This document provides instructions for students to set up an educational blog on edublogs.org and use it to post summaries of podcast stories from the website onthemedia.org. Students are told to create an edublogs account, designing their blog which will be used for multiple assignments throughout the year. They are then instructed to access onthemedia.org, listen to or read three podcast stories, and note the title and date. Back on their blog, students should make a new post giving the title "Onthemedia" and summarizing each story in 3-4 sentences along with their own commentary of similar length.

1. Blog Project #1<br />Part I<br />Access the website http://edublogs.org/signup-7b/<br />Create an account. You do not need an email address, but you must write down your username and password in your agenda. You will not be able to reset your password.<br />Click on dashboard and design your blog. We will use this blog for multiple assignments throughout the year. <br />Part II<br />Access the website http://www.onthemedia.org/<br />Choose three stories and listen to the podcasts or access the transcript and read the story.<br />Make sure to note the title of the podcast and the date you listened to it. <br />Login to your blog<br />Click on dashboard<br />Click on posts add new<br />Give the post a title – Onthemedia. In the post, write the title of the story and a summary of the story. Summary requires the main idea, and three important points. Do not write every detail.
