Name of Student: Agnieszka Kwiatkowska
University: University of Edinburgh,
Degree: PhD in Psycholinguistics
Reference:
I met Agnieszka in the academic session 2008/09 when she enrolled in the Spanish Beginners course
at Stevenson College Edinburgh, of which I am the programme leader. This course comprises a number
of SQA units at Intermediate 1 level, SCQF level 4.
Agnieszka was an extremely enthusiastic and able learner who made a very good and quick progress
in the course. Her performance during the course showed that Agnieszka’s approach to learning was
methodical and analytical. She proved to be a very resourceful and able learner, who used the advice
given appropriately, responded well to group activities undertaken in class and was equally very capable
of independent study.
Thanks to her hard-working attitude and enthusiasm for foreign languages, Agnieszka was able to
complete the Intermediate 1 course units ahead of schedule and progress to the next level, Intermediate
2 SCQF level 5, that same year. She successfully completed the internal units for Intermediate 2 and
obtained an A in the external assessment, the only learner at College who achieved that result in the
Intermediate 2 examination of that year.
During the course, Agnieszka also proved that, although she is a non-native English speaker, her oral
expression in English is excellent and her skills of literary analysis are too of an exceptional high
standard.
I have no doubt that Agnieszka is a gifted linguist and am confident that she will applied herself to the
best of her ability and will do extremely well and successfully complete any course of her choice at
university.
I can be contacted should it be required further information regarding this reference.
Yours faithfully,
