This document evaluates the performance of hard and soft WiMAX networks using the PKM and PGP security protocols combined with RSA encryption. It first describes the PKM and PGP protocols for key management and encryption in WiMAX networks. It then discusses how RSA encryption works. The performance of hard and soft WiMAX is analyzed through simulation using the NS2 simulator. Metrics like throughput, delay, and packet delivery ratio are used to compare the performance of both networks. Simulation results show that soft WiMAX has lower delay compared to hard WiMAX when using the combined PKM, PGP, and RSA security mechanisms.
