I have always been a visual learner. That is why I am great at Math: Teachers usually work with the
student, writing the problems on the board and solving them. It is the opposite for English: English
teachers do not give examples of how to write or put ideas together. Watching someone do something
is easier for me. That is how I learned to cook at such a young age.
As a child, my parents never physically taught me how to cook. I would watch my Mom and Dad
cook dishes that are native to them. I would watch my Dad make Adobo, filling the air with a lovely
smell of salt and vinegar. I would watch my Mom make Pozole, moving in the kitchen like Taz, never
