Analysis Of The Education Of Cyrus
Rohan Baishya
HUEN 1010 Dr. Brooks
Short Paper #2
Due 03/20/17
In The Education of Cyrus, Xenophon addresses a critical query immediately in questioning how
one can rule over human beings without opposition or revolt. Xenophon initially reasons that no
regime can effectively do that, but after seeing the education and life of Cyrus, he argues that
ruling all others without revolution is not only plausible, but not even difficult if done with
knowledge. Through his education and virtues, Cyrus acquired the knowledge to not only be a
successful king, but rule over the entire known world, effectively proving to Xenophon that it is
possible to rule over all human beings successfully. Cyrus was more than a king, but rather the
founder of an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He chooses mercy over destruction so that as he conquers more and more land, human beings
choose to love him and join him, while being grateful to him for sparing them and giving them the
opportunity to do so. Not only that, but Cyrus keeps his followers and allies happy, showering them
in luxuries and rewarding them for showing virtue for his cause, making his cause their cause as
well. This system where people are rewarded for their virtues motivates the people he rules to
stand by him and becomes the basis for what Cyrus calls justice in his empire. Despite these
virtuous courses of actions Cyrus learned to take, Xenophon points out that successful military
strategy and diplomacy cannot be procured unless one has virtues such as discipline, drive,
compliance, prudence, generosity, and valor that Cyrus displays and acquires through his life and
education. Xenophon emphasizes that as necessary as superior battle strategies, competent and
willing allies, appealing laws, and diplomacy are, they do not amount to anything without a virtuous
leader educated in leading in such a manner as Cyrus was.
Cyrus, rather than marching onwards and leaving a path of destruction in his wake as many empire
builders of his time did, instead won the favors of the people he defeated, keeping their homes and
cultures intact yet also not only giving them the opportunity to join him, but having them want to
be ruled by him. Cyrus was an attractive leader who through his life,

The Management Of The Hospitality Field
As future managers in the hospitality field we must be aware of what all we are responsible for
when it comes to our guests. Lawsuits are becoming ever so common, and we must know what
we are liable for so that we may prevent situations before they arise. Knowing the local laws is
crucial to running an efficient business and keeping yourself and your employees up to date on
these laws will save you in the long run. The proper training should be given to both managers and
staff about procedures and precautions that need to be taken in various situations. Taking the time
with this and keeping record of training can prevent multi million dollar lawsuits or other
unnecessary court appearances. I took HA315W this past fall with Dr. Hill,... Show more content on

cheer and softball team, she was cheer captain, and was also the senior class president! She
received a scholarship to attend a small college in Oklahoma playing softball, but after one
season she returned back to Arizona and began attending Northern Arizona University in the Fall
of 2003. While attending NAU, she made the cheer team and continued to pursue what she loved.
She continued her HRM studies until her graduation in the Fall of 2005, and accepted a career
opportunity from Hyatt immediately following her graduation. She took the job not knowing
where they would place her, but she would be notified that her new home would be Denver,
Colorado and that is where the story begins. (Fragile) Jillian was out celebrating her acceptance to
the Colorado Rapids cheer team with some of her friends. Knowing ahead of time that there would
be drinking involved, she had booked a hotel room at the Westin for the group to stay the night
safely. Her sister was currently working for Starwood hotels, and got Jillian a discount on the room.
After the bars had closed on that Saturday night March 3rd, 2007 things in Jillian s life changed
forever. They went back to the hotel after the bars had closed, and had intentions of staying there
the rest of the night. The hotel security guards on duty that night were Nathan Robinson and John

Market Equilibration Process Paper
Market Equilibration Process Paper Market equilibrium is the point in which industry offers goods
at the price consumers will consume without creating a shortage or a surplus of goods. Shortages
drive up the cost of goods while surpluses drive the cost of goods down, finding the balance in the
process is market equilibrium. The concept is derived from combining equilibrium price and
equilibrium quantity to yield the equilibrium of a specific market. Changes in the determinants of
demand, such as how much the product sells and the price of the product can affect the equilibrium
of a market. Changes in determinates of supply can also affect a specific market. Supply

This has resulted in an increase in the average price of a gasoline from about $2.80 in April of
2010 to about $3.50 as of today (Feb., 19 2012). Even though gasoline is considered an inelastic
product due to its necessity factor, with time consumer will have to reduce their demand if the
price continues to increase. An industry that tends to feel the quick effects of increase in the
price of gasoline is the delivery industry. At my organization, any increase in the price of gas is
of great concern to the management and the drivers. The organization in conjunction with the
drivers is always looking for an equilibrium point at which the organization is still able to make
profit while making sure that the driver s needs are also met. In trying to reach the equilibrium
were the organization is profitable and driver s income demands are met, we employ some
measures. The first measure is b what we call localization. By localizing a driver, we try as much
as possible to keep a driver within a certain radius so as to reduce the amount of gasoline they
utilize daily. To further mitigate the effects of gasoline price increase on the income of the
drivers, we also sometimes provide them with gas rebates vouchers. This keeps the drivers
motivated since the shock of the price increase in gasoline has been absorbed by the organization.
The organization will absorb some of the cost of the price increase but some will eventually be
passed on to the customers as

Amazing Grace
Through the Parable of the Return of the Prodigal Son we see that the father in the story is God
and we are the son longing for forgiveness. You can compare Amazing Grace to the parable of
The Prodigal Son by comparing the verses to the son being found and seeing the grace of God.
The story of the Prodigal Son and the song Amazing Grace are both about recieving the grace of
God and asking for forgiveness. Grace is the free and unmerited gift of God s love, forgiveness,
mercy, and healing to any and all who turn to Him in faith in the name of Jesus. This concept of
grace is demonstrated in Jesus parable of The Lost Son and Newton s hymn, Amazing Grace .
God gives us endless mercy and forgiveness each and everyday. In the Parable of the Return of the

The Effect Of Heat Transmission On The Heat
Introduction:
Heat transmission is the process through which heat is transferred in swap of thermal energy that
exists between the physical systems, depending on the pressure and temperature by dissipating heat.
The essential modes of transferring the heat are convection, conduction or diffusion and radiation.
Heat is transferred from region of high temperature to low temperature region.
1.0 Heat transfer
The various modes of heat transfer are as follows:
1.1 Conduction: Conduction mode of heat transfer is the process in which transfer of energy is taken
place between the objects that are having the physical existence. In this process heat is spreads
through a matter when faster molecules and atoms run over with the slower neighboring atoms and
molecules. Faster atoms and molecule can transfer their little energy known as kinetic energy to the
slower ones. Conduction is also known as diffusion.
1.2 Convection Convection is also a fundamental mode of transferring the heat. In this process heat
is transferred from one place to another through the movement of fluids. Fluids are those substance
which are not having any fixed shape. These substances include liquid and gas state of matter.
(edinformatics.com, 2015)
1.3 Radiation In the previous forms of heat transfer modes heat is transferred from one place to
another or from one substance to another. But in radiation electromagnetic waves are involved in
the transfer of heats. In this process no particular substance or

Sex And Gender Are Not Equal
Sex and gender are not equal contrary to common assumption. Sex, as defined by Rosman, is the
physical differences between male and female [based on] biological and anatomical composition of
genitals and secondary sexual characteristics (141). On the other hand, gender is defined as the
culture specific set of behavioral, ideological, and social meanings constructed around the
understandings of these biological and anatomical differences (142). So what does this mean?
Indeed, the assumption of sexequating to genderis not necessarily true because gender is culturally
constructed. Different societies often have different perceptions of what gender is: for instance
North American heteronormative culture in comparison with the gender relationships of people in
Wogeo (minimal differences between men and women) or of the people in Samoa specifically
focusing on the fa afafine.
The film, Paradise Bent, directed by Heather Croall explores part of the world of fa afafines. The fa
afafine of Samoa are their own gender defying the gender binaries of strictly male or female. The
word itself means in the manner of a woman and according to the film, fa afafines are men
playing women s roles yet they are largely accepted by their communities. Mothers of fa afafines
value and love their fa afafine son and appreciate their help around the house. Chief Leutele voices

The Assumptions Of Ability Grouping, Student Tracking And...
Abstract
This paper will dive into four common unwarranted assumptions made from ability grouping
(student tracking) and attempt to debunk the ideas. Ability grouping is the common educational
practice of separating students based on actual or purported ability in the same grade into different
instructional groups with differing levels of aptitude or achievement (Ainsworth 2013). The four
assumptions that will follow were researched by the former presidential professor in equity in the
graduate school of education and information studies at UCLA, Jeannie Oakes. Ability grouping or
student tracking is in fact illegal in the state of California but, institutions still find alternative ways
to implement the method.
Keywords: Ability Grouping, Students Tracking
Debunking the False Assumptions of Ability Grouping The four ability grouping assumptions are
as follow: (1) Students learn better when they are grouped with other students who have similar
academic skills or prior levels of achievement, (2) slower students develop more positive attitudes
about themselves and their education when they are not in daily classroom contact with those who
are brighter, (3) track placements are part of a meritocratic system with assignments earned by
students and accorded through fair and accurate means, and (4) teaching is easier when students are
grouped homogeneously, and teaching is better when there are no slower students to lower the
common denominator in the classroom

1.Provide the definitions of critical path and critical chain. How do they differ?
Critical path and critical chain are both schedule network analysis techniques.
Critical path is the one that determines the shortest time to complete a project, which assumes low
uncertainty and does not consider resource dependencies.
Critical chain is a modified or refined technique about critical path; it involves the deterministic and
probabilistic approaches to analyze the project schedule, which is more realistic and practical than
critical path.
Differences between critical path and critical chain:
пЃ¬Critical path is based on deterministic task duration, while critical chain involves the
deterministic and probabilistic approaches; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This buffers help reduce the risk of non critical tasks. They are located at the end of each non

3.Describe common practices to estimate the duration of project activities as well as real reasons
that cause project delays.
Common practices to estimate the duration of project activities:
пЃ¬Down to Top: When asked about the time it takes to complete a task or activity in a whole
project, each owner of the activity tends to add his safety time to the reported number; therefore,
the project manager collects all the numbers from each owner and then adds his safety time to the
overall duration of the project, say, the total time to complete the project. The finalized total time is
more exaggerated.
пЃ¬Top to Down: When given the total time by project manager, higher level managers tend to
squeeze the time to reduce the time and cost. Therefore, lower level manager has to give up the
initial schedule to satisfy higher level managers. The finalized time depends on the complexity of
the organization: the more layers, the less time to complete a project.
Real reasons that causes project delays:
пЃ¬Resource constraint: If a resource is shared by many projects or activities, it would be used in
order of priority, thus leading to delay of activity or project with lower priority.
пЃ¬Dependency: If two activities are serial relationship, which means one relies on the completion

most interesting aspects of these sculptures was the role they played in worship and marital rituals.

Dury Family History
Drury is English. This family descended from John De Drury, the son of a Norman French
nobleman, who fought his way to power in England along with William the conqueror in 1066.
The Drury s held large estates in Suffolk, England for centuries. Their coat of arms from the 1200 s
has a Tau cross between two gold stars on a green band across the top of a silver shield. The family
in later years moved over to the United States to get a better life and like people would say

environments, the remaining 40 % is up to us. Psychologists have researched that when you are
happy, certain hormones are release. The feelings we experience are nothing more than chemical
reactions taking place in our body. So do you think money can be used to make this reaction
happen? Can money really buy happiness? This world is full of wealthy people, such as the royal

happiness that lingers for long time. In conclusion, happiness can happen in thousands of ways. It

America Needs the Affordable Care Act
According to Newsweek, the University Medical Center on average has about $100,000 dollars a
month in unpaid doctor s visits and operations and special procedures; this burden gets passed on
to the County taxpayer (Johnson). Unpaid bills occur due to people taken to the hospital and either
do not have, or have very poor health insurance. The current process is not fair to anyone, whether
one has no health insuranceor one who has paid for it. Under the Patient Protection and Affordable
Care Act, otherwise referred to as Obamacare, signed into law on March 23, 2010, this requires all
Americans to purchase health insurance. The purchase of this care is purchased either individually
or through the government market place. The act will lower... Show more content on

Romneycare requires everyone to get health insurance through the state market place. Both this
law, and the Affordable Care Act require businesses to cover all full time employees. Also, both
laws make dropping an individual due of preexisting conditions illegal. Since 2006 almost 90%
of Massachusites are insured, and since 2006 Massachusetts has had surpluses in its budget
(Kolesnikova). With this extra money, public service projects were preformed such as restoring
the I93 tunnel and the Leonard P. Zakim Bunker Hill Memorial Bridge. On a personal level, the
law helps individuals and families who are struggling with money. Mary Flynn who has asthma
normally paid $60 a month for her inhaler, after her insurance dropped her because of the asthma,
she went to apply for RomneyCare. I felt like they threw me a lifeline, she said, adding that her
inhaler now costs her just $3.50 a month. It s the best insurance I ve ever had (Kolesnikova).
This state law, if properly administered on a federal level, would have similar positive affects
nationally. Despite all the benefits The Affordable Care Act gives to people, some people
believe this law is socialism, and unlawfully forces people to buy health insurance. In 1935 FDR
passed Social Security; his critics called this creeping socialism . If Social Security were true
socialism, no one would pay into it, and retirees would just collect taxpayers money. The same

Women as Instigators of Tragedy in the Works of William...
Women as Instigators of Tragedy in the Works of Shakespeare
It is the very error of the moon;
She comes more nearer earth than she was wont,
And makes men mad. (Othello 5.2.112 14)
The moon is often seen in literature as an allegory for love, virtue, and chastity. In Shakespeare s
comedies, especially, the moon is personified as Diana, the Roman goddess of chastity. In these
comedies, the foolish antics of lovers (literally, lunatics ) usually occur under the auspices of the
chaste goddess, the lovers behaving like hounds about her feet that snap at each other in competition
for her bounty. The moon as allegory for the lunacy of romance helps us understand Shakespeare s
view of romance. In the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The finest example can be found in Othello. Iago convinces Othello that Othello is being cuckolded
by his wife, after which Othello questions him, referring to his wife as the moon:
Why, why is this?
Think st thou I ld make a lie of jealousy,
To follow still the changes of the moon
With fresh suspicions? No; to be once in doubt
Is once to be resolved . . . (3.3.190)
The moon/Desdemona is seen as at once chaste and inclined to change. Later, Othello accuses
Desdemona of infidelity despite her protesting innocence. Again, he compares her infidelity with
the moon: What committed!/ Heaven stops the nose at it and the moon winks . . . (4.2.74). The
moon, once chaste, is now flirting. Similarly, Othello believes that Desdemona, once chaste, is
cuckolding him. These two examples show the multiple allegories of the moon that, similarly, exist
in women.
The moon also symbolizes the changeability of Fortune. What does the Fortune have to do with the
moon? Shakespeare considered both of them to be much the same. Both have a cyclical nature
(hence the term, Wheel of Fortune ): the moon waxes and wanes just like Fortune waxes and
wanes. John Hankins noted that the traditional Latin scholarship that Shakespeare may have
studied (such as Macrobius who studied the relationship of the celestial bodies to mortals on earth)

A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L engle is a Science Fiction novel with 232 pages. According to

wonder of the book. To be so scared and then to have the feeling that love gives to us all. I think

protagonist in A Wrinkle in Time is a girl named Margaret Murry. Meg is 12 years old, and very

that the theme is that love is powerful. The main concept of the book starts out when Meg, her

someone knocks on the door. They let her in and find out that her name is Mrs. Whatsit. Before she

Crescendos In The Firebird Suite
In both pieces of music, The Firebird Suite, by Igor Stravinsky (1882 1971) and C Jam Blues, by
Duke Ellington, there are traces of dynamics and timbre, also known as tone color, throughout.
Dynamics is defined as degrees of loudness or softness in music, and timbre is defined as quality
of sound that distinguishes one instrument or voice from another. Both pieces have repeated
melodies, but The Firebird Suite shows the use of more crescendos and decrescendo, while C Jam
Blues uses improvisation, which is musiccreated at the same time it is performed. Each piece has
things in common, and at the same time are two completely different compositions of music.

attempt to replace their weaknesses. As these characters get a glimpse of their dreams, they begin

they are nothing but skewed fantasies that end up replacing true beauty. It is one character, Ricky

The California plant appears to have a possible upgrade from what was most likely a similar
structure to the New Jersey Plant to a Nortex Digital Phone System with VoIP. This system allows
the California Plant to leverage the existing network used to communicate data across the Ethernet
(and ultimately across the Internet) to additionally manage voice communications. The VoIP could
additionally (although not documented as such) utilize a Public Switch TelephoneNetwork (PSTN)
gateway to send digital signals (voice) allowing the company to make local calls outside of the
LATA where the plants reside.
CPhysical Extent of Systems
The Ohio and Missouri (offices and plants) networks utilize a ring topology as the foundation.
Both Offices have an Avaya Digital Phone System to manage voice communication within the
office (interoffice) and local/long distance calling through a PSTN connection. Data and video are
managed separately through the ring and for outside the firewall communication through a T1
connection. The digital Avaya systems at both offices provides the ability to dial between offices
as if you where intraLATA (ie. 3, 4, 5 digit interoffice calling). The plants for these respective
locations tell a different story. While a token ring is still the basis for the network the

Why am I not scared in the morning? I don t hear those voices calling (Joseph, Ode to Sleep).
This suggests that the light sounding music and the dark sounding music are in fact symbols for
day and night, which are also symbols for sanity and insanity. When Joseph is awake in the
morning, he doesn t have dark thoughts and is sane, but at night, Joseph is insane and hears
demonic voices. In addition, the voices are icons that represent evil and darkness. Later in the
first lighter part, Joseph sings Why wont you let me go, Do I threaten all your plans, I m
insignificant. You have no plans for me, I will set my soul on fire, what have I become, I m

In his arguments, the author uses his own point of view, information from other people s
research, and from historical voyages without offering any proper references. Additionally, the
author uses non academic language to inspire literary imagery in order to make the article more
attractive to potential readers. This article does make for an interesting read, but it is far from
accurate. In my opinion, the author has cherry picked the evidence in order to create a scenario
where the blame for the demise of the ecosystem was places squarely on the native s shoulders
which discounts any natural factors that could have happened. The Rapa Nui were a complex
society of people who utilized the land in innovative ways. Indeed something catastrophic did
take place, and I do not know exactly what that was, but I do not believe it was solely greed and
consumption that caused the downfall of an entire society as the author would have you believe.

The Mesopotamian Civilization
For 7000 years the sweltering sand of the Iraqi desert has held remnants of one the earliest known
civilization, the Mesopotamians. Since then, literary historians and scholars have uncovered myths
revealing an unforeseen buried past. These hallowed accounts have become the center focus of
explaining the early history of the Mesopotamian civilization, and the natural phenomenon s that
have existed. In particular, the Babylonian epic of creation, Enuma Elish, which served the purpose
of explaining the genesis of the universeand how people first came to inhabit it, reveals a
parallelism with the Greek s Theogony. The conquest of Mesopotamiaby the Greeks in the year 331
126 BC can be theorized as one of the potentiality for the Mesopotamian influence on the Greek s
Theogony. The influence of the Mesopotamian tradition is seen in the Greek s account of the
creation myth through parallel concepts. Although Enuma Elish and Theogony have a unique
account of how the world began, and how people first came to inhabit it, they are both analogous in
the sense that these creation myths are based on the foundation of: a successive motif whereby the
newer gods overthrow the older, the rise of an ambitious hero, and an imperfect creation.
In Theogony, and analogous to Enuma Elish, there exists a sequential motif whereby the newer
gods overthrow the older.

Analysis Of The Film The Prince Of Egypt
The Film, The Prince of Egypt is a not a very accurate copy when compared to the story of
exodus from the Bible. The 1998 Dreamworks production The Prince of Egypt was created to
follow the remarkable story of Moses, Leading his people from slavery but was changed by the
directors to give it some originality. The setting, the characters and the storylines are some of the
things that have been changed in the animated story. Therefore the Dreamworks Pictures film is
inaccurate and does not flow along the same page as the Biblical story of Exodus.
Firstly, when compared, The settings In the Dreamworks production differ from the ones in the
Biblical account. The directors have made this change to add some excitement to some of the
settings. The way how the Nile has been portrayed in the movie, Vary from the Bible because the
Bible tells us that Moses had been placed in a basket among some reeds, But in the movie, Moses
gets placed in the basket and the Nile takes him away. He just misses all kinds of dangers, From
hippos and crocodiles to the Egyptian fishing nets. The reason the director did this massive
change was to make the scene more exciting and to capture the audience. The Burning bush s
description is different in the Bible than how it is portrayed in the movie. In the Bible, the
burning bush is on top of a mountain called Horeb but In the movie it is in a cave where God
calls to him. The director did this because he wanted to make the scene more scary and

What Sets The Successful Companies Apart From The...
PEWAUKEE SCHOOL DISTRICT (PSD). Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Recipient
2013 (Education Category) 1. What sets the successful companies apart from the unsuccessful
companies? Answer: Three main characteristics of the winner have succeeded as a successful
company they are: i. They mainly concentrate on value rather putting their thoughts on long term
goals, that means they always concentrate in reduction of the costs in a strategic context and with a
reasonable spotlight on their core. ii. They misuse opportunities one of a kind to the downturn,
which can mean anything from utilizing misfortune to increase new clients to squeezing forward
with advancement. iii. They act quickly, with a spryness that allows them to keep pace with, or
development of, speedy changes in the business environment. Successful companies always put
their eye on the growth of the organization and they will try to keep the customers as they don t
need to lose their valuable customers. So they will move on from their comfort zones and thrive
hard towards their growth in the competitive world. They always show their commitment towards
the innovation that helps in being a part of the successful company. (Berman, 2009). 2. Are the
successful companies more agile in the marketplace? Answer: Yes, successful companies are agile
in the markets because being agile is to making themselves adaptable, managing, and trying to keep

s overall mission as Ed had to dig through truths about himself. Before the suit of spades Ed s
thought of himself was that he was worth nothing, evident through the narration of Ed s
monologue. The suit of spades saw Ed wanting more for his life, evident through the
characterisation of Ed, the changes in his monologue. The start of the novel Ed s narration and
dialogue of himself showed that Ed believed he did not deserve happiness, to be better, to love that
he would amount to nothing. The very first introduction of what how Ed saw himself was when he

That if he wanted to be better, happy and loved he first would have to see himself in a happy,
loved and better light. Each mission saw Ed bring something to someone else but spades was
the final trial I need to dig myself out of (282). Therefore spades was symbolic as it saw Ed
change his opinion on himself, recognising that he had to do something, if he wanted to be more
than nothing. I d rather chase the sun than wait for it (306), and If I ever leave this place... I ll
make sure I m better here first (307). Both these quotes show how Ed s mind frame has shifted
from accepting that he was nobody to wanting to be something. The use of the pronoun I
emphasises the fact that Ed accepts that he has to do it himself. It shows how Ed realises that he
is the only that can do it, that he cannot rely on anyone else. This want for changing himself
meant Ed s view on himself was not to scrutinise but rather realise. Realisation in that driving a
cab and renting a fibro shack can t be the final answer of my life. (331). This want to change and
realisation that he could do, sets up Ed to physically do something about it. The aim of the Ace
of Spades, was to lay the foundation of realisation that if Ed wanted to change he would have to
do it himself. That in order to become somebody to others, he would have to become somebody to
himself. Other people only started to recognise how Ed s change, after the ace of spades, Now you

City to form the first intercollegiate football rules for the now popular game. These four teams
established the Intercollegiate Football Association (IFA) and set 15 as the number of players
allowed on each team. Walter Camp, the coach at Yale who helped from the IFA over his desire for

  • 2. Analysis Of The Education Of Cyrus Rohan Baishya HUEN 1010 Dr. Brooks Short Paper #2 Due 03/20/17 In The Education of Cyrus, Xenophon addresses a critical query immediately in questioning how one can rule over human beings without opposition or revolt. Xenophon initially reasons that no regime can effectively do that, but after seeing the education and life of Cyrus, he argues that ruling all others without revolution is not only plausible, but not even difficult if done with knowledge. Through his education and virtues, Cyrus acquired the knowledge to not only be a successful king, but rule over the entire known world, effectively proving to Xenophon that it is possible to rule over all human beings successfully. Cyrus was more than a king, but rather the founder of an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He chooses mercy over destruction so that as he conquers more and more land, human beings choose to love him and join him, while being grateful to him for sparing them and giving them the opportunity to do so. Not only that, but Cyrus keeps his followers and allies happy, showering them in luxuries and rewarding them for showing virtue for his cause, making his cause their cause as well. This system where people are rewarded for their virtues motivates the people he rules to stand by him and becomes the basis for what Cyrus calls justice in his empire. Despite these virtuous courses of actions Cyrus learned to take, Xenophon points out that successful military strategy and diplomacy cannot be procured unless one has virtues such as discipline, drive, compliance, prudence, generosity, and valor that Cyrus displays and acquires through his life and education. Xenophon emphasizes that as necessary as superior battle strategies, competent and willing allies, appealing laws, and diplomacy are, they do not amount to anything without a virtuous leader educated in leading in such a manner as Cyrus was. Cyrus, rather than marching onwards and leaving a path of destruction in his wake as many empire builders of his time did, instead won the favors of the people he defeated, keeping their homes and cultures intact yet also not only giving them the opportunity to join him, but having them want to be ruled by him. Cyrus was an attractive leader who through his life, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The organization in conjunction with the drivers is always looking for an equilibrium point at which the organization is still able to make profit while making sure that the driver s needs are also met. In trying to reach the equilibrium were the organization is profitable and driver s income demands are met, we employ some measures. The first measure is b what we call localization. By localizing a driver, we try as much as possible to keep a driver within a certain radius so as to reduce the amount of gasoline they utilize daily. To further mitigate the effects of gasoline price increase on the income of the drivers, we also sometimes provide them with gas rebates vouchers. This keeps the drivers motivated since the shock of the price increase in gasoline has been absorbed by the organization. You can compare Amazing Grace to the parable of The Prodigal Son by comparing the verses to the son being found and seeing the grace of God. The story of the Prodigal Son and the song Amazing Grace are both about recieving the grace of God and asking for forgiveness. Grace is the free and unmerited gift of God s love, forgiveness, mercy, and healing to any and all who turn to Him in faith in the name of Jesus. This concept of grace is demonstrated in Jesus parable of The Lost Son and Newton s hymn, Amazing Grace . God gives us endless mercy and forgiveness each and everyday. • 10. The Effect Of Heat Transmission On The Heat Introduction: Heat transmission is the process through which heat is transferred in swap of thermal energy that exists between the physical systems, depending on the pressure and temperature by dissipating heat. The essential modes of transferring the heat are convection, conduction or diffusion and radiation. Heat is transferred from region of high temperature to low temperature region. 1.0 Heat transfer The various modes of heat transfer are as follows: 1.1 Conduction: Conduction mode of heat transfer is the process in which transfer of energy is taken place between the objects that are having the physical existence. In this process heat is spreads through a matter when faster molecules and atoms run over with the slower neighboring atoms and molecules. Faster atoms and molecule can transfer their little energy known as kinetic energy to the slower ones. Conduction is also known as diffusion. 1.2 Convection Convection is also a fundamental mode of transferring the heat. In this process heat is transferred from one place to another through the movement of fluids. Fluids are those substance which are not having any fixed shape. These substances include liquid and gas state of matter. (edinformatics.com, 2015) 1.3 Radiation In the previous forms of heat transfer modes heat is transferred from one place to another or from one substance to another. • 15. Sex And Gender Are Not Equal Sex and gender are not equal contrary to common assumption. Sex, as defined by Rosman, is the physical differences between male and female [based on] biological and anatomical composition of genitals and secondary sexual characteristics (141). On the other hand, gender is defined as the culture specific set of behavioral, ideological, and social meanings constructed around the understandings of these biological and anatomical differences (142). So what does this mean? Indeed, the assumption of sexequating to genderis not necessarily true because gender is culturally constructed. Different societies often have different perceptions of what gender is: for instance North American heteronormative culture in comparison with the gender relationships of people in Wogeo (minimal differences between men and women) or of the people in Samoa specifically focusing on the fa afafine. The film, Paradise Bent, directed by Heather Croall explores part of the world of fa afafines. The fa afafine of Samoa are their own gender defying the gender binaries of strictly male or female. • 17. The Assumptions Of Ability Grouping, Student Tracking And... Abstract This paper will dive into four common unwarranted assumptions made from ability grouping (student tracking) and attempt to debunk the ideas. Ability grouping is the common educational practice of separating students based on actual or purported ability in the same grade into different instructional groups with differing levels of aptitude or achievement (Ainsworth 2013). The four assumptions that will follow were researched by the former presidential professor in equity in the graduate school of education and information studies at UCLA, Jeannie Oakes. Ability grouping or student tracking is in fact illegal in the state of California but, institutions still find alternative ways to implement the method. Keywords: Ability Grouping, Students Tracking Debunking the False Assumptions of Ability Grouping The four ability grouping assumptions are as follow: (1) Students learn better when they are grouped with other students who have similar academic skills or prior levels of achievement, (2) slower students develop more positive attitudes about themselves and their education when they are not in daily classroom contact with those who are brighter, (3) track placements are part of a meritocratic system with assignments earned by students and accorded through fair and accurate means, and (4) teaching is easier when students are grouped homogeneously, and teaching is better when there are no slower students to lower the common denominator in the classroom ... Critical chain is a modified or refined technique about critical path; it involves the deterministic and probabilistic approaches to analyze the project schedule, which is more realistic and practical than critical path. Common practices to estimate the duration of project activities: пЃ¬Down to Top: When asked about the time it takes to complete a task or activity in a whole project, each owner of the activity tends to add his safety time to the reported number; therefore, the project manager collects all the numbers from each owner and then adds his safety time to the overall duration of the project, say, the total time to complete the project. The finalized total time is more exaggerated. пЃ¬Top to Down: When given the total time by project manager, higher level managers tend to squeeze the time to reduce the time and cost. Therefore, lower level manager has to give up the initial schedule to satisfy higher level managers. The finalized time depends on the complexity of the organization: the more layers, the less time to complete a project. Real reasons that causes project delays: пЃ¬Resource constraint: If a resource is shared by many projects or activities, it would be used in order of priority, thus leading to delay of activity or project with lower priority. пЃ¬Dependency: If two activities are serial relationship, which means one relies on the completion of

Women as Instigators of Tragedy in the Works of Shakespeare It is the very error of the moon; She comes more nearer earth than she was wont, And makes men mad. In Shakespeare s comedies, especially, the moon is personified as Diana, the Roman goddess of chastity. In these comedies, the foolish antics of lovers (literally, lunatics ) usually occur under the auspices of the chaste goddess, the lovers behaving like hounds about her feet that snap at each other in competition for her bounty. Again, he compares her infidelity with the moon: What committed!/ Heaven stops the nose at it and the moon winks . . . (4.2.74). The moon, once chaste, is now flirting. Similarly, Othello believes that Desdemona, once chaste, is cuckolding him. These two examples show the multiple allegories of the moon that, similarly, exist in women. Tyler Joseph, the writer of the song and lead singer of the band, uses lyrics and different types of instruments, such as the synthesizer and strings, to portray the meanings behind the signs in this song. Additionally, the song cycles between dark and light parts, each with its own meaning. This paper will not only discuss the lyrical meaning of this song, but it will also discuss the instrumental... This suggests that the light sounding music and the dark sounding music are in fact symbols for day and night, which are also symbols for sanity and insanity. When Joseph is awake in the morning, he doesn t have dark thoughts and is sane, but at night, Joseph is insane and hears demonic voices. In addition, the voices are icons that represent evil and darkness. Later in the first lighter part, Joseph sings Why wont you let me go, Do I threaten all your plans, I m insignificant. You have no plans for me, I will set my soul on fire, what have I become, I m sorry (Joseph, Ode to Sleep). Joseph believes that he is fighting darkness with his harpoon, but he doesn t want to because by doing so, he is going insane. Moreover, when Joseph sings I will set my soul on fire , he sounds like he is struggling to take a breath, as if he was fighting to live (Joseph, Ode to Sleep). Diamond makes connections to the environmental challenges we face today and he compares the catastrophe of Easter Island to our current over consumption of natural resources. While this article makes for an interesting read, much of it is offered from a single perspective and little counter evidence is offered. The author writes in a way that could engage a non academic audience who may not be interested in counter evidence, or proper referencing. Additionally, the author uses non academic language to inspire literary imagery in order to make the article more attractive to potential readers. This article does make for an interesting read, but it is far from accurate. In my opinion, the author has cherry picked the evidence in order to create a scenario where the blame for the demise of the ecosystem was places squarely on the native s shoulders which discounts any natural factors that could have happened. The Rapa Nui were a complex society of people who utilized the land in innovative ways. Indeed something catastrophic did take place, and I do not know exactly what that was, but I do not believe it was solely greed and consumption that caused the downfall of an entire society as the author would have you believe. The author mentions the use of carbon dating, pollen analysis, archaeology, and paleontology to help develop a time frame of when the island was settled, and when it encountered problems. This should have been discussed in more detail with proper referencing in order to strengthen this article. These diciplines are useful and necessary to form a forensic picture of what the island would have been like, and when it would have started to decline. This list was made to prevent terrorists from being on planes, or traveling to other countries to do harm, and other reasons. The question is, should citizens on the no fly list be able to purchase guns? Hillary Clinton doesn t think they should be able to, and Donald Trump just wants to lock away the criminals, and let responsible people purchase guns. Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump have big voices in this political issue. Clinton, June 13 (5:14 mark): And I still am just totally bewildered by the Republican Congress refusal to block suspected terrorists from buying guns who are on the no fly list. Since then, literary historians and scholars have uncovered myths revealing an unforeseen buried past. These hallowed accounts have become the center focus of explaining the early history of the Mesopotamian civilization, and the natural phenomenon s that have existed. In particular, the Babylonian epic of creation, Enuma Elish, which served the purpose of explaining the genesis of the universeand how people first came to inhabit it, reveals a parallelism with the Greek s Theogony. The conquest of Mesopotamiaby the Greeks in the year 331 126 BC can be theorized as one of the potentiality for the Mesopotamian influence on the Greek s Theogony. The influence of the Mesopotamian tradition is seen in the Greek s account of the creation myth through parallel concepts. Although Enuma Elish and Theogony have a unique account of how the world began, and how people first came to inhabit it, they are both analogous in the sense that these creation myths are based on the foundation of: a successive motif whereby the newer gods overthrow the older, the rise of an ambitious hero, and an imperfect creation. In Theogony, and analogous to Enuma Elish, there exists a sequential motif whereby the newer gods overthrow the older. The 1998 Dreamworks production The Prince of Egypt was created to follow the remarkable story of Moses, Leading his people from slavery but was changed by the directors to give it some originality. The setting, the characters and the storylines are some of the things that have been changed in the animated story. Therefore the Dreamworks Pictures film is inaccurate and does not flow along the same page as the Biblical story of Exodus. Firstly, when compared, The settings In the Dreamworks production differ from the ones in the Biblical account. The directors have made this change to add some excitement to some of the settings. The way how the Nile has been portrayed in the movie, Vary from the Bible because the Bible tells us that Moses had been placed in a basket among some reeds, But in the movie, Moses gets placed in the basket and the Nile takes him away. He just misses all kinds of dangers, From hippos and crocodiles to the Egyptian fishing nets. The reason the director did this massive change was to make the scene more exciting and to capture the audience. The Burning bush s description is different in the Bible than how it is portrayed in the movie. In the Bible, the burning bush is on top of a mountain called Horeb but In the movie it is in a cave where God calls to him. The AMT was designed so that higher income earners would have to pay some tax and not be allowed all the deductions and credits. However, the AMT has increasingly affected more middle income taxpayers. This is a really good provision that helps many families keep more of their hard earned income. Also, the National Health Service Corps Scholarship Program and the Armed Forces Scholarship Program continue to be qualified scholarships for exclusion from income purposes through 2012. Without the tax extensions, in 2010 this would have had to be included in income. I feel that people who are promoting our nation s health and fighting for our country should not have to pay tax on their scholarships, making this another great aspect of the tax cuts. Overall, there are dozens of other tax cut extensions in this Bush Tax Cut Extension bill that were recently passed. I touched on some of the key ones that affect individuals. The suit of spades was symbolic to Ed s overall mission as Ed had to dig through truths about himself. Before the suit of spades Ed s thought of himself was that he was worth nothing, evident through the narration of Ed s monologue. The suit of spades saw Ed wanting more for his life, evident through the characterisation of Ed, the changes in his monologue. Therefore spades was symbolic as it saw Ed change his opinion on himself, recognising that he had to do something, if he wanted to be more than nothing. I d rather chase the sun than wait for it (306), and If I ever leave this place... I ll make sure I m better here first (307). Both these quotes show how Ed s mind frame has shifted from accepting that he was nobody to wanting to be something. The use of the pronoun I emphasises the fact that Ed accepts that he has to do it himself. It shows how Ed realises that he is the only that can do it, that he cannot rely on anyone else. This want for changing himself meant Ed s view on himself was not to scrutinise but rather realise. Realisation in that driving a cab and renting a fibro shack can t be the final answer of my life.
