Essay On North Korea
North Korea and the United States: Two Realist informed and Underprepared Leaders Put into
rough and, for the moment, relatively simple terms, the key stakeholders in this situation reflect a
triangulation of the three major theories reflected above. The liberalism ideology has been the
dominant theory in America, as the postwar unified order expressed through the dominance of the
United Nations and its attempts to build a global peace. However, the contemporary global tide of
isolationist nationalism propelled Mr. Trump to power, and has also led to the development of
many nationalist parties in Europe, which have signaled a breaking away from the postwar,
globalized peace that reflects liberalist philosophy.
The nationalist approach ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Meanwhile, North Korea, long the subject of the domino theory, is now trying to maintain its cult
of personality even as its regime transitions to a third generation, one that is widely regarded to be
the weakest of the regime. Kim Jong Un remains something of an international enigma, with little
known about his life, but it is widely agreed that he has ...caused a perilous international crisis by
testing a nuclear weapon and threatening to use it against America and South Korea. He even
distributed a strange photograph of himself supposedly in the act of ordering merciless nuclear
strikes against the US mainland. In some ways, Kim Jong Un is a leader from the same mold as
Trump, in that he is trying to use strong words and theatrical approaches to maintain power; the
divisions he foments within the North Korean regime seem at least somewhat analogous to the
divisions sown by hardline nationalist conservatives in the United States. Although the international
community hoped that Kim Jong Un s rise to power would hearken toward a more modernized
North Korea, he has instead pursued a stridently nationalist regime that sees all other nations, and
especially the United States, as a direct threat to its existence.
Therefore, the central conflict involved in the current discourse between North Korea and the
United States boils down to two nations pursuing a realist approach to international relations. Bound
up within this paradoxically similar approach is the

Religion Is No Doubt A Popular Essay
College of Charleston
Zoroastrianism:
A Discussion
Christopher M. Kountz
REL 105 (05) 9:25 a.m. 10:40 a.m.
Spring 2015
In today s society, religion is no doubt a popular, if widely contested, topic. The vast array of
belief systems that exists worldwide has a significant influence on the opposing viewpoints of
many current hot button issues, and despite the intended separation of church and state here in
the United States; religion is both a social and political force. A person s spiritual beliefs often
provide the basis for his or her entire lifestyle, including physical appearance, dietary choices, and
perhaps most importantly, decisions that directly involve one s perspective of right and wrong.
Even those who do not identify with any one particular religion typically have some knowledge of
the world s major religions, such as Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, or Islam, simply because of
their enormous numbers in terms of followers which continue to rapidly expand.
However, beyond these theological giants exists a multitude of smaller, but no less meaningful,
other religions. Zoroastrianism, for example, is one of today s smallest religions, with an estimated
200,000 followers (Hartz, p. 8). As a comparison, the Islam religion boasts over one billion
followers (Sonn, p. 185). Yet even though modern day Zoroastrianism is not nearly as widespread
as its more prominent counterparts, it is nonetheless an important cultural constituent, both due to its

Cassie Martin Book Report
Cassie Martin is the daughter of a famous star comedienne Abby Grant. Cassie doesn t really
seem impressed by her moms fame or Hollywood at all. She then meets a film student named
Marc Jenkins. She finds him very appealing and wants to help finance his film. Although when she
ask to get money from her mom she refuses and becomes angry. She still wants to help Marc and
thinks she is old enough to help him, but she doesn t want to betray her mother. I give this book 3.5
stars out of 4.
My favorite character is Cassie, she is outgoing, kind, and really smart. She is outgoing towards
her new friends including Marc Jenkins. She is very kind for helping him finance for his movie.
She is also smart because she finds different ways to help Marc as much as she could without
having to ask her mom for money. Even when her mom gets her upset, she gets angry but finds a
way to change the situation.I also think that she is nice to her mom but her mom isn t nice to her
back when she ask for money. This is why Cassie is my favorite character, but also Marc too....

A Brief Biography of Pierre de Fermat
Pierre de Fermat Pierre de Fermat was born in 1601 near Montauban . He was born to a French
leather merchant and was home schooled. All of his free time was spent studying mathematics.
He spent a good amount of time in his life arguing with Descartes which ended well and turned
out to be a friendly conclusion . He found math very fun, delving into its deepest points and
amused himself by conjecturally restoring the work of Apollonius on plane loci. Fermat didn t
publish anything in his lifetime. He simple wrote a few papers but never really documented his
works completely. HIS work wasn t found written until after he died at Castres on January
12,1665 on loose sheets of paper or written in the margins of works which he had read, annotated,
and unaccompanied by any proof. This makes it hard to tell when it was written and whether or
not he had taken the ideas from someone else at that time period. At the age of 30, he became a
counselor for his local parliament at Toulouse. He was known as a very good and honest
counselor. There, he worked on most of his mathematical studies and was mostly self taught. He
wrote most of his papers there as well, even though the papers are few in numbers. His papers
were the final forms of his works and cannot be dated before 1660 . He never dated anything
himself, making it hard to pinpoint a particular date in which he had written these works. Fermat
studied many statistical problems. Here is an example of one

Mental Illnesses And Mental Health
Mental illnesses lead to more disability than any other chronic illnesses and contribute significantly
to the burden of diseases worldwide; moreover, the number of patients with mental illnesses and co
occurring physical illnesses are on the rise (SAMHSA, 2012; WHO, 2011). To meet this challenge,
more psychiatric nurses with appropriate mental healthtraining are needed, especially in the United
States and China. Psychiatric mental health nurses work with individuals and families to assess
their mental health needs, diagnose mental disorders, and offer a range of treatment plans and
services. The misconceptions and the neglect of Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing (PMHN) in
nursing education curricula make the recruitment of nurses for... Show more content on

strategies for repositioning psychiatric mental health nursing programs in the United States and
China.
State of Mental Health Nursing in United States and China
In the United States, mental disorders are common, often serious, yet treatable disorders that have a
major impact on the United States population. Mental disorders are prevalent among one in four
Americans and are second only to cardiovascular diseases as the leading disease burden in the
United States (Institute of Medicine [IOM], 2006). According to the Substance Abuse and Mental
Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), in 2009 almost 20% of the United States adult
population experienced acute mental illnesses (AMI) (excluding substance use disorders) in the
previous year; and 4.8% of adults had serious mental illnesses (SMI), which equates to
approximately 11 million adults annually (SAMHSA, 2012). Serving the mental health needs is a
growing challenge worldwide. The mental health scenario in China highlights the pressing need for

A Window Into Adults WithAttention-Deficit Hyper-Activity...
Much of the awareness associated with Attention Deficit Hyper Activity Disorder (ADHD), has
been linked to children and adolescents. The problem with that belief is that there s an ever
growing population of adults who have been diagnosed with the disorder and live with it day by
day. The process of living with the disability, getting diagnosed and receiving treatment, is an
interesting one that has begun to rapidly get attention over the past few years. The impact of this
disorder can range anywhere from a mild distress to a problem that spreads into all aspects of an
adults life. One of the main components to an adultliving with ADHD is the work related one.

(Adler, 2006). Many individuals tend to have risky behavior; therefore they get in trouble with
the law more than an individual without ADHD. Often many of them acquire several speeding
tickets throughout their lifetime and get their license suspended, in more severe cases they
have been known to cause more accidents, people between the age of 16 30 years of age are
already a huge percent of accidents, the addition of ADHD has given this statistic even worse
results. (Weisler Goodman, 2008). In one case example by Mark Stein (2008), a 24 year old
individual by the name of Tom had been attending college for over 4 years. The problem with
this scenario was that he didn t even have his associate s degree, his GPA was a 1.7 and he drank
heavily. All three of points have been often connected to ADHD. These forms of impairment can
often carry a huge burden on the parent s economical situation; such can be spending money on
college tuition when the child is continually failing courses. In many cases, Adults who live with
ADHD often do not seek medical help. They tend to adjust to the disability and blame themselves.
Individuals believe they are either to lazy or unintelligent . The main misconception within these
individuals is that they do not realize these symptoms were carried over from childhood. Many
factors to this belief can be that they did not have the

This was an example that happened most recent to why we use nuclear weapons and when we

Some of the underlying issues with fertility treatments are that some couples have to repeat the
whole process of treatments two to three times before the treatment works. Many times, couples are
left having to spend tens of thousands of dollars. The outcome from in vitro fertilization varies from
couple to couple. A big concern for the sergeant mother is that it can sometimes cost more than an
adoption. Having another woman carry your baby is stressful, you don t know the life they live
behind closed doors, or what they are putting into their body, it is hard to determine if your baby
is out of harms way. And, when looking into adoption the biggest question is to choose
International or Domestic. Whether you are adopting a child internationally or domestically you
are doing the best thing anyone could do by offering a child a place to call home. When adopting
internationally rather than domestically you have given a child the opportunity to experience
freedom in the United States, where they will be able to experience the beauty that life has to offer.
In many other countries children are left with inadequate water, no food, and no shelter. These

The Problem Of Cyber Crime
Introduction
Qualified candidates are limited since, for those investigating or examining cyber crime must be
highly trained specialists, requiring detective and technical skills, including knowledge of various
IT hardware and software, and forensic tools. Nevertheless, in the modern world computer or
computer related crime makes up a great amount of percentage of all the crimes happiness which is
bound to increase. The Office for Victim Assistance ensures that victims of crimes investigated by
the FBI are presented the opportunity to receive the services and notification as required by federal
law guidelines
Issues law enforcement must deal with regarding digital crime and terrorism.
The number of police agencies with advanced or computer crime unit has increased extensively
over the last several years, but the majority of these agencies serve large urban populations (Wolf,
2009). Also, prosecutors and judges are turning out to be well versed in computer crime and the
unique law and vagaries inherent in these cases. Thus, it has been unclear how well the state and
local law enforcement agencies are equipped to handle these offenses.
For instance, a study of forensic examiners found that they are frequently overworked and
experience stress related to their work. Actually, for those who were interviewed, half of them felt
that they did not have the workforce to complete their tasks at work (Wolf, 2009). In addition,
assessors recognize that they need greater training

The Iranian Revolution Essay
The emergence of the Islamic Republic in late 1970 s Iran demonstrates how middle class
Iranian people purged themselves of the Pahlavi Dynasty in an effort to continue down a more
righteous and egalitarian path. As a result, the country underwent a complete social upheaval and
in its place grew an overtly oppressive regime based in theoretical omnipotence. In response to
this regime, the very structure of political and social life was shaken and fundamentally
transformed as religion and politics became inexorable. As a result, gender roles and the battle
between public and private life were redrawn. Using various primary and secondary sources I will
show how the Revolution shaped secular middle class Iranians. Further, I will show how the... Show

other symbols of capitalism and decadence . These became symbols of regression in the eyes of
the Ayatollah and everyone must conform. The author struggles with the very idea of politics
and religion during this period as laws of forced veiling and oppression came into conflict with
her preconceptions of religion. The author cites an instances where the police locked the outside
doors of an Iranian cinema, set it on fire, and prohibited people from rescuing those inside.
According to the text, The BBC said there were 400 victims. The shah said that a group of

inferred by the word enjoy . Anything that was enjoyed such as drinking alcohol, dancing at

Iranians ran the risk of getting caught and did these things conspicuously. In Persepolis, the author

Ebola Virus Infection Treatment Management Essay
Scientists in Canada announced the successful treatment of Ebola viral infection in monkeys. The
encouraging results were published in the journal Science Translational Medicine on June 13.

Ebola hemorrhagic fever is a viral disease that was first recorded in 1976, when an outbreak
occurred in Yambuku, Zaire, a country that was latter renamed the Democratic Republic of
Congo (Walsh, Biek Real, 2005). During the outbreak 318 cases were recorded of which 280 (88%)
died. Later the same year, an outbreak occurred in Sudan where 284 cases were recorded with

Infection endothelial cell may be the main cause of hemorrhage and vascular damage. When tested
for Ebola viral antigens, some endothelial cells of tissues used for autopsy have shown positive
results (Hensley, Jones, Feldmann, Jahrling, Geisbert, 2005).
Apart from human, Ebola also infect other primates including gorillas and chimpanzees (Walsh,
Biek Real, 2005). The virus has also been found in the fruit bat. In a research conducted by Leroy
and colleagues IgG antibody to Ebola was recorded in 8.3% of the fruit bats under study. This study
hypothesized that fruit bats are the natural reservoir for Ebola virus. According to results of
laboratory studies, fruit bats have been able to support replication of Ebola Virus without showing
any symptoms of Ebola hemorrhagic fever (Leroy, Kumulungui, Pourrut et al. 2006).
Because the most common form of infection remains direct contact with bodily fluids (Bardi,
2002), it has been suggested Ebola infected human when hunters came in to contact with infected
primate carcasses. During the first outbreak, with little knowledge of the mode of infection, home
caregivers and hospital staff became the next line of victims. Secondary transmission also occurred
in hospital where unsterilized needles and syringes were reused. The only recorded case in Brittan
occurred as a result from accidental laboratory infection.
Since there is no cure or vaccine for Ebola hemorrhagic fever, quarantine has remained one of

Alexander Graham Bell Impact On Society
Imagine sending a letter every time you had something important to say. That letter could take
days to reach the person you trying to get it too. There was no trucks to send mail there were
only couriers. For example couriers would walk or ride horseback for days do deliver a message.
Therefore, one casual day on March tenth 1876 Alexander Graham Bell had changed the way of
communication. He invented the first telephone called the bell telephone named after its creator.

have security because we can call 911. We can order food instead of having to go out and get

began as large, clunky devices capable of transmitting, and receiving voice messages over short
distances. The telephone evolved into lighter transportable cellular devices capable of enabling

Spices And Its Effect On Food
Introduction
Spices, have been around for thousands of years. Spices would be used in food to flavor it,
giving it tastes like spicy or sour. The spices back then would be cherished as tradeable goods to
other countries for a trade of currency, but soon the early cultures found out that the spices they
were trading could be used to prevent food spoilage. As an antimicrobial, many spices could be
helpful to get rid of the bacteria that can be found on food, or to preserve the food as well.
Bacteria can spread from anywhere, through the air, from the ground, and even from a person s
hands right when food is about to be eaten. There are many spices used to preserve food like
onions, cinnamon, cloves, mustard, rosemary, sage, and black peppers. These kinds of spices are
classified as either strong, medium, or weak because of their inhibitory effect that they have with
bacteria. (Documents/Spices) Cinnamon is one of these spices with these strong inhibitory effects.
Cinnamon refers to the dried bark of different types of beverages and chocolates it can be made
into. Cinnamon would be used not only for food, but also used when making cosmetics. Not only
can cinnamon be used for food, but as a health promoting agent, to treat inflammation,
stomachaches, and urinary infections. (ncbi.nih.gov) Researchers have found that cinnamon can be
used as an antimicrobial factor to get reduce growth bacteria. (ncbi.nih.gov) Researchers soon

For instance, the story of Little Red Riding Hood doesn t end in a typical Disney style with Little

concludes with Little Red in conversation with her Grandmother in bed saying, Oh grandmother,
what big teeth you have! The wolf (disguised as the grandmother) then says, It s for eating you

children s story? Darnton s ideas were simple, History looked immobile at the village level,
because seigneurialism and the substance economy kept villagers bent over the soil, and
primitive techniques of farming gave them no opportunity to unbend (Darnton 25). With this,
life as a peasant was miserable so miserable that, In Crulai, Normandy 236 of every 1000 babies
died before their first birthday during the seventeenth century (Darnton 27). Death played a
gigantic role in a peasants life so much that it contaminated their stories, as well, gearing the
peasants towards survival as their main goal and or being the boss of other peasants. The tale of
Puss n Boots can support that claim, the version most kids know is a classic man s best friend tale
about a cat/fox helping the owner revamp his life and eventually become rich once again. Now
passed down through peasants the story speaks of the cat as a fairy (La Renarde) that solves

Essay about Democratic Republic of Congo Holocaust
The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) Holocaust was the bloodiest war fought. This was
due to the death toll, possibly larger than that of the Holocaust. Between 1998 and 2007, there
were a total of 5.4 million people dead. The number of those deaths has definitely gone up over
the years (Heaton 1). Genocide is very vital because of the people being slaughtered and giving
their lives away in order to support their political stance. Everyone, whether it is through war or
poverty, suffers from this immense tragedy. I was interested in the topic due to the little bit of

The deaths in this war are terrifyingly close to those in the Holocaust (Heaton 1). The massive
death toll would include that of the Rwanda Holocaust and the Congo Holocaust. These deaths
include murder, suicides, starvation, poverty, and disease. The political aspect of this situation
is the government killing off rebels and targeting specific groups such as Hutu s, Tutsi s, and the
DRC. They target people to rile up a dispute, start the war, and gain allies (World without
Genocide 2). Many people are dying whether due to poverty, indirectly, or political stance,
directly. The people suffering from the poverty aspect are getting the effects of the mass murders
and the country s political instability. Genocide describes the heinous act of killing others in order
to prove the point. In this case, Rwanda s government is targeting specific people. The Congo
War, a massive destruction to their country, is genocide. One reason it is, in fact, genocide is due
to the amount of murders occurring. But so far the brutal war in eastern Congo has not only lasted
longer than the Holocaust but also appears to have claimed more lives [than the Holocaust],

further than what it seems like at first. The everyday struggle people go through to stay alive is

Marketing Development Of The Luxury Goods Industry
1.2.2.4Regional feature
In the luxury goods industry, the rapid development has brought the market more brands and the
latest design products. Industry matures has caused the accelerated development of a wide range
of luxury goods (Chiari, 2009). However, one thing was constant, no matter how much increased
production costs, the large luxury brand of origin will not be transfer. Long cultural history is an
integral part of the luxury brand, and the origin of products have also brought a certain cultural
value for luxury goods (Heine, 2012).Especially for Asian consumers, it seems that in the far west,
craft superb tailoring and rich cultural history of the western area are the pursue of Chinese
consumers (Sombart, 2001).Louis Vuitton s president has said that (2013), when customers buy
our products, they expect Western quality. The mystery of the origin of our brand is closely linked
with our brand . Although with the close of trade, many luxury goods in the production and sales
process will cooperation with other country s companies, the final product definitely launch in the
country of origin. Gucci is a legendary brand in Florence (Italy), and it will also strictly control the
production done in Tuscany (Italy), to ensure pure and high quality products (Gucci, 2015).
Therefore, a regional feature has brought an intangible value and more local cultural characteristics
to the luxury goods.

Descriptive Essay About A Football Team
It is gameday. I arrive at the school at the usual time of a quarter till five. I grab my bag of things
I need for the night and I make my walk from the parking lot into the locker room. I get inside of
the locker room and I see all of the familiar faces that I have grown accustomed to seeing nearly
every day for a couple of hours. I am so close to all of these guys on the football team. We are all
so similar. Coach Carpenter comes out and conducts are usual ritual of our pregame walk
through. When that was over I was able to see how different we actually are when getting ready
for the games. I look to my right and see guys on their phones, texting their girlfriends about
plans for the weekend and not even thinking about the playing time that they don t have. I look
to my left and I see the outcasts of the team. Some keeping to themselves in their own little
world, others trying their best to fit into the groups of people around the place. You can hear the
sounds of the laughter coming from straight ahead. The ornery group of friends on the team are
usually up to no good, messing around to pass time before we take the field. Behind me I know
are the underclassman, all dreaming of their days of making it under the lights and living the
dreams they have had since they were young. Outside the doors of our locker room is a small area
that guys enjoy tossing the football around or wait for our team trainer to tape them up. You have
players and coaches. Waterboys and trainers.

Letunov is a streaky, lanky forward with a ton of offensive ability. Letunov is a shifty forward,

may not have been able to, playing time. All reports suggest that Letunov will be given every

Biblical Teaching On The Creation Of Man And The Image Of God
Introduction This paper will attempt to demonstrate the following assertions: 1) Mankind is
created in the Image of God, 2) Every human being is created with (and maintains throughout
their life) the dignity, value, and worth that comes from being an image bearer of the Creator
God of the Universe, and 3) God, as the Creator, has sovereign rule over all matters of life and
death. These goals will be accomplished by first examining the Biblical teaching on the creation of
man and woman in the Image of God. After examining some texts, establishing that mankind is
created in God s Image, I will discuss the implication of this assertion: namely, that every humanlife
is sacred. Finally, I will look at how God s sovereigntyshould inform our... Show more content on

Genesis 5:1 again tells us that man was made in the likeness of God, but it teaches us something
else as well. The same word for Hebrew word for likeness (demuth) is used to describe the birth of
Seth, a son in Adam s own likeness. So, not only were Adam and Evemade in the image of God,
their offspring were likewise made in the image of God. Our third passage shows us that this
truth has carried on throughout the generations. Genesis 9:6 tells: Whoever sheds the blood of
man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in his own image. One of the most
important aspects of these last two passages is that they come after the Fall. There is no indication
that the Image of God has been removed from humanity as a result of their rebellion against God.
Human DignityKnowing that mankind is created in the Image of God has implications for how
we should view all human beings. As we read in Genesis 9:6 (listed above), we see the God
ordained penalty for taking a human life. This strict punishment for the taking of human life is
rooted in our creation by God in His own image. The Sixth Commandment emphasizes and
clarifies the warning in Genesis 9:6, as God commands His people, You shall not murder (Exodus
20:13). The taking of innocent human life is explicitly forbidden by God, because all human
beings have intrinsic value by virtue of our creation in God s Image. There is no corresponding

eventuating in a criminal act such as piracy becoming the biggest user of the internet.
People are under the impression that downloading/watching a pirated film on the internet is
harmless, when it is really theft. What these people fail to realise is that film making accounts
for over 2.4 million jobs in the US, and is a major contributor to the global economy. The film
industry isn t the only one that loses money to piracy, as the Department for Professional
Employees says the government loses tax revenue that would have been generated by the sale
of non pirated goods. The Motion Picture Association of America says that an estimated $58
billion in economic output is lost to the US economy annually due to copyright theft. This has a
resounding effect on the jobs needed to make films. Most of the workers in Hollywood are on
average wages even though their services such as costume making, food preparing or assisting
directors are all vital. If their films fail to earn their budget back, their wages are cut, or even
worse, they lose their job. Films aren t just about the rich actors and lavish sets that appear on

Symbolism In Jesus Camp
In 2006, directors Heidi Erving and Cahal Grady released Jesus Camp . The directors go to Devil
s Lake, North Dakota to document a camp run by and for Evangelicals. Becky Fisher, the camp s
leader, admits that society ought to indocrinate its children. The word evangelical means fervent
or zealous. Becky Fisher furvently trains the children to develop a one sided perception of the
world so they can take back America for Christ. While all Evangelicals do not behave this way, the
directors present a group of these individuals and what they live for. In Jesus Camp , the directors
create a political context, elements of juxtaposition and symbolism to promote the discussion of the
following: when does education become indoctrination?
With the presidential election of George Bush in 2005, Evangelicals felt empowered. He was a
conservative and many of his political ideals aligned with the evangelicals . Becky Fisher utilizes
the camp activities comminicate conservative political ideology to the children. In Jesus Camp ,
Becky Fisher denies the claim that her camp is politically inclined. Yet, her camp activities assert
a different side of the argument. For example, the camp s leaders told the children that abortion is
wrong. The camp s leaders spoke of Roe v. Wadeand how it legalized abortion within the first

As of 2017, the United States of America is still the only country in the world to put men on the

revolutionary pieces of technology during the 1960 s because America went from almost nothing
on rockets to men on the moon. But there are some rockets that outshone the others because those
rockets did great things or they came back from near extinction. The U.S. space program made

What Are The Obstacles Ralph Faced In Lord Of The Flies
The three most important obstacles Ralph faced in his efforts to govern the Island was, his
fairness, fear and his morals. The first obstacle of his effort was his fairness. Ralph at the
beginning of the story was voted on to be the chief. He however, saw how much it hurt Jack, that
he was not picked. Ralph, trying to be fair, decided to let Jack have control of the hunters or the
choir. The choir belongs to you, of course, (pg. 23) Ralph said to Jack. This gave Jack power, and
left him wanting more and because he wanted what Ralph had, power, there was a tension between
Jack and Ralph. The second obstacle Ralph had to overcome was his fear. Ralph had to overcome
his fears of not being rescued, and the beast. In the beginning, the most important... Show more

Ralph saw a boat at this point in the story and saw the fire was out. This outraged Ralph because
he was afraid of staying on the Island forever, The fire was dead, the ship was gone. Could they

his anger, and realized keeping the boys together was the most important action. Ralph learned
that he had to put others first before his own wants. If Ralph did not overcome fear of being on
the Island forever, the boys would have been lost to savagery from that point. Meaning they
would not be governed anymore. The last obstacle Ralph had to overcome was his morals in
order to govern the boys. Ralph was a character based on civilization and morals but, because the
boys were losing their morals, they were losing their interest in Ralph. The boys started to relate
to the savagery of Jack, than the morals of Ralph. If Ralph would of switched from his morals to
savagery he would of kept his power but, because he never got over this obstacle, he lost his power,
which was everything he had. This put Jack ahead of Ralph in power causing the boys to be lost

Operation Barbarossa Essays
OPERATION BARBAROSSA
The invasion of Russia was the largest military campaign of the Second World War. Operation
Barbarossa, as it was known, was launched on 22 June 1941 and completely took Russia by surprise.
The widening war raging in Africa and eastern Europe were key distractions for Hitler from his
ultimate goal of attacking Russia.
Although the British army remained undefeated in the west, Hitler s goal proved an urgency for
him to begin moving on the east. Whilst planning was made throughout 1940 for the invasion of
Russia, time was favorable towards the Russians and they continued to mobilize their resources and
strengthen their defense forces.

The German army once again succeeded here, with the Ukraine being captured along with 600 000
Russian prisoners. With this success, the push for Leningrad and Moscow began once again,
however the situation began to change with autumn rains slowing advances and winter creeping up.
It was during the Russian winter that German troops entered Leningrad and began a 3 year siege,
however the city never fell. At the same time, one army group reached the outskirts of Moscow but
by December night temperatures fell to below 50 degrees, German soldiers lacked adequate
clothing, fuel froze in the tanks, weapons jammed and the armies were struggling for supplies. It
was then that the Russian army, reinforced with troops from the Eastern front, launched a major
counter attack and drove the Germans back 150 kilometers back before they stabilized their line.
In the course of the invasion, the Russians had lost over 5 million soldiers and Germany over 1
million, but the German campaign still failed.
Though there is not one single causing factor, the Germans had underestimated the Russians who
had men to spare and were encouraged by Stalin s message of Nationalism where he called on to
defend Mother Russia against the invaders. Germany s military strategy was also flawed as there
were too many goals at once and not one principal target

The Contributions of Frederick Douglas, William Apess, Sarah Margaret Fuller, and Sojourner Truth
As has been noted before, when we look at the authors of The Declaration of Independence, we are
quite aware that the document was written in the interest of the people who were there. The
wealthy, white, landowners make up the Constitution to fit their needs and exclude everyone else.
The people most notably left without rights are African American s, Native American s and

He goes on to explain his real life experiences. Douglas says: Fellow citizens, I am not wanting in
respect for the fathers of this republic. The signers of the Declaration of Independence were
brave men. They were great men too great enough to give fame to a great age. It does not often
happen to a nation to raise, at one time, such a number of truly great men. The point from which
I am compelled to view them is not, certainly, the most favorable; and yet I cannot contemplate
their great deeds with less than admiration. They were statesmen, patriots, and heroes, and for the
good they did, and the principles they contend for, I will unite with you to honor their memory
(1822). What Douglas does here is recognize and respect these men to the crowd and make
himself part of the group by honoring them together and yet he still gets his point across. Douglas
was known as an articulate antislavery speaker his speeches for the Massachusetts Antislavery
Society cemented Douglas role as an abolitionists. Douglas also worked for the Underground

Canine Bone Development And Developmental Diseases
Canine bone development and developmental bone diseases are of growing interest to researchers
and consumers. In order to produce healthier canines and to reduce the incidence of diseases
commonly found in canines, it is important to understand what bone development is and how it
occurs, factors that influence bonedevelopment, and developmental diseases. Development can be
defined as a series of changes that takes place in an animal beginning in the embryonic state and
lasting until maturity. These changes lead to a more complex organizational state of the body,
starting with simple cellular organization and leading to formation of body systems.
Ossification Mechanisms
Intramembranous ossification and endochondral ossification are the types of bone development
that occur during fetal development. Intramembranous ossification is the formation of flat bones
(i.e, cranial bones). The first stage of this type of ossification is the formation of an ossification
center in the fibrous connective tissue membrane. The ossification center is formed by
mesenchymal cells differentiating into osteoblasts. The osteoblasts then secrete osteoid into the
fibrous membrane and is subsequently mineralized. As the osteoid accumulates, it is laid down
between fetal blood vessels, forming woven bone. The vascularized osteoid then condenses and
forms the periosteum. The final stage of intramembranous ossifcation is the formation of the the
bone collar in compact bone and the formation of red

A Background On Christa Wolf s Life
Ever since I was a young girl, I ve had an immense interest in learning about the past, more
specifically, the past of my very own ancestors. This interest was what pushed me to start learning
German when I was eleven years old. With every year and every German class we learned about
sentence structure, verb conjugation, and most importantly, I was introduced to German authors.
But, in all of my years of learning German and reading different works, I was never introduced to
any German authors that were female. This, in part with my passion for learning new things about
Germany, is what fueled me to write this research paper on Christa Wolf. In this paper, I hope to
provide a background on Christa Wolf s life, take a deeper look at some of her most important and
influential works, and take a look at some of the controversy revolving around Wolf.
Born Christa Ihlenfeld on March 18th 1929 in a town by the name of Landsberg an der Warthe
(what is today the town of GorzГіw Wielkopolski, Poland), Christa s father owned a grocery store
with some help from Christa s mother, which provided Christa and her younger brother with a
comfortable and carefree childhood. 1 Gorzow wielkopolski is located approximately twenty five
miles from Germany s eastern border. Landsberg, with its modest red brick houses that line the
river, and the surrounding countryside, with its dark pine forests and sandy hills, are the perfect
setting for a novel. These characteristics, allowed many of Wolf s

The Use Of Light In White Mirror
Light is often used in films and television to show underlying thematic tensions in the narrative. In
the episode White Mirror from the Netflix series Black Mirror, the juxtaposition between light and
dark is used to show how Joe is struggling to accept the truth that he killed two people. In the first
scene and in the confession scene lightfrom the outside world represents truth, the darkness of the
cabin represents avoidance of the truth, and the shift between light to dark shows Joe s
transformation from avoidance to acceptance of his past.
Light is often associated with many ideas, so when the white light of the windows shine into the
cabin, it is necessary to consider the association light has within this narrative. The light in this

Critical Analyzing Rickard Jonsson s Research Boys ...
Student achievement is one of the most significant goals that every education policy is intended to
make better. Recent developments in information and communication technology (ICTs) and
pedagogical improvisations create better platforms for positive student achievement. However,
many aspects are associated with the overall achievement including physical, biological, and
psychological aspects. All the three parts are associated with the gender. Many studies have shown
that gender affects the achievement of students in schools and in most of the cases boys perform
poorly as compared to girl students. This paper is intended to establish a diagnostic framework of
reasons behind the underachievement of boys by critically analysing Rickard Jonsson s research
Boys Anti School Culture? Narratives and School Practices . The researcher selected two
secondary schools situated at Stockholm, the capital city of Sweden. This place is a recognized
multi ethnic suburb with diverse cultural richness. In this research study, Jonsson (p. 277) asserts
that underachievement of boys has been a very hot public debate and at most of the times it is

The Models Of The Automotive Industry
As general of a concept the automotive industry is, as time goes, anybody will start to observe the
different car platforms and consumer markets that emerge from the growing industry. One of such
platforms created was the Pony Car platform, or more colloquially know as just the 2 door sports
car platform. And with this new brand of car came a new brand advertising as well as consumer.
Consumers will start to familiarize themselves with the various new ways of advertising through
the years in this market. The American consumer sports car market had one of the most dynamic
advertising markets of the automotive industry, it changed with the decades and contributed to the
creation of the sports car enthusiast demographic we know today.... Show more content on

These very appeals as well as what Fowles writes about in his article are very relatable to the
automotive industry.
Cars have been an essential part of living for some time now. Ever since mass production allowed
for the wide spread distribution of cars, they have been paramount to everything from our economy
to our daily commute. Globalization along with the growing market caused competition among
manufacturers, and so manufacturers had to find ways to appeal to the new competitive consumer
market. Automotive advertising started to take a new form and targeted peoples particular
interests, emotions, and desires instead of being strictly informative or utilitarian. Even the car
themselves had to change along with the decades to provide luxuries and compete with the market.
Although many car manufactures took steps in the right direction, one great example of this
changing market is the 1955 Ford Thunderbird.
For Ford, the Thunderbird was a luxury consumer family car platform that started in 1955. It
featured specifications that fared well in the competitive market. The Thunderbird could have
come in either four seats or two seated versions. Ford advertised the car like they would have any
other car, however, the advertising ultimately did not fit for the two car version of the car.
Because of this, the two door Ford Thunderbird is somewhat of a rarity now due to not having
been so successful. For Ford, its advertising

Hills Like White Elephant Rhetorical Analysis
Ernest Hemingway s Hills Like White Elephant is about a conversation between American man and
his girlfriend at a train station during their transit to Madrid. While the author does not specify the
type of surgery the girl is headed to, but with the great use of euphuism, Hemingway hints towards
the operation being an abortion. Although the idea of the story is about couple s conversation, the
reader can perceive that neither truly communicates and can sense the rift between them. During
the beginning of the story, the conversation between the couple strikes normal: it seems like two
young individuals in love getting away for a romantic gateway. Ordering beers and trying new
alcohol while an effort to tell joke shows the couples love and

Ode to a Nightingale This essay discusses the numerous...
In his poem Ode to a Nightingale, John Keats uses powerful, distinct symbolism and imagery. The
nightingale, for instance, is interpreted by many to be a symbol of Keats poetic inspiration and
satisfaction. This symbolism can be seen by the vivid descriptions Keats hives the nightingale.
However, the nightingale is definitely not the only item of symbolism in Ode to a Nightingale. In a
short piece of art, Keats apparently has mastered using many different items, phrases, and brilliant,
descriptive metaphorical text to symbolize something he yearns for. Countless pieces of the poem
indicate that he also wishes for immortality and the ability to escape from reality and into another
state of consciousness and the ecstasy of the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By an effort of the imagination, Keats attempts to suppress all knowledge of the human
suffering made evident in stanza three. He seeks to completely enter into the ecstasy of the
nightingale s song so he becomes nothing more than an instrument recording the tiniest of
physical sensation. For example, in stanza five, Keats describes the beauty of a place in the
most minute detail. Since he is unable to actually see this place, he is using the sheer force of
his imagination. In this particular stanza, the use of imagery is indeed present. The soft sounds
and descriptions of flowers yield a very enchanting and beautiful atmosphere. Where Keats says,
Now more than ever seems it rich to die, / To cease upon the midnight with no pain, / While thou
art pouring forth thy soul abroad / In such an ecstasy! (lines 55 58), is an indication of how he
believes it would be marvelous for his life to end in such a state of blissful heaven. However, the
irony of this is that, in Keats case, death would mean the end of the nightingale s song. He realizes
this when he says, Still wouldst thou sing, and I have ears in vain / to thy high requiem become a
sod. (lines 59 60). This piece is an indication of Keats enchantment with the nightingale and its song.

510,000 whose jobs indirectly depended on tourism (John, 2006). According to World Travel and
Tourism Council and Oxford Economic Forecasting, Vietnam s tourism sector is expected to
experience the sixth highest growth rate of countries in the world between 2007 and 2016 (
Vietnam s Tourism Grows, 2006). Aside from this quantifiable growth, tourism in Vietnam also
continues to change in character. New tourism niches, new types of tourism attractions and
enterprises and new kinds of tourists have been appearing in Vietnam since 1986. Doi moi is an
ongoing process that is reflected in all aspects of the Vietnamese society, economy and politics.

Position and Methodology
This paper presents two primary positions: (1) changes in the tourism accommodation sector in
Vietnam since the beginning of the doi moi programme have been characterised and, to a certain
extent, driven by the dynamic interactions between state owned enterprises, foreign direct
investment and domestic private operators in this sector, and (2) these changes are linked to the
political, social and economic changes occurring in Vietnam within this period of transition. To
articulate these positions in detail, the author has divided the development of Vietnam s
accommodation market since the beginning of doi moi in 1986 into five periods, each of which

Leadership Self Reflection Report
Self Reflection The purpose of this paper is to focus on my leadership qualities. I will discuss my
key values and beliefs, along with my strongest attribute and one of my weaknesses or an area that
needs improvement. Next, I will discuss two managers or leaders, one that I really liked and one
that I greatly disliked. Finally, I will discuss how I would like my direct reports to perceive me as a
manger and leader. Key Values and Beliefs
Upon reflection, I believe that my primary key value is integrity. I value integrity over all other
values and beliefs. To me, integrity is the root or base upon which our character is built. Without
integrity, our foundation has no substance and our other values are without merit. Another set of
values that is important to me is competence and knowledge. The ability to accomplish a task to
the best of my capabilities is fundamental to my sense of perfectionism. While, no one is perfect ,
may be true, I believe it is important to strive toward that goal. If we set our standards at less
than 100%, we will achieve less than 100%. Second, knowledge is a critical component in
achieving competence. I believe learning should be a life long objective. The information and
skills that come from learning add to your experience and provide you with the means to achieve
your goals. These three values, integrity, competence, and knowledge form the basis of my belief
system.

My strongest attribute is my resolve for quality and

The House of Mirth Essay
The House of Mirth Lily and Selden are on a walk together, Lily having broken her second

she had a headache that first prevented her from going to church and second from going on a

home in Peekskill. Selden tells Lily that he views everything she does as having been

objections in order to keep people out (75). In this sense Selden is the ideal man to be the
observer in the novel since his perceptions will not be corrupted by Lily s influence. Another
feature that Selden brings into the novel is that of being amphibious, that is, being able to live
with the elite and also with the working classes. I have tried to remain amphibious. Selden is in
fact the only man who works in the novel, and his ability to live in both worlds is symbolic of
the role of the bachelor in the society. As Lily pointed out earlier, she would never be allowed
the pleasure of living alone and still maintaining her societal position. Once again the intimacy of
the cigarette is shared with Selden, but now the cigarette is used to show casual friendship rather
than sexual desire or marriage intrigue. This cigarette puts the final rejection on Mr. Gryce, for

Cerebral aneurysms are pathological localized enlargements of weak blood vessels in the brain
that balloon and fill with blood. These blood vessels can then rupture, sending blood out of the

According to Bell (2012), the most probable outcomes of in group favoritism in jobs is the

  • 2. Essay On North Korea North Korea and the United States: Two Realist informed and Underprepared Leaders Put into rough and, for the moment, relatively simple terms, the key stakeholders in this situation reflect a triangulation of the three major theories reflected above. The liberalism ideology has been the dominant theory in America, as the postwar unified order expressed through the dominance of the United Nations and its attempts to build a global peace. However, the contemporary global tide of isolationist nationalism propelled Mr. Trump to power, and has also led to the development of many nationalist parties in Europe, which have signaled a breaking away from the postwar, globalized peace that reflects liberalist philosophy. The nationalist approach ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Meanwhile, North Korea, long the subject of the domino theory, is now trying to maintain its cult of personality even as its regime transitions to a third generation, one that is widely regarded to be the weakest of the regime. Kim Jong Un remains something of an international enigma, with little known about his life, but it is widely agreed that he has ...caused a perilous international crisis by testing a nuclear weapon and threatening to use it against America and South Korea. He even distributed a strange photograph of himself supposedly in the act of ordering merciless nuclear strikes against the US mainland. In some ways, Kim Jong Un is a leader from the same mold as Trump, in that he is trying to use strong words and theatrical approaches to maintain power; the divisions he foments within the North Korean regime seem at least somewhat analogous to the divisions sown by hardline nationalist conservatives in the United States. Although the international community hoped that Kim Jong Un s rise to power would hearken toward a more modernized North Korea, he has instead pursued a stridently nationalist regime that sees all other nations, and especially the United States, as a direct threat to its existence. Therefore, the central conflict involved in the current discourse between North Korea and the United States boils down to two nations pursuing a realist approach to international relations. Bound up within this paradoxically similar approach is the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Religion Is No Doubt A Popular Essay College of Charleston Zoroastrianism: A Discussion Christopher M. Kountz REL 105 (05) 9:25 a.m. 10:40 a.m. Spring 2015 In today s society, religion is no doubt a popular, if widely contested, topic. The vast array of belief systems that exists worldwide has a significant influence on the opposing viewpoints of many current hot button issues, and despite the intended separation of church and state here in the United States; religion is both a social and political force. A person s spiritual beliefs often provide the basis for his or her entire lifestyle, including physical appearance, dietary choices, and perhaps most importantly, decisions that directly involve one s perspective of right and wrong. Even those who do not identify with any one particular religion typically have some knowledge of the world s major religions, such as Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, or Islam, simply because of their enormous numbers in terms of followers which continue to rapidly expand. However, beyond these theological giants exists a multitude of smaller, but no less meaningful, other religions. Zoroastrianism, for example, is one of today s smallest religions, with an estimated 200,000 followers (Hartz, p. 8). As a comparison, the Islam religion boasts over one billion followers (Sonn, p. 185). Yet even though modern day Zoroastrianism is not nearly as widespread as its more prominent counterparts, it is nonetheless an important cultural constituent, both due to its ... • 4. Cassie Martin Book Report Cassie Martin is the daughter of a famous star comedienne Abby Grant. Cassie doesn t really seem impressed by her moms fame or Hollywood at all. She then meets a film student named Marc Jenkins. She finds him very appealing and wants to help finance his film. Although when she ask to get money from her mom she refuses and becomes angry. She still wants to help Marc and thinks she is old enough to help him, but she doesn t want to betray her mother. I give this book 3.5 stars out of 4. My favorite character is Cassie, she is outgoing, kind, and really smart. She is outgoing towards her new friends including Marc Jenkins. She is very kind for helping him finance for his movie. She is also smart because she finds different ways to help Marc as much as she could without having to ask her mom for money. Even when her mom gets her upset, she gets angry but finds a way to change the situation.I also think that she is nice to her mom but her mom isn t nice to her back when she ask for money. This is why Cassie is my favorite character, but also Marc too.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Where she meets Trent Tyler who calls her a Nobody . • 5. A Brief Biography of Pierre de Fermat Pierre de Fermat Pierre de Fermat was born in 1601 near Montauban . He was born to a French leather merchant and was home schooled. All of his free time was spent studying mathematics. He spent a good amount of time in his life arguing with Descartes which ended well and turned out to be a friendly conclusion . He found math very fun, delving into its deepest points and amused himself by conjecturally restoring the work of Apollonius on plane loci. Fermat didn t publish anything in his lifetime. He simple wrote a few papers but never really documented his works completely. HIS work wasn t found written until after he died at Castres on January 12,1665 on loose sheets of paper or written in the margins of works which he had read, annotated, and unaccompanied by any proof. This makes it hard to tell when it was written and whether or not he had taken the ideas from someone else at that time period. At the age of 30, he became a counselor for his local parliament at Toulouse. He was known as a very good and honest counselor. There, he worked on most of his mathematical studies and was mostly self taught. He wrote most of his papers there as well, even though the papers are few in numbers. His papers were the final forms of his works and cannot be dated before 1660 . He never dated anything himself, making it hard to pinpoint a particular date in which he had written these works. Fermat studied many statistical problems. Here is an example of one ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Mental Illnesses And Mental Health Mental illnesses lead to more disability than any other chronic illnesses and contribute significantly to the burden of diseases worldwide; moreover, the number of patients with mental illnesses and co occurring physical illnesses are on the rise (SAMHSA, 2012; WHO, 2011). To meet this challenge, more psychiatric nurses with appropriate mental healthtraining are needed, especially in the United States and China. Psychiatric mental health nurses work with individuals and families to assess their mental health needs, diagnose mental disorders, and offer a range of treatment plans and services. As a result of this collaboration, this paper (1) describes the state of mental health nursing in the United States and China; (2) presents and overview of contributing factors related to current numbers and interest of new nurses in psychiatric mental health; and (3) discusses marketing strategies for repositioning psychiatric mental health nursing programs in the United States and China. State of Mental Health Nursing in United States and China In the United States, mental disorders are common, often serious, yet treatable disorders that have a major impact on the United States population. Mental disorders are prevalent among one in four Americans and are second only to cardiovascular diseases as the leading disease burden in the United States (Institute of Medicine [IOM], 2006). According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), in 2009 almost 20% of the United States adult population experienced acute mental illnesses (AMI) (excluding substance use disorders) in the previous year; and 4.8% of adults had serious mental illnesses (SMI), which equates to approximately 11 million adults annually (SAMHSA, 2012). • 7. A Window Into Adults WithAttention-Deficit Hyper-Activity... Much of the awareness associated with Attention Deficit Hyper Activity Disorder (ADHD), has been linked to children and adolescents. The problem with that belief is that there s an ever growing population of adults who have been diagnosed with the disorder and live with it day by day. The process of living with the disability, getting diagnosed and receiving treatment, is an interesting one that has begun to rapidly get attention over the past few years. The impact of this disorder can range anywhere from a mild distress to a problem that spreads into all aspects of an adults life. One of the main components to an adultliving with ADHD is the work related one. Adults with the disability have a much higher probability of getting fired... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (Adler, 2006). Many individuals tend to have risky behavior; therefore they get in trouble with the law more than an individual without ADHD. Often many of them acquire several speeding tickets throughout their lifetime and get their license suspended, in more severe cases they have been known to cause more accidents, people between the age of 16 30 years of age are already a huge percent of accidents, the addition of ADHD has given this statistic even worse results. (Weisler Goodman, 2008). In one case example by Mark Stein (2008), a 24 year old individual by the name of Tom had been attending college for over 4 years. The problem with this scenario was that he didn t even have his associate s degree, his GPA was a 1.7 and he drank heavily. All three of points have been often connected to ADHD. These forms of impairment can often carry a huge burden on the parent s economical situation; such can be spending money on college tuition when the child is continually failing courses. In many cases, Adults who live with ADHD often do not seek medical help. They tend to adjust to the disability and blame themselves. Individuals believe they are either to lazy or unintelligent . The main misconception within these individuals is that they do not realize these symptoms were carried over from childhood. Many factors to this belief can be that they did not have the ... On President Trump s orders, US warships launched 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles at the airbase that was home to the warplanes that carried out the chemical attacks (Starr.) Having another woman carry your baby is stressful, you don t know the life they live behind closed doors, or what they are putting into their body, it is hard to determine if your baby is out of harms way. And, when looking into adoption the biggest question is to choose International or Domestic. The Iranian Revolution Essay The emergence of the Islamic Republic in late 1970 s Iran demonstrates how middle class Iranian people purged themselves of the Pahlavi Dynasty in an effort to continue down a more righteous and egalitarian path. As a result, the country underwent a complete social upheaval and in its place grew an overtly oppressive regime based in theoretical omnipotence. In response to this regime, the very structure of political and social life was shaken and fundamentally transformed as religion and politics became inexorable. As an antimicrobial, many spices could be helpful to get rid of the bacteria that can be found on food, or to preserve the food as well. Darnton s ideas were simple, History looked immobile at the village level, because seigneurialism and the substance economy kept villagers bent over the soil, and primitive techniques of farming gave them no opportunity to unbend (Darnton 25). The same word for Hebrew word for likeness (demuth) is used to describe the birth of Seth, a son in Adam s own likeness. So, not only were Adam and Evemade in the image of God, their offspring were likewise made in the image of God. Our third passage shows us that this truth has carried on throughout the generations. Genesis 9:6 tells: Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in his own image. One of the most important aspects of these last two passages is that they come after the Fall. There is no indication that the Image of God has been removed from humanity as a result of their rebellion against God. Human DignityKnowing that mankind is created in the Image of God has implications for how we should view all human beings. As we read in Genesis 9:6 (listed above), we see the God ordained penalty for taking a human life. This strict punishment for the taking of human life is rooted in our creation by God in His own image. The Sixth Commandment emphasizes and clarifies the warning in Genesis 9:6, as God commands His people, You shall not murder (Exodus 20:13). These rockets were some revolutionary pieces of technology during the 1960 s because America went from almost nothing on rockets to men on the moon. • 31. What Are The Obstacles Ralph Faced In Lord Of The Flies The three most important obstacles Ralph faced in his efforts to govern the Island was, his fairness, fear and his morals. The first obstacle of his effort was his fairness. Ralph at the beginning of the story was voted on to be the chief. He however, saw how much it hurt Jack, that he was not picked. Ralph, trying to be fair, decided to let Jack have control of the hunters or the choir. The choir belongs to you, of course, (pg. 23) Ralph said to Jack. This gave Jack power, and left him wanting more and because he wanted what Ralph had, power, there was a tension between Jack and Ralph. The second obstacle Ralph had to overcome was his fear. Ralph learned that he had to put others first before his own wants. If Ralph did not overcome fear of being on the Island forever, the boys would have been lost to savagery from that point. Meaning they would not be governed anymore. The last obstacle Ralph had to overcome was his morals in order to govern the boys. Ralph was a character based on civilization and morals but, because the boys were losing their morals, they were losing their interest in Ralph. The boys started to relate to the savagery of Jack, than the morals of Ralph. Operation Barbarossa, as it was known, was launched on 22 June 1941 and completely took Russia by surprise. The widening war raging in Africa and eastern Europe were key distractions for Hitler from his ultimate goal of attacking Russia. Although the British army remained undefeated in the west, Hitler s goal proved an urgency for him to begin moving on the east. Whilst planning was made throughout 1940 for the invasion of Russia, time was favorable towards the Russians and they continued to mobilize their resources and strengthen their defense forces. The German army once again succeeded here, with the Ukraine being captured along with 600 000 Russian prisoners. With this success, the push for Leningrad and Moscow began once again, however the situation began to change with autumn rains slowing advances and winter creeping up. It was during the Russian winter that German troops entered Leningrad and began a 3 year siege, however the city never fell. At the same time, one army group reached the outskirts of Moscow but by December night temperatures fell to below 50 degrees, German soldiers lacked adequate clothing, fuel froze in the tanks, weapons jammed and the armies were struggling for supplies. It was then that the Russian army, reinforced with troops from the Eastern front, launched a major counter attack and drove the Germans back 150 kilometers back before they stabilized their line. In the course of the invasion, the Russians had lost over 5 million soldiers and Germany over 1 million, but the German campaign still failed. Though there is not one single causing factor, the Germans had underestimated the Russians who had men to spare and were encouraged by Stalin s message of Nationalism where he called on to defend Mother Russia against the invaders. The Contributions of Frederick Douglas, William Apess, Sarah Margaret Fuller, and Sojourner Truth As has been noted before, when we look at the authors of The Declaration of Independence, we are quite aware that the document was written in the interest of the people who were there. The wealthy, white, landowners make up the Constitution to fit their needs and exclude everyone else. The people most notably left without rights are African American s, Native American s and Women. He goes on to explain his real life experiences. Douglas says: Fellow citizens, I am not wanting in respect for the fathers of this republic. The signers of the Declaration of Independence were brave men. They were great men too great enough to give fame to a great age. It does not often happen to a nation to raise, at one time, such a number of truly great men. The point from which I am compelled to view them is not, certainly, the most favorable; and yet I cannot contemplate their great deeds with less than admiration. They were statesmen, patriots, and heroes, and for the good they did, and the principles they contend for, I will unite with you to honor their memory (1822). What Douglas does here is recognize and respect these men to the crowd and make himself part of the group by honoring them together and yet he still gets his point across. • 35. Canine Bone Development And Developmental Diseases Canine bone development and developmental bone diseases are of growing interest to researchers and consumers. In order to produce healthier canines and to reduce the incidence of diseases commonly found in canines, it is important to understand what bone development is and how it occurs, factors that influence bonedevelopment, and developmental diseases. Development can be defined as a series of changes that takes place in an animal beginning in the embryonic state and lasting until maturity. These changes lead to a more complex organizational state of the body, starting with simple cellular organization and leading to formation of body systems. Ossification Mechanisms Intramembranous ossification and endochondral ossification are the types of bone development that occur during fetal development. Intramembranous ossification is the formation of flat bones (i.e, cranial bones). The first stage of this type of ossification is the formation of an ossification center in the fibrous connective tissue membrane. The ossification center is formed by mesenchymal cells differentiating into osteoblasts. The osteoblasts then secrete osteoid into the fibrous membrane and is subsequently mineralized. As the osteoid accumulates, it is laid down between fetal blood vessels, forming woven bone. The vascularized osteoid then condenses and forms the periosteum. The final stage of intramembranous ossifcation is the formation of the the bone collar in compact bone and the formation of red ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This interest was what pushed me to start learning German when I was eleven years old. With every year and every German class we learned about sentence structure, verb conjugation, and most importantly, I was introduced to German authors. But, in all of my years of learning German and reading different works, I was never introduced to any German authors that were female. This, in part with my passion for learning new things about Germany, is what fueled me to write this research paper on Christa Wolf. In this paper, I hope to provide a background on Christa Wolf s life, take a deeper look at some of her most important and influential works, and take a look at some of the controversy revolving around Wolf. Born Christa Ihlenfeld on March 18th 1929 in a town by the name of Landsberg an der Warthe (what is today the town of GorzГіw Wielkopolski, Poland), Christa s father owned a grocery store with some help from Christa s mother, which provided Christa and her younger brother with a comfortable and carefree childhood. 1 Gorzow wielkopolski is located approximately twenty five miles from Germany s eastern border. Cars have been an essential part of living for some time now. Globalization along with the growing market caused competition among manufacturers, and so manufacturers had to find ways to appeal to the new competitive consumer market. Automotive advertising started to take a new form and targeted peoples particular interests, emotions, and desires instead of being strictly informative or utilitarian. I value integrity over all other values and beliefs. To me, integrity is the root or base upon which our character is built. Without integrity, our foundation has no substance and our other values are without merit. Another set of values that is important to me is competence and knowledge. The ability to accomplish a task to the best of my capabilities is fundamental to my sense of perfectionism. While, no one is perfect , may be true, I believe it is important to strive toward that goal. If we set our standards at less than 100%, we will achieve less than 100%. Second, knowledge is a critical component in achieving competence. I believe learning should be a life long objective. The information and skills that come from learning add to your experience and provide you with the means to achieve your goals. These three values, integrity, competence, and knowledge form the basis of my belief system. Strongest Attribute My strongest attribute is my resolve for quality and ... • 54. The House of Mirth Essay The House of Mirth Lily and Selden are on a walk together, Lily having broken her second planned meeting with Percy Gryce in order to see Selden. The excuse she gave Gryce was that she had a headache that first prevented her from going to church and second from going on a walk with him. She instead convinces him to join the other guests and go to the Van Osburgh home in Peekskill. Selden tells Lily that he views everything she does as having been premeditated. She disagrees, saying she is impulsive, but Selden argues that her genius is being able to convert impulse into intentions. They discuss the freedom that Selden enjoys, and he admits that he is able to be amphibious and live in both the wealthy elite society as well as the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Is it a celibate order? (74). Selden s republic of the spirit serves as his protective and exclusive society. It allows him to find fault with everyone in order to exclude them, and is one of the reasons he will not marry. Lily tells him, It is a close corporation, and you create arbitrary objections in order to keep people out (75). In this sense Selden is the ideal man to be the observer in the novel since his perceptions will not be corrupted by Lily s influence. Another feature that Selden brings into the novel is that of being amphibious, that is, being able to live with the elite and also with the working classes. I have tried to remain amphibious. Selden is in fact the only man who works in the novel, and his ability to live in both worlds is symbolic of the role of the bachelor in the society. As Lily pointed out earlier, she would never be allowed the pleasure of living alone and still maintaining her societal position. Once again the intimacy of the cigarette is shared with Selden, but now the cigarette is used to show casual friendship rather than sexual desire or marriage intrigue. This cigarette puts the final rejection on Mr. Gryce, for not only is Lily avoiding a walk with him, but she is also committing what he considers to be a vice. Book I, Chapter 7 Mrs. Trenor admonishes Lily for spending time with Selden. It turns out that Mrs. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

According to Bell (2012), the most probable outcomes of in group favoritism in jobs is the hiring, promoting, and rewarding of members of the particular group by peers belonging to the same group. The exclusion of the members of the out groups, the minority out group members are sidelined while the members of the dominant group will be favored. In most cases, the members of non dominant out groups are minorities and women, social categorization often work hostile to them by negatively affecting their opportunities for jobs, promotion, attaining high status job positions among other advantages that are open to men as well as for the Whites (Podsiadlowski et al., 2013). Non whites and women mostly have insignificant power in the organization thus any favor they may get is less probable to disadvantage the members of in groups. The existence of in group bias where people will likely select demographically similar individuals is a clear presentation of favoritism, which can be damaging for any organization. The behaviors of the members of these two groups are often judged differently. For instance, a white who shows of being in charge is seen positively while a black which shows the same is seen as oppressive (Bell, 2012). With in group favoritism, the minorities and women are at high risk of facing extreme discrimination in organizations, which could hamper their opportunity to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
