The study investigates FM signal propagation and path loss at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria, specifically focusing on the 93.1 MHz frequency. By employing the Longley-Rice irregular terrain model, the research correlates predicted transmission losses with actual field measurements, leading to the development of a contour map illustrating signal strength in the surrounding areas. The findings suggest that the model can effectively aid in spectrum management and improving FM signal reception in regions with low signal quality.
