It found that most of the audience was 16-30 years old, evenly split between male and female. They preferred indie and rock music and disliked pop and dance. Most wanted to see their favorite artists in videos and preferred abstract concepts, shots of the artist, and disordered storylines for alternative rock videos. Nature and industrial locations were most popular suggested settings. Most respondents said they enjoyed videos that challenge stereotypes.
