2. AUDIENCE RESEARCH
-
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?
I've made a survey and sent it to females and
teenagers as these are my target audience and put
questions to see what kind of genres and props they
would like to see in a chick flick movie and i got my
results.
I as well asked my sisters and girl friends and gave me
extra results that will definitely help me in my opening
sequence.
3. AUDIENCE
IDENTIFICATION
-
WHO IS YOUR AUDIENCE?
My audience are females and teenagers who enjoy girly
movies and gossip. Usually more like girls that relate to
fashion, money, makeup , relationships , shopping and all
that. More like spoiled girls.
4. AUDIENCE EXPECTATIONS
WHAT WILL THEY EXPECT FROM THIS GENRE?
THEME? WHAT MIGHT THEY COMPARE IT TO?
HOW WILL YOU SATISFY THEIR EXPECTATIONS?
For this Genre, my audience will expect colors
throughout the opening sequence, such as Red. As
well as props such as makeup, shoes, clothes, bags,
jewellery. Slag language is expected as it links to
comedy and drama.
I will satisfy their expectations by using the results I
got in the survey I've made.
5. AUDIENCE ENGAGMENT
HOW WILL YOU ENGAGE YOUR AUDIENCE?
CONSIDER NARRATIVE, PROTAGONIST, TECHNICAL
STYLE. HOW WILL YOU ENSURE THEY WANT TO
KEEP WATCHING THE REST OF THE FILM?
I will engage my audience by using music that will relate
to my genre and my opening sequence such as fast-
paced music. The style of my protagonist is going to be
quite a mystery, as well as her room and closet are
going to be very luxurious, I will use close up shots
which will make the audience want to keep watching it.
My protagonist will not be shown fully, only a few of her
features such as eyes and lips and this will create
enigma and engage my audience.
