Essay on Managed Care and Utilization Management
Utilization management is described as the implementation of guidelines which reduce unnecessary
use of medical resources (Kongstvedt, 2007, p.190). There are a variety of methods used to ensure
costs are kept at a minimum without compromising patient care. The use of utilization management
(UM) are yielding financial benefits resulting in managed care organizations (MCOs) and facilities
investing more into UM programs.
Health maintenance organization s (HMOs) use of the primary care physician (PCP) as the gatekeeper
initially had MCOs view restrictions as a negative approach to patients choices. However, some
necessary steps have started to be implemented which reduce unnecessary utilization by enforcing
some restrictions. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Self care and medical consumerism programs are also a part of DM. They provide member with
access to medical information that will assist them in caring for themselves and knowing when to
consult a professional. These programs are now an accreditation standard for health plans by the
National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) as they promote consumer directed health (CDH).
The benefits of self care programs show $2.50 to $3.50 saved for every $1 invested by health plans. A
HMO study done showed a decrease in outpatient visits as well as a 2:1 return (Kongstvedt, 2007,
p.192). Another different study showed a decrease in pediatric acute care visits also.
Other programs under DM that have shown to be beneficial to both the members and the health plans
are, shared decision making programs and medical informatics. PPOs, HMOs and CDHPs have
preventive services programs being implemented. Preventive services include services such as:
immunizations, mammograms, physicals, and counseling. An independent study on an indemnity plan
that had prenatal preventive services showed that members who enrolled into this program had an
average of $3200 less per delivery than those who had not (p.194). Health risk appraisals are a
program geared to obtain information from members regarding activities or behaviors that can affect
their health status (Kongstvedt, 2007,p.193). When the health plan obtains this information it

The Importance Of Street Culture In El Barrio
There is an area in NYC named El Barrio within El Barrio there is a large group of working class
Puerto Rican residents living their lives but struggling with facing street cultural and their ethnic
background. Living in harsh situations put a toll on the residents that were trying to live and make it
out. In El Barrio, street culture is clustered and influential and is challenging for them to continue the
traditional Puerto Rican culture. In this paper, I agree that street culture has a significant impact on the
resident than their traditional Puerto Rican culture, I demonstrate by looking at their jobs,
relationships, drug usage. Also, looking at substantial, significant residents Primo for a male aspect,
Candy for a female perspective, but connect to the whole community in El Barrio. I believe this is
significant because these are the three main topics that was brought up also the two main voices for
each gender, which helps the reader read about the unique way street culture had started to have more
of an influence of tradition.
Jobs had a significant factor on the residents in El Barrio and is profoundly affected by the street
culture. First, the traditional way Puerto Ricans found jobs were in the nearby factories. It was a trade
that they learned, and they stayed at for years many never left. Even though working conditions were
not high and most worked as assembly line work they stayed with it. There were benefits to working
for decent pay, overtime. It was common

Role Of Women s Sexuality In Romantic Films
Pressure on Women s Sexuality
Another issue women audience members have to deal with while watching rom coms is sexuality. Sex
sells, honey and it knows no boundaries certainly not in certain chick flicks.
Audiences of both genders are hardly immune to the commercial powers of oversexualization.
(Thompson,45). Many different genres of film have sexual themes in their plot. Chick flick share this
in common with other films. Hollywood knows what makes money in the movie industry and one the
biggest is selling sex to the audience. In romantic comedies, all the actors are some of the most
beautiful people you have ever seen. Looks matter so much in these films. Older films like Sixteen

Movie goers need to be aware of the social gender roles these movies inforce. They need to be
mindful that these movie glorify unhealthy ideas of love, and sexualize women. They also need to
realize that most of the betrayal of love in chick flicks are a tricks and unrealistic versions of love.
Falling in love isn t what is wrong with these movies. Losing yourself in love is the tragedy and trick
of these films. There has been some positive changes like strong women character staying true to
themselves and pursuing their dream, but romantic movies have a long way to go. Television writes

Essay thomas eakins
Thomas Eakins nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Thomas Eakins was born on July 25, 1844, in
Philadelphia, and with the exception of four years of study in Paris and Spain, the city remained his
home. Its school, public and private art collections, and community of artists, many of whom were
recent emigrants from Europe trained in the academic tradition and familiar with new artistic styles,
provided Eakins with an unusually wide ranging art education for an American artist of his day. nbsp;
nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; When Eakins arrived in Paris in 1866 to continue his art studies, he was in the
vanguard of young artists who would revolutionize American art over the next two decades, breaking

had used photographs from the other sources as aids for his painting in the 1870 s, but the acquisition
of his own camera inspired a period of intensive investigation of photography as a tool for making art.
Eakins made scores of photographs as studies for a group of major paintings, among them Mending

pictures to help them. nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Following Eakins dismissal, thirty eight of his

Warehouse 13 Research Paper
During this summer, my friends recommended that I watch Warehouse 13 since I m fond of science
fiction movies, television shows, and books. However, I was astonished that I truly enjoyed the first
four seasons. I have seen many episodes of Doctor Who, Supernatural, and The X Files and I was
unsatisfied there was an abundance of episodes. In all honesty, I won t be able to catch up on those
shows. On the other hand, Warehouse 13 is distinctive, this show only had five seasons and around
sixty episodes. They only lasted about forty minutes each so I finished the series in two weeks because
the show only lasted five years. I appreciate this show because Warehouse 13 filmed an episode based
off of Indiana Jones. No doubt Indiana Jones movies are better, but Warehouse 13 was practically
featured in the movies. Warehouse 13 took the idea of the warehouse in Indiana Jones but made the
show their own. I determined that the characters, setting, and plot made me cherish this show. ... Show

Holmes Sheppard Case
Why does a trial get a retrial when the first trial served justice? Dr. Samuel Holmes Sheppard was
born in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1923. He studied at Hanover College and Western Reserve University.
Sheppard pursued careers in medicine. He got married in 1945 to his high school girlfriend, Marilyn.
After a few years of their marriage, they returned back to Cleveland, Ohio. Until July 4, 1954, they
lived a charmed life in a wealthy neighbourhood. Then suddenly on July 4, 1954, Marilyn was found
dead in their bedroom. This case is known as one of the longest running and most sensationalized
court cases in the United States history because of the elements of doubt within the case. Dr. Sheppard
was convicted of the murder. In the first trial, he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Firstly, prosecution didn t realize about phone calling his friend when Sheppard can check the pulse by
himself. Even though he is a doctor, why would he call his friend to check whether she died or not? It
doesn t matter what kind of doctor you are, all the doctors were trained the basic things such as
checking pulse. For me, I learned it when I was in 8th grade, so Sheppard should know it. This shows
that he knew she died, but he called his friend, so in case if gets in trouble, his friend s testimony can
save him. Secondly, neither the defense nor the prosecution brought up about his make up stories. In
the article by Larkin, B, from Speaking up for Marilyn in the 60 year old Sam Sheppard murder case
stated that when Sheppard was making alibis to walk away when he got arrested. However, in the
second trial, no one brought it up. When Sheppard was arrested he said that there was blushy haired
killed her. However, there wasn t any damaged in the house. Unfortunately, no one brought this up.
Thirdly, the defense counsel didn t let Sheppard to testify because Sheppard s Cool, pedantic style did
not make a good impressions with the 1954 trial. ( Linder, Law2) If the defense counsel allowed it
then the truth would have been out. Fourthly, the bloodstain on his pants, which shows that he when

Foils In Romeo And Juliet
What is a foil? Right away some may think of the aluminum sheets to cover or make things out of.
When thinking of a foil in the literature language, it creates a whole different mindset. A foil is when
two characters personalities are completely opposite from one another to accentuate each other.
William Shakespeare, writer of the love story Romeo and Juliet uses foils greatly among the
Montagues and Capulets. The Montagues and Capulets are the two families who have a rivalry with
each other. Their hate for each other causes a lot of unnecessary drama especially when it comes
between the love of young Romeo and sweet Juliet. Foils do make the story more interesting to show
how one can change another with a different personality. Mercutio

Chase’s Strategy for Syndicating the Hong Kong Disneyland...
1. Chase should have bid for the loan mandate in such a way to maximize the investment fee income
after controlling for risks involved, and the client s preferences for syndicated loan. Thus. Chase faced
a trade off between Risks and rewards. We have to weigh out the risks with rewards as below
Risks Involved
Credit and Downgrade risk This arises from the level of exposure that Chase would take in the
HK$3.3 billion loan. Usually they put a limit of 10%. Thus Chase had to bid in such a way to have
greater co operation from syndicating partners so as to reduce the resulting loan exposure by way of
spreading the risk with other players

Thus a competitive but less profitable bid could result in more profitable bid in future
The market flex clause effectively reduces Chase s underwriting risk and gives them room to reduce
underwriting fees and be competitive.
Thus, Chase must bid to win, and set a competitive underwriting fee and an option to syndicate for the
risk and rewards discussed above.
2. We would recommend Disney to sign Chase´s standard commitment letter because, by doing so,
Disney would increase the probability of a successful closure of the project. If the situation changes
adversely for Chase, the bank has the possibility of renegotiating some aspects of the contract instead
of pulling out and ruin the execution of the project.
This also gives Disney the power to negotiate for a lower underwriting fees
However, Disney might be concerned because
The market flex terms which give Chase the possibility of changing the contract without the borrower
´s consent. In the clause is written that changes would be done after consultation with Disney but this
term could be confusing.
Moreover, the standard contract is vague in conditions under which Chase would apply triggering
clauses.
Another concern for Disney should be the fact that if the company sign the market flex terms, Chase
would be over charging underwriting fees which aim is usually to cover

Hotel. This hotel is the most cherished hotel in town, where the employees and guests enjoy spending
time at this five star hotel. This place hosts approximate 700 employees that give fantastic benefits,

their hotel thus far. The new American chain hotel decided to keep all 700 employees and promoted a

What Was The Role Of Counterculture In The 1960 s
Straying away from the mainstream can be difficult unless there is a group of people with a common
interest that brings them together. The 1960s was a time of not only prominent mainstream culture but
also counterculture. The mainstream culture was notably defined by four different concepts that
connected white middle and upper class Americans: Patriotism, believing in the institution of
marriage, the American dream, and the idea that conformity kept society ordered. In contrast, the
counterculture of the time went against all of these ideals, believing in rejecting traditional American
society by dropping out and forming communes, taking part in free love, and the rebellion against
conformity and materialism. What made the community of hippies, or people who rejected the
mainstream and followed the ideas of the counterculture, so strong was the common thread that
brought them together. This common interest was psychedelic drugs, like LSD, ... Show more content

of the time were using drugs that are now categorized as depressants. Things like alcohol and tobacco
were incredibly popular and common. On a more extreme side, opium was the go to hard drug of
these decades. As the mainstream drug use of the 1950s swayed towards these depressants, people of
color living in ghettos and white beatniks started to embrace marijuana. With the use of marijuana
increasing and the new generation striving to break away from their parents habit of shutting out the
world, the children of the 1940s and 1950s became the hippies of the 1960s, using not only marijuana

Christian Science Research Papers
Cristian Science Christian Science is an ongoing religious cult that was started in the early nineteenth
century. Mary Baker Eddy was the original founder who started the idea in the United States during
1879. After a thirty five year revision period, she finished the Christian Science textbook, Science and
Health with Key to the Scriptures. The textbook was finally published in 1875, which stated all the
beliefs of Christian Science. Some of the beliefs include the tenets of Christian Science. Each tenet
explains what a Christian Scientist believes about God, the Bible, and Jesus. The largest controversy
when it comes to Christian Science is the belief about healing and medicine. They believe that prayer
and spiritual means to heal themselves of any sickness. The concept was produced when Mary was
reading the Bible while being ill. Her idea of spiritual healing is also believed to be a large part of
redemption. If a person does not believe that God will heal them through prayer, then they are not
saved. After teaching a class her newfound belief on healing, she established a school called the
Massachusetts Metaphysical College. Many of her students became believers and were able to heal
people. It was during this time that the belief grew until the twenty first ... Show more content on

English Bill Of Rights Essay
Not to be confused with the American Bill of Rights, the English Bill of Rights was written in 1689.
What they really were was an act declaring the rights and liberties of the subject and settling the
succession of the crown. Like the Magna Carta, the Bill of Rights is a basic and fundamental
document of the constitution law in England. The reason for the bill of rights was to ensure and
guarantee the safety of the human rights that the citizens were ought to have. The bill of rights reduced
the power the monarch had on the civilians, and gave the civilians more power towards the monarchs.
The English Bill of Rights came after the defeat of King James II and the crowning of William III and
Mary as the new joint rulers of England. Some of these rights included the rights to bear arms, the

The Bill of Rights hasn t only had a positive effect on England, but they also influenced other
countries to create Bill of Rights of their own. The Kingdom of Scotland also had a similar document
written in 1689, United States of America also has a similar concept of the Bill of Rights. Its influence
can also be seen in the United Nations Declaration of Human rights and the European Convention on
Human rights. All of these countries had a similar problem, too much power belonging to one person
without the system of checks and balances.
The Bill of rights were intended not only to ensure basic human rights to the Englishmen, but to also
limit the power that the monarch had on the people. The Englishmen had already learned a lot from
the previous kings, and they knew a constitutional document was needed to save the people from an

Beliefs regarding the Illuminati conspiracy are prevalent in recent books and movies, reaching the cult

Abnormality can be portrayed as a misbehavior, disorder, depression, and dysfunction. With the
different types of abnormality models can very well describe what the individual is going through and

Psychodynamic will focus more on the forces such as the id, ego, and superego. Most likely it will

Younger Dryas Impact Hypothesis
Younger Dryas Climate Event
Occurring about 12,800 years ago, The Younger Dryas Climate Event was an abrupt climate change
that dropped the Earth temperature by about 10 degrees, bringing dry winds ( Abrupt Climate Change
, 2003). This event followed a warming trend that had resulted in glacier melting. As the melting water
filtered down the Mississippi and into the Gulf of Mexico, its route suddenly diverted, carrying the
water east into the Atlantic Ocean. This change in the water path disrupted both the salinity and the
flow in the ocean system, thus changing the climate of the Northern region. Unfortunately, 30 species
of animals became extinct as a result of the changes, and nearly 80 percent of North America s large
animals disappeared (video). Ending abruptly, the Younger Dryas officially ... Show more content on

Although no debate exists regarding whether this event occurred, several theories have been created
explaining the reason why it occurred. One such theory is the Younger Dryas Impact Hypothesis, also
known as the Clovis Comet Hypothesis, which proposes that a comet or asteroid hit North America,
killing off many animals and human instantly, and non adapting species were also eradicated due to
starvation (video). One critique of this hypothesis is that no crater has been found on Earth s surface;
however, it is likely that the comet hit the glacier, which ultimately melted and left no physical sign.
Another hypothesis depends on the idea of a thermohaline circulation shutdown due to the changes in
ocean circulation ( Abrupt Climate Change , 2003). A problem with this hypothesis, however, is that
another glacier melting event occurred following the Younger Dryas, and it did not create a massive
climate change. Another theory states that the climate change was brought on by Earth s orbital
changes, but much more information is needed regarding this

memories was when I was still living in Robbinsdale. My dad was, and still is, the type of guy that
will let his kids take risks if he knows a lesson could be learned from the outcome. That is exactly
what he did in this situation. I thought is was a good idea to try and climb up a slide at a busy
playground, consequently, there ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Normally I would have never tried this at all, not even thought about it, but something that day pulled
me to try it so I did. Going back and thinking about it now it was a really bad idea because I could
barely water ski in general! The pain was immense, the amount of stinging I was feeling was like
nothing I had ever experienced. I was up and doing pretty well for about 40 feet. Then my toe caught
the water and I went face first into the wake of the boat. As I swam up to the surface of the water i
started laughing uncontrollably, I was laughing so hard I thought I was going to inhale water. When I
reached to surface my lungs were burning, it felt like I had gone without air for hours. The boat circled
back around and a lot of my friends were doing the same thing I was doing. Through the laughing and
the that was awesome dude I became addicted to trying new things and taking risks. I began to try
more and more, than, an opportunity came up to do a 13 day hiking trip in the very small town of
cimarron new mexico at the foothills of the rocky mountains, I definitely took the chance to do that.
Through all of the money I spent on gear and all of the training I put in so I would survive the trip was
definitely worth it. Prior to this trip I never would have thought it possible for me to climb an actual
mountain. Looking over the world at over 12,000 ft is the most exhilarating experience I have had the

Concept And Measurement Of Poverty
2.0: Introduction:
This part reviews some of the available literature on concepts, theories and previous research findings
pertaining to the research problem so as to establish the theoretical and empirical base of the study.
Literature review is used by the researcher to bring the reader update with current literature on a topic
and forms the base for another goal, such as future research that may be needed in the area. It is also
used to provide solid background information under the study. The literature reviews aims at finding
the gap between what other authors have explained theoretically and empirically and what has not
been explained. The knowledge gap needs to be established and fitted by the researcher.
2.1: Concept and Measurement of poverty
2.1.1: Definition of poverty
Poverty of an individual or household is defined as a state of having an income or consumption
expenditure which is below a certain level/standard known as the poverty line (Bigsten ; Abebe,
2003). Townsend (1985) defined poverty as not only a failure to meet minimum nutrition levels but
also as a failure to keep with a standard of living prevailing in the society. Thus according to
Townsend a household is considered as being poor if and only if its standard of living is below that of
the society. Poverty on the other hand can be observed as the condition of a household being unable to
meet basic needs including food, shelter, education etc. (World Bank, 1996).
According to the economist a household

Janis Ian Literary Devices
In the excerpt we got to hear about Janis Ian s experience, about how much hate she got during her
concert in 1960th. People yelled words like Nigger lover at her. It was hard to accept the black people
in the 60 s people didn t like her song, because of the interracial relationship was considered as an
outrageous thing. Her style of writing bears on her way of thinking. It is very personal and gets
influenced by her thoughts. She seems trustworthy because of her utilize of credibility in the way she
speaks to the reader, and also her knowledge as she had experience it on her own, which is ethos. Janis
also appeals to pathos; she writes for instance I could feel tears welling up my eyes , Just the thought
of going back on stage with those people still in the audience was enough to put me in a state of panic

A hero doesn t give up, which Janis didn t do either in the end. Janis uses literary devices in orders for
instance: I was singing, I was fifteen, I was having a record etc. By using these techniques is to make
the reader more at home, as if she was writing directly to the readers themselves. She also uses
anaphors and repetitions which magnifies her message and enhance her opinions Yes, I was going to
stand for that Of course I was going to stand for it The intention behind this story must be the moral of
it. The theme is to believe in yourself and stand by your principles. Even though she feels everything
is against her, she decided to go back and sing even though she didn t want to. She had something in
her, that was more important than to be scared, and that was to be a hero, a hero for herself because
heroism was something she had in her family. She is a brave young girl because it takes a lot of
courage to stand by something other people might don t like, and especially the racism in

The Last Samurai Cultural Context
The cultural context of the film The Last Samurai affects the characters values, attitudes and beliefs,
as the character Nathan Algren is shaped by the American cultural context of the film. His values and
attitudes concerning beheading and his attitude towards his involvement in American Indian wars are
explored in the film. The American cultural context of the film has shaped Algren s values about
beheading. Algren does not understand why the samurai believed in the beheading of a disgraced
person as Katsumoto beheaded General Hasegawa in seppuku. Algren is shown to be appalled by this
as he said to Katsumoto They don t cut the heads off defeated kneeling men when discussing the
seppuku of General Hasegawa. Algren s view is shown shaped

Re-Priming Shot-Shell Primers
This week s chapter six over Reloading the shot shells seem to me almost the same as reloading a
regular rifle cartridge. There just more steps in the process eight totaling. Starting with step one being
de priming and resizing. Which is almost the same in reloading brass. Re shaping the shell back to the
proper dimensions and ejecting the once fired primer out of the shell. Be aware you should never de
prime live primers from hulls! when de priming the process could cause live primers to detonate. Step
two re priming the shell. With modern shot shell primers have been standardized to the No. 209 size,
but, be aware, just because they re there the same size, it doesn t mean they re identical in other
capacities. Primers are built with various levels of energy, and each load calls for specific primers. If
the primer is not fully seated and sticks out you should attempt to re prime again. Do not keep moving
forward in the loading process with a primer that is not fully seated. This step might also be one
reason shotgun re loaders prefer to use progressive press other that the amount of shells that can be
reloaded. In a progressive if the primer protrudes it will almost likely catch as the turret attempts to
rotate and prevent the shell from accessing the next station. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

With step four you start adding other steps that are not like reloading brass. Inserting a wad which
helps seals the gases to provide the pressure to push the charge out. Step five is dropping the shot
charge in the shell. It is important to keep an eye on the volume a projectile occupies inside the barrel
and not wholly fixate upon the projectile s weight. The principle behind stacking buckshot pellets is
that the greater the angle of surface contact between two pellets, the greater the tendency those pellets
will impart energy in that

Positive Reflection On Divorce
Linda is a 36 year old newly divorced woman. Her early childhood experiences include her parents
divorce. Due to her parents divorce and the following feelings of pressure to conform and agree to
each parent, Linda has developed strong beliefs about her life, particularly her marriage. These are
expressed through Linda s dislike of divorce and her desire to keep her children happy and innocent,
Linda feels that she has failed in both cases and feels guilty and responsible for failing . However,
Linda did admit that her mother s general disapproval and opinion that Linda was to blame for the
divorce may have influenced her thoughts. Due to the sudden divorced her (ex)husband has imposed,
Linda feels very confused and alone, and she has furthered that by sending her children away and not
clearing things with her husband. Linda also does not know how to move forward in her life, and is
hesitant to do anything if it may affect her children. As a result, Linda is very confused and mildly
frustrated with the situation. Linda recognises that her memories and previous feelings about parents
divorce may also be effecting her thoughts and feelings currently.
In reviewing my practice, I can see that I used several skills very well, in particular the use of
empathetic silences and positive reflection.
An example of the positive reflection is when the client described how her mother was less supportive
and blamed the client for the divorce, in response I said:
On the other hand, at least, your father, it sounds like he was very positive and supportive of you, like
her would be there for you...? (17:58). Linda response was Yeah, he was pretty great, and we just
talked about the future, and what I was going to do with my kids . Later in the practice (7:08) after the
client expressed feelings of helplessness, I asked her As you said, you ve been through something
similar, did you pick up an activities that helped? in response she talked about drawing and about her
friends being supportive. I used empathetic silences regularly throughout the practice, especially in the
beginning of the video from 00:41 3:33 where I allowed the client to talk introduce her original reason
for coming, and again at 10:00 to 10:50,

Shirley Jackson s Perception Of Nature
Shirley Jackson creates an atmosphere of a gloomy, dark, mysteriously fantastical wood through the
twisted encounters of Christopher and the woods and dark interactions between man and nature to
show the effects of the real world on the perception of nature. Christopher is walking through the
woods for days on end with no plan, no end point. His interactions with nature show his apparent
hatred and bitter attitude toward it. Wearily moving his feet because he had nothing else to do,
Christopher went on down the road, hating the trees that moved slowly against his progress, hating the
dust beneath his feet, hating the sky, hating this road, (Jackson 1). Jackson repeatedly utilizes the word
hate in a variety of forms to portray Christopher as teenager of young adult full of animosity towards
all aspects of nature. The sky, the dust, the trees and more are all parts of nature and all things that
Christopher seems to be very upset over. Jackson also uses the word wearily, to describe Christopher s
emotion ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Christopher approached the house as he would any house, farmhouse, suburban home, or city
apartment, and knocked politely and with pleasure on the warm front door. Come in then, a woman
said as she opened it, and Christopher stepped inside... (Jackson 2). Jackson introduces the woman
who answered the door so subtly it seems as though the stone house was subconsciously Christopher s
intended destination. Christopher doesn t even have to say anything; his knock on the door prompted
the woman, Phyllis, to open the door and nonchalantly invites him to come in as though she was
expecting a guest. Christopher s interpretation of the picturesque stone house being encroached on by
the mass of trees surrounding the perimeter shows his interaction with nature and reinforces his
paranoid feelings towards

the campaign deliver the leads to meet the expectations set at the point of sale. We tracked this as the
% of Advertiser accounts that are on target for lead delivery, Traffic Acquisition Costs (TACs) and
Delta between # of actual leads delivered from the # of expected leads. My task was to figure out how
to reduce this Delta and deliver the leads to the Advertisers with minimizing TACs. Traditionally, most
SEM products focus on only Google SEM spend. To deliver on the KPIs, initially, I proposed the idea
of procuring leads from several Ad Sources. YP has several sources of leads from both external
sources like Google/Yahoo/Bing/Facebook and internal sources from our direct traffic on

Attend Spelman College As One Of Many Decisions
Choosing to attend Spelman College as one of many decisions I have to make as a student was an easy
task. Ever since I can remember, one of my biggest aspirations was to be accepted to and attend
Spelman College. Through the years, Spelman women in my life have demonstrated their commitment
to uplifting children, families and the community. Considering that Spelman is a liberal arts college
that provides an intimate and nurturing environment, I have no doubt that it will provide the tools I
need to be successful. Because I have identified several tools given to me and that I am aware of my
purpose, I can now set goals. My most immediate short term goals as a college student include:
becoming proficient at balancing my time well, soaking up the information that I am being taught,
making great grades, serving my community, traveling and studying abroad, and attaining internships
and scholarships. Currently I am enrolled in 8 classes, and/or pursuing 19 hours of credit as a first year
semester student. I also am apart of two extracurricular activities on campus. I often times find myself
frustrated that I did not interpret the wise words of Dr. Burnett, The choices that you make course by
course, semester by semester determine what your final outcome will be. as words of urgency and
direction. I am not sure why I felt that I needed to be superwoman and put all of those things on my
plate. However as a result of my aspirations for the superwoman complex, I have

A Review of the Biomechanics Involved in Soccer Kicking a ball is a fundamental movement that
most individuals have learned to do since taking their first steps. However, kicking in the sport of

The placement of the non kicking foot determines the direction of the kick. The support leg also acts
as a stabilizer by flexing at the knee once the foot makes contact with the ground. (Lees, Asai,
Andersen, Nunome Sterzing, 2010) Pictured below in Figures 1 and 2 are two different athletes with
very diverse abilities. You can see both the direction of the planted foot and the flexion of the knee in
both players.

The Number Of Obese People
The number of obese people in America is growing at a rate of two in every three people being
overweight or obese. Over 68% of American adults are considered overweight or obese. What exactly
is causing this tragically large result? Studies have shown that nutrition, overeating and lack of
exercise are few factors contributing to this. People need to start caring about their health before it s
too late. Embarrassingly, America s love for fattening food isn t a secret. A French traveler said There
is food hypocrisy. Someone will go into a restaurant and not eat the yellow of the eggs because they
think it s unhealthy, but then drink a huge soda . Society is labeled by the food we eat due to the
amount of grease and sugar it contains. Soda is one of the main causes for the large amount of sugar in
American s diets. An industry report has shown that 8.9 billion cases of soda were sold last year. The
food American s eat is terrible but the amount is even worse. Portioning is extremely important to
avoid extra calories that won t be worked off. Using the serving size listed will manage how much you
re consuming. Overeating can double the amount of calories you re eating compared to what your
normal intake should be. Obesity is a high concern with people that over eat. Everyone has heard the
saying You are what you eat , but the meaning might stand for more than what people comprehend.

The Hungry King George Chapter Summary
The story, The Hungry, Hungry King George represents a brief summary of the events that led up to
the American Revolutionary War. After the Seven Years Was (also known as the French and Indian
War) King George III needed a significant amount of money as he was in debt. This idea is depicted in
the story as his ongoing hunger , or need to pay this debt, that cannot be satisfied. Throughout the
story, the phrase But, he was still hungry is continuously repeated to demonstrate the amount of taxes
and restraints that were placed on the colonist under the rule of King George III. This can also be
discerned from the illustrations in the book. There are two major aspects that signify this: the
increasing amount of King George s gold and his expanding waistline. King George s weight ... Show

For example, the Boston Massacre, where five colonists were killed by British soldiers after the
colonist started throwing snowballs at the soldiers, was left out (Holguin). In addition, the battles of
the war, such as the Battle of Concord or the critical Battle of Saratoga, were not included, but can be
surmised, to keep the story concise and to hold the attention of the younger readers (Holguin).
Although it can be inferred, The Hungry, Hungry King George did not directly identify how the
colonist retaliated, through boycotts and other events, against the King and the British Parliament
before the war occurred. One example of this is displayed through the Colonist s Boston Tea Party
where they dressed up as Native Americans and dumped 18 thousand pounds of Tea into the Boston
Harbor (Independence Hall Association). It is also important to note that this story can be a highly
subjective view as it is from the perspective of the colonist only and excludes other major viewpoints
of the war/(altercations between the colonies and the

Poem, Hanging Fire, By Audre Lorde And The Waiting Room By...
I read the poems, Hanging Fire by Audre Lorde and In the Waiting Room by Elizabeth Bishop.
Hanging Fire was written in 1997 and In the Waiting Room was written in 1979. After reading each of
them carefully, I noticed that the poems contained similarities as well as differences. Hanging Fire
features a fourteen year old girl who discusses her thoughts and concerns directly with the audience.
She talks about various things as she moves from one topic to another randomly. For instance, the
fourteen year old girl is concerned about her visual identity such as braces and ashy knees. Suddenly,
she is contemplating about serious concerns like death. In the first stanza, she states that she is in love
with an immature boy who still sucks his thumb in private, worried about her skin condition as her skin
has betrayed her, and worried about dying when she says, what if I die/before morning (Line 8 9). In
the second stanza, she goes on to tell us that she feels inadequate from a social perspective. She says
that she wants to learn to dance in order to fit in. However, she also indicates that she doesn t want to
learn. Those things along with too much/that has to be done, imply that she is overwhelmed and she
needs guidance (Line 20 21). However, that much needed guidance isn t there as her mamma is in the
bedroom/ with the door closed (Line 10 11). The third stanza starts off with Nobody even stops to
think/about my side of it (Line 24 25). Through those lines,

  • 2. Essay on Managed Care and Utilization Management Utilization management is described as the implementation of guidelines which reduce unnecessary use of medical resources (Kongstvedt, 2007, p.190). There are a variety of methods used to ensure costs are kept at a minimum without compromising patient care. The use of utilization management (UM) are yielding financial benefits resulting in managed care organizations (MCOs) and facilities investing more into UM programs. Health maintenance organization s (HMOs) use of the primary care physician (PCP) as the gatekeeper initially had MCOs view restrictions as a negative approach to patients choices. However, some necessary steps have started to be implemented which reduce unnecessary utilization by enforcing some restrictions. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Self care and medical consumerism programs are also a part of DM. They provide member with access to medical information that will assist them in caring for themselves and knowing when to consult a professional. These programs are now an accreditation standard for health plans by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) as they promote consumer directed health (CDH). The benefits of self care programs show $2.50 to $3.50 saved for every $1 invested by health plans. A HMO study done showed a decrease in outpatient visits as well as a 2:1 return (Kongstvedt, 2007, p.192). Another different study showed a decrease in pediatric acute care visits also. Other programs under DM that have shown to be beneficial to both the members and the health plans are, shared decision making programs and medical informatics. PPOs, HMOs and CDHPs have preventive services programs being implemented. Preventive services include services such as: immunizations, mammograms, physicals, and counseling. An independent study on an indemnity plan that had prenatal preventive services showed that members who enrolled into this program had an average of $3200 less per delivery than those who had not (p.194). • 3. The Importance Of Street Culture In El Barrio There is an area in NYC named El Barrio within El Barrio there is a large group of working class Puerto Rican residents living their lives but struggling with facing street cultural and their ethnic background. Living in harsh situations put a toll on the residents that were trying to live and make it out. In El Barrio, street culture is clustered and influential and is challenging for them to continue the traditional Puerto Rican culture. In this paper, I agree that street culture has a significant impact on the resident than their traditional Puerto Rican culture, I demonstrate by looking at their jobs, relationships, drug usage. Also, looking at substantial, significant residents Primo for a male aspect, Candy for a female perspective, but connect to the whole community in El Barrio. I believe this is significant because these are the three main topics that was brought up also the two main voices for each gender, which helps the reader read about the unique way street culture had started to have more of an influence of tradition. Jobs had a significant factor on the residents in El Barrio and is profoundly affected by the street culture. First, the traditional way Puerto Ricans found jobs were in the nearby factories. It was a trade that they learned, and they stayed at for years many never left. Even though working conditions were not high and most worked as assembly line work they stayed with it. There were benefits to working for decent pay, overtime. It was common ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Role Of Women s Sexuality In Romantic Films Pressure on Women s Sexuality Another issue women audience members have to deal with while watching rom coms is sexuality. Sex sells, honey and it knows no boundaries certainly not in certain chick flicks. Audiences of both genders are hardly immune to the commercial powers of oversexualization. (Thompson,45). Many different genres of film have sexual themes in their plot. Chick flick share this in common with other films. Hollywood knows what makes money in the movie industry and one the biggest is selling sex to the audience. In romantic comedies, all the actors are some of the most beautiful people you have ever seen. Looks matter so much in these films. Essay thomas eakins Thomas Eakins nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Thomas Eakins was born on July 25, 1844, in Philadelphia, and with the exception of four years of study in Paris and Spain, the city remained his home. Its school, public and private art collections, and community of artists, many of whom were recent emigrants from Europe trained in the academic tradition and familiar with new artistic styles, provided Eakins with an unusually wide ranging art education for an American artist of his day. nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; When Eakins arrived in Paris in 1866 to continue his art studies, he was in the vanguard of young artists who would revolutionize American art over the next two decades, breaking away from the literalism of Hudson River School ... He had used photographs from the other sources as aids for his painting in the 1870 s, but the acquisition of his own camera inspired a period of intensive investigation of photography as a tool for making art. Eakins made scores of photographs as studies for a group of major paintings, among them Mending the Net, Swimming, and Cowboys in the Bad Lands. He also told students in his academy to take pictures to help them. nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Following Eakins dismissal, thirty eight of his male students resigned from the Academy and formed the Art Students League of Philadelphia, providing him with a new forum for his life classes. He also taught at various art schools in New York, including the Art Students League, the Women s Art School of the Cooper Union, and the National Academy of Design. nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;In 1890 s began a series of disappointments for Eakins. He submitted The Agnew Clinic to the Pennsylvania Academy s annual exhibition of 1891, but the work was rejected on a technicality. • 6. Warehouse 13 Research Paper During this summer, my friends recommended that I watch Warehouse 13 since I m fond of science fiction movies, television shows, and books. However, I was astonished that I truly enjoyed the first four seasons. I have seen many episodes of Doctor Who, Supernatural, and The X Files and I was unsatisfied there was an abundance of episodes. In all honesty, I won t be able to catch up on those shows. On the other hand, Warehouse 13 is distinctive, this show only had five seasons and around sixty episodes. They only lasted about forty minutes each so I finished the series in two weeks because the show only lasted five years. I appreciate this show because Warehouse 13 filmed an episode based off of Indiana Jones. No doubt Indiana Jones movies are better, but Warehouse 13 was practically featured in the movies. Warehouse 13 took the idea of the warehouse in Indiana Jones but made the show their own. I determined that the characters, setting, and plot made me cherish this show. ... • 7. Holmes Sheppard Case Why does a trial get a retrial when the first trial served justice? Dr. Samuel Holmes Sheppard was born in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1923. He studied at Hanover College and Western Reserve University. Sheppard pursued careers in medicine. He got married in 1945 to his high school girlfriend, Marilyn. After a few years of their marriage, they returned back to Cleveland, Ohio. Until July 4, 1954, they lived a charmed life in a wealthy neighbourhood. Then suddenly on July 4, 1954, Marilyn was found dead in their bedroom. This case is known as one of the longest running and most sensationalized court cases in the United States history because of the elements of doubt within the case. Dr. Sheppard was convicted of the murder. In the first trial, he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Firstly, prosecution didn t realize about phone calling his friend when Sheppard can check the pulse by himself. Even though he is a doctor, why would he call his friend to check whether she died or not? It doesn t matter what kind of doctor you are, all the doctors were trained the basic things such as checking pulse. For me, I learned it when I was in 8th grade, so Sheppard should know it. This shows that he knew she died, but he called his friend, so in case if gets in trouble, his friend s testimony can save him. Secondly, neither the defense nor the prosecution brought up about his make up stories. In the article by Larkin, B, from Speaking up for Marilyn in the 60 year old Sam Sheppard murder case stated that when Sheppard was making alibis to walk away when he got arrested. However, in the second trial, no one brought it up. When Sheppard was arrested he said that there was blushy haired killed her. However, there wasn t any damaged in the house. Unfortunately, no one brought this up. Thirdly, the defense counsel didn t let Sheppard to testify because Sheppard s Cool, pedantic style did not make a good impressions with the 1954 trial. • 8. Foils In Romeo And Juliet What is a foil? Right away some may think of the aluminum sheets to cover or make things out of. When thinking of a foil in the literature language, it creates a whole different mindset. A foil is when two characters personalities are completely opposite from one another to accentuate each other. William Shakespeare, writer of the love story Romeo and Juliet uses foils greatly among the Montagues and Capulets. The Montagues and Capulets are the two families who have a rivalry with each other. Their hate for each other causes a lot of unnecessary drama especially when it comes between the love of young Romeo and sweet Juliet. Foils do make the story more interesting to show how one can change another with a different personality. Mercutio ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Chase’s Strategy for Syndicating the Hong Kong Disneyland... 1. Chase should have bid for the loan mandate in such a way to maximize the investment fee income after controlling for risks involved, and the client s preferences for syndicated loan. Thus. Chase faced a trade off between Risks and rewards. We have to weigh out the risks with rewards as below Risks Involved Credit and Downgrade risk This arises from the level of exposure that Chase would take in the HK$3.3 billion loan. Usually they put a limit of 10%. Thus Chase had to bid in such a way to have greater co operation from syndicating partners so as to reduce the resulting loan exposure by way of spreading the risk with other players Underwriting risk The risk that the issue may be undersubscribed leading to Chase taking up ... Thus a competitive but less profitable bid could result in more profitable bid in future The market flex clause effectively reduces Chase s underwriting risk and gives them room to reduce underwriting fees and be competitive. Thus, Chase must bid to win, and set a competitive underwriting fee and an option to syndicate for the risk and rewards discussed above. 2. We would recommend Disney to sign Chase´s standard commitment letter because, by doing so, Disney would increase the probability of a successful closure of the project. If the situation changes adversely for Chase, the bank has the possibility of renegotiating some aspects of the contract instead of pulling out and ruin the execution of the project. This also gives Disney the power to negotiate for a lower underwriting fees However, Disney might be concerned because The market flex terms which give Chase the possibility of changing the contract without the borrower ´s consent. In the clause is written that changes would be done after consultation with Disney but this term could be confusing. Moreover, the standard contract is vague in conditions under which Chase would apply triggering clauses. • 13. What Was The Role Of Counterculture In The 1960 s Straying away from the mainstream can be difficult unless there is a group of people with a common interest that brings them together. The 1960s was a time of not only prominent mainstream culture but also counterculture. The mainstream culture was notably defined by four different concepts that connected white middle and upper class Americans: Patriotism, believing in the institution of marriage, the American dream, and the idea that conformity kept society ordered. In contrast, the counterculture of the time went against all of these ideals, believing in rejecting traditional American society by dropping out and forming communes, taking part in free love, and the rebellion against conformity and materialism. Younger Dryas Impact Hypothesis Younger Dryas Climate Event Occurring about 12,800 years ago, The Younger Dryas Climate Event was an abrupt climate change that dropped the Earth temperature by about 10 degrees, bringing dry winds ( Abrupt Climate Change , 2003). This event followed a warming trend that had resulted in glacier melting. As the melting water filtered down the Mississippi and into the Gulf of Mexico, its route suddenly diverted, carrying the water east into the Atlantic Ocean. This change in the water path disrupted both the salinity and the flow in the ocean system, thus changing the climate of the Northern region. One critique of this hypothesis is that no crater has been found on Earth s surface; however, it is likely that the comet hit the glacier, which ultimately melted and left no physical sign. • 32. Attend Spelman College As One Of Many Decisions Choosing to attend Spelman College as one of many decisions I have to make as a student was an easy task. Ever since I can remember, one of my biggest aspirations was to be accepted to and attend Spelman College. Through the years, Spelman women in my life have demonstrated their commitment to uplifting children, families and the community. Considering that Spelman is a liberal arts college that provides an intimate and nurturing environment, I have no doubt that it will provide the tools I need to be successful. Because I have identified several tools given to me and that I am aware of my purpose, I can now set goals. My most immediate short term goals as a college student include: becoming proficient at balancing my time well, soaking up the information that I am being taught, making great grades, serving my community, traveling and studying abroad, and attaining internships and scholarships. Currently I am enrolled in 8 classes, and/or pursuing 19 hours of credit as a first year semester student. I also am apart of two extracurricular activities on campus. I often times find myself frustrated that I did not interpret the wise words of Dr. Burnett, The choices that you make course by course, semester by semester determine what your final outcome will be. as words of urgency and direction. I am not sure why I felt that I needed to be superwoman and put all of those things on my plate. However as a result of my aspirations for the superwoman complex, I have ... • 35. The Hungry King George Chapter Summary The story, The Hungry, Hungry King George represents a brief summary of the events that led up to the American Revolutionary War. After the Seven Years Was (also known as the French and Indian War) King George III needed a significant amount of money as he was in debt. This idea is depicted in the story as his ongoing hunger , or need to pay this debt, that cannot be satisfied. Throughout the story, the phrase But, he was still hungry is continuously repeated to demonstrate the amount of taxes and restraints that were placed on the colonist under the rule of King George III. This can also be discerned from the illustrations in the book. There are two major aspects that signify this: the increasing amount of King George s gold and his expanding waistline. King George s weight ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, the Boston Massacre, where five colonists were killed by British soldiers after the colonist started throwing snowballs at the soldiers, was left out (Holguin). In addition, the battles of the war, such as the Battle of Concord or the critical Battle of Saratoga, were not included, but can be surmised, to keep the story concise and to hold the attention of the younger readers (Holguin). Although it can be inferred, The Hungry, Hungry King George did not directly identify how the colonist retaliated, through boycotts and other events, against the King and the British Parliament before the war occurred. One example of this is displayed through the Colonist s Boston Tea Party where they dressed up as Native Americans and dumped 18 thousand pounds of Tea into the Boston Harbor (Independence Hall Association). It is also important to note that this story can be a highly subjective view as it is from the perspective of the colonist only and excludes other major viewpoints of the war/(altercations between the colonies and the ... • 36. After reading each of them carefully, I noticed that the poems contained similarities as well as differences. Hanging Fire features a fourteen year old girl who discusses her thoughts and concerns directly with the audience. She talks about various things as she moves from one topic to another randomly. For instance, the fourteen year old girl is concerned about her visual identity such as braces and ashy knees. Suddenly, she is contemplating about serious concerns like death. In the first stanza, she states that she is in love with an immature boy who still sucks his thumb in private, worried about her skin condition as her skin has betrayed her, and worried about dying when she says, what if I die/before morning (Line 8 9). In the second stanza, she goes on to tell us that she feels inadequate from a social perspective. She says that she wants to learn to dance in order to fit in. However, she also indicates that she doesn t want to learn. Those things along with too much/that has to be done, imply that she is overwhelmed and she needs guidance (Line 20 21). However, that much needed guidance isn t there as her mamma is in the bedroom/ with the door closed (Line 10 11). The third stanza starts off with Nobody even stops to think/about my side of it (Line 24 25). Through those lines, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
