Argument Essay Sample Papers
Crafting an essay on the topic "Argument Essay Sample Papers" can prove to be a challenging
endeavor. The difficulty arises from the need to strike a delicate balance between presenting a
compelling argument and providing concrete examples. It requires a thorough understanding of
the subject matter, the ability to critically analyze information, and the skill to articulate thoughts
coherently.
To begin with, selecting appropriate sample papers for analysis demands a keen eye for relevant
sources and a comprehensive understanding of the underlying arguments. The writer must
navigate through a plethora of material, ranging from academic articles to opinion pieces, to find
examples that not only support their position but also add depth to the overall discourse.
Structuring the essay poses another challenge. Crafting a clear and logical argument necessitates
careful organization of ideas and evidence. Each paragraph must seamlessly flow into the next,
forming a cohesive narrative that guides the reader through the complexities of the chosen topic.
This demands a high level of clarity in thought and the ability to convey complex concepts in a
digestible manner.
Furthermore, ensuring the essay is persuasive and compelling requires a deep understanding of
rhetorical techniques. The writer must employ strategies such as ethos, logos, and pathos to
appeal to the reader's emotions, logic, and credibility. Balancing these elements is an art that
requires both skill and practice.
In addition to the writing process itself, time management is a critical factor. Researching,
outlining, drafting, revising, and proofreading all demand a significant investment of time.
Meeting deadlines becomes a juggling act, especially when dealing with multiple assignments or
other academic obligations.
In conclusion, tackling an essay on "Argument Essay Sample Papers" involves navigating a
complex landscape of research, organization, persuasion, and time management. It requires a
blend of analytical thinking, writing proficiency, and dedication. However, for those who find
themselves overwhelmed, it's worth noting that assistance is available. Similar essays and a

Rules Of The Game, Fish Cheeks, And Two Kinds
In Amy tans short stories Rules of the Game, Fish Cheeks, and Two Kinds part of the
novel the Joys Luck Club uses topics concerning the limits and connections in the
relationships between mothers and their daughters. In an Asian society, especially
Chinese society assumes a vital part in every one of the three short stories, giving the
primary conflict an interesting plot. Amy Tans short stories for the most part depict
the inconveniences and strain between Chinese immigrant moms and their
Americanized daughters through their common experiences in a captivating way.
The daughters disregard the Chinese part of their heritage and personality and grasp
the American side. They ponder their adolescence up with solid order and desires that
the greater part of them have not met prompting future blame. Presently as developed
ladies with their own particular families, the Americanized daughters mirror the past
with contradictions they had with their Chinese society. Every daughter in the story s
in the long run perceives how their tradition and generation had huge influence in
forming their characters making them grasp their Chinese legacy.
Amy Ruth Tan was born in Oakland, California, on February 19, 1952. Her father
was a Chinese born Baptist minister; her mom was the daughter of an upper class
family in Shanghai, China. Throughout Amy tans childhood, Tan struggled with her
parent s desire to hold onto Chinese traditions and expectations and her own beliefs
and desire to become
Faith and Doubt in the Poetry of Gerard Manley Hopkins
Essay
Gerard Manley Hopkins had eight siblings and was born of Manley and Catherine
Smith Hopkins. His parents were Anglicans that followed the Catholic tradition in
sacraments and papacy. By instilling the theological values, faith and morals into
Gerard, he became heavily influenced by his family. His parents taught him, as well
as their other children to love God. Gerard guaranteed his mother that he would
strengthen his connection with God and familiarize himself with the Scripture, so
Gerard began to read the New Testament at school. Manley, his father, was an officer
of the laity and helped out at the Church. He taught children at the Sunday school
including his own son Gerard. Other relatives influenced his faith, too. His uncle was

As Gerard searched for an authoritative religion while he was in Oxford, he became
captivated by John Henry Newman. He saw the Newman converted from the
Anglican Church to the Catholic Church and that grabbed his attention. After
understanding Newman s choice he himself also converted to Catholicism in
1866. By 1888 Gerard had joined the Society of Jesus, which is a clergy order
founded by St. Ignatius of Loyola. The Society of Jesus Order concentrates mainly
on theological scholarship and spreading the values of faith. On his journey to
become a Jesuit priest Gerard gave up on poetry. He believed that expressing
himself through poetry was being too original. Hopkins did not want his love of
poetry to draw attention. To prevent his personal goal from diverging him from
becoming a Jesuit priest, he sacrificed his passion and burned his early poems.
Before I became Catholic and I only thought about what it would be like, I had the
habit of crossing myself whenever I prayed. Whenever I saw the homeless man on
my way home from school I would cross myself, saying a prayer for him. My
mother would usually interrupt. Eventually, she started teasing me for it. It was not
mean or unbearable just a little tease where she would ask me why I crossed myself,
just little things. This nitpicking was not so much of a problem for me. Another time
at my mom s Seventh Day Adventist Church people stared at me because I crossed
myself. They did not
The Argument For The Existence Of God
My paper scrutinizes numerous logical disputes for and alongside the presence of
God. I shall argue that there s no adequate evidence or inclusive arguments for the
existence of God. It is grounded on the views of certain great philosophers and
scientists of all of mankind.
Generally speaking for myself, I would correspond to have faith that there is God .
Regrettably, it s awfully well defined that the being built up on insightful faith is no
longer a suitable custom to shadow. During the course, I expected to learn some
type of proof with the intention of upholding a course of the belief in a God
implanted in me by my parents. Sadly, this wasn t the case. It could have been fine if
the ontological, theological, or cosmological argument could have related itself to the
experimental world with a God outside this world, but they are unable too. The
ontological argument failed because it was only a misleading piece of terms that
couldn t prolong into actuality. The teleological argumentexpressed unsupported
inferences from similarities of experiential remark and materialists supplied other
possibilities that are reasonably legal. The cosmological argument failed as well since
it not once understandably argued the making of the universe. There are many
amazing individuals who ve consumed an immense sum of time in studying the
Bible. Brilliant philosophers like Plato, Paley, Socrates, Descartes, Aristotle, have
made arguments whether god truly exists. We must understand

Essay On Jfk Assassination
There have been many tragedies in our American history. However, as many would
agree, there was no tragedy greater than the one that occurred on November 22nd
1963, the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. The Warren Commission
released the official report including the person they believe to be the killer and the
evidence found in order to support this, but it does not end there. Due to the
deductions the House Select Committee of Assassinations conducted, many believe
the tragedy that occurred that late November was a conspiracy. Did Lee Harvey
Oswaldkill President Kennedy, as reported by the Warren Commission? Or, is there a
deeper and more disturbing reality behind this tragedy? This is an issue that is
discussed by researchers,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of those buildings is the previous Texas School Book Depository, from which,
as stated in the Warren Report, Oswald fired a rifle and shot Kennedy. To the west
of the plaza is a triple passageway underneath a railroad bridge, where the
motorcade sped after the shots were fired. Kennedy was not the only victim during
the shooting but Texas Governor John Connally was wounded with the second
shot (Rubinstein), who recollected seeing a lump of President Kennedy s brain
fall onto his pants. The Warren Commission conducted the magic bullet theory in
which, before entering Connally s back, one of the bullets penetrated Kennedy s
neck, went through the chest, passed through his right wrist and punctured his left
thigh. However, Connally disagreed with this theory. According to a handful of
witnesses, there are three possibilities of where these bullets came from. Many
believe the bullets came from the sixth floor of the Book Depository, also known
as sniper s lair . Others believe bullets came from grassy knoll and some suppose
the bullets came from both locations. The window in which Oswald allegedly shot
the president is on the sixth floor of the Book Depository and has boxes stacked on
each other in order to steady the rifle for aim. There is a perfect view of where the
president was shot, and a rifle and bullets were later found in the room. The grassy
knoll is a slight, inclined mound inside the plaza and was
The Development And Development Of The Greek And
Greek Empire
The Roman Republic and Empire was one of the largest civilisations in the world.
A significant question posed is how and why did the Roman Republic and Empire
develop in the ways they did and interact with the Persian and Greek/Hellenic
Empires? At the height of the Roman Empire it spanned across western Europe,
and encompassed the entire Mediterranean. Lasting and developing through
thousands of years, the Romans encountered and interacted with the Persian and
Greek/Hellenic Empires. This included trading, co existing, and going to war with
one another. Although, originally the Roman Republic and Empire was first
founded by the Etruscan people. Established in 753 BCE by a Etruscan colony on
the River Tiber in Italy, the city was controlled by Etruscan Kings until 509 BCE.
Whence the people rose up against the monarchy to establish the Roman Republic,
and fought for control of central Italy for the next 30 years. (Dr David Lundberg,
2017, pp.6 7) Thus the Roman Republic became a contending force in Western
Europe, and across the Mediterranean for the next 450 years. (J.M.Roberts Odd
Arne Westad, 2013, p.218) Instead of a king, two consuls and an assembly of
elected magistrates were installed to rule the Roman Republic. Before a new set of
consuls, and new magistrates were elected by the citizens each year. Additionally,
legislative and consultative bodies were elected as Tribunes of the people, who
managed the affairs of the government and managed conflicts that arose
Dystopian Society In Ayn Rand s Anthem
The juxtaposition of the society in Anthem with today s society is surprisingly
terrifying. The dystopian society in Anthem promotes the ideology of collectivism
and the oppression of individualism with resemblance to how aspects of those ideas
are portrayed in our society. Anthem primarily focuses on a controlled society, yet our
society focuses on the competition of prosperity amongst the population. Using Ayn
Rands satiristic writing elements, the events in Anthem depict a correlation to today s
society, confirming Rand s warnings to the ignorant public. An important aspect of
this novel is the description of how the children are awarded a vocation. Equality 7

The Psydiscipline Of The Sapir-Whorf Exphesis
In linguistics, one of the most important and most controversial, so to speak is the
Sapir Whorf hypothesis. This blog post is going to focus on this hypothesis.
Language is not thought
Before anything else, we need to establish one thing: language is not thought, just as
well that heaven is not hell. One might say that he is thinking using words and
sentences, but this is not the case.
I, for one, had always believed that I think using words. But this article from
Science 2.0 let me know that thoughts are not words and vice versa. Also, we
watched a video clip in class wherein Steven Pinker, a Harvard professor, explained
that language is different from thought, writing and grammar.
I want to highlight this paragraph from the Science 2.0 article by ... Show more

However language and thought are connected. We have a subdiscipline for that,
called psycholinguistics. This subdiscipline is concerned with the relation of
cognition and language.
We are yet to discuss this topic so forgive me for my lack of knowledge.
The Sapir Whorf hypothesis
We may have said that cognition is not the same as language, but according to
Edward Sapir and Benjamin Lee Whorf, language affects a person s thoughts. To
make it formal, the definition given by dictionary.com might be useful:
[The Sapir Whorf theory is] a theory developed by Edward Sapir and Benjamin Lee
Whorf that states that the structure of a language determines or greatly influences the
modes of thought and behavior characteristic of the culture in which it is spoken.
Linguistic relativism
This is the weaker form of the hypothesis and states that different languages encode
different categories. Therefore, speakers of different languages view the world in
different ways. I see that I need to provide concrete examples of this, and so I have
decided to includ evidences for linguistic relativism cited in Introduction to linguistics
by Fromkin et. al.

Comparing IFRS to GAAP
This paper looks at relevant comparisons of IFRS, International Financial Reporting
Standards and GAAP, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles . These two
frameworks of accounting principles and practices share a lot of standards and
procedures, but also differ on accepted policies. This paper will answer those
standards and differences but also show the comparison of the two.
Let s look at what ways does the format of a statement of financial or position under

U.S. GAAP allows for write downs to be made using categories of items and like
IFRS, does allow write downs to be performed on an item by item basis. When
certain conditions are met, IFRS allows inventories that were previously written
down to market value to be reversed. On the other hand, reversals of inventory write
downs are prohibited under any circumstances in U.S. GAAP. So we see the
similarities and also the differences in these two bodies on inventory postings.
Do the IFRS and GAAP conceptual frameworks differ in terms of the objective of
financial reporting? This would be a no because, GAAP and IFRS maintain very
perspectives on the neutrality of financial data. These influential groups agree that
financial reporting data should be relevant and authentically represented. Figures that
are important would be anything useful in the eye of an investor, creditor, or
regulator. Data that is faithfully represented should follow industry standards and
assessments have a duty to be conservative.
There are commonly used terms that are used under IFRS that are synonymous with
common stock and balance sheet. These terms are; Balance Sheet is synonymous
with the Statement of Financial Position and Common Stock is normally branded as

European Renaissance Research Paper
Many have argued about just what defined the Renaissance, be it the artwork, the
rulers, or the community of the era itself, but nothing compares to effect of literature
on the European Renaissance. Literature ingrained itself into the period by expanding
the populous view and their ability to access information, creating a more creative
and educated public. This, in turn, kick started multiple inventions, pieces of art, and
research that would change how we viewed the world forever. Johann Gutenberg is
presumed to be the inventor of the printing press, starting the first printing company
in the late 1430 s. Before the press, all books and other writings had been done by

Since telecom networks must be always on, it is critical to guarantee network service
availability with the minimum amount of resources. In this paper, we presented
XXX, our approach to provisioning availability in NFV. XXX provides a suite for
service providers to concisely describe a data center topology and estimate the
downtime distribution of a mapped SFC request. To reduce the running time of XXX,
we further proposed an optimization framework which estimates the minimum
amount of backup resources required to meet heterogeneous availability requirements
and showed an heuristic solution with a theoretical bound. Through evaluation with
data from production data centers, we demonstrated the effectiveness and efficiency
of our solutions. For the future work, we are expanding our optimization framework
to enable expedited estimations of the backup resource needed under other models of
VNF. On the other hand, the downtime estimation accuracy is heavily dependent on
the accuracy of the failure and repair distribution of each layer, including both
hardware and software. Therefore it is important to analyze system log data, extract
and model them using appropriate general

Case On Fire Of Amri Hospital
CASE ON FIRE IN AMRI HOSPITAL
Introduction to the Present Medical Care Scenario
Medical Care in our country has a few segment doing extremely well while the rest
are frayed and falling apart. Because of higher expense, millions of Indians cannot
avail basic medical facilities. All Indians having good pay have a right to be Healthy
and the rest simply suffer or die. The dreadful state of our government hospital, the
enormous fees charged by private doctors and the imbalance in the health care are
quite common. Nowadays hospitals are key actors in national health systems, and
invariably account for a large share of spending. As a result, the major stakeholders
such as governments, health professionals and communities are deeply concerned
about the hospitals functioning and its operations. Although the stakeholders may
have different priorities such as the quality of service, accountability of
responsibility, access to care and service to the public. Thus many challenging
agendas arise for the policy makers who are making an effort towards reshaping the
health systems and are faced with decision making problems regarding governing the
behavior and performance of hospitals. Proper corporate governance practices will
lead to better performance if it can be embedded into the organizational structure.

A New Methodology For Fingerprints
A New Methodology for Fingerprints The article I chose to research for my final
capstone project was an article that was published by the Forensic Science
International and was written by Helio Barros and Valter Stefani. The title of this
article is A New Methodology for the Visualization of Latent Fingermarks on the
Sticky Side of Adhesive Tapes Using Novel Fluorescent Dyes . A little bit of
abstract about what the paper and the experiments are about is that there are three
novel fluorescent dyes that were tested in numerous experiments for the detection of
latent fingerprints. These dyes were tested on different types of adhesive tapes that
varied in color. These dyes that were used are highly selective to fingerprints, do not

A method that is used today for the visualization of latent fingerprints is a process
of applying a dye called Crystal Violet. Crystal Violet reacts with the fatty acids and
lipids in your sweat and as a result it produces a purple color. Although this process
is used in the forensic science field today, it has its limitations. The intense purple
color of the dye sometimes results in the entire tape being stained and as a result the
entire fingerprint is ruined and can t be analyzed. The people in this article wanted to
find a better solution for the visualization of latent fingerprints that performed
better than the methods that we currently use today. This is where the introduction
of the new dyes comes into the article. The fluorescent dyes that are reported in this
article can overcome the limitations that we currently have with Crystal Violet and
other commercial dyes. The Fluorescent dyes that were used in the study in the
article are named HB 7, HB 9, and HB 11. All of these dyes were synthesized and
purified in a laboratory and are currently patent pending. All the dyes used in this
experiment are water soluble and fluorescent in the blue green region when exposed
to ultra violet light at 365nm. Alongside the dyes that were used in this study, four
different types of adhesive tapes were also used ranging from different colors. Tape

Two widely recognized alternative treatments for ADHD include cognitive therapy
and exercise. By itself or in combination, these alternatives may lead to an
improvement in the symptoms of the patient. Cognitive behavioral therapy involves
the restructuring of the patient s mind, working to eliminate faulty behavioral
patterns and negative thoughts. The therapist works with the patient to identify both
the thoughts and the behaviors that are causing distress, and to change those thoughts
in order to readjust the behavior. (NHS Choices, n.d.) This process is like taking a
book, tearing out the last few chapters, and replacing them with new material in order
to change the outcome. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a collaborative, action

children and also show the patients how to cope with any emotional toll this mental
disorder has wrought upon them.
While a successful option for some patients, cognitive behavioral therapy may not be
appropriate for other patients. Specifically, patients who are cognitively compromised
or psychotic are not potential candidates. In addition, patients who cannot commit

The fixed cost of designing chips, building state of the art semiconductor
fabrication plants along with the specter of diminishing unit volumes of RISC
chips increased the prices of RISC chips rapidly and thus became unattractive. This
situation exacerbated RISC UNIX computers manufacturers to withstand the
competition in the market. In addition to the cost of building, software
applications development had become more costly because of the RISC/UNIX
volume base and the need to port software to each UNIX version. Considering the
above factors, HP joined with Intel in development of IA 64 architecture. Merced

Malformations In Rickets
Rickets is a skeletal disorder, usually in children, that causes bones to become
softer and weaker due to prolonged Vitamin D deficiency. Not having enough
Vitamin D in your diet makes it problematic to get enough calcium and phosphorus

the rickets will generally correct itself. However, if this disease is diagnosed from

Simone De Beauvoir And Frantz Fanon
Simone de Beauvoir and Frantz Fanon were both interested in the experiences of
marginalized groups, women and black men respectively. In The Second Sex, De
Beauvoir discusses the history of domination women have experienced at the hands
of the superior group, men. In Black Skin, White Masks, Fanon explains and
analyzes the experiences of black men in the wake of colonialism and up to modern
times. Both authors not only address the ways in which women and black men are
dominated by others, but also the ways in which the oppressed group participates,
often unknowingly, in the systems of their own domination. According to De
Beauvoir, women participate in their own domination by embracing the benefits
given to them by men, by fulfilling expectations... Show more content on

From birth, girls are taught that they are to act a certain way, and when they become
women, they perpetuate these norms by fulfilling them. We are exhorted to be
women, remain women, become women... , De Beauvoir writes, ...it would appear,
then, that every female human being is not necessarily a woman; to be so
considered she must share in that mysterious and threatened reality known as
femininity . This femininity makes a female person a woman. For example, [a
woman] must become a passive thing, a promise of submission and, conversely, if [a
woman] is proud and demanding, woman meets the male as an adversary and is
decidedly not feminine. Shut up in her flesh, her home, she sees herself as passive
before these gods with human faces who set goals and establish values , and this
acceptance and participation in traditional femininity perpetuates societal beliefs that
women, or at least acceptable women, are inferior naturally. By doing this, women
participate in the continuation of their domination by men, who society believes are
more naturally suited for superiority. Furthermore, The woman that does not conform
devalues herself sexually, and hence socially, since sexual values are an integral
feature of society . This quote shows that, according to De Beauvoir, women have

Angel Child Research Paper
Growing up, I was always considered the Angel child in my family. My parents
thought of me as a kid who could do no wrong, and always did the right thing. For
most of my childhood and early teenage years, that was correct. It was not until I
met my new group of friends when starting Middle school and entering High school
that this all changed. I was introduced into the typical group of trouble makers; at
least that s what my parents would come to think. At first, it just seemed like a
normal group of friends. We would hang out, play video games and sports together;
all the typical activities that teenagers would do together. Things stayed like that up
until 9th grade, when more people were added to the group. Their ideas of fun often...

That was not enough for us however. Once we figured out that there was not much
do really do anymore that would be interesting, we walked back to my house
expecting the night to end from there. It was not until later in the night that Tyler and
Josh got hungry. I did not have food that I could make them or provide them, so we
just sat there in disappointment. That was when I had the genius idea to go out and
get food somewhere. At this point, we did not know exactly how we d get there,
so we debated running there on the roads since it was late enough to where there
would not be many cars on the road, so there wasn t much of a risk. We ultimately
decided we didn t want to do this, as we were too lazy and it really was not worth
it. Finally, the idea that would change everything popped into my head; to take my
mothers car and get food. The time was 11 pm when this idea was created and
developed, just two hours before my life changed. At first, we all questioned
whether it would be a good idea, and what would happen if we were caught.
Multiple things went through our heads such as if the car made too much noise
starting up. As we were contemplating, our other friends starting texting in the group
chat seeing if anyone wanted to sneak out and do anything since their parents were
asleep as well. I offered them a much more exciting option; for me to steal my mom
s car and pick them up to go get food. They instantly responded Hell yes,
How Is Atticus Finch Selfish
The quietest people are often the most powerful Society today is quick to stereotype
those with a quiet disposition as boring, hermits, misanthropes, inferior, self
conscious, serious, sensitive, shy, lack sociability, lack assertiveness and are
considered a second class personality trait. However, characters such as Atticus Finch
in To Kill A Mockingbird published by Harper Lee in 1960 and an influential
individual named J.K. Rowling prove these accusations wrongs. Without these quiet

Facilities Managers Are The Backbone Of All
Establishments
Facilities Managers are the backbone of nearly all establishments. They are the reason
the hotel runs smoothly and efficiently. They aid in profitability, effective staff
relation, effective information management, effective internal communication, and
effective facility responsibilities. The most important area of a hotel that the facilities
manager plays a role in is profitability.
Usually when people think of the maintenance department of any operation their first
thought is fixing thinks (Edwards, 2012. p.13). Yes, the maintenance crew does
indeed fix things, but their job is far more important than just that. For example, if
there are twenty light fixtures broken in a ballroom, no events can be hosted in there.
This will result in a huge profit loss anywhere from one hundred dollars to over
$30,000. The facilities manager s job is to come in and fix the room as quickly as
possible so they can start turning a profit. As the hotel gets older and older things
become outdated and old. This is where the facilities manager comes in and makes
the decision to either replace the old equipment with brand new equipment, or to
simply restore it. They are responsible for nearly everything from painting the
walls, resurfacing the roof... to the gas that cooks the food and anything in between
(Edwards, 2012. P14). If all of the equipment is taken care of from day one, it will
last much longer and save money in the long run. In the end, no hotel would be able
to operate or make a
Primates, Humans, And Humans
Primates, unlike humans are found only in tropical or subtropical regions of the
Americas, African, and Asian continent. Primates come in different sizes and shapes.
They range from Lemurs as small as, Madame Berthes Mouse Lemur to the largest
primate living known as the Eastern Gorilla. Primates, similar to humans are species
that play an important role in maintaining and influencing our ecological system.
They maintain the forest system between animals and its resources by taking on
various roles such as being herbivores, pollinators, and seed dispersers (Chapman
Peres, 2001). However, over time many species of primates have become endangered
and are threatened with extinction due to humanactivities such as HabitatDestruction,
Hunting/Bush meat, Pet Trade, and Diseases. It has been estimated that more than
50% of all primatespecies are faced with some sort of threat (Chapman Peres, 2001).
Leaving us with an increasing number of discovered and undiscovered primate
species endangered or at the brink of extinction. Primates are threatened by many
different factors but Hunting and Habitat Disturbance has become the most common
threats to primate survival. As the human population continues to grow and thrives to
meet its daily needs and resource demands (Oates, 2013). In other words, forest areas
are altered for urban and economic development through agricultural expansion,
logging, mining, road expansions, water projects and cattle grazing (Mittermeier,

with going internationally creates unknowns and can lead to mistakes. GoMacro
must do the most research possible on their competitors to get a feel for what the
consumers demand and how timely we can get our product in their hands. Lastly,
the concept of our bars being all natural means every single one of our ingredients is
naturally grown. This allows for the weather factor to come into play, as this is
something we cannot control. The process of planting and growing cannot be sped
up, which in result can place us at a disadvantage for reaching our target markets in a
timely manner.
Opportunities and Threats
There are two keys to success that GoMacro is focused on. These are broadly
characterized as Internal and External Factors. The internal factors that the company
feels that it controls its own success through are it s selling and marketing power, high
quality service and customer satisfaction, and lastly a key management team. The
products the company provides are made attractive in order to maintain a certain
level of B2B and B2C clients. GoMacro also needs to be excellent in fulfilling the
promise of their products. Clients are not only buying the product for the healthiness
of the ingredients but the flavor of the bar as well. With this everything the company

Commentary On The Book Oh Yeah, Audrey ! By Shaw
In Oh Yeah, Audrey!, published in 2014 by Amulet Books, Shaw tells the story of
Gemma Beasley, who sneaks away to New York City to meet with some friends
and celebrate the life of Audrey Hepburn. He is able to create an entire novel that
takes place in the span of 26 hours using the times of the day as the individual
chapters. This is important because Gemma puts together an itinerary for the
weekend but throughout the story, different problems arise which causes them to
keep changing their schedule. It is revealed in the beginning that Gemma co owns

Sociological Perspective On Marriage
Marriage can be viewed through any of the three main sociological perspectives:
symbolic interactionism, functionalism, and conflict theory. We will examine each
one of these perspectives individually. First, we will discuss marriage through the
functionalist perspective. Functionalists say that marriage fulfills the basic needs of
society: economic production, recreation, sexual control, the socialization and
incorporation of children, reproduction, and the care of elders. The familyfulfills these
roles. Although different societies definitions of marriagevary widely, they all satisfy
these basic criteria in some way. Functionalists also consider dysfunctions of marriage
and family. They discuss the fact that today s nuclear families, which exclude the
extended family, prevent the distribution of stress from the family s problems and
may cause the nuclear family to splinter apart. It also lessens the accountability of the
nuclear family and allows problems such as abuse or incest to continue unchecked....

Conflict theorists point out that conflict is a part of every marriage, and state that
this conflict comes from a struggle for power. They insist that women have been
resentful of the power held by their husbands for centuries, and have now wrested
more than their fair share from their husband s grasps. Personally, I don t put much
stock in this idea; in the diagram on page 465, the chart shows that about the same
amount of couples divide decisions equally as just wives deciding, or just husbands
deciding. It s fairly close to an even split. According to conflict theory, none of these
couples should divide decisions equally; one should have the upper

Vietnam was so significant to the United States partly as it would be the first war
they would lose. It also had a tremendous financial impact on the country and the
casualties were also more in the public eye than ever before due to the media. They

a long war for limited objectives, with its steady stream of body bags, will not be
supported by the American people (Martino, 1996, p37).
Some suggest that the US should have avoided any involvement in the war. However,
it is important to consider the political climate of the time when passing judgement.

Ho was determined to achieve independence for the region. The French wanted to
regain power and took badly to Ho s proclaiming the former Indochina as The
Democratic Republic of Vietnam in September, as the British had persuaded the allies
to return power to the French in October (Palmer, 1984).
At this time bi polarity was not yet fully entrenched and Ho appealed to the U.S. in
his September speech to the masses, drawing on The American Declaration of
Independence (ibid.). America influenced the celebrations and professed its
friendship to the new state. However, this did not last and reasons for America s
turnaround are many. During WW2 the US had viewed Indochina as of limited
importance but they began to reassess the situation (Herring, 1986).
France responded to Ho s proclamation by enlisting Britain s help in expelling the
Vietminh from the south of the country, creating a division between Ho s North
Vietnam and French South Vietnam. This was followed by fruitless attempts to
negotiate an agreement between the French and Vietminh that lasted over a year. For
the Vietminh, unification was vital for the country s survival as food production was
mostly in the south, but the French refused to budge. Hostility increased until, in
November 1946 France shelled Haiphong killing 6000 civilians, tragically beginning

In the Animalia kingdom, many different phylum emerged over a long period of
time due to evolution. Each phylum exhibit different characteristics which the
multicellular animals have developed to adapt to the environment for survival.
Examples are such as developing the ability to move from water to land and from
land to water, apart from being sessile. There are also developmental structures of the
animals to allow them to adapt for survival, like having exoskeletons or internal
skeletal structures for support, skin for protection, muscles for locomotion, nervous
system for senses and digestive systems for digesting complex food (Farabee, 2007).

Essay Making Management Decisions
Making Management Decisions
ASSIGNMENT 1
Lewandowska Santhirasekaran
1.Principles of business planning and decision making
Decision Making is A commitment to action (Mintzberg, H., 1983, p. 188) ;
Management decisions are made for a lot of different reasons, mainly because
decision making is a fundamental aspect of the management functions and
management decision making which makes it a key management role. (M. Teale,
V.Dispenza, J. Flynn, D.Currie, 2003, p. 10) (D. Boddy, 2008, p. 209)

According to the situation the LiveShows Ltd is at now, all of the decisions will be
programmed , it can be assumed that once programmed decision has been made, then
the consequences will be known. These decisions are normally characterised by a
known set of objectives, and can lend themselves to programmed decision making
methods. Management science offers tools and methodologies that enable the
organisations to deal with managerial problems. It deals with collection, interpretation
and presentation of data; however it is important to remember and understand the
limitations, assumptions and specific applicability of the methods in question. (M.
Teale, V.Dispenza, J. Flynn, D.Currie, 2003, pp. 228, 229)
The decisions are based on business objectives and context; decision making types
can also divide into three, depending on how much the decision made will affect the
business in terms of time and direction; these include:
Strategic Decisions long term decisions that affect the direction of the business
Tactical Decisions medium term decisions based around how to implement a strategy
Operational Decisions short term decisions, also known as administrative decisions
about how to implement the tactics. (T. Hannagan, 2008, p. 425)

How are you known? A last name is what defines them, it tells their past. It tells
what they should be like in relation to ancestors. When the word amerca comes to

America Singing. In this poem he tells of citizens doing their job or daily duty while
singing America. Later on in history a man named Langston Hughes, he was an
African americanpoet during the Harlem Renissance. This was a time period that
allowed Afican Americans Poetry to be taken seriously. Langston wrote a poem
that struck the hearts of all people, it is called I, Too, Sing Amerca, this poem
expands on how hard Africna Americans had it. They had to take care of
everything for their meals, and after all of that they were sent to eat their shares in

Analysis of the Movie, The Yellow Earth
In a village left behind as the rest of the China is progressing, the fate of women
remains in the hands of men. Old customs and traditions reign supreme, not because
it is believed such ways of life are best, but rather because they have worked for
many years despite harsh conditions. In response to Brother Gu s suggestion of

Farmer s have their own rules.

However, the very river to which she trekked each day to fetch water has too strong
a current and drowns her during an attempt at crossing it. This is ironic given that
the land is suffering from a drought; it also serves to illustrate how different Cuiqiao
is from the others, with her dying from an abundance of water while others die from
a lack of it. Her drowning is also a warning to others of the dangers of joining the
Communist movement. The failure of Communism is further illustrated in Brother
Gu s inability to come for Cuiqiao in time or even to help Hanhan as the village
descends into a frenzy for want of water.
To say this movie is an indictment of Communism or even of the antiquated
customs persistent in the Shaanxi province of pre WWII Northern China would
mean seeing only part of the overall picture. The panoramic shots that the movie
opens with create a sense of desolation barren hills, desert landscape, and shoddy
buildings housing poor farmers clawing their way through existence. The message
of this movie is received not just from the characters and their actions, but from the
setting and period as well. This use of the concept mis en scene achieves a certain
impact on the viewer. The soil is dry and bland; the sky often mixes with the earth
surrounding the characters in permanent gloom; the river is murky and slow. It was

Abstract Art And Its Effects On Educating Students And...
Abstract art is defined as art that does not attempt to represent external reality, but
seeks to achieve its effect using shapes, forms, colors, and textures.
Due to this, it has a higher potential for variation within color schemes and materials.
Said potential makes art not only valuable but ultimately unique no matter what piece
you look at. By addressing this in conjunction with obtaining Teapot by Waldemar
Kolbusz, DePauw University would be showing how much it prides itself on
educating its students and administration through the implementation of art.
Waldemar Kolbusz, thoughtfully dubbed Design Aficionado by his peers and
admirers, identifies as an Australian, mostly self taught artist born in 1969. While he
went through formal schooling and training as an accountant, he began his full time
career as an artist in 2000 at thirty one years old. By using oil, wax, and stained
canvases, he focuses mainly in abstract paintings in solo and group exhibits that show
emphasis on color and shape. Within these subcategories, Kolbusz deems his work as
expressionistic and works to show contrast within hue and the movement within
shape to evoke emotion and reactions from viewers. While his pieces remain defined
as abstract, he focuses on lifelike shapes and movements within his paintings by
creating intense, organic shapes. Throughout the years of his experience, Kolbusz has
found that by using wax in conjunction with the oil paints, he has created a style

Promotion Is The Business Of Communicating With The
Customer
Promotion is the business of communicating with the customer. Promotion raises
customer awareness of a product or brand, generating sales, and creating brand

hundred years ago. One could hardly imagine that his creature of the night would
delight and inhabit the nightmares of every generation between his and ours. Count
Dracula has become an icon of evil, and is perhaps the most widely recognized
bogeyman in all of world literature. To date, there have been over one hundred films
made about Dracula or other assorted vampires, not to mention countless novels,
comic books, nonfiction works, toys, clubs and societies even a children s breakfast
cereal celebrating the myth of the undead count. Dracula s notoriety is of such epic
proportions that it has all but obscured the man who gave us this ... Show more

Stoker was mesmerized by Irving s charismatic performance, but was disappointed
to find only a cursory mention of the event in the next day s Dublin Evening Mail.
A second tour by Irving four years later produced an equally unsatisfactory mention
in the Mail, prompting an outraged young Stoker to march into the offices of the
newspaper and offer himself for the unpaid position of theater critic. He got the job,
and as a result, when Irving (now a star of the London stage) returned to Dublin a
third time, this time to star in Hamlet, Stoker had the opportunity to set down in print
glowing praises of his favorite actor. Irving read the review and was delighted to the
extent that he invited the young critic to supper at his hotel, and began a friendship
that would last for almost thirty years.
In the years between 1870 and 1877, Stoker, yielding to his father s wishes,
followed him into a career as civil servant in Dublin Castle. However, Stoker
maintained ties to Trinity College, returning there frequently to speak on a wide
range of topics for the Philosophical Society.
In 1878, Irving took over ownership and renovation of London s Lyceum Theatre,
and asked Stoker to come to London to manage the theater and Irving s career.
Stoker immediately resigned his dreary civil service position, married a young lady

Society And Social Norms
Society and Social norms
There are so many rules we follow every day whether that be rules that your parents
make or rules created by the nation we live in but would you believe that we also
follow rules when talking with our friends? unwritten rules, or social norms and
they help us act appropriately in the right situation in a wide range of situations
whether that be in front of friends or in an interview social norms are there to help
us out. Because of our want to not feel out of place in a social situation and our
need to not be awkward around others, and people tend to conform to social norms
to prevent that from occurring and to fit into social groups. Many studies have been
conducted to see how this works and how it affects people s choices and actions. ...

A social norm is based on shared rules or laws that shape a group, like to be
courteous at the dinner table. The formation of social norms is common and
usually found in groups of people large and small for example, in a small group of
five if three of them share an opinion then the other two people in the group have a
very high likelihood of sharing the opinion of the majority, even if they don t
actually agree they will even act like they agree to conform to the norm. This
behavior can be seen in a much larger scale when you look at the U.S.A or any other
country that has unspoken rules about how to act and when and where to say certain
Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathies (TSEs) Essay
Prion diseases or transmissible spongiform encephalopathies (TSEs) are a family of
rare progressive neurodegenerative disorders that affect both humans and animals.
They are distinguished by long incubation periods, characteristic spongiform changes
associated with neuronal loss, and a failure to induce inflammatory response. The
proteinaceous infectious particles, prionwas identified by an American neurologist
Stanley B. Prusiner and colleagues in 1982derived from the words proteinand
infection (Stanley B. Prusiner Autobiography). Prions are known to Creutzfeldt
Jakob disease (CJD), Gerstmann Sträussler Scheinker syndrome and Fatal Familiar
Insomnia in humans. In mammals they cause mad cow disease in cattle. Prion
diseases affect... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moreover, different anti PrP antibodies or their antigen binding fragments that disrupt
the PrP AОІ interaction were able to block the AОІ mediated disruption of synaptic
plasticity. These findings were deemed exciting because they suggest the involvement
of PrPC in Alzheimer s disease (AD) pathogenesis. However, others found that the
absence of PrPC did not prevent deficits in hippocampal dependent behavioral tests
upon intracerebral AОІ injection (Krull Nunnally, 2004).
PrPSc is identified as a surrogate marker and potential TSE agent. PrPSc formation
was first detected in the murine neuroblastoma cell line N2a when exposed to
mouse adapted scrapie (Abbott, 2010).Subsequent infection experiments
demonstrated susceptibility of N2a cells to several different mouse adapted scrapie
strains. Since then, several cell lines of neuronal and non neuronal origin have been
identified to be susceptible to a stable infection with prions. Once prions have
successfully infected a cell line, they can replicate persistently over multiple cell
passages, with very few exceptions, without any overt cytopathic effect (Shorter J,
Lindquist S (June 2005). Cell lines that have been successfully infected include
microglial cells as well as epithelial cells, fibroblasts and myoblasts, which have all
been demonstrated to persistently replicate an array of prion strains in vitro.
Curiously, a
Marching Band Traditions Never Change
Some Traditions Never Change
Marching band is a culture that many people in the world participate in whether they
re in high school or college. Members of any marching bands share characteristics
such as hard work, the strength to keep going when things are hard and to stay calm
under pressure. Power is distributed in the group from the marching band director to
the drum major and to the section leader. Many people think marching band is
something anybody could do with ease, but we practice day to day, which means
we practice two hours and five minutes to learn the show. The common nickname is
being called band nerds which I think is fitting because we live for it. Band is more
than a hobby it s a sport because of all the time we practice. ... Show more content on

Besides Hawaii I would probably rate band camp as one of the best things about
being in the marching band. At band camp, I created memories that will last a
lifetime form doing our last eight to five marches as a senior class to the bonfire
for the seniors and listening to all the stories past down from previous groups. The
first thing we do when we get to band camp is go over the agenda for the year and
the songs we will play including the run on and pregame activities. Next, we go to
our first practice which was from six to nine just to refresh on the basic eight to
five and so on. As a section leader this is important because you want to make sure
that your section is stepping and landing with the right foot. Through many late
nights playing cards with the chaperones getting up at seven isn t always the
easiest. Were lucky enough to have great cooks at the camp. Being seniors, we get
to pick the meals and the desserts they make. Thirdly, it is usually very hot for
band camp, meaning that we get lots of water breaks, but that means we also get
ice pops. As a band we try to learn the show in three to four days and learn the run
on by that Friday. When Saturday rolls around seniors take their last look around
and take one last run through the show to clean up any little mistakes. When we get
back from the camp we perform for the whole town on what we learned. I probably
miss band camp the most out of all the high school activities I participated in. I was
lucky enough to be able to do this opportunity for all four years of my high school
Campbell Soup Business Analysis
Campbell Soup Company s main objective is to elevate trust through real food,
transparency, sustainability, and only using fresh ingredients from plants or
animals (Campbell, 2016b). During a conference at Sustainable Brands in 2014,
Campbell President and CEO Denise Morrison explained that using fresh food is
an important role for the company. Campbell Soup is uncompromisingly
committed to selling food that is delicious, accessible and affordable (Campbell,
2014). She called this standard a compass to guide the company and serve as a
filter for daily decision making. Millennials and baby boomers trust Campbell Soup
to provide food and drink that are good, honest, authentic and flavorful, made from
ingredients that are grown, prepared, cooked or baked with care (Campbell, 2014).
Campbell Soup Company developed Campbell s Real Food Index, which is a system
to track their progress against its ingredient commitments, such as plans to remove
artificial colors and flavors from its North American products (Campbell, 2016b).

While adults are moving toward healthier snacks, young millennials generally have
been on the opposite side when it comes to the healthy trend. A research has
indicated that young millennials would eat healthier if given appealing alternatives
to current favorites such as chips and ice cream. Using this research, Campbell Soup
is specifically targeting Millennial moms with children between the ages of 4 and 11
(Sosland, 2014). The company is making products, smoothies, fruit tubes, and veggie
snacks which are formulated with moms needs in mind. They are all fruit and veggie
focused and none of these products include unwholesome ingredients that mothers are
trying to avoid such as added sugar, high fructose corn syrup. Also, non dairy options
will be offered both within the smoothies and fruit tubes lines
Watercrafts In Ancient China
My research topic was naval transport and watercrafts, in the following document I
will be comparing and contrasting the two greatest river vessels of the ancient
world. The Sampan of ancient China and the Felucca of Egypt. Each culture had a
different idea on boats, and I hope to teach you that not all ships are created equal.
Both of these boats were made of wood, and both were held together with vegetable
compounds. Although the Egyptians used wet reeds as caulk for the seams of
lumber, the Chinese used strong fibers pulled off of plants to secure small parts
together.
This was not the only similarity though, rudders were rather mainstream at that
point and so both of the different ships used the same method of control. Large
wooden rudders planted at the back of the ship would catch the water like a sail
beneath the surface of the water creating resistance and shifting the bow in the
opposite direction. The rudder is still being used in almost all sailboats, and has
evolved very little, even after hundreds of years. ... Show more content on

The Felucca is much more prominent in modern civilization than the Sampan, the
Felucca is still being used not only for day to day sailing, but tours of the nile as well.
The Feluccas all used linen sails to navigate the nile river while on the other hand
the Sampan was propelled by the current and oars. The Sampans had more of a
spiritual significance throughout the Chinese culture than any Egyptian boat. Each
Sampan was decorated with painted eyes on the front of the boat, because the
Chinese believed that the ship needed to see ahead, and ships were specially
designed not to disrupt the current which in turn would disrupt the river dragon who
was believed to swallow all of China if woken. Earlier Egyptian boats were made
purely of reeds because wood supply was scarce, while the Sampan was made of
wood from the

  • 4. Faith and Doubt in the Poetry of Gerard Manley Hopkins Essay Gerard Manley Hopkins had eight siblings and was born of Manley and Catherine Smith Hopkins. His parents were Anglicans that followed the Catholic tradition in sacraments and papacy. By instilling the theological values, faith and morals into Gerard, he became heavily influenced by his family. His parents taught him, as well as their other children to love God. Gerard guaranteed his mother that he would strengthen his connection with God and familiarize himself with the Scripture, so Gerard began to read the New Testament at school. He saw the Newman converted from the Anglican Church to the Catholic Church and that grabbed his attention. After understanding Newman s choice he himself also converted to Catholicism in 1866. By 1888 Gerard had joined the Society of Jesus, which is a clergy order founded by St. Ignatius of Loyola. The Society of Jesus Order concentrates mainly on theological scholarship and spreading the values of faith. On his journey to become a Jesuit priest Gerard gave up on poetry. He believed that expressing himself through poetry was being too original. Hopkins did not want his love of poetry to draw attention. To prevent his personal goal from diverging him from becoming a Jesuit priest, he sacrificed his passion and burned his early poems. Before I became Catholic and I only thought about what it would be like, I had the habit of crossing myself whenever I prayed. Whenever I saw the homeless man on my way home from school I would cross myself, saying a prayer for him. My mother would usually interrupt. Eventually, she started teasing me for it. It was not mean or unbearable just a little tease where she would ask me why I crossed myself, just little things. This nitpicking was not so much of a problem for me. Another time at my mom s Seventh Day Adventist Church people stared at me because I crossed myself. They did not
  • 5. The Argument For The Existence Of God My paper scrutinizes numerous logical disputes for and alongside the presence of God. I shall argue that there s no adequate evidence or inclusive arguments for the existence of God. It is grounded on the views of certain great philosophers and scientists of all of mankind. Generally speaking for myself, I would correspond to have faith that there is God . Regrettably, it s awfully well defined that the being built up on insightful faith is no longer a suitable custom to shadow. During the course, I expected to learn some type of proof with the intention of upholding a course of the belief in a God implanted in me by my parents. Sadly, this wasn t the case. It could have been fine if the ontological, theological, or cosmological argument could have related itself to the experimental world with a God outside this world, but they are unable too. The ontological argument failed because it was only a misleading piece of terms that couldn t prolong into actuality. The teleological argumentexpressed unsupported inferences from similarities of experiential remark and materialists supplied other possibilities that are reasonably legal. The cosmological argument failed as well since it not once understandably argued the making of the universe. There are many amazing individuals who ve consumed an immense sum of time in studying the Bible. However, as many would agree, there was no tragedy greater than the one that occurred on November 22nd 1963, the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Due to the deductions the House Select Committee of Assassinations conducted, many believe the tragedy that occurred that late November was a conspiracy. One of those buildings is the previous Texas School Book Depository, from which, as stated in the Warren Report, Oswald fired a rifle and shot Kennedy. To the west of the plaza is a triple passageway underneath a railroad bridge, where the motorcade sped after the shots were fired. Kennedy was not the only victim during the shooting but Texas Governor John Connally was wounded with the second shot (Rubinstein), who recollected seeing a lump of President Kennedy s brain fall onto his pants. The Warren Commission conducted the magic bullet theory in which, before entering Connally s back, one of the bullets penetrated Kennedy s neck, went through the chest, passed through his right wrist and punctured his left thigh. However, Connally disagreed with this theory. According to a handful of witnesses, there are three possibilities of where these bullets came from. Many believe the bullets came from the sixth floor of the Book Depository, also known as sniper s lair . Others believe bullets came from grassy knoll and some suppose the bullets came from both locations. The window in which Oswald allegedly shot the president is on the sixth floor of the Book Depository and has boxes stacked on each other in order to steady the rifle for aim. There is a perfect view of where the president was shot, and a rifle and bullets were later found in the room. The grassy knoll is a slight, inclined mound inside the plaza and was

A significant question posed is how and why did the Roman Republic and Empire develop in the ways they did and interact with the Persian and Greek/Hellenic Empires? At the height of the Roman Empire it spanned across western Europe, and encompassed the entire Mediterranean. Lasting and developing through thousands of years, the Romans encountered and interacted with the Persian and Greek/Hellenic Empires. This included trading, co existing, and going to war with one another. Although, originally the Roman Republic and Empire was first founded by the Etruscan people. Established in 753 BCE by a Etruscan colony on the River Tiber in Italy, the city was controlled by Etruscan Kings until 509 BCE. Whence the people rose up against the monarchy to establish the Roman Republic, and fought for control of central Italy for the next 30 years. (Dr David Lundberg, 2017, pp.6 7) Thus the Roman Republic became a contending force in Western Europe, and across the Mediterranean for the next 450 years. (J.M.Roberts Odd Arne Westad, 2013, p.218) Instead of a king, two consuls and an assembly of elected magistrates were installed to rule the Roman Republic. Before a new set of consuls, and new magistrates were elected by the citizens each year. To reduce the running time of XXX, we further proposed an optimization framework which estimates the minimum amount of backup resources required to meet heterogeneous availability requirements and showed an heuristic solution with a theoretical bound. Through evaluation with data from production data centers, we demonstrated the effectiveness and efficiency of our solutions. For the future work, we are expanding our optimization framework to enable expedited estimations of the backup resource needed under other models of VNF. On the other hand, the downtime estimation accuracy is heavily dependent on the accuracy of the failure and repair distribution of each layer, including both hardware and software. • 25. Angel Child Research Paper Growing up, I was always considered the Angel child in my family. My parents thought of me as a kid who could do no wrong, and always did the right thing. For most of my childhood and early teenage years, that was correct. It was not until I met my new group of friends when starting Middle school and entering High school that this all changed. I was introduced into the typical group of trouble makers; at least that s what my parents would come to think. At first, it just seemed like a normal group of friends. We would hang out, play video games and sports together; all the typical activities that teenagers would do together. Things stayed like that up until 9th grade, when more people were added to the group. Their ideas of fun often... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That was not enough for us however. Once we figured out that there was not much do really do anymore that would be interesting, we walked back to my house expecting the night to end from there. It was not until later in the night that Tyler and Josh got hungry. I did not have food that I could make them or provide them, so we just sat there in disappointment. That was when I had the genius idea to go out and get food somewhere. At this point, we did not know exactly how we d get there, so we debated running there on the roads since it was late enough to where there would not be many cars on the road, so there wasn t much of a risk. We ultimately decided we didn t want to do this, as we were too lazy and it really was not worth it. Finally, the idea that would change everything popped into my head; to take my mothers car and get food. The time was 11 pm when this idea was created and developed, just two hours before my life changed. At first, we all questioned whether it would be a good idea, and what would happen if we were caught. Multiple things went through our heads such as if the car made too much noise starting up. As we were contemplating, our other friends starting texting in the group chat seeing if anyone wanted to sneak out and do anything since their parents were asleep as well. I offered them a much more exciting option; for me to steal my mom s car and pick them up to go get food. They instantly responded Hell yes,

They aid in profitability, effective staff relation, effective information management, effective internal communication, and effective facility responsibilities. The most important area of a hotel that the facilities manager plays a role in is profitability. Usually when people think of the maintenance department of any operation their first thought is fixing thinks (Edwards, 2012. p.13). Yes, the maintenance crew does indeed fix things, but their job is far more important than just that. For example, if there are twenty light fixtures broken in a ballroom, no events can be hosted in there. This will result in a huge profit loss anywhere from one hundred dollars to over $30,000. The facilities manager s job is to come in and fix the room as quickly as possible so they can start turning a profit. As the hotel gets older and older things become outdated and old. This is where the facilities manager comes in and makes the decision to either replace the old equipment with brand new equipment, or to simply restore it. They are responsible for nearly everything from painting the walls, resurfacing the roof... to the gas that cooks the food and anything in between (Edwards, 2012. P14). We will examine each one of these perspectives individually. First, we will discuss marriage through the functionalist perspective. Functionalists say that marriage fulfills the basic needs of society: economic production, recreation, sexual control, the socialization and incorporation of children, reproduction, and the care of elders. The familyfulfills these roles. Although different societies definitions of marriagevary widely, they all satisfy these basic criteria in some way. Functionalists also consider dysfunctions of marriage and family. During WW2 the US had viewed Indochina as of limited importance but they began to reassess the situation (Herring, 1986). Cell lines that have been successfully infected include microglial cells as well as epithelial cells, fibroblasts and myoblasts, which have all been demonstrated to persistently replicate an array of prion strains in vitro. Curiously, a

Members of any marching bands share characteristics such as hard work, the strength to keep going when things are hard and to stay calm under pressure. Power is distributed in the group from the marching band director to the drum major and to the section leader. Many people think marching band is something anybody could do with ease, but we practice day to day, which means we practice two hours and five minutes to learn the show. The common nickname is being called band nerds which I think is fitting because we live for it. Band is more than a hobby it s a sport because of all the time we practice. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Besides Hawaii I would probably rate band camp as one of the best things about being in the marching band. At band camp, I created memories that will last a lifetime form doing our last eight to five marches as a senior class to the bonfire for the seniors and listening to all the stories past down from previous groups. The first thing we do when we get to band camp is go over the agenda for the year and the songs we will play including the run on and pregame activities. Next, we go to our first practice which was from six to nine just to refresh on the basic eight to five and so on. As a section leader this is important because you want to make sure that your section is stepping and landing with the right foot. Through many late nights playing cards with the chaperones getting up at seven isn t always the easiest. Were lucky enough to have great cooks at the camp. Being seniors, we get to pick the meals and the desserts they make. Thirdly, it is usually very hot for band camp, meaning that we get lots of water breaks, but that means we also get ice pops. As a band we try to learn the show in three to four days and learn the run on by that Friday. When Saturday rolls around seniors take their last look around and take one last run through the show to clean up any little mistakes. When we get back from the camp we perform for the whole town on what we learned. I probably miss band camp the most out of all the high school activities I participated in. I was lucky enough to be able to do this opportunity for all four years of my high school

Also, non dairy options will be offered both within the smoothies and fruit tubes lines

Watercrafts In Ancient China My research topic was naval transport and watercrafts, in the following document I will be comparing and contrasting the two greatest river vessels of the ancient world. The Sampan of ancient China and the Felucca of Egypt. Each culture had a different idea on boats, and I hope to teach you that not all ships are created equal. Both of these boats were made of wood, and both were held together with vegetable compounds. Although the Egyptians used wet reeds as caulk for the seams of lumber, the Chinese used strong fibers pulled off of plants to secure small parts together. This was not the only similarity though, rudders were rather mainstream at that point and so both of the different ships used the same method of control. Large wooden rudders planted at the back of the ship would catch the water like a sail beneath the surface of the water creating resistance and shifting the bow in the opposite direction. The rudder is still being used in almost all sailboats, and has evolved very little, even after hundreds of years. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Felucca is much more prominent in modern civilization than the Sampan, the Felucca is still being used not only for day to day sailing, but tours of the nile as well. The Feluccas all used linen sails to navigate the nile river while on the other hand the Sampan was propelled by the current and oars. The Sampans had more of a spiritual significance throughout the Chinese culture than any Egyptian boat. Each Sampan was decorated with painted eyes on the front of the boat, because the Chinese believed that the ship needed to see ahead, and ships were specially designed not to disrupt the current which in turn would disrupt the river dragon who was believed to swallow all of China if woken. Earlier Egyptian boats were made purely of reeds because wood supply was scarce, while the Sampan was made of wood from the
