The training seminars last three months and are available right through the year. The target date to
complete the training is May 16, 2016. The coachee has three months of scheduled training, even
though the training is available year round. The expected outcome is to improve PowerPoint, increase
online research technique for Journals articles; APA format and citation; Editing of and making
videos.
Step 5 coaching and accountability and support
In this step the coach will help the coachee recognize responsibility. The coach would like John to
achieve his desire by the goals that were set. The coach will help John, but the ultimate responsibility
lies on John to attain his goals. Less input from the coach is beneficial for John the coachee. With too
much input from the coach, John the coachee will rely on his coach for continued assistance and
direction which is of little benefit to him and hinder development and growth for him.

Letter From Heaton Manor Letter
Heaton manor letter After reading the letter from Heaton manor I realised that this letter was written in
formal. This is because the way the writer has authored this it looks professional. The letter was
drafted to the students parents about a trip. They used the words Dear at the beginning and Yours
Faithfully at the end of the page, this is used if the name of the person isn t known. However, they
wrote the letter to the parents and carers because if they didn t do this, they would have found it
crucial and more complicated, because its harder to write the letter to each parent. Although, it would
have been exceeding if they wrote to each parent, because this would make the parents know that they
have taken their time to write to each parent so their child could go to the trip. Also, they have added
the date. This material is added to show when the letter was written. The address isn t added .
Previously stated, this is because it would have taken the Head of ICT longer . Especially because they
might not know the addresses of each student. Also, most of the logos are either combined at the top
or at the bottom of the page. This is used to show which company or school this is from. In this letter
the colour which is mostly used is blue. Lastly, the logo itself has the colour blue and this makes the
letter emerge. However, the school doesnt t give an option to the parents because the children would
need to go their to check. Not only would they need to

I Had Always Considered Myself A Writer Essay
I had always considered myself a writer. I had always found comfort in identifying with the title of
writer. I had the cliché I was born a writer stories to back up this self given idealistic position. I was
drawing full length picture books at the age of three, before I even knew how to string together a
coherent sentence in the written word. By five, I had no trouble whipping out a thrilling (maybe for a
kindergartener) story that I begged my grandma to type up for me, considering I was not yet equipped
with the skills that I needed to pen a novel by hand. Throughout, the rest of my schooling, I excelled
in anything that required using the English language, particularly when it came to essays or reading
comprehension assessments. It was these experiences that I used to internally quell the uneasy feelings
that arose when people asked me what my hobbies were and I told them I m a writer. I was uneasy,
undoubtedly due to the fact that I had not actually written anything of actual significance outside of
the classroom since I was very (very) young. Once I reached college, it became clear that how I
defined myself as a writer would play a central part in shaping who I was. My first notable foray into
authorship was in the first grade, during what I will reluctantly admit was a strong My Little Pony
phase. Like most budding artists, it was manic obsession that drove me to create an entire, vivid world
where rainbow pastel ponies were the characters and the setting was a

Investigating The Combined Heat Transfer
I. Abstract:
The main objectives of this experiment are to determine the combined heat transfer (Qr + Qc) from a
horizontal cylinder in natural convection over a wide range of power inputs and surface temperature.
Also to compare between convection and radiation heat transfer and between Hc and Hr. Moreover, to
determine the effect of forced convection and to show the relation between air velocity and surface
temperature for forced convection. And demonstrate that the local heat transfer coefficient varies
around the circumference of a horizontal cylinder when subjected to forced convection.
In Exp # 1, the voltage was continuously changing until the heater temperature (T10) reach the steady
state condition and at this time, T10 was recorded to get Qr and Qc. In Exp # 2, the voltage was kept
constant while the air velocity was changing continuously and T10 was recorded at the state condition
to determine Qf and Qr. In Exp # 3, the angular position and air velocity were changing continuously
and T10 was recorded at the state condition. The error percentage in Experiment #1 between Qc
experimental and Qc theoretical ranges is between 0.95% and 10.7% while the error in Qr
experimental and Qr theoretical ranges from 7.9% to 21.5%. Finally, the error percentage in
Experiment #2 between Qtot theoretical and Qtot experimental ranges from 5.6% to 6.22%, while the
error in Qt theoretical and Qin ranges from 50.5% to 80.5%.

College At Oneonta For My Masters
All of my experiences in life have lead me to apply to SUNY College at Oneonta for my Masters of
Science in Education. I have many goals, both professional and academic that are related to school
counseling. All throughout school I had many inspirational school counselors that molded who I am
today. This set me up for success in my college career. Upon entering college, I began to appreciate
the importance of planning and organization in order to build the life I wanted for myself. While
completing the application process for graduate school I realized that everything I had done over the
years lead to this moment. I thoroughly enjoyed applying for schools, only because I had the
confidence and motivation from my many mentors and counselors surrounding me. My friends would
ask for my assistance everyday during their own educational planning and I knew I wanted to make a
career out of it. During these experiences, I learned the importance of discovering a meaningful life
path. This is the most important aspect I will instill in the students I work with on a daily basis. I was
lucky enough to have an amazing counselor at my undergraduate college. Jennifer Rooney, Director of
Career Development and Engagement at St. Joseph s College, provided me with amazing advice
regarding school counseling. She motivated me to follow through with my dream and encouraged me
to use my past experiences as a way to succeed in the field of School Counseling. Working with

Wireless Communication Advantages And Disadvantages
ABSTRACT
In this global world of technologies where the communication is being modern day by day, on every
other day the new technologies are being invented so in this vast world of growing technologies the
cognitive radio network is another addition and a step toward fast and secure communication.
Cognitive radio network is the network used for wireless communication which uses the spectrum of
frequencies. It is an intelligent network in a sense that it can recognize the channels in use or vacant,
the ability of this network is that it can shift the data on vacant channel without letting the other busy
channel get disturbed. CRN is a technology which works on the spectrum of frequencies, sensing the
spectrum of frequencies at receiver s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is an amazing approach toward the wireless technology being used in present era of technology
where the radios will be able to use the spectrum of frequencies in a new and classy way. This
technology will be able to sense and identify the changes environmentally in its surrounding and can
change its configuration according to present situations so that CRN can demonstrate the best result
which can be achieved. The CRN use most probable techniques by which the quality of
communication can be improved. This technology is able to modify or change the parameters of its
transmitter for an improved communication experience for user. The radios used earlier were carried
with an assumption of working on spectrum band considered as to be idle of interference there was no
need of bestowing these radios the ability to change the parameters of its transmitter, channel or
spectrum. Through distinction xMax cognitive radios are able to sense the environment excellently by
which then the CRN will notice which spectrum is not used thus immediately use the vacant spectrum
for receiving and sending the data also it will come to know if there is any sort of interference has
occurred on frequencies being used it do pay sharp glimpse on such interference. Whereas Amax hunts
out the limitations of interference occurred. The CRN simply works on four simple techniques,
spectrum sensing, spectrum management, spectrum sharing and spectrum mobility. Spectrum sensing

Psychoactive Drugs Through Human History
Psychoactive Drug Through History Reaction As I listened to the podcast Psychoactive Drugs
Through Human History the whole video was a learning experience for me, most of what he said I
was hearing for the first time. Usually when you hear about drugs in school or from people all you
hear are drugs are bad, they are addicting and can kill you, you never hear about the details or that
some drugs are good. So as Doctor Weil explains the many different drugs and the Cultures that use
them, I was surprised at most of what he said. The most surprising was that there is no good or bad
drug, any drug can be used either intelligently or stupidly, I have never heard it said that way. Another
thing that surprised me would be that many plants have

Corporation (Telus). Basic data such as the Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Data on Telus Common

issuance of Preferred Stock in the future. Although this type of stock is less restricted, it can
considerably affect the company s overall cost of capital based on a higher after tax cost and given that

How Does Jane Tompkins Conflict With The American Indians
In the document, quot;Indians: Textualism, Morality, and The Problem of History, quot; Jane
Tompkins examines the conflicts between the English settlers and the American Indians. After
examining several primary sources, Tompkins found that different history books have different
perspectives. It wasn t that the history books took different angles that was troubling, but the
viewpoints contradicted one another. People who experience the same event told it through their
reality. This becomes a problem when a person who didn t experience the effect wants to know what
happened. Tompkins said, quot; The problem id that if all accounts of events are determined through
and through by the observer s frame of reference, that one will never know, ... Show more content on

Tompkins claims this to be irrelevant, saying his viewpoint was biased. Moving on to another
contradictory perspective, Tompkins examines the perspective of Francis Jenning s The Invasion of
America written in the late sixties. Jennings saw the European settlers to brutal animals,
quot;the early settlers lied to the Indians, stole form them, murdered them, scalped them, captured
them, tortured them, raped them, soled the into slavery, confiscated their land, destroyed their crops,
burned their homes, scattered their possessions, gave them alcohol, undermined their systems of
belief, and infected them with diseases that wiped out ninety percent of their numbers within the first
hundred years after contact. quot; (206)
Examining further Tompkins saw another change of perspectives in the seventies, caused by the
American Indian Movement. Calvin Martin, author of Keepers of the Game saw the European
settlement as an invasion of the Indian s spiritual relationship with the animals. Because of fur trade
with the Europeans, the Indian s discontinued their spiritual ritual of worshipping the animal s carcass.
When disease started spreading among the Indians, brought over by the Europeans, they thought it
was because the spirits were angry with them. Martin refers to this time as a quot;holy war. quot; The
pattern of contradictions continued with a series of essays called Indians, Animals, and the Fur Trade

What Is The Theme Of Beauty In Night Of The Ninjas
Morgan Le Fay is an old character who has gone through many changes in her characterization and
personality since she was introduced to literature in The Life of Merlin. Morgan went from being a
benevolent goddess in the medieval times to a sultry witch in the modern world. The 1868 poem
Earthly Paradise portrays Morgan as a beautiful enigma whose looks are paralyzing and powerful.
Since Earthly Paradise was written in Victorian times, beauty was highly focused on; it was culturally
expected for women to exert tremendous amounts of energy on the way they looked. On the other
hand, Night of the Ninjas focuses more on Morgan s ability to time travel to different historical
periods rather than her aesthetic. Because Night of the Ninjas is from modern times, beauty and
perfection are not as important as they were in the Victorian era, so Morgan s powers are highly
valued and her looks are downplayed. The variations in the way different aspects of Morgan are
emphasized is due to what each culture values. Earthly Paradise, by William Morris, highlights the
Victorian way of thinking by emphasizing Morgan Le Fay s beauty. This intense focus on her beauty
is unique to this poem, which offers a window into how people experienced beauty in the 19th
century. Beauty was meant to be shown off and compared, so many upper class women went to great
lengths to perfect themselves. Nowadays our perceptions of beauty are more private and personal; we
find beauty in unexpected places,

Correlation Between Dietary Sugar Intake And Risk For Cancer
The body requires sugar (Espat, 2015). However, there is recent speculation that sugar can cause
cancer. More than one million people in the United States (US) get cancer each year (American
Cancer Society, 2016). Most Americans eat more than double the recommended daily intake of sugar
each day (Espat, 2015). According to the Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2015 2020, individuals
should not consume more than 10% of their calories from sugar (US Department of Agriculture,
2016). While increased sugar intake can lead to other issues, such as obesity, which is associated with
cancer, diabetes and cancer occur together more often than would be expected by chance alone
(Oncology Nutrition, 2016).
The purpose of this study is to provide additional information on a topic that should be of great
importance to the public. Everyone should be informed of preventable factors that can be linked to an
increased risk of cancer. This study will explore the correlation between dietary sugar intake with risk
for cancer. Many experts argue over the relation of sugar and cancer, and very little research has been
done on the topic. The University of Texas: MD Anderson Cancer Center associates obesity, a result of
high sugar diets, to be the actual correlating variable between cancer and sugar (Espat, 2015).
However, the Osher Center for Integrative Medicine (Osher Center for Integrative Medicine, 2012)
reports that elevated blood sugar levels lead to mutations in DNA, which

Koan Essay
Obtaining Realization Through Koan
Zen, also known as Ch an Buddhism in China, is a school of Mahayana Buddhism that was
established in China about 1500 years ago. Zen is a form of religious practice of mainly concentrating
the mind to a single point in which then results in self realization and/or enlightenment. Zen
philosophy is interpreted that all humans are capable of reaching enlightenment, which is generally
blocked by ignorance. The idea emphasizes enlightened masters over forms of scriptures, and is the
least academic of all the Buddhist schools.
The beliefs and traditions Zen Buddhism holds has been very influential on western society, which

Zen Buddhism has a reputation for being unfathomable or an incomprehensible type of religion. Much
of that reputation is derived from koan practice. Buddhist priest Myoan Eisai introduced Zen in Japan
in 1191 after receiving a certification as a Zen teacher in China, as a disciple of Xuan Huaichang.
Along with his certification, Eisai also brought Zen scriptures and tea seeds in which he used when
immediately opening the first Zen temple in Japan. Rinzai and Soto are the two sub divisions of Zen,
and are the two largest Zen sects in Japan today. Rinzai was brought to Japan by Eisai in the 12th
century and focuses on sudden enlightenment. This practice believes that unless one awakens the
absolute, Rinzai will have no effect. Rinzai master Hakuin used koans, a puzzling or paradoxical story
or statement for aid in meditation. The most well known koan, what is the sound of one hand
clapping? was created by Hakuin Ekaku.
Koan, literally meaning public cases is one of the most familiar and distinctive elements of Zen
Buddhism. It refers to mysterious and often shocking spiritual expressions, most cases in forms of
riddles, based on encounters between masters and disciples of the tradition used as pedagogical tools
for religious training in the Zen (Ch an) Buddhist tradition (Wright 3). Most classic koans are derived
from the T ang dynasty China. Kung an, the Chinese pronunciation of koan, is a case which

Robert Russa Moton High School
In Virginia, it was very hard for a black student to receive a diploma because of the lack of education
they received in their schools. Unless they attended a private school, which black children seldom did,
they did not receive the same education as white students. Robert Russa Moton High School was one
of the first and only schools for blacks in Prince Edward County (Heinemann). This school was built
in 1939 to hold 180 students, and it lacked in many common things one may find at a white high
school, like a gymnasium, cafeteria, science labs, and sports fields (Heinemann). About ten years later,
because the number of students grew from 180 to 400, they built small buildings made of plywood
and tarpaper instead of building a new school. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Barbara Johns, a junior at Morton High, was very unhappy with the condition of the school. She was
the niece of Vernon Johns, a pastor and outspoken civil rights activist (June Friesen). On April 23,
1951, the principle of Morton High, M. Boyd Jones, was lured off campus by a call saying students
from Moton were hanging around the bus station instead of being at school. This was the perfect
opportunity for Johns to take action and put her idea of going on strike into action. Johns called an
assembly where she explained to the student body what was wrong with the condition of their school
and the classmates support overwhelmed her. For the rest of the day, the students layered the school
inside and out with signs saying things like, We want a new school or none at all or Down with the tar
paper shacks (Heinemann). The next day Johns as well as a couple other students went to the
Farmville Courthouse where superintendent T.J. Mcllwaine told them nothing would happen if they
did not return to class. The students however did not return to class until May 7. Spottswood Robinson

Fault Tolerance – Application Software
Introduction
Today s business requirements drive the necessity for software applications that enable organizations
to maintain constant and continuous availability. We are living in a 24/7 world. Brick and mortar
businesses that only needed to worry about the security of their hard assets after closing for the day
now have websites allowing customers to shop online at their convenience. Simply establishing a web
presence is not enough to compete in the market. Business to business (B2B) and business to customer

The business operation s systems performance can be severely impacted by software faults, so it is
essential to limit, control and contain the (possible) damage by faulty software.
For some applications, software fault tolerance is more of a safety issue than reliability. There can be
legal or regulatory requirements to fault tolerance. For many B2B and B2C transactions, fault
tolerance is a business decision. There are other organizations whose charter is driven by the
implementation of a fault tolerant system. For example, the aviation industry is required to meet strict
specifications for hardware and software. Airlines board over 500 million passengers per year. The
transportation of such large numbers of human life would demand fault tolerance environments of
robust safety and reliability. In the nuclear industry, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission
developed a tool to assess software reliability systems by modeling redundant systems with analysis of
failure data and calculations of availability. The International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering
provides risk based guidance to encourage cost effective error detection and failure prevention.
Companies that strive to maintain accurate and comprehensive environmental data are regulated with

Sexism In Movies

over fifty years. In her discussion, Smith brought to light information about the sexism that is
prevalent in Hollywood. Smith, along with her team, has conducted more than thirty investigations on
the erasing and marginalization of females in the movie industry. Smith discusses how she carries out
her research by cataloguing all speaking characters on screen for race, ethnicity, gender, LGBT, and

Smith states that, Across the top 100 films of just last year, 48 films didn t feature one black or African
American speaking character, and 70 films were devoid of Asian or Asian American speaking
characters that were girls or women (Smith). The discrimination of African Americans, Asians, and
many other races and ethnicities has been somewhat of an epidemic in Hollywood and the film
industry for many years. It is understandable how this topic can upset people and have them pushing
for more ethnic diversity in movies. Although many believe the film industry should include more
diversity, people also must understand that not all characters can be changed just for the sake of
having more diversity in a film. Take historical films for example, directors are not going to make a
historical film with actors that do not fit within the roles of the movie. This is different in the case of
movies like the Spiderman franchise. This franchise had been looking for an actor to continue the
franchise, and had an African American actor in the running for the main role. Even though the
previous films had while actors portray the lead, it would have been completely acceptable for an
African American actor to take over. In the end the Spiderman franchise gave up a wonderful
opportunity to cast an African American actor and help to fight against the diversity

My Photographic Methodology And Research Practice On The...
In urban studies there is growing acknowledgement that experience is configured and shaped by
temporality. My photographic methodology and research practice in the Gulf region has focused on
how informal territorial appropriation allows individuals to claim a space as their own. As a result
temporality becomes an important structural component in forming and exploring ocular identity in
Gulf cities. Amidst radical interventions at the macro level new urban landscapes create views of the

Social Anxiety Disorders
The diagnosis of social phobia requires the symptoms to be consistent and persistent , as well as
causing significant distress which damage social, occupational, or other important areas of life

The World s Wife By. Duffy
As suggested by the title of the anthology, Duffy s poems within The World s Wife place the focus on
women in an inherently patriarchal and male dominated world. This is also true of Mrs Beast , in
which Duffy reimagines the traditional fairy tale of The Beauty and the Beast to give Mrs Beast
dominance over her husband, as well as financial and emotional independence. The opening lines of
Mrs Beast set the tone for the rest of the poem, linking all of the characters mentioned throughout The
World s Wife , as well as listing many other women with stories that would fit the themes of the
sequence due to their exploitation by men. This acts as a warning to men from Mrs Beast, who sees
these women in herself, commenting: so when you ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This inversion of the traditional roles in a fairytale is also present throughout the rest of the stanza, as
Mrs Beast describes herself as no longer a girl, knowing my own mind, / my own gold stashed in the
bank, / my own black horse at the gates , demonstrating that she is able to take care of herself with no
need for help. Moreover, her financial and emotional independence is highlighted by the anaphora of
my own , with repetition similar to this used by Duffy throughout The World s Wife , particularly in
Little Red Cap . However, the effect of the use of anaphora in Mrs Beast contrasts with its effect in
Little Red Cap at the beginning of the sequence, which describes a girl progressing from innocence
and naivety at childhood s end to saving herself and becoming independent ten years later. Despite
these differences, both poems similarly reimagine fairytales, with Mrs Beast being what Little Red
Cap could grow up to become with her new found independence, as Mrs Beast demonstrates her
ability to take care of herself and be carried off at one wrong word, / one false move, one dirty look .
In juxtaposition with this, the Beast is presented as submissive and similar to a slave rather than as the
traditional handsome and arrogant prince of fairytales. He is treated and described as an animal
instead of a person, falling to his knees at the door for Mrs Beast and kiss(ing) her glove with his
mongrel lips , reflecting his

The Dissolution Of Yugoslavi Yugoslavia
The Dissolution of Yugoslavia The country of Yugoslavia was first formed as a kingdom in 1918 after
combining land areas from the now both defunct Ottoman and Austro Hungarian Empires and then
recreated as a Socialist state in 1945 after the Axis powers were defeated in World War II. The Soviet
Union took control of Yugoslavia after the war and wrote a new constitution for the country that
established six constituent republics in the federation: Bosnia Hercegovina, Croatia, Macedonia,
Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia. The Republic of Serbia also had two self governing provinces:
Vojvodina and Kosovo. Yugoslavia was a part of the Soviet Union until the Union dissolved in 1991
and as a result Yugoslavia soon followed, but this is about ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Exceptions to this pattern of stability were the marked increase of the Albanian population and a steep
decline in the numbers of Jews, ethnic Germans, and Hungarians after World War II (Cushman).
Another definitive cause of the Yugoslavian breakup was the nationalism of ethnic groups in the early
1990s. Nationalism replaced communism as the dominant ideology in the country. Slovenia and then
Croatia were the first to break away, but this caused Serbia to become hostile towards the two nations.
Consequently, the war in Croatia led to hundreds of thousands of refugees and also brought back
memories of the harsh acts of the Nazis in the 1940s. By 1992 a further conflict had broken out in
Bosnia, which had also succeeded from Yugoslavia. The Serbs who lived there were determined in
remaining within Yugoslavia and to help build a more homogenous Serbia. They received strong
backing from radical groups in Belgrade. Muslims were driven from their homes in carefully planned
operations that become known as ethnic cleansing . By 1993 the Bosnian Muslim government was
besieged in the capital Sarajevo, surrounded by Bosnian Serb forces who controlled around 70% of
Bosnia. In Central Bosnia, the mainly Muslim army was fighting a separate war against Bosnian
Croats who wished to be part of a greater Croatia. The presence of United Nations peacekeepers was
required to contain the situation. The idea from culminated in the Yugoslav Peace Conference,

Essay Role and Function of Enobarbous
Consider the role and function of Enobarbus in Antony and Cleopatra
Enobarbus is a vital character and a key element to the success of the play. Emrys Jones view on
Enobarbus is that he is the plays strongest supporting character and structural device of great
importance to the plays dramatic effect. He is portrayed in many forms, honest, likable, high ranking
solider, he is of note trustworthy and a true friend to Antony. Enobarbus and Antony share a deep
friendship. Antony confides in Enobarbus allowing him to speak freely and honestly. When Antony
tells Enobarbus Fulvia is dead he replies with Why, sir, give the gods a thankful sacrifice showing
Enobarbus freedom of speech in private. Enobarbus has to be told his place more than ... Show more

Enobarbus speaks the truth. Wilson Knight states Enobarbus often sees the truth whilst his superiors
blunder at cross purposes. His opinions are spoken bluntly and sometimes at inappropriate times and
sometimes caustic. He joins in with the crowd both in Rome and Egypt. He first appears in the play
with the soothsayer, enjoying the company of Cleopatra s maids showing the audience that he can fit
into both geographical parts of the play with ease and confidence. Although he is portrayed as a
professional soldier he enjoys pleasure too, Most of our fortunes be drunk to bed he is sociable and
humorous and when he sees Cleopatra coming he jokes hush here come Antony. Although he enjoys a
drink he is serious when he is needed for military duty and takes the view work before pleasure
keeping within the Roman ideas of conduct. Wilson Knight states Enobarbus is the moral centre of the
play and through him shows that loyalty and the power of love overshadows common sense and
logical reasoning .
There are four main functions of Enobarbus within the play. He is used as a chorus for example in
commenting on the reconciliation of Antony and Caesar and Antony s marriage to Octavia.
Traditionally Shakespeare would use the chorus role as more of a secondary character to give the
audience an insight into what they should expect throughout the play and create picture like images so
that the audience can appreciate the scenes.

The Toyota Production System ( Tps )
Assembly Plant, Production, Inspection Rome
The Toyota Production System (TPS) is one of the most efficient and comprehensive practice of
managing the company s assembly line and overall supply chain process. This incredible process was
started by Sakichi Toyoda, the founder of Toyoda group. It consists of several management techniques
that mostly originated from Japan. It all started with the concept called Intelligent Automation or
Jidoka. Toyoda devised an automated loom that revolutionized the weaving industry making it
exponentially more efficient than hand weaving which then has been practiced for centuries. As it
relates to Toyota s production line today, the process of Jidoka is still being used and improved with

It might not be universally known but Toyota Motor Inc. pioneered the Just in Time approach to
production. In a nutshell, Just in Time is an approach where a corporation depends on the natural flow
of supply and demand to determine inventory level. The core principle of this approach is to receive
supplies and goods as they are needed thus reducing inventory costs. Toyota depends on its accurate
forecasts and ability to make decisions real time during production to make Just in Time approach be
beneficial to both company efficiency and cost management. Toyota s assembly plant is one of the key
elements in Toyota s supply chain and is one of the focus of its Research and Development
department. Toyota makes a yearly effort to improve efficiency and product quality to make its car
assembly efficient and technologically advanced. The assembly plant process begins with the
stamping shop. A process that utilizes heavy duty machinery to stamp out whole and individual parts
of its cars in batches. Large presses are lined up in a conveyor that progressively cut a car s section
such as door panels and body into shape. These machines work like a team where specialized tasks are
assigned. For example, the first press would produce a basic shape for a door panel, afterwards, the
conveyor will roll the newly shaped steel towards a second press that would then create a curved
appearance. From there, it would then be fed to another press that

No Good Deed Character Analysis
Format, premise, character traits and relationships for the episode analyzed. Daniel, you chose a great
format style for the series, No Good Deed, your analysis was broken down quite well. I do agree with
this series can fall under the drama comedic style of the webisode. You mentioned, Ernest Fiddler, is
blunt and straight to the point. If his son makes a mistake, Ernest tells him his errors without a filter.
The script stated by Ernest to Roy, One, don t let those quacks put me on life support, tubes all stickin
out of me and whatnot. When it s my time, it s my time. This statement proves he was blunt and direct
in his speech. You also mentioned, The main protagonist, Roy Fiddler, has a good sense of justice.
Roy always strives to do what is right, unaware of the problems he might encounter. This is shown in
the script, Roy looks at the flowers and smiles, an idea coming to him. Checking no one s looking, he
ditches the coffee line and salvages the flowers from the trash. Roy had a good sense to do something
good, however, his good deed turns deadly when his father goes into a coma due to an allergic
reaction. Overall, your format, premise, character traits and relationship was well documented. ...

Adolescence Substance Abuse
Being an adolescent myself and having a first hand perspective on adolescent substance abuse, I feel
that I have a certain perspective on the substance abuse and misconduct issues that others may not. An
old friend of mine went through these issues, with continuous and serious substance abuse along with
conduct problems. Personally, I believe that there is a serious lack of justification to begin abusing
substances, however, I understand that there are many factors that are involved when developing an
SUD. In this day and age there is so much information surrounding substances at one s fingertips, the
consequences are clearly outlined in numerous online websites, and television ads, making most
people very aware. I do consider the backgrounds ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I feel that this is an important comparison due to the fact that parents usually have a greater
knowledge surrounding substance abuse and conduct issues, because they have had enough time to
experience and view these situations. It is also important due to the close relationships that parents
have with their children. The perspectives differ in a great way depending on the parent and
adolescent. Undoubtedly, there is not a parent that would wish a SUD or conduct issues on their child,
however, adolescents can see this as a punishment to their parent. In the particular situation that I
experienced my friend and her mother had unequivocal opposing perspectives on the matter, the
adolescent saw substance abuse as a minor action, with minor consequences, to gain that temporary
euphoric state of mind, and to cope with difficult circumstances; while the mother saw this substance
abuse as a major action, with major, life threatening consequences. While the mother believed all of
this, there was almost a lack of following through with the situation, she didn t want to believe that her
daughter could be doing all of these things, so she chose not to see it. I believe that the perspectives of
each group differ due to the considerable age gap and different experiences, while one group (the
adolescent) is enduring hardships during school time, the other group (the parent) could have had
different experiences in school, or has been graduated so long that the hardships of school are
forgotten. The gap of age is important also due to the mother having more first hand experiences and
perspectives on the

Essay on America Needs a New Currency
In the ever changing and uncertain world we live in, peace of mind comes at a premium price. The
federal government is working hard to fix the current economic crisis. James Crowski, the Senior
Counselor of the Economic Relief Advisory Sub Committee in United States Senate, is proposing a
radical shift in the way Americans interact with money. In hopes of reforming and strengthening the
American economy, we propose to replace the primary currency of the United States from coins and
paper tender to gold infused cinder blocks. For example, a 20 dollar brick will have 20 dollars worth
of gold molten into it. After much deliberation says Crowski, we have determined that this is the best
course of action to help the American people to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With wasteful consumer spending decreased, Americans will be able to focus their hard earned dollars
on more important items, such as flat panel LCD s and energy efficient hybrids. Thus Americans
would become less consumer culture. Also, replacing the American currency with cinder blocks would
help curb muggings and other sorts of street violence. Many times, criminals target individuals who
appear to be carrying cash, among other things. However, since cash will become obsolete, individuals
will not be able to carry money with them, thus eliminating a portion of street crime. Another
important aspect of cinder blocks is the ease of use and the convenient nature of them, notes Jim
Louse, author the book, I wish I knew how I Got Here: An Autobiographical Account of How I
Became an Author, a Scholar, and a Beekeeper. In his book he lays out the practical applications of the
cement blocks: First and foremost, these (cinder) blocks can easily be stored as part of a larger
structure. Imagine this; whole houses and even neighborhoods created out of these blocks. People s
houses will literally become their money. This gives homeowners incentives to keep their houses in a
clean condition. If their house s walls are made out of these blocks, and these blocks represent their
money they have an incentive to keep the walls of their

Analysis Of The Book The Ego Trick Essay
The purpose of The Ego Trick was to find the pearl of self the place where the self resides. However,
as Julian Baggini further progressed he discovered that there is no pearl of self, there is no single place
where the self resides. Once this realization was discovered he then proceeded to argue that instead of
a single place where the self resides there is actually multiple places. This is called the bundle theory.
During this book report I will present his three arguments for the bundle theory and what he calls the
Ego Trick, I will also present why the self is not an illusion. I will then discuss my thoughts on what
was true and what was false. I will then conclude with the most important ideas presented in Julian s
book The Ego Trick. Julian s first argument that he presents is that the unity of self is psychological.
He begins this argument by introducing John Locke s definition of a person as a thinking intelligent
being that has reflection and can consider itself as itself, the same thinking thing in different times and
places. Through this definition we can deduce that there is no immaterial soul. The continuity of some
non physical part cannot ensure the continuity of the person. Through Locke s definition, it gives rise
to the possibility that there are other things that can be considered persons rather than just humans. As
long as these things are intelligent things that can reflect and consider itself as itself then they are
capable of

Description Of A Graph
Use the map to create a graph where vertices represent street intersections and edges represent streets.
Define c(u,v) = 1 for all edges (u,v). Since a street can be traversed, start off by creating a directed
edge in each direction, then make the transformation to a flow problem with no antiparallel edges as
described in the section. Make the home the source and the school the sink. If there exist at least two
distinct paths from source to sink then the flow will be at least 2 because we could assign f(u,v) = 1
for each of those edges. However, if there is at most one distinct path from source to sink then there
must exist a bridge edge (u, v) whose removal would disconnect s from t. Since c(u, v) = 1, the flow
into u is at most 1. We may ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Exercise 26.2 10
Suppose we already have a maximum flow f. Consider a new graph G where we set the capacity of
edge (u, v) to f (u, v). Run Ford Fulkerson, with the mod ification that we remove an edge if its flow
reaches its capacity. In other words, if f(u,v) = c(u,v) then there should be no reverse edge appearing
in residual network. This will still produce correct output in our case because we never exceed the
actual maximum flow through an edge, so it is never advantageous to cancel flow. The augmenting
paths chosen in this modified version of Ford Fulkerson are precisely the ones we want. There are at
most |E| because every augmenting path produces at least one edge whose flow is equal to its capacity,
which we set to be the actual flow for the edge in a maximum flow, and our modification prevents us
from ever destroying this progress.
Problem 26 5
a. Since the capacity of a cut is the sum of the capacity of the edges going from a vertex on one side to
a vertex on the other, it is less than or equal to the sum of the capacities of all of the edges. Since each
of the edges has a capacity that is ≤ C, if we were to replace the capacity of each edge with C, we
would only be potentially increasing the sum of the capacities of all the edges. After so changing the
capacities of the edges, the sum of the capacities of all the edges is equal to C|E|, potentially an
overestimate of the original capacity of any cut, and so of the minimum cut.

Analysis Of A Sand County Almanac By Aldo Leopold
The book, A Sand County Almanac, by Aldo Leopold in 1949 describes the importance of idea land
ethics. Aldo Leopold is considered to be the father of wildlife management and of the U.S wilderness
system. Born in 1887 in Burlington, Iowa, he went on to write a book that sold over 2 million copies.
His book in many ways could almost be described as the conservationist bible. The Sand County
Almanac challenged people to change their views of nature, and to take a more active role in the
conservation of it.
In his book, Leopold introduced the idea of land ethic. He states that all human actions are directed by
their ethic. He understood than ethics helped teach people how they ought to live their lives, and/or

Animal Farm Allegory
Animal Farm, Czar Nicholas II, what do they have in common? The book Animal Farm by George
Orwell is an allegory for the Russian Revolution. One allegory can be seen through Czar Nicholas II,
who represents Mr.Jones. In Animal Farm the animals defeat and overthrow Mr.Jones, an inadequate
farmer who mistreats his animals. The animals try to recover from the horrible reign of Mr.Jones, and
the story is about how they live after overthrowing the farmer. Czar Nicholas II and Mr.Jones both
struggled with their subjects and eventually were not fit to be leaders anymore so lost the right to rule.

Nicholas lived in a huge palace while the rest of his citizens lived in tiny houses. This resembles
Mr.Jones because Mr. Jones ate a lot of food and drank while his animals were starving and working
themselves to the bone. Both leaders failed their citizens, and this failure eventually led to an uprising.
Besides both being bad leaders, they both were overthrown from their position. The starvation was
more than the hungry animals could bear and so the animals overthrew Mr.Jones (Orwell 19).
Mr.Jones and his men were overthrown and thrown off the farm, they were run off, and the animals
were in control of the farm. Czar Nicholas II s citizens could also only take so much, in one article it
said that no army could sustain such losses (Selcer 4). Czar Nicholas II s people could only take so
much, like how the animals on Mr.Jones s farm could only take so much mistreatment. Czar Nicholas
II was thrown out by his subjects and from there he was eventually executed. Both of these people
were overthrown because of their poor leadership. Besides both being leaders who couldn t hold onto
their power, Mr.Jones and Czar Nicholas II were both the last of their kind to rule. Mr.Jones was the
last human farmer to be the boss at Manor Farm, and Czar Nicholas II was the last czar of Russia.

The Flies Over The Philippines, Indonesia And Much Of The...
Enroute:
Enroute to Darwin the airliner flies over the Philippines, Indonesia and much of the Indian Ocean. The
flight is around 2300 nautical miles (4300km) and in the Airbus A320 travelling at approximately
430kt (800km/hr) it will take five hours and twenty minutes.
ITCZ:
This flight travels straight through the Inter Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ). This is a belt of low
pressure where the northeast and southeast tradewinds meet, pushing air upwards. It is situated around
the equator but moves seasonally following the suns zenith point. The ITCZ appears as a belt of
clouds, which is responsible for the wet and dry season in the tropics. This area is also known for its
strong convective weather. Any aircrew that is travelling through this region needs to be aware of the
conditions associated with ITCZ and the relative tradewinds as it can jeopardize the safety of the
aircraft.
An active ITCZ has strong tradewinds causing solid lines of active Cumulonimbus (Cb) with other
types of clouds at higher levels. Due to the instability and predominantly vertical movement of air the
cloud development can be extreme with the tops reaching up to 55,000ft and can be some 300nm
wide. At this scale it is hard to avoid the clouds and determining whether the ITCZ is in an active or
inactive stage is hard as they develop and decay reasonably quickly. Not only will there be large cloud
formation but it will also be fairly saturated especially when over oceanic regions. An active ITCZ is

Skin Breakdown Paper
Background For my practice I was fortunate to be able to work at the Bethany in Cochrane. This
facility was well kept and has much of the equipment to properly and holistically care for their
residents. While in practice, I was able to help with a variety of tasks, including morning care and bed
making. An essential element of morning care was a skin assessment, typically to look for bruises, dry
spots, and most importantly, ulcers. Ulcers are painful and can decrease quality of life (Ricci, 2013).
Skin breakdown is typically caused by moisture, skin pH, microorganisms, and friction (Flynn, 2011).
The use of stretchy polyester cotton blend sheets at the facility led to the inquiry of skin integrity and
the influence of fabrics on aging skin. I began to wonder if fabric breathability make that much of a
difference, which lead me to the question of fabrics and facts. Does the use of polyester sheets, cotton
sheets, or cotton polyester blend sheets decrease the risk of skin breakdown in long term ... Show

For this study researchers assessed 32 different fabrics made of polyester, cotton, viscose fibers,
polypropylene, and a blend of the fabrics to determine the thermal conductivity, the wicking ability,
the breathability of the fabric, and the fabrics ability to absorb water (Basal Ilgaz, 2009). In order to
collect accurate data researchers used an Alambeta thermos tester, a specialized machine to measure
heat and moisture. In this study, polyester and cotton alone caused higher thermal resistance than a
cotton polyester blend (Basal Ilgaz, 2009). A strait cotton or polyester blend was found to be better at
wicking away moisture, which is one of the main causes of skin breakdown (Basal Ilgaz, 2009). In the
conclusion of the study the researchers determined that channeled polyester was the best choice for
bedsheets due to combined factors (Basal Ilgaz,

  • 3. Letter From Heaton Manor Letter Heaton manor letter After reading the letter from Heaton manor I realised that this letter was written in formal. This is because the way the writer has authored this it looks professional. The letter was drafted to the students parents about a trip. They used the words Dear at the beginning and Yours Faithfully at the end of the page, this is used if the name of the person isn t known. However, they wrote the letter to the parents and carers because if they didn t do this, they would have found it crucial and more complicated, because its harder to write the letter to each parent. Although, it would have been exceeding if they wrote to each parent, because this would make the parents know that they have taken their time to write to each parent so their child could go to the trip. Also, they have added the date. This material is added to show when the letter was written. The address isn t added . Previously stated, this is because it would have taken the Head of ICT longer . Especially because they might not know the addresses of each student. Also, most of the logos are either combined at the top or at the bottom of the page. This is used to show which company or school this is from. In this letter the colour which is mostly used is blue. Lastly, the logo itself has the colour blue and this makes the letter emerge. However, the school doesnt t give an option to the parents because the children would need to go their to check. Not only would they need to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. I Had Always Considered Myself A Writer Essay I had always considered myself a writer. I had always found comfort in identifying with the title of writer. I had the cliché I was born a writer stories to back up this self given idealistic position. I was drawing full length picture books at the age of three, before I even knew how to string together a coherent sentence in the written word. By five, I had no trouble whipping out a thrilling (maybe for a kindergartener) story that I begged my grandma to type up for me, considering I was not yet equipped with the skills that I needed to pen a novel by hand. Throughout, the rest of my schooling, I excelled in anything that required using the English language, particularly when it came to essays or reading comprehension assessments. It was these experiences that I used to internally quell the uneasy feelings that arose when people asked me what my hobbies were and I told them I m a writer. I was uneasy, undoubtedly due to the fact that I had not actually written anything of actual significance outside of the classroom since I was very (very) young. Once I reached college, it became clear that how I defined myself as a writer would play a central part in shaping who I was. My first notable foray into authorship was in the first grade, during what I will reluctantly admit was a strong My Little Pony phase. Like most budding artists, it was manic obsession that drove me to create an entire, vivid world where rainbow pastel ponies were the characters and the setting was a ... • 5. Investigating The Combined Heat Transfer I. Abstract: The main objectives of this experiment are to determine the combined heat transfer (Qr + Qc) from a horizontal cylinder in natural convection over a wide range of power inputs and surface temperature. Also to compare between convection and radiation heat transfer and between Hc and Hr. Moreover, to determine the effect of forced convection and to show the relation between air velocity and surface temperature for forced convection. And demonstrate that the local heat transfer coefficient varies around the circumference of a horizontal cylinder when subjected to forced convection. In Exp # 1, the voltage was continuously changing until the heater temperature (T10) reach the steady state condition and at this time, T10 was recorded to get Qr and Qc. In Exp # 2, the voltage was kept constant while the air velocity was changing continuously and T10 was recorded at the state condition to determine Qf and Qr. In Exp # 3, the angular position and air velocity were changing continuously and T10 was recorded at the state condition. The error percentage in Experiment #1 between Qc experimental and Qc theoretical ranges is between 0.95% and 10.7% while the error in Qr experimental and Qr theoretical ranges from 7.9% to 21.5%. Finally, the error percentage in Experiment #2 between Qtot theoretical and Qtot experimental ranges from 5.6% to 6.22%, while the error in Qt theoretical and Qin ranges from 50.5% to 80.5%. II. • 6. College At Oneonta For My Masters All of my experiences in life have lead me to apply to SUNY College at Oneonta for my Masters of Science in Education. I have many goals, both professional and academic that are related to school counseling. All throughout school I had many inspirational school counselors that molded who I am today. This set me up for success in my college career. Upon entering college, I began to appreciate the importance of planning and organization in order to build the life I wanted for myself. While completing the application process for graduate school I realized that everything I had done over the years lead to this moment. I thoroughly enjoyed applying for schools, only because I had the confidence and motivation from my many mentors and counselors surrounding me. My friends would ask for my assistance everyday during their own educational planning and I knew I wanted to make a career out of it. During these experiences, I learned the importance of discovering a meaningful life path. This is the most important aspect I will instill in the students I work with on a daily basis. I was lucky enough to have an amazing counselor at my undergraduate college. Jennifer Rooney, Director of Career Development and Engagement at St. Joseph s College, provided me with amazing advice regarding school counseling. She motivated me to follow through with my dream and encouraged me to use my past experiences as a way to succeed in the field of School Counseling. Working with children is my ... Wireless Communication Advantages And Disadvantages ABSTRACT In this global world of technologies where the communication is being modern day by day, on every other day the new technologies are being invented so in this vast world of growing technologies the cognitive radio network is another addition and a step toward fast and secure communication. Cognitive radio network is the network used for wireless communication which uses the spectrum of frequencies. It is an intelligent network in a sense that it can recognize the channels in use or vacant, the ability of this network is that it can shift the data on vacant channel without letting the other busy channel get disturbed. It is an amazing approach toward the wireless technology being used in present era of technology where the radios will be able to use the spectrum of frequencies in a new and classy way. This technology will be able to sense and identify the changes environmentally in its surrounding and can change its configuration according to present situations so that CRN can demonstrate the best result which can be achieved. The CRN use most probable techniques by which the quality of communication can be improved. This technology is able to modify or change the parameters of its transmitter for an improved communication experience for user. The radios used earlier were carried with an assumption of working on spectrum band considered as to be idle of interference there was no need of bestowing these radios the ability to change the parameters of its transmitter, channel or spectrum. Through distinction xMax cognitive radios are able to sense the environment excellently by which then the CRN will notice which spectrum is not used thus immediately use the vacant spectrum for receiving and sending the data also it will come to know if there is any sort of interference has occurred on frequencies being used it do pay sharp glimpse on such interference. Psychoactive Drugs Through Human History Psychoactive Drug Through History Reaction As I listened to the podcast Psychoactive Drugs Through Human History the whole video was a learning experience for me, most of what he said I was hearing for the first time. Usually when you hear about drugs in school or from people all you hear are drugs are bad, they are addicting and can kill you, you never hear about the details or that some drugs are good. So as Doctor Weil explains the many different drugs and the Cultures that use them, I was surprised at most of what he said. The most surprising was that there is no good or bad drug, any drug can be used either intelligently or stupidly, I have never heard it said that way. How Does Jane Tompkins Conflict With The American Indians In the document, quot;Indians: Textualism, Morality, and The Problem of History, quot; Jane Tompkins examines the conflicts between the English settlers and the American Indians. After examining several primary sources, Tompkins found that different history books have different perspectives. It wasn t that the history books took different angles that was troubling, but the viewpoints contradicted one another. People who experience the same event told it through their reality. This becomes a problem when a person who didn t experience the effect wants to know what happened. Calvin Martin, author of Keepers of the Game saw the European settlement as an invasion of the Indian s spiritual relationship with the animals. Because of fur trade with the Europeans, the Indian s discontinued their spiritual ritual of worshipping the animal s carcass. When disease started spreading among the Indians, brought over by the Europeans, they thought it was because the spirits were angry with them. • 12. What Is The Theme Of Beauty In Night Of The Ninjas Morgan Le Fay is an old character who has gone through many changes in her characterization and personality since she was introduced to literature in The Life of Merlin. Morgan went from being a benevolent goddess in the medieval times to a sultry witch in the modern world. The 1868 poem Earthly Paradise portrays Morgan as a beautiful enigma whose looks are paralyzing and powerful. Since Earthly Paradise was written in Victorian times, beauty was highly focused on; it was culturally expected for women to exert tremendous amounts of energy on the way they looked. On the other hand, Night of the Ninjas focuses more on Morgan s ability to time travel to different historical periods rather than her aesthetic. Because Night of the Ninjas is from modern times, beauty and perfection are not as important as they were in the Victorian era, so Morgan s powers are highly valued and her looks are downplayed. The variations in the way different aspects of Morgan are emphasized is due to what each culture values. Earthly Paradise, by William Morris, highlights the Victorian way of thinking by emphasizing Morgan Le Fay s beauty. This intense focus on her beauty is unique to this poem, which offers a window into how people experienced beauty in the 19th century. Beauty was meant to be shown off and compared, so many upper class women went to great lengths to perfect themselves. Nowadays our perceptions of beauty are more private and personal; we find beauty in unexpected places, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. Correlation Between Dietary Sugar Intake And Risk For Cancer The body requires sugar (Espat, 2015). However, there is recent speculation that sugar can cause cancer. More than one million people in the United States (US) get cancer each year (American Cancer Society, 2016). Most Americans eat more than double the recommended daily intake of sugar each day (Espat, 2015). According to the Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2015 2020, individuals should not consume more than 10% of their calories from sugar (US Department of Agriculture, 2016). While increased sugar intake can lead to other issues, such as obesity, which is associated with cancer, diabetes and cancer occur together more often than would be expected by chance alone (Oncology Nutrition, 2016). The purpose of this study is to provide additional information on a topic that should be of great importance to the public. Everyone should be informed of preventable factors that can be linked to an increased risk of cancer. This study will explore the correlation between dietary sugar intake with risk for cancer. Many experts argue over the relation of sugar and cancer, and very little research has been done on the topic. The University of Texas: MD Anderson Cancer Center associates obesity, a result of high sugar diets, to be the actual correlating variable between cancer and sugar (Espat, 2015). However, the Osher Center for Integrative Medicine (Osher Center for Integrative Medicine, 2012) reports that elevated blood sugar levels lead to mutations in DNA, which ... Zen is a form of religious practice of mainly concentrating the mind to a single point in which then results in self realization and/or enlightenment. Zen philosophy is interpreted that all humans are capable of reaching enlightenment, which is generally blocked by ignorance. The idea emphasizes enlightened masters over forms of scriptures, and is the least academic of all the Buddhist schools. The beliefs and traditions Zen Buddhism holds has been very influential on western society, which makes Zen one of the most well known school of Buddhism in America. The main ideas ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Zen Buddhism has a reputation for being unfathomable or an incomprehensible type of religion. Much of that reputation is derived from koan practice. Buddhist priest Myoan Eisai introduced Zen in Japan in 1191 after receiving a certification as a Zen teacher in China, as a disciple of Xuan Huaichang. Along with his certification, Eisai also brought Zen scriptures and tea seeds in which he used when immediately opening the first Zen temple in Japan. Rinzai and Soto are the two sub divisions of Zen, and are the two largest Zen sects in Japan today. Rinzai was brought to Japan by Eisai in the 12th century and focuses on sudden enlightenment. This practice believes that unless one awakens the absolute, Rinzai will have no effect. Rinzai master Hakuin used koans, a puzzling or paradoxical story or statement for aid in meditation. The most well known koan, what is the sound of one hand clapping? was created by Hakuin Ekaku. Koan, literally meaning public cases is one of the most familiar and distinctive elements of Zen Buddhism. It refers to mysterious and often shocking spiritual expressions, most cases in forms of riddles, based on encounters between masters and disciples of the tradition used as pedagogical tools for religious training in the Zen (Ch an) Buddhist tradition (Wright 3). Most classic koans are derived from the T ang dynasty China. Kung an, the Chinese pronunciation of koan, is a case which establishes a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Unless they attended a private school, which black children seldom did, they did not receive the same education as white students. Robert Russa Moton High School was one of the first and only schools for blacks in Prince Edward County (Heinemann). This school was built in 1939 to hold 180 students, and it lacked in many common things one may find at a white high school, like a gymnasium, cafeteria, science labs, and sports fields (Heinemann). She was the niece of Vernon Johns, a pastor and outspoken civil rights activist (June Friesen). On April 23, 1951, the principle of Morton High, M. Boyd Jones, was lured off campus by a call saying students from Moton were hanging around the bus station instead of being at school. This was the perfect opportunity for Johns to take action and put her idea of going on strike into action. Johns called an assembly where she explained to the student body what was wrong with the condition of their school and the classmates support overwhelmed her. For the rest of the day, the students layered the school inside and out with signs saying things like, We want a new school or none at all or Down with the tar paper shacks (Heinemann). The next day Johns as well as a couple other students went to the Farmville Courthouse where superintendent T.J. Mcllwaine told them nothing would happen if they did not return to class. Fault Tolerance – Application Software Essay examples Fault Tolerance – Application Software Introduction Today s business requirements drive the necessity for software applications that enable organizations to maintain constant and continuous availability. We are living in a 24/7 world. Brick and mortar businesses that only needed to worry about the security of their hard assets after closing for the day now have websites allowing customers to shop online at their convenience. Simply establishing a web presence is not enough to compete in the market. For some applications, software fault tolerance is more of a safety issue than reliability. There can be legal or regulatory requirements to fault tolerance. For many B2B and B2C transactions, fault tolerance is a business decision. There are other organizations whose charter is driven by the implementation of a fault tolerant system. For example, the aviation industry is required to meet strict specifications for hardware and software. Airlines board over 500 million passengers per year. The transportation of such large numbers of human life would demand fault tolerance environments of robust safety and reliability. In the nuclear industry, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission developed a tool to assess software reliability systems by modeling redundant systems with analysis of failure data and calculations of availability. The discrimination of African Americans, Asians, and many other races and ethnicities has been somewhat of an epidemic in Hollywood and the film industry for many years. It is understandable how this topic can upset people and have them pushing for more ethnic diversity in movies. Although many believe the film industry should include more diversity, people also must understand that not all characters can be changed just for the sake of having more diversity in a film. Take historical films for example, directors are not going to make a historical film with actors that do not fit within the roles of the movie. This is different in the case of movies like the Spiderman franchise. This franchise had been looking for an actor to continue the franchise, and had an African American actor in the running for the main role. Even though the previous films had while actors portray the lead, it would have been completely acceptable for an African American actor to take over. • 21. The World s Wife By. Duffy As suggested by the title of the anthology, Duffy s poems within The World s Wife place the focus on women in an inherently patriarchal and male dominated world. This is also true of Mrs Beast , in which Duffy reimagines the traditional fairy tale of The Beauty and the Beast to give Mrs Beast dominance over her husband, as well as financial and emotional independence. The opening lines of Mrs Beast set the tone for the rest of the poem, linking all of the characters mentioned throughout The World s Wife , as well as listing many other women with stories that would fit the themes of the sequence due to their exploitation by men. This acts as a warning to men from Mrs Beast, who sees these women in herself, commenting: so when you ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Moreover, her financial and emotional independence is highlighted by the anaphora of my own , with repetition similar to this used by Duffy throughout The World s Wife , particularly in Little Red Cap . However, the effect of the use of anaphora in Mrs Beast contrasts with its effect in Little Red Cap at the beginning of the sequence, which describes a girl progressing from innocence and naivety at childhood s end to saving herself and becoming independent ten years later. Despite these differences, both poems similarly reimagine fairytales, with Mrs Beast being what Little Red Cap could grow up to become with her new found independence, as Mrs Beast demonstrates her ability to take care of herself and be carried off at one wrong word, / one false move, one dirty look . In juxtaposition with this, the Beast is presented as submissive and similar to a slave rather than as the traditional handsome and arrogant prince of fairytales. Undoubtedly, there is not a parent that would wish a SUD or conduct issues on their child, however, adolescents can see this as a punishment to their parent. In the particular situation that I experienced my friend and her mother had unequivocal opposing perspectives on the matter, the adolescent saw substance abuse as a minor action, with minor consequences, to gain that temporary euphoric state of mind, and to cope with difficult circumstances; while the mother saw this substance abuse as a major action, with major, life threatening consequences. While the mother believed all of this, there was almost a lack of following through with the situation, she didn t want to believe that her daughter could be doing all of these things, so she chose not to see it. However, as Julian Baggini further progressed he discovered that there is no pearl of self, there is no single place where the self resides. Once this realization was discovered he then proceeded to argue that instead of a single place where the self resides there is actually multiple places. This is called the bundle theory. During this book report I will present his three arguments for the bundle theory and what he calls the Ego Trick, I will also present why the self is not an illusion. I will then discuss my thoughts on what was true and what was false. I will then conclude with the most important ideas presented in Julian s book The Ego Trick. Julian s first argument that he presents is that the unity of self is psychological. He begins this argument by introducing John Locke s definition of a person as a thinking intelligent being that has reflection and can consider itself as itself, the same thinking thing in different times and places. Through this definition we can deduce that there is no immaterial soul. The continuity of some non physical part cannot ensure the continuity of the person. Through Locke s definition, it gives rise to the possibility that there are other things that can be considered persons rather than just humans. Make the home the source and the school the sink. If there exist at least two distinct paths from source to sink then the flow will be at least 2 because we could assign f(u,v) = 1 for each of those edges. However, if there is at most one distinct path from source to sink then there must exist a bridge edge (u, v) whose removal would disconnect s from t. Since c(u, v) = 1, the flow into u is at most 1. In other words, if f(u,v) = c(u,v) then there should be no reverse edge appearing in residual network. This will still produce correct output in our case because we never exceed the actual maximum flow through an edge, so it is never advantageous to cancel flow. The augmenting paths chosen in this modified version of Ford Fulkerson are precisely the ones we want. There are at most |E| because every augmenting path produces at least one edge whose flow is equal to its capacity, which we set to be the actual flow for the edge in a maximum flow, and our modification prevents us from ever destroying this progress. Since each of the edges has a capacity that is ≤ C, if we were to replace the capacity of each edge with C, we would only be potentially increasing the sum of the capacities of all the edges. ITCZ: This flight travels straight through the Inter Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ). This is a belt of low pressure where the northeast and southeast tradewinds meet, pushing air upwards. It is situated around the equator but moves seasonally following the suns zenith point. The ITCZ appears as a belt of clouds, which is responsible for the wet and dry season in the tropics.
