Assure
A: 4th grade students. There are 20 students in total, 11 girls 9 boys, 2 are Muslim, 3 are
Jewish, and 2 are African Americans.
S: My 4th grade students, 11 girls and 9 boys will describe holiday traditions by the end of the
week at 80% accuracy through video, songs, photographs, and a project where will be divided
up into groups of 4 and present their favorite tradition from a culture they were selected for
S: Method:
● The teacher will ask the students what are some of the traditions they celebrate during
the winter holidays, and which are their favorites.
● The teacher will expose the class to a range of holiday traditions from around the world
and from different cultures
Media:
● The teacher will divide the students into 5 groups of 4, each student group sharing a
different background. These groups will work together to chose their favorite new
tradition and present it to the class, based on the culture chosen by the teacher
● The teacher will use a short powerpoint to explain the final project assessment
(presentation)
● The teacher will use youtube to show videos and songs of various holiday traditions
● The teacher will use pintrest to show photos of various holiday traditions via pinned
boards divided by culture.

R: Students will review each day what was discussed the day before and share their own
traditions and which are their personal favorites. Students will also have time during the week to
