2. Age range & the BBFC
Our age range is between 16-24 years old. This is the
biggest audience demographics.
Our age rate is more likely to be at 15, as that is the closest
age to our target audience. If we rated it at 18 then it would
exclude 16 and 17 year olds which we don’t want. We would
confirm this with the BBFC, because it feature inappropriate
languages and violence.
The Criminal character would appeal to its social groups,
(young males) living in the urban area, watch films such as
“kidult hood” listen to urban/ hip pop music. Also, the female
main character would appeal to that social groups. So this
film would appeal to both demographics, and both genders.
3. How did you address your
audience?
• We would have needed to create a great story line to
keep the audience interested. By mentioning
murderer/ rapist, that would immediately grab there
attention.
• Depending on who's starring in the film, people would
want to see it. For instance, because my group and I
are starring in it, our friends and family would be
eager to see it. So they would pass it on to others
• In terms of soundtracks, my group and I done a
survey asking our target audience what type of
soundtrack they would prefer. The feedback we got
was very helpful, helped us develop their ideas, so it
satisfies our audience.
• The title of our film “The witness” sounded edgy and
interesting, it make them want to find out and
“witness” it themselves
• Social networking would play a big part in addressing
our target audience. Facebook and Twitter have a
large number of people accessing their social
networking sites.
• Posters would persuade the target audience to watch
it.
