2. About Quizlet
Although Quizlet has been around for 10 years, but they continue to add
features and progress with the times and advance their technology.
It was founded by Andrew Sutherland who wanted to create a way to
share his tools for studying with his friends.
This is a global online resource that allows more than 30 million people
learn from others in 130 different countries. There is something for
everyone as this website contains over 200 million study sets. Quizlet
can be access from their website, in the classroom, and on Apple and
Android products.
3. Quizlet’s Mission
To help students master and creatively study what is being taught.

4. Signing Up
Signing up is easy! You can use Google, Facebook, or even your email.
You can use it for free as both an instructor or a student but more
features are available for a fee.
5. Technological and Personal Implications – For
Students
You can use Quizlet almost anywhere which is a huge benefit for some
students and why I believe their technology is a great selection for this
assignment. I believe Quizlet is meeting the
needs of its users by allowing them to access
their material from their phones, computers, and
tablets. Sometimes getting to a computer is not
always convenient but now most people own a
phone and/or a tablet/IPad. Studying on the
app would increase the likelihood a student
would study more or at the very least more
frequently no matter how packed their schedule
may be.
6. How to Use Quizlet for Online Instruction
Quizlet allows instructors to engage students both in and out of the
classroom through games, interactive material, and learning activities.
Instructors can create their own study sets, use existing study sets, and
play Quizlet Live. When instructors use study sets they can help their
student effectively study and see the students’ progress.
There are always vocabulary words instructors want their students to
learn and with Quizlet I can create my Microsoft Excel Basics 101 study
set as well as create a diagram of the ribbon to pair with the study set.
When teaching in multiple classrooms I can invite students to their
specific classroom.

7. Creating a Study Set
This is very simple and easy to do. Type in your terms and the
corresponding definitions.
8. Exploring and Creating Diagrams
As the instructor you can select an existing diagram or create your own.
This gives you as the instructor the opportunity to add levels of
customization to their classroom material.
9. Future Implications and Developments
Using Quizlet will allow me offer students a new way to study besides
reading a book or taking notes. While I don’t see anything wrong with
either method some people are visual learners. Although, I prefer the
pen and paper method the newer generations would be more
comfortable having an opportunity to still study/practice using their
phone, IPad, tablet, and/or computers. The most important part of
education is learning and retention for the students. I believe Quizlet will
continue to grow with the times and become more technologically savvy.
Many schools can pair this with Blackboard or their online software
program.

11. Implication for the Instructor
Often times collaboration has been mentioned in this course and how
working with other instructors can help guide lesson planning. This
website has so many credible instructors writing for the company as well
as using the information that this would be a great tool to save some
time. As long as the information is factual and lines up with my lesson
plans I believe I can use existing study sets.
