My Action Plan
I will challenge high school students to build a "toolbelt" of technological tools to overcome difficulties and incorporate resources/programs/tools learned into lessons. I will meet with teachers to advocate for students to use these tools in class and for representing knowledge. I could offer professional development to staff and lunchtime workshops for students to share what I learned beyond my own classroom. The free text-to-speech add-ons, hidden features in MS Word like auto-summarize, Kurzweil 3000 with its supportive tools, and Wikipedia Simple will make a big difference and help students with reading demands. My biggest realization was enjoying tools like Animoto and Voki for making multimedia presentations.
