concentration of hydrogen peroxide on catalase and variation in temperature of
catalase to find the optimal values that will produce the highest rate of products. It
was hypothesized that as the concentration of substrates increases, the reaction rate
will as well. The null hypothesis for this is that the substrate concentration will have
no effect on the reaction rate. For the varying temperature of catalase, it was
hypothesized that as the temperature increases, the reaction rate will increase as well
until the enzyme is denatured. The null hypothesis for this is that varying temperature
will have no effect on the reaction rate. The experiment was completed by using a
10mL graduated cylinder filled with water that collected oxygen gas that was
produced by the reaction. From this experiment, one can see that as the amount of

for 0.0% hydrogen peroxide and raises to 38.17 mL O2/min for 0.8% hydrogen

In the world of literature and poetry, it s typically not hard to find something
written about a hero, or something heroic, like an epic. Epics are long poems,
typically told orally in ancient times, about the adventures of a hero or heroine and
their deeds. The Iliad should immediately come to the mind of any student
proficient in western literature. Nonetheless, the themes and archetypes of these
works known as epics are so well known, that they are even parodied, take
completely out of context, and pasted on the wall for laughs. One of the most
recognized parodies of this kind would be Alexander Pope s The Rape of the Lock.
The Rape of the Lock is a story about taking a minor incident and satirizing it by
making it into a huge and important epic of divine proportions. One might think of
the phrase a tempest in a teapot , which perfectly describes this poem. In the poem,
the main character, a girl named Belinda, has her hairunwillingly cut by a baron, and
the struggle to regain her lost hair even pulls in mythical creatures like sylphs to

The prevalence of eating disorders among American women has increased
dramatically in the past decade. In turn, the psychological community has expanded it
s scope of research and study by focusing more attention on eating disorders and
concentrating on other extended issues related to eating disorders. The desire to
distinguish and understand a possible relationship between bulimia nervosa and
depression has become a major focus within the field. The purpose of this paper is to
introduce the reader to literature from two different journal articles on this
relationship.
How Are Bulimia and Depression Possibly Related?:
Presently, there are two predominant hypotheses on the relationship between bulimia
Cognitions manifested by bulimics include dysfunctional attributions regarding
weight gain, guilt, and self deprecating attributions centered on feeling out of control.
Schlesier, et al. (1987) state that depression:
...carries characteristic cognitive features of clinical import. Maladaptive thinking
patterns related to depressive symptomatology include negative automatic thoughts,
dysfunctional attitudes, and causal attributions.
Therefore, there are connections between these two disorders. There is a link in the
relationship between bulimia and depression. Understanding this link is essential for

Lisa Hinz and Donald Williamson (1987) reflect on the evidence presented in past
studies relating bulimia and depression and discriminate between the idea that
bulimia is an affective variant of depression or a separate diagnostic entity often

point out the complications that arise in an evaluation of studies that deal with
depression and other illnesses due to the common associations made between the two.

Mail and the Daily Star. I chose these newspapers as one is a redtop and one a
blacktop. The Daily Mail is a blacktop, these are generally aimed at the higher
classes as they contain more challenging language, and are for perhaps more

designer to one of the most recognised faces on TV , even though she seemed
destined to be C List . On this article, practically the entire page is taken up by
images of Barker compared to relatively little writing. The pictures show all of her
recent projects through which she has gained large sums of money. There are 10
images in total, each showing how much money she received from them, these
could be shown to emphasise just how many features Barker has appeared in and
how much she has gained from them. The article also grabs the readers attention, as
there are so many pictures. This could also put more of an emphasis on her looks,
she is quite good looking and this may attract more readers.
The article on Barker is largely covered with images of her various projects. There
are no shots in which she comes across badly and she is posing in all of them.
There are no pictures of her outside her advertisements in her normal everyday life.
This could suggest that advertising is her life, and she does nothing but try and make

The Poverty Cycle
According to Britannica School, Poverty is the state of a person who lacks a
socially acceptable amount of money or material possession. Socially acceptable
may be described as lacking the means to satisfy one s basic needs. An average
working citizen may not realize what poverty is really like. As stated in a Youtube
interview by Scott Pelley, actually going into povertyand living it will open your
eyes to an America that you didn t know existed. Additionally, it is often seen that
poverty is a cycle. It passes over the generations because of the difficulties it takes to
break free from it. Poverty can be a cycle that passes from generation to generation,
but through two generation programs and education, it can be overcome. Often times,

approach is and its tactics. The two generation approach is an arrangement that
helps break the cycle by offering programs that focus on the development of

study of these two generation programs is explained. It is shown that the programs
work when you re engage parents in education and work, nurture parent child
bonds, improve children s well being, and connect families with economic, social,
and other supports. In the situations where these tactics were used, the results were

is focusing on the family as a whole, and how everyone in the family can be helped.
In another article, Can Poverty Be Passed Down?, a specific program is described.
This program, called Economic Mobility Pathways (EMPath) works with parents
and children to develop executive functioning skills. These are the skills that help
you maintain a stable economic state. EMPath helps parents and children navigate
their way out of poverty. They equip both generations to do better in schools and get
better jobs. One of the techniques the program uses is setting goals with the whole
family after talking about their challenges. When goals are reached, rewards and
incentives are given. The ultimate goal is to teach economic mobility. As a result,
most parents in the six month program took steps to become more self sufficient, and
the children achieved goals like better grades and saving money (Johnston2 6). If
more of these programs were spread throughout the country, poverty could majorly be

The third category is Sensory Based Motor Disorder. According to Kranowitz,
postural Disorders involve problems with movement patterns, balance, and bilateral
coordination, and is often coexists with SMD SUR and SDD (p 18). The other half
is of SBMD is Dyspraxia. They struggle with components of praxis and gross and
fine motor planning. With praxis, they have difficulty thinking of new, complex
actions, sequencing of steps and coordinating the body s movements to do it; they
appear awkward, careless, and clumsy (Kranowitz, p 20). They have problems with
