The selection of intra-cluster
communications and inter-cluster communications allow scalability of the network to support multiservices
applications end-to-end with a desired Quality of Service (QoS). This paper proposes graph
theoretic approach to establish efficient connection between a source and a destination within each cluster
in intra-cluster network and between clusters in inter-cluster network. Graph theoretic approach
traditionally was applied networks where nodes are static or fixed. In this paper, we have applied the
graph theoretic routing to MANET where nodes are mobile. One of the important challenges in MANET is
to support an efficient routing algorithm for multi-hop communications across many nodes which are
dynamic in nature. However, dynamic behavior of the nodes requires greater understanding of the node
degree and mobility at each instance of time in order to maintain end-to-end QoS for multi-service
provisioning. This paper demonstrates graph theoretic approach produces an optimum multi-hop
connectivity path based on cumulative minimum degree that minimizes the contention and scheduling
delay end-to-end. It is applied to both intra-cluster communications as well as inter-cluster
communications. The performance shows that having a multi-hop connectivity for intra-cluster
communications is more power efficient compared to broadcast of information with maximum power
coverage. Each cluster performs similarly and the algorithm is also used for inter-cluster communications.
Our simulation results show that the proposed graph theoretic routing approach will reduce the overall
delay and improves the physical layer data frame transmission.

Multi-hop routing protocol in cognitive radio mobile ad hoc networks (CRMANETs) is a critical issue. Furthermore, the routing metric used in multi-hop CRMANETs should reflect the bands availability, the links quality, the PU activities and quality of service (QoS) requirements of SUs. For the best of our knowledge, many of researchers investigated the performance of the different routing protocols in a homogeneous environment only. In this paper, we propose a heterogeneous cognitive radio routing protocol (HCR) operates in heterogeneous environment (i.e. the route from source to destination utilize the licensed and unlicensed spectrum bands). The proposed routing protocol is carefully developed to make a tradeoff between the channel diversity of the routing path along with the CRMANETs throughput. Using simulations, we discuss the performance of the proposed HCR routing protocol and compare it with the AODV routing protocol using a discrete-event simulation which we developed using JAVA platform.

The continuous increase in the complexity of data networks has motivated the development of more effective Multistage Interconnection Networks (MINs) as important factors in providing higher data transfer rates in various switching divisions. In this paper, semi-layer omega-class networks operating with a cut-through forwarding technique are chosen as test-bed subjects for detailed evaluation, and this network architecture is modelled, inspected, and simulated. The results are examined for relevant singlelayer omega networks operating with cut-through or âstore and forwardâ forwarding techniques. Two series of experiments are carried out: one concerns the case of uniform traffic, while the other is related to hotspot traffic. The results quantify the way in which this network outperforms the corresponding singlelayer network architectures for the same network size and buffer size. Furthermore, the effects of the dimensions of the switch elements and their corresponding reliability on the overall interconnection system are investigated, and the complexity and the relevant cost are examined. The data yielded by this investigation can be valuable to MIN engineers and can allow them to achieve more productive networks with lower overall implementation costs.

Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR) protocol is a proactive type of routing protocol that uses Multipoint
Relay (MPR) set as the virtual backbone structure. The existing literature has identified various issues with
respect to its backbone structure and has accordingly proposed improvements. In this paper, the focus is on
improving the OLSR protocol by employing a Connected Dominating Set (CDS) based virtual backbone
structure that is dynamically adaptable to rapid topology changes. A new Dynamically Adaptable Improved
Optimized Link State Routing (DA-IOLSR) protocol is proposed that uses the local topology information to
adapt the virtual backbone to topology changes. This assumes significance especially in networks that
experience very high mobility. Changes in the network topology caused by node additions, node deletions
and node mobility are taken care of. Simulations are carried out to assess the performance of DA-IOLSR
protocol and OLSR protocol. Packet delivery achieved by both the protocols is examined under varying
mobility by using various combinations of node speed and pause time values. It is found that DA-IOLSR
protocol provides better packet delivery as compared to OLSR protocol, under varying mobility conditions.

We consider models of telecommunication systems that incorporate probability, dense real-time and data.
We present a new formal abstraction method for computing minimum and maximum reachability
probabilities for such models. Our approach uses strictly local formal abstract steps to reduce both the size
of abstract specifications generated and the complexity of operations needed, in comparison to previous
approaches of this kind. A selection of large case studies are implemented the techniques and evaluate,
which include some infinite-state probabilistic real time models, demonstrating improvements over existing
tools in several cases. The capacity of metro and access networks are extended the reach and split ratio of
the conventional Long - Reach Passive Optical Networks (LR-PONs). The efficient solutions of LR-PONs
are appeared in feeder distances around 100km and high split ratios up to 1000-way . Among many
existing approaches, one of the most effective options to improve network performance in LR-PONs are the
multi-thread based dynamic bandwidth allocation (DBA) scheme where several bandwidth allocation
processes are performed in parallel is considered. Without proper intercommunication between the
overlapped threads, multi-thread DBA may lose efficiency and even perform worse than the conventional
single thread algorithm. Real Time Probabilistic Systems are used to evaluate a typical PON systems
performance. This approach is more convenient, flexible, and lower cost than the former simulation method,
which do not need develop special hardware and software tools. Moreover, how changes in performance
depend on changes in the particular modes can be easily analysis by supplying ranges for parameter values.
The proposed algorithm with traditional DBA is compared, and shows its advantage on average packet
delay. The key parameters of the algorithm are analysed and optimized, such as initiating and tuning
multiple threads, inter -thread scheduling, and fairness among users. The algorithms advantage in
numerical results are decreased the average packet delay and improve network throughput under varying
offered loads.
To increase the network capacity, there is
need to minimize the interference among nodes and
optimum control of topology in the foundation of
network. Recently, technological development helps to
build of mobile ad-hoc networks (MANETs) in order to
improve the quality of service (QoS) in terms of delay. In
contradictory to the objective of minimizing interference,
it is important to concern topology control in delay
constrained environment. The present research work
attempts to control the delay-constrained topology with
jointly considering delay and interference concept.
Additionally, the study proposed an interference oriented
topology control algorithm for delay-constrained
MANETs by taking account of both the interference
constraint and the delay constraint under the specific
condition of transmission delay, contention delay and the
queuing delay. Further, the study investigated the impact
of node mobility on the interference oriented topology
control algorithm. Finally, the results of the present
study shows that the proposed algorithm controls the
topology to convince the interference constraint, and
increases the transmit range to congregate the delay
requirement. Also, the study conclude that the algorithm
could effectively reduce the delay protocol and improve
the performance effectively in delay-constrained mobile
ad hoc networks.
A MANET is an autonomous collection of mobile users that communicate over relatively bandwidth constrained wireless links. When designing mobile ad hoc networks, several interesting and difficult problems arise because of the shared nature of the wireless medium, limited transmission power (range) of wireless devices, node mobility, and battery limitations. This paper aims at providing a new schema to improve Dynamic Source Routing (DSR) Protocol. The aim
behind the proposed enhancement is to find the best route in acceptable time limit without having broadcast storm. Moreover, O-DSR enables network not only to overcome congestion but also maximize the lifetime of mobile nodes. Some simulations results show that the Route Request (RREQ) and the Control Packet Overhead decrease by 15% when O-DSR is used, consequently. Also the global energy consumption in O-DSR is lower until to 60 % , which leads to a long lifetime of the network.

Mobile Ad-hoc networks are a key in the evolution of wireless networks. In mobile
ad hoc networks, there is no centralized infrastructure to monitor or allocate the resources
used by the mobile nodes. The absence of any central coordinator makes the routing a

(AODV) routing algorithm is a routing protocol designed for ad hoc mobile devices. AODV

Such floods take up a substantial portion of network bandwidth. The routing in Mobile ad hoc

Abstract : Earlier work on routing MANETs developed several routing protocols, which finds available route from source to destination without taking into the consideration of Band width availability for data transfer, and they frequently fails to discover stable routes between source and destination. As a result of that there is a large numbers of discarding of data packets as well as overloading of packets as the consequences of that large wastage of band width. EUBLAR (Efficient Utilization of band width in Location Aided Routing) protocol is introduced in this proposed work, which is capable of calculating the available band width of all the intermediate nodes between source and destination. In this proposed protocol find the minimum available band width of all the intermediate nodes between source and destination and then according to that band width sends the data packets over that path. The EUBLAR can effectively utilized the wastage of band width and every single band width can be used for data transfer can be used over entirely configured network. In this way we can increase the quality of service of the Ad- hoc network in terms of bandwidth. ADAPTIVE HANDOVER HYSTERESIS AND CALL ADMISSION CONTROL FOR MOBILE RELAY NODESIJCNCJournal

The aim of equipping a wireless network with a mobile relay node is to support broadband wireless communications for vehicular users and their devices. The high mobility of vehicular users, possibly at a very high velocity in the area in which two cells overlap, could cause the network to suffer from a reduced handover success rate and, hence, increased radio link failure. The combined impact of these problems is service interruptions to vehicular users. Thus, the handover schemes are crucial in solving these problems. In this work, we first present the adaptive handover hysteresis scheme for the wireless network with mobile relay nodes in the high-speed train scenario. Specifically, our proposed adaptive hysteresis scheme is based on the velocity of the train. Second, the handover call dropping probability is reduced by introducing a modified call admission control scheme to support radio resource reservation for handover calls that prioritizes handover calls of mobile relay over the other calls. The proposed solution in which adaptive parameter is combined with call admission control is evaluated by system level simulation. Our simulation results illustrate an increased handover success rate and reduced radio link failures.

The importance of IPv6 Routing Protocol for Low power and Lossy Networks (LLNs), also called RPL, has motivated in the development of a robust and quality of service (QoS) oriented Multi-Constraints Adaptive Link Quality Index (MALQI) based routing protocol. Unlike classical RPL protocols, MALQI enables mobile-RPL while ensuring fault-resilient, reliable and QoS communication over LLNs. MALQI protocol exploits key novelties such as signal strength based mobile node positioning, average received signal strength indicator (ARSSI) and ETX based objective function for fault tolerant best forwarding path selection. The functional architecture of MALQI enables it to be used as the parallel to the link layer RPL that even in the case of link failure can assist efficient data delivery over LLNs. Once detecting link outage, MALQI can execute node discover and best forwarding path selection to assist QoS delivery. Contiki-Cooja based simulation reveals that MALQI based mobile-RPL outperforms other state-of-art routing protocols.
The congestion control within the TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) plays a critical role in
amending data rate to evade congestion from happening possibilities. Based on TCP communication sender
not only guarantees the successful packet delivery, but also maintains the correct sequence of packets by
receiving the frequent acknowledgement from the receiver. In this research we proposed a congestion
control scheme with modified TCP and queue length variation with OLSR routing protocol in MANET. The
TCP protocol performance is modified by forwarding busy channel signals to predecessor nodes through
intermediate nodes in network. The congestion is controlled by that novel method of detecting the node is
busy or ready for communication. If the communication is start in network and the possibility if congestion
is arise, then in that case the queue length is handle the possibility of congestion. The congestion is
minimized due to awaring about the channel busy status and nodes buffer status or queue status. The TCP
protocol is able to handle the congestion situation but i.e. completely based on acknowledgement of receiver
and also not very effective to control it. The proposed TCP congestion control OLSR routing is improves
the network performance by reducing packet loss. The performance of network is measure through
performance metrics like throughput, PDF and Routing overhead in different node density scenarios. The
performance of proposed scheme is provides the better results.

Multi-Protocol Label Switching for Traffic Engineering (MPLS-TE) technology is an intelligent and
advanced tool for handling traffic through the core networks and implementing new services based on
virtual transport. Since MPLS-TE combines channel and network layer mechanisms, network
administrators can optimally integrate and allocate the traffic loads while maintaining the speed of
technologies such as Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) technology. In this paper, the problem of the
developed algorithm of multi-path routing which allows us to determine the optimum number of
independent shortest paths is theoretically solved. In details, the article proposes a way for finding the set
of shortest paths using Dijkstra's algorithm, and then determination of the maximum flow for each of the
shortest paths based on the mathematical concepts and finally, introducing the solution of the multi-criteria
optimization problem for a set of shortest paths. According to our approach, optimizing the use of
resources in the core networks is possible with using the MPLS-TE technology.
Mobile ad hoc network is a reconfigurable network of mobile nodes connected by multi-hop wireless links and capable of operating without any fixed infrastructure support. In order to facilitate communication within such self-creating, self-organizing and self administrating network, a dynamic routing protocol is needed. The primary goal of such an ad hoc network routing protocol is to discover and establish a correct and efficient route between a pair of nodes so that messages may be delivered in a timely manner. Route construction should be done with a minimum of overhead and bandwidth consumption. This paper examines two routing protocols, both on-demand source routing, for mobile ad hoc networksâ the Dynamic Source Routing (DSR), an flat architecture based and the Cluster Based Routing Protocol (CBRP), a cluster architecture based and evaluates both routing protocols in terms of packet delivery fraction, normalized routing load, average end to end delay, throughput by varying number of nodes per sq. km, traffic sources and mobility. Simulation results show that in high
mobility (pause time 0s) scenarios, CBRP outperforms DSR. CBRP scales well with increasing number of nodes.

A Mobile Ad hoc NETwork (MANET) is a collection of wireless mobile hosts that form a temporary network
without a centralized administration or wired infrastructure. Due to the high mobility of nodes, the network
topology of MANETs changes very fast, making it more difficult to find the routes that message packets use.
Network control with Quality of Service (QoS) support is a key issue for multimedia applications in MANET.
Most of the real time applications have stringent requirements on bandwidth, delay, delay-jitter, packet loss
ratio, cost and other QoS metrics. This paper proposes a Multi-constrained QoS routing with mobility
prediction protocol. If the node has enough resources to transmit data packets, it uses the Global
Positioning System (GPS) to get the location information of the mobile nodes and selects the routing path
with the maximum Route Expiration Time (RET). A set of static and mobile agents are used to find the
multicast routes and transmit the packets. Extensive simulations have been conducted to evaluate the
performance of MC_MAODV using Network Simulator (NS-2). The simulation results show that the
proposed protocol achieves good performance in terms of improving packet delivery ratio and minimizing
end-to-end delay.

Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR) protocol is a proactive type of routing protocol that uses Multipoint
Relay (MPR) set as the virtual backbone structure. The existing literature has identified various issues with
respect to its backbone structure and has accordingly proposed improvements. In this paper, the focus is on
improving the OLSR protocol by employing a Connected Dominating Set (CDS) based virtual backbone
structure that is dynamically adaptable to rapid topology changes. A new Dynamically Adaptable Improved
Optimized Link State Routing (DA-IOLSR) protocol is proposed that uses the local topology information to
adapt the virtual backbone to topology changes. This assumes significance especially in networks that
experience very high mobility. Changes in the network topology caused by node additions, node deletions
and node mobility are taken care of. Simulations are carried out to assess the performance of DA-IOLSR
protocol and OLSR protocol. Packet delivery achieved by both the protocols is examined under varying
mobility by using various combinations of node speed and pause time values. It is found that DA-IOLSR
protocol provides better packet delivery as compared to OLSR protocol, under varying mobility conditions.

We consider models of telecommunication systems that incorporate probability, dense real-time and data.
We present a new formal abstraction method for computing minimum and maximum reachability
probabilities for such models. Our approach uses strictly local formal abstract steps to reduce both the size
of abstract specifications generated and the complexity of operations needed, in comparison to previous
approaches of this kind. A selection of large case studies are implemented the techniques and evaluate,
which include some infinite-state probabilistic real time models, demonstrating improvements over existing
tools in several cases. The capacity of metro and access networks are extended the reach and split ratio of
the conventional Long - Reach Passive Optical Networks (LR-PONs). The efficient solutions of LR-PONs
are appeared in feeder distances around 100km and high split ratios up to 1000-way . Among many
existing approaches, one of the most effective options to improve network performance in LR-PONs are the
multi-thread based dynamic bandwidth allocation (DBA) scheme where several bandwidth allocation
processes are performed in parallel is considered. Without proper intercommunication between the
overlapped threads, multi-thread DBA may lose efficiency and even perform worse than the conventional
single thread algorithm. Real Time Probabilistic Systems are used to evaluate a typical PON systems
performance. This approach is more convenient, flexible, and lower cost than the former simulation method,
which do not need develop special hardware and software tools. Moreover, how changes in performance
depend on changes in the particular modes can be easily analysis by supplying ranges for parameter values.
The proposed algorithm with traditional DBA is compared, and shows its advantage on average packet
delay. The key parameters of the algorithm are analysed and optimized, such as initiating and tuning
multiple threads, inter -thread scheduling, and fairness among users. The algorithms advantage in
numerical results are decreased the average packet delay and improve network throughput under varying
offered loads.
To increase the network capacity, there is
need to minimize the interference among nodes and
optimum control of topology in the foundation of
network. Recently, technological development helps to
build of mobile ad-hoc networks (MANETs) in order to
improve the quality of service (QoS) in terms of delay. In
contradictory to the objective of minimizing interference,
it is important to concern topology control in delay
constrained environment. The present research work
attempts to control the delay-constrained topology with
jointly considering delay and interference concept.
Additionally, the study proposed an interference oriented
topology control algorithm for delay-constrained
MANETs by taking account of both the interference
constraint and the delay constraint under the specific
condition of transmission delay, contention delay and the
queuing delay. Further, the study investigated the impact
of node mobility on the interference oriented topology
control algorithm. Finally, the results of the present
study shows that the proposed algorithm controls the
topology to convince the interference constraint, and
increases the transmit range to congregate the delay
requirement. Also, the study conclude that the algorithm
could effectively reduce the delay protocol and improve
the performance effectively in delay-constrained mobile
ad hoc networks.
A MANET is an autonomous collection of mobile users that communicate over relatively bandwidth constrained wireless links. When designing mobile ad hoc networks, several interesting and difficult problems arise because of the shared nature of the wireless medium, limited transmission power (range) of wireless devices, node mobility, and battery limitations. This paper aims at providing a new schema to improve Dynamic Source Routing (DSR) Protocol. The aim
behind the proposed enhancement is to find the best route in acceptable time limit without having broadcast storm. Moreover, O-DSR enables network not only to overcome congestion but also maximize the lifetime of mobile nodes. Some simulations results show that the Route Request (RREQ) and the Control Packet Overhead decrease by 15% when O-DSR is used, consequently. Also the global energy consumption in O-DSR is lower until to 60 % , which leads to a long lifetime of the network.

(AODV) routing algorithm is a routing protocol designed for ad hoc mobile devices. AODV

Such floods take up a substantial portion of network bandwidth. The routing in Mobile ad hoc

Abstract : Earlier work on routing MANETs developed several routing protocols, which finds available route from source to destination without taking into the consideration of Band width availability for data transfer, and they frequently fails to discover stable routes between source and destination. As a result of that there is a large numbers of discarding of data packets as well as overloading of packets as the consequences of that large wastage of band width. EUBLAR (Efficient Utilization of band width in Location Aided Routing) protocol is introduced in this proposed work, which is capable of calculating the available band width of all the intermediate nodes between source and destination. In this proposed protocol find the minimum available band width of all the intermediate nodes between source and destination and then according to that band width sends the data packets over that path. The EUBLAR can effectively utilized the wastage of band width and every single band width can be used for data transfer can be used over entirely configured network. In this way we can increase the quality of service of the Ad- hoc network in terms of bandwidth. ADAPTIVE HANDOVER HYSTERESIS AND CALL ADMISSION CONTROL FOR MOBILE RELAY NODESIJCNCJournal

The aim of equipping a wireless network with a mobile relay node is to support broadband wireless communications for vehicular users and their devices. The high mobility of vehicular users, possibly at a very high velocity in the area in which two cells overlap, could cause the network to suffer from a reduced handover success rate and, hence, increased radio link failure. The combined impact of these problems is service interruptions to vehicular users. Thus, the handover schemes are crucial in solving these problems. In this work, we first present the adaptive handover hysteresis scheme for the wireless network with mobile relay nodes in the high-speed train scenario. Specifically, our proposed adaptive hysteresis scheme is based on the velocity of the train. Second, the handover call dropping probability is reduced by introducing a modified call admission control scheme to support radio resource reservation for handover calls that prioritizes handover calls of mobile relay over the other calls. The proposed solution in which adaptive parameter is combined with call admission control is evaluated by system level simulation. Our simulation results illustrate an increased handover success rate and reduced radio link failures.

The importance of IPv6 Routing Protocol for Low power and Lossy Networks (LLNs), also called RPL, has motivated in the development of a robust and quality of service (QoS) oriented Multi-Constraints Adaptive Link Quality Index (MALQI) based routing protocol. Unlike classical RPL protocols, MALQI enables mobile-RPL while ensuring fault-resilient, reliable and QoS communication over LLNs. MALQI protocol exploits key novelties such as signal strength based mobile node positioning, average received signal strength indicator (ARSSI) and ETX based objective function for fault tolerant best forwarding path selection. The functional architecture of MALQI enables it to be used as the parallel to the link layer RPL that even in the case of link failure can assist efficient data delivery over LLNs. Once detecting link outage, MALQI can execute node discover and best forwarding path selection to assist QoS delivery. Contiki-Cooja based simulation reveals that MALQI based mobile-RPL outperforms other state-of-art routing protocols.
The congestion control within the TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) plays a critical role in
amending data rate to evade congestion from happening possibilities. Based on TCP communication sender
not only guarantees the successful packet delivery, but also maintains the correct sequence of packets by
receiving the frequent acknowledgement from the receiver. In this research we proposed a congestion
control scheme with modified TCP and queue length variation with OLSR routing protocol in MANET. The
TCP protocol performance is modified by forwarding busy channel signals to predecessor nodes through
intermediate nodes in network. The congestion is controlled by that novel method of detecting the node is
busy or ready for communication. If the communication is start in network and the possibility if congestion
is arise, then in that case the queue length is handle the possibility of congestion. The congestion is
minimized due to awaring about the channel busy status and nodes buffer status or queue status. The TCP
protocol is able to handle the congestion situation but i.e. completely based on acknowledgement of receiver
and also not very effective to control it. The proposed TCP congestion control OLSR routing is improves
the network performance by reducing packet loss. The performance of network is measure through
performance metrics like throughput, PDF and Routing overhead in different node density scenarios. The
performance of proposed scheme is provides the better results.

We developed a protocol with an enhanced route discovery mechanism that avoids the pre-transmission
delay. When a source node wants to communicate with another node, it broadcast RREQ. EAODV give
priority to the source node of real time transmission. When RREQ packet send to neighbor node, for real
time transmission it accept route request on priority basis and the drop ratio of packets decreased, then

Congestion Control in Manets Using Hybrid Routing ProtocolIOSR Journals

Abstract : As the network size increases the probability of congestion occurrence at nodes increases. This is because of the event driven nature of ad hoc networks that leads to unpredictable network load. As a result congestion may occur at the nodes which receive more data than that can be forwarded and cause packet losses. In this paper we propose a hybrid scheme that attempts to avoid packet loss due to congestion as well as reduce end to end delay in delivering data packets by combining two protocols- Destination sequenced distance vector routing (DSDV), which is a table driven or proactive protocol and Improved Ad-hoc on demand vector routing (IAODV) which is an on-demand or reactive protocol that reduces packet loss due to congestion. The strategy adopted is use DSDV for path selection and if congestion occurs than switch over to IAODV. The routing performance of this model is then compared with IAODV and DSDV in terms of end to end delay, throughput and packet delivery fraction. Keywords- DSDV, Hybrid protocol, AODV, IAODV, MANET

The Optimal Link State Routing (OLSR) protocol employs multipoint relay (MPR) nodes to disseminate topology control (TC) messages, enabling network topology discovery and maintenance. However, this approach increases control overhead and leads to wasted network bandwidth in stable topology scenarios due to fixed flooding periods. To address these challenges, this paper presents an Efficient Topology Maintenance Algorithm (ETM-OLSR) for Enhanced Link-State Routing Protocols. By reducing the number of MPR nodes, TC message generation and forwarding frequency are minimized. Furthermore, the algorithm selects a smaller subset of TC messages based on the changes in the MPR selection set from the previous cycle, adapting to stable and fluctuating network conditions. Additionally, the sending cycle of TC messages is dynamically adjusted in response to network topology changes. Simulation results demonstrate that the ETM-OLSR algorithm effectively reduces network control overhead, minimizes end-to-end delay, and improves network throughput compared to traditional OLSR and HTR-OLSR algorithms.

Actual network size depends on the application and the protocols developed for the routing for this kind of
networks should be scalable and efficient. Each routing protocol should support small as well as large
scale networks very efficiently. As the number of node increase, it increases the management functionality
of the network. Graph theoretic approach traditionally was applied to networks where nodes are static or
fixed. In this paper, we have applied the graph theoretic routing to MANET where nodes are mobile. Here,
we designed all identical nodes in the cluster except the cluster head and this criterion reduces the
management burden on the network. Each cluster supports a few nodes with a cluster head. The intracluster
connectivity amongst the nodes within the cluster is supported by multi-hop connectivity to ensure
handling mobility in such a way that no service disruption can occur. The inter-cluster connectivity is also
achieved by multi-hop connectivity. However, for inter-cluster communications, only cluster heads are
connected. This paper demonstrates graph theoretic approach produces an optimum multi-hop connectivity
path based on cumulative minimum degree that minimizes the contention and scheduling delay end-toend.
It is applied to both intra-cluster communications as well as inter-cluster communications. The
performance shows that having a multi-hop connectivity for intra-cluster communications is more power
efficient compared to broadcast of information with maximum power coverage. We also showed the total
number of required intermediate nodes in the transmission from source to destination. However, dynamic
behavior of the nodes requires greater understanding of the node degree and mobility at each instance of
time in order to maintain end-to-end QoS for multi-service provisioning. Our simulation results show that
the proposed graph theoretic routing approach will reduce the overall delay and improves the physical
layer data frame transmission.

bandwidth availability make optimizing broadcast message flooding a problem in an Optimized Link State
Routing (OLSR)-based mobile wireless network. The selection of Multi-Point Relays (MPRs) has lately
been proposed as a potential approach that has the added benefit of eliminating duplicate re-transmissions
in VANET networks. Wingsuit Flying Search (WFS) is one of the swarm intelligent metaheuristic
algorithms, it enables one to find the minimum number of MPR. In this study, a novel methodology based
on (WFS) is called WS-OLSR (Wingsuit Search-OLSR). The (WS-OLSR) is investigated to enhance the
existing MPR-based solution, arguing that considering a cost function as a further decision measure will
effectively compute minimum MPR nodes that give the maximum coverage area possible. The enhanced
MPR selection powered by (WFS) algorithm leads to decreasing MPR count required to cover 95% of
mobile nodes, increasing throughput , and decreasing topology control which mitigates broadcasting storm
phenomenon in VANETs.

Therefore, we enhanced the MANET routing protocol for computing two or more paths to pass the more that one high priority real traffic data via these paths to improve the gloomy picture of this protocol in the context of IoT. In particular, the good services
with high timely delivery of urgent data such as real time data environmental monitoring. After surveying the published and available protocol interoperability given for urban sensing. In this research, we have proposed a novel solution to integrate MANET overlays, and collaboratively formed over MANET, to boost urban data in IoT. Overlays are used to dynamic differentiate and fasten the delivery of high priority real application time data over low-latency MANET paths by integrating with the original specifications. Our experimental results showed the effectiveness on the network such as the overhead and network congestion. In addition, the initial
results of the light-weight improved the routing protocol over the baseline protocols in terms of the delay of reciveing the packets between nodes which lead to increase the throughput by reducing loss packets.

Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) is a very dynamic and infrastructure-less ad hoc network. The actual
network size depends on the application and the protocols developed for the routing for this kind of
networks should be scalable. MANET is a resource limited network and therefore the developed routing
algorithm for packet transmission should be power and bandwidth efficient. These kinds of dynamic
networks should operate with minimal management overhead. The management functionality of the
network increases with number of nodes and reduces the performance of the network. Here, in this paper,
we have designed all identical nodes in the cluster except the cluster head and this criterion reduces the
management burden on the network. Graph theoretic routing algorithm is used to develop route for packet
transmission by using the minimum resources. In this paper, we developed routing algorithm for cluster
based MANET and finds a path from source to destination using minimum cumulative degree path. Our
simulation results show that this routing algorithm provide efficient routing path with the increasing
number of nodes and uses multi-hop connectivity for intra-cluster to utilize minimum power for packet
transmission irrespective of number of nodes in the network.

Mobile Ad-Hoc network is a collection of mobile nodes in communication without using infrastructure.
As the real-time applications used in todayâs wireless network grow, we need some schemes to provide
more suitable service for them. We know that most of actual schemes do not perform well on traffic which
is not strictly CBR. Therefore, in this paper we have studied the impact, respectively, of mobility models
and the density of nodes on the performances (End-to-End Delay, Throughput and Packet Delivery ratio)
of routing protocol (Optimized Link State Routing) OLSR by using in the first a real-time VBR (MPEG-4)
and secondly the Constant Bit Rate (CBR) traffic. Finally we compare the performance on both cases.
Experimentally, we considered the three mobility models as follows Random Waypoint, Random
Direction and Mobgen Steady State. The experimental results illustrate that the behavior of OLSR change
according to the model and the used traffics.

Abstract
Mobile ad-hoc network (MANET) is an autonomous wireless network, deploy without any fixed infrastructure and assistance of base stations. Each node in network shares wireless link for interconnections and not only operates as an end system, but also as a router to forward packets. Since the network nodes are mobile, can be move in any direction with varying paces that generate high dynamicity of network so the protocols that are developed for general ad hoc networks are unsuitable for such an environment. In addition, on-hand routing protocols performance decreases as size of network increased. In this context, to enhance the recitation of routing in MANETs, we propose a new approach in this paper, named Advanced Ad hoc On-Demand Distance Vector (A_AODV). It is a modified version of traditional AODV routing protocol, shrink the active path whenever optimal pathway is available and switches the traffic on it. Energy consumption is a key element in the Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) design. Indeed, sensor nodes are really constrained by energy supply. Hence, how to improve the network lifetime is a crucial and challenging task. Several techniques are available at different levels of the OSI model to maximize the WSN lifetime and especially at the network layer which uses routing strategies to maintain the routes in the network and guarantee reliable communication. In this paper we intend to propose a new protocol called
Combined Energy and Distance Metrics Dynamic Routing Protocol (CEDM-DR). Our new approach considers not only the distance between wireless sensors but also the energy of node acting as a router in order to find the optimal path and achieve a dynamic and adaptive routing.
The performance metrics exploited for the evaluation of our protocol are average energy consumed, network lifetime and packets lost. By comparing our proposed routing strategy to protocol widely used in WSN namely Ad hoc On demand Distance Vector(AODV), simulation results show that CEDM-DR strategy might effectively balance the sensor power consumption and permits accordingly to enhance the network
lifetime. As well, this new protocol yields a noticeable energy saving compared to its counterpart.

An Ad hoc network is a collection of wireless mobile hosts forming a temporary network without the
aid of any centralized administration or standard support services. MANET can be defined using unstable
network infrastructure, self-organizing network topology and independent node mobility. This becomes
obtainable due to their routing techniques; in other terms, routing is a backbone for MANET. However, due to
network load routing performance of MANET is degraded thus, some optimization on network routing strategy
is required.
In this paper, we introduce a new technique by using the concept of Genetic algorithm (GA) with
AODV Protocol to make routing decision in computer network.
The goal of this paper is to find the optimal path between the source and destination nodes and increased the
QoS and Throughput. We implemented and compare this a new technique with the traditional AODV, and we
shows that the new technique is better performance than the traditional AODV.

The field of Information retrieval (IR) is currently undergoing a transformative shift, at least partly due to the emerging applications of generative AI to information access. In this talk, we will deliberate on the sociotechnical implications of generative AI for information access. We will argue that there is both a critical necessity and an exciting opportunity for the IR community to re-center our research agendas on societal needs while dismantling the artificial separation between the work on fairness, accountability, transparency, and ethics in IR and the rest of IR research. Instead of adopting a reactionary strategy of trying to mitigate potential social harms from emerging technologies, the community should aim to proactively set the research agenda for the kinds of systems we should build inspired by diverse explicitly stated sociotechnical imaginaries. The sociotechnical imaginaries that underpin the design and development of information access technologies needs to be explicitly articulated, and we need to develop theories of change in context of these diverse perspectives. Our guiding future imaginaries must be informed by other academic fields, such as democratic theory and critical theory, and should be co-developed with social science scholars, legal scholars, civil rights and social justice activists, and artists, among others.

Enhancing the Communication Range and Reliability of Mobile
ADHOC Network Using AODV-OSPF Protocol

Abstract
The increasing density of node and communication range of mobile node raised some problem such as dropping
of packet and degraded the performance of network. For the improvement of performance of AODV routing
Protocol in mobile ADHOC network various authors used different size of adjacency matrix in AODV routing
protocol. In this paper proposed an improved AODV routing protocol using OSPF routing adjacency matrix in
AODV protocol. The size of OSPF matrix is large instead of AODV.The change the size of matrix increases the
communication range of mobile node. The increased range of communication increases the throughput of
mobile ADHOC network. The proposed model simulates in ns-2.34 and compared with AODV routing protocol.
Our experimental result shows better performance of AODV-OSPF routing protocol.

I. INTRODUCTION
A mobile, ad hoc network is a self-directed
system of mobile node connected by communication
links. The nature of infrastructure of mobile ADHOC
network is dynamic. The process of communication
are performed in dedicated area If two mobile node
are not within signal range, all message
communication between them must pass through one
or more intermediate mobile node[11]. The mobile
nodes are free to move full range of communication,
thus varying the network topology animatedly. Thus
routing protocols must be adaptive and able to
maintain routes in spite of the changing network
connectivity[16]. The process of communication of
AODV routing protocol suffered from the problem of
dropping of packet and huge amount of traffic. The
generation of traffic and dropping raised due to size
of adjacency matrix. The sizes of matrix are changed
control the traffic situation in AODV routing
protocol[15]. For the improvement of size used OSPF
protocol. The OSPF mechanism providing control
traffic reduction is the designated router mechanism
OSPF [19]. However, in a mobile ADHOC network,
due to the fact that mobile ADHOC network do not
have the same set of mobile ADHOC network
neighbors. OSPF extensions for MANET thus use
alternative mechanisms. Aside of miscellaneous
tweaks and tricks such as implicit acknowledgements
or control traffic multicasting, these alternative
mechanisms can be classified in the following
categories. Flooding reduction and support[12].
Instead of the usual, raw flooding scheme, use more
sophisticated techniques that reduce redundant
transmissions adjacency matrix Selection. Instead of
attempting to become adjacent with all itâs near, a

router becomes adjacent with only some selected near
nods. Topology Reduction[18,24]. Report only
partial topology information in LSAs, instead of full

In section II we describe related work of AODVOSPF routing protocol. In section III proposed
methodology. In section IV discuss our experimental
result analysis finally conclude in section V.
II. RELATED WORK
This section gives an extensive related work
on the existing AODV with OSPF routing protocol
for secured communication and increase the range of
communication area. A lot of work has been done on
proposing solutions to the fundamental issues
generated when integrating MANETs with fixed
networks. Some of the proposed solutions have
involved using an extension of the OSPF routing
protocol used in fixed networks and modifying some
key properties to enable it to function in MANETs,
others have taken the path of combining the already
existing MANET routing protocols with OSPF with
techniques that accomplish the goal of inter-domain
routing.
[I] in this paper authors describe reactive protocols
like AODV for TANs because of its higher latency
and route request flooding. In the case of AODV, the
overhead saturated the network constantly with all toall traffic. Some modified work is needed to
understand if tuning AODV parameters would

benefit the network. All in all, traditional MANET
protocols can be leveraged for tactical airborne
networks and additional work is needed to ensure
high delivery success without increasing overhead.
[2]OSPF routing protocol increase the convergence
range of communication, Also, the large size of
routing domain, and possible occurrence of mobile
ADHOC network (MANET) mechanism, requires
highly scalable operation on part of OSPF to stay
away from routing flux. Current decade have seen
important hard work to improving OSPFâs
convergence speed as well as scalability and
extending OSPF to achieve seamless integration of
mobile ADHOC networks with conventional wired
networks.
[3] Authors used genetic algorithm to solve a
network routing problem related to communication.
The proposed algorithm to find the shortest path
between the source and destination nodes. A simple
genetic algorithm is developed to find the shortest
path routing in a dynamic network. The developed
algorithm uses an efficient coding scheme.
[4] Authors propose a new heterogeneous routing
protocol specifically designed for the hierarchical ad
hoc network routing protocol. also there a new active
clustering scheme to help build a new constant
hierarchical configuration, which is fundamental to
heterogeneous routing protocols. Stable clustering
scheme to dynamically build a physically hierarchical
ad hoc network. A large-scale network is then
divided into stable small local subnets, similar to the
current Internet hierarchical structure [17,22].
However, our wireless backbones are mobile
backbones, thus suitable to the mobile computing
environment.
[6] Author describe a new algorithm for dynamic
routing of bandwidth guaranteed tunnels where
tunnel routing requests arrive one-by-one and there is
no a priori knowledge regarding future requirements.
The problem is motivated by service provider needs
for fast deployment of bandwidth guaranteed services
and the consequent need in backbone networks for
fast provisioning of bandwidth certain path. Offline
routing algorithms cannot be used since they require
a priori knowledge of all tunnel requests that are to
be routed[20]. Instead of , on-line algorithms that
hold requests arriving one by one and that satisfy as
many potential future demands as possible are
needed.
[7] Authors propose a new mobility model founded
on social network theory. This proposed model
allows collection of hosts to be grouped together in a
way that is based on social relationships among the
individuals. The combination is then mapped to a
topographical space, with activities prejudiced by the
strength of social ties that may also change in time.

which make use of traditional routing protocols such
as OSPF in grouping with MPLS. even as having the
common of traffic routed along optimized shortest
paths, MPSL is only partially introduce to
complement the adaptation process.

based on shortest-path routing and load balancing.
here present the LP model that find the optimal
routing path. The gain that can be achieved for many
topologies is significant, and grows with the degree
of a node in the network. It is exposed that gain is
achieve for all major ISP topologies. The completion
of this routing method would make it possible to
satisfy greater demands without changing the
network topology. Since it is based on the OSPF
algorithm, and a simple linear programming
algorithm, the required network upgrade is of
acceptable complexity[21,23].

complement existing ad hoc broadcast mechanisms
(inherently unreliable), which can assurance the full
transmission of critical messages, when necessary.
An exciting approach in this domain is the use of a
covered network, over which significant messages
are approved peer to peer, in order to confirm the
actual diffusion.
III. PROPOSED METHODOLOGY
In this paper we modified the OSPF-MDR
routing protocol for mobile ADHOC network. OSPFMDR routing protocol is extension of mobile
ADHOC routing protocol for the improvement of
communication range of node. In mobile ADHOC
network multi-hope commutation loss of data rate is
very high. For the increasing range of signal strength
and reliable communication Proposed optimal routing
protocol for MANET using MDR. The MDR process
increases the range of adjunct of OSPF routing.
According to survey of OSPF implementation of
MANET network on data accumulate by their
researchers, OSPF-MDR has been challenged as a
suitable routing protocol for MANETs. OSPF-MDR
is the MANET extension of OSPF. It is based on the
selection of a subset of MANET routers consisting of
MANET designated routers (MDRs) and Backup
MDRs that form a connected dominating set (CDS).
The CDS is used to reduce flooding overhead, as
only the MDRs and Backup MDRs flood new link
state advertisements (LSAs) out the receiving
interface to their neighbors. In addition, adjacencies
are formed only between MDRs and a subset of their
neighbors which provides proper scaling in large
scale networks. Fast convergence to topology
changes has emerged as a critical requirement for
todayâs routing infrastructures. However, limiting the
processing/bandwidth overhead of the routing

protocol continues to be as important as before.
OSPF, being a distributed protocol, requires timely
execution of certain operations, e.g., generation and
processing of hello packets, by the participating
routers. This process might be causing the alleged
lack of convergence of OSPF. AODV routing
protocol is enhanced by MDR technique. In MDR
technique basically three sections are added in basic
AODV routing protocol. There are three new
elements introduced to improve the existing AODV
in recvReply() function namely are 1) the rrep_table
to store incoming RREP packet, 2) mali_list to keep
the optimal path and 3) the rt_upd, parameter to
control the routing table update. In this fashion MDR
technique of improved AODV routing protocol for
diversity range of communication. An outlier is
process from that process we find the boundary side
node in ADHOC network under certain condition.
The outlier detection algorithm is Unsupervised
learning approach is employed to this model. The rate
of unsupervised learning is a new description or
demonstration of the inspection data, which will then
lead to improved potential responses or decisions.
Outlier methods do not need the prior knowledge of
inner node and outer node communication in
ADHOC network, but instead detect changes in
behavior or unusual communication. These methods
model a baseline distribution that represents normal
behavior and then detect observations that show
greatest loss of packet from the normal. Outliers are a
basic form of non-standard examination that can be
used for outer node detection. In supervised methods,
models are trained to discriminate between outer
node and non-outer node behavior so that new
observations can be predefined to class. Supervised
methods require accurate identification of outer node
communication in ADHOC network and can only be
used to detect outer node of a type that have before
occur. An improvement of using unsupervised
methods over supervised methods is that beforehand
undiscovered types of outer node may be detected.
Supervised methods are only trained to tell apart
between legitimate communications and previously
known outer node. In the process of MDR with
outlier is perform as , the outer node form range of
communication treat as abnormal and stop the
control message transmission and create spate class
of all these node and spread information to all
neighbor node for updating routing table. This
algorithm consists of two sections: the outlier class
and the outer node class. And the entire node of
ADHOC network treats as normal node.

V. EXPERIMENTAL RESULT

simulate in discrete network simulator ns-2, and used
some standard parameter for performance analysis.

Performance Parameter:Throughput: It gives the fraction of the
channel capacity used for useful transmission (Data
packets correctly delivered to the destination) and is
defined as the total number of packets received by the
destination. It is in fact a measure of the effectiveness
of a routing protocol [14].
Average end-to-end delay: This includes all
possible delays caused by buffering during route
discovery latency, queuing at the interface queue,
retransmission delays at the MAC, and propagation
and transfer times[7].
Packet delivery fraction: The ratio of the
data packets delivered to the destinations to those
generated by the traffic sources [10]
Figure 3 shows that throughput of packet send and
received in communication mode in both two
protocols AODV and AODV-OSPF.
Figure 4 shows that packet delivery ratio of simulated
node in given scenario of AODV Protocol and
AODV-OSPF routing protocol.
VI. CONCLUSION AND FUTURE
WORK
Figure 2 shows that the compression of 30 node
simulation of overall simulation in terms of packet
received, packet send and packet lost in both protocol
AODV and AODV-OSPF routing protocol.

Without infrastructure and node mobility in
ad hoc network is a great challenge in reliability
concern. For reliability concern various method are
proposed for node signal strength in mobile ad hoc
network. The MDR scheme of leader agent and
member surveillance greatly reduces the relative

calculating overheads and communication costs.
Generally speaking, when leader agent node and
surveillance nodes can ensure the reliability, the
communication result is reliable. The dissertation
proposes a novel scheme for outer outlier node
detection in mobile ad hoc network. Our proposed
method uses unsupervised learning technique for
MDR formation. Our proposed method also removes
the node ambiguity in outer range node. And
minimize a packet dropping in mobile ad hoc
network. Our proposed mechanism has overcome
some of the limitations like it has the required some
extra computational time for the process of MDR
allocation in terms of normal and abnormal. It also
introduces little bit computational overhead during
route advertisement and path establishment. proposed
state of the art on reliable MANETs against packet
dropping of outer node. The outer scheme as well as
prevention, detection and reaction mechanism we
have explored. We categorized them into three
categories according to their goals and their specific
strategies. We concluded the proposed schemes based
upon certain assumptions and their specific
characteristics. These works assume that a node tries
always to maximize its benefit by choosing whether
to cooperation the network or not. However those
works are based on assumption that the majority of
the nodes are inner which not a usual case in
MANET is. We can extend this existing approach for
maximum number of nodes in a wireless environment
through the use of more secure channel and
functionality of using buffer system. In future the
current AODV-MDR performance can be improved
with the help of other techniques. In future
enhancement we can improve this performance by
using rough set theory approach.
