INTRODUCTION
• Traffic lights have become an integral part of human's day-to-day life.
• With this motivation in the mind, this project aims at designing and
implementing, a running model of traffic light controller which is
controlled according to the density of vehicle on road.
From
Google.com
OBJECTIVE
To design an automated traffic-light control system that switches lights
depending on the density of traffic in a particular road
• Deliverable
An automated traffic light control system based on traffic density
• End Users
Road users
PURPOSE
• Control up to 4-phases traffic system with the traffic flow
optimization strategies
• Optimize the traffic flow at network junctions
• Measurably improve traffic flow
• Reduce environmental pollution caused by traffic.
• Most importantly increases road safety

Components Required Density Based
Traffic Light Controller Using Arduino
The components you are going to require for this project are as
follows
• Arduino ATmega328
• 4 X HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensors
• 4 X Red LEDs
• 4 X Green LEDs
• 4 X Yellow LED
• Jumper cables
• Breadboards
AURDINO Programming to be
Implemented
This has to be taken from the library programming
in the AURDINO software
PROPOSED SYSTEM:-

WORKING
• Proposed system will functioning based on traditional system
along with automated signalling.
• System will have artificial vision with the help of digital camera
mounted on motor for its rotation to face lanes and sense the
traffic on the road.
• This single image of lane will be processed using image processing
techniques to estimate traffic load.
• Estimated traffic load will be used to calculate the required time
duration for controlling of signal lights based on in comparison
with experimental results.
PROCESSING OF THERMAL IMAGE:-
PROJECT DEMONSTRATION
The
implementation
model taken
from google.com
STATISTICAL ANALYSIS
There are some observation of traffic in our city
Prayagraj such as,
•Johnsonganj chauraha the most busy route.
•Bank road
•Medical chauraha
•Telierganj chauraha
These all data is taken from google.com
Example Of Switching Decision
Default switching after every 60s
t=0
At this instant, traffic density on Road D
crosses threshold.
ADVANTAGES
• Automatic traffic signals control
• High efficient light can be achieved
• Android based traffic signal control in case of emergencies like ambulance etc.
• Usage of wireless technology
• Long life.
• Highly sensitive.
• Easy to operate.
• Low power consumption.
• It is environment friendly.
FUTURE SCOPE
• Real time traffic information update on
traffic department website
• Automatic tracking of traffic laws
defaulters
• Implementation of above system at night
using thermal cameras
• Detection of other emergency vehicles
CONCLUSION:-
The project may be very well used in where the traffic
signals is kept and in many other places where we need
to full fill the need of the automation. In the future we
implement the project’s idea in the industries . By using
this in future we can know traffic density in the city and
so that remedies can be made according to that.
