The Assure Method
This document outlines a lesson plan using the ASSURE method to teach 4th grade students about different ethnic and religious Christmas traditions. Assure method wednesday
The teacher will lead a 5-day lesson on Native American history for their 3rd grade class of 21 students from diverse racial backgrounds. Students will work in groups to research and present projects on different aspects of Native American culture like food, language, art and way of life. As part of the lesson, students will sample Native American foods and compare them to familiar foods, then blog about their experiences. They will also learn about Native American pottery by making their own clay pots representing the tribes they are assigned. The teacher will provide all necessary materials and ensure student participation through hands-on activities and group presentations.
Assure Revision
The teacher will be teaching 4th grade students about holiday traditions over the course of a week. There are 20 students total, including 11 girls and 9 boys, with some from different religious and ethnic backgrounds. The objectives are for students to learn about the traditions, foods, gifts, and weather associated with Thanksgiving and Christmas. Methods will include a secret Santa craft, YouTube clips with discussion, show-and-tell about Thanksgiving items, and a collaborative poster. The teacher will prepare materials, review clips, and provide examples. Students will participate in crafts, discussions, presentations, and complete a webquest homework. The teacher will evaluate understanding daily and revise lessons as needed to keep all students on track.
Assure method monday
Olivia Fisher will teach a unit on Native American history to her 3rd grade class over 5 days. She will introduce the students to different Native American tribes, cultures, languages and ways of life. The students will be split into groups to research and present projects on assigned tribes. They will use materials provided by the teacher, including information from a Voki presentation and posters, to complete their projects with 95% accuracy.

This is my revised, revised, revised ASSURE method. It was necessary to do again adding the technology tools we learned in this course.
Assure
Emily Muck will teach her 4th grade class about the religious winter holidays of Christmas, Hanukkah, Ramadan, and Kwanza. Students will learn through daily activities like videos, research, and comparing the aspects of each religion. They will be split into groups and each group will present on a different holiday. Emily plans to assess the students' understanding of the holidays with 80% accuracy. Materials like videos, readings, worksheets and podcasts will help students learn. Emily will prepare materials in advance and use assessments daily to track student progress.
Assure method thursday
The teacher will teach Native American history to their 3rd grade class over 5 days. Students will work in groups to create projects about Native American culture, including foods, languages, music, dance, games, and ways of life. To learn about Native American music and dance, students will watch a YouTube video and try dancing to the music. They will also play Native American games to experience different aspects of the cultures. The teacher will assess student learning through their group presentations and participation during class activities and discussions.

- 1. Wade Cole CI 350 1-27-14 ASSURE Objective: My 4th grade students will know the different Holiday traditions by the end of the week of going over the information. At the end of the week, I will require 75% of my students to know the information. To help my students retain the information we will watch movies concerning the Holidays, listen and sing songs of the Holidays, study the history of the Holidays by using a WebQuest I have directed them to use and discover the different Holiday traditions. Games will be included such as trivia questions that way I can see which child is still struggling to retain the information, Students will also be required to decorate their desks with decorations concerning which Holiday they celebrate . A- Throughout the week, my students will watch movies, sing songs, and do research with a WebQuest I have prepared. Students can also decorate the classroom, bring food they eat during their Holiday, and present what they learned with theyWebQuest. S- By the end of the week, I require 75% of my students to have a better understanding of different Holiday traditions. S- Students will be required to participate in singing songs, watching movies, decorating the classroom, preparing food, and doing a WebQuest and present to the class what they discovered.
- 2. U- While singing songs, students can see how other cultures celebrate their Holiday. The WebQuest gives students a better understanding of how different Holidays celebrate, what they eat, when it is, the history of the holiday, and why they celebrate. Movies actually show the students how people celebrate the different Holidays. Eating different foods allows students to discover different foods and bring diversity into the classroom. R- On the fourth day of the week, I will require the students to participate in a trivia game so I can assess what information the students have retained. I will go over answers that most of the students missed and see why they missed it. E- At the end of the week, I will go over the questions I asked them in the trivia game and have them participate in another trivia game for extra credit points. I require 75% of my students to know the information we have been studying throughout the week.
