This is a team-driven course in which Mechanical Engineering students are placed in teams of four and tasked with developing a cost-efficient and robot that collects tennis balls and golf balls in a small arena designed by the course instructor. The two types of balls are placed in a single bucket and the robot is tasked with collecting the balls in a ball hopper. While in the ball hopper, the balls are to be sorted (tennis balls and golf balls are to be separated), then transported to the two buckets at the arena exit. The tennis balls are dispensed into one bucket and the golf balls are dispensed into the other bucket.
