• I believe that if my media product was to be published then Bauer
Media would be the most appropriate choice of institution to do so.
• Bauer are a monumental conglomerate, appealing to the masses
essentially, but through targeting niche groups. The institution can
appeal to a vast array of niche groups by distributing my magazine
which will target virtually all of these groups such is its mainstream
nature. Bauer Media Uk reaches over 22 Million UK consumers on a
weekly basis, they do so with the use of a variety of different
products, across a colossal range of formats such is the institutions
excellent use of convergence. The brands which Bauer own include:
Kerrang!, Heat, Kiss, Grazia, Empire, Magic and Absolute Radio. As an
institution Bauer creates content which a variety of audiences love to
indulge in, whenever and wherever they choose, such is their focus
on product excellence, customer satisfaction and unmitigated
dedication to convergence.
• Bauer owns a variety of magazines, incorporating a variety of genres
and is what is known as a conglomerate. The company is simply
monumental, much larger than most respective media companies,
this is a huge factor in reaffirming my believe I would be best served
using Bauer to distribute and publish my music magazine.
• Bauer products make most of their income from advertisement, predominantly found
in print. They do this in a variety of ways such as advertising traditionally using posters
and billboards alike, but also with the use of digital technologies such as the internet
and television. Bauer’s financial prosperity is also enhanced simply when their
products are sold, reaping the rewards upon the weekly release of Kerrang! For
example, when fans of the magazine purchase the magazine.
• Bauer Media is a division of the Bauer Media group, formed in January of 2008. It is
the largest private publishing group in Europe. It is a worldwide media group offering
over 300 magazines in 15 countries, where they are also accessible online, on radio
and on television.
There are many different media products Bauer produce, they all adhere to the
institutions ideal that their variety of products appeal to a wide range of audience
groups.
