Key Accomplishments
Joined Kubota UK in January 2014 as Logistics Planner before gaining promotion 11 months later to
Process Controller being responsible for documenting,evaluating and improving all processes within the
four business models employed.(Tractors,Engines,Construction machineryand Spare Parts).
Identified a need to remedy a weakness in the supplychain which was a cause of customer
dissatisfaction arising from increased lead times,COTD and unnecessaryfreightcosts incurred by both
Kidde and customer.I challenged the traditional approach offulfilling orders byimporting goods from
external suppliers for consolidation and fulfillmentfrom Kidde's UK factory. I suggested thatlead/delivery
times and shipping costs could be greatlyimproved if any orders involving products from external
suppliers could be made available directlyto the clientas a splitorder. Following implementation ofmy
recommendations,lead times were improved byup to 4 - 5 days and approx 25% reduction in shipping
costs and importduties.The solution has since been offered and rolled outto the wider customer base.
Identified a growing animositybetween another 3rd party supplier and customer caused by insufficient
supportand understanding ofcustomer needs and documentation requirements.The solution involved
removing the option of collection from 3rd party supplier when a required level of documentation needed
to be raised to supportthe export. Whilstthis increased Kidde's back end shipping costs,itimproved
customer satisfaction and confidence in Kidde UK.
During my tenure with Tom Tom technical supportI identified a failing in the standard supportinstructions
supplied to customer.The instructions were complicated and convoluted and notnecessarilysuited to the
end user with minimal computer literacy. This resulted in repeatcalls and customer dissatisfaction which
had the potential to damage the brand. I took the initiative to recreate a suitable,step-by-step document
including a blend of text and images to cover all eventualities.This was tried and tested by a cross
functional group within Tom Tom and implemented and translated for use across the entire European
supportteam.This resulted in measured reduction in call backs,improved customer satisfaction and
improved my personal targets placing me in the top 5 agents ofTom Tom Europe.
