S- The students will be able to list, perform, and describe the major traditions and history of the 4th of 
July within 2 weeks with at least 75% accuracy. 
S- Social/news/radio media on current 4th of July celebrations; articles and other handouts on 4th of 
July’s traditions and history; Have Students help each other or ask me for help if they cannot see or read 
something; have most of class as an open discussion environment, so that we are talking instead of 
trying to read; Make plan to have a skit and activity (4th of July party) and end of lesson. 
U- Make students watch current news shows and listen to radio for 4th of July events; Go over and have 
students learn about 4th of July History. 
R- Make students perform a skit of reenactment of the Declaration of Independence using what they 
have learned about history of 4th of July; have students put on a 4th of July party using all traditional 
activities that they have researched. 
E- Constantly evaluate the progress of the students while modifying lesson to ensure that students learn 
the traditions and history of 4th of July; evaluate skits and activities to see if students need more time on 
learning the traditions and history of 4th of July
