subtitles.
● Bilingual transcript provided.
● Oral Discussion and
Brainstorming with
clusters.
● Semantic maps were
on worksheets and on
whiteboard
● Vocabulary was
displayed in English
and Spanish.
Prewriting
● Round robin reading
in groups of 4.
● Groups arranged by
language preference.
● All students have
both versions.
Reading
● Students fill out T-chart as they read and
annotate.
● Napoleon as Enlightenment leader vs.
Napoleon as Monarch.
● Students share out their findings to
class.
● Homework has sentence starter to make
inference from reading.
More Prewriting
● Exit Ticket: Free write
● Give opinion based on
what they have
learned about
Napoleon so far.
Freewrite
