A Interview At An Interview
Shortly after the submission of my application, I received an email inviting me to the interview that
would be conducted in company s office in London. Overall, in my opinion, I did my best in terms of
the preparation. I researched the company s history, read about its most popular products and
familiarized myself with the recent industry and company s news (Burke and Thurgood 2007). A week
prior to the interview date I attended an interview preparation session organized by the Careers Office
which, as noted by Spears (1979), was supposed to help me feel more comfortable during the actual
interview. As a result, I had, what Bandura (1982) would call a high level of self efficacy, meaning
that I hold an opinion that I would succeed in an interview.
Turning attention to the actual interview, it was conducted face to face on company s premises and my
interviewer was a middle aged white woman. From the first seconds of the interview she had an open
body language and she maintained a good eye contact. Armstrong (2012) indicates that such behaviour
helps to establish the good rapport with the applicant and it was certainly true in my case. It was a
structured employment interview as I was asked a set of prepared questions (Levashina et al. 2014)
that explored if I possessed skills and competencies required for the job position. As the interviewer
followed the script, it led to the consistency in information received, implying more accurate selection
decision (Garcia et al. 2008).

What Are The Main Functions And Objectives Of The Bank Of...
1. What are the main functions and objectives of the Bank of England?
The Bank of England is the central bank of the United Kingdom. As all the central banks, its main
goal is to guarantee financial and monetary stability. It also acts as a lender of last resort protecting
banks in case they fail.
A key point in having stability is through public confidence in money. One of their missions is to
protect the value of money over time, to assure that people and companies can invest their money with
confidence. To achieve this confidence level the Bank of England has to comply with the monetary
stability objectives.
Monetary stability also means price stability. Price stability refers to inflation. The government
inflation target is 2%. Monetary stability is achieved through the monetary policy, which consists of
the process in which the bank controls the money supply and the interest rate with the aim of getting a
set of objectives oriented ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What is the role of the FOMC?
The Federal Open Market Committee is one of the bodies inside the Federal Reserve. It is formed by
seven people from the Board of Governors and five presidents of the Reserve Banks. One of this, the
permanent one, is the president of the Bank of New York. The other four are presidents of the other
Banks and are elected for a one year period. Each of them is from a different group. The FOMC has
eight meetings per year.
The FOMC is responsible for the open market, while the Federal Reserve System supervises the
discount rate and the reserve requirements. These three are the tools of the monetary policy. The open
market operations are the most important tool used to regulate the money supply and the credit
available. The main objectives of the FOMC are: analyse the economic and financial conditions, carry
out the appropriate monetary policy which fits with the price stability and sustainable economic
growth, guarantee full employment and a sustainable pattern of payments and international

Cultural Heritage Protection During Armed Conflict
Introduction The destruction of cultural heritage during armed conflict has become the forefront issue
within the international discourse on its legal protection in the last several decades. Many scholars and
professionals have contributed to the development of international legal instruments concerning
cultural heritage protection. This thesis analyzes the existing international legal instruments to
demonstrate their practical application, or lack there of, in recent armed conflict situations vis à vis the
changing paradigm in the execution of war. The complexity of the issue of law and cultural heritage
protection during armed conflict is that it involves a variety of disciplines: anthropology, archeology,
architecture, conservation, law, international affairs, politics and philosophy among others. Therefore
when addressing the issue, all disciplines, as well as the many stakeholders involved, must be
considered and challenged. Nevertheless, this thesis focuses on a legal analysis of cultural heritage
protection during armed conflict to establish the importance that cultural heritage has on humanity at
large and to emphasize the role of the international community in its safeguarding. The conceptual
basis of this thesis is cultural heritage, therefore a critical analysis of the ideology associated with the
terms, culture and heritage, is fundamental to understanding their development throughout time and
within international legal instruments. The first chapter of this

Modern Medicine And Biotechnology Have Increased The...
Introduction
In the past couple of years, advancements in modern medicine and biotechnology have increased.
Biotechnology, quoted from the Business Dictionary, is the application of biology to produce
industrial enzymes, improved plants and animals, medicines, pesticides, etc., from living organisms or
their parts. Genetic engineering is a special application of biotechnology in which genetic (hereditary)
material of a plant or animal is modified (at the molecular level) to produce more desirable qualities.
These advancements have helped increase the lifespan of humans across the world. One example of a
form of biotechnology are muscle stimulators, which help keep muscles strong while broken bones
heal, because a human can t really use a muscle with a broken bone. Another example is a nerve
regenerator, which help produce cells that encourages nerve development.
Cloning is a form of biotechnology. The process of producing an organism that is genetically identical
is called cloning. Cloning is an asexual reproduction process. Cloning in biotechnology is manually
cloning an organism or molecular cloning of DNA fragments. There are three types of cloning in
biotechnology; reproductive cloning which are used to produce an exact copy of an existing organism,
DNA cloning which are used to produce copies of DNA fragments, and Therapeutic cloning, which is
used to for medical purposes.

Garcia Girls Lost Their Accent Essay
younger generation, and the old generation. Thus, due to the cultural differences, it is difficult for
Latina parents to raise their children the traditional way without adhering to some of the norms of
American culture.
Economic difficulties seem to be a widespread theme throughout the books this semester. Obviously, it
is difficult to get a well paying job in a new country without proper education or without being
proficient with the language. How the Garcia Girls Lost Their Accent highlights the trouble finding a
good job without the proper education: Papi had not been able to get an American doctor s license

Previously, I had not considered the numerous difficulties in the US Latina experience. I knew about
the racism and stereotyping these people have faced for years in the US. Thus, it came as no surprise
that the authors presented instances of explicit racism and stereotyping. Additionally, most of the
books take place in the 1950 s and 60 s which highlights the racism Latina s experienced during this
time period. However, the racism continues after 9/11 in Cepeda s memoir Bird of Paradise, which
shows that racist attitudes towards Latin American s have not dwindled over the years, but are still
prevalent in our society today. Knowing the racism Latina s continue to face today, I believe it can
become difficult for Latin American s to truly feel as if they belong in this country. For instance, the
study conducted by Parra Cardona, et al. asked both foreign born and U.S. born Latina parents
questions regarding family life, and experiences in America. Unsurprisingly, the research found that
both foreign born and U.S. born Latinas have experienced discrimination in America. One mother
recalls: I remember a lot of things from school... I was called a n i g g e r... I hated it... There was a
time in my life when I wanted to be White... Life would have been a lot easier (¶ 34). It is difficult to
truly relate to the racism

Blue Whale Persuasive Speech
The blue whale uses baleen in order to filter the speech. The blue wales are the largest vertebrate
animal. In a study that was reported on May 24 in Proceedings of the Royal Society B, Nicholas
Pyenson, the museum s curator of fossil marine mammals, and collaborators Graham Slater at the
University of Chicago and Jeremy Goldbogen at Stanford University, went back and found the
evolution of the size of whales in over thirty million years of history. They discovered that the huge
whales showed up along multiple branches in the family tree roughly two to three million years ago. A
reason for whales having those bigger body sizes is that by the increase of ice sheets located in
Northern Hemisphere, whales had to change the way they ontaimed food

Role Of Imperialism In Rwanda
At the end of World War I, Belgium accepted the League of Nations authorization to govern the
Ruanda Urundi territory. Which later became Rwanda and Burundi. Two separate territories. Prior to
Belgian rule, the African native people coexisted amongst each other and lived in peace under the
same religion and spoke the same language. That was until the Belgian caused division amongst the
people. They divided the people based on physical features. The Belgium announced that the Tutsis
were more superior due to their visible features which included those with longer pointier noses,
lighter skin, those who were taller, and had more elegance. The Hutus were the opposite. They were;
dark, short and strong. They weren t exactly sophisticated. Government ... Show more content on

Later that night, the massacre truly took place. The Hutus decided what the country needed was not
constant retaliations from the Tutsis, but an ethnic cleansing.Soldiers and militia sent messages
throughout the country via radio, to carry out a wave of killings. They vigorously slaughtered almost
an entire generation of Tutsis. Raped Tutsi women, and murdered the Tutsi children as they refuse to
allow next generation Tutsis to reborn. While innocent people were being executed by machetes and
guns, neither the Belgian soldiers, the British nor the UN interfered. When they realized the rebels
were getting out of control they evacuated all the foreigners out of the country and abandoned the
Africans. It wasn t until the very end, 100 days later after almost a million people were
manslaughtered, did the Belgian soldiers came and rescue certain Africans Tutsis and Hutus. In July
1994 the holocaust ended as the Tutsi rebels drove away the Hutu maniacs. In conclusion, the atrocity
that was the Rwandan genocide was caused by hatred. Insanity fed the so called ethnic cleansing. A
million bloody corpse covered the streets of Rwanda, during this time period. Families lost, children
left scared. This redundant annihilation would ve never occurred if the Belgians just left things as they

Populist Movement Dbq
I have answered all the questions; they are not in order. 1. In the early 19th century, farmers saw the
need to cooperate with government regulation. They started to believe the government could solve
their economic problems if they cooperated as part of the system. When once they were known as the
epitome of the American dream, independent, and self sufficient, they now submitted to government
regulation. This decision was made in the 1896 elections. As a result of this transition, many children
of farmers left and found work in the city. When generations past would have stayed on the farm their
whole lives, a new window of opportunity was opening up as the market expanded. 2. Although both
the rurals and urbans began to favor consumption ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Facets they desired to change were the railroad system and currency shortage. They believed the
railroad system was corrupt due to their fares. Some citizens were charged more than others, and the
way railroad companies charged for the transportation of goods were oftentimes fraudulent. As the
economy grew, the amount of currency circulating did not. This led to a shortage of money, which
eventually led to inflation. Through several acts, the Grange was able to cut down railroad costs by
enforcing stricter regulations, but they failed in providing a solution to the increasing

Analysis Of Alan Turing s Views On Morality
I way society reacted to Alan Turning being gay, made me think about morally. Is there a set morally
or does society have a different sense of morally in different places and time? Does morally change
over time or just are idea of morally? But also I think if Alan Turing didn t have such a passionate
relationship with Christopher that to some would not have been morally right would we have crack
enigma. There the idea of morally, what people were supposed to be Alan a heterosexual or Pat who
was to intelligent for her society as she said it was considered a waste of time to give a girl a good
education and if you showed a degree of intellectual ability, people seemed to regard you with a
degree of suspicion (pg. 47 48), Patricia is going ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Think of the people that kill and justify it with faith or love. Belief and emotions can change someone
ideas of morally and the big question is where is the line. When do we need to look at a problem like a
computer not a person. We sometimes need to turn off are fear and emotion and decide what is the
best way to save the most people. The problem is the train problem, if a train was going down a track
and you had to either flip the switch and kill one man or kill twenty most people would flip the switch.
But if you had the same case but instead of flipping the switch you had to push the man on the tracks
most could not do it. This is because we are emotional people, but we do have the practical and
analytical intelligence and can analyze I problem and see the math you lose one or twenty. But maybe
it would be I good things to turn off care for a second and push the man in front of the train because
wouldn t can save twenty men. This is why we are not computers, we have morally and emotions that
can we very helpful but sometimes hurtful. The train case one s care and lack of strength lead to
twenty deaths instead of one, so the question is can morally and emotional be a demerit. Would certain
times be better if we could think like computers, this an age old question and I believe no but, maybe
the other side has a point, the computer would have saved twenty men and killed

The Torah For Being The Judaism s Holy Book
Most know the Torah for being the Judaism s holy book, the first five books of the Bible, and the laws.
More advanced Jewish scholars may be familiar with the Talmud. But, few Jews learn the Kabbalah
teachings. Traditionally, adults of the age of forty would begin to start learning about the Kabbalah
and read from the Zohar (Slick). The Zohar from Hebrew directly translates to splendor or radiance.
The Zohar is one of the most important works of Kabbalah or Jewish mysticism. It is a mystical
commentary on the Torah, it was written in medieval Aramaic and medieval Hebrew. It discusses of
the nature of God, the origin and structure of the universe, the nature of souls, sin, redemption, good,
and evil. The Zohar is not one book, but a group ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This spark of curiosity drove me to uncover new things about Judaism that I had never encountered
before. This lead me straight the Kabbalah to learn about something not many people know about.
After preliminary online research, I started to realize that the Kabbalah had a somewhat negative
reputation, while in other write ups, the Kabbalah was perceived as unimportant. This got me thinking
as to how the Kabbalah got this skewed reputation and what it did, if anything to deserve it? Also, why
haven t I heard of this before if I ve been surrounded by Judaism for most of my life? Is the Kabbalah
some lost distant tradition? If so, why are there news stories of major celebrities like Madonna
practicing it? In my quest to quench my thirst my knowledge, I kept my focus on investigating: what
is the background and history of the Kabbalah that may have led it to become so misunderstood?
Criterion B: Plan for Study
I plan to first delve into the heart of the Kabbalah teachings to get a strong base and an understanding
of the subject. Highly credible Jewish websites will guide my initial research and help to slowly
emerge me into learning the teachings. Next I plan to focus on Jewish academic journals and scholarly
information. In particular, Professor Gershom Scholem, he is an expert and experienced writer on the
subject and is well respected by Jews and non Jews alike. My research journey will then take me to

Object Permanentism
The first stage is called the Sensorimotor stage. It occupies the first two years of a child s life, from
birth to 2 years old. It is called the Sensorimotor stage because in it children are occupied with sensing
things and moving them. From these activities they learn what makes things happen, what the
connections are between actions and their consequences. They learn to grasp and hold and what
happens when they let go.
This happens later on in the stage. When they are new born they have no concept of there being
anything else apart from themselves in the world. In fact they think that they are the world. Piaget
called this Egocentism; he said that children with this attitude were totally Egocentric. This does not
mean that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Like most things in life, acquisition of the concept of the external world is not as simple as that, but
this is no place in which to enquire after such questions. It is easier to ask what evidence there may be
that an individual has acquired the concept.
One piece of evidence is the child s apparent belief that objects exist when not perceived. This is
called belief in Object Permanence. If a cloth is placed over a toy for which an eight month old child
is reaching, the child will immediately lose interest in the toy, as if the toy had ceased to exist. This is
just what it has done for the child; as soon as anything passes from its experience that thing is no
more. However, only a couple of months later, the same child in a similar situation will actively search
for an object that has been hidden from its view. The older child has the concept of Object
Permanence; it believes that there is an object under the cloth even though it cannot see it, feel it, hear
it, taste it or smell it, and will make an effort to reach it if it so desires.
The child s problems are not over yet, though. It is not very agile in its thought; if a toy has been
hidden very often in one place,

Analysis Of Ketchum s The Fall And Winter Of 1776
Ketchum begins in the fall and winter of 1776 in describing the events of the campaign. At the time,
the future of the Revolution was in serious doubt men were freezing, starving, and the Continental
Army was dissolving around General Washington. More than anything else, he needed a victory.
Ketchum displays to the reader how exactly the colonials got into such a distressing situation in the
first place. Traveling back to 1774 and 1775 Ketchum explores the reason behind why and how the
entire situation occurred in the first place. The motivations of both the English crown and the colonials
are explored throughout the book. For example, the motivations of King George III are explored in the
section Everyone Who Does Not Agree With Me Is A Traitor . Ketchum describes the early life of
George III which would motivate his latest moves against the colonies. George III felt he had to
almost be more English than the English themselves , to paraphrase the honor of England and the
crown were his preeminent concerns. Ketchum also described the wide variety of ailments, mostly
hereditary ones, which plagued the king. Put these together and it s no surprise he was less than
willing to listen to the pleas of his colonial subjects. Ketchum also went into a good deal of detail as to
the workings and motivations of the British government at the time. Finally, he lists the events leading
up to the actual winter of 1776, the conditions on the ground and then goes over the actual

Topic: Conversion therapy
General Purpose: To persuade
Specific Purpose: I want the audience to avoid organizations that support the use of conversion
therapy and to understand the pseudoscientific and harmful nature of such a practice.
Thesis: Conversion therapy receives little support from the American psychiatric community due to a
lack of evidence confirming its supposed effectivity and the measurable damage it causes to the
individuals subjected to its outdated practices.
Action Step: I want the audience to avoid organizations that promote the use of conversion therapy to
alter a person s sexual orientation.
I. Introduction
a. For those of you who are straight, I want you to know that your feelings are signs of repressed
childhood traumas. Now, I want you all to put aside your heterosexual tendencies and let your true
same sex attractions take hold.
b. That was a simplified example of exercises used in conversion therapy, also known as reparative

Humboldt County, the members of the FPEA have not received a cost of living increase for several
years. In fact, our members have agreed to wage cuts each year by agreeing to pay increased medical
insurance costs. This year, we are again not asking the city for a COLA increase. However, we are
asking for a MOU which contains a small stipend. Currently, the city continues to reject our request by
stating that they cannot afford it. We simply cannot agree with their findings. Currently the city has
approximately 3.7 million in general fund reserves. We acknowledge that the cities general funds
reserves have decreased in recent years however; the stipend we are requesting is a very small
percentage of these reserves. Currently, our members are among the lowest paid law enforcement

The Changing Role Of Women In The United States
The Changing Role of Women: Identify the new ways that women were involved in society in the
United States. Be sure to include organizations that developed, meetings they held and actions they
took, and results of those actions.
As the century immediately following the American Revolution, the 19th century experienced a rise in
feminism as it harbored the first feminist movement in America. Although some women chose to
embrace their roots by retaining their domestic sphere of influence, many women began to show
discontent with the limited number of rights women held. Soon enough, the fight for women s rights
resulted in women gaining more prominence in society. In the early 19th century, women faced very
little options after ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some women, however, found their domestic sphere to be too confining. During this time, society
acted against women. Women weren t allowed to hold a political office, nor were they allowed to vote.
In addition, they were virtually submissive to their husbands because they couldn t do anything
without their husbands permission. Also, women didn t have as much freedom when it came to
choosing a profession (most ended up being teachers or writers). The legal status of women was
essentially that of a white child or black slave (Hippocampus). Many women began to notice what
little rights they had. Margaret Fuller, a transcendentalist and the editor of The Dial, wrote, in Woman
in the Nineteenth Century, about how women were beginning to question what they truly needed in
life, and why they didn t have it. The first American feminist movement soon came underway. What
some people don t know is that the feminist movement occurred at the same time as the abolitionist
movement; in fact, some say that the feminist movement was a result of the abolitionist movement.
Some female abolitionists turned to the feminist cause when they realized that they should have the
same rights as any man (i.e. wanted the rights that they were fighting for blacks to have). Sarah and
Angelina Grimke are prime examples of female abolitionists who turned to help the feminist cause.
Sarah and Angelina were daughters of a southern slaveholder.

My Brother s Child Protective Services
When my brother, Alex, was two years old, he was taken from my family because the hospital
wrongly accused my dad of shaking Alex at that time. This started with after my dad put Alex down
on our dining room table, still in his car seat unbuckled, and Alex wiggled his way out and fell to the
ground. After this incident, my parents rushed him to the hospital because he started to have seizures.
The nurses later found that my brother had suffered from shaken baby syndrome. They could only link
it to my dad leaving my brother unattended sitting on the dining room table, but earlier in that week
when Alex was in daycare at Primrose and he would not stop cry so the sitter started to shake him
thinking it would calm him down. Once the nurses found out why Alex was having seizures so
frequently they brought Child Protective Services in, to take my brother away and put him in a foster
home. My parents brought this up with the court and got my grandparents involved so they could gain
custody of Alex. They later won custody of him, after six months of fighting with the court. During
this time, since my parents were so focused on getting Alex back, I was either in the care of my
grandparents, daycare, or in school. I had not been aware that this was going on with my brother and
why I was getting so little attention. At this time I was four years old and was just along for the ride of

How Does Poe Create Fear In The Tell Tale Heart
The Creation of Fear and Dread A scary story should make the reader have chills and gain a sense of

characters, suspense, and the conflicts in the story. First of all, one of the ways Poe creates dread and

said to the old man for that reason. The major conflict in the story is the murdering of the old man:
With a loud yell, I... leaped into the room. He shrieked once... I dragged him to the floor, and pulled
the heavy bed over him (Poe 305). The way the narrator kills the old man is violent and creates fear in

Mothers Deliver Their Babies Vaginally Or Through A...
New moms endure stress in attending to a newborn, but after such an intense labor it is crucial to
make caring for themselves a priority. Mothers deliver their babies vaginally or through a Cesarean
section, although similarities are present in caring for both, differences do arise. During childbirth they
undergo excruciating circumstances no matter which form of delivery they experience. Vaginal birth is
described as the natural from of delivery in which the baby enters the world through the vagina. A

Vaginal delivery stiches dissolve on their own within ten days, making a Cesarean incision
increasingly more difficult to attain. If the staples entail removal, a trip to the doctor is required to
eradicate them without harm. Vaginal delivery doesn t always entail an incision, but an episiotomy is
performed majority of the time. It is possible to tear the perineum if an episiotomy is not performed,
needing stiches to repair the tear. It is important to care for the stitched perineum, as it s possible to
contract an infection like a Cesarean incision. An article I read stated, to help heal your perineum,
keep the area as clean and dry as possible ( Vaginal ). Flushing the area with a spray bottle of fresh
water is suggested, followed by properly drying it, after each bathroom visit. The main care
instruction for life after labor is to keep the openings as clean and as sanitary as possible. Although C
section and Vaginal delivery incisions are on different regions of the body and require diverse
treatment, washing the incisions with soap and warm water is a must in order to heal correctly. Giving
birth is an intense process which, unfortunately, causes misery in the aftermath. After delivery, both
types of childbirth produce pain, site and intensity of the pain determine medications needed. Location
of the incisions being in different areas is what causes the pain to be dissimilar for a Cesarean and
vaginal childbirth.

Circadian Rhythms
Increasing evidence suggests that there is highly regulated relationship between immune function,
sleep, and circadian rhythms. Understanding this complex relationship is clinically relevant because
desynchronization of circadian rhythms and disruptions in sleep are associated with higher likelihood
of disease. It has been demonstrated that there is a bidirectional flux of circadian information between
the immune and neuroendocrine system (Mavroudis, Scheff, Calvano, Androulakis, 2012). The
interactions between these two systems work in concert to optimize immune responses that are vital in
down regulating diseases. Outside factors, such as shift work, chronic stress, and inherited diseases

Essay An Analysis of The Harlot s House
An Analysis of The Harlot s House
Oscar Wilde s The Harlot s House was written in 1881, towards the latter part of the Victorian era.
This genre is a poem containing 12 stanzas. The point of view in this piece is from the narrator s
perspective early on, the narrative distance moves further distant in the fourth stanza, zooms in, then
out again.
The narrator is walking down a street and pauses, with his companion, beneath the harlot s house
(Wilde, Longman p. 2069: 1.3). In the next two stanzas Wilde transitions to the inside of the house
depicting a partygoers atmosphere in Inside, above the din and fray (2.1) and shadows of the figures

chooses to go into the harlot s house Love passed into the house of Lust (10.3). Another reading would
have the narrator s love as the actual harlot herself. I find that harder to fathom, but rather the story of
the narrator s love wooed by the gaiety and frivolous lifestyle more believable. The narrator s
condemnation of this brothel is in keeping with the ending of the Victorian age, a time ruled by
propriety and prudishness. The companion of the narrator chose the allure of a wanton, rule free
lifestyle though.
This poem typifies Wilde s own life to some degree, in that he enjoyed marriage and fatherhood but
found married life a bore (Longman p. 2067). Wilde is then said to have become enamoured of a book
known as the bible of decadence (p. 2067) and similar to his poem, he then chose to enter the harlot s
house, so to speak. His biographer described his decision to follow decadence as Wilde being
summoned to the underground (p. 2067).
Wilde later fell in love with a young man, Lord Alfred Douglas, who unfortunately for Wilde, had a
father that disapproved of the relationship (p.

Ways to Establish a Small Business Essay
In this modern era, being smart academically, having a bachelor or master title cannot guarantee a
person from having a good job with a good salary. Some people don t satisfy with their current work
because they think that the salary is small and they should deserve more, no wonder there are many
people work in places that are very contrast with their study in the past. Nowadays there are many
independent businesses running both online and offline such as online shops, restaurant, saloon, etc.

Desires that entrepreneurs possesses can be used as motivations for establishing the business. ( 7
Langkah Membuat Usaha Sendiri , 2012) desires that a person possesses may be a short term such as
successfully establish the business, have clients, to be known by many people or a long term desire
such as having an increasing income every year.
The next crucial thing that needs to be looked at is managing budget for the soon to established
business. A good businessman should be able to calculate on how much money he or she would spend
his or her career. In many cases an amateur businessman tends to miscalculate the budget, and ended
up getting no profit at all. For beginners, there are many ways to obtain enough budgets to start a
business. A small business may require small amount of budget ( two to tem millions) and it is
possible to obtain the money from his or her own savings.( tips mengawali usaha dengan modal kecil,

from close friends, family, or even bank. Some people may think that asking for a loan is somewhat
inappropriate, so another way to acquire the budget is to cooperate with someone else, in other word
having two founders in one business, and automatically the budget will be split in to two. ( Lima cara

Pathophysiology Of Asthma
Introduction:
Asthma comes from the Greek meaning of short of breath which the world has come to known as
asthma which is shortness of breath. Henry Hyde Salter was the first person to describe asthma in
which he stated: airways narrow due to contraction of their smooth muscle. William Osler known as
the father of medicine described asthma as a spasm of the bronchial muscles, swelling of the bronchial
mucous membrane, the special form of inflammation of the smaller bronchioles, similar to hay fever,
runs in families, begins in childhood and sometimes lasts into old age, can induce a paroxysm. Asthma
was understood about around 1980s when they figured out how the specific allergen exposure causes a

The mucous metaplasia is caused by production and storage of mucins increasing in secretory cells
and club cells. MUC5B and MUC5AC are types of bronchial epithelial cells mRNA which help
mucous clearing and protect against airway infection. This has been thought to be a major player in
airway problems in asthma. IL 13 binding causes mucous metaplasia. This is caused by the binding of
IL 13 which leads to Jak kinases activation and then phosphorylation of transducer and then STAT6.
This STAT6 pathway deals with calcium activated chloride channel one which is also known as
CLCA1 and is the gene related to the airway epithelial cells. In asthma, however, this channel doesn t
function as it normal function which is an ion channel but goes through secretion and cleavage. This
channel can induce MUC5AC through MAP kinase MAPk13. The inflammation aspect of asthma
occurs from a cascade of events usually is a type 2 inflammation dealing with types of CD4+ T cells
like Th2 cells. This pathway deals with a lot of mediators that cause inflammation, IgE, mucosal
surfaces, smooth muscles, and mast cells. When the IgE is created in the body, it is circulated through
the bloodstream.

Good Plumber Research Paper
Finding a good plumber or electrician is a difficult task for home owners.
One, plumbers and electricians possess, or pretend to possess, a skill most of us lack. After all, if we

or an electrician in first place.
Our ignorance not only makes us desperate for their services it also makes us vulnerable to their
scams, cons, and thievery not to mention their plain old shoddy work. To make matters worse, it s
usually an emergency that forces us to call a plumber or an electrician. In our panic for their help, we
tend to let our guard down which makes us even more susceptible to their tricks and dirty tactics.
Furthermore, due to the nature of the business, it s hard to prosecute a bad plumber or electrician. If
you re lucky enough to find them after they ve swindled you out of your money, the plumber or

Children can also tell us a lot about themselves through their art. We can see emotions, interests, and

awaken a creative path. So that through his art he can enter a world of his imaginations which in turn
gives the teacher an understanding of the mental growth of the child. This in turn helps the teacher to

Other features of an individual having good character are honesty, integrity and ethical behavior.

The Physics of Golf Essay
The Physics of Golf
As anyone who has played a round of golf will attest to, the sport is based around many fundamental
principals of physics. These basic laws are involved with every aspect of the game from how a player
swings the club to how the ball moves through the air on its way toward the pin. It is the challenge
that physics presents to the golfer that has allowed the game, and equipment used, to develop so
drastically over the past one hundred years. The first golf balls used were called featheries. They were
made with a horsehide cover packed with wet goose feathers. When the balls dried they became
extremely hard. The major flaw with the featheries was that they could not be used when the
conditions were wet because they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Obviously a lot of time, effort, research, and money were put forth into the development of the golf
ball, as it is manufactured today. The reason for this ongoing process is to help a golfer use some laws
of physics to his advantage (i.e. placing spin on the ball to create lift) while finding a work around for
other physical properties that can be detrimental to a players golf game (i.e. drag which causes the ball
to slow down and fly closer to the ground). When examining the physics, which surrounds the game
of golf, one must carefully consider all aspects of the game, not just the golf ball or even just the
equipment being used. The stroke is by far the most important aspect to any participants round of golf.
Among the scientific community, an event, such as the golf stroke, is thought of as a dynamic process
using the physical principals of mechanics based on Newton s Laws of motion. The stroke is actually
three separate events; the swing of the club, the impact of the club head with the ball, and the flight of
the ball toward the target. It is the sum of these three parts that makes a successful stroke. Before
delving into the details of the golf stroke, it is important for one to consider the general concepts of
motion that control the swing of the golf club. Two men are most influential in this area of study,
Galileo Galilee and Isaac Newton. It is the principles of these two men that

The Relationship Of Child Abuse And Father Daughter
The relationship of child abuse and father daughter incest
Angelica Flores
Washington State University Abstract
Father daughter incest is defined as any sexual act with a family member that is blood related or
closely related. Father daughter incest is the most common type of incest; this is more common than
mother son incest. Research shows that women are more likely to be sexually abused by men because
men are said to be stronger than women. Men can easily abuse women so women feel like they have
no other choice but letting themselves go. Psychotherapy is a way of therapy to help women with
insidious backgrounds. This essay contains different findings researchers have found from different
incest victims. Incest is defined as sexual intercourse or any type of sexual act with a family member
or any person closely related to the child. Incest can also be defined as a relationship with a step
parent/step child even if they are not blood related. The topic of incest is a very controversial subject
and can be seen as a taboo in the society because depending on the cultures, different cultures have
different thoughts on incest. Although incest can be viewed in different ways, incest is still considered
sexual abuse, simply because a child cannot give consent until the age of 18. Incest affects the child
physically, emotionally, and physiologically. Signs of incest/sexual abuse include unexplained injuries,
changes in behavior, or inappropriate sexual behavior to other

Puritanism Vs Deism

they hoped would one day become a prosperous nation. One thing they wanted to have the liberty of
practicing was religion, and having the choice of which particular religions they wished to follow.
Puritanism and Deism were two different religions that were practiced in 17th century New England,

world, so humans were not created with the notion that they are unworthy and undeserving of God s

(Franklin, 27). According to Deists, their God was not a biased God, and every human was created
equal, with no one having a better chance to make it to heaven than others.
The Puritan and Deist views on afterlife are also an area where these two religions are not in sync with
one another. Puritans believed in the concept of predestination, meaning that it was determined
whether one was going to spend afterlife in heaven or hell at the time of their creation. In Day of
Doom, Michael Wigglesworth, a minister in Massachusetts during the 17th century, explains how
there will come a day when Christ returns to earth to judge who will be destined for heaven or doomed
to hell. He writes that Christ explains to those who are being sent to hell deserve their eternal
punishment, despite the fact that it was a foregone conclusion due to the fact that it had been
predetermined. He also explains that in order to accept the offer of God s salvation, one must be able
to comprehend the meaning of such an offer. This puts certain members of society at an obvious

People that have lower income cannot afford the price of better food; therefore those people would

supermarkets sell cheap and unhealthy food to consumers while Farmer s Market can afford
consumers better options. However People can still get better organic food in supermarkets at lower
price these days. It actually applies that supermarkets nowadays are serving better quality food from
local farms just as what Pollan s idea of Farmers Market but with wholesale price. Consumers now
prefer supermarkets for its increasing better quality food and stable price.
Also, as I mentioned before, supermarket is really convenient for consumers for not only having better
quality food in lower price but also serving multi options in a large amount. Compare to the
supermarkets, the space of Farmer s Market is limited, which leads to the food options are limited.
Farmer s Market cannot satisfy every consumer s need of food. From what I observed in Berkley s

hand, have limited options. Also, not everyone has the ability to get the food from Farmer s Market for

Rite Of Initiation In Araby By James Joyce
Rite of Initiation
Rite of initiation, sounds like something frightening, but in literature a rite or story of initiation does
not refer precisely to something of terror. The protagonist of Araby faces experiences for which his
previous experiences had not prepared him. In this case the main character enters a new stage of his
life (an evolutionary stage), from childhood to adolescence. For this reason, Araby, by James Joyce,
should be considered a story of initiation.
The protagonist, and at the same time the narrator of this story is a child that all the experiences he has
had are based on school and play with his friends. He lives in a small, quiet neighborhood, where day
to day life is monotonous. However, the protagonist loses interest in the games, since something else
catches his attention: the sister of his friend Mangan. This boy spends hours looking at this girl and
does not understand the sensations and feelings that she causes, feelings that come to his life for the
first time to make him discover love.
The protagonist has not lived before a similar situation since it is the first time that falls in love. This
first experience represents a discovery. This child does not understand the feelings discovered and the
state in which he is. (...) I myself did not understand (...) I thought little of the future. I did not know
whether I would ever speak to her or not or, if I spoke to her, how I could tell her of my confused
adoration (par. 5). The protagonist

What is smallpox?
Smallpox is a serious infectious disease caused by the variola virus that is contagious. Since 1980,
smallpox has been eliminated by vaccination. Research is still being conducted today on smallpox.
Types of smallpox
There are four types of smallpox. These are: variola minor, variola major, hemorrhagic and malignant.
Variola minor caused only 1% of deaths, while variola major caused 90% of deaths. Hemorrhagic and
malignant are very rare, but almost always cause death. These four types of smallpox are now all

called the incubation period. During these seven to 17 days, the disease has entered the body and is

contagious. Smallpox is silent, but when it makes its appearance, it is deadly. Following the incubation
period, the patient takes a turn for the worse. A few days later, red spots develop on your face, then on
your hands, then on your neck. Soon they turn into blisters with pus in them. This worsens as the
patient forms painful, blister like sores in your mouth that break open.
How is it treated?
There is no cure for smallpox, but the vaccination has kept the disease away for quite a long time.
Also, the advance in cleanliness can help from the spread of this disease. If an outbreak were to
happen again, the vaccination would be key, along with antibiotics that could keep the disease from

were not compatible with. Drawbacks were clearly seen in Mattel s business in several overseas
markets, to name but a few, ban on Barbie in Malaysia due to its lack of Asian appearance; Barbie
confistication in Iran because of its non Islamic features (Ferrell 2007, 484), which go against their
religion in terms of women s image; Barbie rejection in China, a

The Themes In The Shawl By Cynthia Othick
The Short Story named The Shawl by Cynthia Othick narrates the survival of a mother, daughter and a
niece, during the Holocaust, them being in a concentration camp and participating in death marches. It
fits the theme of survival of the fittest as the daughter, named Magda, was forced to adapt to her needs
after the mother was not able to do it. Stella, the niece, is a third wheel in the story, she is most of the
time ignored by Rosa as she fully concentrates in taking care of Magda, or at least attempting to, and
Stella is just left their as somewhat of filling character. The obscurity of Stella is also stated by the
author when she says Stella, cold, cold, the coldness of hell (1980) Cynthia Othick, with this
information it can be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A simple shawl it was what would become Magda s new mom, before Rosa s deterioration, the shawl
was the closest thing Magda had after her mother, once she breaks down the only thing left for Magda
is The Shawl, which takes the mother s role Magda took the corner of the shawl and milked it instead.
She sucked and sucked, flooding the threads with wetness. The shawl s good flavor, milk of linen.

food source for Magda, keeps her warm and gives her comfort, all qualities that the ideal mother

Endangered Language In English
The number of languages spoken in the world has been diminishing steadily over the past centuries.
According to estimates (Romaine, 2007), scientists suggest that on average, one language may vanish
every 14 days, and thousands of languages are on the verge of extinction (Romaine, 2007).
Furthermore, more than half of the languages spoken today are expected to disappear in the next 100
years. What is worse, among the 6,000 existing languages (excluding dialects), only about 5% are
spoken by more than one million speakers, some languages are spoken by just one or two people
(Danesi, 2016, p.18). Scientists and linguists can help revive a dead language or try to maintain a
language to some extent. However, this task faces a great number of struggles and difficulties. In this
essay, we will discuss the influence of dominant language, the importance of language revival, the
value of having a language, and measures to save an endangered language. The greatest difficulty in
postponing language attrition is that people generally want to use the language that has the most
social, political, and economic power. In other words, people prefer to learn dominant languages, such
as English, Spanish, and Chinese, which are spoken by millions of people.
English is now what linguists call a Lingua Franca because of the tendency for people to use English
as an international language (Danesi, 2016, p.122), as well as the fact that over 40 countries use
English as their official

Clarity Concert Report
On May 28, 2015, high school students Morgan Cassidy and Coralyn Whalen performed their self
choreographed jazz duet, titled Clarity. Clarity is the story of two people in a very addicting
relationship, that is completely hopeless, but continues to hold on to hope. Clarity, along with many
other pieces performed in St. Theresa Catholic Secondary Schools dance recital, was an effective and
eye catching piece that used distinct emotion throughout the entire song. The piece had very
substantial timing issues, and minor technique issues, but overall, the piece demonstrated excellent
partnership and promising potential.
The dancers of Clarity used profound emotion not only in their faces, but in their movements as well.
Throughout the entire dance ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this particular piece, it was clear that the dancers were striving to hit each beat perfectly, but their
efforts weren t enough. In most sections of the dance, one of the dancers sometimes both of the
dancers, were not in perfect unison. Perfect timing is essential for a duet to look clean and
professional. If the dancers were to perform this piece again, I would advocate them to work towards
restoring the timing of their number.
My last point is about the dancers techniques, which especially relates to the timing of their piece.
While observing the dance, I couldn t help but notice the amount free movement being used. I don t
necessarily think that using free movement was the best idea for this piece, because the tempo of the
song Clarity is very technical. In my opinion, if the dancers had increased their technique to perfect
their piece, it may have looked professional and complete.
The partnership that Morgan Cassidy and Coralyn Whalen displayed throughout this whole piece
created an excellent number, and promising potential for future pieces. If both dancers work hard to
improve on the few things I have mentioned, I feel that this number will reach its full prospective, in
the near

Are Atomic Bombs Justified
The issue focused on in this page is why i believe dropping the atomic bombs was not justified for the
United States to have done. Such as how the United States could have tried harder for Japan to
surrender, they did not want to let the Japanese keep their emperor. Which was like a God like figure
to the Japanese the U.S. should of just let them keep their emperor and Japan would have possibly
surrender. Don t you think that the United States could have picked other places to drop the bomb not
in inhabited places with innocent people that had no part in the war. Perhaps the United States could
have even explained the potential power of the bombs which could cause fear and also a method of
convincing them to surrender. A few 250,000 people

Destino And See You Again
Hitting the pain away or letting a person be free is a way to summarize the endings of Destino and See
You Again . The man in Destino picks up a ball of what used to be the ballerina s head and hits it into
the distance. The ball/head is used to symbolize the woman at the beginning of the short film. Letting
her go by hitting the ball away is the equivalent of the part of the song describing how to carry on after
a person is gone. Strength is needed to move on with life and strength is needed to hit a baseball far
away. The baseball player symbolizes the man on the pyramid, reaching for the head at the bottom of
the pyramid. He is also seen reaching for the clock, which can be a way of asking for more time with
the face at the bottom. The

America Has Benefited The Field Of Education
Teach for America has benefited the field of education. Teach for America provides an education for
children in low income communities by recruiting a diverse group of members who desire to expand
their educational opportunities. The program provides an intense training, support and career
development to assist members in increasing their impact and deepen their understanding of what it
takes to provide an excellent education for students. Teach for America has also produced members
that now work at various levels of education, policy, and other professions, to ensure all children
receive an excellent education (Teach for America, 2012). Teach for America has had its share of
controversies. The organization has placed TFA corps members into positions previously held by
veteran teachers. Some districts are laying off veteran teachers and replacing them with TFA to ease
budget issues. The practice of laying off veteran teachers and replacing them with TFA has been
reported in Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, and Washington, D.C. (Heilig Jez, 2010). Veteran
teachers are having to compete with Teach for America recruits for teaching positions despite their
lengthier training because TFA recruits are cheaper than teachers with experience or advanced degrees
(Hootnick, 2014). Another controversial issue surrounding Teach for America is the placement of its
core members. All of the state s TFA teachers are placed based upon teacher shortages by subject area.

The Vampire Effect Of Dracula
Not many people would think that they can be compared to Count Dracula. Considered to be one of
the most well known monsters of all time, Count Dracula sucks the blood of his victims, which would
ultimately lead to their death. While this seems like a very unique example, it can be applied to nearly
every person, specifically in the college stetting. This phenomenon that can be linked to this monster
is called the vampire effect. First used in the book ______, this term refers to the what happens in
social groups due to different personality types that were caused by a difference in economic
background. Set in a college dormitory, chapter 4 of the book discusses how there is a difference in the
social lives of students who are quiet versus students who are more outgoing. Students who were shy
were generally ignored and did not seem to partake in many social activities. While Armstrong and
Hamilton suggest that the Vampire Effect arises due to the social students knowingly ignoring and
rejecting the shyer students, that is not the case. The cycle through which the effect takes place starts
with self comparison due to economic status, envy, and self blame, and results in anxiety and self
isolation. Although this is done unintentionally, consciously known factors such debt and class also
play a role in the process.
As Armstrong and Hamilton describe the social isolates , Others treated the quieter roommate as sort
of a sidekick or an invisible appendage (105).

The s Presence Of Latin America
Hezbollah s presence in Latin America is growing and the organization remains the premiere terrorist
organization in the world. Douglas Farah
Iran s use of Hezbollah as a proxy is much akin to China using North Korea, however, the former is
much more in stride with one another than the latter. It is said that where Iran goes, Hezbollah is not
far behind.
In order to run an international terrorist organization you need money. Despite receiving the majority
of funding from Iran, Hezbollah began working in Latin America in the mid 1980s. Once established
in a near lawless region along the tri border area of Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay, Hezbollah began
to commit acts of piracy, money laundering, counterfeiting, and drug ... Show more content on

As Iran gains political ties in South America, Hezbollah is given more freedom to operate. Jewish and
Sunni personnel will continue to be targeted throughout the region. The alliance with Los Zetas could
lead to cross border attacks into the United States. The world is aware of Iran s nuclear ambitions and
U.S. State Department officials believe Venezuela has allowed Iran to mine uranium. Would Iran share
a nuclear weapon with Hezbollah? With numerous fighters and a deep coffers, Hezbollah is ready to
strike worldwide at a moment s notice.
I agree, the enemy of my enemy is my friend...but that equilateral triangle can be turned on any side.
Hopefully all muslim parties in the region put aside their differences and turn towards the United
States and think the same thing. Yes, the US is supporting Iranian forces in Iraq and the Free Syrian
Army in the fight against ISIS but for how long and to what end? If and when ISIS is eliminated, then
what? Will the US cut ties the way we did after the Russians pulled out of Afghanistan? Who do we
support after the threat of ISIS is gone? Saudi Arabia is a Sunni nation and our strongest ally in the
region but, as you stated above, we are helping the Shia muslims fight back. How will this effect
future relations with Saudi Arabia and other Sunni countries? For decades, the Middle East has been a
hot bed for one conflict after another. Countries like Russia, China, and North Korea are using

  • 2. A Interview At An Interview Shortly after the submission of my application, I received an email inviting me to the interview that would be conducted in company s office in London. Overall, in my opinion, I did my best in terms of the preparation. I researched the company s history, read about its most popular products and familiarized myself with the recent industry and company s news (Burke and Thurgood 2007). A week prior to the interview date I attended an interview preparation session organized by the Careers Office which, as noted by Spears (1979), was supposed to help me feel more comfortable during the actual interview. As a result, I had, what Bandura (1982) would call a high level of self efficacy, meaning that I hold an opinion that I would succeed in an interview. Turning attention to the actual interview, it was conducted face to face on company s premises and my interviewer was a middle aged white woman. From the first seconds of the interview she had an open body language and she maintained a good eye contact. Armstrong (2012) indicates that such behaviour helps to establish the good rapport with the applicant and it was certainly true in my case. It was a structured employment interview as I was asked a set of prepared questions (Levashina et al. 2014) that explored if I possessed skills and competencies required for the job position. As the interviewer followed the script, it led to the consistency in information received, implying more accurate selection decision (Garcia et al. 2008). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. What Are The Main Functions And Objectives Of The Bank Of... 1. What are the main functions and objectives of the Bank of England? The Bank of England is the central bank of the United Kingdom. As all the central banks, its main goal is to guarantee financial and monetary stability. It also acts as a lender of last resort protecting banks in case they fail. A key point in having stability is through public confidence in money. One of their missions is to protect the value of money over time, to assure that people and companies can invest their money with confidence. To achieve this confidence level the Bank of England has to comply with the monetary stability objectives. Monetary stability also means price stability. Price stability refers to inflation. The government inflation target is 2%. Monetary stability is achieved through the monetary policy, which consists of the process in which the bank controls the money supply and the interest rate with the aim of getting a set of objectives oriented ... • 4. Cultural Heritage Protection During Armed Conflict Introduction The destruction of cultural heritage during armed conflict has become the forefront issue within the international discourse on its legal protection in the last several decades. Many scholars and professionals have contributed to the development of international legal instruments concerning cultural heritage protection. This thesis analyzes the existing international legal instruments to demonstrate their practical application, or lack there of, in recent armed conflict situations vis à vis the changing paradigm in the execution of war. The complexity of the issue of law and cultural heritage protection during armed conflict is that it involves a variety of disciplines: anthropology, archeology, architecture, conservation, law, international affairs, politics and philosophy among others. Therefore when addressing the issue, all disciplines, as well as the many stakeholders involved, must be considered and challenged. Nevertheless, this thesis focuses on a legal analysis of cultural heritage protection during armed conflict to establish the importance that cultural heritage has on humanity at large and to emphasize the role of the international community in its safeguarding. The conceptual basis of this thesis is cultural heritage, therefore a critical analysis of the ideology associated with the terms, culture and heritage, is fundamental to understanding their development throughout time and within international legal instruments. • 5. Modern Medicine And Biotechnology Have Increased The... Introduction In the past couple of years, advancements in modern medicine and biotechnology have increased. Biotechnology, quoted from the Business Dictionary, is the application of biology to produce industrial enzymes, improved plants and animals, medicines, pesticides, etc., from living organisms or their parts. Genetic engineering is a special application of biotechnology in which genetic (hereditary) material of a plant or animal is modified (at the molecular level) to produce more desirable qualities. These advancements have helped increase the lifespan of humans across the world. One example of a form of biotechnology are muscle stimulators, which help keep muscles strong while broken bones heal, because a human can t really use a muscle with a broken bone. Another example is a nerve regenerator, which help produce cells that encourages nerve development. Cloning is a form of biotechnology. The process of producing an organism that is genetically identical is called cloning. Cloning is an asexual reproduction process. Cloning in biotechnology is manually cloning an organism or molecular cloning of DNA fragments. There are three types of cloning in biotechnology; reproductive cloning which are used to produce an exact copy of an existing organism, DNA cloning which are used to produce copies of DNA fragments, and Therapeutic cloning, which is used to for medical purposes. Thus, due to the cultural differences, it is difficult for Latina parents to raise their children the traditional way without adhering to some of the norms of American culture. Economic difficulties seem to be a widespread theme throughout the books this semester. Obviously, it is difficult to get a well paying job in a new country without proper education or without being proficient with the language. I knew about the racism and stereotyping these people have faced for years in the US. Thus, it came as no surprise that the authors presented instances of explicit racism and stereotyping. Additionally, most of the books take place in the 1950 s and 60 s which highlights the racism Latina s experienced during this time period. However, the racism continues after 9/11 in Cepeda s memoir Bird of Paradise, which shows that racist attitudes towards Latin American s have not dwindled over the years, but are still prevalent in our society today. Knowing the racism Latina s continue to face today, I believe it can become difficult for Latin American s to truly feel as if they belong in this country. For instance, the study conducted by Parra Cardona, et al. asked both foreign born and U.S. born Latina parents questions regarding family life, and experiences in America. Unsurprisingly, the research found that both foreign born and U.S. born Latinas have experienced discrimination in America. One mother recalls: I remember a lot of things from school... They started to believe the government could solve their economic problems if they cooperated as part of the system. When once they were known as the epitome of the American dream, independent, and self sufficient, they now submitted to government regulation. This decision was made in the 1896 elections. As a result of this transition, many children of farmers left and found work in the city. It is called the Sensorimotor stage because in it children are occupied with sensing things and moving them. This happens later on in the stage. When they are new born they have no concept of there being anything else apart from themselves in the world. In fact they think that they are the world. It is easier to ask what evidence there may be that an individual has acquired the concept. One piece of evidence is the child s apparent belief that objects exist when not perceived. This is called belief in Object Permanence. If a cloth is placed over a toy for which an eight month old child is reaching, the child will immediately lose interest in the toy, as if the toy had ceased to exist. This is just what it has done for the child; as soon as anything passes from its experience that thing is no more. However, only a couple of months later, the same child in a similar situation will actively search for an object that has been hidden from its view. The older child has the concept of Object Permanence; it believes that there is an object under the cloth even though it cannot see it, feel it, hear it, taste it or smell it, and will make an effort to reach it if it so desires. Also, women didn t have as much freedom when it came to choosing a profession (most ended up being teachers or writers). The point of view in this piece is from the narrator s perspective early on, the narrative distance moves further distant in the fourth stanza, zooms in, then out again. The narrator is walking down a street and pauses, with his companion, beneath the harlot s house (Wilde, Longman p. 2069: 1.3). Another reading would have the narrator s love as the actual harlot herself. I find that harder to fathom, but rather the story of the narrator s love wooed by the gaiety and frivolous lifestyle more believable. The narrator s condemnation of this brothel is in keeping with the ending of the Victorian age, a time ruled by propriety and prudishness. The companion of the narrator chose the allure of a wanton, rule free lifestyle though. This poem typifies Wilde s own life to some degree, in that he enjoyed marriage and fatherhood but found married life a bore (Longman p. 2067). Wilde is then said to have become enamoured of a book known as the bible of decadence (p. 2067) and similar to his poem, he then chose to enter the harlot s house, so to speak. The mucous metaplasia is caused by production and storage of mucins increasing in secretory cells and club cells. MUC5B and MUC5AC are types of bronchial epithelial cells mRNA which help mucous clearing and protect against airway infection. This has been thought to be a major player in airway problems in asthma. IL 13 binding causes mucous metaplasia. This is caused by the binding of IL 13 which leads to Jak kinases activation and then phosphorylation of transducer and then STAT6. This STAT6 pathway deals with calcium activated chloride channel one which is also known as CLCA1 and is the gene related to the airway epithelial cells. In asthma, however, this channel doesn t function as it normal function which is an ion channel but goes through secretion and cleavage. This channel can induce MUC5AC through MAP kinase MAPk13. What is worse, among the 6,000 existing languages (excluding dialects), only about 5% are spoken by more than one million speakers, some languages are spoken by just one or two people (Danesi, 2016, p.18). Scientists and linguists can help revive a dead language or try to maintain a language to some extent. However, this task faces a great number of struggles and difficulties. In this essay, we will discuss the influence of dominant language, the importance of language revival, the value of having a language, and measures to save an endangered language. The greatest difficulty in postponing language attrition is that people generally want to use the language that has the most social, political, and economic power. In other words, people prefer to learn dominant languages, such as English, Spanish, and Chinese, which are spoken by millions of people. English is now what linguists call a Lingua Franca because of the tendency for people to use English as an international language (Danesi, 2016, p.122), as well as the fact that over 40 countries use English as their official ... • 42. Clarity Concert Report On May 28, 2015, high school students Morgan Cassidy and Coralyn Whalen performed their self choreographed jazz duet, titled Clarity. Clarity is the story of two people in a very addicting relationship, that is completely hopeless, but continues to hold on to hope. Clarity, along with many other pieces performed in St. Theresa Catholic Secondary Schools dance recital, was an effective and eye catching piece that used distinct emotion throughout the entire song. The piece had very substantial timing issues, and minor technique issues, but overall, the piece demonstrated excellent partnership and promising potential. The dancers of Clarity used profound emotion not only in their faces, but in their movements as well. Throughout the entire dance ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this particular piece, it was clear that the dancers were striving to hit each beat perfectly, but their efforts weren t enough. In most sections of the dance, one of the dancers sometimes both of the dancers, were not in perfect unison. Perfect timing is essential for a duet to look clean and professional. If the dancers were to perform this piece again, I would advocate them to work towards restoring the timing of their number. My last point is about the dancers techniques, which especially relates to the timing of their piece. While observing the dance, I couldn t help but notice the amount free movement being used. I don t necessarily think that using free movement was the best idea for this piece, because the tempo of the song Clarity is very technical. In my opinion, if the dancers had increased their technique to perfect their piece, it may have looked professional and complete. The partnership that Morgan Cassidy and Coralyn Whalen displayed throughout this whole piece created an excellent number, and promising potential for future pieces. If both dancers work hard to improve on the few things I have mentioned, I feel that this number will reach its full prospective, in the near ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Are Atomic Bombs Justified The issue focused on in this page is why i believe dropping the atomic bombs was not justified for the United States to have done. Such as how the United States could have tried harder for Japan to surrender, they did not want to let the Japanese keep their emperor. Which was like a God like figure to the Japanese the U.S. should of just let them keep their emperor and Japan would have possibly surrender. Don t you think that the United States could have picked other places to drop the bomb not in inhabited places with innocent people that had no part in the war. Perhaps the United States could have even explained the potential power of the bombs which could cause fear and also a method of convincing them to surrender. A few 250,000 people ... • 44. Destino And See You Again Hitting the pain away or letting a person be free is a way to summarize the endings of Destino and See You Again . The man in Destino picks up a ball of what used to be the ballerina s head and hits it into the distance. The ball/head is used to symbolize the woman at the beginning of the short film. Letting her go by hitting the ball away is the equivalent of the part of the song describing how to carry on after a person is gone. Strength is needed to move on with life and strength is needed to hit a baseball far away. The baseball player symbolizes the man on the pyramid, reaching for the head at the bottom of the pyramid. He is also seen reaching for the clock, which can be a way of asking for more time with the face at the bottom. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. America Has Benefited The Field Of Education Teach for America has benefited the field of education. Teach for America provides an education for children in low income communities by recruiting a diverse group of members who desire to expand their educational opportunities. The program provides an intense training, support and career development to assist members in increasing their impact and deepen their understanding of what it takes to provide an excellent education for students. Teach for America has also produced members that now work at various levels of education, policy, and other professions, to ensure all children receive an excellent education (Teach for America, 2012). Teach for America has had its share of controversies. The organization has placed TFA corps members into positions previously held by veteran teachers. Some districts are laying off veteran teachers and replacing them with TFA to ease budget issues. The practice of laying off veteran teachers and replacing them with TFA has been reported in Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, and Washington, D.C. (Heilig Jez, 2010). Veteran teachers are having to compete with Teach for America recruits for teaching positions despite their lengthier training because TFA recruits are cheaper than teachers with experience or advanced degrees (Hootnick, 2014). Another controversial issue surrounding Teach for America is the placement of its core members. All of the state s TFA teachers are placed based upon teacher shortages by subject area. Often ... • 46. The Vampire Effect Of Dracula Not many people would think that they can be compared to Count Dracula. Considered to be one of the most well known monsters of all time, Count Dracula sucks the blood of his victims, which would ultimately lead to their death. While this seems like a very unique example, it can be applied to nearly every person, specifically in the college stetting. This phenomenon that can be linked to this monster is called the vampire effect. First used in the book ______, this term refers to the what happens in social groups due to different personality types that were caused by a difference in economic background. Set in a college dormitory, chapter 4 of the book discusses how there is a difference in the social lives of students who are quiet versus students who are more outgoing. Students who were shy were generally ignored and did not seem to partake in many social activities. While Armstrong and Hamilton suggest that the Vampire Effect arises due to the social students knowingly ignoring and rejecting the shyer students, that is not the case. The cycle through which the effect takes place starts with self comparison due to economic status, envy, and self blame, and results in anxiety and self isolation. Although this is done unintentionally, consciously known factors such debt and class also play a role in the process. As Armstrong and Hamilton describe the social isolates , Others treated the quieter roommate as sort of a sidekick or an invisible appendage (105). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. The s Presence Of Latin America Hezbollah s presence in Latin America is growing and the organization remains the premiere terrorist organization in the world. Douglas Farah Iran s use of Hezbollah as a proxy is much akin to China using North Korea, however, the former is much more in stride with one another than the latter. It is said that where Iran goes, Hezbollah is not far behind. In order to run an international terrorist organization you need money. Despite receiving the majority of funding from Iran, Hezbollah began working in Latin America in the mid 1980s. I agree, the enemy of my enemy is my friend...but that equilateral triangle can be turned on any side. Hopefully all muslim parties in the region put aside their differences and turn towards the United States and think the same thing. Yes, the US is supporting Iranian forces in Iraq and the Free Syrian Army in the fight against ISIS but for how long and to what end? If and when ISIS is eliminated, then what? Will the US cut ties the way we did after the Russians pulled out of Afghanistan? Who do we support after the threat of ISIS is gone? Saudi Arabia is a Sunni nation and our strongest ally in the region but, as you stated above, we are helping the Shia muslims fight back.
