This document advertises an arts and culture program for pre-teen girls that aims to teach them about female sexuality and empowerment. The workshop will discuss topics like myths surrounding women's sexuality, the importance of understanding one's body, and providing girls with control over their own choices and lives. It notes rising rates of teenage pregnancy and STDs, and seeks to end the cycle of young girls not understanding changes to their bodies. The purpose is to give girls awareness, truth, and change mindsets so they do not repeat the burdens of past generations due to lack of knowledge.

Workshop teaching the truth & myths to understanding the
trials and joys of being a Woman.

2. Why cant we let girls be girls?
 Female Sexuality in our society is certainly one of
heterosexuality. Young girls now are subjected to extremely
high expectations to have sex with boys, and teenage
pregnancy and the rate of STD’s in teens is rising: the group
most at-risk for new HIV infections is 18-24 year old women.

3. You are in CONTROL
 Myths to Breakdown to end the cycle:
The common view is that women's sexual appetite is smaller than that of men.
The picture of the cold and frigid, virginal and pure woman becomes the norm.
Everything about the culture is repressive, and women's bodies and sexuality
are not their own choices.
This is NOTHING NEW and because the teachings get
REPEATED , young girls DO NOT UNDERSTAND

4. Where should you START?
Take the time to Research !
Sexual relationships between women were condemned historically, although
simultaneously encouraged by seclusion practices.
Since men dominated women, sex between women did not present such a
threat as did sex with other men (which threatened paternity).
Because sex was associated with reproduction, phallic penetration defined sex.
Therefore, sex between women was not ‘real’ sex and was tacitly tolerated by
patriarchal systems, so long as patriarchal marriage commitments to
reproduce were upheld.
As a result,
a silence about sexual relationships between women developed.

6. What are we teaching?
Awareness & Truth:
Women are raised with burdens they are unaware of until
they hit their mid 30’s, living hard lives because of
decisions they have made.
But not knowing they are Repeat Offenders of the
women before them.
This cycle of
not understanding the value, strength and acceptance
of who we are and what we are will be the demise of our
community.

Middle School Youth As Young As 12
Engaging In Risky Sexual Activity
 Science Daily (Apr. 10, 2009) — Middle school youth is engaging
in sexual intercourse as early as age 12, according to a study by
researchers at The University of Texas School of Public Health
 One in twelve children is no longer a virgin by his or her
thirteenth birthday, and 21 percent of ninth-graders have slept
with four or more partners. An alarming report every parent must
read. –The Ladies Home Journal 2012
 But even those kids who remain virgins aren't necessarily
innocent. In a recent survey by Seventeen magazine, 55
percent of teens, aged thirteen to nineteen, admitted to
engaging in oral sex.

Long considered a taboo subject, women's sexuality is now openly discussed and
portrayed on television, in magazines, and on the internet. Most importantly, women
themselves are becoming increasingly aware of their sexuality and their sexual
health.
Women of all ages are learning more about their sexuality.
 What is "sexuality"?
For a woman, as for a man, sexuality encompasses a very broad range of physical
activities and psychological experiences. These
activities fulfill an important physical and emotional need for closeness and
intimacy.
Sexuality doesn't include just your sexual practices.

12. Vision Boards
have been around forever, and they are also a
great tool, however, there is a real process to
cutting out the images etc.; and then getting a
teenager to visualize and concentrate on the
board everyday, it takes a very motivated
teenager to do and want to do this on a regular
basis.

 There are so many in the teen population that have
challenging issues, who could have been Abused or Teased and put
down, mentally, emotionally, physically hurt; they deserve the chance to believe
in themselves and to develop a sense of
SELF CONFIDENCE; self respect and self worth.
 It is our responsibility as parents/teachers/religious sectors/roll models to assist
the teens to be all they can be and to use all the powerful tools that are out there
to assist them to change the way they think, feel and behave.
 It is a challenge growing up and with all the peer pressure, possible self-doubt,
feelings of low self worth and humiliation that can dominate our teens' thoughts
it is our job to give them all the tools we can to
assist an easier transition into adulthood.
