ABSTRACT: The use of glycerol residue, a palm oil waste from Oleochemical
industries as a raw material for the production of succinic acid with immobilized
cell fermentation process was investigated. In this work, the raw material,
immobilized cells to produced succinic acid were characterized by Fourier
Transform Infrared Spectrometry (FTIR) and Scanning Electron Microscope
instruments. Based on the results, the functional group appearing for treated and
commercial glycerol is the hydroxyl, aromatic methoxyl, alkenes, soap, carbonyl
and alcohol group. The hydroxyl group which is O H appeared at a spectra value
of 3394.2700 cm 1for the treated glycerol and 3299.9600 cm 1 for the commercial
group. Respectively. From the analysis of SEM for bead, it was found that
majority of pores fall within range and the shapes was ellipsoid and a thick skin
around strains was detectable, therefore indicating that immobilized cell prepared

is a photographer but unfortunately recently has to use a wheelchair and stay in an

time watching his neighbors through his camera. Due to the warmth of summer

The students first prepared to construct a standard curve. To do this, each group
measured the absorbance of starch solutions of unknown concentrations treated with
IKI (General Biology I, Martineau, Dean, Gilliland, Soderstrom, Lab Manual, 2017,
45). The absorbance values were determined for a range of samples, and plotted on a
graph. A line of best fit was then used as a reference to determine the amount of starch
present in unknown samples.
Using the yellow tube, which included everything but starch, as the blank, each group
zeroed their spectrophotometer. This was done so that any absorbance observed
depends only on the amount of starch present, not on any other reagents (buffer, IKI).
To zero the spectrophotometer, the wavelength was first set at 580nm, using knob 3
(45). Next, the groups made sure that the light next to transmittance was lit, and the
chamber to be tightly closed. Having the chamber empty closed tightly provides

Worldwide, coral reefs are suffering due to both natural and human induced causes.
Nature will take its course, but humans must do all they can to help restore and
rehabilitate coral reefs to a healthy state. Between invasive species, temperature
change, and overfishing, it has become evident that if we do not do something, all
coral reefs will be destroyed. This study focuses on some of these issues, and
discusses actions that are being taken to reverse the damages being caused by people.
Coral fragmentation and gardening, invasive species control, marine protected areas
(MPAs), and heightened restrictions on fishing are just a few of these. With enough
urgency, we may just be able to save our reefs from the imminent destruction they
now face.

ecosystem must survive in order to protect countless species from going extinct,
ensure continued protection to shorelines from weather, and provide economic and

It can be said that cellular respiration is one of, if not the most important
biochemical reactions, this applies even more so for humans. This metabolic

Separating Boys And Girls Essay
Does separating boys and girls help students perform better in school? No I do not
think that boys and girls learn better separated. Over one hundred twenty schools
offered at least one single sex class. They offered at least one single sex class
because they think that kids are going to learn better with the same gender. To me
separating boys and girls is just like separating blacks and whites. No, I do not think
they should separate boys and girls.
I also think if boys and girls are separated then they will not know much about the
other sex. Boys may not know how bossy or sensitive girls are. Girls may not know
how much boys joke around or stink. In my experience boys and girls in the same
classroom positively influences all students. Both genders positively influences all
students because some girls feel better having guys as friends and some boys like
have girls as friends. In my vision boys and girls learn in the same way. Both

There were two more occupants inside the vehicle, which were identified as
Hudson, Cortez E.DOB 08/04/97 (rear passenger) and Stafford, Monae D. DOB 06
/12/97 (front passenger). Hudson related he smoke cannabis approximately (1)
one hour ago. All the occupants of the vehicle requested to exited the vehicle due
to the odor of cannabis. The vehicle was searched and (1) one black in colored Hi
Point firearm (.45 ACP) serial number X4280726 was located from the rear of the
vehicle that was in plain view next to a TV stand. The firearm was photographed (5
