The Art of Brand Naming Essay
Do you ever like a brand, and everything that they have to offer, bit then you think to yourself what a
stupid name though! ? While a crappy name won t nesesarily doom a company for success, it can be a
hurdle to overcome if botched. The art and science of great naming is absolutely about balancing a
confluence of core concepts:
Companies should focus on domain name availability, descriptiveness, trademark strength, originality,
length, integrity (the bigger picture of the name and brand), and lastly, the name s tested market
appeal.
We don t ever want to find ourselves naming exclusively reaching for one particular aspect of a name,
as there is a bigger picture to be considered.
Being integral: There is a major plus when a name can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are exceptions, like Trader Joe s named for founder Joe Coulombe, and of course the
eponymous Ben and Jerry s Ice cream. Don t confuse their existing goodwill with the difficulty
inherent to how hard it may have been overcoming a plain name although one could say their names
made them approachable given the lack of seriousness to say, ice cream.
As an example and amusing execercise, think of many quirky and cleverly named brands and imagine
the inverse of the Trader Joes or Ben and Jerry s format, e.g. if Naked Juice had been the less than
inspiring Dave s Juice for co founder David Bleeden. Dave s Juice also would totally lack the quasi
edginess that Naked Juice has, and is totally forgettable.
Legal Research: EatMyWords Founder Alexandra Watkins advises on the legal loose ends of naming
your business, For initial trademark screens, you can do free searches on Trademarkia.com and the
government s trademark database, TESS, at USPTO.gov. Use these to knock out potential conflicts,
then hire an attorney to do a thorough search. This is not something you want to skimp on.
Domain name availability. Companies with a substantial amount of liquid capital have the luxury to
come up with a name for their business that has a domain they will need to buy in

The Inevitable Accident
It was the evening before the 4th, me my older brother Alex and my Dad were staying at my
grandmother s old, repainted house in Wakefield Massachusetts on North Ave right next to Lake
Quannapowitt. All my family members get together every 4th of July at my grandmother s house and
have a huge barbeque, watch the parade and catch up on what happened since the last 4th. My oldest
brother Jake lives in Massachusetts and attends the University of Massachusetts Lowell (UML). He
was staying with us so he could drive us around and just hang out as a family again. At around 8:00pm
Jake s blue Samsung touch screen phone vibrated on the coffee table as we were watching Wheel of
Fortune. His college friend Andrew sent him a text message reading whacha doin, wanna hang out? .
My brother then replied nothin much, chilin with my fam, sure . My brother asked if Alex and me
wanted to go with him, but as always we had to get permission from my dad, A.K.A. the safety king,
and surprisingly enough he answered sure you can go, just be safe and be back by 10:00 . As me and
Alex put our Nikes on, Jake was waiting in his red 2001 Chrysler Sebring, ready to go to Andrew s
house. When we arrived at Andrew s house, well really his mom s house that was away for the
summer in Florida, we went to his backyard, where there was an old moldy wooden shed and thick,
dried grass that looked like it hadn t been cut in months. Andrew and two of his friends, Ashley and

U.s. Presidential Election Elections Essay
In due course of the most recent decade, there has been a significant surge in American independent
voters. It is of verifiable significance to put into thought the effects of these voters, especially, since
the United States (U.S.) currently undergone its eagerly awaited 2016 Presidential General Election. It
is with relevance to presidential elections that we have seen a political surge on American independent
voters and thus having political candidates attempt to sway their view, we have seen fundamental
compelling percentages on these election outcomes.
This case study crafts the breakdown of potential variables that have prompted to the sharp ascent in
American independent voters in previous political history, and the voting behavior to authentic
elements adding to Independent voters decisions. Specifically, to what extent do factors shape the
voting behavior on the increasing rise of the American Independent voter choice and voter turnout in
the 2016 United States Presidential Election? By extension, how do independents differ in part from
the two major partisan ties of the Democratic and Republican parties?
As per the United States voting framework, an independent voter is a non fanatic electorate who is not
subsidiary with a specific political gathering. Independents can either be immaculate or inclining.
Inclining Independents tend to vote for the gathering they incline more towards along these lines they
are mostly divided in that sense. Immaculate

Flaws Of Democracy
In regard to Natasha and Graham s point, while oligarchies have potential flaws there are also a
number of issues with the democratic system. For starters, true democracy is not well suited for
government because it requires an entire nation to vote and run a country while maintaining their
normal lives. As a result, America and many other countries are actually Republics or representative
democracies. However, even these systems of government have many inherent flaws. For starters, for
a democracy or even a representative democracy to work the voting electorate must be informed
accurately. This proves to be impossible in real society due to the mass of issues and the trouble with
biased media. For example, the United States today functions

The Theme of Escape in The Glass Menagerie Essay
The Theme of Escape in The Glass Menagerie In The Glass Menagerie, Tennessee Williams uses the
theme of escape to help drive the play forward. None of the characters are capable of living in the real
world. Laura, Amanda, Tom and Jim use various methods to escape the brutalities of life. Laura
retreats into a world of glass animals and old records. Amanda is obsessed with living in her past. Tom
escapes into his world of poetry writing and movies. Jim also reverts to his past and remembers the
days when he was a high school hero. Mr. Wingfield is referred to often throughout the play. He is the
ultimate symbol of escape. This is because he has managed to remove himself from the desperate
situation that the rest of the family is still ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She is unable to cope with reality and she escapes back into her fantasy world of old records and glass
figurines. Amanda is obsessed with her past, and uses it to escape reality, as she constantly reminds
Tom and Laura of the time she received seventeen gentlemen callers. The reader cannot even be sure
that this actually happened. However, it is clear despite its possible falseness, Amanda has come to
believe it. She refuses to acknowledge that her daughter is crippled and refers to her handicap as
quot;a little defect hardly noticeable quot; (Williams 1648). Only for brief moments does she ever
admit that her daughter is quot;crippled quot; and then resorts back to denial. Amanda doesn t perceive
anything realistically. She believes that this gentleman caller, Jim is going to be the man to rescue
Laura and she hasn t even met him yet. When Jim arrives, Amanda is dressed in a quot;girlish frock
quot; she wore on the day that she met their father and she regresses to the childish, giddy days of
entertaining gentleman callers. Amanda uses her past as a means to escape the reality she does not
want to face. Tom escapes reality in many different ways. The first and most obvious is the fire escape
that leads him away from his unhappy home. He also escapes into his world of poetry writing and
movies. The more Amanda nags, the more Tom seems to need his movie escapes. They take him to

Freshman Year Transcripts
Transcripts Throughout my four years of high school, my GPAs have been pretty good. Spring
semester of freshman year was by far the best because I managed to end the year with a 4.0. However,
my classes started to get a little more challenging to me and after that semester, my GPAs started to go
down. I would have to say that my worst year was junior year. I ended the year off with four B s and
only three A s. I would definitely have to say that I let my classes get the best of me that year. Now
that it s my senior year, I now know to never let stress interfere with my grades because it is not worth
it. I hope I can achieve my goal of ending the year with a 4.0.

Darwin´s Theory of Natural Selection and Primates
Darwin s ideas about organic evolution were drawn from the existing forces of knowledge on
evolution developed by Lyell, Malthus, and Lamarck. Although Darwin was not the first thinker about
the concept of evolution, he was a revolutionary in developing a theory of evolution that was
consistent. The distinctive element of the evolutionary theory conceived by Darwin is the way he
viewed species. Darwin considered variation among individuals of a species to be natural. He further
argued that variation, far from being problematic, actually provides the explanation for the existence
of distinct species. Darwin adopted elements from Malthus s theory on population growth and stated
that only those members of a population that are capable ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

B) After gaining a clear understanding of natural selection and its prominence in the theory of
evolution, the possibility of linking human origin with its ancestors (Primates) has become clearer.
Human evolution is characterized by a number of morphological, developmental, physiological, and
behavioral changes but most interestingly the basis for such changes is in understanding the origins of
humans. The Primate order indeed serves as the starting point for human evolution. The Primates are
an ancient and diverse Eutherian group. Although Primates are considered as tropical animals that live
in forest setting, yet they inhabit many kinds of landscapes and live in widely diverse climates.
Primates are divided into two groups, the Strepsirhini and the Haplorhini. Strepsirhines have long
muzzle, wet noses, lower incisors forming a toothcomb, nocturnal, and have an immobile upper lip.
Haplorhines are further divided into two major groups, the Platyrrhini and the Catarrhini. Platyrrhines
include the new world monkeys found mainly in the South and Central America. Catarrhines include
the old world monkeys and Hominoidea. Homioidea are further divided into apes and humans.
The following physical and behavioral characteristics identify Primates as a separate order of

Wireless Networks Can Be Broadly Classified Into Three...
Wireless Networks can be broadly classified into three categories: Infrastructure based networks,
Wireless LANs and Ad Hoc Networks. Infrastructure based networks are traditional cellular systems
which require base station infrastructure. Wireless LANs are very flexible within the reception area. It
requires low bandwidth when compared to wired networks. Ad Hoc networks are useful when the
infrastructure is not available, impractical or expensive to build.
In Cellular Wireless, spaces are divided into cells. Each cell consists of base stations which is
responsible to communicate with the hosts in its cell. Hosts moves from one cell to cell to another and
hand off occurs, the new base station takes care of the communication. In Multi hop wireless, mobility
causes a change of route. Hence it need to traverse multiple links to reach destination. Ad hoc network
is a self organizing multi hop wireless network, which relies neither on infrastructure nor on the
predetermined connectivity.
Rapid deployment of mobile users will be the need for the next generation wireless communication
systems. A mobile ad hoc network is a collection of mobile users that communicate over constrained
wireless links with lower bandwidth. Network scenarios which include establishing dynamic
communication for emergency/rescue operations, survivable, efficient, disaster relief efforts and
military networks cannot rely on organized and centralized connectivity. Networks are known as ad
hoc because

The weather has taken a turn for the worse today. The rain is unbearable it s turning the trenches into
large putrid bathing pools. The mud that lines the walls of the trenches is now sloppy and drips upon
the men along side me. Some of the men so I have been told have drown in the mud, simply because
they have been to weak to fight the mud s grasp within these dreadful trenches . It s getting beyond
belief now, I don t know if I can stand much more. I hate to admit it but the last few days I have been
so terrified and upset that I have cried into the depths of my hands. I cant take these conditions before
me any more. My feet ache, my boots are filled with thick mud and my jacket is saturated along with
my lice ridden trousers.
I consider myself lucky compared to some of the other men I have spoken to. Some have lost their
socks, helmets and kit to the over whelming mud. I genuinely feel sorry for the men and more so their

Prescription Drug Prices in the U.S
Prescription Drug Prices in the U.S. The prices of prescription drugs in the United States are by far the
highest in the world. [1] On average, Europeans pay 40% less than Americans for the same
medications. [2] Consumers have been resorting to several ways, sometimes putting themselves in
harm s way, to alleviate the burden of high prescription drug costs. Some buy their medications online
or cross the borders to neighboring countries so they would be able to afford buying their needed
medications. Others have resorted to the illegal act of selling their unused medications in online
forums just to recover part of their expenses. Many factors contribute to the increased drug prices in
the United States including research and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pharmaceutical companies are provided with temporary monopoly rights on the production of new
drugs which result in a higher cost on consumers. If competing companies were allowed to produce
generic forms of those drugs, consumers will be able to afford those medications even in cases where
those consumers have no insurance coverage. The company responsible for developing and inventing
the original medication could be offered incentives to invent in the future by either obtaining tax
breaks or NIH funding for future research. They could even be offered a percentage of the sales of the
generic drugs. Economist Gary S. Becker advocates dropping many FDA requirements that, in his
opinion, provide no additional safety measures but rather delay the development of new drugs.[12]
Betamethasone, for example, has been part of the standard prenatal care in Europe since the late 1970
s while it got adopted in the U.S. after 1997. On many occasions, the FDA ignores all scientific
evidence concerning certain drugs because the manufacturer did not follow their mandated
bureaucratic standards. Many countries such as Canada, India, and the UK have price controls. The
governments of these countries impose regulations that control the prices of new drugs as well as
generics without compromising safety but at the same time they do not burden pharmaceutical

1.05)=10,000,000(.05)=$500,000 expected gain (b) If you were the financial manager of Cray

at what forward exchange rate would Boeing be indifferent between the two hedging methods? IRP

= $1.06/€. 5. Suppose that Baltimore Machinery sold a drilling machine to a Swiss firm and gave the

Baltimore Machinery effectively gave the Swiss client a free option to buy up to $10,000 dollars using
Swiss franc. What is the implied exercise exchange rate? The implied exercise exchange rate is
$0.6667/SF. (10,00/15,000) (b) If the spot exchange rate turns out to be $0.62/SF, which currency do
you think the Swiss client will choose to use for payment? What is the value of this free option for the
Swiss client? I think the Swiss client should choose the option to pay the SF15,000 because with the
spot exchange rate upping to $0.62, that would make the equivalent of $10,000 up to SF16,129. This
is figured like this: 10,000/.62. (c) What is the best way for Baltimore Machinery to deal with the

character s struggle to retain honor and virtue in a world that revolves around profit seeking
delinquency and organized corruption. Marlowe s work as a private detective brings him face to face

of such details and natural speech. Chandler includes many descriptive words, similes, metaphors; yet

Bhutan s gross national happiness
If you don t know about Bhutan s government and their focus over the past forty years than you

for happiness, these pillars are compatible living conditions, religion, maintaining the environment,
and reliable government support. Bhutan s government has decided to take this radical approach,

relatively poor in wealth but rich in culture and happiness.
Only recently has Bhutan started building cities and roads but the country is careful not to jump into

The Ethical Dilemmas of Genetic Testing for Huntington s...
The Ethical Dilemmas of Genetic Testing for Huntington s Disease
INTRODUCTION Huntington s Disease (HD) is an autosomal dominant, progressive,
neurodegenerative disorder (Walker, 2007 and Harmon, 2007). The gene that causes the disease is
located on the fourth chromosome and causes an abnormal number of repeats in the patient s genetic
code (Harmon, 2007). Huntington s Disease can have devastating effects on patients quality of life.
The first symptoms of HD generally start between the ages of 30 and 45 and patients are typically
asymptomatic prior to this time (Terrenoire, 1992 and Walker, 2007). However, the disease progresses
with subtle changes in motor control, personality, and cognition. Patients eventually develop distinct

However, confidentiality rights also protect the patient s health information and right to privacy.
Another issue that arises concerns the confidentiality of HD diagnoses with relation to insurance
companies. Many patients fear that they will be denied or will no longer be able to afford insurance
coverage if the insurance company learns that they will one day have HD (Ethical issues of genetic
diagnosis, 2007). Insurance companies may also begin to mandate that genetically related individuals
undergo predictive genetic testing for HD if one family member develops the disease (Ethical issues
of genetic diagnosis, 2007). Another ethical debate reigns in the choice for HD patients to have
children and in prenatal screening for HD. Since HD is generally not diagnosed until later in life,
many patients have children before their HD diagnosis (Ethical issues of genetic diagnosis, 2007). The
children of one parent with HD have a 50% chance of developing the disease themselves. However, if
a patient tests positive for the gene that causes Huntington s disease before having children, conflicts
could arise between partners about whether or not to even have children (Ethical issues of genetic
diagnosis, 2007 and Tassicker, Savulescu, Skene, Marshall, Fitzgerald Delatycki, 2003). The
predictive genetic test for HD can also be performed before a baby is born. If

The Celebration Of Womanhood By Maya Angelou
The Celebration of Womanhood
Women s beauty has been one of the favorite subjects of many literary works. Many genius authors
have admired women s physical beauty according to their imaginations. However, their literary works,
the male dominated society and the female community have also served as accomplices in creating
notion about the beauty of women. In our society, it is believed that a woman should have fair skin,
hourglass figure and long hair to attain the title of a beautiful woman . This notion has degraded the
stature of the entire female community instead of elevating it. The revolutionary poet, Maya Angelou,
tried to break this notion by writing a poem to give tribute to an average looking woman who can

audacious personality Maya was. Being a modernist writer, Maya Angelou uses imagery to compare
her physical attributes such as her smile, gesture to the worldly objects. The use of symbolism is also

Why Lycoming College
There are several reasons why Lycoming college would be great for me. The programs the offer, clubs
and its location. Out of all the majors to choose from, i find myself most interested in psychology,
physics and astrophysics. Psychology and physics are a very close match. Either way a science related
course and career is what i am after. Looking at lycoming being in the five percent in the nation to
have a lab be apart of the introductory class. Along with the physics class at the school having much
opporunity within and outside of the class. In addition to that i would minor in philosophy in science ,
without a doubt. i belive that would aid me in any of the majors i would be interested in. One other
thing is how close lycoming college

David Sedaris Analysis
By listening the reading, the meaning of the story changes by the way David Sedaris reads. His
reading can be compared to the telling of story, so his tone and the voice use in some sentences

elements in this story in which David Sedaris exemplifies literary terms. Some of them are: 1. Setting

The Current Situation And Future Requirements Of Data...
(1) Design In order to understand the current situation and future requirements of data storage for
higher education in China, questionnaires and interviews about current systems and platforms are
necessary. Questionnaires are one of quantitative methods to investigate some basic questions which
may not accurately. Interviews one on one through face to face, telephone or Skype is one of
qualitative methods to develop a deep understanding which may not academic. However, data from
existing literature and text mining research are more accurate and academic which may only show the

As for higher education survey, the questionnaire method is the best method as the respondents are
well educated. Recently, the majority of the higher education surveys have been adopted this method
and achieved the goals of research. The advantages of using this method in higher education are: (1) it
is easy to control and design questionnaires as each surveyed system has single users (2) it is well
applied as the respondents are well educated (3) the questionnaire method is time saving, low cost (4)
it is good to have anonymous questionnaires (5) the information from the questionnaires is easy to
analysis (6) it can avoid subjective biases and human errors. Target samples: students and teachers
who are studying or work at the university. Sample size: 150 250 persons in each university

3d Printing Or Additive Manufacturing
3D printing or additive manufacturing is a process of making three dimensional solid objects from a
digital file. The creation of a 3D printed object is achieved using additive processes. In an additive
process an object is created by laying down successive layers of material until the entire object is
created. Each of these layers can be seen as a thinly sliced horizontal cross section of the eventual
object. It all starts with making a virtual design of the object you want to create. This virtual design is
made in a CAD (Computer Aided Design) file using a 3D modeling program (for the creation of a
totally new object) or with the use of a 3D scanner (to copy an existing object). A 3D scanner makes a
3D digital copy of an object. 3D scanners use different technologies to generate a 3d model from
something that already exists. Recently, many IT companies like Microsoft and Google enabled their
hardware to perform 3D scanning, a great example is Microsoft s Kinect. This is a clear sign that
future hand held devices like smartphones will have 3D scanners. To digitize real objects into 3d
models will become as easy as taking a picture. Prices of 3D scanners range from very expensive
professional industrial devices to devices anyone can make at home. To prepare a digital file for
printing, the 3D modeling software slices the final model into hundreds or thousands of horizontal
layers. When the sliced file is uploaded in a 3D printer, the object

Comparing Two Art Styles
In the study of the Humanities one can find a vast list of the different styles and periods of artwork.
The dilemma comes in when taking two different artist with different styles from different time
periods and comparing and contrasting them. The ability to contrast would be facile, but the truth
hides behind the ability to compare such divergent artwork. Artwork that one may look at first glance
and find more dissimilar, then finding the juxtaposition of the two pieces of artwork. Even though
Poussin and Toulouse Lautrec s pieces of artwork can be considered different at first sight, looking
more in depth into both pieces one will be able to find several contrasts and comparisons. The
different styles and time periods can not take away from the parallel that both pieces posess. These
artists have a dissimilar style and outlook on women partly due to the difference in era s.
The first work of art chosen is Nicolas Poussin, The Rape of the Sabine Women, that can be found in

Relationship Between Customers And Employees At Caje And...
Introduction:
The focus of my study will be examining the relationships between customers and employees at CAJÉ
and what behavioral patterns customers conduct when reacting with one another. I will be looking at
the motivations behind customers to go to CAJÉ and the sense of trust that strangers share with one
another while at the Café. I wanted to ask why students are more inclined to trust others to watch their
belongings while they leave the CAJÉ? Additionally, what motivates people to go to CAJÉ?
Methods:
In order to collect my data, I practiced participant observation through going to CAJÉ and sitting at
various tables each time. I took typed up observations on my computer which looked similar to

noticed that a few other students asked others to watch their stuff. When interviewing an student
employee she told me that I leave my stuff at a table and will leave for up to an hour and nothing bad
has ever happened to any of my things .
Students come to CAJÉ for various reasons. The majority of come to CAJÉ because they enjoy doing
school work there, it s a good meeting spot, friendly staff, to socialize, good coffee green tea matcha.
During one of my interviews, the interviewee stated that I love to study at CAJÉ, but I can never really

observed the majority of the students in the café were on their laptops and what appeared to be

Nearly all of the students had their earphones in while studying, regardless of the music that was being

The Pan African Consciousness
I know no national boundary where the Negro is concerned. The whole world is my province until
Africa is free (Garvey). These words by Marcus Garvey perfectly illustrate the spirit of unification that
characterized the attitude of many people of African Descent as a direct result of the callous treatment
that Africa as a whole suffered at the hands of Europeans. Europe not only ravished Africa of a
significant resource in the millions of lives that it stole and enslaved. Europe also pillaged the
continent with the brutal institution of colonization. The manacles of colonization inspired great
suffering in the lands and lives of Africans examples include Land exploitation, labor exploitation and

It is at this point that Cesaire argues the permanent malnutrition is introduced. This production of cash
crops led to famine in the lands of The Congo and thusly caused permanent damage in the lives of the
colonized. This damage led to the aspect of the Pan African movement that celebrated Africa. One
very important idea pushed by Marcus Garvey, who is known as the father of the Pan African
Movement, is that Africa was the ancestral home and spiritual cradle of all African descended peoples,
the scene of past and future glory ( Lynch 31). Garvey thought it was very important that the continent
be freed from tyrannous European imperialist grasp (Lynch 31). The ideas that Garvey postulated
about Africa were founded in the consequences of Europe s misuse of the land.
Another way that European colonization caused harm to Africans is through labor exploitation. Death,
taxation, and torture were tools used to enforce labor policies. After Europeans confiscated African
land, they proceeded to charge Africans taxes to inhabit the land. They charged the taxes in a manner
that required Africans to work for Europeans in order to pay. The railway line in The Congo, Ivory
recovery, cash crop cultivation and rubber extraction were all tasks performed by Africans. Africans
most often worked without pay. Europeans however made

fast and furious fast bowlers, and its acrobatic fielders, and undisputed champions of the world for 19
years up to 1995, is now at rock bottom and looks like getting deeper and deeper.

good bet is that the West Indies days are numbered.

Shirley Chisholm Research Paper
Shirley Chisholm is the definition of an independent black woman. Chisholm is a model of
independence, honesty, and has been a part of many historical issues including civil rights, aid to the
poor, and women s rights. Who Shirley Chisholm is was unknown to me. After days of researching, I
have developed a clear understanding of who Shirley Chisholm is. Chisholm was an educator, activist,
author, and politician. She is best known as the first African American woman elected to United States
Congress and the first woman and African American to run for president of the United States.
Chisholm s maiden name was Shirley Anita St. Hill, born on November 30, 1924. Chisholm was born
in the impoverished Bedford Stuyvesant section of New York. Her father was an emigrant from
Guyana who worked as an unskilled laborer. Her mother who was a native of Barbados, she was a
seamstress along with a domestic worker. Due to their lack of money Chisholm s parents had to

Allegory In Narnia Chronicles, Third, Polly And Digory
Books are basic. They are something that someone writes and we read right? Not quite. Most of the
time there are deeper meanings than just what is on the surface. The other part of the book. Typically
this occurs in fantasy/fiction books. Never in non fiction or books like that. Reading fantasy is always
an adventure. It can take you places that nothing else can. It is even better, if there is an entirely
different part to it; a deeper meaning. These are known as allegories. The definition from
dictionary.com says an allegory is a story, poem, or picture that can be interpreted to reveal a hidden
meaning, typically a moral or political one. They are retellings of historical stories in a more
understandable sense. In the Narnia Chronicles, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

without a flash or a noise or a warning of any sort, there was no Polly. (Page 17). They were both
tempted to touch the rings without knowing what would happen next to either of them if they did.
Uncle Andrew made it sound like a good idea to touch it but it turned out to be a terrible one. This is
what happens with satan s ideas all of the time. Also, like in the Garden Eve was tempted by Satan.
You see friends, that before the new, clean world I gave you is seven years old, a force of evil has

Within the first week there was already sin and evil. Digory accidently rings the bell and awakens the
evil in Jadis. She awakens and is pure evil. This makes him human because likewise, Adam does the
same and really makes satan who he is by taking the bite of the apple. It is only right that they mess up
though. They are human like we are and it is in our nature to sin. C.S. Lewis makes these two people
relatable to us through their nature and how they act. I feel as if I were in the same situation with

How Erosion Affects The Earth Research Paper
How can Erosion Affect the Earth?
To begin this blog post, Erosion is the process of eroding or being eroded by wind, water, or other
natural agents. Erosion can change the landscape by wearing down mountains, making rivers
disappear and appear and filling valleys. Erosion usually a slow process but it speeds up by farming
and mining. Erosion starts with weathering which breaks rock soil into little pieces which then loosen
them up from the earth s surfaces. Water help erosion by carrying sand and clay but if the water is fast
and strong it could carry large rocks and larger objects. Beaches are affected by erosion which are
making shores decreasing and also cause places to not make buildings and other stuff.

Looking For Sassure Meaning
The image provides a series of signs. There is a woman over a pedestal posing with the lingerie and a
man on a suit leaning on the pedestal. The first order of meaning is that the woman is posing for the
man, swanning carefree on her light and soft silk, exulting in her sexuality. Maybe this scene is
representing a strip show, where the woman, as an object, dances for the critical eyes of a fully dressed
man. The woman is wearing light blue silk lingerie. The colour is a paradigm. For Saussure a
paradigm is a type of code that is a set of signs from which the one to be used is chosen (John Fiske,
1982, Introduction to Communication Studies, 3rd edition, page 54). Thus the colour is a code,
specifically an arbitrary code and it connotes trust, loyalty and heaven and this makes us believe that

The design of new stainless steel alloys with novel physical properties is vital to the petroleum
industry in order to develop technologies which will perform more efficiently at high temperatures and

which are desirable at high temperatures and pressures, the high cost of nickel is prohibitive towards
development of new devices which can be used in harsh conditions, so discovering stainless steel

What we know The development of materials used in harsh conditions is a very active field of
research. This is mainly due to the broad range of industrial applications and of large interest in the
development of equipment for oil and gas industry. [1] In that respect, different stainless steels have
been proposed in the last decades and they are nowadays used in industry. Though they are not as
recognized as carbon steels, there is a steady growth that indicates the necessity to understand the
atomistic details of its performance, its potential crystallographic phases and the changes of the elastic
and corrosive properties for different alloying agents. The atomistic and microstructure knowledge is a
decisive factor in the design of a specific alloy. This will provide us with the local understanding of
the alloy and how the properties can be modified by the inclusion of other atoms. We can generally
classify stainless steels based on the different crystalline structures which can be formed at different
temperatures and under different pressures. [1 3] Austenitic stainless steels (γ phase) are face centered
cubic structures (FCC), mostly nickel based, which are quite weldable. They are used in a broad
number of industries from chemical plants, food processing and diary equipment. Though in very
large use, they are prone to weld metal hot cracking. These materials occupy almost 50% of the global
production of stainless steel. Martensitic

Behavior Management Is The Number One Key For Learning...
Behavior Management in the Classroom If you were to ask me what my number one priority is in my
classroom, without a thought my answer would be behavior management. Much like Marzano (2003)
I believe that behavior management is the number one key for learning success. If a classroom is
chaotic and unpredictable many students will show various kinds of undesired behaviors as a way to
cope with the environment. It is also very difficult for students to focus and retain information when
there are constant disruptions in the classroom. It will negatively affect the performance of the teacher,
and the students. When students are taught structure and routine, and given unwavering expectations
and consequences, and are then taught how to apply ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is also important to build strong relationships with students in order to create a trusting and positive
environment. Much like Walker (2009) I believe that strong management stems from high expectation
levels, as well as a caring and nurturing environment where students are being encouraged and the
process, rather than the outcome of learning is emphasized. Walker (2009) defines this style of
teaching as authoritative. A high level of support and nurturing, along with high expectations, where
the adult is able to reason with the child to gain compliance. As a special education teacher, many of
my students have low self monitor abilities and struggle to reason, and need frequent reminders and
enforcers. I feel that it is most effective to use a more authoritarian approach in the beginning to build
very clear expectations without room for error. Walker (2009) defines authoritarian style of teaching a
highly controlling style of teaching that values strict obedience. Although an authoritarian approach is
less nurturing and highly controlling, I feel that it is effective to start with this level of control, and
then progress into a more authoritative level where the more nurturing warm supportive elements
come in as students learn to adhere to expectations with a high level of support. When moving into a

The Characteristics And Differences Of Sparta And Athens
In the world of the ancient Greeks, there were hundreds of states that composed the Peloponnesian
group that formed Greece. Among these states, there were two that stood more prominent and
dominant than all of the others: Sparta and Athens. These two titans of the Archaic periods left lasting
marks on history that still reverberate even to this day. In many ways, they were very similar to each
other, and in others, they could not be more contrasting.
Sparta was somewhat unique, in that they were ruled by two kings, and had political groups that voted
on policies. They had three major assemblies, an elder council known as the Gerousia, a group of five

The Ethics Of Computer Forensics
In a world where technology is increasingly becoming the way of life, it was only a matter of time
before crime was no longer just in the streets but happening online as well. Criminals now get a new
approach to carry out their crimes with the use of computers. Since technology is more like a murder
mystery than catching the bad guy in the act, a new discipline of forensics needed to be put into place.
This is known as computer forensics. Forensic science is any science used for the purpose of law. In
the case of computer forensics it is the discipline that combines elements of law and computer science
to collect and analyze data from computer systems, networks, wireless communications, and storage
devices in a way that is admissible as evidence in a court of law (U.S. Cert, 2008). Meaning if you do
something illegal on the Internet it can be found. Since the widespread use of computers, computer
crime has caused an increase in computer investigations during the twenty first century. Some reasons
for investigation include: identity theft, such as stolen social security and credit card numbers, to find
evidence of a cheating spouse, to investigate hackers on a computer system, to find evidence of child
pornography, and much more.
History of Computer Forensics
The 1970s were when military investigators first started finding instances of computer related criminal
activity and needed a more comprehensive approach for solving these technical crimes. These first

While it may seem like an antiquated topic, the issue is still being debated and even encouraged to this

Sedimentary rocks interpret dinosaur habitats through encased environmental structures of the past.
Through sedimentary rocks, paleoecologists can examine the arranged formation of sedimentary
structures to specify what type of environment the dinosaurs lived in. An example of a specific
sedimentary rock structure can be seen through formed weathering and ripple marks by how wind and
sand formed distinct patterns in the past layered sediment. These arrangements provide interpretations

use fossilized tracks to determine what specific habitat a species of dinosaur lived in. The use of
uniformitarianism can be used to conclude what specific environment a dinosaur lived in through
sedimentary structures. Ichnology uses tracks to determine what habitat a dinosaur inhabited by the
pattern that a dinosaur walked in. With nests, Ichnologists can use information to determine what
habitat a species of dinosaur lived in to ensure a safe environment for the eggs. Ichnologists can
determine if a species of dinosaur stayed in a specific environment by studying the walking patterns of
track ways and the indications of dinosaur nests. Ichnologists use track ways and nests to determine
preferred habitats due to a plethora of trace fossils that a species of dinosaur can make in its

The Effects Of Child Abuse On The United States
It s difficult to comprehend that an adult, often a parent or caregiver, would intentionally hurt an infant
or child. Yet nearly a million children are abused in the United States. Unfortunately that excludes
children who s incidents of child abuse are unreported and undetected. Child abuse can be defined
differently from state to state, but commonly presents in the form of physical, emotional, and sexual
abuse, neglect and abandonment. The focus of this review is physical abuse, which is defined as non
accidental physical injury, from bruising to fractures to the most serious cases of abuse ending in death
(Sink, Hyman, Matheny, Georgopoulos Kleinman, 2010). Non accidental trauma (NAT) is a leading
cause of childhood traumatic injury and death in the United States. It is estimated that 1,400 children
died from maltreatment in the United States in 2002, and abusive head trauma (AHT) accounted for
80% of these deaths (Paul Adamo, 2014). AHT, also known as shaken baby syndrome or inflicted
traumatic brain injury can be caused by direct blows to the head, dropping or throwing a child, or
shaking a child. Though the incident may only last for a few seconds, the effects can last a lifetime.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of the United States, abusive head
trauma (AHT) is most common in children under age 5, with children under one year of age at most
risk. Nearly all victims of AHT suffer serious, long term health consequences such as vision

Analyze the security mechanisms needed to protect the DMS systems from both state employees and
users accessing over the internet:
Department of Management Services (DMS) has chosen to expand their applications and services via
TCP/IP and Internet access. DMS uses a widely used proprietary scheme: IBM s Systems Network
Architecture (SNA) which provides support for TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet
Protocol). SNA architecture is projected to remain important for some years to come. Implementing
standardized protocol architectures allow DMS ongoing communication with suppliers, ... Show more

Thus, all distributed applications, including remote logon, client/server, email, file transfer, Web
access, and so on, can be secured (Stallings, 2009). Finally, Stallings (2009) has noted, another
relatively general purpose solution is to implement security just above TCP by using Secure Sockets
Layer (SSL) and the follow on Internet standard Transport Layer Security (TLS). For full generality,
SSL, (TLS) could be provided as part of the underlying protocol suite and therefore be transparent to
applications. Alternatively, SSL can be embedded in specific packages.
Critique the transition process performed by the DMS in the case study. Then, recommend two (2)
alternatives to the IP Infrastructure or applications not already mentioned in the case study: By the
early 1990s, the Florida department of management services (DMS) had built up a large information
systems network that serve state government agencies in 10 regional sites and connected these to the
data center in Tallahassee. The network was based on the use of the proprietary systems network
architecture (SNA) from IBM and mainframe at the data center that housed most of the applications.
Although relatively happy with the SNA application and services by providing TCP/IP capability and
internet access. The goal was met in a remarkably short time. Over the course of 30 months, DMS
built a statewide TCP/IP network, began

Prometheus s Rule In The Book Anthem
The laws say that men may not write unless the Council of Vocation bids them so. (1). In the book
Anthem by Ayn Rand Prometheus begins his story by explaining the sin he s committing by writing
down the experiences he s had in the time he found the tunnel, another crime. Prometheus states, since
the Council does not know of this hole, there is no law permitting to enter. And everything which is
not permitted by law is forbidden. (31). The Council has ultimately made their people think of each
other as a collectivism rather than thinking of themselves as individuals, this is another rule and the
deadliest rule since if this rule is broken the penalty is death. As Prometheus explain, and this is the
Unspeakable word, which no men may speak nor hear... There is no crime punished by death in this
world, save this one crime of speaking the unspeakable word. (49). By limiting the people s
individuality, even as far as denying the existence of words such as I , they have unknowingly
backtracked in time, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From breaking his first rule, finding the tunnel, to the more memorable broken rule that brought him
to torture and the fear from the council of Scholars, making, protecting, and showing the glass box
which he made by himself. In the process re inventing the light bulb Prometheus breaks four of the
five main rules talked about in Anthem. The first rule that he breaks is the law of permission which he
broke when he discovered the hole and did not inform the council of said hole. Then he breaks the law
that prohibits men to be alone in Prometheus case he was alone in the tunnel. His later transgressions
consist of stealing: papers, candles, and some books, and him writing the book of his experiences. The
final, and death worthy law when broken, rule ego is broken when he begins protecting his invention
and his ego continues until the point where he runs away into the forbidden

  • 2. The Art of Brand Naming Essay Do you ever like a brand, and everything that they have to offer, bit then you think to yourself what a stupid name though! ? While a crappy name won t nesesarily doom a company for success, it can be a hurdle to overcome if botched. The art and science of great naming is absolutely about balancing a confluence of core concepts: Companies should focus on domain name availability, descriptiveness, trademark strength, originality, length, integrity (the bigger picture of the name and brand), and lastly, the name s tested market appeal. We don t ever want to find ourselves naming exclusively reaching for one particular aspect of a name, as there is a bigger picture to be considered. Being integral: There is a major plus when a name can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are exceptions, like Trader Joe s named for founder Joe Coulombe, and of course the eponymous Ben and Jerry s Ice cream. Don t confuse their existing goodwill with the difficulty inherent to how hard it may have been overcoming a plain name although one could say their names made them approachable given the lack of seriousness to say, ice cream. All my family members get together every 4th of July at my grandmother s house and have a huge barbeque, watch the parade and catch up on what happened since the last 4th. My oldest brother Jake lives in Massachusetts and attends the University of Massachusetts Lowell (UML). He was staying with us so he could drive us around and just hang out as a family again. At around 8:00pm Jake s blue Samsung touch screen phone vibrated on the coffee table as we were watching Wheel of Fortune. His college friend Andrew sent him a text message reading whacha doin, wanna hang out? . My brother then replied nothin much, chilin with my fam, sure . My brother asked if Alex and me wanted to go with him, but as always we had to get permission from my dad, A.K.A. the safety king, and surprisingly enough he answered sure you can go, just be safe and be back by 10:00 . It is with relevance to presidential elections that we have seen a political surge on American independent voters and thus having political candidates attempt to sway their view, we have seen fundamental compelling percentages on these election outcomes. This case study crafts the breakdown of potential variables that have prompted to the sharp ascent in American independent voters in previous political history, and the voting behavior to authentic elements adding to Independent voters decisions. Specifically, to what extent do factors shape the voting behavior on the increasing rise of the American Independent voter choice and voter turnout in the 2016 United States Presidential Election? By extension, how do independents differ in part from the two major partisan ties of the Democratic and Republican parties? As per the United States voting framework, an independent voter is a non fanatic electorate who is not subsidiary with a specific political gathering. Darwin´s Theory of Natural Selection and Primates Darwin s ideas about organic evolution were drawn from the existing forces of knowledge on evolution developed by Lyell, Malthus, and Lamarck. Although Darwin was not the first thinker about the concept of evolution, he was a revolutionary in developing a theory of evolution that was consistent. The distinctive element of the evolutionary theory conceived by Darwin is the way he viewed species. Darwin considered variation among individuals of a species to be natural. He further argued that variation, far from being problematic, actually provides the explanation for the existence of distinct species. Darwin adopted elements from Malthus s theory on population growth and stated that only those members of a population that are capable ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Human evolution is characterized by a number of morphological, developmental, physiological, and behavioral changes but most interestingly the basis for such changes is in understanding the origins of humans. The Primate order indeed serves as the starting point for human evolution. The Primates are an ancient and diverse Eutherian group. Although Primates are considered as tropical animals that live in forest setting, yet they inhabit many kinds of landscapes and live in widely diverse climates. Primates are divided into two groups, the Strepsirhini and the Haplorhini. Strepsirhines have long muzzle, wet noses, lower incisors forming a toothcomb, nocturnal, and have an immobile upper lip. Infrastructure based networks are traditional cellular systems which require base station infrastructure. Wireless LANs are very flexible within the reception area. It requires low bandwidth when compared to wired networks. Ad Hoc networks are useful when the infrastructure is not available, impractical or expensive to build. In Cellular Wireless, spaces are divided into cells. Each cell consists of base stations which is responsible to communicate with the hosts in its cell. Hosts moves from one cell to cell to another and hand off occurs, the new base station takes care of the communication. In Multi hop wireless, mobility causes a change of route. Hence it need to traverse multiple links to reach destination. Ad hoc network is a self organizing multi hop wireless network, which relies neither on infrastructure nor on the predetermined connectivity. Rapid deployment of mobile users will be the need for the next generation wireless communication systems. A mobile ad hoc network is a collection of mobile users that communicate over constrained wireless links with lower bandwidth. The Ethical Dilemmas of Genetic Testing for Huntington s Disease INTRODUCTION Huntington s Disease (HD) is an autosomal dominant, progressive, neurodegenerative disorder (Walker, 2007 and Harmon, 2007). The gene that causes the disease is located on the fourth chromosome and causes an abnormal number of repeats in the patient s genetic code (Harmon, 2007). Huntington s Disease can have devastating effects on patients quality of life. The first symptoms of HD generally start between the ages of 30 and 45 and patients are typically asymptomatic prior to this time (Terrenoire, 1992 and Walker, 2007). Insurance companies may also begin to mandate that genetically related individuals undergo predictive genetic testing for HD if one family member develops the disease (Ethical issues of genetic diagnosis, 2007). Another ethical debate reigns in the choice for HD patients to have children and in prenatal screening for HD. Since HD is generally not diagnosed until later in life, many patients have children before their HD diagnosis (Ethical issues of genetic diagnosis, 2007). The children of one parent with HD have a 50% chance of developing the disease themselves. However, if a patient tests positive for the gene that causes Huntington s disease before having children, conflicts could arise between partners about whether or not to even have children (Ethical issues of genetic diagnosis, 2007 and Tassicker, Savulescu, Skene, Marshall, Fitzgerald Delatycki, 2003). Many genius authors have admired women s physical beauty according to their imaginations. However, their literary works, the male dominated society and the female community have also served as accomplices in creating notion about the beauty of women. In our society, it is believed that a woman should have fair skin, hourglass figure and long hair to attain the title of a beautiful woman . This notion has degraded the stature of the entire female community instead of elevating it. The revolutionary poet, Maya Angelou, tried to break this notion by writing a poem to give tribute to an average looking woman who can become trendsetter and leader in her field of interest despite of not having fair skin and the hourglass figure. In the poem Phenomenal Woman , the author urges women to be proud of them and their gender and to celebrate the womanhood instead of being ashamed of it. Maya Angelou has been regarded as an acclaimed poet whose literary works focus on her real life experiences (1). Phenomenal Woman falls into the category of poems based on the real life experiences and the human truth. • 24. 3d Printing Or Additive Manufacturing 3D printing or additive manufacturing is a process of making three dimensional solid objects from a digital file. The creation of a 3D printed object is achieved using additive processes. In an additive process an object is created by laying down successive layers of material until the entire object is created. Each of these layers can be seen as a thinly sliced horizontal cross section of the eventual object. It all starts with making a virtual design of the object you want to create. This virtual design is made in a CAD (Computer Aided Design) file using a 3D modeling program (for the creation of a totally new object) or with the use of a 3D scanner (to copy an existing object). A 3D scanner makes a 3D digital copy of an object. 3D scanners use different technologies to generate a 3d model from something that already exists. Recently, many IT companies like Microsoft and Google enabled their hardware to perform 3D scanning, a great example is Microsoft s Kinect. This is a clear sign that future hand held devices like smartphones will have 3D scanners. To digitize real objects into 3d models will become as easy as taking a picture. Prices of 3D scanners range from very expensive professional industrial devices to devices anyone can make at home. To prepare a digital file for printing, the 3D modeling software slices the final model into hundreds or thousands of horizontal layers. When the sliced file is uploaded in a 3D printer, the object ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These words by Marcus Garvey perfectly illustrate the spirit of unification that characterized the attitude of many people of African Descent as a direct result of the callous treatment that Africa as a whole suffered at the hands of Europeans. Europe not only ravished Africa of a significant resource in the millions of lives that it stole and enslaved. Europe also pillaged the continent with the brutal institution of colonization. Garvey thought it was very important that the continent be freed from tyrannous European imperialist grasp (Lynch 31). The ideas that Garvey postulated about Africa were founded in the consequences of Europe s misuse of the land. Another way that European colonization caused harm to Africans is through labor exploitation. Death, taxation, and torture were tools used to enforce labor policies. After Europeans confiscated African land, they proceeded to charge Africans taxes to inhabit the land. They charged the taxes in a manner that required Africans to work for Europeans in order to pay. Though they are not as recognized as carbon steels, there is a steady growth that indicates the necessity to understand the atomistic details of its performance, its potential crystallographic phases and the changes of the elastic and corrosive properties for different alloying agents. The atomistic and microstructure knowledge is a decisive factor in the design of a specific alloy.
