beach was awesome and Jessie and I had a lot of fun there. We did a lot of water
sports and just chilled there. We went to 3 other islands called Hydra, Poros, and

Romania, Ukraine, Poland, Scandinavia, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, until
Portugal. I was very tired and rested in Portugal for 3 days. I m also getting ready
for the United States Trip. 3 days has passed and we are heading to U.S.A. We
started off in Washington and used taxi to travel around New York. We took over a
month in the U.S. In New York we watched an NBA match between the New York
Knicks and the Orlando Magic and Knicks won. We went shopping in the whole

From philosophers to religious scholars, from thinkers to the everyman, the nature
of the will of man has been a subject of reflection for millennia. More specifically,
mankind has wondered if a life is solely under the control of the individual, or is it
controlled or manipulated by an exterior force. Many have explored this topic, and
have considered its countless implications. Unsurprisingly, this debate of fate versus
free will has been a subject of many works of literature. Two compelling examples of
literature that explore this theme are Sophocles tragedy Oedipus Tyrannus and Jean
Paul Sartres one act play No Exit. Despite being written centuries apart, these two
writers examine the subject in an interesting manner, such that they both cause the
audience to consider both sides of the debate, and furthermore consider how their
actions affect their everyday lives.
In the first place, it must be acknowledged that the setting of these two works of
literature plays a significant role in developing the theme of man s will against
fate. Yes, Oedipus Tyrannus takes place in Thebes, but the most overlooked and
obvious point is that the events of the narrative take place on Earth. As opposed to
No Exit, which is set in Hell. This contrast of settings is crucial, as Sartre implies
that on Earth man has complete control of his actions and therefore a semblance of
free will; while in Hell, man has no control of his life or actions, because everything
is preset for his eternal

In Everyday Use by Alice Walker, there is a clear depiction of heritage and what it
is; equally, there is also the image of how it may be construed. In the story, the
reader is introduced into the life of an African American family who live in a small
house and struggle financially. It is a life that has been lived by many throughout in
history. Through the use of symbolism, Walker interprets the American Dream as
unique to each individual and the possibility to lose it in the chaos of life.

Abstract: In this paper we present a load measurement scheme for home energy
management system with energy demand management. The proposed system will
have control of various appliances that are available in the home. It manages
household loads according to their predefined priority and guarantees the total
household power consumption below certain levels. The home energy management
system will receive the demand response from the utility side. The goal of the
system is to encourage the consumer to use less energy during peak hours or to
move the time of energy use to off peak times such as nighttime and weekends.
Thus the high peak to average ratio (PAR) of power will be avoided and also we
adopt real time pricing. The utility company use real time dynamic pricing to
coordinate demand responses to the benefit of the overall system. Hence for this
purpose we need to measure the power consumed by the various appliances that are
available in the home.
