The Innovation Showcase follows, a unique opportunity to casually engage with over two dozen makers who have their cutting-edge products and devices on display. Creating an almost magical atmosphere where hardware innovation and creative genius generates spirited ideation, the Innovation Showcase is not to be missed.
Wednesday was an all-star lineup with over 30 speakers representing leading entrepreneurs and thought leaders at the forefront of the maker movement. Investors, industrial designers, product development teams - anyone looking for insight into the early stage companies with the potential to change the global business landscape - should attend.
Sage 50 cloud extension - Webinar September 17th 2014Suntico
Suntico is a Sage 50 cloud extension that enables you to decuple (multiply by ten) the value of your Sage 50 data.
By sharing yet controlling; finding and enriching your important business data, the finance department can take the lead and establish a company wide information system.
The excitement so far with ARKit has centered on making AR objects react to the real world. How about making AR objects part of that world? In this talk, Alex will explore the use of Core Location to create an AR experience anchored on real-world locations to enhance everything from retail and museum fixed navigation through dynamic crowd control applications.
Some thoughts on Drone Imagery Economics and general Drone Economics. What the cheap drones, appropriate algorithms, cheap Cloud Computing and lots of OpenSource resources such as drone OSes and open drone hardware designes mean to the mapping industry at large.
(SPOT309) Inspiring Innovation in the Cloud @ NASA/JPL and BeyondAmazon Web Services
An 80-year old startup, NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory continues to be a driving source of innovation in American technology. The past decade of this trek included NASA's expedition into cloud computing, seeing the delivery of cloud building blocks, initial applications, and a boom of higher order opportunities. These successes have begun to feed forward into enterprises and growing startups, while NASA continues to blaze a trail ahead. This talk by three of NASA's cloud explorers discusses what made this journey possible, how it was executed, and what lies ahead. In this session, Tom Soderstrom, chief technology and innovation officer for IT at NASA JPL, talks about how NASA thinks about innovation, the role of cloud computing in the innovation cycle, and how NASA took cloud computing from prototyping to playing a mission-critical role across the organization. You also hear from two influential JPL alumni who spread—and amplified—the approach. Come and hear the impact that cloud computing is having on science, discovery, and innovation, how missions at NASA are using cloud computing today, and where it is going in the future.
This is one part of a 4 part presentation sharing what NASA, the commercial aerospace industry, and the technology industry are partnering on to ensure we continue to pursue space exploration.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Display as a window into a virtual world
Improve image generation until the picture looks real
Computer maintains world model in real time

Manipulated objects move realistically
Immersion in virtual world via head-mounted display
Virtual world also sounds real, feels real
9. AR is the closest to the real environment because it consists
mostly of real world images, with a minority of the images
being computer-generated. Augmented virtuality is a term for
applications that create a mostly virtual world, but which
includes a few images from the real world. (Milgram, 1994)
