Reflection-on-action is necessary to derive meaning from one’s experiences. This paper revisits research data from an elongated study on the impact of a distance education programme on the professional practice of graduates. The study focused on 300 graduates and 128 principals, selected through multi-stage and purposive sampling. The researcher used a mixed-methods research design with specific focus on Kirkpatrick’s, and Baldwin and Ford’s training evaluation models. The researcher’s curiosity was triggered by the need to understand possible reasons for the participants’ views, as these are contrary to the norm. This account indicates a clear institutional policy on quality assurance, practices guided by the policy, an ongoing monitoring of the distance education students’ profiles, improved programme design, student support structures, programme design and research focused on programmes as possible reasons. The author argues that higher education practitioners, irrespective of delivery mode, could benefit from the valuable lessons learnt from the exercise. Case Studies of Tech Integration in 2 Middle Schools

This paper contributes to the growing body of scholarly inquiry into the BYOD (‘Bring Your Own Device’) versus prescribed (minimum standards) technology for learning by reporting on key findings of an institutional mobile learning prescribed technology trial. The study investigated student experiences with and preferences for mobile learning technology, accessible via BYOD or a prescribed approach. The study participants were loaned a tablet and instructed on how to use it for various learning activities throughout a teaching period. A survey and in-depth interviews were used to evaluate the study’s outcomes. It was found that students used their personal and loaned devices simultaneously and in a complementary manner rather than choosing to use one device for all learning activities. As majority of students in this study already owned a personal mobile device and used it for some learning activities, they did not think they acquired any new skills as a result of this project. However, in regards to the loaned tablets use, students found it had overall improved their digital literacy skills and typing speed and overall facilitated better multi-tasking and productivity. Based on findings, we offer three key considerations on how to fully leverage mobile learning technology in the classroom.

Adoption of technology on E-learning effectiveness

The incorporation of E-learning in both private and public tertiary education can help expedite the learning process. The utilization of fast-paced technology with E-learning also allows for a more flexible and convenient learning process. E-learning platforms can be accessed anywhere as long as there is an internet connection, including at home, the workplace, restaurants or while travelling. This allows for the benefit of distance learning. As such, the current study aims to examine the factor effectiveness of E-learning based on three variables, namely technology, instructors’ characteristics and students’ characteristics and their impact on distance learning. The education system has greatly evolved from the use of apparatus such as chalk and blackboards to the modern use of projectors to conduct lessons. In the current age, E-learning will have an effect on both instructors and teaching technology, aside from the students themselves. As an example, students are expected to know how to utilize these systems in their lessons, instructors must receive training in E-learning systems management and in terms of technology, the E-learning systems must be updated and operated using the most recent upgrades. E-learning is also cost-efficient, less time consuming and reduces the burden on both students and educators.

The purposes of this study were: i) Developing strategic management of education and training online tutorial; ii) Testing the feasibility of strategic management of education and training online tutorial; iii) Finding out the obstacles in strategic management of education and training online tutorial development process; and iv) Finding the solutions in overcoming obstacles in developing strategic management of education and training online tutorial. This developmental research used the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation (ADDIE) model and involved second year students of the faculty of teacher training and education in the Kupang Region, Indonesia. The instruments used in this study were: i) Validation guidelines for online tutorial material and supporting instruments; ii) Students’ self-directed learning questionnaire; and iii) Online tutorial formative test questions. Data analysis used descriptive and inferential statistical test. The results show that the online tutorial: i) Fulfilled the aspect of validity in the excellent category; ii) Fulfilled the effectiveness aspect in the good category; iii) Limitations of the source, difficulties in compacting the content of material and developing discussion questions are the obstacles in developing the online tutorial; and iv) The solutions are (utilize Universitas Terbuka (UT)'s open educational resources (OER), make concept maps, and keep practicing to make question samples and consult the questions made to the experts).

The purpose of the present study is to develop and validate a Scale to measures student E-Learning Resources Access. The author undertook the following steps to build the scale: Developing a preliminary draft, Tryout, reliability and validity, Item analysis and Final draft of the scale. The Scale was administered to 110 Arts and Science College students enrolled in Under Graduate courses from Thiruvallur and Vellore Districts of Tamilnadu. The results of the study revealed that the E-Learning Resources Access Scale (ELRAS) has high level of reliability and validity. A systematic literature study including articles from 2016 to 2022 was done to evaluate the various approaches, technologies, and implementation models involved in measuring student engagement during learning. The review’s objective was to compile and analyze all studies that investigated how instructors can gauge students’ mental states while teaching and assess the most effective teaching methods. Additionally, it aims to extract and assess expanded methodologies from chosen research publications to offer suggestions and answers to researchers and practitioners. Planning, carrying out the analysis, and publishing the results have all received significant attention in the research approach. The study’s findings indicate that more needs to be done to evaluate student participation objectively and follow their development for improved academic performance. Physiological approaches should be given more support among the alternatives. While deep learning implementation models and contactless technology should interest more researchers. And, the recommender system should be integrated into e-learning system. Other approaches, technologies, and methodology articles, on the other hand, lacked authenticity in conveying student feeling.

This paper reveals the result of 322 distance learners’ perception towards e-learning program conducted by UiTM. Generally the respondents rated above average for all aspects of distance learning program irrespective of gender, program of studies, income and occupation. Students’ gender also did not show any difference in their perception. Similarly, semester of studies too, did not indicate any significant difference except their perception towards lecturer. However students’ semester of studies showed significant difference towards lecturer, module and physical. Gender, income and semester of studies did not show any relationship to students’ perception towards all aspects of distance learning program. However students’ program of studies showed significant relationship towards their perceptions of the program. Students’ CGPA showed negative relationship with all aspects of distance learning program.

Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration. The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority. Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages. Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.
