Bearings are used to describe direction and position more accurately than compass points alone. They are always three figures measured clockwise from North. To measure the bearing from point A to point B, draw a line from A to B and measure the angle clockwise from the North line at A. To measure the bearing from B to A, do the same but measure the exterior angle clockwise from the North line at B, and add 180 degrees if the measurement is less than 180.
