The Chicano Movement By Frank Romero
Throughout history, art has helped in different mediums to bring awareness to different issues and
constructive messages to society. The Chicano movement started in the 1960s; the public wanted
to repair social injustice. The Chicano movement encompassed a broad section of issues; from
restoration of lands, to farm workers rights, to enhance education, to voting and political rights. At
this moment many individuals were trying different ways to express their views and one of those
ways was art. In the early years of the Chicanomovement, Frank Romero established a reputation as
one of the Chicano art heroes. Through murals Frank Romero expressed his thoughts and embodied
a Chicano identity. His murals would not only connect with Mexicans, but with everyone. In his
painting or art Romero would usually show everyday events in different views, opening the eyes of
the viewer. Romero s art would come out strong. Although Romero gained his fame with his murals,
he is amazing in drawing, painting, ceramics, and sculptures. He is not just a remarkable Chicano
artist, but an astonishing artist around the world.
Frank Romero was born in 1941 in Los Angeles, California. He was raised in a culturally mixed,
middle class community and was well into his career when he identified himself as a Latino artist.
During the height of the Chicano movement in the early 1970s, he and other artists founded a
group named Los Four. The group originally consisted of Roberto de la Rocha, Gilbert

Paper on Patents
PATENT THE AUTOCRAT
The very utterance of the word patent frightens us with the sheer complexity and wordplay it can
subsume us with. Here is an attempt to demystify patents and the world of legal wrangling. As the
lexicon definition goes, it is the exclusive right granted by a government to an inventor to
manufacture, or sell an invention for a certain number of years . However, over the years, as
patents and workarounds have evolved, companies have gone out of their ways to exercise
monopoly over innovation and prevent competition from innovating in a related area of research
and development.
In the US, the International Trade Commission is the disinterested body which oversees trade and
takes a final call over unfair trade practices. All patents have to go through a process of
prosecution before being approved and pursued in a commercial setting. Patents are also governed
by the purview of jurisdiction. In such a scenario, what may apply in The United States of America
need not hold true in the United Kingdom.
With that being said, patents have changed to become entities which prevent other people from
doing . In other words, patents have regressed from being a mechanism to safeguard innovation to
an instrument to cartel against opposition. As far as patents in the world of computers go, there are
only hardware patents. There is no such thing as a software patent . Additional cause for concern is
the fact that the boundaries between software and hardware are

Solution Focus Brief Therapy is one of the theoretical methods used in the field of counseling. It
was founded by Steve de Shazer and co founded by Insoo Kim Berg. The SFBT approach is used
in schools and behavioral counseling today. The concepts of this theory has helped to implement
change in schools and institutional settings resulting in an improvement of behavior outcomes
worldwide. This literature review is designed to discuss the origin of SFBT and the elements
required for it to be effective. It s strong impact not only in the school system but in the world of
counseling and why it is preferred over some of the other theories, which contributed to SFBT

Trade Relations Between New Zealand And The Philippines Essay
Abstract This paper is a discussion of the trade relations between New Zealand and the
Philippines. Its focus is on the trade profiles first and foremost of both New Zealand and the
Philippines to afford a bird s eye view of each country s individual trading capacity and capability.
Hopefully, the discussion shows the trading intensity between New Zealand and the Philippines.
Trade barriers are discussed briefly in order to depict some of the hindrances that are currently faced
by both parties. The paper also has discussions on New Zealand and the Philippines trade potentials
and opportunities to showcase both countries trade possibilities under certain situations.
IntroductionNew Zealand, a country with a population of more or less four million five hundred
thousand and the Philippines, a country with a population of almost a hundred million are
operating on a more or less equal Gross Domestic Product. Obviously there is a disparity in terms of
per capita income between the two countries. The reason why I have cited the above information is
because I wanted to emphasize the country wide impact of trade for these two trading partner
country. Yes, I know that neither country has anything to do with each other s population but the
fact still remains that the gigantic difference in population affects current and future trading
between these two trading partner. New Zealand and the Philippines are mainly agriculture based
economy countries, although

Anger In The Angry Young Men
Anger is an innate feature and feeling that is present in all human beings. It is a feeling the leads
man to feel that he is not restricted and free. It gives one the motivation to face everything and
create his own predestination ( Grasso1).Vincent K. Bissonette believes that anger is a respond to
the injury and unfairness that the mind receives towards something (126). Aristotle declares that
anger is a motivation that accompanied by pain. It leads to the idea of trying to make the other
suffer through taking revenge from him without any reason (20). Carol Tavris asserts that anger,
from an evolutionary view, is an essential and fundamental response to existence (46). It is also the

The plot is absent, which strengthen the idea of routine in human s life. The dialogue is often

absurdity of the human condition (Esslin 20). The absurdist do not deal with the conditions of

The Importance Of Lowering The Voting Age
For the age to be maitaned or lowered is really a tricky question knowing most of the people in
the United states can t vote because of felonys. But I think they should lower the voting age.
Having younger voters is crucial at times but it will lower the voter turnout. Most of the 16 and 17
year olds have felonys because of something they did and that eliminates them from vosting until
the age of 18. Most contries have lowered there votingage and turned out great. Knowing that

Ad Analysis Essay 11
Ad Analysis
To commit ourselves to evaluating the old vs. new we have to first find examples of the two. What
I chose to compare and contrast are ads that focus on capturing a particular audience, that audience
would be the athletes on the hardwood. Pony has long been in the running for shoe corporations and
has, as long as I can remember, made a decent focus on comfort ability and style amongst the ball
players. Just Do It has never failed to get in the minds of every and anyone willing to lay on the
line their sweat and grit in order to better their abilities in their particular sport or life. The
products inspire those to just do what they need in order to get where they want to go. Nike can
easily claim itself the top producer of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Its quick in its delivery but effective enough to persuade the eye to look at the shoe. There are
colors that match the uniform worn by the player with the personalized shoe. In this instance
Jason Richardson, who plays for the Charlotte Bobcats, is the culprit that makes his mark on the
feet of those who will purchase the shoe. The ad itself doesn t play on any specific meaning.
There is a picture of the shoe with Jason Richardson around the life size shoes and words in color
that read, Can You Dig It. The shoe itself is quite unique in design, it s a new shoe that appears to
be rather comfortable and trendsetting in one. The ad doesn t use gimmicks to push its products,
again that goes back to the reputation Nike has, it simply displays its shoe and you either like it or
you don t. Not as persuasive as previous advertisements Nike has made the public accustomed to.
In my theology of the comparisons, I found that Nike has forever been and will continue to be
the bar at which everyone will strive for. They push the limits of interests in people and find
ways to appeal to the ever changing generations. The ad although rather plain in appearance is
still new and does exactly what it needed to in order to showcase the product based off of what
Nike has done in the past and what they plan doing in the near future. Pony, in my opinion, is the
victor here. They have a solid punch line in what they were trying to stress. They emphasized

High School Football Importance
Over and over again we hear that children should be involved in extracurricular activities.
Children are told to get out there, see what you like, find your passion, and to be involved. While
some like to join academic clubs to further enhance their learning in a subject, others find that
athletic activities are more valuable to their lives. By children being able to play a sport, such as
football, they are able to get involved, find a passion, make long lasting friendships, and learn
valuable life lessons. The value of high schoolfootball can be seen by looking at the priceless life
lessons, the enjoyment of the sport, and the achievements made by these student athletes. When
thinking of lessons, many people s minds wander to the classroom.

Amelia s Work Group Analysis
After completing the quizzes I seen there were more to being a member of a team than just
showing up, doing your part, and interacting with others. There is listening to everyone s opinion
and valuing them before making a sound decision. Yes, I do that, but does everyone? I do not
think so always and this could hurt many people s feelings. I see from the quizzes I am not a
bias person and take everything people say into consideration before I make my last vote. These
exercises have made me think about work, work groups, and how they affect others. The boards
standard systems in this situation is Amelia s company reviewed her information and approved it.
Later they approved it to be sent on for further improvements from other companies to make
changes for the better. During the next stage, the company had to let other board members review
the information and decide if it was good enough. This is where Amelia s work was put up against
others and the best information was selected out of the group.... Show more content on

They all three have some type of power over something and use it to their advantage. However, I
feel they could have been more assertive and persuaded things to go their way a little more than
they actually did. Amelia Lassiter was the chief information officer and had all the pull behind
her from Waite Pharmaceuticals. She had the potential to make a huge breakthrough for her
company as well as many more in the future. James Hsu was the president of his company and
had the power to make decisions, but the problem here is Lucy Lee is family with the owner and

Relationship Between The Church And The State
The relationship between the Church and the State is a controversial topic that sparks great
political discourse. Since the period of the Great Reformation in Europe to the contemporary
religious and political establishments, suspicion and dishonesty continue to define the relationship
between the Church and political leadership in the society. On one hand, the Church maintains its
moral duty: to oppose and stand against any form of excessive use of political power, to cause
suffering and create inequality in the society. On the other hand, the State accuses the Church of
moral high headedness and accuses it of using its position and influence in the society to breed
disloyalty in the masses towards their political leaders. These scenarios... Show more content on

In fact, the priests seem to suggest that it is better to suffer and die quietly than to be caught up in
a feud with the King, I fear for the Archbishop, I fear for the Church (Eliot 17). Indeed, the return of
Archbishop Thomas Becket signifies the resurrection of political upheaval and enmity between
these two sides of leadership, and the priests become apprehensive of Beckets return (Cedars).
The play is evident of central themes that reveal the political thinking of T.S. Eliot. The play
seamlessly connects the past with the present revealing the religious act of ritual worship and
prayer. Further, the play is the story of one man s struggle through life confronting personal pride
and self will towards spiritual purity. Indeed, Eliot uses a systematic display of three entities to
demonstrate the intricacies of the present discourse. Further, these themes are a reflection of Eliot s
political thinking. First, in the first part of the play, Eliot reveals the spiritual struggles and internal
forces confronting Thomas Becket and how he overcomes these forces as seen in the Christmas
Day sermon (Butcher). Secondly, the murder of the archbishop takes place in the second part of
the play and Eliot shows its meaning and effects on the folks of Canterbury (Butcher). Lastly, the
end of the play shows the knights and the audience and the political justifications of Archbishop s
murder or death.

Semiotic Deconstruction Analysis Of Calvin Klein Jeans
Calvin Klein is an American multinational fashion company founded in 1968. Since their inception,
they have always been known as a top end designer brand, branching out to related clothing
markets. Calvin Klein is notorious with creating brands within their chosen product. For example
Calvin Klein Jeans and Calvin Klein Underwear s are brands in themselves. However they have
also branched out into other related markets providing products such fragrances, sportswear,

However prior to this it is important to discuss the fact that we are now living in an era of an
attention economy. In today s age, consumers are overwhelmed by the paradox of choice so many
choices to make, and no easy way to distinguish among the offerings (Davenport, Harris 2009).
Furthermore, since consumers are bombarded with advert offering its important to avail of
whatever attention a brand gets. Thus an attention economy is an approach of management that
treat human attention as scare resources and applies an economic theory to make use of that
attention; hence the ability of the brand to channel attention creates great value. A semiotic
description is consequently a vital means by which we might begin to understand how an image
captivates our imaginations. The founder of modern linguistics, Ferdinand de Saussure, argued that
at one point in time language would be part of a comprehensive science of signs, which would
study the production of meaning (Culler, 2001). In other words, the appeal of images comes
through the stories or meanings that are being depicted, which eventually leads to an emotion or
experience being felt by people in an attention economy. To greater understand a semiotic analysis
I will now provide an in depth look into my Calvin Klein watch advert. To display the theory
behind my advert I will be exploring the use of denotations, connotations found in my advert. As

Puritans Ethics And The Pinto Disaster
It is important to note, however, that Puritans ethics have been the catalyst that accelerated the
growth of capitalism (Weber 107). At the same time, Puritans ethics initiated a formal and
instrumental approach to life (115). In the case of the Pinto Disaster, Weber would claim that
Ford s decision to settle in lawsuits, instead of installing the safety gadget, is a mathematical

Macbeth is slain as a tyrant and Lady Macbeth takes her own life. Shakespeare does not give either
character the opportunity to enjoy what they had achieved, suggesting that it is more satisfying to
achieve your goals fairly than to achieve them through corruption. Ridley Scott powerfully focuses
on the negative consequences of ambition in Gladiator and how it can lead to one s downfall.
Using a similar storyline to Shakespeare s Macbeth he uses similar character structures but also
giving them many differences. Commodus ambition begins after he kills his father Emperor
Marcus Aurelius because he feels that his father did not love him enough and becomes the
Emperor of Rome. Marcus says that Commodus is not a moral man and that he cannot rule .
Commodus is the Macbeth character in Gladiator but is still not the main character. The main
character in the film is Maximus who resembles Macduff in the film. While still being shown as
a great fighter, Commodus is also shown in the film as a bit of a coward, after Maximus wins
the war for Rome, Commodus shows up late to the victory celebrations acting as if he wasn t

becomes disliked by the Senate and the people of Rome and seen as a pathetic leader. Commodus
uses the ambition to be like his father to create barbaric fights in the Coliseum. He ll bring them

Structure in A Woman s Beauty by Susan Sontag
In Sontag s A Woman s Beauty the structure the author uses for the story has a dramatic impact on
the readers. In the story, Sontag structures the essay base on many historical events and other
religious ideas to support her idea, how a woman sometime is only judge by her appearance.
Specifically, Sontag uses three ideas in the story to support her argument. First is in history what the
Greeksbelieve in a womans beauty. Second, Sontag discuss about how the Christian religionplays a
major role in shaping how a woman is judge only base on her beauty. In the end, Sontag talks
about in today s society how woman are still judge by her beauty. However, in the end Sontag
mentions how the society should stop judging a woman only base on her beauty. In the
beginning, Sontag structures the history on what the Greeks believe about a woman s beauty.
Base on what Sontag describes, the Greeks believe if a woman is beautiful in the outside, she
must be really beautiful in the inside as well, in this quote If it did occur to the Greeks to
distinguish between a person s inside and outside, they still expected that inner beauty would be
matched by beauty of the other kind. (Sontag 15) in this quote Sontag talks about how the Greeks
believe if a woman is pretty in the outside, she must be a good person inside. Moreover, after the
discussion about what the Greeks believe in history, Sontag compares that idea to today s society.

I have several predictions for how things could end up after the events of this passage.
I predict that after Richard s granny falls down the stairs, she will get a really bad injury, like a

injuries. Then she will have to go to the hospital due to the extent of her injuries. Meanwhile, the
rest of Richard s family would find out about what happened to Granny and how bad her injuries
are, leading to the whole family shuning Richard (Including his mother and Aunt Addie). After

The New Jersey Bear Hunt
When you think of the word bear what comes to mind? Some people may possible think of Yogi
the bear or Smoky the bear. However, society sets up a positive connotation for bears though in
reality they are quite aggressive animals. Since this is a reality, New Jersey along with others states
set up huntingseasons. The New Jerseybearhunt is in two different segments, A and B. Segment A
is held within October fifth to the tenth and segment B is December fifth to the tenth. In 2015
there were 472 bears killed within segment A while, 38 were killed in segment B. The bear hunt in
New Jersey is largely located in the northern counties. Bear hunting is a necessity in order to
prevent the overpopulation of the species.
Bear hunting is an extremely dangerous activity for one to partake in. There are many
precautions one must take in order to successfully kill a bear. Although bears are typically calm
creatures they can become extremely aggressive and dangerous if threatened. Therefore, one
must be aware of their surroundings at all times and ready for any encounter. Normally bears are
baited using some kind of container cut open with fruit and other strong smelling foods to draw
the bears in. Though dangerous bear hunting does also provide a considerable amount of food for
a family. Those you hunt typically do so in order to obtain the meat from the animal. A typical

because they wanted to give me a chance to attain a higher status. When we first arrived my
mother did not work, and my father s first job was at a Asian supermarket. The pay was low and
there was no coverage of any kind. We lived at my Aunt s house until we managed to find public

Life, Liberty, And The Pursuit Of The American Dream
According to historians, the American Dream can be expressed in a plethora of different ways
throughout history. Starting with the Puritans arriving in North America looking for religious
freedom, we now have the current man wanting to strike it rich. We all have our own perspective
on what we believe the current deposition has become. Have our values changed? Certainly! I
believe we have values now which are unnecessary compared to our ancestor s dreams. They
wish for things we take for granted in today s world: religious freedom, freedom of speech,
liberty. The Declaration of Independence lists, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness . This
shows our forefathers were already considering our actions. If they believe we can reach this goal,
we should be able to. Everyone has an equal opportunity to start the process towards their goals in

Many people only focus on reaching their own goals. We need to come together as a whole and
help everyone reach theirs as well. Our success is only reflected from the work effort we put
forth. America has already set forth many rights in order to guide us along the way. All we need
to do after this is be willing to sacrifice our time and many things we love. This sounds like a
large price to pay but it will pay off in the long run. The pride Americans have in their country is
great, but their ambition to find their own pride in themselves is lacking. We need to find the
pride in ourselves in order to think we will achieve the American Dream. If we believe we are
going to achieve our dream then we will achieve them. For centuries, many people have ran to
America to escape from strict leaders, war, and no religious freedom. Some people take advantage
of others and try to take their wealth instead of earning it on their own. Some work hard to get

Assessment 1: Event Analysis
Reserve Grade, Local Australian Rules Football Match in the Eastern Football League
Blackburn Football Club v Balwyn Football Club
5/4/2014
Introduction
Australians are renowned for their passion for sport, in particular, the four main football codes
(Australian Rules football, Rugby League, Rugby Union and Soccer). In terms of the participation
rate among these four codes, Australian Rules Football ranks second behind outdoor soccer, with
419 000 individuals or 2.6 % of the population participating in the sport. (Australian Bureau of
Statistics 2009)
The majority of the individuals who participate in Australian rules football, participate at the local
level, as Australia adopts a community club based system for all sports. This ensures that
everyone that has a desire to partake is very much able to at a local level which includes clubs like
the Blackburn and Balwyn Football Clubs. (Shilbury, Deane, Kellett 2006, p. 19)
Thus, the purpose of this report is to analyse different aspects and contributions to a local game of
Australian Rule Football, to determine areas of praise and improvement.

What is The Meaning of Free Will in Life Essay
Free will is the idea in which individuals can have the power of acting without the constraint of
necessity or fate, and this idea of free will served as a prevalent theme in Kurt Vonnegut s
Slaughterhouse Five. Vonnegut illustrates the absurdity of no free will in Pilgrim s world through
the book s nonlinear structure and unorganized plot. The novel is constructed as a series of
inconsistent flashbacks and future incidents through the eyes of the protagonist, Billy Pilgrim. Billy
Pilgrim is able to time travel to the past and future, but without any control over his peculiar ability.
He can constantly travels through any moment in time without controlling it. Instead of free will
existing, the notion of predestination and fate controlled... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Vonnegut states, Billy has gone to sleep a senile widower and awakened on his wedding day. He
has walked through a door in 1955, and come out another one in 1941. He has gone back through
that door to find himself in 1963. He has seen his birth and death many times, he says, and pays
random visits to all the events in between (23). Pilgrim is able to visit and revisit different
periods of time constantly without any influence or choice of his doing in the matter. Because
Pilgrim is able to see into the past and future, he cultivates unsympathetic feelings and is
indifferent, which shows that Pilgrim loses a sense of value of himself. He lacks passion in his
life as he does not truly appreciate everything and everyone he has. Having no free will would
persuade individuals to hold no motivation or determination in their lives because it would not
matter in a fate controlled world. Moreover, predestination and fate would take the place of free
will if it did not exist in the world. Believing that one s life is already decided for and planned
entirely would defeat the purpose of life as people would not be able to experience life due to
the choices they make and want. Knowing that an individual is destined to follow a particular
path in life without any chance to avoid or change it will change the person s outlook on life. In
the novel, Pilgrim married Valencia Merble even though he didn t love her and thought she was as

Global Warming Blown Out of Proportion Essay
Global Warming Blown Out of Proportion
The United States by no means should consider complying with the Kyoto Protocols. My
conviction in the negation towards passing this bill is that the whole Global Warming idea is
highly blown out of proportion by politicians and the mass media. Global warming, as it may exist
in the most gentle form, is the result of natural changes and could yield positive benefits. It is a

alternative power hungry plans.
The seriousness of the hidden agenda of environmentalists must be considered in the prevention of
the Kyoto intervening in our sovereignty. The Protocol it seems is not about global warming at
all. It s about advancing a political scheme of global government and punishing the US for its

Albert Bandura s studies concluded that environment causes behaviour but that behaviour causes
environment, too. He referred to this idea as reciprocal determination, believing that an individual s
actions and the actions of the world around him are intertwined. As his work progressed, he further
stated that personality is an interaction of outside influences behaviour, and an individual s
psychological processes. Bandura s early research work focused primarily on observational learning
which is simply learning from observing the actions of others. He believed that once someone had
witnessed another s behaviour, they may be inclined to adopt this behaviour as their own,
ultimately building it into their personality profile. Parents who raise children in a caring,
supportive environment can certainly contribute to their children s abilities to develop good self
esteem, enabling the children to better deal with outside situations and influences that they are sure

Improve Your Singing Voice With Vocal Training
By Skyler Jett
Oct 17, 2009
Every human being is born with a gift, a talent that comes in various forms. It could be the gift of
the written word. It could be the gift of leadership. It could be the gift of the performing arts.
Whatever your gift is, that talent is nothing if it is not perfected. A gift is fully appreciated only if
it is utilized.
Let us focus on the gift of music, particularly the vocals. We often conclude that they, the vocalists,
are born to sing. We are mistaken. Singers need vocal training to reach that level of greatness, that
moment when their very voices touch its audience in the most dramatic way.
For example, we have all seen the arduous auditions for American Idol. The majority of these

stardom.
Discipline is the very best thing you can get from taking vocal training. Through vocal training,
you will be able to learn that music can give you the sense of fulfillment. The more efforts you
put forth into improving your singing, the more you ll get to appreciate your talent in singing.
Cigarettes and alcohol? These are just some of the temptation that can surely do harm to your

Minifying the elements
CSS, Images, and JS files are the core elements for the better performance. Minifying the CSS,

the website for the banners to be displayed on. The idea was not entirely new though. AT T was
one of the first companies to buy ads on Hotwired.
You see, internet is now one of those things that is taken for granted. It s hard to imagine a life
without it. But before the internet, when people wanted to get connected online they had to opt for
different measures. You could use a Bulletin Board System to stay connected locally unless the
system operator was connected to a network like Wildcat, or to stay connected on a nationwide
level, you had to use a paid service, like

Vladek Monologue
4.) Hello, this is Mala. I am sadly married to Vladek. I don t even know why I am still here. He
treats me horribly and doesn t give me respect. I only came back to him because I felt bad. I
mean, he s dying and such. I would like him to change for me. I would like some trust and
respect. I would appreciate if he could let me buy my person items when i buy groceries. He
makes me use my own money to buy personal items. He has so much money and is a very cheap
man. If he changes, I will stay with him. My biggest problem would have to be the trust. He won

should be by his side all of the time. I need some privacy too. I would like to go out to the... Show

If you are African American sitting with a bunch of Caucasian people, you will get judged. Racism
still hasn t changed from the 1930 s 1940 s. Today is not as bad as when the Holocaust was going
on. Back then, you got killed if you were a Jew. Today if you are mexican, African American,
Caucasian, etc. , you will not be murdered for being that certain race. Back then had it way worse.
Especially with survival. Many Jews had to hide or leave their families to survive. Today, if you
want to have a roof over your head and be able to feed your family, you have to work and survive.
The prices of every product known to man, has rapidly increased. In California, medium prices for
houses are $500,000. It wasn t so expensive back in the 1940 s. Our survival today isn t as extreme
as it was back in 1940. They had to fight for their lives so they wouldn t get killed. We have to fight
to have a roof over our heads and food for everyone. There were many refugees in 1940. They had
to leave Germany to be able to survive. Germany was killing all Jews, so the Jews had to become
refugees. Overall, these issues are still important today. Everyone needs to survive in this world.
There will always be that one racist person. There will always be a refugee

3 Metal Roofs
Overview of 3 Metal Roof Types For Residential Use
If your home needs a brand new roof, you may be researching all of the materials available to you
to narrow it down. While metal can be a popular choice, there are different kinds of metal materials
that have their own pros and cons. Understand the differences so that you can make an informed
decision.
Steel Roofing
A common metal material that is available to you is steel. This is because its popularity is often
due to its affordability, while also being a durable material that can withstand flying debris, high
winds, and frozen rain.
Steel roofs can benefit from having a zinc coating applied to them. It helps steel require less
maintenance over the years, since the coating will help the material ... Show more content on

It s cheaper than using copper, but will cost more than using steel. The biggest drawback with
aluminum is that the metal is soft, so it should be avoided in areas that have flying debris or high
winds that cause impact damage to a roof. The material does weigh much less than other metal
roofing materials, so it does tend to be installed faster and easier than copper or steel.
Aluminum will hold up well in climates that have a lot of rain, since the material will not corrode
like other types of metal roofing. You can purchase the material in shingles or sheets, which are
usually painted after they are installed to improve the overall aesthetics of the roofing material.
This will require additional maintenance over the years to give the material another coat of paint.
Copper Roofing
One of the most expensive metal roofing materials will be copper, but many homeowners go with
it because it s unique and beautiful in its appearance on a home. The material is also incredibly
durable with it being hard to damage, and it will not require any maintenance or cleaning after it is
installed. This makes it great for large homes that create difficulties when trying to access the roof.
A unique attribute of copper is how it is a heavy and thick roofing material, and its size won t
change when facing extreme heat in the summer. The material also changes color as it gets older
to a green blue hue, called the patina process, which is an aspect of it that many people like.

Psychology has had a plethora amount of psychologist that had an impact on the science from
Sigmond Freud, to Erik Erikson. These scientist have paved the pathway for psychology and
made it a very important science that has branched out to many occupations. Alfred Adler, in

Lysistrat A Political Satire Written By Aristophanes
Lysistrata was a political satire written by Aristophanes in early 400 B.C.E., and was performed in
Athens. The connection between Lysistrata and the society and culture surrounding it is deeply
significant. Due to the immense cultural pressure in this period, it s difficult to pinpoint a singular
theme that Aristophanes was trying to make a comment on. With the Peloponnesian War
continuing
to lead a seemingly endless reign of chaos over Greece and its citizens, these elements of fear and
despair became very relevant in the plays of the time, most notably being Aristophanes Lysistrata.
Within such satires, it became commonplace to see women being used as satirical devices to call
attention to the craziness that had consumed society. It also contributed to the idea of women
having a social or political power and, more importantly, having worth and a voice. Although it is
impossible to know exactly which social aspects Aristophanes was trying to comment on, through
historical documents and contexts, it is clear that statements were made condemning war through
the satirical use of subverting gender norms to reinforce the foolishness in society and fighting. The
fighting and devastation that influenced Aristophanes was the result of the Peloponnesian War. The
war had been reigning terror and sorrow from about 431 to 404 B.C.E. across the Greek nation (
The Peloponnesian War ). It was fought between Spartaand Athens, however, each of these cities

A NASA camera captured UFOs seemingly leaving the Earth s atmosphere. But the live feed was
terminated just after the objects appeared.
THREE UFOS ON CAMERA
The UFO event was recorded and uploaded to YouTube by user Mister Enigma, who gave his
video the sensational title, UFO Mysteries: UFOs, Angels Or Biological Creatures Seen Leaving
The Earth?
This video was allegedly recorded from NASA s live feed from the International Space Station
(ISS). Three objects are seen emerging slowly from the distance, coming from beyond the Earth, or
possibly from the Earth.
These three UFOs gradually move in a seemingly ascending flight path. Two of the objects
disappear from view. But NASA s video stream is interrupted while the third object is still in
frame. The feed cut to a warning screen that read, Please stand by. The High Definition Earth
Viewing experiment is either switching cameras, or we are experiencing a temporary loss of signal
with the International Space Station. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As Mister Enigma s UFO video highlights, some believe this video is evidence of extraterrestrial
life. And conspiracy theorists surmise that NASA intentionally cut the ISS feed to prevent any
additional viewers from observing authentic alien spacecraft.
Space is littered with satellites and all sorts of debris. The objects in the video don t display any
sort of fantastic flight capabilities or abnormal behavior that makes them any more likely to be
alien spaceships than ordinary satellites or space junk. And, as the warning message on the feed
explains, there are legitimate reasons for live stream to be interrupted.
But because the feed interruption coincided with the appearance of three anomalous objects, that s
all the proof required by some to demonstrate an attempt by NASA to hide UFOs from the

The Media And Its Effects On Society
These days, sexism in the media is one of the top issues confronting women in Canada. Female
political candidates often experience a toxic environment that can adversely affect their campaigns.
The constantly changing media scene regularly permits harmful remarks to exist without
responsibility. The under representation of women in mediais an all inclusive wonder. Despite the
fact that there have been improvements, women still fall behind men in numerical representation in
government. The sexual orientation depiction studies have recorded that the media have been

This is not to say that all information conveyed by the media is heterogeneous, as unreasonable

holds on as a worry among minority populations, as their voices are regularly oppressed and
disregarded inside standard media. Social movements, which can be approximately characterized as
cognizant aggregate endeavors to change some parts of the social request, are hard to depict with
accuracy. Major social movements contain inside themselves numerous subgroupings which may

Marxist women s activists, ecofeminists, lesbian separatists and the individuals who view
lesbianism as one way of life among others; in spite of the fact that these groupings debate about
various issues, they do concede to the fundamental need to enhance the circumstance of women.
The women s movement has been working for social equity for women along a wide range of
fronts, including legislative issues, culture, the mass media, law, instruction, wellbeing, the work
power, religion, nature and home. Consolidating the battle against sexism with a battle against
prejudice has turned out to be progressively imperative. The authoritative structure incorporates

Security Dilemmas In The Peloponnesian War By Thucydides
Besides this classic security dilemma Thucydides describes in Book I Section 23, he also presents
different variations of this realist theory.
In one of them, the Athenians found themselves in the unlikely position to gain a security bonus
could by capturing an external asset. At the eve of the Peloponnesian War, the Athenians stood
before the decision whether or not to take a side in the dispute between Corinth and Corcyra. The
Corcyraeans word the dilemma in the following terms:

At the same time the already cool relations between Moscow and Washington began to deteriorate
even further. Very quickly two blocks (or in ancient Greek terms ‚leagues ) would form, forcing
every state to make a decision: Either side with the capitalist, western NATO under the leadership
of the USA or the communist, eastern Warsaw Pact under the lead of the USSR. However this arms
race never turned into an actual conflict as both states rather fought proxy wars in Vietnam, Korea
or Angola.
This bi polar system appears to have ended in 1991, leaving the US economically weakened
USSR disintegrated. Ever since the end of the cold war, a multi polar balance of power has been
emerging, based on western Europe, China, Brazil and other new economic superpowers which
can partially offset the combined military and economic power of the USA. In the years to come

Seal Team Six Research Paper
The United States has constantly been developing and advancing their military branches,
strategies, and special forces. There are five branches of the military: Army, Navy, Marine Corps,
United States Coast Guard, and the Air Force. The first branch of the military to form was the
Army in June 1775. The Army formed after the American Revolutionary War. Its purpose was to
coordinate attacks on Great Britain s Military. The next branch of the military to form was the
United StatesNavy. The Navy was formed in October 1775. The Navy had been assigned missions
to ambush, prevent, and hinder British aquatic or naval operations. After the Navy came the United
States Marine Corps. The Marine Corps was a special tactical team that was able to fight at sea
and on shore. 15 years later came the United States coast guard. The United States Coast Guard
enforced maritime safety generally to enforce federal tariff and trade. The next branch didn t form
for many years later until 1947. The Air Force was created to defend the nation through the control

Rejection From Society In The Loons, By Margaret Laurence
Essay
Rejection from society, forces an individual to alter their identity in order to be accepted by the
people around them. Many First Nations are viewed as outsiders, bringing a lot of racism toward
them. In The Loons by Margaret Laurence, Piquette is a Metis girl who is isolated from society
and does not fit in with her surroundings. This leads to her rejecting her personal identity as First
Nations, trying to fit in with societal norm. Piquette begins to assimilate into the culture around her
and become things that she is not. However, she becomes soon becomes unsatisfied with her
artificial identity and depressed in life, blocking out everyone around her. Through The Loons,
Laurence demonstrates that when an individual is isolated from society, it becomes difficult for
them to integrate into the culture around them without changing themselves.
Initially, Piquette is viewed as an outsider by society when she accepts her personal identity as
Metis. When Piquette is invited by Ewen to his summer cabin, Vanessa falsely believes that
Piquette must be in some way a daughter of the forest, a kind of junior prophetess of the wilds,
who might impart to me. If I took the right approach, some of the secrets which she undoubtedly
knew where the whippoorwill made her nest, how the coyote reared her young, or whatever it
was that it said in Hiawatha (112). Piquette and many other First Nations have been stereotyped
and misinterpreted for so long that society labels them with certain traits. When Ewen proposes
that Piquette come to the family s summer cabin, it is immediately rejected by Vanessa s
grandmother saying if that half breed youngster comes along to Diamond Lake, I m not going
(110). The Metis are not accepted by the majority of society, making it difficult for them to feel
like they fit in and are appreciated throughout the community. This creates a divide between society
and the Metis and other First Nations groups. Vanessa s warped views and perspectives about First
Nations illustrate how the majority of society views Aboriginal people.
After being rejected for her Metis identity, Piquette is forced to change in order to be accepted by
the people around her. Four years later, Vanessa

The Argentine Process Of National Reorganization
The Argentine Process Of National Reorganization, more commonly known as the Dirty War, was
a period from roughly 1974 to 1983 when the president was deposed and the entire government was
taken control of by the military. This decade of civil destruction, turmoil, and human rights
violations was part of the military s plan to rid the country of the radical left and communist
subversion. The junta spoke of a New Argentina, one full of prosperity for all its citizens, order and
no longer chaos, they preached they would bring back Argentina s glory days. For all this talk of
an Argentina that would be once again a world power, no one knew of the atrocities the military
would commit in the process. They did not think of the innocent lives... Show more content on

This stance made him popular amongst conservatives as well. While he started his ten year term
with large support, the cracks slowly started to show as the years progressed. In the beginning, his
wife Evita helped grow his appeal as she became a cult figure and created woman s institutions like

started to arise in 1949. Inflation began to rise and unemployment grew. PerГіn tried to fix this by
creating new government jobs to make it look as if there was no problem. Many of his political
opponents were tortured, detained, or exiled. This also led to the signs of huge government
corruption. After being elected for another term in 1952, PerГіn tries to make his wife vice
president to which the military leaders said he was not allowed. Shortly after his reelection, Evita
dies of cancer. This along with the seemingly unfixable problem which was the economy,
assassination plots began to be muttered. Military rebellions began to break out around the country
and PerГіn had the police round up his opponents. Seeing the country in chaos, PerГіn resigns in
1955 and is exiled to Paraguay and then Spain. The military was in control again and proceeded to
ban the PerГіnist party. With PerГіn setting a precedent for mass protest in the country, the 20 years
before the beginning of the dirty war were a battle between military intervention and the

  • 4. Paper on Patents PATENT THE AUTOCRAT The very utterance of the word patent frightens us with the sheer complexity and wordplay it can subsume us with. Here is an attempt to demystify patents and the world of legal wrangling. As the lexicon definition goes, it is the exclusive right granted by a government to an inventor to manufacture, or sell an invention for a certain number of years . However, over the years, as patents and workarounds have evolved, companies have gone out of their ways to exercise monopoly over innovation and prevent competition from innovating in a related area of research and development. In the US, the International Trade Commission is the disinterested body which oversees trade and takes a final call over unfair trade practices. All patents have to go through a process of prosecution before being approved and pursued in a commercial setting. Patents are also governed by the purview of jurisdiction. In such a scenario, what may apply in The United States of America need not hold true in the United Kingdom. With that being said, patents have changed to become entities which prevent other people from doing . In other words, patents have regressed from being a mechanism to safeguard innovation to an instrument to cartel against opposition. As far as patents in the world of computers go, there are only hardware patents. There is no such thing as a software patent . Additional cause for concern is the fact that the boundaries between software and hardware are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Hopefully, the discussion shows the trading intensity between New Zealand and the Philippines. Trade barriers are discussed briefly in order to depict some of the hindrances that are currently faced by both parties. The paper also has discussions on New Zealand and the Philippines trade potentials and opportunities to showcase both countries trade possibilities under certain situations. • 10. Ad Analysis Essay 11 Ad Analysis To commit ourselves to evaluating the old vs. new we have to first find examples of the two. What I chose to compare and contrast are ads that focus on capturing a particular audience, that audience would be the athletes on the hardwood. Pony has long been in the running for shoe corporations and has, as long as I can remember, made a decent focus on comfort ability and style amongst the ball players. Just Do It has never failed to get in the minds of every and anyone willing to lay on the line their sweat and grit in order to better their abilities in their particular sport or life. Its quick in its delivery but effective enough to persuade the eye to look at the shoe. There are colors that match the uniform worn by the player with the personalized shoe. In this instance Jason Richardson, who plays for the Charlotte Bobcats, is the culprit that makes his mark on the feet of those who will purchase the shoe. The ad itself doesn t play on any specific meaning. There is a picture of the shoe with Jason Richardson around the life size shoes and words in color that read, Can You Dig It. The shoe itself is quite unique in design, it s a new shoe that appears to be rather comfortable and trendsetting in one. The ad doesn t use gimmicks to push its products, again that goes back to the reputation Nike has, it simply displays its shoe and you either like it or you don t. Not as persuasive as previous advertisements Nike has made the public accustomed to. In my theology of the comparisons, I found that Nike has forever been and will continue to be the bar at which everyone will strive for. They push the limits of interests in people and find ways to appeal to the ever changing generations. The ad although rather plain in appearance is still new and does exactly what it needed to in order to showcase the product based off of what Nike has done in the past and what they plan doing in the near future. Pony, in my opinion, is the victor here. They have a solid punch line in what they were trying to stress. They emphasized ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Children are told to get out there, see what you like, find your passion, and to be involved. By children being able to play a sport, such as football, they are able to get involved, find a passion, make long lasting friendships, and learn valuable life lessons. Since the period of the Great Reformation in Europe to the contemporary religious and political establishments, suspicion and dishonesty continue to define the relationship between the Church and political leadership in the society. On one hand, the Church maintains its moral duty: to oppose and stand against any form of excessive use of political power, to cause suffering and create inequality in the society. On the other hand, the State accuses the Church of moral high headedness and accuses it of using its position and influence in the society to breed disloyalty in the masses towards their political leaders. These scenarios... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In fact, the priests seem to suggest that it is better to suffer and die quietly than to be caught up in a feud with the King, I fear for the Archbishop, I fear for the Church (Eliot 17). Indeed, the return of Archbishop Thomas Becket signifies the resurrection of political upheaval and enmity between these two sides of leadership, and the priests become apprehensive of Beckets return (Cedars). The play is evident of central themes that reveal the political thinking of T.S. Eliot. The play seamlessly connects the past with the present revealing the religious act of ritual worship and prayer. Further, the play is the story of one man s struggle through life confronting personal pride and self will towards spiritual purity. Indeed, Eliot uses a systematic display of three entities to demonstrate the intricacies of the present discourse. Further, these themes are a reflection of Eliot s political thinking. First, in the first part of the play, Eliot reveals the spiritual struggles and internal forces confronting Thomas Becket and how he overcomes these forces as seen in the Christmas Day sermon (Butcher). Secondly, the murder of the archbishop takes place in the second part of the play and Eliot shows its meaning and effects on the folks of Canterbury (Butcher). Since their inception, they have always been known as a top end designer brand, branching out to related clothing markets. Calvin Klein is notorious with creating brands within their chosen product. For example Calvin Klein Jeans and Calvin Klein Underwear s are brands in themselves. However they have also branched out into other related markets providing products such fragrances, sportswear, watches and jewellery. However prior to this it is important to discuss the fact that we are now living in an era of an attention economy. In today s age, consumers are overwhelmed by the paradox of choice so many choices to make, and no easy way to distinguish among the offerings (Davenport, Harris 2009). Furthermore, since consumers are bombarded with advert offering its important to avail of whatever attention a brand gets. Thus an attention economy is an approach of management that treat human attention as scare resources and applies an economic theory to make use of that attention; hence the ability of the brand to channel attention creates great value. A semiotic description is consequently a vital means by which we might begin to understand how an image captivates our imaginations. The founder of modern linguistics, Ferdinand de Saussure, argued that at one point in time language would be part of a comprehensive science of signs, which would study the production of meaning (Culler, 2001). The connection between Lysistrata and the society and culture surrounding it is deeply significant. Due to the immense cultural pressure in this period, it s difficult to pinpoint a singular theme that Aristophanes was trying to make a comment on. It also contributed to the idea of women having a social or political power and, more importantly, having worth and a voice.
