2. What do you like about them?
Response 1:Look professional and clearly show the genre
Response 2:I like the way the film magazine cover is simple and plain as it
makes me focus on the main stars. The fact it is clear also allows me to identify
which genre it is clearly. The font and central image used within your film poster
also emphasises and highlights the romantic genre due to them being typical
conventions.
Response 3:They show the genre of the film well and look really professional
Response 4:I like the fact that the genre is clear in both of them.
I think that overall the feedback on my ancillary tasks is
very positive, everyone agreed that the genre is clearly
shown and generic conventions are followed. However the
improvements which I received all tended to agree that
the house style/brand identity could be stronger as I
instead followed the conventions of the magazine rather
than completely my film style. Also the feedback on the
picture quality I agree with as I used different cameras but
didn’t get an opportunity to retake the poster image.
How do you think I could improve them?
Response 1: Possibly create a stronger house style and brand
identity between them .
Response 2: The only negative comment would be the picture
quality on the poster as it's a contrast to the magazine cover.
Response 3: You could make the house style/brand identity
stronger between them both.
3. Do you think it looks professional? If yes what make its look
professional? If no how could I have made it look professional?
Response 1: Yes, looks of smooth fades and the music transfers nicely
Response 2: The sound chosen throughout is a typical song used within
romance teasers therefore this makes it seem realistic and also conveys to
typical conventions. I also like the 'DT films' as it makes the overall look
seem more professional along with the date displayed at the end. The only
thing that I feel could be improved would be using a tri-pod when filming
just to give the shots a more clean look, other than that great trailer!
Response 3: Yes, the music suited the trailer well and matched what the
actors were doing
Response 4: Yes because of the clear voice over and range of shots. Also at
the beginning when it shows 'the following preview..' and the 'DTFilms'
makes it look more professional.
Do you think my actors portray a realistic romance? (provide explanation)
Response 1: Yes, they appear realistic and natural.
Response 2:Yes due to the body language used between them, also because they do stereotypical things a couple would such as going
out and laying in bed together etc.
Response 3: Yes, you could clearly see the romance between them.
Response 4: Yes because the bed scene shows intimacy and you get a insight to things like them eating dinner together.
4. What do you like about my Teaser Trailer and why?
Response 1:It shows a clear loving romance which has the typical
generic sadness at one point.
Response 2:I like the way the sound compliments the actors
gestures along with it creating a certain atmosphere when
watching. I also like the way you have used the voice over to
represent the storyline clearly.
Response 3: The music was very good and the trailer showed
possible sad areas to the film which would draw the viewer in.
Response 4: I like how it's clear what is going on, the voice over is
clear and the music fits really well with the story line/genre.
Is the storyline clear?
Response 1:Yes, but a stronger sadness could be shown.
Response 2:^^ yes I believe it is very clear and
understandable.
Response 3:Some bits were clear, but it didn't give too much
away .
Response 4: Yeah.
In what ways do you think it reflected generic conventions of the
romance genre?
Response 1: The softness of the edits and the music are typical of
the genre as they gently flow throughout. And the use of numerous
shots of the couple close to each other is very typical.
Response 2:The sound used was typical, the body langauge and
gestures between the actors was typical, the font used to display
the names and film title were typical and also displaying the film
date to be released on Valentine's Day.
Response 3: The music reflected a romantic genre and the trailer
showed a couple in love
Response 4: I like the soft music as it supports the romance
between the couple.
What improvements would you suggest?
Response 1: Clear text on the pieces of on screen text to make it
look bolder.
Response 2: As said before, only the use of a tri-pod. :)
Response 3: Maybe make the storyline a little bit clearer.
Response 4: I would suggest to make the pink writing on the ruffled
background more bold to make it stand out better as it's quite hard
to read.
5. I am very pleased with the feedback I have received from my target audience over
all it is very positive and they have noticed things such as the fades and music
which I worked on to make look professional. However something I should have
asked if whether can see a house style as there was few comments on the
magazine cover looking slightly out of place which I agree on but I tried to follow
the generic conventions of the film magazine I took inspiration from.
The improvements which my target audience suggested I totally agree with,
something’s such as filming with a tri-pod I wish I had done as this would have
made it look much more professional and if I was to do it again I would. Also that
the storyline could be clearer with a slightly larger focus on the sad part would
have made a much more dramatic trailer. Something small which I hadn’t really
noticed was the quality of the writing on the on screen text this is something I
really wish I had noticed and would make it much more professional looking.
Overall the feedback is very positive and my work clearly appeals to my target
audience which is what I intended to do along with creating something
professional and with generic conventions.
