Legal Validity Of Natural Law
Legal Validity in the View of Natural Law By: Micah A. Davis October 7, 2014 Abstract In this paper,
I will propose that it is better to look at whether a law is legally valid or not through the perspective of
natural law theory as opposed to positivist theory. My argument consists mostly of the language of
improvement which can only exist based on the theory of natural law which states that law is
something which has an objective truth behind it. Only when there is an objective mark to hit can
there be hits and misses and I believe that positivism disregards the possibility of hits and misses
entirely. So, my argument is that it makes more sense to consider legal validity of a law from the
perspective of natural law rather than positive law because it includes not only the previously set up
legal system when considering validity, but it also considers the general idea of some kind of morality
as well. A sub argument is that the starting legal system must have had some basis by which to have
been created and accepted which must be some form or notion of morality. Legal validity is how valid
or forceful or authoritative a law is within a system ( Validity ). There are many different ways to
interpret what it means when a law within a system changes. One way to view it is in a positivist
perspective. That perspective claims that when a judge changes a law, he is simply stating it based on
the words in the law and his interpretation of words,

Effective Leadership Management
Leadership Effectiveness
What is leadership? A leader is one who influences others to attain goals. The greater the number of
followers correlates to the greater the influence. Additionally, the more successful the attainment of
worthy goals, the more evident is the leadership. However, one must explore beyond this bare
definition to capture the excitement and intrigue that devoted followers and students of leadership feel
when they see a great leader in action. Therefore, employees should seek to understand what
organizational leaders really do and to learn what it really takes to become a truly outstanding leader.
Theories Models
Outstanding leaders combine good strategic substance and effective interpersonal processes to
formulate and implement strategies that produce results and sustainable competitive advantage.
Hence, it is a little overwhelming, especially when inundated with numerous theories about leadership
such as, X Y theory, path goal theory, charismatic, traits theory, Vroom model, and contingency theory,
etc... Additionally, numerous leadership styles exist in which a manager can employ, such as laissez
faire, transformational, employee centered, tasks centered, close supervision, participative,
democratic, or autocratic (Elliott 2011).
Transactional Leadership
The transactional leadership theory is one, which is most widespread and commonly used in most
organizations (e.g. military). It is based on transactions or deals made between an employee and an

Diverse Cultures And Various Political Systems Fuel The...
Diverse cultures and various political systems fuel the complicated relationship between states,
making international cooperation a relevant topic of discussion. Political scientists use these
discussions to come up with theories that can predict different levels of cooperation, the likelihood
that collaboration might occur and what sorts of conditions are necessary to promote higher levels of
cooperation between states. Neorealists and neoliberals have developed opposing theories on this
topic. Neorealists focus on explaining the anarchic structure of the world to place emphasis on the
permanence of conflict. They believe that states should primarily focus on securing survival and
security through an economic and military build up. On the other hand, according to Essentials of
International Relations, neoliberals view the world as anarchic and individual states as self interested,
but draw different conclusions about state behavior than neorealists, predicting that they are more
likely to cooperate due to the influence of institutions (Mingst and Arreguin Toft, 117). Neoliberals
aim to bring about security and survival while promoting economic gains and believe that cooperation
is achievable if states share common interests. In this paper I am going to explain in what ways
neoliberalism is more likely promote cooperation in the international system, than neorealism. While
neoliberals do not deny the anarchic nature of the international system, they do however believe its

The Representation of Children in the Media Essay
The Representation of Children in the Media
I am writing about how children are represented in the media, after a group investigation carried out to
see how they are portrayed in different papers; local newspapers, tabloids and broadsheets. We were
looking to see if newspapers showed positive or negative images of children and how they portrayed
them in general.
In local papers there are usually articles of local news from around the area, items for sale and
advertisements. Local papers highlight local stories and issues. Local papers usually have the scores or
information about local teams in the sport section. The local papers are distributed to a specific area
and usually contain news about ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You often get emotional views of people s life, if sometimes good or bad has happened to a famous
person. You also get a biography or diary about someone s life and how they lived, mostly successful
people or important people who have died. Tabloids do tend to run sensational emotional stories.
Broadsheets are similar to tabloids, but most of the broadsheets present a more balanced view of the
news. They fund to be not as sensational and more factual and informative.
Local papers have more pictures then any other kind of paper, they have more pictures of children,
and the readers are able to see children of their own or children that they know of. In the most positive
pictures you see children achieving or being brilliant. In some pictures you will see children as
victims, but often they will have happy endings. They also show brave little angels that have helped
their community and someone shown as accessories to local heroes or famous people e.g. David
Beckham and his son s Brooklyn and Romeo.
Tabloids often don t have many pictures of children, and it is unusual to see a child achieving
something in a tabloid. The international stories are often extreme and very emotive. The children are
either devils or angels. Tabloids are biased and

American Imperialism In Japan Analysis
Nationalism has socio politically, internationally, and economically impacted Japan between 1750 and
1980 to controversial benefits and disadvantages. Nationalism can be defined as the shared patriotism
to the nation amongst the people and that the interests and needs of the nation state surpasses those of
other countries. This can serve as a unifying force and, in this case, it had a major socio political
impact and contributed to the development of a new national identity through establishing national
icons. The international impact stemmed from the wars raged by Japan against other nation states to
assert superiority and hold off potential invasions and conquests from strong Western powers. The
Industrial Revolution, powered by the hard ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After centuries of living in seclusion to the outside world, the government knew that they needed the
technological advancements that the West offered. The Industrial Revolution and growing urbanisation
in Japan had intended to and succeeded in mimicking Western growth. Moreover, the Japanese were
well known for their diligence, discipline, perseverance, and hard work this resulted in substantial
economic development including increased shipping of commodities and a significant expansion of
trade and handicraft industries. However, the political elite pocketed most of the profits through
influence and corruption. Workers and farmers found it unfair that their patriotic and back breaking
labour only received a little wage in comparison, but with a state controlled media and education
system, they couldn t make their voices heard. So overall, this collective and nationalistic open
mindedness for communal prosperity was beneficial for Japan as a whole, but the common people
were disadvantaged with no access to basic human rights and a fair

Theories of Classical Management
The classical approach were established and carried out in the early 1900centyry. Group of technician,
manager and scientist came up with idea in order to reduce industrial dispute. They are Frederick
Taylor the theory of scientific management, Max Weber theory of bureaucracy, and Henri Fayol
theory of classical management. Most of them theories were based on the principal for a
comprehensive theory of management. Now I am going to discuss about perspective view of each
theories. Frederick Taylor came up with the principal theory of scientific management. His theory put
emphasis on how an organisation can increase or gain their productivity through strong management
control and supervision on worker and planning and maintain structure of organisation. He believe in
so called Division of labour worker can do best and process can be run smoothly if worker assigned to
a limited number of specific task. He argued best result will out come if the employee appointed for a
specific task and monitor them closely. Taylor found out that lack of employee initiative in the work
place was the major issue of inefficient work in the organisation. He believes that the organisation
emphasis more on external job rather than focusing on internal process of the production line, giving
less priority to the external process created negative impact on organisation such as waste of time,
human effort and materials. The reasons behind that were at that time most of the organization used to

The Provision Of Communications Equipment And System On...
All communication systems have an appropriate level of priority, availability and safety integrity.
These facilities should be resistant to access by unauthorized persons.
The provision of communications equipment and system on heritage and minor system should be
considered with care and supported with fully documented risk analysis as required. It is
recommended that system should be installed, maintained and operated to preserve their inherent
levels of security which was originally specified, often asa result of serious mishaps to prevent the
future mistakes which could lead to an infortune outcome. CONCENTRATOR SYSTEM
If a telephone concentrator is provided or available it should provide at least the following minimum
requirements.
1) Only one call at a time can be established between the operator s hand and a remote party at any
time one time.
2) No interruption or any noise by a third party should be possible under normal working condition.
3) The level of over hearing could be abundantly low as to wipe out the possibility of confusion with
other calls.
4) All systems should provide a facility which enables the operator to call the remote telephone.
In telecommunication, the term concentrator has the following meanings:
1. In data communication, a functional unit that allows a common path to handle may data sources
than there are channels currently available within the path. A concentrator usually gives
communication capability between many low speeds, mostly

Analysis Of Disney Cartoons From Disney
I watched all of THE BOOZE HANGS HIGH, RED HOT RIDING HOOD, MONKEY DOODLE,
FAST AND FURRY OUS, and AN OPTICAL POEM. These animations were very different from the
likes of Disney. I noticed that almost all of these animations were meant for adults definitely not
children. I also realized that the animation styles were different from Disney. Pigs drinking booze, Red
Riding Hood as a burlesque singer, lustful monkeys looking at naked female monkeys with proper
human anatomy, Road Runner being blown to smithereens by Coyote. Just think about all the scenes I
just described. Would you want your children being exposed to these things? I believe most
commendable parents even nowadays would say HELL NO!! I was baffled and surprised at how
cartoons of this time were not meant for kids. This seemed so backward to me, growing up watching
LOONEY TOONS as a kids show. I think that cartoons started this way due to the people who were
going out to the movies and watching these cartoons were adults. Adults don t want to watch cartoons
that appeal to children when they are on a date or trying to get time away from their kids. In contrast,
from Disney, the competition saw an untouched market. Disney quickly began to focus their cartoons
toward children. The competition, on the other hand, marketed to a more mature audience. Making
studios like Warner Brothers have a lucrative stake in the animation business. The hilarity of it is that
these days THE LOONEY TOONS cartoons are kid friendly they won t even show the episode where
Elmer Fud kills Bugs Bunny. The fact that the competitor s studios decided to aim for a more mature
audience shows me two things. The first is the studios did not believe they could compete head to
head with Disney. Lastly, it shows that the studios were not scared to create cartoons that were lewd.
In essence, the competing studios handled their published animations in a business minded way. They
decided not to compete head on with Disney but to offset themselves from Disney s audience and
reach the audience that made and held the money. In PLANE CRAZY no background is the same. In
MONKEY DOODLE and FAST AND FURRY OUS, we observe the same background scene used
more than once in a scene that

Shinto And Buddhism Similarities
Among East Asian religions Shinto and Buddhism tend to revolve around the same sphere of life. This
concept is mostly due to Japan borrowing many religious beliefs and practices from China which led
to a synthesis between Shinto and Buddhism. However, when it comes to Shinto shrines and Buddhist
temples there are remarkable differences and similarities between their ways of worship and
appearance. When it comes to Shinto there is no historical founder, no official scriptures, and no
organized teachings. However, Buddhism was founded by Siddhartha Gautama while scriptures
include the Pali Canon and the Mahayana sutras. Also, Buddhists take refuge in the principles of the
Buddha (the teacher), Dharma (the teachings), and the Sangha ( the monastic ... Show more content on

Moreover, the appearance of temples tend to be different as there is typically a torii outside of a Shinto
shrine and Buddhist temples typically have a pagoda. Also, the placement of the religious sites
geographically is distinct as Shinto shrines are unique to China while Buddhist temples are seen in
China, India, Japan, Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia while it can also be in other places as Buddhism is
a widespread religion. Furthermore, when it comes to worship those in a Shinto shrine tend to clap
before a worship and in Buddhist temples there is usually silence as there is an incorporation of
meditation in their

Example Of Justifying A Value
1.) The first example of justifying a value is when getting my car detailed. I am looking at market
value, fair value and the utility factor for the services. This service satisfies the need and desire for a
clean car to take clients out with, after it was dirtied by a tough winter. I compared prices for similar
car detailing services, and asked around for referrals from several people. Of the two companies, one
was recommended strongly. I saw examples of each work and agreed with the highly recommended
company. In my opinion, the cost at the time was fair value and, compared to other detailers, was
market value. The prices were advertised for a year without any price increase. The second example of
justifying a value is when purchasing products from Starbucks Coffee. There is a slight influence upon
me through the desire of my teenage daughter wanting to visit the coffee shop. With my effective
purchasing power, and both our desire of a drink/coffee/treat once and a while, we will go to
Starbucks. It is true that Starbucks is a Going Concern, and their prices are fair value compared to
Timothies and Tim Hortons. I have joined their rewards program, which enables me to occasionally
receive free or discounted drinks, as well as free refills. Starbucks, with the loyalty program, is an
investment value to me.

The Environmental And Societal Impact Of Waste Management...
Introduction
Emerging understanding of the environmental and societal impact of waste management has led to a
significant development of municipally lead practices under the model of sustainable resource
management (Cimpan, 2015). Recycling the recovery of the material value in waste provides
opportunities for both economic and environmental sustainability by reducing fuels usage, carbon
dioxide emissions, and the quantity of waste sent to landfills. The United States Environmental
Protection Agency has identified that one year of recycled material translates to a reduction of 186
million tons of carbon dioxide emissions, and 40% of the material waste that annually ends up in US
landfills are products that could have been recycled (Trudel). Decreasing landfill space and increasing
urban waste generation require the implementation of both an effective and efficient recycling system,
as recycling is a costly waste management strategy for municipalities (Lakhan, 2015). Single stream
sorting and dual stream sorting programs are popular policy responses to municipal managing of
recyclables. There are several context specific factors that impact the efficiency and effectiveness of
both sorting systems that must be considered by municipalities when deciding which system to
implement.
Choosing to Recycle
According to the waste hierarchy, source reduction and reuse are far more sustainable waste
management practices than recycling, but it can be extremely difficult to implement

Sympathy In The Phantom Of The Opera
The first thing that comes to someone s mind when they think about a phantom or a ghost, usually
does not involve a real human or the word sympathy. In the novel, The Phantom of the Opera by
Gaston Leroux, this actually is the case. A deformed human, who lives deep under the opera and is
stuck in a love triangle, causes problems for the people of the opera. The real definition of sympathy
is: feelings of pity and sorrow for someone else s misfortune (123). Which does not apply to the
Phantom because ultimately he is not a sympathetic character. He had a bad past and he doesn t care
about others which leads him to kill and torture people for no apparent reason. The Opera Ghost isn t
just unsympathetic while he lives in the Opera, but he was also unsympathetic as a child and younger
adult. Back when he was in Mazenderan working for the Little Sultana, he murders many people: He
had lived in India and acquired and incredible skill in the art of strangulation. He would make them
lock him into a courtyard to which they brought a warrior usually, a man condemned to death armed
with a long pike and a broad sword. Erik had only his lasso... Erik tightened the noose round his
adversary s neck and, in this fashion, dragged him before the little sultana and her women, who sat
looking from a window and applauding (Leroux 140). Yes, all the men that he kills have already been
condemned to death, but he mercilessly kills them without knowing their story or feeling any sorrow
or pity for the person he is about to kill. This shows that the Opera Ghost, Erik, is a very
unsympathetic character in the novel. Children learn from their parents and as they get older they tend
to do a lot of the same things, in the same way, that their parents do. ... My mother, daroga, my poor,
unhappy mother would never ... let me kiss her ... she used to run away ... and throw me my mask!
(167). His mother never felt sorry for him, and she never had any sympathy for him. He might have
learned from her that you don t have to feel bad for people, or possibly he just thought that his
situation is the worst and no one has it has bad as he does; so why should he take his time to feel bad
for them? The fact that he has a torture chamber in his

Irony In The Pearl
What if something seems so worthwhile, you would risk everything to try to get it? The Pearl by John
Steinbeck focuses on a man named Kino. Kino found a pearl whose value was so great that it could
potentially give his family everything they wanted. But Kino quickly lost sight of what really mattered
and let suspicion, anger, and fear overtake him. Throughout the book, Kino s family is subjected to
multiple tragedies. A tragedy is an event causing great suffering, destruction, and distress, like a
serious accident. Kino caused the tragedies his family experienced because he only cared about the
pearl, had no control over himself, and didn t listen to others.

him to throw the pearl away, Kino continued to believe in the value and importance of the pearl. Early
on Juana tried to convince Kino to get rid of the pearl, This pearl is a sin! It will destroy us, and her
voice rose shrilly throw it away. (John Steinbeck 38). Kino would have ordinarily taken into
consideration his wife s concerns and this was out of character. While under the spell of the pearl, It
didn t matter to him that Juana had his best interest in mind when she advised him to get rid of the
pearl. Even after Kino was attacked, he was unwavering in his conviction in the value of the pearl, but
Kino s face was set, and his will was set Kino was given many chances to throw away the pearl, but
yet he was stubborn and continued to believe in the pearl even though his world was falling apart and

What Is The Most Memorable Moment In A Movie
Lights, Curtain, Action
The lights dimmed, the curtain lifted, and the actors came out. My excitement was growing, first
starting in my throat, then working its way to my stomach. The sound of the instruments filled the
theater as the actors start to sing in loud clear voices. This was how my most memorable moment in
my childhood started, at the Times Union Center Theater in the last week of February.
My interest in theater started when I was a little girl. In particular, it was a movie that started this love.
I can still remember the day my father brought home that movie, The Phantom of the Opera. It was the
first musical I watched that was not Disney. After watching it, I felt overwhelmed with all the
emotions expressed in the movie. Of course, being as young as I was then, I was unable to quite
understand the meaning in the movie but that was not a problem. I was more interested in the singing
and dancing that was shown throughout the movie. It was this musical that influenced me to pursue a
career in theater and movies.
Even though I loved the musical so much I never did see it live. My family could not afford to buy
tickets and very rarely did the show come to my hometown. That is until I was 17 when they came to
the Times Union Center in Jacksonville. My sister and I were thrilled, but instantly our excitement
died when we remembered that we do not have the money for tickets. The both of us decided to start
coming up with ways to earn money, such as extra chores and odd jobs around the neighborhood.
Slowly but surely we began to earn money.
By the end of December, we were still short a couple hundred bucks and seats were selling out
quickly. It was Christmas Day when the most wonderful thing happened. My family was opening up
presents and it was my turn to open mines. My father handed me this large present and inside was a
slightly smaller present and inside that was an even smaller present which inside contained an
envelope. Inside of that envelope was a Christmas card with the inside saying Soak up this moment!
Clipped to the side of the card was three tickets to The Phantom of the Opera. I was overjoyed, I let
out a little squeal and could not stop thanking my parents. Finally, I can see the

What Are The Four Basic Techniques In Physical Assessment
16. Demonstrate the four basic techniques utilized in the pysical assessment. The four basic
techniques utilized in the physical assessment are inspection, palpation, percussion, and ascultation.
To begin the techniques I will first wash my hands, and then make the patient as comfortable as
possible. Then I will start by inspecting the patient. I will observe the patient s state of consciousness
by having the patient repeat their name and date of birth along with telling me where they are at, and
what the date is. If there are any abnoramalities their, I will document them. Next I will observe their
overall state of health, look for any signs of physical distress. I will then look for any lacerations,
bruises, visible lumps or bumps, or things such as moles and birth marks, and body symmetry. Again,
if anything is abnormal I will document my findings. Also when inspecting the patient I will document

Before administering any medication to a patient I check to see if I have the right patient by checking
their bracelet, and have them repeat their name and date of birth, then compare the name on the

allergies. Once I have the right patient, I will verify that I have the right medication. First, I will check
the medication order, and if something is unclear then I would ask the prescribing physician to clarify
the order. The next thing I must do is triple check the medication label. The triple check involves
checking the label when you retreive the medication, prepare the medication, and before administering
the medication. A side note to include here is that a nurse must never administer medication that was

A Study Of Personality Between Samsung, Samsung And Motorola
Against: ========= The inner characteristics, unique to individuals define their personality it
reflects the individual differences. Some individuals are very social, some are timid, some adventurous
and some methodical. While one s personality is often interpreted by those we interact with, the
person has their own vision of their personality this influences their buying behaviour. Thus, a study
of personality is very important for marketers, as it can help them differentiate and segment consumers
into separate groups on the basis of their personality traits. Consumers associate they choices with
their personality, physical activities, associations with others and their interests. Thus their buying
behaviour is mapped to their choices with their psycographic measures (how they live, work and
play). Personality of the buyer defines the items that are more likely to be valued. Consumers are
willing to pay a premium for items that reflect their personality. Motorola did a spectacular job with
the mobile Moto X . It is Motorola s flagship phone, priced appropriately for a flagship device.

is much higher, compared to consumer goods. An individual s perception is not of as much of

Designing A New Logo For The Company
The name change to Bayerische Motoren Werke compelled management to devise a new logo for the
company, therefore the famous BMW trademark is designed and patented at this time. However, they
remained true to the imagery of the previous Rapp Motorenwerke emblem (which was designed by
Karl s brother, Ottmar Rapp). Thus, both the old and the new logo were built up in the same way: the
company name was placed in a black circle, which was once again given a pictorial form by placing a
symbol within it. By analogy with this, the blue and white panels of the Bavarian national flag were
placed at the center of the BMW logo. Not until the late 1920s was the logo lent a new interpretation

The Importance Of Foreign Language In Schools
In the nineteenth century, the United States set the precedence for racism. While the problems may
appear consummated, the people of today know that is not totally the case. With the amount of cultural
presence continuously growing, the ubiquity of foreign language should be taken more seriously. One
reason to learn them [foreign languages] is because they are tickets to being able to participate in the
culture of the people who speak them, just by virtue of the fact that it is their code, begins McWhorter
of TED (McWhorter, 2016). Consequently, schools should offer foreign language classes sooner in a
child s life than freshman year of high school because this type of learning introduces them to cultural
differences, increases their learning abilities and helps them understand learning styles of varying
levels.
Throughout the years, U.S. citizens have viewed the United States as the dominant country. When
discussing the topic of languages, many are quick to reply with English, and some even fight for
countless hours over the legality of English becoming the universal language. However, while a large
amount of the people in the United States speak American English, the government cannot calibrate
the official language of the United States today (Constitution, 2017). Many people who speak a
second language also learn English, so they can cater to the needs of those in America. Now,
Mandarin Chinese is spoken by more people, but more Chinese people are learning English

Hafu Essay
Hafu is the term used in Japan to describe children of half Japanese descent. This term is derived from
the English
Half which, when used in the Japanese language, indicates that a person is only half of the Japanese
culture. According to Hafu Japanese the term Hafu originated in the 1970s and is now the most
commonly used label for half Japanese children (Hafu Japanese, 2010). Being called half might seem
like an insult to some people, in Japan it is not really meant this way. In a YouTube video Japanese got
asked about what image they have about Hafu, most of them answered that they wanted to be a Hafu
as well. Almost all the answers to this question were positive; they are pretty, they have long legs, they
have the best of both worlds. The majority of the Japanese seem to have positive views on what it is
like to be a Hafu, but they might not have a proper understanding of what it is like to be Hafu. So
despite the positive image the Japanese have, life in Japan is not easy for people with mixed roots
(Views from the street on Hafu, 2010).
Japan is a very homogenous country. Research from 2013 shows that foreigners make up 1.5% of the

Marginal Revenue (MR) is the adjustment altogether income because of a unit change in amount. So
also Marginal cost (MC) is the additional cost of producing a unit. These two ideas are extremely
helpful in ideal designation of assets.
Assets will mean all variables of creation utilized as a part of the generation process. Such assets are
rare. So every firm will attempt to make ideal allotment of such rare assets to get most ideal result.
A business is keep running with the essential goal of amplifying benefit. Along these lines ideal

Business sector is instrument which helps in ideal allotment of assets. On the off chance that a firm

Week 13 Introduction to Macroeconomics (Chapters 16 and 17)
1. In the years to 2050 the Japanese population is expected to decline, while the fraction of the
population that is retired is expected to increase sharply. What are the implications of these population
changes for total output and average living standards in Japan, assuming that average labour
productivity continues to grow? What if average labour productivity stagnates?
Solution 1:
Slowing population growth and an increased share of retired people both imply slower growth in the
number of people employed. If average labour productivity (output per employed worker) continues to
grow at earlier rates, total output will still grow more slowly than before, because of ... Show more

3. The following data give total output, total population and numbers employed for Germany and
Turkey in 2009. Find output per person and average labour productivity in each country. How do
living standards compare? | Germany | Turkey | Output (billions of $s) | 1,631 | 590 | Population
(millions) | 83 | 77 | Numbers employed (millions) | 40 | 23 |
Solution 3: Germany: output per person is $1,631 billion / 83 million people = $19,651 per person;
average labour productivity is $1,631 billion / 40 million employed = $40,775 per person employed.
Japan: output per person is $590 billion / 77 million people = $2,662 per person; average labour
productivity is $590 billion / 23 million employed = $25,652 per person employed. Both the living
standard (output per person) and average labour productivity (output per worker) are higher in
Germany than in Japan. But the difference between living standards in the two countries is more
marked than the difference in labour productivity. 4. Data released in February 2011 suggests that

southern woman s life while learning about her strange habits and how she became the conversation of

anything more about Emily other than the gossip spreading around. The selfishness of the commotion
of a new thing to say poor Emily for had become very worn out by the time her funeral came around,

Effects Of Chemistry On The Environment
There is no doubt that our knowledge of science and scientific procedures have changed over time. As
new tools and technologies that appeared during the 20th century, chemistry, physics, biology, and

humanity by increasing living standards and have brought more widespread wellness to society. For
instance, because of the existence of chemistry, society has been provided with more advanced
medicine, fabrics for clothes, plastics, rubber, componds of personal care products, parts of cars, home

The Bosnian-Herzegovina Genocide And Ethnic Cleanse
Introduction
The Bosnian Herzegovina genocide or ethnic cleansing went on from April 1992 to December 1995
around the end of the Second World War. When Bosnia became its own independent nation on April
5th 1922 it wanted to cleanse its country of any non Serbian residents. The killing of Bosnian Muslims
during this time was stated by international tribunals to be an ethnic cleansing however the events that
took place in July 1995 in Srebrenica was so horrific it was deemed a genocide. The United Nations
should have intervened a lot sooner than they did and should have sent more than just peace keepers to
protect the human beings that were being slaughtered.
Victims
The victims targeted during the Bosnian Herzegovina genocide were mostly Bosnian Muslims and
Croatians. The majority of the people that were being murdered and executed were male (boys and
men), while the women were being raped and tortured. The downfall of the Ottoman Empire gave a
rise to the thoughts of nationalism which in turn caused the ethno religious (an ethnic group whose
members are also unified by a common religious background) in Bosnia to have clashing issues like
historical problems between groups and political issues. The three different groups which were living
in Bosnia were obviously Bosnians but also Serbians and Croatians.

His strict outlook on the girls is a big indicator of this age and how he grew up. Queenies bathing suit
screams rebellion as all eyes were on the girls. The girls instantaneously grasping the attention of all
the male characters shows how substantial the bathing suits are as a symbol.
Another major symbol in Updike s story is sheep. In this short story, Sammy refers to the people
shopping in the store as sheep. This symbolizes that people are followers of the majority and do not
use their own brain or logic. They conform to the crowd mentality. The sheep pushing their carts down
the aisle the girls were walking against the usual traffic (not that we have any one way signs or
anything) were pretty hilarious (Updike 18). This was not the only time he described people in the
story as sheep. He also refers to the two girls following Queenie around as sheep. This was his way of
expressing that the girls actions because they followed a leader and did not express any ideas or
thoughts of their own. The girls conformed to their own friend group. The story displayed that the
girls going in the opposite direction showed their rebellious side. Sammy viewed sheep as followers
who stick together and act, talk, think, and dress the alike. This is major when looking back to one of
the stories theme of conformity. In the 1950s and early 1960s, conformity was a large social standard.

Michael Heim s Virtual Reality
Michael Heim describes virtual reality as an event or entity that is real in effect but not in fact . He

The Essence of VR, Heim goes on to define this term by examining the seven divergent concepts

full body immersion, and network communications (1993:109 114).
Heim notes that certain analysts attempt to dodge the term virtual reality since it appears to make great
cases for it. At MIT and NASA, they incline toward virtual situations, and a few colleges would rather
there be virtual planets. As a thinker, Heim is not reluctant to make extraordinary and respectable
cases for virtual reality, which he recommends may reasonably be viewed as the Holy Grail of

is being done by people who have no right meddling with everyone s rights. Civilization has always
been plagued by a never ending battle being fought over what is deemed right and wrong. In today s
culture, censorship oppresses everything in the media. From movies and music to television and even
news stories, most of the content viewed today has been filtered one way or another. Restrictions have
been in place since early societies have been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Today, censorship is in place in more ways than you can imagine. As mentioned previously, movies,
music, television, and more are filtered one way or another. Some people go to such lengths as illegal
means of spreading materials deemed inappropriate for a certain viewing audience. When the United
States was established, the first amendment guaranteed the rights to free speech and free press.
However, it has never been interpreted to mean that all forms of expression are legal (Zorea). The
common misconception is that people believe that all forms of expression are legal, but that has never
been the case, and probably never will be. Intellectual freedom is important because it allows people
to express their ideas or beliefs however they feel is appropriate (Intellectual Freedom Manual). With
censorship, that freedom is stifled and breaches the right everyone has for that intellectual freedom.
Also affecting that freedom is the influence that outside sources can have on your own thoughts and
actions. People tend to rely more on television and other electronic media to give them false ideas or
impressions. Currently, censorship in music is possibly the most relevant form of censorship. One of
the more disturbing signs of censorship in music is a condition nearly snuck into the USA PATRIOT
Act that would allow the government to hack private citizens computers to delete what they consider
to be illegal MP3 song files (Blecha 179).

Persuasive Speech On Animal Testing
As a huge animal lover, I was disgusted to hear about Ebbie s story. Ebbie was a beagle rescued from
an animal testing lab in Spain. When he was rescued by an organization called Beagle Freedom
Project, he was deathly ill, emaciated and had tumors all over his frail body. Before being rescued, he
had spent his entire life in solitary confinement where humans tested many deadly chemicals on him.
When he first moved into his new home after being rescued, he just spent his days lying on the floor
and was unwilling to interact with humans in anyway. It s truly incredible that after months of love
and compassion from people that fostered him, he learned about love and trust towards humans after
being so dramatically traumatized from the abuse he received in a lab. I stand here today to present
you with the issue that needs to be addressed immediately: the abuse of millions of innocent and
defenseless animals through animal experimentation. Millions of animals are in agonizing pain while
being kept in tiny cages of labs while scientists inject dangerous substances in them and perform risky
surgeries on them. Such immorality of scientists is allowed because there are no laws that prohibit this
torture and protect the quality of life of these innocent animals. The root of animal testing started
thousands of years ago when scientists studied animals. During the early twentieth century, more
people became curious about biology and body systems; therefore, studied on animals. As

When her husband John Adams became president she became the second First Lady of the United
States. During the Revolutionary War she wrote letters to her husband about women s rights. Also
during the war she allowed soldiers to hide in her house, train in her yard, and she also melted utensils
to make musket balls for the soldiers.
This paragraph will be about interesting facts on Abigail Adams.
Her husband John Adams was a friend of Abigail s sister Mary s fiancé. In 1783, Abigail took her
daughter Nabby to Paris to meet up with John Adams, soon the Adams packed up and moved to
London to meet the King of England. It is believed that the couple exchanged over 1,100 letters.
I learned some really interesting information while researching this biography. I can conclude that
Abigail was a really great person. I was able to learn about how girls were treated and compare to how
they are treated now. Also how some people helped the soldiers fighting for our country during the
war. Lastly, a quote by Abigail Adams, Deliver me from your phlegmatic, politicians, friends, lovers,

Jane Erye vs. Charlotte Bronte Essay
Charlotte Bronte, born in 1816 at Thornton, Yorkshire, England, is an English writer who is one of
three sisters, who are also famous for their writings. Bronte wrote Jane Eyre based on her own life
experiences, which is why the novel is subtitled An Autobiography . Much of the romantic appeal in
Jane Eyre comes from Bronte s own personal history. Many critics argue that the novel is simply a
reflection of Bronte s life. Furthermore, there are several ways in which, Bronte s life is similar to the
life of Jane and the events that take place in the novel.
Charlotte is described as simple, plain, and petite and the daughter of a clergyman just like Jane.
Whenever, Charlotte wanted to get away from her daily life, she would absorb herself ... Show more

Like Jane, Charlotte s first job was being a governess. She was a governess for the Sidgwick family,
until her shyness ruined up her attempts to earn a living this way.
Later in 1842 as Charlotte began to travel, she fell in love with M. Heger, who was married, just like
Rochester who is also married to Bertha. M. Heger was also the owner of the Pensionnat Heger, which
is the school that Charlotte attended and she later became a teacher there. In 1844, she tried to open
her own school, but failed, just as Jane failed when she tried to open her own school while staying
with the Rivers. Lastly, after all the suffering she caused Charlotte, Ms. Branwell died in 1848 and
Mrs. Reed also dies. Charlotte finally got married after being proposed to four times and had a child,
but she died in 1855 during her pregnancy. At the end of the novel, Jane also got married to Rochester,
after he had previously asked for her hand in marriage and John Rivers also asked for her hand and
she had a son, but does not die.
Conclusively, Jane Eyre can be said to be an autobiography written by Charlotte Bronte, because
many of the significant events that occurred in Charlotte s life were also happening to Jane in the
novel. Jane Eyre is a detailed reflection of Charlotte s life, from her childhood to adulthood.

George W. Bush s Faith Based Initiative and the Separation of Church and State Clause
Nowhere in the U.S constitution or any other official documents does it say that there must be strict
separation of church and state . This clause was used by Jefferson in his letter to the Danbury Baptist
Association of Connecticut on January 1, 1802 (Truthwalk 1). After being revised six times by one of
our founding fathers, James Madision, the first amendment now states that, Congress shall make no
law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof... (Parsons 40). Did
the fore fathers intend the first amendment to keep religion out of government, or did they want to
create a law that stated religion was a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Other programs include childcare services, transportation services, job training and employment
services, counseling services, and much more (Bush, George. W.). President Bush feels that the Faith
based programs, those that are already having success in helping those in need individuals, will be
able to do even more if given aid by the federal government. These organizations are also thought to
have much more of a personal, local type of therapy that people will want to attend to get help. In a
quote by President Bush, he explains his goals for the faith based initiative: The indispensable and
transforming work of faith based and other charitable service groups must be encouraged.
Government cannot be replaced by charities, but it can and should welcome them as partners. We must
heed the growing consensus across America that successful government social programs work in
fruitful partnership with community serving and faith based organizations. President George W. Bush
(White House Community and Faith Based Initiative).
The most obvious form of government aid to the faith based programs is the use of direct grants of
public funds (Pfeffer 163). The money however is not just handed over to these faith based charitable
organizations. These faith based organizations must apply for the

Gatorade Research Paper
In the 2012 NFL season, NFL teams drank 1,800,144 bottles of Thirst Quencher. Gatorade had been in
football since the athletes were doing strenuous exercises, they continually battled dehydration in the
Florida heat (Wickford). Our bodies sweat system relies on salts to pump water onto our skin to
evaporate and cool us off (Wilcox). But is Gatorade as healthy as they make it out to be?
Gatorade says that their drink was born in a Lab (Jim F). In early summer of 1965, a University of
Florida assistant coach sat down with a team of university physicians and asked them to determine
why so many of his players were being affected by heat and heat related illnesses, (Gatorade). They
soon discovered two key factors that were causing Gator players to fall apart: the fluids and
electrolytes the players lost through sweat were not being replaced, and the large amounts of
carbohydrates the players bodies used for energy were not being replenished (Gatorade). The
researchers then took their findings into the lab, and made a new, precisely balanced carbohydrate
electrolyte beverage ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Sports drink is full of sugar, doing more harm than good. If someone drank Gatorade when they
are not doing anything to make them sweat, it is getting them fatter. Christie Wilcox explains this is
her article, Sports Drinks: More Harm Than Good?, If your goal is to lose weight, drinking calories is
like shooting yourself in the foot (Wilcox). If someone does not work out at a high intensity for a long
time, they do not need the extra calories. So sports drinks are not for the casual exerciser, while taking
a ten minute treadmill run or jog around the block. However, if someone is doing strenuous exercises
for a long period of time, sports drinks can be highly beneficial. In fact, the Houston Texans drank
88,224 bottles of Thirst Quencher throughout the 2012 NFL

  • 2. Legal Validity Of Natural Law Legal Validity in the View of Natural Law By: Micah A. Davis October 7, 2014 Abstract In this paper, I will propose that it is better to look at whether a law is legally valid or not through the perspective of natural law theory as opposed to positivist theory. My argument consists mostly of the language of improvement which can only exist based on the theory of natural law which states that law is something which has an objective truth behind it. Only when there is an objective mark to hit can there be hits and misses and I believe that positivism disregards the possibility of hits and misses entirely. So, my argument is that it makes more sense to consider legal validity of a law from the perspective of natural law rather than positive law because it includes not only the previously set up legal system when considering validity, but it also considers the general idea of some kind of morality as well. A sub argument is that the starting legal system must have had some basis by which to have been created and accepted which must be some form or notion of morality. Legal validity is how valid or forceful or authoritative a law is within a system ( Validity ). There are many different ways to interpret what it means when a law within a system changes. One way to view it is in a positivist perspective. That perspective claims that when a judge changes a law, he is simply stating it based on the words in the law and his interpretation of words, ... • 4. Effective Leadership Management Leadership Effectiveness What is leadership? A leader is one who influences others to attain goals. The greater the number of followers correlates to the greater the influence. Additionally, the more successful the attainment of worthy goals, the more evident is the leadership. However, one must explore beyond this bare definition to capture the excitement and intrigue that devoted followers and students of leadership feel when they see a great leader in action. Therefore, employees should seek to understand what organizational leaders really do and to learn what it really takes to become a truly outstanding leader. Theories Models Outstanding leaders combine good strategic substance and effective interpersonal processes to formulate and implement strategies that produce results and sustainable competitive advantage. Hence, it is a little overwhelming, especially when inundated with numerous theories about leadership such as, X Y theory, path goal theory, charismatic, traits theory, Vroom model, and contingency theory, etc... Additionally, numerous leadership styles exist in which a manager can employ, such as laissez faire, transformational, employee centered, tasks centered, close supervision, participative, democratic, or autocratic (Elliott 2011). Transactional Leadership The transactional leadership theory is one, which is most widespread and commonly used in most organizations (e.g. military). It is based on transactions or deals made between an employee and an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Diverse Cultures And Various Political Systems Fuel The... Diverse cultures and various political systems fuel the complicated relationship between states, making international cooperation a relevant topic of discussion. Political scientists use these discussions to come up with theories that can predict different levels of cooperation, the likelihood that collaboration might occur and what sorts of conditions are necessary to promote higher levels of cooperation between states. Neorealists and neoliberals have developed opposing theories on this topic. Neorealists focus on explaining the anarchic structure of the world to place emphasis on the permanence of conflict. They believe that states should primarily focus on securing survival and security through an economic and military build up. On the other hand, according to Essentials of International Relations, neoliberals view the world as anarchic and individual states as self interested, but draw different conclusions about state behavior than neorealists, predicting that they are more likely to cooperate due to the influence of institutions (Mingst and Arreguin Toft, 117). Neoliberals aim to bring about security and survival while promoting economic gains and believe that cooperation is achievable if states share common interests. In this paper I am going to explain in what ways neoliberalism is more likely promote cooperation in the international system, than neorealism. While neoliberals do not deny the anarchic nature of the international system, they do however believe its ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Representation of Children in the Media Essay The Representation of Children in the Media I am writing about how children are represented in the media, after a group investigation carried out to see how they are portrayed in different papers; local newspapers, tabloids and broadsheets. We were looking to see if newspapers showed positive or negative images of children and how they portrayed them in general. In local papers there are usually articles of local news from around the area, items for sale and advertisements. Local papers highlight local stories and issues. Local papers usually have the scores or information about local teams in the sport section. The local papers are distributed to a specific area and usually contain news about ... You also get a biography or diary about someone s life and how they lived, mostly successful people or important people who have died. Tabloids do tend to run sensational emotional stories. Broadsheets are similar to tabloids, but most of the broadsheets present a more balanced view of the news. They fund to be not as sensational and more factual and informative. Local papers have more pictures then any other kind of paper, they have more pictures of children, and the readers are able to see children of their own or children that they know of. In the most positive pictures you see children achieving or being brilliant. In some pictures you will see children as victims, but often they will have happy endings. They also show brave little angels that have helped their community and someone shown as accessories to local heroes or famous people e.g. David Beckham and his son s Brooklyn and Romeo. Tabloids often don t have many pictures of children, and it is unusual to see a child achieving something in a tabloid. The international stories are often extreme and very emotive. The children are either devils or angels. Tabloids are biased and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. American Imperialism In Japan Analysis Nationalism has socio politically, internationally, and economically impacted Japan between 1750 and 1980 to controversial benefits and disadvantages. Nationalism can be defined as the shared patriotism to the nation amongst the people and that the interests and needs of the nation state surpasses those of other countries. This can serve as a unifying force and, in this case, it had a major socio political impact and contributed to the development of a new national identity through establishing national icons. The international impact stemmed from the wars raged by Japan against other nation states to assert superiority and hold off potential invasions and conquests from strong Western powers. The Industrial Revolution and growing urbanisation in Japan had intended to and succeeded in mimicking Western growth. Moreover, the Japanese were well known for their diligence, discipline, perseverance, and hard work this resulted in substantial economic development including increased shipping of commodities and a significant expansion of trade and handicraft industries. However, the political elite pocketed most of the profits through influence and corruption. Workers and farmers found it unfair that their patriotic and back breaking labour only received a little wage in comparison, but with a state controlled media and education system, they couldn t make their voices heard. So overall, this collective and nationalistic open mindedness for communal prosperity was beneficial for Japan as a whole, but the common people were disadvantaged with no access to basic human rights and a fair ... • 8. Theories of Classical Management The classical approach were established and carried out in the early 1900centyry. Group of technician, manager and scientist came up with idea in order to reduce industrial dispute. They are Frederick Taylor the theory of scientific management, Max Weber theory of bureaucracy, and Henri Fayol theory of classical management. Most of them theories were based on the principal for a comprehensive theory of management. Now I am going to discuss about perspective view of each theories. Frederick Taylor came up with the principal theory of scientific management. His theory put emphasis on how an organisation can increase or gain their productivity through strong management control and supervision on worker and planning and maintain structure of organisation. He believe in so called Division of labour worker can do best and process can be run smoothly if worker assigned to a limited number of specific task. He argued best result will out come if the employee appointed for a specific task and monitor them closely. Taylor found out that lack of employee initiative in the work place was the major issue of inefficient work in the organisation. He believes that the organisation emphasis more on external job rather than focusing on internal process of the production line, giving less priority to the external process created negative impact on organisation such as waste of time, human effort and materials. It is recommended that system should be installed, maintained and operated to preserve their inherent levels of security which was originally specified, often asa result of serious mishaps to prevent the future mistakes which could lead to an infortune outcome. • 10. Analysis Of Disney Cartoons From Disney I watched all of THE BOOZE HANGS HIGH, RED HOT RIDING HOOD, MONKEY DOODLE, FAST AND FURRY OUS, and AN OPTICAL POEM. These animations were very different from the likes of Disney. I noticed that almost all of these animations were meant for adults definitely not children. I also realized that the animation styles were different from Disney. Pigs drinking booze, Red Riding Hood as a burlesque singer, lustful monkeys looking at naked female monkeys with proper human anatomy, Road Runner being blown to smithereens by Coyote. Just think about all the scenes I just described. Would you want your children being exposed to these things? I believe most commendable parents even nowadays would say HELL NO!! I was baffled and surprised at how cartoons of this time were not meant for kids. This seemed so backward to me, growing up watching LOONEY TOONS as a kids show. I think that cartoons started this way due to the people who were going out to the movies and watching these cartoons were adults. Adults don t want to watch cartoons that appeal to children when they are on a date or trying to get time away from their kids. In contrast, from Disney, the competition saw an untouched market. Disney quickly began to focus their cartoons toward children. The competition, on the other hand, marketed to a more mature audience. Making studios like Warner Brothers have a lucrative stake in the animation business. The hilarity of it is that these days THE LOONEY TOONS cartoons are kid friendly they won t even show the episode where Elmer Fud kills Bugs Bunny. The fact that the competitor s studios decided to aim for a more mature audience shows me two things. The first is the studios did not believe they could compete head to head with Disney. Lastly, it shows that the studios were not scared to create cartoons that were lewd. In essence, the competing studios handled their published animations in a business minded way. They decided not to compete head on with Disney but to offset themselves from Disney s audience and reach the audience that made and held the money. In PLANE CRAZY no background is the same. In MONKEY DOODLE and FAST AND FURRY OUS, we observe the same background scene used more than once in a scene that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 12. Example Of Justifying A Value 1.) The first example of justifying a value is when getting my car detailed. I am looking at market value, fair value and the utility factor for the services. This service satisfies the need and desire for a clean car to take clients out with, after it was dirtied by a tough winter. I compared prices for similar car detailing services, and asked around for referrals from several people. Of the two companies, one was recommended strongly. I saw examples of each work and agreed with the highly recommended company. In my opinion, the cost at the time was fair value and, compared to other detailers, was market value. The prices were advertised for a year without any price increase. The second example of justifying a value is when purchasing products from Starbucks Coffee. There is a slight influence upon me through the desire of my teenage daughter wanting to visit the coffee shop. With my effective purchasing power, and both our desire of a drink/coffee/treat once and a while, we will go to Starbucks. It is true that Starbucks is a Going Concern, and their prices are fair value compared to Timothies and Tim Hortons. I have joined their rewards program, which enables me to occasionally receive free or discounted drinks, as well as free refills. • 13. The Environmental And Societal Impact Of Waste Management... Introduction Emerging understanding of the environmental and societal impact of waste management has led to a significant development of municipally lead practices under the model of sustainable resource management (Cimpan, 2015). Recycling the recovery of the material value in waste provides opportunities for both economic and environmental sustainability by reducing fuels usage, carbon dioxide emissions, and the quantity of waste sent to landfills. The United States Environmental Protection Agency has identified that one year of recycled material translates to a reduction of 186 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions, and 40% of the material waste that annually ends up in US landfills are products that could have been recycled (Trudel). Decreasing landfill space and increasing urban waste generation require the implementation of both an effective and efficient recycling system, as recycling is a costly waste management strategy for municipalities (Lakhan, 2015). Single stream sorting and dual stream sorting programs are popular policy responses to municipal managing of recyclables. There are several context specific factors that impact the efficiency and effectiveness of both sorting systems that must be considered by municipalities when deciding which system to implement. Choosing to Recycle According to the waste hierarchy, source reduction and reuse are far more sustainable waste management practices than recycling, but it can be extremely difficult to implement ... • 15. Sympathy In The Phantom Of The Opera The first thing that comes to someone s mind when they think about a phantom or a ghost, usually does not involve a real human or the word sympathy. In the novel, The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux, this actually is the case. A deformed human, who lives deep under the opera and is stuck in a love triangle, causes problems for the people of the opera. The real definition of sympathy is: feelings of pity and sorrow for someone else s misfortune (123). Which does not apply to the Phantom because ultimately he is not a sympathetic character. He had a bad past and he doesn t care about others which leads him to kill and torture people for no apparent reason. The Opera Ghost isn t just unsympathetic while he lives in the Opera, but he was also unsympathetic as a child and younger adult. Back when he was in Mazenderan working for the Little Sultana, he murders many people: He had lived in India and acquired and incredible skill in the art of strangulation. He would make them lock him into a courtyard to which they brought a warrior usually, a man condemned to death armed with a long pike and a broad sword. Erik had only his lasso... Erik tightened the noose round his adversary s neck and, in this fashion, dragged him before the little sultana and her women, who sat looking from a window and applauding (Leroux 140). Yes, all the men that he kills have already been condemned to death, but he mercilessly kills them without knowing their story or feeling any sorrow or pity for the person he is about to kill. This shows that the Opera Ghost, Erik, is a very unsympathetic character in the novel. Children learn from their parents and as they get older they tend to do a lot of the same things, in the same way, that their parents do. ... My mother, daroga, my poor, unhappy mother would never ... let me kiss her ... she used to run away ... and throw me my mask! (167). His mother never felt sorry for him, and she never had any sympathy for him. Kino caused the tragedies his family experienced because he only cared about the pearl, had no control over himself, and didn t listen to others. My excitement was growing, first starting in my throat, then working its way to my stomach. The sound of the instruments filled the theater as the actors start to sing in loud clear voices. This was how my most memorable moment in my childhood started, at the Times Union Center Theater in the last week of February. My interest in theater started when I was a little girl. In particular, it was a movie that started this love. I can still remember the day my father brought home that movie, The Phantom of the Opera. It was the first musical I watched that was not Disney. After watching it, I felt overwhelmed with all the emotions expressed in the movie. Of course, being as young as I was then, I was unable to quite understand the meaning in the movie but that was not a problem. I was more interested in the singing and dancing that was shown throughout the movie. It was this musical that influenced me to pursue a career in theater and movies. Even though I loved the musical so much I never did see it live. My family could not afford to buy tickets and very rarely did the show come to my hometown. That is until I was 17 when they came to the Times Union Center in Jacksonville. My sister and I were thrilled, but instantly our excitement died when we remembered that we do not have the money for tickets. The both of us decided to start coming up with ways to earn money, such as extra chores and odd jobs around the neighborhood. Slowly but surely we began to earn money. By the end of December, we were still short a couple hundred bucks and seats were selling out quickly. It was Christmas Day when the most wonderful thing happened. My family was opening up presents and it was my turn to open mines. My father handed me this large present and inside was a slightly smaller present and inside that was an even smaller present which inside contained an envelope. Inside of that envelope was a Christmas card with the inside saying Soak up this moment! Clipped to the side of the card was three tickets to The Phantom of the Opera. A Study Of Personality Between Samsung, Samsung And Motorola Against: ========= The inner characteristics, unique to individuals define their personality it reflects the individual differences. Some individuals are very social, some are timid, some adventurous and some methodical. While one s personality is often interpreted by those we interact with, the person has their own vision of their personality this influences their buying behaviour. Thus, a study of personality is very important for marketers, as it can help them differentiate and segment consumers into separate groups on the basis of their personality traits. Consumers associate they choices with their personality, physical activities, associations with others and their interests. Thus their buying behaviour is mapped to their choices with their psycographic measures (how they live, work and play). Personality of the buyer defines the items that are more likely to be valued. While the problems may appear consummated, the people of today know that is not totally the case. With the amount of cultural presence continuously growing, the ubiquity of foreign language should be taken more seriously. One reason to learn them [foreign languages] is because they are tickets to being able to participate in the culture of the people who speak them, just by virtue of the fact that it is their code, begins McWhorter of TED (McWhorter, 2016). Consequently, schools should offer foreign language classes sooner in a child s life than freshman year of high school because this type of learning introduces them to cultural differences, increases their learning abilities and helps them understand learning styles of varying levels. Throughout the years, U.S. citizens have viewed the United States as the dominant country. However, while a large amount of the people in the United States speak American English, the government cannot calibrate the official language of the United States today (Constitution, 2017). FedEx Corporation provides customers and businesses worldwide with a broad portfolio of transportation, e commerce, and business services. FedEx was founded in 1971. Headquarters is currently located in Memphis, Tennessee. There are currently more than 340,000 employees working throughout FedEx Corporation. FedEx Corporation is the parent company of operation divisions, currently known as FedEx Express, FedEx Ground, FedEx Office, FedEx Freight, and FedEx Services. Even though all of the listed companies are managed cooperatively under the FedEx brand name, they operate independently from one another. Company Overview History In 1965, Yale University undergraduate Fredrick W. Smith wrote a term paper that laid out the logistical challenges facing pioneering firms in the information technology industry. Smith explained in his term paper how companies using airfreight shippers relied on passenger route systems, but those didn t make since. He proposed a system specifically designed to accommodate time sensitive shipments. His teacher didn t find anything special about his term paper, so he received just an average grade. In August 1971, Smith bought controlling interest in Arkansas Aviation Sales located in Little Rock, Arkansas. While operating his new firm, he saw firsthand how difficult it was to get packages and other airfreight delivered within one or two days. It was then when he set out to find a better way; which was when Federal Express was born. Smith named the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Essay on Censorship and Freedom of Speech Censorship may be protection from inappropriate materials, but it also limits free speech. For the limitation of free speech, it is reasonable why people are emphatically against censorship. It is understood that there is a need to filter some of the materials released in today s society, but too much is being done by people who have no right meddling with everyone s rights. Civilization has always been plagued by a never ending battle being fought over what is deemed right and wrong. In today s culture, censorship oppresses everything in the media. From movies and music to television and even news stories, most of the content viewed today has been filtered one way or another. Restrictions have been in place since early societies have been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Today, censorship is in place in more ways than you can imagine. As mentioned previously, movies, music, television, and more are filtered one way or another. Some people go to such lengths as illegal means of spreading materials deemed inappropriate for a certain viewing audience. When the United States was established, the first amendment guaranteed the rights to free speech and free press. However, it has never been interpreted to mean that all forms of expression are legal (Zorea). The common misconception is that people believe that all forms of expression are legal, but that has never been the case, and probably never will be. Intellectual freedom is important because it allows people to express their ideas or beliefs however they feel is appropriate (Intellectual Freedom Manual). With censorship, that freedom is stifled and breaches the right everyone has for that intellectual freedom. Also affecting that freedom is the influence that outside sources can have on your own thoughts and actions. People tend to rely more on television and other electronic media to give them false ideas or impressions. Currently, censorship in music is possibly the most relevant form of censorship. One of the more disturbing signs of censorship in music is a condition nearly snuck into the USA PATRIOT Act that would allow the government to hack private citizens computers to delete what they consider to be illegal MP3 song files (Blecha 179). ... • 42. Persuasive Speech On Animal Testing As a huge animal lover, I was disgusted to hear about Ebbie s story. Ebbie was a beagle rescued from an animal testing lab in Spain. When he was rescued by an organization called Beagle Freedom Project, he was deathly ill, emaciated and had tumors all over his frail body. Before being rescued, he had spent his entire life in solitary confinement where humans tested many deadly chemicals on him. When he first moved into his new home after being rescued, he just spent his days lying on the floor and was unwilling to interact with humans in anyway. It s truly incredible that after months of love and compassion from people that fostered him, he learned about love and trust towards humans after being so dramatically traumatized from the abuse he received in a lab. I stand here today to present you with the issue that needs to be addressed immediately: the abuse of millions of innocent and defenseless animals through animal experimentation. Millions of animals are in agonizing pain while being kept in tiny cages of labs while scientists inject dangerous substances in them and perform risky surgeries on them. Such immorality of scientists is allowed because there are no laws that prohibit this torture and protect the quality of life of these innocent animals. The root of animal testing started thousands of years ago when scientists studied animals. During the early twentieth century, more people became curious about biology and body systems; therefore, studied on animals. As ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 44. Jane Erye vs. Charlotte Bronte Essay Charlotte Bronte, born in 1816 at Thornton, Yorkshire, England, is an English writer who is one of three sisters, who are also famous for their writings. Bronte wrote Jane Eyre based on her own life experiences, which is why the novel is subtitled An Autobiography . Much of the romantic appeal in Jane Eyre comes from Bronte s own personal history. Many critics argue that the novel is simply a reflection of Bronte s life. Furthermore, there are several ways in which, Bronte s life is similar to the life of Jane and the events that take place in the novel. Charlotte is described as simple, plain, and petite and the daughter of a clergyman just like Jane. Whenever, Charlotte wanted to get away from her daily life, she would absorb herself ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Like Jane, Charlotte s first job was being a governess. She was a governess for the Sidgwick family, until her shyness ruined up her attempts to earn a living this way. Later in 1842 as Charlotte began to travel, she fell in love with M. Heger, who was married, just like Rochester who is also married to Bertha. M. Heger was also the owner of the Pensionnat Heger, which is the school that Charlotte attended and she later became a teacher there. In 1844, she tried to open her own school, but failed, just as Jane failed when she tried to open her own school while staying with the Rivers. Lastly, after all the suffering she caused Charlotte, Ms. Branwell died in 1848 and Mrs. Reed also dies. Charlotte finally got married after being proposed to four times and had a child, but she died in 1855 during her pregnancy. At the end of the novel, Jane also got married to Rochester, after he had previously asked for her hand in marriage and John Rivers also asked for her hand and she had a son, but does not die. Conclusively, Jane Eyre can be said to be an autobiography written by Charlotte Bronte, because many of the significant events that occurred in Charlotte s life were also happening to Jane in the novel. Jane Eyre is a detailed reflection of Charlotte s life, from her childhood to adulthood. BIBLIOGRAPHY Bronte, Charlotte. Jane Eyre. Dutton, NY: Everyman s Library, 1908 Gaskell, ... Bush s Faith Based Initiative and the Separation of Church and State Clause Nowhere in the U.S constitution or any other official documents does it say that there must be strict separation of church and state . This clause was used by Jefferson in his letter to the Danbury Baptist Association of Connecticut on January 1, 1802 (Truthwalk 1). These organizations are also thought to have much more of a personal, local type of therapy that people will want to attend to get help. In a quote by President Bush, he explains his goals for the faith based initiative: The indispensable and transforming work of faith based and other charitable service groups must be encouraged. Government cannot be replaced by charities, but it can and should welcome them as partners. We must heed the growing consensus across America that successful government social programs work in fruitful partnership with community serving and faith based organizations. President George W. Bush (White House Community and Faith Based Initiative). The most obvious form of government aid to the faith based programs is the use of direct grants of public funds (Pfeffer 163). • 46. Gatorade Research Paper In the 2012 NFL season, NFL teams drank 1,800,144 bottles of Thirst Quencher. Gatorade had been in football since the athletes were doing strenuous exercises, they continually battled dehydration in the Florida heat (Wickford). Our bodies sweat system relies on salts to pump water onto our skin to evaporate and cool us off (Wilcox). But is Gatorade as healthy as they make it out to be? Gatorade says that their drink was born in a Lab (Jim F). In early summer of 1965, a University of Florida assistant coach sat down with a team of university physicians and asked them to determine why so many of his players were being affected by heat and heat related illnesses, (Gatorade). They soon discovered two key factors that were causing Gator players to fall apart: the fluids and electrolytes the players lost through sweat were not being replaced, and the large amounts of carbohydrates the players bodies used for energy were not being replenished (Gatorade). The researchers then took their findings into the lab, and made a new, precisely balanced carbohydrate electrolyte beverage ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
