Officemax Vs Officemax Merger
The Office Supply Stores industry has faced tough conditions during the past five years. Although
the recession accelerated the industry s decline, traditional office supply stores have long been
under pressure from the changing digital landscape and fierce external competition. The value of
the industry reached $15 billion in 2015. It had an annual growth of 5.5% in 2011 2015. After the
consolidation of the OfficeMax with the Office Depot, the merger resulted to a strong revenue
growth of 43.2% reaching $16.1 billion. However, the merger incurred $354 million loss in the
same year which is mainly attributed to supply chain mismanagement, restructuring costs, and
higher operational expenses. The consolidation made Office Depot the second largest office supply
store retailer, next to Staples Inc. However, it continued to grow negatively in terms of net income

That s why he changed the whole thing to make it friendlier. Most of the letters came like, deer

deer Stan instead of deer editor when he printed it out and for the name he would do something like
hey thanks a lot Charlie.

Cathay Pacific Essay
Body
Background information
Cathay Pacific, based in Hong Kong offers scheduled flights for passengers and cargo across 200
destinations in America, Australia, Asia, North America, Europe and Africa using a large fleet of
varying sizes of planes focusing on widebody passenger airplanes, specifically inside the medium
and small requirements set by Boeing. With 146 planes in their aircraft inventory, plus additional
planes through orders, Cathay has made many investments, in order to build up Hong Kong as a
global transport hub. As Cathay is one of the members of the oneworld alliance, they have member
airlines with airberlin, American Airlines, British Airways, Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines, LATAM
Airlines, Royal Jordanian, Sri Lankan Airlines, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The focus of this was to look at the growth of the market as well and to replace them with newer
generations of aircraft for a more pleasant flight experience for its customers. The replacing
planes would be the A320/1 Neo as well as the Boeing 737 Max. however, Jamie Carter, Manager
of Aircraft Procurement Trading at Cathay said that they would also look towards other options,
including aircraft coming off lease .
This is a strategy that in September 2017, Cathay Pacific themselves announced that they would
be delaying the delivery of longer haul aircrafts, and will instead, opt for smaller aircrafts. A
HK$31.7 billion order was made for 32 short haul aircrafts. As well as this, they are downsizing
several of their Airbus planes, going from 26 Airbus A350 1000 planes, to 22 Airbus A350 1000
planes, ordering smaller A350 900 planes, increasing their inventory from 22 aircrafts to 28. In
additional of ordering smaller planes, Cathay will delay the ordering of five more A350 1000s to

Differences Between AMUL And Other Cooperatives Following The AMUL Model
The NDDB was created so that it could implement AMUL S Model in other states. Though the main
three tier system is common everywhere there are some differences between them and AMUL
which might be the reason that the other cooperatives have not been as successful as AMUL (Prasad
and Satsangi).
In the other cooperatives the Managing Director is an IAS officer unlike in AMUL s case where the
Managing Director is chosen from amongst the selected representatives chosen by the members.
The negative impact of this is that the IAS officer won t have that level of an attachment that a
farmer who was elected would have. Hence this would surely impact the cooperative adversely.
In other government cooperatives the government has a share in it. Therefore there are government
representatives also on the board of directors other than the Managing Director. These Director s
influence the decisions of the board hugely and in the end it might result in these government
directors taking the decisions and one of the prime principles of a cooperative which is ... Show

Seeing the way AMUL and the other cooperatives have grown I can see the reason why Lal
Bahadur Shashtri wanted the Amul model to be emulated in other states. Having farmers as
policy makers of the cooperate and with some assistance from professionals in running the
cooperation was an incredible idea. By providing technology and a support system to the rural
producers, the cooperative has really increased the standard of living of the people living in rural
areas. As rightly said by Kaur in her research paper, The dairy cooperatives are among those few
institutions in India, which still cherish a strong Cooperative identity, values and purpose. They

Archetypes In Fifth Business
Fifth Business by Robertson Davies explores the theme of Psychology through several characters.
Each character has a certain archetype which will affect how they think, showing different
psychological effects. Specifically, the archetypes mentioned are the introverted, the confidant, the
egotist, and the saint. These four archetypes respectively correlate to being the side character, the
secret keeper, the self absorbed brat, or the painfully charitable woman. Davies attempts to explore
the relation between an archetype and the psychology behind it.
One example from which you can find a psychological archetype would be the protagonist, and
narrator, Dunstan Ramsay. Typically, all characters have their own problems, traumas, and
emotional luggage ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The various characters demonstrate an understanding of certain psychological quirks attached to
their respective archetype. For example, Dunstan s introversion makes him susceptible to
become the Fifth Business, while his mentality of being the confidant forces him to keep secrets
regardless of who is being told or whom the secret is from. Percy s obsession for power shows
the lack of psychological development to gain emotion, becoming emotionally stunted and naive.
Mrs. Dempster s saint archetype as seen by Dunstan is to an extreme degree, to the point where
she seemingly does anything to help, often coming off as a miracle worker. Such archetypes have
their effects on each individual s thoughts and behaviour, and the reason that Davies is able to
represent these archetypes is due to the fact that these psychological characteristics take part in our
everyday life in the people we meet. This allows the readers to better understand the characters as
they are able to connect these characters with people they know in real life. It is important to
recognize that the thoughts build the person, and the theme of psychology focuses on just that. As
a result of this, Davies does an excellent job in representing each of the characters as their own

Seneca s Theory Of Ethics Caught My Interest
Born in 1 BCE, Lucius Annaeus Seneca was a Stoic philosopher whose writings cover a vast
range of topics concerning the human experience. The public s conception of stoicism as a
school of philosophy predominantly focused on embracing misfortune without complaint is
somewhat distorted from the actual beliefs its outstanding figures held. Seneca s approach to
ethics caught my interest, after thinking over his arguments, I found myself agreeing with much
of what he had to say, that is if I interpreted it correctly. I believe the principles espoused by the
stoics to be particularly relevant over the past century. The 1920 s is often associated as an age
of materialism, an unsustainable time period inundated with mass consumption and fixated on
pleasure. Perhaps it is not as extreme as then nowadays, I would not know for I was not alive;
however, it feels like we are in a similar climate. Everyone wants the newest products, the new
iPhone that comes out every year, that new pair of shoes, that new videogame system, that new
watch, or that new house, etc. Although we have yet to reach the world described by Aldous
Huxley in that of the literary classic Brave New World, which depicts a society constructed upon
drowning in excess consumption of sex and soma, where John, the savage, is perceived as a
lunatic for his quaint habits of being virtuous. More interesting, is the growing desire to be happy,
this is shown by the increasing amounts of literature and social science

The Pros And Cons Of Dehumanization In America
Carolina, the states agreed to keep slavery legal under the constitution. Northerners and
Southerners had different views of slaves being considered as property tax and being a counted
as an individual into the population for power and economic reasons. To solve the differences
the three fifth compromises became there solution. Rather than each slave being counted as a
person, three fifths of a state s slave population would be counted toward that state s total
population. In this way slaves became three fifths of a human. (DeGruy, 2005, pg. 51). The act
of dehumanization to those of African descent caused European individual to feel superior. A
significant portion of the population viewed Africans as a lesser species of human than those of
European descent. (DeGruy, 2005, pg. 51). This action showed that it was greatly accepted that
blacks were inferior. Dehumanizing a race causes self hatred and acts of low self esteem towards
those being oppressed. The people of European descent started to develop cognitive dissonance
which became detrimental to the black race. Cognitive Dissonance causes human beings not to
function well unless all dissonance is removed because it drives a great deal of discomfort. The
discomfort is caused by discord thinking which occurs when there s conflict with what you believe
and behaviors that goes against their belief. In order for the Europeans to remove cognitive
dissonance they had to either own up to the negative act and address the harm

Joy Morton Salt Transportation Essay
Transportation is one of the most important necessities for humans. Without it, traveling, economic
activity, and mobility would not be done as quickly or efficiently. Transportation is the act of
moving something from one place to another. We need transportation because of all life s
necessities and pleasures. The key to the salt businesswas transportation and luckily for Joy
Morton, his company was, founded on a transportation idea (Kurlansky pg.426). Morton was
twenty four years old when he began working for a small company in Chicago called E.I. Wheeler

The first several chapters in the first section of the book dealing with the procurement and use of
salt in the ancient world. The Chinese and the Egyptians were the first to use salt on a large
scale. The Egyptians collected evaporated salt from the sea and the Nile and they used the salt in
their food as well as an essential ingredient in preserving the body during mummification. The
Chinese used evaporated salt to salt fish and to create a condiment that we still use, soy sauce. It
was the Romans, though, with their fish based diet that really used salt extensively in their cuisine.
The next several chapters deal with the importance of salt in Christian Europe during the middle
Ages and into the Early Modern period. In Catholic Europe, the church had placed certain dietary
restriction forbidding meat on Fridays and church holidays. This created an enormous market for
fish. Now, having read this last chapter of Salt, I am very aware of how extensive the history of
this commodity is. One of the great underlying themes of Salt is the idea of how one little thing can
make many different big things. In fact, Salt can read as one long tale of unintended consequences.
Throughout history different people, rulers, inventors, ext. have tried to do one thing that lead to
many different

participant by carrying out two trials of each task out at the end of which the participants noted
their scores down. The participants task was to recall the sequence of the spatial blocks and digits.
After the two tasks were completed the correlation between the two tasks and their scores was

APPARATUS The apparatus used in this experiment was a Macintosh PowerPC with a purpose
built experimental software installed to display the digital span and spatial span tasks. In order
to counterbalance the measurement procedures a coin was tossed to decide the order. A mouse
and a chair were also provided. MATERIALS In this experiment digital span material (which
assesses verbal short term memory) and spatial span material (also known as the Corsi blocks
task) was used and these were presented on the computer screen for the participants. In order to
replicate the original study by Smyth, M, m and Scholey, K. A.(1996) a computer presentation
was used for both the tasks so that the two tasks could be presented under similar conditions. In
the spatial span task, participants were shown a set of fixed spatial locations and then were
presented with a short sequence of those locations which the participants had to remember and
reproduce in that order. The digit span task on the other hand had numbers from 1 to 9. DESIGN

An Reader s Creation Of Meaning
Have you ever read a page or two from a book and realize you have no remembrance of what was
written on those pages? It is easy for our minds to drift away from what we re reading, causing us
to lose comprehension of the book. When working with children, it is important for them to
comprehend the books they read. Although a child may say a book was good or they liked that
particular book, did they fully comprehend what they read? To be certain whether children
comprehend what they are reading, teachers use retellings in order to evaluate their reading
performance. Retellings are truly the reader s creation of meaning.
A retelling is a way of assessing and evaluating students memories, reactions, and understandings of
their reading (2000). These activities are important because it is a way of evaluating the quality of
students comprehension. When teachers evaluate students retelling, they are measuring the reader s
construction of meaning. During these evaluations, teachers are looking to see if students cite
specific story elements from the text, such as the characters, plot, setting, resolution, and theme, if
their retelling was sequential (beginning, middle, and end), if the student made inferences to fill in
the missing information, and if they are making connections to the story. Teachers also evaluate
whether the student omitted any information, such as main ideas, details to support main ideas,
evidence of inferential thinking, and key vocabulary to understanding

The Sale Of Foreign Arms
POSITION PAPER
ON
THE SALE OF FOREIGN ARMS
1. This paper will argue that, in its current state, the sale of foreign arms does not support United
States (US) foreign policy. The sale of US arms exacerbates conflict in the Middle East and
contributes to human rights abuses.1 The Obama administration implemented a Conventional Arms
Transfer Policy in 2014 to control arms sales and prevent human rights abuses while providing the
weapons countries need to defend themselves in order to prevent the need for US boots on the
ground.2 However, these measures are not enough and US weapons can and do still end up in the
hands of terrorists.1

initial five ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Countries in the area have hoarded, are using, and are asking for more American arms. These
events have unleashed the possibility of a dangerous new arms race in areas of turmoil and
changing alliances.3 Some of the arms the United States sold to the region are being used in
conflicts. Saudi Arabia uses Boeing F 15 fighters to strike Yemen and the United Arab Emiratesis
flying Lockheed Martin F 16 s to bomb Yemen and Syria.3 Saudi Arabia in particular has
committed human rights abuses in its air war in Yemen. Amnesty International has called on the US
to cease selling bombs, fighter jets, and combat helicopters to Saudi Arabia. According to the
United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, the conflict between Saudi Arabia and anti
government rebels has killed thousands of civilians, and two thirds of those lives were claimed by
Saudi air strikes.4
4. The United States has not ignored the role foreign arms sales play in human rights violations. In
2014, President Obama issued a directive called Conventional Arms Transfer Policy. It clearly
expresses that the United States should not sell military arms to countries that are unstable enough
that they might turn the weapons against the US or its allies. The policy calls for officials to
examine the risk that the recipient of the arms would use them to commit human rights violations
or that the arms

Over Speeding Persuasive Speech
Over Speeding
Over speeding is a common habit on the roads globally. Several people lose their lives annually
because they are driving beyond the speed limits or fall victims of an over speeding vehicle. This
means that all road users have an obligation to adhere to the road safety measures in order to
reduce the number of increasing fatalities on the road. Australian government through the transport
commission came up with various commercial ads aired on the television and digital media with a
purpose of communicating a specific intention; road safety. This paper will focus on a commercial
ad on over speeding.
The ad titled don t fool yourself, speed kills was launched in 1995. This followed a death tool of
418 on Victorian road. The ad was simply called mum in a Hurry and uploaded on you tube in
2009. It is a one minute commercial. The commercial is owned and managed by Australian
Transport Commission (TAC Victoria) for its anti speed adverts. A mother who is in a hurry
drives her vehicle at a high speed and in a reckless manner that she almost crushes other cars on
the road. The woman could not contain her speed when a pet crossed the road and a boy; Scottie
who was running after it is knocked down and dies. The idea of speed being a killer is justifiable

Project Manager s Role On Construction Project Essay
Part 1. Investigation
1.The project manager plays a vital role on the construction project, from the very beginning of its
initiation and planning to execution, to completion and handing over the complete project to the
client. The project manager identifies and select the discrete processes to meet the project objective
and target, considering the constituting inputs and outputs for the process (Project Management
Institute, 2013). The project manager should be perceptive, well informed and should show
keenness to the project for its timely delivery, under the targeted cost, reliable and durable quality,
as projects are financial investments and a successful project gains the trust of client (Heerkens,
2014). The project manager is required to perform better than the past, which would be achieved
by learning by doing. The project manager will not be able to complete the project without a team.
The project manager should make a team and take all the responsibility like a team leader for the
successful delivery of the project (Heerkens, 2014). Before starting the project, the project manager
should breakdown the project into measurable tasks, inter linking the tasks, allocating time to each
task, assigning tools, techniques, human resources to each tasks for its successful completion
(Tinnirello, 1999).
2.The project management processes consists of discrete and identifiable elements, and activities.

A New Concept
IAQ is not a new concept, consider our ancestors living in caves and the impact from smoke
pollutions or in ancient Egypt stonemasons working in the open air were healthier than those
working in workshop. Even Biblical scripts refer to the dangers of mould in the home. However,
there have been four fundamental developments that have occurred in the last forty five years
(Lee, et al., 1996): The increased time spent within indoor environments. The increased dependency
on artificial products (building materials and finishes, scents, furniture). The increased occupancy
density (open plan offices, reduction of working space). Advancements of energy conservation
techniques (air tight buildings, re circulated air, reduced ventilation). A growing body of scientific
evidence has indicated that the air within buildings can be more seriously polluted than the
outdoor air in even the largest and most industrialized cities. The US s Toxic Substances Strategy
Committee stated that the majority of cancers (80 90%) are triggered by exposure to substances
in the environment (Landrigan et al., 2002). According to a 5 year study carried out by the US
Environmental Protection Agency (Greenfield, 1991), peak concentrations of 20 toxic compounds,
some linked with cancer and birth defects, were 200 500 times higher inside than outdoors. It is
necessary to note that these figures are based on US values and there is a need to exhibit caution in
applying them directly to the UK in

breaking it. After looking at a few different pieces of equipment, I found myself looking at the GPU
(Graphics Processing Unit). One of the first articles I read was a gaming enthusiast that was
explaining how people who purchased the top of the line GPU a few years ago for an outrageous
price, were being outperformed by a newer GPU for a much lower price. This sparked my... Show

Both in cost of product, stock prices and even the supply as well. Over the last few years,
computer enthusiast saw a dramatic shift in prices for GPUs. The biggest spike in price comes
from cryptocurrency mining. At the height of the cryptocurrency mining craze, GPU cards were
being sold for up to triple what they were being sold just weeks prior. A great example of this
was the Asus ROG Strix RX 580 which before June of 2017, cost about around the $300 price
tag. On June 6th, 2017 it hit its highest price and topped at an astonishing $849.99. This was
because of the massive demand for graphics cards and this caused a shortage that has just
recently started to relax as more graphics cards can be found on the market for more reasonable
prices. The equilibrium was completely askew with the extreme demand with not enough
supply. Now that cryptocurrencies have started to settle with not as many mass purchases, we
see prices across the board coming down. With more and more interest in A.I, the GPU finds
itself at the center of its progress. GPUs are taking over the process that CPU s once held as the
computation powerhouse for A.I as it is able to offer more cores to enable faster learning in
certain areas of the A.I field. Since neither of these seem to be going away, making the logical leap
that GPU s will be around and will be constantly advancing with the surrounding technology, seems
like a safe bet. As mentioned before, GPUs will not be going anywhere any time

Analysis Of The Book Vs. 1-2
Literary Context
Paragraph Analysis
Vs. 1 2: The chapter introduces the solemnity of the giving of the law upon Mount Sinai, which
was one of the most striking appearances of the divine glory. The reader is given the
circumstances of the time and place and the proposal of God s covenant with Israel. The people
come to Sinai and God s message is given to them. Moses is called up the mountain, into the
presence of God, and was employed as the messenger of the covenant. This covenant was granted
out of God s free grace. It is meant to be a national covenant by which the Israelites were a people
under the government of God. The covenant would become a shadow of the good things to come.
Moses then directs them to prepare to hear the law, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the third month refers to the month of Sivan, around the end of May. At the foot of Sinai they
would become a nation under the leadership of God.
Vs. 2: When they set out from Rephidim, they came to the wilderness of Sinai and camped in the
wilderness; and there Israel camped in front of the mountain.
Rephidim is one of the places visited by the Israelites in the account of the exodus from Egypt. At
Rephidim, they can find no water to drink, and angrily demand that Moses give them water.
Moses calls on God for help and is told to strike a certain rock in Horeb which causes a stream to
flow from it, providing ample water for the people.
Vs. 3: Moses went up to God, and the LORD called to him from the mountain, saying, Thus you
shall say to the house of Jacob and tell the sons of Israel: Moses would have known the area from
his time herding sheep. He went up into the Shekinah glory of God to receive God s message. The
people were to realize the promises made to Jacob.
Vs. 4: You yourselves have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles wings,
and brought you to Myself.
On eagle s wings refers to the being drawn up and out of the reach of their slave masters. Their
being brought to God implies that this was a special place of His presence.

Flashback In The Kite Runner
As Amir waited on Sohrab s response to his question which was if Sohrab would acompany Amir
to America his mind drifted back to a winter day from long ago. This flashback I believe pla an
important role in understanding the character of Hassan. Amirs mind flashed back to the image
of Hassan and him sitting on the snow beneath a leafless sour cherry tree. That day was where
Amir playes a cruel joke on hassan by asking him if he would chew dirt to prove his loyalty to
him and Amir said If you asked, I would, but also in responce, Hassan asked Amir if he would
ever ask such a thing which Amir responded he would not. But as Amir say That s the thing about

Examples Of Individualism In Anthem
Anthem: A Scuffle with Collectivism Anthem / anTHem / noun 1. A rousing or uplifting song
identified with a particular, body, or cause. Ayn Rand has changed and manipulated the definition of
Anthem. Anthem by Ayn Rand tells the story of a street sweeper named Equality 7 2521 that
discovers individualism in a collectivist society where individualism is strongly discouraged.
Throughout the novel, Anthem conveys themes of governmental monopoly and the loss of
individual identity. A theme explored by Anthem is the loss of individual identity and the struggle
to find his individualism. The time he found his own identity was when he ran into the forbidden

Outlining Two Theories of Development Essay
Theories of child development have been researched and published over the years. These
researches have been done by popular theorists four of whom are Piaget (1896 1980), Vygotsky
(1896 1934), Ausubel (1918 2008) and Kohlberg (1927 1987). First and foremost let me define
the term theory. A theory is a collection of related statements; the principal function of which is to
summarize and explain observations. It is in a sense an invention designed to make sense of what
we know or suspect. Developmental theory on the other hand is a systematic statement of
principles and generalizations that provides a coherent framework for understanding how and why
people change as they grow older. The writer in her essay will outline two theories of... Show more

moral reasoning, which is the basis for ethical behavior, has six identifiable developmental
constructive stages each more adequate at responding to moral dilemmas than the last. In studying
these, Kohlberg followed the development of moral judgment far beyond the ages originally
studied earlier by Piaget, who also claimed that logic and morality develop through constructive
stages. Expanding considerably upon this groundwork, it was determined that the process of moral
development was principally concerned with justice and that its development continued throughout
the lifespan, even spawning dialogue of philosophical implications of such research. Kohlberg
studied moral reasoning by presenting subjects with moral dilemmas. He would then categorize and
classify the reasoning used in the responses into one of six distinct stages, grouped into three levels:

Narrative Essay On Roaring Dollars
Ever heard of a relaxing time with your loved ones? This year, specifically June 17th, 2017, I
went to Boise, ID for my Cousin s Thirteenth Birthday. We went to Roaring Springs (On June
18th) which was like the Dollarama version of Hurricane Harbor in Six Flags, where we
celebrated his birthday. There were about fourteen or fifteen of us, me, my Mom, Dad, Grandma,
Grandpa, Aunt s, Uncle s, Cousin s, and a few friends. We were all very anxious about what s to
come and how we re going to handle an exclusive time with people we care for.
We were in the car and my little cousin was extremely annoying, so I almost threw him out the
window, but I didn t because it was tremendously scorching, which leads to the reason on why we
went to the Water Park. We got to the parking lot and the vision of the Water Park didn t exceed
with my expectations because I thought it would be much bigger. The only thing that ruined it for
me is my cousin peed on the side of my aunt s tire and I bolted to the entrance, so I couldn t see.
There were fifteen tickets and it took about an hour because the scanner wasn t working and it kept
shutting off after each ticket. Luckily, I was first, so I just went through not caring about anyone or
anything and got our seats.
At first, we sang Happy Birthday to my cousin the traditional way, before we went out and had
fun. My cousin got a few, but not a lot of presents. He got a Black History Month, Golden State
Warriors shirt with a big NBA logo on the back. He also got a mini hoop that he hung on the door
after our trip. Another one of his gifts was from one of his closest friends I m pretty sure, which
was a Golden State Warriors plush blanket. His last gift was from us which was Under Armour
shorts and thirty five dollars as well. My family and his family ordered food burgers, fries, chicken,
and tater tots which were surprisingly pretty good. The tots were fresh out of the oven salted and
peppered up to perfection. They had Sriracha, which was one of my favorite spicy sauces which
I dipped the tots in and I almost passed out because it was so deliciously spicy. My only complaint
is that they weren t hot and extremely cold, but it was still pretty good. Afterwards, we went to go

Psychodynamic Therapeutic Approach
The choice of therapeutic approach is critical to the effectiveness of any therapeutic plan. In some
cases, a particular approach has become a universal standard: such as cognitive behavioral therapy
for the treatment of phobias. More often, there is a range of potentially suitable approaches.
Numerous factors constrain the possibilities: the nature of the presenting problem or psychological
issue, the client s level of commitment to change, whether the client is an individual, family, or
group are all factors. Practical considerations are also relevant: the cost of treatment and limits of
insurance coverage, the duration of sessions and total length of treatment, and legal or institutional
constraints. The client s preference is also extremely... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The individual format would be ideal. Family therapy would be impractical since my daughter is
already an adult. A group therapy format would not be conducive to the depth of personal insight
expected. The brief format, preferably with around 12 weekly sessions, would be more feasible
than going through years of therapy. Psychodynamic psychotherapy is particularly well suited in
my case since it emphasizes the client s relationship with the primary caregiver. This would be my
mother and the issues surrounding her death. Another approach might be advisable if there were
issues of substance abuse, mental illness, or a trauma related disorder such as post traumatic stress
disorder (McDaniel, Lusterman, Philpot, 2001; Rothschild, 2000). My goal in seeking therapy
would be to attain greater insight into the significance of my daughter mother relationship and how
her death has impacted me. Improving my coping skills might be a part of the picture. Since many
years have passed since my mother s death, immediate grief support and management would not be
a pressing concern. In short, since my primary therapeutic goals would revolve around self
understanding of my relationship with my mother, brief psychodynamic psychotherapy would be a

Religion In The Pardoner s Tale
Throughout The Canterbury Tales religious figures are represented with character traits that are
completely different from what would be traditionally expected. One main cause behind this was
because Europe was ruled, mostly, by the Catholic Church which caused many people to suffer
from poverty and wealth while the church was building extravagant cathedrals. The overwhelming
difference between the suffering of the people and the wealth of the church caused Chaucer to show
many of his characters as deceitful and greedy. Multiple examples of this can be found throughout
The Canterbury Taleslike; the Summoner from the The Friar s Tale and Death from the The
Pardoner s Tale.
During Chaucer s life a summoner was a church official who would bring people that have been
accused of violating the laws set by the church to court, which was also set up by the church. In
The Friar s Tale there is a deceitful summoner who pressures people into giving bribing him, so
they won t have to go to court, by using his position in the church. In order to accomplish this the
summoner has a network of spies that will report to him in order for him to be able to issue the
summons for court and con the people out of there money. Unlike what most people thought the

Death is either to to die or kill another character when they are close to Death. When writing this

are going to lead to death. Ironically the Pardoner also embodies all of these traits because
towards the end of the tale he tries to get people to buy his relics in order to make a quick buck,
which shows that another church official is just as corrupt and greedy as the Summoner from The

Characteristics Of The Villa Rotonda
The Villa Rotonda is a famous architecture designed by Palladio. Many people who make great
achievements in architecture, Howard Burns, Francis Ching et al., Andrea Palladio and Rudolf
Wittkower, have all written some words in their books about it. They describe some same
characteristics but for different purpose. Symmetrical structure is the most obvious feature of
the Villa Rotonda, and all four experts works involve it. Burns, professor in architectural history,
look at this villa on a macroscopic level, and he ascribes its symmetry to the influence by Alberti,
Raphael and Giulio. As a forerunner in villa design, Alberti puts forward an idea, in De re
aedificatoria, that a villa should have a central court or hall, and pedimented portico. All these
elements can be found in the Villa Rotonda. Raphael s the Villa Madama becomes a reference
when Palladio begins his design. Wittkower, an art historian specializing in Italian Renaissance
and Baroque art and architecture , describe Palladio s works as his experiments. He says that
Renaissance architects always regarded symmetry as a theoretical requirement in design .
Wittkower also mentions that Palladio has already taken lots of studies on the basic geometric
pattern of villa before he designs the Villa Rotonda. The architecture and design graphics writer
Francis Ching describes its plan and section elevation in detail. He writes ...it is symmetrical around

No Country For Old Men Setting Analysis
In the book No Country For Old Men they use a setting set in a desolate country area of Texas.

In No Country Moss is a character that is very ignorant to what he has started and how he thinks
he can still be in control. This plays into the setting because a setting in the country is a symbol of
ignorance and primitivism. This is shown in Moss by him thinking that he could get away with

Enforcing of contracts, ease of obtaining electricity, overall ease in process when starting a

Social Determinants Of Health May Influence The Burden Of...
1. a. Social determinants of health may influence the burden of disease on global health in many
ways. There are major differences in the leading causes of death between low income, middle
income, and high income countries (Moss, 2015). These differences are the result of the varied
level of wealth, access to healthcare and clean water, knowledge of health care needs, and the
countries ability to provide adequate health care to their citizens. Therefore, certain diseases are
more prevalent in poor countries versus wealthy countries (Moss, 2015). For example, HIV/AIDS,
Malaria, and tuberculosis are major killers in low income countries. Moreover, some preventable
diseases are also prevalent in the low income countries, such as lower respiratory infections,
diarrheal disease, premature and low weight births, and neonatal infections (Moss, 2015). Infectious
diseases remain the leading causes of death among the middle income countries. At older age, the
leading causes of death changes to non communicable chronic diseases, such as heart disease,
stroke, and cancer. This corresponds to the leading causes of death among high income countries
(Moss, 2015). Therefore, high income countries spend a significant amount of their GDP on
chronic non communicable diseases while low income countries spend a significant amount of their
GDP on communicable diseases, such as HIV, Malaria, and Tuberculosis (Moss, 2015).

Boston, which at that time was called Shawmut, was settled on a peninsula that jutted out into
the bay. People also settled along water for military reasons. Take for example, Jamestown,
Virginia, which was settled some 60 miles up the James River, on a peninsula. Here there was a
good view up and down the river, which made it easy to defend attacks by land or water. New
Amsterdam, which is present day New York, was another colonythat settled on the waterfront for
military reasons. New Amsterdam settled on a island, which is present day Manhattan, with a
good view in all directions. This made it easy to defend. Even more colonies were settled along
water in colonial America. In the 17th century, several European countries founded settlements
along the St. Lawrence River. The waterways were also a major reason why France and England
originally came to North America. Two dreams originally attracted France and England to North
America; kingdoms rich with gold, and a water route to Asia. All in all, rivers and oceans played a
major role in the settling of America. Without them, the United States would look much different
today.
The ability to grow crops also helped shape the identity of America. The crops in America were
able to feed large numbers of people, which attracted colonists. (Eventually, these crops were
introduced worldwide, which was part of the reason the world s population quadrupled in the next

Essay about Roanoke Colony
The Lost Colony
Jamestown is thought by most of to be the first colony in the New World but this is not the
complete truth. Jamestown is considered our first successful colony; however it was not the first
attempt at a colony. There were a few attempts to colonize the New World before Jamestown and
one in particular that was the most mysterious is the Roanoke colony, also known as the Lost
Colony. The colony got this name because the colonists that were there vanished mysteriously with
no trace of what happened.

cousin, Sir Richard Grenville, was picked up to be the leader of a group to establish a colony on

direction of Ralph Lane, the colony was doomed from the beginning.
The settlers had arrived late in the season which made it almost impossible to plant crops and
supplies were depleting and to make things worse, Lane, a captain alienated the surrounding tribes

discuss(frequency adverbs). An adverb is a word that modifiesthe manners of verbs. There are
many kinds of adverbs such as manner, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Aksar
2. Aksarwagt: in this case, people addsuffixwagt which means (time) to refer to a specific time.
It is not important to add or delete the suffix wagt. If it is added it will not change themeaning in
a speech it only tells what is the time in a very specific way. If it is deleted people will know that
you are talking about time but not in certainty.
4. Conclusion :
In Dari, adverbs like (Frequently, always, sometimes and usually) occurs in 3 positions: before
verb, after verb and at the begging of a sentence.
Adverb like usually has 2 ways in written form: aksar before verb and aksarwagt if the position is
changed.
Adjectives can be described as adverbs by adding the prefix ba, and they will always occur before
verbs.
To conclude this paper, Dari is an interesting and simple language. Frequency adverbs are
interesting because they describe the time of any event. Their Frequency adverbs are flexible and
they move easily in the sentences. They occur in the beginning of the sentence, before or after a
verb. They do not make any changes to the meaning.

Unit 4222 237 Dementia Awareness (DEM 201) Outcome 1 understand what dementia is Explain
what is meant by the term dementia (201.1.1) Dementia describes a set of symptoms that may
include memory loss and difficulties with thinking, problem solving or language. These changes
are often small to start with, but for someone with dementia they have become severe enough to
affect daily life. Dementia is caused when the brain is damaged by diseases, such as Alzheimer s
disease, vascular dementia, Lewy body disease, a series of strokes or even a group of symptoms
which may result from brain injury, vitamin/hormonal imbalance, drugs and alcohol. These diseases
have factors in common and can cause a person to have their mental... Show more content on

It focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of the illness, however, in its most narrow form can
sometimes fail to address some other important influences on health and wellbeing. The medical
model is concerned with the pursuit of cures for the disease. Outline the social model of
dementia (201.2.2) The social model emphasises a broader range of factors rather than just
physical ones. It places more importance on the interaction of social and biological factors in
the development of dementia. It s based on the understanding and complexity of human health
and wellbeing. It takes into account the importance of supporting people who are vulnerable,
and values the knowledge and understanding of those who experience dementia and their carers.
It is about focussing on individuals abilities instead of their losses. There is growing evidence to
show that people are adapting to living with dementia. Explain why dementia should be viewed
as a disability (201.2.3) Dementia which was views as a disease is now viewed as a disability. It
allows us to view people with dementia as individuals coping with their own impairment and
entitled to an adequate quality of life and comfort. To do this it is necessary for us to shift our way
of thinking from focusing on dementia as a disease that degenerative without a cure, to focusing on
the whole person and seeing dementia as a disability of certain parts of the persons

Similarities Between The Holocaust And The Holocaust
All around us people are being discriminated for what they look or act like, the color of their skin,
religion, and language. During the civil rights movement the citizens of the United States were
fighting over equality.Unfortunately, a few people might have said they didn t want African
Americans in their country and that opinion spread to other people and the world of the African
Americans was completely turned upside down. There is a similar story sorta like the civil rights
movement and it was called the Holocaust. The Holocaust was where at one point the Jewish
religion was considered racist and needed to be treated differently from other religions. Although,
the holocaust and the civil rights movement based around two different groups of people and what
happened to those people both talk about discrimination of both groups. In each of these two
events two different groups of people were being targeted as different. In the holocaust the Jewish
people were called different ; all because one man thinks that the Jewish religion shouldn t exist
everyone else begins to feel that way. As time went, on this man, Adolf Hitler, may the jews
feel
nonhuman and that they have no identity in the world. On the other hand, in the civil rights
movement, it was African Americans who were considered different. During this time many
Americans were fighting over equality in the United States. many African Americans were bad and
they needed to be tortured and I didn t need to

Legalization Of Polygamy In The United States
In today s developing world it is common for people to desire and be affectionate with more than
one spouse. It seems difficult for one person, man or woman to commit to being with one spouse,
therefore the divorce rates are increasing every day. The question remains whether this act should
be legalized or not.
Polygamy is having more than one spouse. There are different types of polygamy; these include
polygamy where a man has multiple wives, polyandry in which a woman has multiple husbands,
and group marriage where a family consists of multiple husbands and wives. Polygamy is
definitely the most popular of the three listed. In the United States the practice of any form of
polygamy is illegal and due to this law, many adherents of the lifestyle stays hidden. My perspective
of polygamy is that having more than one spouse should remain illegal because marriage means
committing to one person alone.
Having more than one spouse can cause many issues for the family. Financial issues, lack of
attention and affection to the other wives, one of the wives may feel like the husband is giving
more attention ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Polygamy brings many problems in a family life, but some people support it because it doesn t
conflict with religion. In my opinion, polygamy should not be legalized. By not legalizing
polygamy in the United States is a great way to save families from suffering. Polygamy doesn t
only give a bad effect for the wives but for the children s psychology. Polygamy can also
encourage the idea that women are considered objects that men can own. Eventually, this can lead
to abuse and other issues that no one should ever have to deal with. These relationships will cause
hatred, jealousy, depressed, and an emotional burden among the family members. Therefore,
polygamous marriage is not a right thing to do. It just causes more problems, women, and children
suffer from

Argument Essay On Texting While Driving
Texting while driving is a controversial subject. The vast majority of people feel that texting
while driving should be illegal. Most people also feel that legal actions need to take place to stop
this behavior. However, I m part of the small majority that disagrees with the main point of view.
I believe that texting while driving shouldn t be illegal and that states that have made it illegal
need to repeal those laws. Texting while driving isn t the true problem. The true problem is that
people get distracted easily. So I believe that making texting while driving illegal doesn t even
solve the problem. Another reason why it shouldn t be illegal is that people don t follow laws as
it is, and this can cause even more problems. Texting while driving should be the driver s choice,
not the government s choice. While those who think that the law that bans texting while driving
will solve the problem, I believe that it will only worsen the problem. The people who choose to
follow the law most likely don t care about texting and driving. So they probably wouldn t text
and drive even if it isn t a law. However, those who are addicted to texting and driving will not
stop just because a law is passed. In past events where similar situations have occurred, it has
only backfired on our government and society. This situation I m talking about is making certain
drugs illegal. The government made drugs illegal believing it was going to help solve the crime
rate, solve social problems, health, and hygiene. This clearly did not go as planned. It ended up
creating gangs, private selling of different types of drugs, and crime rates increasing. I do agree
that texting and driving is dangerous. However, I believe that texting and driving laws make the
problem worse. People who still text and drive have to hide their phones lower on their laps than
they normally would because it is illegal to text and drive. Since they have to put their phones
lower on their lap, their reaction time increases. In some cases passing a law solves the problem,
but in other cases , like texting while driving and making certain drugs illegal, the problem can
possibly become worse. The reason why texting and driving is so dangerous isn t because of

  • 2. Officemax Vs Officemax Merger The Office Supply Stores industry has faced tough conditions during the past five years. Although the recession accelerated the industry s decline, traditional office supply stores have long been under pressure from the changing digital landscape and fierce external competition. The value of the industry reached $15 billion in 2015. It had an annual growth of 5.5% in 2011 2015. After the consolidation of the OfficeMax with the Office Depot, the merger resulted to a strong revenue growth of 43.2% reaching $16.1 billion. However, the merger incurred $354 million loss in the same year which is mainly attributed to supply chain mismanagement, restructuring costs, and higher operational expenses. Differences Between AMUL And Other Cooperatives Following The AMUL Model The NDDB was created so that it could implement AMUL S Model in other states. Though the main three tier system is common everywhere there are some differences between them and AMUL which might be the reason that the other cooperatives have not been as successful as AMUL (Prasad and Satsangi). In the other cooperatives the Managing Director is an IAS officer unlike in AMUL s case where the Managing Director is chosen from amongst the selected representatives chosen by the members. The negative impact of this is that the IAS officer won t have that level of an attachment that a farmer who was elected would have. Hence this would surely impact the cooperative adversely. In other government cooperatives the government has a share in it. Therefore there are government representatives also on the board of directors other than the Managing Director. • 8. Archetypes In Fifth Business Fifth Business by Robertson Davies explores the theme of Psychology through several characters. Each character has a certain archetype which will affect how they think, showing different psychological effects. Specifically, the archetypes mentioned are the introverted, the confidant, the egotist, and the saint. These four archetypes respectively correlate to being the side character, the secret keeper, the self absorbed brat, or the painfully charitable woman. Davies attempts to explore the relation between an archetype and the psychology behind it. One example from which you can find a psychological archetype would be the protagonist, and narrator, Dunstan Ramsay. Typically, all characters have their own problems, traumas, and emotional luggage ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The various characters demonstrate an understanding of certain psychological quirks attached to their respective archetype. For example, Dunstan s introversion makes him susceptible to become the Fifth Business, while his mentality of being the confidant forces him to keep secrets regardless of who is being told or whom the secret is from. Percy s obsession for power shows the lack of psychological development to gain emotion, becoming emotionally stunted and naive. Mrs. Dempster s saint archetype as seen by Dunstan is to an extreme degree, to the point where she seemingly does anything to help, often coming off as a miracle worker. Such archetypes have their effects on each individual s thoughts and behaviour, and the reason that Davies is able to represent these archetypes is due to the fact that these psychological characteristics take part in our everyday life in the people we meet. This allows the readers to better understand the characters as they are able to connect these characters with people they know in real life. It is important to recognize that the thoughts build the person, and the theme of psychology focuses on just that. As a result of this, Davies does an excellent job in representing each of the characters as their own ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The public s conception of stoicism as a school of philosophy predominantly focused on embracing misfortune without complaint is somewhat distorted from the actual beliefs its outstanding figures held. Seneca s approach to ethics caught my interest, after thinking over his arguments, I found myself agreeing with much of what he had to say, that is if I interpreted it correctly. I believe the principles espoused by the stoics to be particularly relevant over the past century. The 1920 s is often associated as an age of materialism, an unsustainable time period inundated with mass consumption and fixated on pleasure. Perhaps it is not as extreme as then nowadays, I would not know for I was not alive; however, it feels like we are in a similar climate. Everyone wants the newest products, the new iPhone that comes out every year, that new pair of shoes, that new videogame system, that new watch, or that new house, etc. Although we have yet to reach the world described by Aldous Huxley in that of the literary classic Brave New World, which depicts a society constructed upon drowning in excess consumption of sex and soma, where John, the savage, is perceived as a lunatic for his quaint habits of being virtuous. Northerners and Southerners had different views of slaves being considered as property tax and being a counted as an individual into the population for power and economic reasons. To solve the differences the three fifth compromises became there solution. Rather than each slave being counted as a person, three fifths of a state s slave population would be counted toward that state s total population. In this way slaves became three fifths of a human. (DeGruy, 2005, pg. 51). The act of dehumanization to those of African descent caused European individual to feel superior. A significant portion of the population viewed Africans as a lesser species of human than those of European descent. (DeGruy, 2005, pg. 51). This action showed that it was greatly accepted that blacks were inferior. Dehumanizing a race causes self hatred and acts of low self esteem towards those being oppressed. The people of European descent started to develop cognitive dissonance which became detrimental to the black race. Cognitive Dissonance causes human beings not to function well unless all dissonance is removed because it drives a great deal of discomfort. The Chinese and the Egyptians were the first to use salt on a large scale. The Egyptians collected evaporated salt from the sea and the Nile and they used the salt in their food as well as an essential ingredient in preserving the body during mummification. The Chinese used evaporated salt to salt fish and to create a condiment that we still use, soy sauce. It was the Romans, though, with their fish based diet that really used salt extensively in their cuisine. The next several chapters deal with the importance of salt in Christian Europe during the middle Ages and into the Early Modern period. In Catholic Europe, the church had placed certain dietary restriction forbidding meat on Fridays and church holidays. This created an enormous market for fish. Now, having read this last chapter of Salt, I am very aware of how extensive the history of this commodity is. It is easy for our minds to drift away from what we re reading, causing us to lose comprehension of the book. When working with children, it is important for them to comprehend the books they read. Although a child may say a book was good or they liked that particular book, did they fully comprehend what they read? To be certain whether children comprehend what they are reading, teachers use retellings in order to evaluate their reading performance. Retellings are truly the reader s creation of meaning. A retelling is a way of assessing and evaluating students memories, reactions, and understandings of their reading (2000). These activities are important because it is a way of evaluating the quality of students comprehension. When teachers evaluate students retelling, they are measuring the reader s construction of meaning. During these evaluations, teachers are looking to see if students cite specific story elements from the text, such as the characters, plot, setting, resolution, and theme, if their retelling was sequential (beginning, middle, and end), if the student made inferences to fill in the missing information, and if they are making connections to the story. Teachers also evaluate whether the student omitted any information, such as main ideas, details to support main ideas, evidence of inferential thinking, and key vocabulary to understanding ... The project manager identifies and select the discrete processes to meet the project objective and target, considering the constituting inputs and outputs for the process (Project Management Institute, 2013). The project manager should be perceptive, well informed and should show keenness to the project for its timely delivery, under the targeted cost, reliable and durable quality, as projects are financial investments and a successful project gains the trust of client (Heerkens, 2014). The project manager is required to perform better than the past, which would be achieved by learning by doing. The project manager will not be able to complete the project without a team. The project manager should make a team and take all the responsibility like a team leader for the successful delivery of the project (Heerkens, 2014). Before starting the project, the project manager should breakdown the project into measurable tasks, inter linking the tasks, allocating time to each task, assigning tools, techniques, human resources to each tasks for its successful completion (Tinnirello, 1999). 2.The project management processes consists of discrete and identifiable elements, and activities. However, there have been four fundamental developments that have occurred in the last forty five years (Lee, et al., 1996): The increased time spent within indoor environments. The increased dependency on artificial products (building materials and finishes, scents, furniture). The increased occupancy density (open plan offices, reduction of working space). A great example of this was the Asus ROG Strix RX 580 which before June of 2017, cost about around the $300 price tag. On June 6th, 2017 it hit its highest price and topped at an astonishing $849.99. This was because of the massive demand for graphics cards and this caused a shortage that has just recently started to relax as more graphics cards can be found on the market for more reasonable prices. Ayn Rand has changed and manipulated the definition of Anthem. Anthem by Ayn Rand tells the story of a street sweeper named Equality 7 2521 that discovers individualism in a collectivist society where individualism is strongly discouraged. Throughout the novel, Anthem conveys themes of governmental monopoly and the loss of individual identity. These researches have been done by popular theorists four of whom are Piaget (1896 1980), Vygotsky (1896 1934), Ausubel (1918 2008) and Kohlberg (1927 1987). First and foremost let me define the term theory. A theory is a collection of related statements; the principal function of which is to summarize and explain observations. It is in a sense an invention designed to make sense of what we know or suspect. Developmental theory on the other hand is a systematic statement of principles and generalizations that provides a coherent framework for understanding how and why people change as they grow older. Expanding considerably upon this groundwork, it was determined that the process of moral development was principally concerned with justice and that its development continued throughout the lifespan, even spawning dialogue of philosophical implications of such research. We went to Roaring Springs (On June 18th) which was like the Dollarama version of Hurricane Harbor in Six Flags, where we celebrated his birthday. There were about fourteen or fifteen of us, me, my Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt s, Uncle s, Cousin s, and a few friends. We were all very anxious about what s to come and how we re going to handle an exclusive time with people we care for. We were in the car and my little cousin was extremely annoying, so I almost threw him out the window, but I didn t because it was tremendously scorching, which leads to the reason on why we went to the Water Park. We got to the parking lot and the vision of the Water Park didn t exceed with my expectations because I thought it would be much bigger. The only thing that ruined it for me is my cousin peed on the side of my aunt s tire and I bolted to the entrance, so I couldn t see. There were fifteen tickets and it took about an hour because the scanner wasn t working and it kept shutting off after each ticket. Luckily, I was first, so I just went through not caring about anyone or anything and got our seats. At first, we sang Happy Birthday to my cousin the traditional way, before we went out and had fun. My cousin got a few, but not a lot of presents. He got a Black History Month, Golden State Warriors shirt with a big NBA logo on the back. He also got a mini hoop that he hung on the door after our trip. Another one of his gifts was from one of his closest friends I m pretty sure, which was a Golden State Warriors plush blanket. His last gift was from us which was Under Armour shorts and thirty five dollars as well. My family and his family ordered food burgers, fries, chicken, and tater tots which were surprisingly pretty good. The tots were fresh out of the oven salted and peppered up to perfection. They had Sriracha, which was one of my favorite spicy sauces which I dipped the tots in and I almost passed out because it was so deliciously spicy. • 31. Religion In The Pardoner s Tale Throughout The Canterbury Tales religious figures are represented with character traits that are completely different from what would be traditionally expected. One main cause behind this was because Europe was ruled, mostly, by the Catholic Church which caused many people to suffer from poverty and wealth while the church was building extravagant cathedrals. The overwhelming difference between the suffering of the people and the wealth of the church caused Chaucer to show many of his characters as deceitful and greedy. Multiple examples of this can be found throughout The Canterbury Taleslike; the Summoner from the The Friar s Tale and Death from the The Pardoner s Tale. During Chaucer s life a summoner was a church official who would bring people that have been accused of violating the laws set by the church to court, which was also set up by the church. In The Friar s Tale there is a deceitful summoner who pressures people into giving bribing him, so they won t have to go to court, by using his position in the church. Many people who make great achievements in architecture, Howard Burns, Francis Ching et al., Andrea Palladio and Rudolf Wittkower, have all written some words in their books about it. They describe some same characteristics but for different purpose. Symmetrical structure is the most obvious feature of the Villa Rotonda, and all four experts works involve it. Burns, professor in architectural history, look at this villa on a macroscopic level, and he ascribes its symmetry to the influence by Alberti, Raphael and Giulio. As a forerunner in villa design, Alberti puts forward an idea, in De re aedificatoria, that a villa should have a central court or hall, and pedimented portico. All these elements can be found in the Villa Rotonda. Raphael s the Villa Madama becomes a reference when Palladio begins his design. Wittkower, an art historian specializing in Italian Renaissance and Baroque art and architecture , describe Palladio s works as his experiments. He says that Renaissance architects always regarded symmetry as a theoretical requirement in design . Wittkower also mentions that Palladio has already taken lots of studies on the basic geometric pattern of villa before he designs the Villa Rotonda. • 37. Social Determinants Of Health May Influence The Burden Of... 1. a. Social determinants of health may influence the burden of disease on global health in many ways. There are major differences in the leading causes of death between low income, middle income, and high income countries (Moss, 2015). These differences are the result of the varied level of wealth, access to healthcare and clean water, knowledge of health care needs, and the countries ability to provide adequate health care to their citizens. Therefore, certain diseases are more prevalent in poor countries versus wealthy countries (Moss, 2015). For example, HIV/AIDS, Malaria, and tuberculosis are major killers in low income countries. Moreover, some preventable diseases are also prevalent in the low income countries, such as lower respiratory infections, diarrheal disease, premature and low weight births, and neonatal infections (Moss, 2015). Infectious diseases remain the leading causes of death among the middle income countries. At older age, the leading causes of death changes to non communicable chronic diseases, such as heart disease, stroke, and cancer. This corresponds to the leading causes of death among high income countries (Moss, 2015). Therefore, high income countries spend a significant amount of their GDP on chronic non communicable diseases while low income countries spend a significant amount of their GDP on communicable diseases, such as HIV, Malaria, and Tuberculosis (Moss, 2015). b. The standard calibration curve for Zolmitriptan was assembled by using the analyte/IS peak area ratios versus the concentrations of the analytes (100). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Zolmitriptan was extracted by protein precipitation method. The plasma samples were firstly permited to thaw at room temperature. The sample preparation involves the following: 100 Вµl internal standard of Sumatriptan at a concentration of 500 ng/mL was added to 0.5 ml serum sample in a glass tube , the drug was extracted by the same method mentioned previously. 2.3.11.7 Pharmacokinetic Data Analysis Pharmacokinetic parameters, including half life t1/2 (h) was calculated as 0.693/Kelim.. The maximum drug concentration (Cmax, ng/ml) and the time to reach Cmax (Tmax, h) were got from the individual plasma concentration time curves. The area under the curve AUC0 12 (ng h/ml) was calculated as the area under the plasma concentration time curve up to the final measured sampling time and calculated by the linear trapezoidal rule ( 101) ... • 46. Legalization Of Polygamy In The United States In today s developing world it is common for people to desire and be affectionate with more than one spouse. It seems difficult for one person, man or woman to commit to being with one spouse, therefore the divorce rates are increasing every day. The question remains whether this act should be legalized or not. Polygamy is having more than one spouse. There are different types of polygamy; these include polygamy where a man has multiple wives, polyandry in which a woman has multiple husbands, and group marriage where a family consists of multiple husbands and wives. Polygamy is definitely the most popular of the three listed. In the United States the practice of any form of polygamy is illegal and due to this law, many adherents of the lifestyle stays hidden. My perspective of polygamy is that having more than one spouse should remain illegal because marriage means committing to one person alone. Having more than one spouse can cause many issues for the family. Financial issues, lack of attention and affection to the other wives, one of the wives may feel like the husband is giving more attention ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Polygamy brings many problems in a family life, but some people support it because it doesn t conflict with religion. In my opinion, polygamy should not be legalized. By not legalizing polygamy in the United States is a great way to save families from suffering. Polygamy doesn t only give a bad effect for the wives but for the children s psychology. Polygamy can also encourage the idea that women are considered objects that men can own. Eventually, this can lead to abuse and other issues that no one should ever have to deal with. These relationships will cause hatred, jealousy, depressed, and an emotional burden among the family members. Therefore, polygamous marriage is not a right thing to do. It just causes more problems, women, and children suffer from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. Argument Essay On Texting While Driving Texting while driving is a controversial subject. The vast majority of people feel that texting while driving should be illegal. Most people also feel that legal actions need to take place to stop this behavior. However, I m part of the small majority that disagrees with the main point of view. I believe that texting while driving shouldn t be illegal and that states that have made it illegal need to repeal those laws. Texting while driving isn t the true problem. The true problem is that people get distracted easily. So I believe that making texting while driving illegal doesn t even solve the problem. Another reason why it shouldn t be illegal is that people don t follow laws as it is, and this can cause even more problems. Texting while driving should be the driver s choice, not the government s choice. While those who think that the law that bans texting while driving will solve the problem, I believe that it will only worsen the problem. The people who choose to follow the law most likely don t care about texting and driving. So they probably wouldn t text and drive even if it isn t a law. However, those who are addicted to texting and driving will not stop just because a law is passed. In past events where similar situations have occurred, it has only backfired on our government and society. This situation I m talking about is making certain drugs illegal. The government made drugs illegal believing it was going to help solve the crime rate, solve social problems, health, and hygiene. This clearly did not go as planned. It ended up creating gangs, private selling of different types of drugs, and crime rates increasing. I do agree that texting and driving is dangerous. However, I believe that texting and driving laws make the problem worse. People who still text and drive have to hide their phones lower on their laps than they normally would because it is illegal to text and drive. Since they have to put their phones lower on their lap, their reaction time increases. In some cases passing a law solves the problem, but in other cases , like texting while driving and making certain drugs illegal, the problem can possibly become worse. The reason why texting and driving is so dangerous isn t because of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
