characteristics of a plant. Blake uses personification in phrases such as my wrath
did grow. / And I watered it in fears and it grew both day and night. / Till it bore an
apple bright (4 5 and 9 10). This shows how this person becomes angrier over time,
fueling their feelings with fear and sadness. The poem ends with the person using
their anger to hurt someone else, only making things worse. This device expresses
the theme because the person in the poem did not do what they should have done.
What they should have done was let things get better on their own, instead they
chose to let their feelings take over. In turn, they became bitter and thirsty for
revenge. Another device Blake uses is imagery because it shows again how this
person let their anger grow. Blake combines the use of personification and imagery

literature that tells about a Union solider in the 304th that finds his courage to fight.
This story of cowardice and valor was published in full during the fall of 1895.

radiates. Crane rights a compelling piece that presents four central themes to the
reader, that develop the main character and stick to the paradigms of the Civil War

According to our textbook written in 2016, Peter Northouse describes the skills
model of leadership with an area for competencies which includes knowledge from
career experiences. Bush held numerous positions that gave him knowledge on
leadership abilities before becoming the president. From his brief military career to
his oil company ventures then moving to politics, Bush gained much knowledge
through his various career experiences. According to Tannenbaum and Schmidt, there
is a continuum of leadership behavior that varies with use of authority by the
manager to freedom of the subordinates. To explain this leadership concept we have
learned in class, we can discuss the presidency of Bush. During Bush s time in office,
Bush explemfied forms of leadership throught the continuum of leadership behavior.
One on side, Bush had to delegate resposibilities to various parts of his staff, he also
had to consult on multiple occasions with experienced indivuals on matters such as
the economy and military, and finally he had to make ultimate decisions because he
was the president. Also Northouse brings to our attention Blake and Mouton s
Managerial Grid. In this grid it describes team management as the type of leader that

Peace as a concept is seen through the lens of the fundamental problems faced by the
world today: war, armed conflict and political violence. By insinuation, peace itself is
understood predominantly as a negative concept, or as the absence of these
phenomena (Atack, 2009).
Martin Luther King said that True peace is not merely the absence of some negative
force tension, confusion or war; it is the presence of some positive force justice,
good will and brotherhood (King, 1957). Indeed, peace should focus on the positive
social and political phenomena such as integrity, equality and wellbeing. In order to
create a peaceful world, humans have to strive for positive peace, a condition
brought about by establishing standards of justice, human rights, and sustainable
development in beloved communities (Harris, 1996, p. 386). Gandhiji too described
his ideas of peace with a focus on the positive, according to him peace includes:
(i) Peace implies the capacity to live together in harmony.
(ii) The creation of non violent social systems, i.e., a society free from structural
violence.
(iii) The absence of exploitation and injustice of every kind.
(iv) International cooperation and understanding.
(v) Ecological balance and conservation.
(vi) Peace of mind, or the psycho spiritual dimension of peace. (NCERT, 2006)
These positive views of peace lead us beyond the limited negative associations the
notion is centered around. It is important to understand that the concept
