BIODIVERSITY
GENE DIVERSITY
• Gene diversity is the variation of genetic
differences or arrangements of a species.
• Gene diversity can occur naturally by
sexual reproduction or artificially by
hybridization done by human.
• Example: difference in color of puring,
difference in color of an Angora cat’s fur.
SPECIES DIVERSITY
• Species diversity is Difference between
species of living things that inhabit a
particular habitat.
• Species diversity is found on certain region
where group of organism of different
species live together.
• Example: difference of cat, lion, and tiger;
various of beans.
ECOSYSTEM DIVERSITY
• Ecosystem diversity is interactions between
different environmental conditions with the
group of biotic factors
• Example: rain forest, taiga, dessert, coral
reef, pond, river.
Rain forest ecosystem
Desert ecosystem
Coral reef ecosystem
Savanna ecosystem
ENDANGERED SPECIES
• Endangered species is species which has
lowest population in the world
• Example: java rhinoceros, java bull, orang
utan, java eagle, egret, estuary crocodile,
etc.
• Factor caused one named species
endangered:
1. Broken ecosystem caused Illegal logging,
pollution
2. Change of climate
3. Low viability
4. Low reproduction
Methods of protecting endangered species :
1. Conservation
2. Cloning
