life. Although suicides feature in both Stephen Daldry s film and Virginia Woolf s

Joseph Heller in his novel than is average for other modern pieces of American and

ill and comes close to death, but is miraculously saved by their mother. Then days
later they watch their mother die by the same disease his sister had. This only
marks the beginning of his misery. He then goes to college and creates a horrible
monster which goes and kills his brother, Justine :a loved family servant:, his
