The Concealed Reality
The Concealed Reality in Eveline and A Doll s House
Hendrik Ibsan and James Joyce holds a connection between the symbols that helps the reader predict
the endings of their writing. Ibsen, a Norwegian writer, was exile to Italy and later went to Germany.
He decided to write A Doll s House in 1879 and throughout Europe it became a hit because of a
women role at the time. In addition, when he wrote his play, people disagreed with his ending so he
had to recreate an alterative end to his play. The author, James Joyce wrote Eveline whom was
inspired by Ibsen s writing and decided to write a short story based on a similar theme, where he had
to learn Norwegian to read his piece. Their use of symbolism allows for different possibilities a story

The symbols that are shown throughout the play and short story are the feelings of being trapped, her
unhappiness of not being someone better towards life, and their decision they could have taken to get
their freedom. Eveline did not know weather to decide between leaving her family or starting a new
life with Frank, while Nora was trapped in a doll house and not able to be someone more than who she
is. In the play, Nora builds up another personality where she becomes more demanding and
determined in making the decision to leave Torvald. However in the short story, Eveline can not have
the chance to change her life around because of her mother s past life is reflected on Eveline s present.
Therefore, both characters past life are affecting their future choices of being free of manipulation.
The symbolism in each of these works does foreshadow the different endings because from the
beginning of both play and short story it s visible to analyze the objects that stand out to predict the
devastating outcome as seen in both women s life. There were signs of craving to escape, but it was up
to them to determine the right decision for their

Ethics Of Organ Donation Essay
Today the demand for organ transplantation is increasing; the need has outgrown the supply and the
waiting lists are long. According to UNOS, currently 118,000 people are waiting for an organ
transplant. There are more transplant specialists, the immune rejection has improved, more transplants
are being performed than ever before and the future will demand even more.
Ethical obligations of the doctors, nature of death, allocation of organs by fairness and justice which
includes: most urgent need, organ compatibility, age of the patient, length of time on a waiting list and
who can benefit the most are the standards being studied today. The illegal black market sales are a
big ethical problem that urgently needs solutions. In an medical emergency, especially sudden death, a

Many thinkers, philosophers and lawmakers have tired to explain logic and reason driven life s big

Immanuel Kant, the 18th Century philosopher believed that moral conduct consists in following a rule

Today s policies aimed at increasing organ donation and to encourage gifting are becoming a part of
education of the younger generation, there is no mandatory organ retrieval, the family wishes, donor
consent and right to decide to donate before death are respected, selling is prohibited and organ
donation banks with lists of donors and recipients have been established. The United Network for

Playing doctor was something I enjoyed when I was a little kid. I loved caring for people, and babies

information on this career I found out the work environment, skills needed, level of education, the

A Woman Who Was A Girl
Once upon a time there was a woman who was unexpectedly pregnant. She had big brown eyes, short
hair, and her physique was slim since she lived in the gym and practiced for volleyball. Even though
the little seed in the woman s stomach was not planned, her parents were overly excited for another
child. They already had two of their own to take care of but were ready for another challenge. A
couple months into the pregnancy, they were shocked to know the child was a girl. They had two boys
before that and thought they would have another one. Her parents did not know what to name their
first daughter, but her mother thought of Alinali, which many could not pronounce one bit. On the
other hand, her father thought of something simple, like Nicole.
Every day after she was born, her parents cherished her and their other two sons. They showed
unconditional love on a daily basis and always gave an abundant number of hugs and kisses. Three
years went by when Nicole and her siblings had one more addition to the family. Sadly, things began
to change. Her parents had struggled financially and were extremely stressed. Looking for ways to
help the family, both parents worked assiduously to bring money to the table, and that is why her
mother applied for a side job at a hotel. Injuring her back at her first job, which had dealt with cars,
her mother could not work no longer, so all the responsibility was left on the father. They managed
and were still very thankful, but the mother s

The Alchemist Essay
The Alchemist is a wonderful fiction novel by Paulo Coelho. The novella, published in 1988, is a huge
success, selling over 150 million copies and making it to the top charts. (addicted2success) . Coelho
succeeds in delivering his message smoothly and innovatively throughout the story; one should
forever live to pursue his personal legend and never give up on his dream. (Coelho). The monomyth
applies to the main character of the novella, Santiago, a young Shepard with enough passion and will
to uncover his personal legend. The boy gets called to start his search for his personal legend through

Santiago makes it to Africa, where he looses all his money to a thief. He is now a strange person in a
strange land, helpless and penniless. At this point of his journey, Santiago was in real need for an
assistant to help his dream survive this challenge. Santiago starts to search for a way to get money and
luckily a crystal merchant struggling to keep his trade afloat hires him. Using omens, he brings new
ideas and enhances the merchant s business. As time passes, his dream of the treasure starts fading
away. Months go by, and the boy builds up quite a nest egg. The crystal merchant is a clear helper; he
gave Santiago a hand when he really needed it. At this stage, Santiago is once again split in choice; he
could return to Europe and double his sheep flock or try to peruse his dream again. Even though the
crystal merchant supported Santiago through his hard times, he also reflects a negative example for
the Shepard to avoid, as he is someone who gave up on his personal legend. This gives the boy an
enthusiastic push to get on a caravan and head to the pyramids. During this checkpoint, Santiago

Reaction Paper On Diuretics
1.INTRODUCTION A Diuretic is any substance that promotes the production of urine. This includes
forced diuresis. There are several categories of diuretics. All diuretics increase the excretion of water
from bodies, although each class does so in a distinct way. Alternatively, an antidiuretic such as
vasopressin, or antidiuretic hormone, is an agent or drug which reduces the excretion of water in
urine.Diuretics increase the rate of urine flow and sodium excretion and are used to adjust the volume
and/or composition of body fluids in a variety of clinical situations, including hypertension, heart
failure, renal failure, nephrotic syndrome, and cirrhosis. By definition, diuretics are drugs that increase
the rate of urine flow; however, clinically useful diuretics also increase the rate of excretion of Na+
(natriuresis) and of an accompanying anion, usually Cl . NaCl in the body is the major determinant of
extracellular fluid volume, and most clinical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Consequently, the use of diuretics as antihypertensive agents has been relatively reduced, particularly
since the newer drugs are associated with fewer adverse metabolic reactions. However, diuretics have
a specific activity of removing sodium from the body fluid, thereby rendering the blood pressure
insensitive to sodium intake, relieving the overload to systemic circulation, and normalizing the
circadian rhythm of blood pressure from a non dipper to a dipper pattern. At low doses, diuretics are
known to be as effective as all other antihypertensive agents for reducing nearly all types of
cardiovascular events. In this brief review, the indication for thiazide diuretics will be discussed based
on the pathophysiology of hypertension and antihypertensive therapy with diuretics mainly from the
point of view of sodium

Sports Are So Personal, Athletes
Normal people from all over the world can challenge themselves to become stronger, faster, and push
to work harder, sports are a means to get oneself there.. One of the nice things about sports is that each
[person] can express [themselves] at [their] own level (2) and in their own way. Because action sports
are so personal, athletes love what they do. At the end of the day extreme athletes, and those that are
physically active, feel more accomplished and they desire to get back out there again and again
because they love to explore and express themselves in their life style choices. If people never had a
desire to become more, imagine how boring the world would be; nevertheless, because of action
athletically minded people great changes are made daily. Athletes generally do have thrill seeking
personalities, says Frank Farley, a professor of psychology at Philadelphia s Temple University, who
coined the term Type T to describe such people. But many Type Ts are the opposite of reckless, Farley
says. Those who live prepare for their sports, he says. They don t want to die. They want the
challenges, the creativity, and the risky experiences. So they prepare. Type Ts do push the envelope,
not just in sports but in science and the arts, Farley says. And while some Type Ts push it in negative
ways, such as by taking drugs or committing crimes, many others are society s creators and
innovators. If we didn t have these people, we d be back in the cave, Farley

The Track And The Multi Track
System (P1)
The Tracks:
There are three tracks in the civil court system, the small claims track, the fast track and the multi
track. These three tracks were formed under the Civil Procedure Act 1997 to make it easier to deal
with cases of different complexity. The Act has put in place a series of checks to sort the cases
according to size of case, the complexity of the case and the size of the compensation asked for. This
is achieved through a questionnaire completed by the parties.
Small Claim courts:
Cases in the small claims court are heard by District judges in a county court, the court will hear
contract and tort cases up to £10,000 and personal injury claims up to £1000. The hearing is informal
and the courts discourage people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The court will set a strict timetable in order to stop time wasting and to keep costs low. Once the case
is set for a hearing, it will be heard within thirty weeks. Fixed costs will be allowed and the hearing
will be one day long.
Only one expert can be used, for example, in a case involving mechanical problems between the
manufacturer and the dealer, an engineer may be used in order to give advice on the technicality at
hand. The judge decide how much the losing party has to pay in legal fees to the winner, to decide this
both parties have to hand in a form stating how much money they have spent in legal fees in order for
the judge to decide.
Multi Track Claims:
Cases on the fast track are heard by a Circuit judge in a County court, the court will hear cases over
£25,000 (therefore it has no limit) or cases with a complex point. Cases on this track can be sent to the
High Court (Queens Bench Division, Family Division, or Chancery Division) if it contains complex
points of law. The judge will case manage therefore setting a strict timetable for matters such as
document disclosures.
The use of ADR, such as arbitration, will be encouraged in order to avoid having to go to court and
therefore keep costs low.

The civil courts will deal with issues between two parties with the claimant asking the liable party for

The Executive Of The Virgin Company
Sir Richard Branson is a global entrepreneur and also the chairman of the Virgin Company. Within a
large company such as Virgin, it is very important to work in a team, and there are a diverse range of
teams that exist within the Virgin group such as the top management team, problem solving team,
continuous improvement team, cross functional team and the work team. A top management team is
defined as the CEO, executives or general manager, vice presidents and other top department heads
whose job is to help the organisation achieve its mission and goals. (Kinicki, 404) This can be seen
from the behavior of Branson giving the employees his private number and paying close attention to
every firm as he wants to help those people and companies within the Virgin group who are
belligerent. Many of the cabin crews are hired only during the peak season and then they are
disbanded. This is an example of a problem solving team as they only meet as a temporary team.
Moreover, there are interest groups and friendship groups exist within the group. Branson actually
encourages this by giving freedom to the employees as he thinks it is important for the employees get
to know each other well on a more personal level helping to build a friendly environment within a
team making the team successful. This may be referred as the continuous improvement team. And the
other significant teams that exist within the Virgin Group are the work team and the cross functional
team as each team members

Ernest Hemingway s The Sun Also Rises
The post WWI political and societal climate produced a steep increase in the number of American
expatriates in Europe. These expatriates were disillusioned by the horrors that they witnessed during
wartime. Romantic ideals became obsolete, and traditional values of love and happiness faded with
them. The effects of this disillusionment can be seen in Ernest Hemingway s The Sun Also Rises, a
novel that revolves around the relationships and characters of a group of expatriates on vacation in
Spain for the Running of the Bulls Festival. Of these characters, only one still subscribes to prewar
values: Robert Cohn. Robert Cohn did not fight in the war, unlike the others in the group, but he lost

and disappointment of having a rotten time ... in college and not be[ing] everything to his first wife
(Hemingway 16). These books range from travel guides on South America to romantic love stories
like The Purple Land which, according to Jake, is a very sinister book if read too late in life due to its
splendid imaginary amorous contents (17). This observation tells the reader about Cohn s mindset, as
well as Jake s. Due to the personal nature of Cohn s failures resulting in his losses, Cohn still has a
sense of optimism and romanticism that he explores through reading books like The Purple Land as
they provide him with inspiration for ways to better his life and his character. Jake, however, believes
that Cohn s obsession with The Purple Land is naive. Jake believes that his war induced impotence
has destroyed his love life, leading him to conclude that The Purple Land portrays an inaccurate
representation of love. Jake has lost all hope for himself, and this mindset proves it. One night, after
looking at himself naked in the mirror, Jake started to cry after getting lost in his thoughts, revealing
how hopeless he believes his situation is and how he still cannot fully come to terms with his
condition (38 39). Due

Michael Porter’s Generic Strategies
Michael Porter s Generic Strategies According to Porter, strategies allow organizations to gain
competitive advantage from three different bases: cost leadership, differentiation and focus. Porter
calls these bases as generic strategies. Cost leadership emphasizes producing standardized products at
a very low per unit cost for consumers who are price sensitive. Differentiation is a strategy aimed at
producing products and services considered unique industry wide and directed at customers who are
relatively price insensitive. Focus means producing products and services that fulfill the needs of
small groups of customers (niche market). When we consider competitiveness, the following

Some companies which have successfully followed this strategy are: Wal Mart, Southwest Airlines,

entire firm with high efficiency, low overhead, limited perks, intolerance of waste, intensive screening
of budget requests, and wide span of control efforts. However, some risks of pursuing this strategy are
that competitors might imitate the strategy, thus, driving overall industry profits down; that technology
breakthroughs in the industry may make the strategy ineffective; or that buyer s interest may swing to
other differentiating features besides price. Firms that succeed in cost leadership often have the
following internal strengths: Access to the capital required to make a significant investment in
production assets; this investment represents a barrier to entry that many firms may not overcome.
Skill in designing products for efficient manufacturing, for example, having a small component count
to shorten the assembly process. High level of expertise in manufacturing process engineering.
Efficient distribution channels. Its high market share means that it will have high bargaining power
relative to its suppliers and its low price will also serve as a barrier to entry. Differentiation Strategies

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Consuming Meat
1.0 Introduction
Meat is one of the main consumed food in the world in past decades when compared with other types
of food items. There are many advantages and disadvantages of consuming meat. The main advantage
is that it contains proteins, vitamin B6, B12 and several other growth factors which are essential for
the cell growth and immunity. The disadvantage is animals are injected with antibodies and several
hormones such as estrogen, testosterone to boost their growth. Hence, it causes cancer, early puberty
in girls. Therefore, the regular meat consumption is not recommended. As per literature, meat

Beef products are relatively higher than other meat items. As a result, vendors or companies tend to
mix expensive meat with low cost meat to increase the weight of the meat item and sold for lower
costs in the local market to attract the customers. Also to reduce the quality and to make the
appearance good, vendors tend to do fraud adulterations. Sometimes, as a result of poor organization
or cleaning up of the area and instruments which used to prepare processed meat, the meat products
may prone to contaminate. For example, the grinders that used to grind chicken may not be changed to
ground beef, pork or mutton. Hence the leftover minced chicken meat will be blocked in the pipelines
and it will push through only when the beef goes through the machine. This may be done purposefully
to economic perspective or unintentionally due to poor hygienic. In order to prevent contamination,
instruments have to be cleaned daily and if possible use separate grinders for each meat type. The staff
has to be trained well in an organization and hygiene. Accordingly, the fraud meat adulterations can be
minimized and thereby economical allegation and safety risk will be reduced (Hui,

Structure, or the Nazi Low Riders. There is such a high level of rivalry among gangs that if a member
of one group is released too close to another group of gang members then things could explode
violently because of the rivalry that is present and they could attack one another. The prisoners must
be released in careful order to maintain the peace in. Once the inmates are released to the yard the first
member of each gang to be released will claim a spot on the yard for the rest of the gang to gather.
Once the gang is gathered at the location that was

The Use Of Protective Lung Strategies And Effects On...
A research study can be broken out into 4 different parts: topic, problem, purpose and questions.
Aligning these components will make the article cohesive in its content and guarantee that the author
is staying on track. I examined three scholarly articles that describe studies related to the field of
Respiratory Therapy. I reviewed each article to determine the topic, problem, purpose and question to
see if the authors were able to maintain alignment throughout the article.
Article 1
Effect of a Protective Ventilation Strategy on Mortality in the Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome
(Amato et al.,). The topic of the article is the use of protective lung strategies and the effects they have
on mortality rate for patients with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS). The problem the
authors, and practitioners around the world, face is that traditional methods for mechanical ventilation
damage already diseased lungs which increases the mortality rate of patients with ARDS. The purpose
of this study is to define what lung protective strategies are comprised of and to determine if using
these strategies will reduce pulmonary complications which will ultimately decrease mortality rates.
The questions the authors focused on were:
What are the components of a lung protective strategy.
Will lung protective strategies decrease pulmonary complications in patients with ARDS?
Will decreasing pulmonary complications in this group decrease mortality rates?
The authors did a

Rhetorical Analysis Of Got Milk
Advertisments are on every corner we see. Some we see ocasionally, some we see all the time. On
billbords downtown, on tv, even ads on your pandora app. Although we may not get the picture, each
ad symbolizes a company or trademark. Each advertisement we see persuades or influences others of
some sort. The repetiton or promotion of an ad may catch the audience eye. We know by heart we if
see an famous celebrity with an milk mustache, that s the Got Milk advertisement. The campagin uses
ethos, pathos, and logos to make the audience change their drinking habits and drink more milk. The

Hernia Hiatal Rating
I humbly disagree with the discussion of my rating percentage. The rating for my Hernia Hiatal and
Esophageal spasm should be rated as two separate diagnoses. In the VA schedule of rating under the
digestive system they are under two different diagnostic codes, Hernia Hiatal is coded under 7346 and
esophageal spasm is 7204. My evaluation for esophageal spasm should be warrants a rating of 50%,
according to the diagnostic code 7204. It reads If not amenable to dilation, rate as for the degree of
obstruction (stricture) . In my medical records that was sent to the VA for review, they are documents
that clearly shows that on 3+ separate occasions I was dilated in hopes to repair my esophageal spasm,

Lord Capulet To Blame In Romeo And Juliet Essay
Romeo and Juliet, the William Shakespeare play on star crossed lovers caught in the wrong
circumstances, causing their suicidal deaths. It is supposed that the play was first performed between
1594 and 1595, and that it was first printed in 1597. This tragedy known as the death of Romeo and
Juliet has been questioned to who is to blame. Let s rewind the clock back to where this all started, the
feud between the Montague s and Capulet s. I believe Lord Capulet is to blame as he was one of the
parents involved in this feud, and many of his character flaws contributed to the deaths, therefore he is
to blame. Lord Capulet s many character flaws lead to the death of his daughter, one being he is
extremely controlling. Since men were ranked higher than women, the men ... Show more content on

The Capulet s were known to be the ones continuing the family feud as they were always the ones
provoking the Montague s and starting the fights. As males were the head of the family in charge, he is
to blame for the continuing feud. Fate was also a major role with this flaw. Although Lord Capulet
was blamed for continuing the feud, this plays along with fate and that fate kept this feud going. Act 1
Scene 1 Line 65 he says to Lady Capulet, What noise is this? Give me my long sword, ho! If the feud
was not continued by Lord Capulet, Romeo and Juliet wouldn t have had to hide their love for one
another nor keep their marriage a secret. Romeo wouldn t have been banished for killing Tybalt and
most importantly, they wouldn t have died. In this scenario Lord Capulet should not have tried to pull
out weapons to fight the Montague s as it is shown that the feud between the families can be linked
back to him, as he is being confrontational and aggressive. Lord Capulet was exceptionally
antagonistic towards the Montague s, leading towards the feud being continued which spiralled

Persuasive Speech For Speech
SUMMER! It s that time of year again and with that comes summer break! , a phrase that brings joy
and a bit of nervousness for parents. As a speech language pathologist, a question heard often from
families this time of year is what can we do at home? . We love this question, because speech practice
can be done from anywhere! I wanted to share with you a few ideas that can be quick, easy, effective,
and FUN.
1. Chalk
Chalk is a must have for summer days. As a child, I can remember drawing endless hopscotch mazes
in the cul de sac with my neighbors and racing to the finish line. Let your kids have a great time being
creative and creating their own courses on the driveway, but encourage them to practice their speech
sounds. For example, you or your child could write or draw pictures of speech words in each square of
hopscotch, so that each time they jump on a square, they practice saying the words.
I also love tracing bodies in chalk and decorating them with funny faces, clothes, etc. This gives your
child opportunity to describe the person, label items, or tell a story about what the person is doing.
2. Scavenger Hunt
Scavenger hunts are so fun and can be so beneficial for speech and language goals. For a child
working on speech sounds, you could hide objects or pictures with their sound and let them find them
as fast as they can! As they find them, they can say the word 5 times or describe where it is using
prepositions ( under the trampoline ). They can also practice inferences or guess where the next item
will be ( I think the tennis ball will be in the mailbox ). This is also fun as a flash light scavenger hunt
. You can tape your practice words around the house and turn off the lights or hide objects outside at
night time. Hand your child a flashlight and then go find the words! They can say each word as they
find them!
3. I spy
This is a favorite of mine, because it can be easily adapted to match your child s goals, and you can
never go wrong with a game of I Spy . For younger children who are working on building vocabulary,
this will give them a chance to identify and label objects and actions around the house, playground,
beach, outside, etc. This is also a great time for you to draw their

The Garden By William Makepeace Thackeray Analysis
The garden straddles the border between the public and the private, the social and the personal, and
the city and the country. It is both man made, yet natural; both intimate, yet open. Hence, the garden,
as a place of such contradictions, becomes a space for William Makepeace Thackeray to facilitate
characters contemplation, pushing the engagement with the dichotomy between nostalgia and
progress.
It is in the Royal Gardens at Vauxhall where William Dobbin s intense desire for Amelia begins to
slowly manifest. As she wanders through the paths of the garden with George Osborne, he becomes
distracted by her, ignoring the gardens that surround him:
[A]nd as he saw that good looking couple, threading the walks to the girl s delight and wonder, he
watched her artless happiness with a sort of fatherly pleasure. Perhaps he felt that he would have liked
to have something on his own arm besides a shawl [...] And the truth is, that of all the delights of the
Gardens; [...] Captain William Dobbin did not take the slightest notice. (Thackeray 63)
This passage, set in a very social engagement it is the evening of an expected proposal sees Dobbin
caught in a moment of disengagement of a private longing for Amelia. Thackeray teases Dobbin s
desires by suggesting that [p]erhaps he felt that he would have liked to have something on his own
arm besides a shawl and going into a lengthy list of all the delights of the Gardens which he ignores
(63). Dobbin, in a sense, becomes withdrawn

Adoption, NOT Abortion Essay
Nowadays, abortion has become a controversial issue because people are becoming more aware of the
issue that abortion brings to society and the individual who is going through the abortion .In recent
years, however, society has become very open minded, and as a result pro life and pro choice groups
have been able to sway the American public s view of abortion. Abortion became legal in 1973 when
Roe vs. Wade declared that a woman has the right to choose if she wishes to continue with her
pregnancy or if she wishes to terminate it. After 38 years of legalization, issues have become
prominent and many Americans are becoming pro life followers and because of this many pro life
groups want Roe vs. Wade to be overturned. Therefore, Roe vs. Wade ... Show more content on

According to UK s Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (RCOG), a fetus cannot feel
pain before 24 weeks of gestation because the connections in the fetal brain are not fully formed, as a
result it is difficult to say that fetus experiences pain because a fetus cortex has not, yet been fully
developed (Jost). However, for example, many studies have shown that early second trimester babies
respond to invasive procedures performed at 18 20 weeks with an elevated heart rate and secretion of
stress hormones (Jost). This means that there is evidence that supports the theory that fetuses can
experience pain or sense of feeling within 18 20 weeks of gestation. In addition, Bjorn Merker, a
Swedish neuroscientist who does extensive research on children born without fully developed
cortexes, has suggested that the cortex may not be necessary for the perception of pain (Jost).
Therefore, it is believed that fetuses can experience pain even as earlier than 20 weeks of development
and as a result when a woman is committing abortion, she is causing the fetus inside her womb to feel
pain, and is ending the life of a living organism. Although pro choice advocates believe that abortion
cannot cause harsh side effects, it has been said that an abortion can lead to serious side effects.
According to the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, abortions can cause side
effects like, for example, infertility, uterine bleeding to prolonged

Righteousness In The Conflict Between Job And Job
Job was a righteous man who feared God and upheld divine standards. He abounded in gifts of mercy
and acts of godly devotion. Job routinely offered sacrifices to atone for his children s sins. Hence, God
was quite pleased to observe as his servant maintained integrity in his dealing. The Almighty spoke
about Job s godly devotion to Satan the Devil. In fact, Satan claimed that Job was primarily concerned
with selfish interests. God decided to allow Satan to bring trials upon Job to test the patriarch s
motives. In this essay, I will highlight the significance of righteousness in the debates between Job and
his friends.
Job s debate with his friends was precipitated by the former s determination to uphold righteous
standards. Notably, Job experienced tremendous tribulations due to Satan s efforts. His 10 children
died while his livestock was killed. Job s servants also died under mysterious circumstances.
Unfortunately, his wife deserted and mocked him for his faith in God. In fact, she taunted him to curse
God and died. Nevertheless, these events could not break Job s integrity. Satan was determined to
intensify his physical attacks on Job. Job was struck with a debilitating illness that subjected him to
constant pain. Members of the community also shunned him. Later, three friends of Job came to visit
him. However, they did not say anything to Job for three day.
Job s friends claimed that he was suffering due to secret sins. Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar were quite

Chaucer s Code Of Chivalry
The foremost aspect of chivalry that should be understood is what this code of conduct actually
implied for the nobles of the Medieval Ages. When it comes to the concept of chivalry developed
during the time of the Crusades in the middle Ages, it began as a code of conduct for the knights. For
them, their actions were not solely occasional, but rather a way of life. The key ideals behind chivalry
were not intelligible acts that could be performed. Yet, they were about attitudes and virtues that
should be owned. The standard of chivalry, nonetheless, had considerably deeper roots. An author of
Bloody Constraint, Theodor Meron said, War and Chivalry in Shakespeare, states that the practitioners
of chivalry, the knights, were expected to be cultivated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But Politeness should be the expression of a benevolent regard for the feelings of others; it s a poor
virtue if it s motivated only by a fear of offending good taste. In its highest form Politeness approaches

13. Politeness is yet another typical Japanese virtue; however, Nitobe makes sure that it is not a
superficial display of adulation but a sincere expression of care and concern for others: Politeness is a
poor virtue, if it is actuated only by a fear of offending good taste, whereas it should be the outward
manifestation of a sympathetic regard for the feelings of others. It also implies a due regard for the
fitness of things, therefore due respect to social positions 14. He also gives an excellent explanation
for the seemingly different practice of gift giving between the Japanese and Western customs. That is,
whereas Westerners present their gifts as wonderful and excellent items, Japanese give theirs saying
they are poor and useless ones. Nitobe expounds that these two contrasting practices actually convey
the same feeling and thought; they are just two ways of saying the same thing. In other words,

The Book Of Job Is One Of The Writings
The Book of Job is one of the writings of the Hebrew Scriptures. It is renowned for its use of lyrical
poetry, sharp rhetoric, and distinct characters. It begins and ends with prose, while the bulk of the
story is told through poetic dialogue. The text is considered to be the locus classicus on the
contemplation of evil given the presence of an all powerful God that is good. This question of evil is
often referred to as theodicy, an amalgamation of the Greek words for God and trial . The quotation
For he is not a man, as I am, that I might answer him, that we should come to trial together. There is
no umpire between us who might lay his hand upon us both (Job 9:32 33) acknowledges the
fundamental distinction between God and man; the impossibility of man contending with God; and the
lack of an arbitrator capable of mediating divinity.
The cardinal difference between God and man is that God is omnipotent, while man is impotent. It is
worth noting that the line separating God and man is definitive up until the coming of Christ, which
seems to be foreshadowed in the Book of Job. Job s suffering helps him comprehend that God is an
intangible force that he can never be equal to. In order to understand how man could forget one s
insignificance next to God, it is useful to gain some context. Man was indubitably the peak of
creation: the final being, brought into existence to rule over the Earth. In Genesis 1, verse 26 God said,
Let us make man in our image, after our

Multiculturalism that seeks in keeping up the peculiarity of numerous societies is regularly

Increasing pressures of cutting costs and improving the quality of care in health care services
influences the management of the health care organization to implement the generally accepted
accounting principles (GAAP) within their daily routines. Generally accepted accounting principles
(GAAP) are a set of uniform accounting guidelines health care organizations follow to determine the
financial position of an organization. According to Finkler, Kovner, and Jones (2007) the most
common and important GAAP are as follows: (a) Entity concept, (b) Going concern concept, (c)

However, the materiality principle assists the professional judgment of a manager with these
challenges on deciphering whether or not to deem an item as material. Usually if an item has an
impact on the income, or affects the decision making of the professional using the financial statement,
the item is material. Another GAAP is the full disclosure principle. This principle states that it is
imperative to include all information in a financial statement of an entity that would affect the reader s
understanding of the statements. This principle also includes the reporting of any current accounting
policies as well as any changes of them. The last GAAP is the consistency principle. The consistency
principle suggests that once an organization agrees upon the utilization of an accounting principle or
method, they should consistently use the same method for future fiscal years. This will provide a more
accurate comparison for the individuals dealing with the massive amounts of numbers and transactions
each fiscal year. In conclusion, a health care organization s primary focus may be to provide quality
care services; however the financial wellbeing and viability is critical to meet that focus. A substantial
portion of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP) applies specifically to
reporting entities that are involved in the business of healthcare. Therefore, the generally accepted

The Characteristics Of Impactful Leadership In Jackson Vs....
1. E. Bronson Ingram was known for his strong leadership in both the business world and through his
philanthropic efforts. Describe which leadership characteristics you believe to be essential for creating
greater opportunities at the intersection of entrepreneurship and high impact philanthropy.
Andrew Carnegie once claimed that No man becomes rich unless he enriches others. Carnegie,
alongside other captains of industry, such as Cornelius Vanderbilt, pioneered the pairing of
entrepreneurship and philanthropy, through inspiring leadership. He witnessed the poverty and
destitution of the time and led both the business and philanthropic communities, alike, in the effort to
better society. He was an entrepreneurial and philanthropic leader due to his commitment to his vision
and his continual recognition of the potential he had to thwart society s injustice and misdeeds.
Consequently, with an undying commitment to one s endeavors, as well as constant recognition of
what one can do in order to combat the wrongs of the world, true, impactful leadership can form at the
intersection of philanthropy and entrepreneurship.
Without commitment, no vision can come to fruition. Great tasks require great dedication. Especially
when balancing both entrepreneurship and philanthropy, commitment is integral to every endeavor.
For example, without Steve Job s commitment to becoming a revolutionary innovator, the devices we
hold in our hands everyday would be nonexistent, as would be his charitable and humanitarian efforts.
However, with ardent fervor he thrived in entrepreneurship, founding the world s most well known
tech company, and, subsequently, philanthropy, donating many of the funds that he raised to noble
causes. Dedication was his key to success, putting his whole heart in every task that he undertook.
Thus, in order to maximize the opportunities at the crossroads of philanthropy and entrepreneurship,
this undying pursuance is necessary for successful leaders. Furthermore, recognition of one s abilities
to affect positive change is intrinsic to leading any mission. The ability to perceive, beyond oneself, is
the key to locating and targeting a problem with success. For entrepreneurship and philanthropy to

Science And Its Effect On Society Essay
Science is the process which discovers knowledge, knowledge in turn is power, and power is said to
bring about corruption. Therefore, through the transitive property, that implies that science will only
lead to corruption. Not necessarily a corruption of one s actions; for instance, science won t make a
politician accept a bribe. However, some would argue that science will lead to a degradation of
morals. For example, contemporary science may lead to a woman viewing her unborn baby as naught
but a ball of cells, similar to a tumor, which can be removed from her body with no moral dilemma.
The converse to this is the impediment of science due to humanity clinging to its archaic values. This
can be shown by the opposition to stem cell research and genetically modified embryos in the name of
morals and the inviolability of life. The stark contrast between following morals and advancing
science creates a juxtaposition that often manifests itself as a debate between religion and science.
Certain members of both the scientific and religious communities blindly adhere to their own opinions
and ideals. This butting of heads helps no one. As a result, a middle road must be found, one in which
neither progress nor morality are ignored. The polarity between these two forces is encapsulated by
the differences that Bertolt Brecht draws in his play Galileo between Galileo and the clergymen. This
play, when contrasted with the reality of Galileo s studies, provides a vehicle to discuss the

How Did Women s Fashion Change In The 1800s
Women s Fashion Changes, in the 1800s Imagine it was 1860 and the latest outfit just came out! Now
I know it probably would not matter to you now if just one outfit came out cause millions of new
clothes came out everyday but back then even if they came out with a new fabric pattern it was huge.
Yes it was the Victorian era. Women s fashion in the 1800s saw the biggest change(Lucid Crew). From
the hats to the shoes, from their sports wear to house wear. Or even if you have ever wonder where we
got this idea, although some people may not have but we stole it from others, yes we may have
improved on it but those people had it all figured out before we did. It took that history and made it
help form the clothes today. Everyone owes thanks to those people. Then, black was the new black,
Luxe labels came, there was name calling and fashion was flourishing. These modern day obsessions
with black and big name labels are nothing new. People should not think that they started these trends
but think way back then (Lucid Crew). Women s fashion in the 1800 s saw the biggest change because
of it s great development in it s dressage timeline. The reason why this fashion timeline developed so
much was because of all the new ideas of machines, fabrics, colors, and the people that created all of

The Murder And Robbery Of A Teenage Girl By Six African...
On June 15th, 1920, three innocent men were beaten and lynched in Duluth, Minnesota. The alleged
rape and robbery of a teenage girl by six African American men, led a mob of protesters to kidnap
three of the men and punish them without trial . Durring this time, racial tensions were at an all time
high in Duluth . The Duluth lynchings were met with different reactions, and in many ways it sparked
a change in the United States. Events such as this one often go unremembered due to their troubling
nature, but these events are educational and necessary to learn while investigating Minnesota history.
The background, legal action, and after math of it all show how Minnesota, and the country as a whole
reacted to this event . While some Local Duluth newspaper responded in favor of the mob, the
majority of National newspapers condemned the mob for their heinous crimes. Opposite reactions
from multiple news reports shows how divided our country was about civil rights at the time, and how
controversial the topic was . A call to action was needed. The Duluth lychings affected the nation by
showing how controversial civil rights was at this time, and influencing the creation of new programs

Dog Sees God Play Analysis
Ohlone College Theatre and Dance Department knocked it out of the park with its provocative
production of Dog Sees Go: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead. The play by Bert V. Royal, which
debuted at the New York Fringe Festival in 2004, was performed in the fall of 2012. Dog Sees God is
a dramatization of Charles Schulz s Peanuts cartoon. These lovable characters are all grown up and
dealing with the insane world of high school. The main attraction, CB (Charlie Brown), is questioning
the existence of an afterlife after his dog dies (this was a big surprise). His friends are too involved in
their own drama and can t really help him, but a chance meeting with Beethoven (Schroeder), the
target of this group s bullying, offers CB solace and thus begins a friendship that will push teen angst
to the very limits. The universal themes presented suicide, drug use, child sexual abuse, eating
disorders, teen violence, struggles with identity, rebellion, sexual relations couldn t be more current, ...

discussion, one person commented, Though I believe homosexuality is wrong, bullying is also wrong.
This is food for serious reflection. And if we can get just one person to think like that, then the director
s intention and the theme of the play have

  • 2. The Concealed Reality The Concealed Reality in Eveline and A Doll s House Hendrik Ibsan and James Joyce holds a connection between the symbols that helps the reader predict the endings of their writing. Ibsen, a Norwegian writer, was exile to Italy and later went to Germany. He decided to write A Doll s House in 1879 and throughout Europe it became a hit because of a women role at the time. In addition, when he wrote his play, people disagreed with his ending so he had to recreate an alterative end to his play. The author, James Joyce wrote Eveline whom was inspired by Ibsen s writing and decided to write a short story based on a similar theme, where he had to learn Norwegian to read his piece. Their use of symbolism allows for different possibilities a story ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The symbols that are shown throughout the play and short story are the feelings of being trapped, her unhappiness of not being someone better towards life, and their decision they could have taken to get their freedom. Eveline did not know weather to decide between leaving her family or starting a new life with Frank, while Nora was trapped in a doll house and not able to be someone more than who she is. In the play, Nora builds up another personality where she becomes more demanding and determined in making the decision to leave Torvald. However in the short story, Eveline can not have the chance to change her life around because of her mother s past life is reflected on Eveline s present. Therefore, both characters past life are affecting their future choices of being free of manipulation. The symbolism in each of these works does foreshadow the different endings because from the beginning of both play and short story it s visible to analyze the objects that stand out to predict the devastating outcome as seen in both women s life. There were signs of craving to escape, but it was up to them to determine the right decision for their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

She had big brown eyes, short hair, and her physique was slim since she lived in the gym and practiced for volleyball. Even though the little seed in the woman s stomach was not planned, her parents were overly excited for another child. They already had two of their own to take care of but were ready for another challenge. A couple months into the pregnancy, they were shocked to know the child was a girl. They had two boys before that and thought they would have another one. Her parents did not know what to name their first daughter, but her mother thought of Alinali, which many could not pronounce one bit. On the other hand, her father thought of something simple, like Nicole. Every day after she was born, her parents cherished her and their other two sons. They showed unconditional love on a daily basis and always gave an abundant number of hugs and kisses. Three years went by when Nicole and her siblings had one more addition to the family. Sadly, things began to change. Her parents had struggled financially and were extremely stressed. Looking for ways to help the family, both parents worked assiduously to bring money to the table, and that is why her mother applied for a side job at a hotel. Differentiation is a strategy aimed at producing products and services considered unique industry wide and directed at customers who are relatively price insensitive. However, some risks of pursuing this strategy are that competitors might imitate the strategy, thus, driving overall industry profits down; that technology breakthroughs in the industry may make the strategy ineffective; or that buyer s interest may swing to other differentiating features besides price. Skill in designing products for efficient manufacturing, for example, having a small component count to shorten the assembly process. High level of expertise in manufacturing process engineering. This tragedy known as the death of Romeo and Juliet has been questioned to who is to blame. Let s rewind the clock back to where this all started, the feud between the Montague s and Capulet s. I believe Lord Capulet is to blame as he was one of the parents involved in this feud, and many of his character flaws contributed to the deaths, therefore he is to blame. • 29. Persuasive Speech For Speech SUMMER! It s that time of year again and with that comes summer break! , a phrase that brings joy and a bit of nervousness for parents. As a speech language pathologist, a question heard often from families this time of year is what can we do at home? . We love this question, because speech practice can be done from anywhere! I wanted to share with you a few ideas that can be quick, easy, effective, and FUN. 1. Chalk Chalk is a must have for summer days. As a child, I can remember drawing endless hopscotch mazes in the cul de sac with my neighbors and racing to the finish line. Let your kids have a great time being creative and creating their own courses on the driveway, but encourage them to practice their speech sounds. For example, you or your child could write or draw pictures of speech words in each square of hopscotch, so that each time they jump on a square, they practice saying the words. I also love tracing bodies in chalk and decorating them with funny faces, clothes, etc. This gives your child opportunity to describe the person, label items, or tell a story about what the person is doing. 2. Scavenger Hunt Scavenger hunts are so fun and can be so beneficial for speech and language goals. For a child working on speech sounds, you could hide objects or pictures with their sound and let them find them as fast as they can! • 30. The Garden By William Makepeace Thackeray Analysis The garden straddles the border between the public and the private, the social and the personal, and the city and the country. It is both man made, yet natural; both intimate, yet open. Hence, the garden, as a place of such contradictions, becomes a space for William Makepeace Thackeray to facilitate characters contemplation, pushing the engagement with the dichotomy between nostalgia and progress. It is in the Royal Gardens at Vauxhall where William Dobbin s intense desire for Amelia begins to slowly manifest. As she wanders through the paths of the garden with George Osborne, he becomes distracted by her, ignoring the gardens that surround him: [A]nd as he saw that good looking couple, threading the walks to the girl s delight and wonder, he watched her artless happiness with a sort of fatherly pleasure. Perhaps he felt that he would have liked to have something on his own arm besides a shawl [...] And the truth is, that of all the delights of the Gardens; [...] Captain William Dobbin did not take the slightest notice. (Thackeray 63) This passage, set in a very social engagement it is the evening of an expected proposal sees Dobbin caught in a moment of disengagement of a private longing for Amelia. Thackeray teases Dobbin s desires by suggesting that [p]erhaps he felt that he would have liked to have something on his own arm besides a shawl and going into a lengthy list of all the delights of the Gardens which he ignores (63). • 31. Adoption, NOT Abortion Essay Nowadays, abortion has become a controversial issue because people are becoming more aware of the issue that abortion brings to society and the individual who is going through the abortion .In recent years, however, society has become very open minded, and as a result pro life and pro choice groups have been able to sway the American public s view of abortion. Abortion became legal in 1973 when Roe vs. Wade declared that a woman has the right to choose if she wishes to continue with her pregnancy or if she wishes to terminate it. After 38 years of legalization, issues have become prominent and many Americans are becoming pro life followers and because of this many pro life groups want Roe vs. Wade to be overturned. Therefore, Roe vs. Wade ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to UK s Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (RCOG), a fetus cannot feel pain before 24 weeks of gestation because the connections in the fetal brain are not fully formed, as a result it is difficult to say that fetus experiences pain because a fetus cortex has not, yet been fully developed (Jost). However, for example, many studies have shown that early second trimester babies respond to invasive procedures performed at 18 20 weeks with an elevated heart rate and secretion of stress hormones (Jost). This means that there is evidence that supports the theory that fetuses can experience pain or sense of feeling within 18 20 weeks of gestation. In addition, Bjorn Merker, a Swedish neuroscientist who does extensive research on children born without fully developed cortexes, has suggested that the cortex may not be necessary for the perception of pain (Jost). Therefore, it is believed that fetuses can experience pain even as earlier than 20 weeks of development and as a result when a woman is committing abortion, she is causing the fetus inside her womb to feel pain, and is ending the life of a living organism. Although pro choice advocates believe that abortion cannot cause harsh side effects, it has been said that an abortion can lead to serious side effects. According to the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, abortions can cause side effects like, for example, infertility, uterine bleeding to prolonged ... • 32. Righteousness In The Conflict Between Job And Job Job was a righteous man who feared God and upheld divine standards. He abounded in gifts of mercy and acts of godly devotion. Job routinely offered sacrifices to atone for his children s sins. Hence, God was quite pleased to observe as his servant maintained integrity in his dealing. The Almighty spoke about Job s godly devotion to Satan the Devil. In fact, Satan claimed that Job was primarily concerned with selfish interests. God decided to allow Satan to bring trials upon Job to test the patriarch s motives. In this essay, I will highlight the significance of righteousness in the debates between Job and his friends. Job s debate with his friends was precipitated by the former s determination to uphold righteous standards. Notably, Job experienced tremendous tribulations due to Satan s efforts. His 10 children died while his livestock was killed. Job s servants also died under mysterious circumstances. Unfortunately, his wife deserted and mocked him for his faith in God. In fact, she taunted him to curse God and died. Nevertheless, these events could not break Job s integrity. Satan was determined to intensify his physical attacks on Job. Job was struck with a debilitating illness that subjected him to constant pain. Members of the community also shunned him. Later, three friends of Job came to visit him. However, they did not say anything to Job for three day. Job s friends claimed that he was suffering due to secret sins. Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar were quite ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Chaucer s Code Of Chivalry The foremost aspect of chivalry that should be understood is what this code of conduct actually implied for the nobles of the Medieval Ages. When it comes to the concept of chivalry developed during the time of the Crusades in the middle Ages, it began as a code of conduct for the knights. For them, their actions were not solely occasional, but rather a way of life. The key ideals behind chivalry were not intelligible acts that could be performed. Yet, they were about attitudes and virtues that should be owned. The standard of chivalry, nonetheless, had considerably deeper roots. An author of Bloody Constraint, Theodor Meron said, War and Chivalry in Shakespeare, states that the practitioners of chivalry, the knights, were expected to be cultivated ... But Politeness should be the expression of a benevolent regard for the feelings of others; it s a poor virtue if it s motivated only by a fear of offending good taste. In its highest form Politeness approaches love. Modesty and complaisance, actuated by respect for others‟ feelings, are at the root of politeness 13. Politeness is yet another typical Japanese virtue; however, Nitobe makes sure that it is not a superficial display of adulation but a sincere expression of care and concern for others: Politeness is a poor virtue, if it is actuated only by a fear of offending good taste, whereas it should be the outward manifestation of a sympathetic regard for the feelings of others. It also implies a due regard for the fitness of things, therefore due respect to social positions 14. He also gives an excellent explanation for the seemingly different practice of gift giving between the Japanese and Western customs. That is, whereas Westerners present their gifts as wonderful and excellent items, Japanese give theirs saying they are poor and useless ones. Nitobe expounds that these two contrasting practices actually convey the same feeling and thought; they are just two ways of saying the same thing. In other words, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. The Book Of Job Is One Of The Writings The Book of Job is one of the writings of the Hebrew Scriptures. It is renowned for its use of lyrical poetry, sharp rhetoric, and distinct characters. It begins and ends with prose, while the bulk of the story is told through poetic dialogue. The text is considered to be the locus classicus on the contemplation of evil given the presence of an all powerful God that is good. This question of evil is often referred to as theodicy, an amalgamation of the Greek words for God and trial . The quotation For he is not a man, as I am, that I might answer him, that we should come to trial together. There is no umpire between us who might lay his hand upon us both (Job 9:32 33) acknowledges the fundamental distinction between God and man; the impossibility of man contending with God; and the lack of an arbitrator capable of mediating divinity. The cardinal difference between God and man is that God is omnipotent, while man is impotent. It is worth noting that the line separating God and man is definitive up until the coming of Christ, which seems to be foreshadowed in the Book of Job. Job s suffering helps him comprehend that God is an intangible force that he can never be equal to. In order to understand how man could forget one s insignificance next to God, it is useful to gain some context. Man was indubitably the peak of creation: the final being, brought into existence to rule over the Earth. In Genesis 1, verse 26 God said, Let us make man in our image, after our ... Generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) are a set of uniform accounting guidelines health care organizations follow to determine the financial position of an organization. However, the materiality principle assists the professional judgment of a manager with these challenges on deciphering whether or not to deem an item as material. Usually if an item has an impact on the income, or affects the decision making of the professional using the financial statement, the item is material. Another GAAP is the full disclosure principle. This principle states that it is imperative to include all information in a financial statement of an entity that would affect the reader s understanding of the statements. This principle also includes the reporting of any current accounting policies as well as any changes of them. The last GAAP is the consistency principle. The consistency principle suggests that once an organization agrees upon the utilization of an accounting principle or method, they should consistently use the same method for future fiscal years. This will provide a more accurate comparison for the individuals dealing with the massive amounts of numbers and transactions each fiscal year. • 38. The Characteristics Of Impactful Leadership In Jackson Vs.... 1. E. Bronson Ingram was known for his strong leadership in both the business world and through his philanthropic efforts. Describe which leadership characteristics you believe to be essential for creating greater opportunities at the intersection of entrepreneurship and high impact philanthropy. Andrew Carnegie once claimed that No man becomes rich unless he enriches others. Carnegie, alongside other captains of industry, such as Cornelius Vanderbilt, pioneered the pairing of entrepreneurship and philanthropy, through inspiring leadership. He witnessed the poverty and destitution of the time and led both the business and philanthropic communities, alike, in the effort to better society. He was an entrepreneurial and philanthropic leader due to his commitment to his vision and his continual recognition of the potential he had to thwart society s injustice and misdeeds. Consequently, with an undying commitment to one s endeavors, as well as constant recognition of what one can do in order to combat the wrongs of the world, true, impactful leadership can form at the intersection of philanthropy and entrepreneurship. Without commitment, no vision can come to fruition. Great tasks require great dedication. Especially when balancing both entrepreneurship and philanthropy, commitment is integral to every endeavor. For example, without Steve Job s commitment to becoming a revolutionary innovator, the devices we hold in our hands everyday would be nonexistent, as would be his charitable and humanitarian efforts. However, with ardent fervor he thrived in entrepreneurship, founding the world s most well known tech company, and, subsequently, philanthropy, donating many of the funds that he raised to noble causes. Dedication was his key to success, putting his whole heart in every task that he undertook. Thus, in order to maximize the opportunities at the crossroads of philanthropy and entrepreneurship, this undying pursuance is necessary for successful leaders. Furthermore, recognition of one s abilities to affect positive change is intrinsic to leading any mission. The ability to perceive, beyond oneself, is the key to locating and targeting a problem with success. For entrepreneurship and philanthropy to thrive ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Science And Its Effect On Society Essay Science is the process which discovers knowledge, knowledge in turn is power, and power is said to bring about corruption. Therefore, through the transitive property, that implies that science will only lead to corruption. Not necessarily a corruption of one s actions; for instance, science won t make a politician accept a bribe. However, some would argue that science will lead to a degradation of morals. For example, contemporary science may lead to a woman viewing her unborn baby as naught but a ball of cells, similar to a tumor, which can be removed from her body with no moral dilemma. The converse to this is the impediment of science due to humanity clinging to its archaic values. This can be shown by the opposition to stem cell research and genetically modified embryos in the name of morals and the inviolability of life. The stark contrast between following morals and advancing science creates a juxtaposition that often manifests itself as a debate between religion and science. Certain members of both the scientific and religious communities blindly adhere to their own opinions and ideals. This butting of heads helps no one. As a result, a middle road must be found, one in which neither progress nor morality are ignored. The polarity between these two forces is encapsulated by the differences that Bertolt Brecht draws in his play Galileo between Galileo and the clergymen. This play, when contrasted with the reality of Galileo s studies, provides a vehicle to discuss the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
