Small Group Communication Analysis
This group project was very interesting. It was cool to examine the group teamwork that was involved
and to see the process that was involved. I ve worked with many different groups, but have never
really looked at the way we operate and communicate. From what I observed I was able to see what
was effective during our project, and the specific roles each person took control of.
When we started the small group talk amongst ourselves Lauren Hall started it all. She kind of took
the lead with the project, which was very good. In the small group conversation we had a
communication network that could be considered an All channel. An All channel occurs when each
member may communicate with any other member, allowing for the greatest member participation

Due to her being an emergent leader I believe the situational approach to leadership would show the
technique she followed. This is because she focused on accomplishing the task at hand and ensured
the satisfaction of the members (DeVito, 235). She demonstrated this by starting the group
conversation, and leading it to the delegation stage. Once we did this we all met in person. Once in a
group she was very vocal and helped everyone improve their parts of their project making the
presentation much better, and keeping everyone very satisfied. To me this is what a great leader does.
They empower their fellow teammates to do better. Leadership is defined in two very different ways
(DeVito, 233). The definition that she very much followed is this, leadership is the process of
empowering others; the leader is the person who helps others to maximize their potential and to take
control of their lives (DeVito, 233). This is exactly how she acted throughout the project, which
improved its final

Cheating Is A Hot Topic
Cheating
Introduction
Cheating is a hot topic these days. There is much pressure on a student or child to perform well in
class. Not only does the pressure build academically, but physically on the sports field. As parents, are
we encouraging this behavior because we want our student to do well and achieve the end goal of
being recognized or to receive a scholarship? I see it happening and depending on who the
child/parent is, I might say something, because the end result could result horribly. I can remember a
time, and I am dating myself here, back in high school, I remember it distinctly. I was a sophomore at
Portage Northern High School. I was sitting in Mr. Sterner s Spanish class and we are about to take a
test. Let me advice, Spanish was not a fun class, especially when it is not as interactive as the classes
our children are attending today. Our teachers/professors have learned a few things since the 80 s.
However, I am preparing for a test and yes, I cheated. I purposely wrote answers on the top of my note
book where it just shows indentations of the words I needed. Did I get caught?, YES! Mr. Sterner
pulled me aside after class and directly asked if I did. I wasn t going to lie, but flat out told him that I
did not feel confident or prepared for this exam. I knew others were cheating, but I was one that got
caught and remorse did set in. I was probably more fearful of my parents finding out than anything
else. Yikes! Looking back, I would have a

Pivot joints (known also as rotary joints). These joints allow for rotation around an axis. There is a
pivot joint near the top of your spine that allows your head to move from side to side.
Hinge joints. This type of joint can open and close like a door. Your elbow is a hinge joint. Your biceps
and triceps muscles are basically two people standing on opposite sides of a wall (the humerus, or
upper arm bone), each with one hand reaching over to its respective side of a door (the bones of the
lower arm). The biceps shuts the door, by contracting and lessening the degree of the joint angle, and
the triceps, when it pulls on its respective side of the door, opens the door, as the hinge then ... Show

sodium, potassium, and calcium. This is called the resting potential
3. Electrical impulses are generated by automaticity of specialized cardiac cells
4. Once an electrical cell generates an electrical impulse, this electrical impulse causes the ions to
cross the cell membrane and causes the action potential, also called depolarization

Should 16 Year Olds Be Able To Vote
Due to the society we live in today I personally believe that 16 year olds should be able to vote. For
one, they are given the responsibility to drive, pay taxes, and can be charged with a criminal defense
as an adult. With that being said they are being treated like an adult. Also, at that age you as an
individual know what is best for yourself and others of your age group. This can go as far as gun
ownership which is a problem in some countries, minimum wage as they are the prime age group that
is being affected, as well as education as it affects them in the future and other generations behind
them. Lastly, it would give a greater say in what other generations have to think about who is leading
and area or country. Do you still believe 16 year olds shouldn t vote?
The legal working age in Canada is 14, however the age where most teens are hired is 16. Working
teens at 16 are asked to contribute to their countries wealth by paying taxes. Paying taxes shows that
they are responsible enough to manage their own income and still 16 year olds are seen as too
immature to vote. In a article on the C.D.C website it states, Children at ... Show more content on

In the past, women were not allowed to vote. Now, any women can give her voice in opinions over 18
years of age no matter their gender. Lowering the voting age gives a better say in what other
generations think and can change the way we live for better. Having the same generations vote over
many years can lead to no change and we live to same way for many years. Also by having different
generations and age groups vote, it shows the future of a country thorough what the younger
generations are voting for. Lastly, most of the younger generations have more knowledge about
technology and how they can use that for better and to know what they are voting for. They know what
is right for them and can prove that by what they are voting

System Development Life Cycle Essay
Computer system plays an important role in solving human problem in their daily life. There are
standard steps in order to develop information system called System Development Life Cycle
(SDLC). SDLC is the framework available to build a complete system. There are five phases in SDLC
which are planning, analysis, design, coding, testing and maintenance (refer to Figure 1 in Appendix
1). The first phase in SDLC is planning. In this phase, the potential system development project is
identified. Project manager summarizes all strength and weakness that possible to occur using their
professional skills (Hoffer, George, Valacich, 2008). Next, business plan is defined and documented
by project manager in a formal format. According to Burch ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The interview session has been done by include an open ended and closed ended question which are
related to the implemented project. Next, sampling technique is executed by system analyst who does
evaluation to the current system or prototype. These processes give feedback in evaluation form that
filled after tested the system. Lastly, observation is performed by using questionnaire form. According
to Burch (1992), the questionnaire is analyzed and transform into structured form that easy to
understand. After all information has been collected, structuring of system requirement takes place. It
focused on development process modeling which perform graphically representing the process, or
actions, that capture, manipulate, store, and distribute data between a system and environment (Hoffer,
George, Valacich, 2012, p. 182). In this step, Data flow diagram (DFD) is structured by system analyst
using special tools and techniques to create a decision table. According to Hoffer, George and Valacich
(2012), decision table is a diagram of process logic where the logic is reasonably complicated (p. 200).
This table is useful to help system analyst to make a decision toward the project. Then all information
s gained from this phase are documented in System Analysis Report (SAR) that acts as a guideline or
reference to the future system development project (Burch, 1992). The next phase in SDLC is design.

Remember By James Rose Alternate Ending
James Rose carefully removed his silk blazer and then took the contents of his carefully tailored
trousers and laid them on a table in front of the person he was talking to. The first item he laid out was
his cell phone and then he proceeded to lay out a brand new pink ball gag, two pairs of handcuffs, and
a syringe which was followed by a pair of pliers so razor sharp they could remove a finger at the bone
and another pair of needle nose pliers that could remove a fingernail with a quick jerk. Also in the
room was a 5 gallon pail of water already full as well as a car battery with two wires emanating from

Β Galactosidase Lab Report
Enzymes play a remarkably important role in biological systems. Nearly all reactions in living
organisms are catalyzed by enzymes, a large majority of which have been found to be proteins. The
mechanisms by which enzymes function are varied, but all mechanisms lower the transition state free
energy where the free energy barrier of a reaction is the highest. Thus, an enzymatically catalyzed
reaction proceeds at a significantly increased rate than that of an unanalyzed reaction. Even though the
mechanism of enzymes can be reduced to such a basic idea, it is important to note that enzymes are
incredibly versatile and achieve catalysis through several mechanisms. The mechanisms are identical
to those of chemical catalysts, and thus comes forth ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the Michaelis Menten model, two important kinetic properties of enzymes are related. These

While the Michaelis Menten model is very useful in determining the kinetics of enzymes, but there are
certain limitations to this method of investigating enzyme kinetics. The full analysis of the Michaelis
Menten model and steady state rate is beyond this report. However, it is important to note that the
enzyme substrate complex concentration is assumed to be constant, even though is continuously being
formed and broken. Thus, the product is continuously and steadily being made through the enzyme

The Montgomery Bus
December 1, 1955 was a day that I will never forget because it marks the anniversary of the
Montgomery bus incident. On that date, I had gotten on a city bus to head home after a long day
working at the tailor shop, and I was later arrested. At this point, my mind was focused on why
equality is deserved and how I should defend my spot on the bus. I had been sitting in a seat in the
back half of the bus where I was supposed to go. During a certain point in the ride home, there had
been an excess amount of people getting on compared to the usual 5 10 passengers. Therefore, some
of us blacks had been told to give up our seats to the white people who deserved it more. Me, being
African American was one of the lucky ones who was told to let ... Show more content on

It was a normal day, and I was at work until I had to go. Then everything took a turn once I had sat
down on the bus and was asked to give up my seat to a more deserving person than I. The way I
reacted was by deciding that standing up for myself was the best way to go. So, I stayed on the bus
until the bus driver had called the police to come and get me. They eventually had shown up to where
I was on the bus and handcuffed me, and I was then arrested sitting in a cop car. At the start of the day,
I had foreseen a nice, normal day without having big problems to worry about such as this one. As
soon as this had all happened, and I was arrested and put in jail, my whole day was turned around.
This being said, jail was a very different experience compared to everyday normal routines. It was so
isolated, and you were put in a cell with very little places to sit or things to do. Jail was not a place I
would call nice, but once you re there, you start to think about what you did to end up there in the first
place. Even with those thoughts, I still had the gut feeling, wondering why segregation was a rule that
had to be made. The idea of separating people for the color of their skin was just a way of
discriminating race against people. Many African Americans were living in poverty and ended up in
desperate need for simple, everyday items because they weren t allowed to have good jobs to pay for
those costs. I myself grew up in a family where everyone, no matter what the age, as long as you could
walk and talk, had to work a job to earn money. There were times in my life, when my family and I
barely had enough to keep our house. This just goes to show that everyone matters, and nobody should

Essay On Mother Teresa
If you can t feed one hundred people, then just feed one. This is just one of the many quotes Mother
Teresa gave to the people about her life works of helping people who are less fortunate. Mother Teresa
devoted her life to caring for people who needed help. It was not always easy for Mother Teresa. She
was taunted by others for helping the poor. Despite her agony, Mother Teresa delivered global charity
and kindness, demonstrated saintly intercessions, and attracted miracles; consequently, she was
awarded with a Nobel Peace Prize in 1979, and continues to inspire all throughout the world. Mother
Teresa, born as Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu (Catholic Online), was born on August 26, 1910 in Skopje
(Mother Teresa Biographical). She was born into a family that was known for helping all (Wellman).
Her family comforted the poor, the sick, and drunk people who had been abandoned by their families.
She started school at age six and felt for those who had sinned. At age 18, Gonxha left her home in
September 1928 to go to the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary, known as the Sisters of Loreto, in
Ireland. Gonxha took the name Teresa when she made her first vows in 1931 in Darjeeling, honoring
both St. Teresa of Avila and St. Therese of Lisieux (Mother Teresa Biographical). Teresa began
teaching at the Loreto School in Calcutta, where she eventually became the headmistress (Biema 10).

Essay on Rape and Sexual Assault in the Military
The purpose of this essay is to discuss the issue of rape and sexual assault in the military. The number
of attacks for rape and sexual assault in the military are at an all time high. Women have recently been
allowed to fight on the front line. While this may be a huge achievement for women kind, for this
woman, it is a very scary thought. I am a junior at Texas Academy of Biomedical Sciences; a school
geared towards students wishing to enter the medical field. I may be forced to join the military one
day if a war breaks out and women are needed to protect the country. I would be happy to serve my
country if I did not have to be scared of my fellow soldiers. Rape and sexual assault are major issues

Many victims are not getting the justice they deserve and are often treated worse than the attacker and
targeted because they were raped. Women are not the only demographic that will be lost, young men
will also be discouraged from joining any branches of the armed forces. Our military may be short of
soldiers in its biggest time of need. This would mean that the Selective Services would have to be
called into effect. This would mean that the amount of rapes would drastically increase and military
would be facing a scandal of epic proportions. I am not going to argue the ethics of rape, what is right
or wrong. Instead, I am trying to persuade you that the future safety of our country depends on the
bettering of the system of prosecuting rapists in the military. The soldiers that are in the battles that
protect our country should be protected themselves, and this is the only way to ensure their safety. A
Newsweek article written by Jesse Ellison proves that women are more likely to be raped in the
military than to be killed. The act of rape, while abundant in the military, is not the problem. The
rapists are committing the sinful act multiple times on multiple victims because they are not being
punished. The rapists need to realize that the acts they are committing are illegal and deserve to be
punished. According to Albert Einstein, the definition of

Positive Aspects Of Being An American
Being an American means having the chance to voice your opinion. This can be either good or bad for
multiple reasons. A few positive reasons are that you may have a view that no one has considered or
you may have new ideas for laws and/or acts. A few negatives to everyone has a say is that mainly
elite upper class white males or people with massive amounts of funding are elected to positions of
power. In addition to the political system we have in place we have a great economic system. In
America we are free to buy and sell almost anything we would like to. The one stipulation is that you
cannot sell controlled substances and things of that nature. We are also able to hold a vast assortment
of jobs instead of having a few that the government allows us to choose from. Finally, America has a
great social system. In America you are allowed to practice your religion without being arrested or
killed. We also have a great assortment of different cultures and ethnic groups. America isn t called a

The Importance Of Pearl In The Puritan Society
For about as long as organized religion has existed, faith has been passed down from parent to child.
The children are willed by their parents to follow a set religion and adhere completely to its values,
beliefs and rules. The Puritan time in America was no different. In fact it was likely the era in which
religion and adherence to it was taken the most seriously. The Puritans worship of religion was a
dictating factor when it came to laws, customs, and societal actions. In the novel The Scarlet Letter by
Nathaniel Hawthorne, the portrayal and treatment of Hester s daughter, Pearl, in the Puritan society
develops the theme that religion is an oppressive system of beliefs that dictates the actions and
thoughts of its followers.
Ever since her birth, Pearl s behavior has been a bit off relative to the normal Puritan standard. A
typical Puritan child would not play as a present day child would. They would mature quickly to help
with various chores and other duties that had to be done. Pearl, however, was different. She was
described on multiple occasions as being wild as she truly explored her freedom, and let her
imagination work freely. This is prevalent where Hawthorne writes about Pearl that, At home, within
and around her mother s cottage, Pearl wanted not a wide and various circle of acquaintance. The spell
of life went forth from her ever creative spirit, and communicated itself to a thousand objects, as a
torch kindles a flame wherever it may be applied.

Proper Wear of Shoulder Sleeve Insignia Former Wartime...
The original intent behind the Shoulder Sleeve Insignia Former Wartime Service (SSI FWTS), more
commonly referred to as a Combat Patch, was to show appreciation for an individual soldier s support
in combat operations. It was also, originally, applicable only to soldiers who were assigned or serving
with larger deployed echelons such as brigades, divisions, corps, Army commands or higher. The
Army Regulation (AR) covering the Wear and Appearance of Army Uniforms and Insignia is 670 1. In
Paragraph 28, sub section 17, the guidelines for the combat patch are specifically detailed and
outlined. The general guidelines for wear of the combat patch are: 1. Wear is reserved for individuals

This policy change is effective immediately and is not retroactive. In addition, the policy change and
guidance is applicable to Soldiers of all components that deploy during periods of service designated
for wear of the SSI FWTS, in accordance with AR 670 1, Paragraph 28 17. Originally, for a Soldier to
be authorized to wear a combat patch , the regulation required a minimum of thirty days in the
specified combat zone before approval of a combat patch could be authorized for wear. Under the new
guidance, this also has changed and states that there is now no time in theater requirement to be
authorized to wear the SSI FWTS. When a Soldier is initially assigned or re assigned to a new unit,
they are authorized and required to wear the patch specific to that command on their left sleeve. Under
the new guidance, when a Soldier is deployed to a designated combat zone, those Soldiers are now
authorized to wear the company level or higher patch that they serve with on their right sleeves. One
of the most prevalent changes is that the authorization of a combat patch is no longer dictated by the
Unit s Headquarters element deploying. It also no longer matters how many times the Units alignment
or Operational Control (OPCON) changes during the deployment. When an element below Company
level deploy, the Soldiers assigned to that element are now mandated to wear the

History and Evolution of Health Care Economics
Healthcare economics has drastically changed over the years. It makes up for one sixth of American
budget (Johnson, 2009). Health care economics has drastically changed partly due to new advances in
technology over the years. Money is the factor of health care economics. Money drives economics and
makes up health care and how far it can go. Economics will continue to change and financial advisors
who have more education on health care economic advances will be beneficial to keep with changes in
economics. Economics focuses on market. Market is like the buyer buys a product or ... Show more

One particular factor for the drastically changing health care economics is the fact that as wealthier
people became, the more willing they were to pay for goods and services. Even now, health care is
most often on people s list after they buy food for their families and essentials for their home. With all
the new advances in technology it has created a change in the supply and demand of health care
economics. People in the 1900s were not as eager to consult with getting health care services as they
are in today s time. Medical services have advanced with medications, surgeries, exams, and patient
care. Shifting the financial burden also makes medical care more desirable to individuals. Insurance
companies paying for all or most of medical costs give people more incentive to seek treatment or get
regular visits by the doctor. The value of health care is also the change that has come to health care
economics. People feel their health is priceless and valuable. They are willing to pay to make sure
they are healthy and live a long life. Although the feeling has changed about health care and people
have more money to spend, health care has made dramatic changes in their costs as well. These
changing costs have made a change in health care economics as well. Debt in the US now is mostly
credited to health care bills that Americans rack up. People are willing to spend as much as money as
possible to pay for

The Influence Of American Values
Despite the fact that I am unabashedly myself and unintentionally vocal about most, if not all, of my
opinions, I ve never had a large confrontational moment in my life. The only instances in which I ve
had to defend what I believe in develop from the ideological clashes I have with my family.
Both of my parents were raised in a small pueblo in Guanajuato, Mexico and neither were able to
complete their education past the middle school level. Their values are are geared towards family and
being financially stable, contrasting the individualistic and free form thinking that is encouraged in the
United States. Growing up, I ve juggled the different values of the two cultures. I would select
whichever ideal benefitted me the most at the moment, but as I am most consistently surrounded by
the American value system, it was inevitable that I d lean further towards the American model of
being. The dissonance in values has made itself evident more recently because of my looming
adulthood. Self expression and leaving at 18 aren t typical in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Why Trust Is A Bond That Brings Humans
Hard to gain; easily lost. Trust is earned, not given. Trust is a bond that brings humans as closely as
love does. Trust could be a feeling, or a cause and effect type of thing. Of course, one cannot say that
trust is infinite. Because trust can be gained and lost, and is seen in the actions of us humans as we live
our lives. Some perceive trust as being put it in things such as, God, science, doctors, parents, or even
water treatment plant operators. Other people look at trust only within in a relationship perspective,
such as, being there for your mate. For example, trusting, supporting and showing genuine care for
one another. Trust would also be demonstrated through consistency in his/her actions. For example,
showing up for dates agreed upon time. Keeping private information just between the two of you and
always respecting boundaries. If you only look at trust from these ways you limit trust. Trust covers
nearly every aspect of our lives and displays who you are as individuals. Trust should be earned not
given, and some of the traits of trust are authenticity, experience, confidence, honesty, and integrity.
Authenticity is a trait of trust. Being authentically trustworthy requires that you be honest in all your
dealings big and small. For example, a big way of being authentic in all your dealings is let s say that
you re married to your wife/husband and he/she is going to alcohol for relief from stress. You know
going to alcohol isn t beneficial for them, so the

Subsistence Agriculture vs. Industrial-Style Animal Farming
Contrast subsistence agriculture and industrial style animal farming. Subsistence farming is the most
basic of farming methods where a small plot of land is cultivated by an individual, a family or a
community just to feed their hungry mouths. All the produce is consumed by the family and not
intended for sale outside. The experts believe that this kind of farming is almost primeval and needs to
change quickly to the industrialized mode all over the world, if abject poverty and famine are to be
eradicated. Several factors have worked against the success of implementation, and they are not only
technology related, but social, educational, economic, and political, as well. Many feminist voices
have however, preferred to support the existing method of subsistence farming for the harmony and
relationship that it fostered among the people, with an argument that human relationships, ecology and
togetherness are more important than wealth (Shiva, 1989). In this perspective, subsistence farming
does not contribute to economic growth or capital accumulation or even labor specialization. Since
funds are limited to buy chemical fertilizers, most produce are organic and genetically modified seeds
are never used here (Roosevelt, 2007, Wright, 2007). You will learn from history that subsistence
farming existed in Southeast Asia, Sub Saharan Africa, South and Central America. Over the years;
take the example of British colonized Kenya. Many subsistence farmers in Kenya where pushed

The Power Of The Executive Branch
As the President of the United States, we see him, or possibly in the future her, as the supreme or
ultimate power since they are the highest on the chain. For instance, just as monarchies saw their king
or queens. The power of the Executive Branch is solely invested in the President, also assumes the
position as head of state and Commander in Chief of the armed forces. Everything you hear from the
President is supposed to carry a heavy weight because it is coming from a higher authority figure. You
would think with a stroke of a feather light pen and whatever wish the President has asked for has
been granted. Not exactly. The president has powers outlined specifically by Article II Section II of
Constitution. Although it implements fewer explicit powers to the president than it does Congress.
Opposing popular belief, our president powers are ...far more limited in power than we think (Botsch).
Giving these limitations are some examples to... One of the most prominent issues that arise within the
President s powers to get things approved is the U.S. Constitution itself. Usually the result of
congressional override; not only does it limits powers of the President but Congress, as well. It comes

Gymnasts Resistance Training
Resistance Training
According to Sleeper, Kenyon, Casey (2012), for gymnasts core training is very important.
Gymnastics is a sport that engages the muscles of the entire upper and lower body. Along with training
the rectus abdominis, transverse abdominis, and inner and outer obliques, strengthening the core
involves the stabilization of the pelvis (mid body), the shoulder girdle (upper body), as well as the
spine (upper mid/lower body). Bodyweight exercises are the main type of training modality used by
gymnasts to prepare for competitions (Behm, Colado, 2012). Plyometrics are beneficial for gymnasts

It is, to some extent, a continuation of the Iliad, the other work credited to Homer. The Odyssey is
basic to the cutting edge Western ordinance, and is the second most seasoned surviving work of
Western writing; the Iliad is the most seasoned. Researchers trust the Odyssey was made close to the
end out of the eighth century BC, some place in Ionia, the Greek beach front area of Anatolia. The
lyric basically concentrates on the Greek saint Odysseus (known as Ulysses in Romanmyths), lord of
Ithaca, and his excursion home after the fall of Troy. It takes Odysseus ten years to achieve Ithaca
after the ten year Trojan War. In his nonattendance,

Essay on French Neo Classical
The French Neo Classical era of theatre has influenced today s society in a number of ways including
woman s fashion, dance, architecture and theatre performance. We have seen this throughout history
and it still has continued into today s society. The term Burlesque is usually thought of as slightly
naughty theatre produced and performed between the 1700s and World War II. Webster defines it as a
literary or dramatic work that seeks to mock by means of bizarre embellishment or comic imitation,
mockery usually by caricature or theatrical entertainment of a broadly humorous often earthy
character consisting of short turns, comic skits, and sometimes striptease acts. The word derives from
the Italian burlesco, which itself derives ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The French Revolution (1789 1799) was bordered by two artistic styles, Rococo and Neo classicism.
Before and after the French Revolution, Neo classicism was the main artistic style in France, Europe
and the USA from about 1750 to 1830. This classical revitalization of the later 18th century was
characteristic for its emphasis on archaeological accuracy, the result of the period s unprecedented
level of knowledge of the art and architecture of the ancient world. The heroic phase of Neo classical
painting resulted in Jacques Louis David s most pivotal works, Death of Marat and Oath of the
Horatii. These works personified the Enlightenment thought of Diderot, Voltaire, and Rousseau,
namely the ideas of basic human rights, modern scientific investigation, rationalism and moral
rectitude. In its purest form it is a style principally derived from the architecture of Classical Greece
and the architecture of Italian Andrea Palladio. In form, neoclassical architecture emphasizes the wall
rather than separate identities to each of its parts. In the sixteenth century, France was in turmoil. The
Renaissance in France began in a different way than in countries at peace. In France there was a civil
war between Catholics and Protestants. This civil anxiety lasted until 1594 when Henri IV converted

A traditional ceremony consists of feeding friends and visitors attending, the wedding ceremony
would take place in the hogan with the groom and his father or uncle sitting on the west side followed
by the bride and her father or uncle. Sitting beside the boy on his right side they would be positioned
towards the east which was facing the door. Starting with the girl she would pour water onto the boy s
hands and he would wash them, then he would do the same to her washing her hands, this symbolized
purity and cleansing. A medicine man would then pray quietly while arranging a corn meal mush
decorated with pollen, they would then take turns eating the mush starting with the boy followed by
the girl. Usually they were instructed to eat it all, but if it was not all eaten it would be passed to each
of the boys family members so they could have a bite. Once the mush was eaten the mother of the boy
would keep the basket where the mush had been and preserve it at all times, this was important to a
successful marriage. Traditional weddings were held at night, but modern traditions allow them to be

Operant Conditioning And Classical Conditioning
Classical conditioning is defined as a learning process that occurs when a biological response is paired
with a neutral stimulus in reference of Brembs and Heisenberg (2000). An age old example is Ivan
Pavlov conditioned his dogs to salivate at the sound of a bell by giving them food each time it rang. In
doing such, the dogs learned to associate the sound of the bell to meal time. Operant conditioning is a
spin on classical conditioning, whereas instead of trying to pair a response with a stimulus, a direct
behavioral outcome is achieved with reinforcements or
punishments.
In classical conditioning there are what is called an unconditioned stimulus and an unconditioned
response. The unconditioned response is an unlearned response that occurs naturally in reaction to the
unconditioned stimulus. Such as when someone jerks their hand away when they burn themselves on a
hot stove. There is also a conditioned stimulus and a conditioned response. An example of this would
be getting hungry when you smell the scent of food. The body knows that usually when the smell of
food is around it is time to eat, therefore your stomach rumbled in anticipation of the meal. Sometimes
classical conditioning is referred to as respondent conditioning.
In operant conditioning the goal is to have a specific behavioral outcome. Positive reinforcement
causes the strengthening of a response by adding something. Such as getting a treat after doing
something good. Negative reinforcement is the act of

Background Information on the Sykes Picot Agreement After the war broke out in the summer of
1914, the Allies Britain, France and Russia held many discussions regarding the future of the Ottoman
Empire, now fighting on the side of Germany and the Central Powers, and its vast expanse of territory
in the Middle East, Arabia and southern central Europe. In March 1915, Britain signed a secret
agreement with Russia, whose designs on the empire s territory had led the Turks to join forces with
Germany and Austria Hungary in 1914. By its terms, Russia would annex the Ottoman capital of

On May 19, 1916 representatives of Great Britain and France secretly reach an accord, known as the
Sykes Picot agreement. The Sykes Picot Agreement , officially known as the Asia Minor Agreement
was a secret agreement between the governments of the United Kingdom(Britain) and France, with the
assent aid of Russia, defining their biased proposed spheres of influence that provide them with an
advantage of gaining control in the Middle East should the Triple Entente succeeded in dethroning the
mighty Ottoman Empire during the first World War back in early 1919. The negotiation of this
treaty/agreement occurred between November of 1915 and March of the year 1916. The agreement
finally came to a close on the 19th of May 1916.
The agreement effectively used, implied and put into action the famous imperialistic tactic of the
Europeans: Divide and Rule . This agreement divided the Arab provinces of the Ottoman Empire
outside the Arabian peninsula into areas of future British and French colonization using their
advantage in control and/or influence. Under Sykes Picot, the Syrian coast and much of modern day
Lebanon went to France; Britain would take direct control over central and southern Mesopotamia,
around the Baghdad and Basra provinces. Palestine would have an international administration, as
other Christian powers, namely Russia, held an interest in this region. The rest of the territory in

Chillingworth will not bear the shame in regards to his unfaithful wife, nor be burdened with

common to their understanding, such as beads.
Soon American Indian peoples mastered the art of beadwork and produced breathtaking artwork.

  • 2. Small Group Communication Analysis This group project was very interesting. It was cool to examine the group teamwork that was involved and to see the process that was involved. I ve worked with many different groups, but have never really looked at the way we operate and communicate. From what I observed I was able to see what was effective during our project, and the specific roles each person took control of. When we started the small group talk amongst ourselves Lauren Hall started it all. She kind of took the lead with the project, which was very good. In the small group conversation we had a communication network that could be considered an All channel. An All channel occurs when each member may communicate with any other member, allowing for the greatest member participation (DeVito, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Due to her being an emergent leader I believe the situational approach to leadership would show the technique she followed. This is because she focused on accomplishing the task at hand and ensured the satisfaction of the members (DeVito, 235). She demonstrated this by starting the group conversation, and leading it to the delegation stage. Once we did this we all met in person. Once in a group she was very vocal and helped everyone improve their parts of their project making the presentation much better, and keeping everyone very satisfied. To me this is what a great leader does. They empower their fellow teammates to do better. Leadership is defined in two very different ways (DeVito, 233). The definition that she very much followed is this, leadership is the process of empowering others; the leader is the person who helps others to maximize their potential and to take control of their lives (DeVito, 233). This is exactly how she acted throughout the project, which improved its final ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Cheating Is A Hot Topic Cheating Introduction Cheating is a hot topic these days. There is much pressure on a student or child to perform well in class. Not only does the pressure build academically, but physically on the sports field. As parents, are we encouraging this behavior because we want our student to do well and achieve the end goal of being recognized or to receive a scholarship? I see it happening and depending on who the child/parent is, I might say something, because the end result could result horribly. I can remember a time, and I am dating myself here, back in high school, I remember it distinctly. I was a sophomore at Portage Northern High School. I was sitting in Mr. Sterner s Spanish class and we are about to take a test. Let me advice, Spanish was not a fun class, especially when it is not as interactive as the classes our children are attending today. Our teachers/professors have learned a few things since the 80 s. However, I am preparing for a test and yes, I cheated. I purposely wrote answers on the top of my note book where it just shows indentations of the words I needed. Did I get caught?, YES! Mr. Sterner pulled me aside after class and directly asked if I did. I wasn t going to lie, but flat out told him that I did not feel confident or prepared for this exam. I knew others were cheating, but I was one that got caught and remorse did set in. I was probably more fearful of my parents finding out than anything else. Yikes! Looking back, I would have a ... • 4. Essay on Muscles and Skeleton A LEVEL Pivot joints (known also as rotary joints). These joints allow for rotation around an axis. There is a pivot joint near the top of your spine that allows your head to move from side to side. Hinge joints. This type of joint can open and close like a door. Your elbow is a hinge joint. Your biceps and triceps muscles are basically two people standing on opposite sides of a wall (the humerus, or upper arm bone), each with one hand reaching over to its respective side of a door (the bones of the lower arm). The biceps shuts the door, by contracting and lessening the degree of the joint angle, and the triceps, when it pulls on its respective side of the door, opens the door, as the hinge then ... Electrical impulses are generated by automaticity of specialized cardiac cells 4. • 5. Should 16 Year Olds Be Able To Vote Due to the society we live in today I personally believe that 16 year olds should be able to vote. For one, they are given the responsibility to drive, pay taxes, and can be charged with a criminal defense as an adult. With that being said they are being treated like an adult. Also, at that age you as an individual know what is best for yourself and others of your age group. This can go as far as gun ownership which is a problem in some countries, minimum wage as they are the prime age group that is being affected, as well as education as it affects them in the future and other generations behind them. Lastly, it would give a greater say in what other generations have to think about who is leading and area or country. Do you still believe 16 year olds shouldn t vote? The legal working age in Canada is 14, however the age where most teens are hired is 16. Working teens at 16 are asked to contribute to their countries wealth by paying taxes. Paying taxes shows that they are responsible enough to manage their own income and still 16 year olds are seen as too immature to vote. In a article on the C.D.C website it states, Children at ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the past, women were not allowed to vote. Now, any women can give her voice in opinions over 18 years of age no matter their gender. Lowering the voting age gives a better say in what other generations think and can change the way we live for better. Having the same generations vote over many years can lead to no change and we live to same way for many years. Also by having different generations and age groups vote, it shows the future of a country thorough what the younger generations are voting for. Lastly, most of the younger generations have more knowledge about technology and how they can use that for better and to know what they are voting for. They know what is right for them and can prove that by what they are voting ... • 6. System Development Life Cycle Essay Computer system plays an important role in solving human problem in their daily life. There are standard steps in order to develop information system called System Development Life Cycle (SDLC). SDLC is the framework available to build a complete system. There are five phases in SDLC which are planning, analysis, design, coding, testing and maintenance (refer to Figure 1 in Appendix 1). The first phase in SDLC is planning. In this phase, the potential system development project is identified. Project manager summarizes all strength and weakness that possible to occur using their professional skills (Hoffer, George, Valacich, 2008). Next, business plan is defined and documented by project manager in a formal format. According to Burch ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The interview session has been done by include an open ended and closed ended question which are related to the implemented project. Next, sampling technique is executed by system analyst who does evaluation to the current system or prototype. These processes give feedback in evaluation form that filled after tested the system. Lastly, observation is performed by using questionnaire form. According to Burch (1992), the questionnaire is analyzed and transform into structured form that easy to understand. After all information has been collected, structuring of system requirement takes place. It focused on development process modeling which perform graphically representing the process, or actions, that capture, manipulate, store, and distribute data between a system and environment (Hoffer, George, Valacich, 2012, p. 182). In this step, Data flow diagram (DFD) is structured by system analyst using special tools and techniques to create a decision table. According to Hoffer, George and Valacich (2012), decision table is a diagram of process logic where the logic is reasonably complicated (p. 200). This table is useful to help system analyst to make a decision toward the project. Then all information s gained from this phase are documented in System Analysis Report (SAR) that acts as a guideline or reference to the future system development project (Burch, 1992). The next phase in SDLC is design. According to Weitzel and Kerschberg ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Remember By James Rose Alternate Ending James Rose carefully removed his silk blazer and then took the contents of his carefully tailored trousers and laid them on a table in front of the person he was talking to. The first item he laid out was his cell phone and then he proceeded to lay out a brand new pink ball gag, two pairs of handcuffs, and a syringe which was followed by a pair of pliers so razor sharp they could remove a finger at the bone and another pair of needle nose pliers that could remove a fingernail with a quick jerk. Also in the room was a 5 gallon pail of water already full as well as a car battery with two wires emanating from the positive and negative wires. Ten seconds later, Dmitri s head went to one side and a careful examination of his eyelids indicated he was out cold. • 8. Β Galactosidase Lab Report Enzymes play a remarkably important role in biological systems. Nearly all reactions in living organisms are catalyzed by enzymes, a large majority of which have been found to be proteins. The mechanisms by which enzymes function are varied, but all mechanisms lower the transition state free energy where the free energy barrier of a reaction is the highest. Thus, an enzymatically catalyzed reaction proceeds at a significantly increased rate than that of an unanalyzed reaction. Even though the mechanism of enzymes can be reduced to such a basic idea, it is important to note that enzymes are incredibly versatile and achieve catalysis through several mechanisms. The mechanisms are identical to those of chemical catalysts, and thus comes forth ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While the Michaelis Menten model is very useful in determining the kinetics of enzymes, but there are certain limitations to this method of investigating enzyme kinetics. The full analysis of the Michaelis Menten model and steady state rate is beyond this report. • 9. The Montgomery Bus December 1, 1955 was a day that I will never forget because it marks the anniversary of the Montgomery bus incident. On that date, I had gotten on a city bus to head home after a long day working at the tailor shop, and I was later arrested. At this point, my mind was focused on why equality is deserved and how I should defend my spot on the bus. I had been sitting in a seat in the back half of the bus where I was supposed to go. During a certain point in the ride home, there had been an excess amount of people getting on compared to the usual 5 10 passengers. Therefore, some of us blacks had been told to give up our seats to the white people who deserved it more. Me, being African American was one of the lucky ones who was told to let ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was a normal day, and I was at work until I had to go. Then everything took a turn once I had sat down on the bus and was asked to give up my seat to a more deserving person than I. The way I reacted was by deciding that standing up for myself was the best way to go. So, I stayed on the bus until the bus driver had called the police to come and get me. They eventually had shown up to where I was on the bus and handcuffed me, and I was then arrested sitting in a cop car. At the start of the day, I had foreseen a nice, normal day without having big problems to worry about such as this one. As soon as this had all happened, and I was arrested and put in jail, my whole day was turned around. This being said, jail was a very different experience compared to everyday normal routines. It was so isolated, and you were put in a cell with very little places to sit or things to do. Jail was not a place I would call nice, but once you re there, you start to think about what you did to end up there in the first place. Even with those thoughts, I still had the gut feeling, wondering why segregation was a rule that had to be made. The idea of separating people for the color of their skin was just a way of discriminating race against people. Many African Americans were living in poverty and ended up in desperate need for simple, everyday items because they weren t allowed to have good jobs to pay for those costs. I myself grew up in a family where everyone, no matter what the age, as long as you could walk and talk, had to work a job to earn money. The number of attacks for rape and sexual assault in the military are at an all time high. Women have recently been allowed to fight on the front line. Women are not the only demographic that will be lost, young men will also be discouraged from joining any branches of the armed forces. Our military may be short of soldiers in its biggest time of need. This would mean that the Selective Services would have to be called into effect. This would mean that the amount of rapes would drastically increase and military would be facing a scandal of epic proportions. I am not going to argue the ethics of rape, what is right or wrong. Instead, I am trying to persuade you that the future safety of our country depends on the bettering of the system of prosecuting rapists in the military. The soldiers that are in the battles that protect our country should be protected themselves, and this is the only way to ensure their safety. A Newsweek article written by Jesse Ellison proves that women are more likely to be raped in the military than to be killed. The act of rape, while abundant in the military, is not the problem. The rapists are committing the sinful act multiple times on multiple victims because they are not being punished. The rapists need to realize that the acts they are committing are illegal and deserve to be punished. According to Albert Einstein, the definition of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 14. The Importance Of Pearl In The Puritan Society For about as long as organized religion has existed, faith has been passed down from parent to child. The children are willed by their parents to follow a set religion and adhere completely to its values, beliefs and rules. The Puritan time in America was no different. In fact it was likely the era in which religion and adherence to it was taken the most seriously. The Puritans worship of religion was a dictating factor when it came to laws, customs, and societal actions. In the novel The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne, the portrayal and treatment of Hester s daughter, Pearl, in the Puritan society develops the theme that religion is an oppressive system of beliefs that dictates the actions and thoughts of its followers. Ever since her birth, Pearl s behavior has been a bit off relative to the normal Puritan standard. A typical Puritan child would not play as a present day child would. They would mature quickly to help with various chores and other duties that had to be done. Pearl, however, was different. She was described on multiple occasions as being wild as she truly explored her freedom, and let her imagination work freely. This is prevalent where Hawthorne writes about Pearl that, At home, within and around her mother s cottage, Pearl wanted not a wide and various circle of acquaintance. With all the new advances in technology it has created a change in the supply and demand of health care economics. People in the 1900s were not as eager to consult with getting health care services as they are in today s time. Medical services have advanced with medications, surgeries, exams, and patient care. Shifting the financial burden also makes medical care more desirable to individuals. Insurance companies paying for all or most of medical costs give people more incentive to seek treatment or get regular visits by the doctor. Trust could be a feeling, or a cause and effect type of thing. Of course, one cannot say that trust is infinite. Because trust can be gained and lost, and is seen in the actions of us humans as we live our lives. Some perceive trust as being put it in things such as, God, science, doctors, parents, or even water treatment plant operators. Other people look at trust only within in a relationship perspective, such as, being there for your mate. For example, trusting, supporting and showing genuine care for one another. Trust would also be demonstrated through consistency in his/her actions. For example, showing up for dates agreed upon time. Keeping private information just between the two of you and always respecting boundaries. If you only look at trust from these ways you limit trust. Trust covers nearly every aspect of our lives and displays who you are as individuals. Subsistence farming is the most basic of farming methods where a small plot of land is cultivated by an individual, a family or a community just to feed their hungry mouths. All the produce is consumed by the family and not intended for sale outside. The experts believe that this kind of farming is almost primeval and needs to change quickly to the industrialized mode all over the world, if abject poverty and famine are to be eradicated. Several factors have worked against the success of implementation, and they are not only technology related, but social, educational, economic, and political, as well. Many feminist voices have however, preferred to support the existing method of subsistence farming for the harmony and relationship that it fostered among the people, with an argument that human relationships, ecology and togetherness are more important than wealth (Shiva, 1989). In this perspective, subsistence farming does not contribute to economic growth or capital accumulation or even labor specialization. Since funds are limited to buy chemical fertilizers, most produce are organic and genetically modified seeds are never used here (Roosevelt, 2007, Wright, 2007). A traditional ceremony consists of feeding friends and visitors attending, the wedding ceremony would take place in the hogan with the groom and his father or uncle sitting on the west side followed by the bride and her father or uncle. Sitting beside the boy on his right side they would be positioned towards the east which was facing the door. Starting with the girl she would pour water onto the boy s hands and he would wash them, then he would do the same to her washing her hands, this symbolized purity and cleansing. A medicine man would then pray quietly while arranging a corn meal mush decorated with pollen, they would then take turns eating the mush starting with the boy followed by the girl. Usually they were instructed to eat it all, but if it was not all eaten it would be passed to each of the boys family members so they could have a bite. Once the mush was eaten the mother of the boy would keep the basket where the mush had been and preserve it at all times, this was important to a successful marriage. Traditional weddings were held at night, but modern traditions allow them to be held in the daytime, and because of this some believe it is the reason for divorce and family problems. • 30. Operant Conditioning And Classical Conditioning Classical conditioning is defined as a learning process that occurs when a biological response is paired with a neutral stimulus in reference of Brembs and Heisenberg (2000). An age old example is Ivan Pavlov conditioned his dogs to salivate at the sound of a bell by giving them food each time it rang. In doing such, the dogs learned to associate the sound of the bell to meal time. Operant conditioning is a spin on classical conditioning, whereas instead of trying to pair a response with a stimulus, a direct behavioral outcome is achieved with reinforcements or punishments. In classical conditioning there are what is called an unconditioned stimulus and an unconditioned response. The unconditioned response is an unlearned response that occurs naturally in reaction to the unconditioned stimulus. Such as when someone jerks their hand away when they burn themselves on a hot stove. There is also a conditioned stimulus and a conditioned response. An example of this would be getting hungry when you smell the scent of food. The body knows that usually when the smell of food is around it is time to eat, therefore your stomach rumbled in anticipation of the meal. Sometimes classical conditioning is referred to as respondent conditioning. In operant conditioning the goal is to have a specific behavioral outcome. Positive reinforcement causes the strengthening of a response by adding something. Such as getting a treat after doing something good. Negative reinforcement is the act of ... In March 1915, Britain signed a secret agreement with Russia, whose designs on the empire s territory had led the Turks to join forces with Germany and Austria Hungary in 1914. The Sykes Picot Agreement , officially known as the Asia Minor Agreement was a secret agreement between the governments of the United Kingdom(Britain) and France, with the assent aid of Russia, defining their biased proposed spheres of influence that provide them with an advantage of gaining control in the Middle East should the Triple Entente succeeded in dethroning the mighty Ottoman Empire during the first World War back in early 1919. The negotiation of this treaty/agreement occurred between November of 1915 and March of the year 1916. The agreement finally came to a close on the 19th of May 1916. The agreement effectively used, implied and put into action the famous imperialistic tactic of the Europeans: Divide and Rule . This agreement divided the Arab provinces of the Ottoman Empire outside the Arabian peninsula into areas of future British and French colonization using their advantage in control and/or influence. Under Sykes Picot, the Syrian coast and much of modern day Lebanon went to France; Britain would take direct control over central and southern Mesopotamia, around the Baghdad and Basra provinces. Palestine would have an international administration, as other Christian powers, namely Russia, held an interest in this region. The rest of the territory in question a huge area ... When he comes to town at the beginning of The Scarlet Letter, Chillingworth makes Hester promise not to tell anyone that he is her real husband. Breath not, to any human soul, that thou didst ever call me husband! ... because I will not encounter the dishonor that besmirches the husband of a faithless woman... (Hawthorne 52 53). Chillingworth will not bear the shame in regards to his unfaithful wife, nor be burdened with supporting and providing for her. He is truly a cruel and twisted man. This unfaithfulness to his wife is not his only shame; he also is responsible for the daily, mental torture of Rev. Arthur Dimmesdale. She doubted not, that the continual presence of Roger Chillingworth, the secret poison of his malignity, infecting all the air about him, and his authorized interference, as a physician, with the minister s physical and spiritual infirmities, that these bad opportunities had been turned into a cruel purpose (Hawthorne132).
