My Two Diverse Aspects Of Bullying And Ringette
For someone who has gone through quite a bit, bullying and ringette have been my two biggest
aspects in my life. Up until grade ten I went to school in Charlottetown. I was the description of a
loner until grade 4 when my teacher decided to place me with a group of girls she thought I d be
good with. In my opinion, these girls were like god, I worshipped them I followed them around
like a lost puppy, after a while the girls saw that and then they became my bullies. My familyand I
were put through torture for six years. After a period of time, it got so bad that I started faking
sick just so I wouldn t have to go to school. Every day I feared that I would be hurt either mentally
or physically by these girls. When I started playing ringette

Essay on History Of Cajun Cuisine
History of Cajun Cuisine Cajun cuisine is a fusion of food from different regions with very rich
histories, such as France, Canada, and the southern U.S. It was originated by peasants of French
ancestry. These immigrants settled in the Acadian region of the Bay of Fundy in Nova Scotia
from 1604 to 1654. By 1755, the population of these settlers had grown to about 15,000. They
survived on cereal crops such as wheat, barley and oats, and garden vegetables including field peas,
cabbage, and turnips. This diet was supplemented by domestic livestock, wild game, and fish.
(History of the Cajuns. (2001). www.terrebonneparish.com) Because of increased tensions between

The prairie was ideally suited for cattle, and successful ranches were soon established in this
region, providing New Orleans and the surrounding area with much desired beef. A dual class
system emerged with the Acadian settlers, dividing Acadians into the small elite planter class, and
the working class farmers; a minor intermediate, middle class existed as well. The elite planters
soon adopted slavery, farming large tracts of land. They became successful in farming cotton by the
early eighteenth century, which was replaced with sugar by the mid eighteenth century, and rice
shortly thereafter. The planters identified with the Creoles, a more wealthy and educated class than
the emerging Cajun culture. As farm land became more valued with the profits of cotton in the
early part of the nineteenth century, the poorer Acadians in the river valley were forced to sell
their land and move into the less desirable unclaimed swamp area. Swamp life was difficult and
isolated, but did provide the emigrants with a generous supply of foodstuffs that added to the
unique diet of Cajuns. (Cajun Country. (2003). www.cs.wisc.edu) In both wetland and prairie
Cajun homes, kitchens were simple and practical. Kitchen cookware consisted simply of a cast
iron kettle suspended over a hearth; and a few families had a cast iron frying pan. Subsistence
farming and hunting produced such mainstay foods as corn, potatoes, sweet potatoes, beans,
squash, okra, and rice.

Combustion Paraffin Lab
This lab was not very fun, but it helped in learning the information. After this lab I learned how to
find the heat gained/lost and I also learned how to calculate the heat of combustion of the candle
and the molar heat of combustion of paraffin. Going into this lab I had no idea what these terms
meant. After research, I discovered that heat of combustion is the amount of energy released in
burning completely one mole of substance. My hypothesis heading into this experiment was that
the closer the flame was to the aluminum can, the higher the temperature/heat would be. This
concept is pretty self explanatory because fires are very hot and so if you put any object near a
flame, the object will start to heat up. Setting up/completing this lab

The For A Jubilee During The Sizzling Summer Months
As the calm brackish waters lapse onto the shores of Point Clear to Daphne, many people are
hopeful for a Jubilee during the sizzling summer months. The neighbors of this community always
alert one another to the sound of bells ringing and the eager cries of Jubilee! Everyone will come
rushing down to the shore with their laundry baskets, gigs, nets, sacks, and almost anything you can
imagine in order to gather an abundant supply of seafood. This natural phenomenon has only been
known to occur regularly in Mobile, Alabama, and also across the world in Tokyo, Japan, which
testifies to its rarity. A Jubilee occurs when coincidental conditions in the bay result in
disoriented deep sea animals such as flounders, shrimps, crabs, and other sea creature are driven
to the shallow waters and into the nets of Mobile fishermen. The term Jubilee is often defined as
A season of rejoice. The term seems to be so positive; however, this event could potentially be
harmful to the fish. Let us first begin with the history of Jubilees. Records of the events have been
recorded in early newspapers and by memory of a few old timers. According to the article Extensive
OxygenDepletion in Mobile Bay, Alabama written by Edwin B. May, it is difficult to search for
records of these incidents because the term Jubilee was not applied to this natural phenomenon
until the early 1900s. The earliest account of a Jubilee was found in The Daily Register in Mobile
on July 17, 1876; however, even then

Introduction
Public Relations as a profession first gained its presence in China in 1980s, by western concepts and
industrial practices being introduced from several international agencies which entered into this
uncultured market at the earliest (Hugh M. Culbertson Ni Chen, 1996). The emerging industry had
shown its huge potential in an increasingly healthier environment due to the policies of reform and
opening up and the development of market economy (Ni Chen, 2009).

An Analysisi of Guy de Maupassants the Necklace Essay
Guy de Maupassant s quot;The Necklace quot;
During the course of Guy de Maupassant s short story quot; The Necklace, quot; the main character,
Matilda Loisel, makes a number of ironic discoveries. In addition, there are other discoveries that
the reader makes but Matilda does not. The discovery that forms the story s climax concerns the
true nature of the necklace she has borrowed from her friend Mrs. Forestier. But this is perhaps not
the most important lesson of this story.
As the story opens, Matilda, a young middle class wife who aspires to join the upper ranks of
society, is finally invited to a high society affair given by her husband s employer. Hoping to
impress her guests and thus quot;fit in quot;, she borrows a beautiful ... Show more content on

Now comes the task of paying back all the money that the Loisels have borrowed. In order to do
so, quot;they sent away the maid; they changed their lodgings; they rented some rooms under a
mansard roof. quot; A mansard roof is very steeply pitched, so that it is possible to have living
quarters beneath it; by implication, living quot;under a mansard roof quot; means they live in
the attic. No longer is Matilda able to send her laundry out to be cleaned, or employ someone to
wash the dishes and care for the house. Because houses in those days had no running water, she
has to haul the water up the stairs to the attic herself. Her husband is forced to take on a second
and even a third job. They are conscientious and hard working, however, and by the end of ten
years they have repaid every creditor.
But at what a cost! Matilda is no longer lovely and refined; she now looks old, haggard, and
common. When she meets Mrs. Forestier in the street, her friend does not even recognize her. The
story ends with Mrs. Forestier s revelation that the stones in the original necklace weren t even
really diamonds they were

A Streetcar Named Desire By Blanche Dubois
The character of Blanche Dubois in the play A Streetcar Named Desire is depicted as a victim of
her traditional southern upbringing, she struggles to find her place in society where the values of
a Southern Belle are no longer relevant nor exist. Blanche Dubois is portrayed as the weaker sex,
who is then over powered by Stanley Kowalski, her sister s working class husband. Blanche Dubois
shows a great psychological instability when she is unable to live up to the expectations of a classic
and proper Southern Belle. This psychological instability ultimately leads to her to have a metal
breakdown, the play ends with Blanche being committed to a mental institution.
Blanche Dubois was raised on the social standard of Southern Belle and her primary goal in life
was, according to Southern tradition, was to seek the security of marriage. Unfortunately, she
chooses suitors who are not the best companions. Blanche marries Allan Grey for love at a very
young age only to find her dreams shattered by her husband s infidelity with another man.
Blanche displays deep seated psychological instability when she is unable to live up to her
expectations as a properly raised Southern belle and also by Stanley s brutally raping of her, which
was to exert his domination over a female victim.
To understand Blanch Dubois mental state, we must understand the ideology of the Southern Belle.
Southern belles were raised as sheltered, beautiful, and chaste daughters to become idyllically

The Subculture of N.A is a life outside of any expectations formed by the main Cultural

has values, traditions, beliefs, sanctions and roles. This is the only outside influence in my life
that made me develop meaning to my life again. I was a complete and total crack addict who
finally hit the bottom of the barrel and started looking for a way to climb out of the grave I dug

The N.A. also has norms although informal norms and positive sanctions. For example, if a
member of the group strays from the steps and relapses instead of punishment we show them extra
love and compassion to get them through their time of need. This is also a form of folkways.
There are certain types of conduct which we should follow. If a Group member is sharing we don t
butt in or comment until they are done.
This group also has Mores to some extent. Many of our members are here because they were
ordered by the court. If these people don t attend and get there court sheet signed by the group
leader they can be sanctioned in a negative way. They may get ordered jail time or even be
ordered into a rehab facility. These are the formal norms.
Everything about this subculture is different from the dominant culture. We have special beliefs and
goals that we struggle to accomplish everyday of our lives as where the dominant culture doesn t
have a constant battle to stay sober. The membership process is so easy for addicts. All you have
to do is show up for a meeting. Everyone is welcome, every race, nationality, men women and
children. The only thing you need to be is an addict. That ranges from marijuana to heroin and
everything in between.

Essay about Martha Graham
Martha Graham
Generation after generation, in different countries of the world there has always been different
styles of body expression. Dance is a special form of art which movement of the body creates.
One of the most delicate types of dance, which evokes emotion, is ballet. For Martha Graham,
ballet was not only a dance: it was a way to express a fear or happiness with gestures created by
the body. Graham was recognized as having made revolutionary changes in dance: in form, subject
matter, in the analysis and examination of her themes. She was an influential American dancer,
teacher, and choreographer of modern dance. Graham gave modern dance a new depth and forceful
expression of emotion. Dr. Graham s technique is very ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Martha knew that practice was the basis and therefore, a fundamental for a good dancer. Graham
s intense belief in practice aided in forming such a unique technique. To practice means to
perform, in the face of all obstacles, some act of vision, of faith, of desire, Practice is a mean of
inviting the perfection desired. It is said that Martha worked on her falls for fifty years, and they
grew more beautiful and complex each time she performed them. This technique is not the only
one she worked to perfection. Graham was born in Allegheny, Pennsylvania, on May 11, 1894.
She was the oldest of three daughters. She also had a brother named William Henry Graham; he
died of scarlet fever at eighteen months. This was devastating for the family especially for
Martha s father. He always wanted a son; once they were blessed with one he was no sooner
taking away from them. Her family settled in Santa Barbara, California in 1908. This is where
Martha discovered the rhythm of the sea, and her love for art began. Throughout her career, her
choreography demonstrates this influence. Her professional career began in 1916 at the Denishawn
School in Los Angeles. The pioneers of modern dance Ruth St. Denis and Ted Shawn founded this
school of dance. Denishawn was the first in America, to explore all of folk, classical, experimental,
oriental, and American. It is here where; Graham learned to discard

Refugee Process Supports Reintegration Chances For...
Refugee resettlement process supports reintegration chances for refugees and asylum seeker and it
gives an approach to a sustainable peace building through their empowerment. There some benefits
but despite those things resettlement practices has some challenges as well for refugees and host
both countries.
Resettlement policy and practices can be analyzed by different context and perspective. In the
United States, resettlement policy has become a humanitarian issue which related to human rights
and social justice. USCIS has been playing an important role in identifying the refugees documents
and supporting them to make legal person in USA.
Capps, R., Newland, K. (2015) have discussed that refugee resettlement policy in a different host
country like USA from different perspectives for example how to address the primarily pre and
post migration issue is different. In this seminal work the author has discussed the increasing
diversity of large USA, refugee populations may be making it more challenging for both
resettlement agencies and local communities to meet refugee s needs. Furthermore, it also
discussed that the origins of refugees are increasingly diverse. This source can be very helpful to
conceptualize our basic framework.

Terre Haute lies in an area described as a humid, subtropical climate, a Cfa on the Koppen Letter
Code System. This area is a mild, mid latitude climate characterized by warm to hot summers,
precipitation with a summer maximum, and mild winter temperatures. Both Berkeley and Terre
Haute lie within relatively the same latitudes, however, Berkeley lies in an area stabilized by the
poleward migration of the subtropical high and relatively cool water of the Pacific Ocean (Hess,
2013). This brings dry weather to Berkeley. Terre Haute, however, does not benefit from this
stability, and continues to experience precipitation throughout the summer months. In the areas of
the Eastern United States, this effect is also contributed to by the influence of tropical cyclones.
Berkeley, according to www.usclimatedata.com, has its highest precipitation levels during
December thru February, which is typical of Csa climates (Hess, 2013). This peak of rainfall that
is unbalanced with a typical increase of water demand during summer greatly stresses the water
budget, and can result in a sever water deficit during summer months. Californians struggled with
this through the summer of 2014, and according to an article by National Geographic, California
will struggle with a water deficit of the amount necessary to provide water to 1.5 million homes.
This is not only due to the climate of the region, but as it specifically applies to Berkeley,

Literary Analysis of “Everything That Rises Must Converge”
Literary Analysis of Everything That Rises Must Converge Flannery O Connor s short story
Everything That Rises Must Converge is about racial judgment in the south in the 1960 s. O
Conors main focus in this story is how the white middle class viewed and treated people from
different races in the 1960 s. The story is an example of irony, redemption as well as a struggle of
identity among the characters. The main characters in O Connor s story are Julian an aspiring

Which is the reason he is so hateful to his mother when it comes to the subject of race, he feels like
he is better and smarter then her, even when some of her motives are pure and not meant to
come off as racist or hateful. He brings up the fact that he believes that he is too intelligent to be
a success which shows how truly high he views himself. We see irony throughout this story the
main example of Irony comes from Julian s view of himself. Julian shows anger and disproof of
his mother throughout the whole story, eve though he may be just as judgmental as his mother,
but because he thinks he accepts them he still feels better about himself. His mother talks about
how she had gotten him through college, and straightened his teeth to make sacrifices for him;
but Julian doesn t see that the same way. He s mother see s him as successful, and in all honesty
he is not. He sells typewriters so he is just a common worker nothing high and powerful. He
continuously imagines himself in his families old mansion, but still more accepting then his
family. He mentions that he has a first rate education at a third rate college which shows how he
clearly wasn t superior due to his schooling. He wasn t a professional at all. Julian fails many times
at proving his superiority too his mother. We see this when he attempts to try and make friends with

The Bickerstaff Paper
The Bickerstaff papers begins sometime in 1708, were an almanac, almanac at the time were
arguably the most popular forms of literature. What the almanacs did was predict future events by
Astrologers, usually the upcoming year. The Bickerstaff papers were, in my opinion, the most
difficult to comprehend and interepert. Nevertheless, after careful reading and obtaining
background information in lecture, we can begin to notice just how humorous it is. Isaac
Bickerstaff was the alias of Jonathan Swift. Swift being frustrated that Partridge s attacks upon the
church, decided he would attempt to not only mock but also discredit the Astrologer. Therefore,
eventually forcing Partridge to no longer publish his almanac. Furthermore, what makes these
papers so amusing is the fact that Swift or Bickerstaff, in this case, made an almanac of himself.
Where he predicted the death of Partridge. Predicting the exact time and place of his passing. The
prediction was that Partridge would die at exactly 11 p.m. on March 29th of that year. This
prediction shocked most Londoners. As a result of the fall out. Partridge immediately replied with

Existentialism In Catcher In The Rye
At least once in someone s lifetime, a rocky phase filled with tasks and barriers that are challenging
to overcome will occur. In fact, if one has to fulfill these said duties in such ways that it ends up
becoming a regular routine, one might start to question the meaning of life. Isolation, feeling lonely,
or believing that regulations set by higher authorities are controlling one s individuality connect
with a concept known as existentialism. In J.D Salinger s novel, The Catcher in the Rye, it is
evident that Holden is against societal norms and he cannot form relationships with his peers due to
his peculiar attitude. As Holden is frequently mean spirited, this prevents him from fitting in.
Hence, examining the way Holden interacts with others reveals that Salinger purposely wrote this
novel with the intention of clarifying the concept of alienation by making Holden express his anti
social behavior to the readers through a first person narrative. Salinger expresses Holden s
alienation since his thoughts that he shares are melancholic, how he constantly tries forming
relationships within age groups that are vastly different from his, and the fact that others are
infuriated/uninterested with his conversations. What is perhaps the most symbolic aspect of
Holden s alienation are his own actions and thoughts shown to the audience. Obviously, when
intrusive thoughts affect an individual, it most likely links with isolation; this is what Holden
exactly experiences. Throughout

Ethnography Research Papers
Our Ethnography Research is how student s religious views affect their political views from a
standpoint of three different religions. Since we live in a college town, we decided the
appropriate demographic should be a college student between the age of 18 and 21. I got to
interview a close friend of mine, Danny. Danny is a sophomore at Oregon State University and he
describes himself as a Seventh Day Adventist, which is a smaller branch of Christianity and as a
Democrat. I got to ask him many questions that one would not usually get asked, which made the
interview fairly difficult, but I got to meet an entirely new friend.
The first question is, What do you feel shapes your view on pro choice / pro life? His response was
pro life because of his religion. Danny believes that he is pro life because his parents raised him to
accept every blessing as a gift from God. Along with that he reckons that a parent that aborts their
child should receive a considerable punishment. If the parents do not want to keep the child they
should give it up for adoption instead of aborting a gift from God. As a Christian ... Show more

The Tea Of Tea Ceremony
Chanoyu, in Japanese is commonly known as a tea ceremony in English focuses on self discipline
and refinement of oneself. The tea ceremony symbolizes the ideals of harmony, respect, purity, and
tranquility through preparing for the hosts and drinking tea for the guests. During tea ceremonies,
the hosts creates a once in a lifetime ambiance for the guest something that is within the moment
and is unforgettable. The host prepares the teausing high grade matcha, in hopes to make a
satisfying bowl of tea for the guest. The way of tea is heartwarming and respected amongst the host

The use of ceremonial matcha green tea and the spread of Chanoyu came from the Genroku epoch
Tokugawa period. Traditions must be met when performing tea ceremonies because it is a craft
symbolism and abstractness lies within chanoyu (Garett Berriault, 2005). Matcha green tea is the
powder used in these tea ceremonies, it must be high grade matcha in order to pass tea ceremonies.
Creating high standards for this tea ceremony ensures the quality that hosts must obtain when
performing this respected tradition. Matcha powder came from the Eisai or Tosai in early
Kamakura period and was transmitted from China but then evolved to chanoyu (tea ceremony) in
Japan. During the postwar era in Japan, non dominant social groups belonged to women (Chan,
2017). Since roles in tea ceremonies were open to the idea of integrating whoever wanted to
participate or wanted to become a host during the era, the non dominant social groups that belonged
to women joined in. With the integration being in place, this gave women in Japan the opportunity
to become hosts to stand with samurais, in a patriarchal country. Given this opportunity, the women
found power in tea ceremonies. This sparked the women s empowerment movement in postwar
Japan because they were being looked upon as if they were equal and integrated within the
community, they were no longer looked at as homemakers and housewives that belonged in the
household (Kato, 2012). Chanoyu defined women s power

Hamlet Asymmetrical Warfare Essay
Shakespeare in Hamlet wrote, by indirection finds direction out. Although used in a different, the
quote directly relates to the principle of asymmetric warfare. Andrew J. Mack first used a name
for this tactic of war in his 1975 book, Why Big Nations Lose Small Wars. Asymmetric simply
means that two sides are not the same. This type of warfare can be used between groups of people
or countries. Just like any war, the motivation can be economic, religious, or political.
Asymmetrical warfare is usually exemplified in long, drawn out wars, rather than short battles.
More small groups are turning to this idea, making the world more uncertain, unstable, and difficult
to anticipate. (Grange)

Asymmetrical warfare is an umbrella term that describes the same type of manners. The modern
pirates of Malaysia, Nigeria, and Somalia use asymmetrical warfare tactics to carry out their
robberies. Admiral Arun Prakash also sees the similarities between land terrorist that demonstrate
this type of warfare and the rise of piracy in the twenty first century. He claims as things get hotter
for the terrorists on land...its quite logical that they will move seaward. Terrorismis defined as
premeditated, politically motivated violence perpetrated against noncombat targets by subnational
groups or clandestine agents, according to the United States (Winn and Govern). The difference
right now between terrorists on land and on the sea is the amount of media recognition the land
terrorists receive compared to the pirates. The public is simply unaware of the maritime side of this
issue. Pirates demonstrate terrorism when the crews of innocent ships are killed so that the pirates
will not be caught and tried. The United States Transportation Security Administration even realizes
piracy is upon us because of their belief that the September 11th attacks could just as easily be done
through maritime means, rather than in air if a bomb pulls into a major harbor. Although pirates
and terrorists have separate motives, both demonstrate asymmetrical warfare and must be

of choosing between the two deals, the Sepsis deal is more fruitful as we receive $5 million up
front and $108 million milestone payments after the drug passes the phase 2 test in the Sepsis.
In contrast, the Diabetes deal fetches $8 million up front and $80 million milestone payment
which is too less. In addition, the potential sales for Sepsis are $0.5 billion annually compared to
$4 billion for diabetes. It is not a smart decision if we give up large portion of future proceeds

Socially Constructed Reality and Meaning in Notes from Underground
Just as the hands in M.C. Escher s Drawing Hands both create and are created by each other, the
identity of man and society are mutually interdependent. According to the model described in The
Sacred Canopy, Peter Berger believes that man externalizes or creates a social reality that is in
turn objectified, or accepted by him as real. This sociological model creates a useful framework for
understanding the narrator s rejection of ultimate reality or truth in Fyodor Dostoevsky s Notes from
Underground. The reality in which the narrator tries to live in part II, and the reality that he rejects
in part I, are both created and, as such, are ultimately meaningless. ... Show more content on

Just as the hands of Escher s illustration define each other, man and society are in a constant process
of mutual recreation.
Successful internalization is exemplified by the underground man of part II. In this section, the
narrator s actions are dominated by a desire to fulfill his socially defined roles. Often calling his
actions bookish, the underground man tries to act out traditional cultural relationships. In his
relationship with Liza the narrator sees an opportunity to fulfill the role of the hero, uplifting the
poor, wretched prostitute. He asks her about her home life and warns her about the sickness she
could catch from her occupation, all in an attempt to play the hero and save this dejected prostitute.
The manufactured hero reflects,
I began to feel what I was saying and grew excited. I d been longing to expound these cherished
little ideas that I d been nurturing in my corner. Something had caught fire in me, some kind of
goal had manifested itself before me. (Dostoevsky 65). These
cherished little ideas are the cultural norms that the underground man is trying to fulfill. The
narrator s interactions with other characters in part II reflect a desire on his part to live out
archetypical roles. When he feels insulted by the officer, the narrator clings to the romantic notion
of vindicating himself through a duel. After detailing his plan to confront the officer

The Intelligent Civil Rights Activist By Frederick Douglass
The intelligent civil rights activist Frederick Douglass was born into slavery in Maryland on
February 1818. His born given name, Frederick Augustus Washington Bailey, seemed to be a
fairytale name to an unusual life because his father was a white planation owner who was most
likely Douglass s first slave master, named Captain Anthony. Possibly it was Harriet Bailey who
gave her son Frederick such a distinguished name wishing that his life would be superior than
hers. His mother couldn t imagine that her son s life would continue to be a foundation of
awareness and motivation for all abolitionists. It would be hard to find anyone who symbolizes
the Black History Month theme, like Frederick Douglass when he fled the terrors of slavery to
relish a life of liberty and freedom, but his exceptional personal ambition to attain justice and
freedom for slaves and all Africans led him to dedicate his life to the abolition of slavery and the
crusade for civil rights. His outrageous oratory skills and unexpected achievements shaped a
legacy that leads his inspiration across the centuries, making Frederick Douglass a role model for
the rest of eternity, especially to those who saw him as savior like figure. When it comes to slave
history in America, Frederick Douglass should be the first name to pop into your head. One reason
Douglass s story remains to prosper is that his life symbolizes the American dream of overcoming
difficulties and reaching greatness. At a young age he

Adversity in Life Elicits Unknown Talents and Strength Essay
Who we really are, what our real character is only truly elicited when we are challenged, as a
proverb states, In the darkest hour shines the brightest light. Our true character shines through when
we are pushed to our extremes and are placed in situations outside of the norm. Horace claims that
when someone is faced with an adversity or a challenge, they are more likely to discover talents that
they thought they never had. I agree with his claim that adversity breeds talents and strengthens our
character, but still understand the importance of prosperity in developing talents.

The Epic Of The Ramayana Of Valmiki
The Ramayana of Valmiki is one of the great Hindu epics in literature and has greatly influenced
Indian society. According to M.V. Kamath, a veteran indian journalist The Ramayana is not just a
story: it presents India s culture, its philosophical foundation in all its variety and glory. As
Hinduism spread in South east Asia, so did the Ramayana, in countries like Indonesia, Philippines,
Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar and Malaysia. The influence of the epic poem has has
been profoundly strengthened and sanctified within domestic familial relations and its characters
are the models of which the culture yearns.
The story explores the theme of human values and virtues, and many of its characters portray ideal
figures in society. The titular character Rama, the eldest and most favored son of King Dasharatha
is portrayed as the perfect son, husband and an excellent warrior he is referred to as the best of
men on occasion and lives his life on the principle of righteousness. As a result, these qualities
have earned him the praise and respect of everyone in their kingdom, as well as the favor of the
Gods. Just as Rama is the ideal man, his wife, Sita is portrayed as the ideal woman and she is highly
devoted to her husband, confident in his abilities and obedient, she loves him unconditionally and
thinks of no other.
These are the standards that men and women are held to in many Indian cultures. However, from

The Human Immune System Of Multiple Structures
The human immune system consists of multiple structures. These structures include the following:
tonsils and adenoids, thymus, lymph nodes, spleen, appendix, lymphatic vessels, and bone marrow.
HIV involves many structures/components of the immune system, so it is important to understand
the structures and function of each involved component. Calles, Evans, and Terlonge (2010) clearly
explain the parts of the immune systemaffected by HIV.
To begin the immune system uses antigens to help fight against infection by working with
antibodies to produce an immune response (Calles, Evans, Terlonge, 2010). Furthermore, the
immune system produces lymphocytes (i.e. also known as white blood cells). There are two types
of lymphocytes produced, B cells and T cells. B cells remain in bone marrow (i.e. where B and T
cells are made) and T cells move to the thymus (Calles, Evans, Terlonge, 2010). After their
migration, T cells finish cell development, become immunocompetent, replicate, and differentiate.
There are two important functions of T cells, which include maintenance of the immune system
and destroying cells with certain antigens. There are distinct T cells which are identified by
surface markers (Calles, Evans, Terlonge, 2010). Concerning HIV, CD4+ are impacted the most.
These cells are responsible for triggering B cells and macrophages when an antigen is present
(Calles, Evans, Terlonge, 2010). Furthermore, T cells discharge cytokines, which are involved in

How Relationships Can Be Complicated, And They Do Not Come...
Relationships can be complicated, and they do not come with a learner s manual. I never thought
about the distribution of power in relationships. I assumed if I invested in the relationship, showed
empathy to my partner s needs, and was genuinely concerned with their well being, then I held
power in the relationship. The Principle of least interest put things into a new perspective for me.
The ability to communicate the affections of loveseparates us from other beings. However; love,
especially an unhealthy love, can leave us in a defenseless state. The beginning of a relationship

The extraordinary economic growth of China in the past 30 years is a miracle in many aspects.
China has the second highest GDP in the world after the United States, and it is expecting that to

there was a 142 times increase. The GDP per capita has increase 101 times as well. It has lifted
more than 500 million people out of poverty (Zhao, 2014). This economic miracle is credited to
the economic reforms that started in 1978, which in many ways, learned from the experiences of
the model of developmental state in Korea and Japan. These series of reforms put China s economy

invest in $668 million in inventory. I believe that the main reason that Dell was able to maintain
such a low level of inventory compared to their competition has a direct result of their competitive
strategy to maintain a minimum level of inventory.
From Dells perspective, there is a competitive advantage to maintaining a low level of inventory
in case of a technology change. Because they have less WIP and FG inventory, Dell is better
positioned to take advantage of quickly changing technology (processors, for example). If
technology were to reduce 30% of the inventory value, Dell would be better off with a lower
quantity of inventory which has to be written down. If the inventory were based on Compaq s
DSI number ($668m in inventory), then the write off would need to be $112 more. (30% of $668
$293). On the other hand, there are some disadvantages to having a low level of inventory on
hand, as was shown by Dell in 1996 when they indicated that sales could have been higher if they
would have had additional inventory in stock. Sometimes you might have to

In my opinion, these girls were like god, I worshipped them I followed them around like a lost puppy, after a while the girls saw that and then they became my bullies. My familyand I were put through torture for six years. After a period of time, it got so bad that I started faking sick just so I wouldn t have to go to school. • 3. Essay on History Of Cajun Cuisine History of Cajun Cuisine Cajun cuisine is a fusion of food from different regions with very rich histories, such as France, Canada, and the southern U.S. It was originated by peasants of French ancestry. These immigrants settled in the Acadian region of the Bay of Fundy in Nova Scotia from 1604 to 1654. By 1755, the population of these settlers had grown to about 15,000. They survived on cereal crops such as wheat, barley and oats, and garden vegetables including field peas, cabbage, and turnips. This diet was supplemented by domestic livestock, wild game, and fish. (History of the Cajuns. (2001). www.terrebonneparish.com) Because of increased tensions between the French settlers and the British, the Acadians were forced out of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The prairie was ideally suited for cattle, and successful ranches were soon established in this region, providing New Orleans and the surrounding area with much desired beef. A dual class system emerged with the Acadian settlers, dividing Acadians into the small elite planter class, and the working class farmers; a minor intermediate, middle class existed as well. The elite planters soon adopted slavery, farming large tracts of land. They became successful in farming cotton by the early eighteenth century, which was replaced with sugar by the mid eighteenth century, and rice shortly thereafter. The planters identified with the Creoles, a more wealthy and educated class than the emerging Cajun culture. As farm land became more valued with the profits of cotton in the early part of the nineteenth century, the poorer Acadians in the river valley were forced to sell their land and move into the less desirable unclaimed swamp area. Swamp life was difficult and isolated, but did provide the emigrants with a generous supply of foodstuffs that added to the unique diet of Cajuns. (Cajun Country. (2003). www.cs.wisc.edu) In both wetland and prairie Cajun homes, kitchens were simple and practical. Kitchen cookware consisted simply of a cast iron kettle suspended over a hearth; and a few families had a cast iron frying pan. Subsistence farming and hunting produced such mainstay foods as corn, potatoes, sweet potatoes, beans, squash, okra, and rice. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Combustion Paraffin Lab This lab was not very fun, but it helped in learning the information. After this lab I learned how to find the heat gained/lost and I also learned how to calculate the heat of combustion of the candle and the molar heat of combustion of paraffin. Going into this lab I had no idea what these terms meant. After research, I discovered that heat of combustion is the amount of energy released in burning completely one mole of substance. My hypothesis heading into this experiment was that the closer the flame was to the aluminum can, the higher the temperature/heat would be. This concept is pretty self explanatory because fires are very hot and so if you put any object near a flame, the object will start to heat up. Setting up/completing this lab ... • 5. The For A Jubilee During The Sizzling Summer Months As the calm brackish waters lapse onto the shores of Point Clear to Daphne, many people are hopeful for a Jubilee during the sizzling summer months. The neighbors of this community always alert one another to the sound of bells ringing and the eager cries of Jubilee! Everyone will come rushing down to the shore with their laundry baskets, gigs, nets, sacks, and almost anything you can imagine in order to gather an abundant supply of seafood. This natural phenomenon has only been known to occur regularly in Mobile, Alabama, and also across the world in Tokyo, Japan, which testifies to its rarity. A Jubilee occurs when coincidental conditions in the bay result in disoriented deep sea animals such as flounders, shrimps, crabs, and other sea creature are driven to the shallow waters and into the nets of Mobile fishermen. The term Jubilee is often defined as A season of rejoice. The term seems to be so positive; however, this event could potentially be harmful to the fish. Let us first begin with the history of Jubilees. Records of the events have been recorded in early newspapers and by memory of a few old timers. According to the article Extensive OxygenDepletion in Mobile Bay, Alabama written by Edwin B. May, it is difficult to search for records of these incidents because the term Jubilee was not applied to this natural phenomenon until the early 1900s. The earliest account of a Jubilee was found in The Daily Register in Mobile on July 17, 1876; however, even then ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

An Analysisi of Guy de Maupassants the Necklace Essay Guy de Maupassant s quot; The Necklace quot; During the course of Guy de Maupassant s short story quot; The Necklace, quot; the main character, Matilda Loisel, makes a number of ironic discoveries. In addition, there are other discoveries that the reader makes but Matilda does not. The discovery that forms the story s climax concerns the true nature of the necklace she has borrowed from her friend Mrs. Forestier. But this is perhaps not the most important lesson of this story. • 10. A Streetcar Named Desire By Blanche Dubois The character of Blanche Dubois in the play A Streetcar Named Desire is depicted as a victim of her traditional southern upbringing, she struggles to find her place in society where the values of a Southern Belle are no longer relevant nor exist. Blanche Dubois is portrayed as the weaker sex, who is then over powered by Stanley Kowalski, her sister s working class husband. Blanche Dubois shows a great psychological instability when she is unable to live up to the expectations of a classic and proper Southern Belle. This psychological instability ultimately leads to her to have a metal breakdown, the play ends with Blanche being committed to a mental institution. Blanche Dubois was raised on the social standard of Southern Belle and her primary goal in life was, according to Southern tradition, was to seek the security of marriage. Unfortunately, she chooses suitors who are not the best companions. Blanche marries Allan Grey for love at a very young age only to find her dreams shattered by her husband s infidelity with another man. Blanche displays deep seated psychological instability when she is unable to live up to her expectations as a properly raised Southern belle and also by Stanley s brutally raping of her, which was to exert his domination over a female victim. To understand Blanch Dubois mental state, we must understand the ideology of the Southern Belle. Dance is a special form of art which movement of the body creates. One of the most delicate types of dance, which evokes emotion, is ballet. For Martha Graham, ballet was not only a dance: it was a way to express a fear or happiness with gestures created by the body. Graham was recognized as having made revolutionary changes in dance: in form, subject matter, in the analysis and examination of her themes. She was an influential American dancer, teacher, and choreographer of modern dance. Graham gave modern dance a new depth and forceful expression of emotion. Dr. Graham s technique is very ... It is said that Martha worked on her falls for fifty years, and they grew more beautiful and complex each time she performed them. This technique is not the only one she worked to perfection. Graham was born in Allegheny, Pennsylvania, on May 11, 1894. She was the oldest of three daughters. She also had a brother named William Henry Graham; he died of scarlet fever at eighteen months. This was devastating for the family especially for Martha s father. He always wanted a son; once they were blessed with one he was no sooner taking away from them. Both Berkeley and Terre Haute lie within relatively the same latitudes, however, Berkeley lies in an area stabilized by the poleward migration of the subtropical high and relatively cool water of the Pacific Ocean (Hess, 2013). This brings dry weather to Berkeley. Terre Haute, however, does not benefit from this stability, and continues to experience precipitation throughout the summer months. In the areas of the Eastern United States, this effect is also contributed to by the influence of tropical cyclones. In fact, if one has to fulfill these said duties in such ways that it ends up becoming a regular routine, one might start to question the meaning of life. Isolation, feeling lonely, or believing that regulations set by higher authorities are controlling one s individuality connect with a concept known as existentialism. In J.D Salinger s novel, The Catcher in the Rye, it is evident that Holden is against societal norms and he cannot form relationships with his peers due to his peculiar attitude. As Holden is frequently mean spirited, this prevents him from fitting in. Hence, examining the way Holden interacts with others reveals that Salinger purposely wrote this novel with the intention of clarifying the concept of alienation by making Holden express his anti social behavior to the readers through a first person narrative. Salinger expresses Holden s alienation since his thoughts that he shares are melancholic, how he constantly tries forming relationships within age groups that are vastly different from his, and the fact that others are infuriated/uninterested with his conversations. What is perhaps the most symbolic aspect of Holden s alienation are his own actions and thoughts shown to the audience. Obviously, when intrusive thoughts affect an individual, it most likely links with isolation; this is what Holden exactly experiences. Throughout ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 27. The Intelligent Civil Rights Activist By Frederick Douglass The intelligent civil rights activist Frederick Douglass was born into slavery in Maryland on February 1818. His born given name, Frederick Augustus Washington Bailey, seemed to be a fairytale name to an unusual life because his father was a white planation owner who was most likely Douglass s first slave master, named Captain Anthony. Possibly it was Harriet Bailey who gave her son Frederick such a distinguished name wishing that his life would be superior than hers. His mother couldn t imagine that her son s life would continue to be a foundation of awareness and motivation for all abolitionists. It would be hard to find anyone who symbolizes the Black History Month theme, like Frederick Douglass when he fled the terrors of slavery to relish a life of liberty and freedom, but his exceptional personal ambition to attain justice and freedom for slaves and all Africans led him to dedicate his life to the abolition of slavery and the crusade for civil rights. His outrageous oratory skills and unexpected achievements shaped a legacy that leads his inspiration across the centuries, making Frederick Douglass a role model for the rest of eternity, especially to those who saw him as savior like figure. When it comes to slave history in America, Frederick Douglass should be the first name to pop into your head. One reason Douglass s story remains to prosper is that his life symbolizes the American dream of overcoming difficulties and reaching greatness. At a young age he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Adversity in Life Elicits Unknown Talents and Strength Essay Who we really are, what our real character is only truly elicited when we are challenged, as a proverb states, In the darkest hour shines the brightest light. Our true character shines through when we are pushed to our extremes and are placed in situations outside of the norm. I agree with his claim that adversity breeds talents and strengthens our character, but still understand the importance of prosperity in developing talents. Just five minutes into the match I came under a harsh headed tackle from an opposition player and as a result I spilt my eyebrow open. • 35. The Human Immune System Of Multiple Structures The human immune system consists of multiple structures. These structures include the following: tonsils and adenoids, thymus, lymph nodes, spleen, appendix, lymphatic vessels, and bone marrow. HIV involves many structures/components of the immune system, so it is important to understand the structures and function of each involved component. Calles, Evans, and Terlonge (2010) clearly explain the parts of the immune systemaffected by HIV. To begin the immune system uses antigens to help fight against infection by working with antibodies to produce an immune response (Calles, Evans, Terlonge, 2010). Furthermore, the immune system produces lymphocytes (i.e. also known as white blood cells). There are two types of lymphocytes produced, B cells and T cells. B cells remain in bone marrow (i.e. where B and T cells are made) and T cells move to the thymus (Calles, Evans, Terlonge, 2010). After their migration, T cells finish cell development, become immunocompetent, replicate, and differentiate. There are two important functions of T cells, which include maintenance of the immune system and destroying cells with certain antigens. There are distinct T cells which are identified by surface markers (Calles, Evans, Terlonge, 2010). Concerning HIV, CD4+ are impacted the most. These cells are responsible for triggering B cells and macrophages when an antigen is present (Calles, Evans, Terlonge, 2010). Furthermore, T cells discharge cytokines, which are involved in ... I never thought about the distribution of power in relationships. I assumed if I invested in the relationship, showed empathy to my partner s needs, and was genuinely concerned with their well being, then I held power in the relationship. The Principle of least interest put things into a new perspective for me. The ability to communicate the affections of loveseparates us from other beings. However; love, especially an unhealthy love, can leave us in a defenseless state. The beginning of a relationship is exhilarating and stimulating, but there is no reassurance or intimacy. When I put my all into a relationship and there is no effort from my partner, I have surrounded power over the relationship. I was nineteen years old, and infatuated with my now ex boyfriend. I was inexperienced with relationships, and wanted someone attentive to my needs. He awarded me with attention, and I had faith he saw something unique in myself. Reflecting back on the relationship, I realized the love I had for him was never sufficient enough. He blatantly looked at other women when we were out together. I tend to not be a jealous person, but it hurt my ego and pride when my endeavors to look nice went unnoticed. China has the second highest GDP in the world after the United States, and it is expecting that to surpass the American economy by 2025 (Zhao, 2014). Comparing the GDP of 2012 and 1978, there was a 142 times increase. The GDP per capita has increase 101 times as well. It has lifted more than 500 million people out of poverty (Zhao, 2014). This economic miracle is credited to the economic reforms that started in 1978, which in many ways, learned from the experiences of the model of developmental state in Korea and Japan. These series of reforms put China s economy back to track after the Great Leap Forward, a failed and catastrophic social and economic campaign between 1958 and 1961, and the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution, a devastating turmoil between 1966 and 1976. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Because Dell waited until they received the order from the customer to start building the computer, Dell kept the CCC (cash conversion cycle to a minimum). If Dell were to operate at Compaq s DSI level, we estimate that Dell would have to increase its 1995 inventory from $293m to $668m, which is an increase of $375 million. This would mean that Dell would have needed to invest in $668 million in inventory. I believe that the main reason that Dell was able to maintain such a low level of inventory compared to their competition has a direct result of their competitive strategy to maintain a minimum level of inventory. From Dells perspective, there is a competitive advantage to maintaining a low level of inventory in case of a technology change. Because they have less WIP and FG inventory, Dell is better positioned to take advantage of quickly changing technology (processors, for example). If technology were to reduce 30% of the inventory value, Dell would be better off with a lower quantity of inventory which has to be written down. If the inventory were based on Compaq s DSI number ($668m in inventory), then the write off would need to be $112 more. (30% of $668 $293). On the other hand, there are some disadvantages to having a low level of inventory on hand, as was shown by Dell in 1996 when they indicated that sales could have been higher if they would have had additional inventory in stock. Sometimes you might have to
