Sometimes movies appear to be very scientific but in reality are complete opposite.
Does that necessarily make it bad movie? That is a personal opinion, but to me
personally I can t really get behind a scientific movie that isn t backed up by
science. The Core written by John Rogers and Cooper Layne and directed by Jon
Amiel, is one of the worst movies if you are comparing the movie details to
scientific facts. In the following paragraphs and pages I will compare the movie to
scientific facts, to show how inaccurate the film really is.
So the whole movie is based off that the idea that the earth s core is going to stop
spinning which causes the earth to have terrible disasters, so a team of scientists
have to travel to the center of the earth to bomb it. In the movie it says the earths
magnetic field is caused by the earths spinning outer layer which is true however it
does not spin in one direction, it spins in very complicated circuits. The problem in

Thoreau s approach does not seem to be enough as there are many citizens that
have simply washed their hands of the racism and do not participate. However, this
inaction has allowed it to fester and explode in radical proportions across the
country. Thoreau s words of not asking for no government but a better system are
words of great wisdom. The struggle that the American people face is the same that
Douglass and others faced: what can be done to stop the racism? Many movements
have taken to peaceful protests to raise awareness and to call people from inaction
to action. Some members of the government have tried to implement policies but yet

Lee Beaton created Colours of the City using acrylic on canvas. The painting is
currently on exhibit at Cre8ery Gallery located in Winnipeg s Exchange District.
Beaton focuses on creating architectural themed paintings or energized abstracts.
This particular painting has a large size of 48 x 36 which can only be entirely
viewed when standing several feet back. Beaton does not have a specific audience
she is aiming towards when creating her paintings. She wants to share with the
viewers how we are all beautiful and also wants to show that it is what is inside that
makes us beautiful . In Colours of the City, Beaton uses form, content, and style to
capture the ideas and design of the city that gives this art piece an interesting well

represents the state in which our society is currently living in; from the pollution,
climate change, and the negative impact of urbanism on the environment. The

miserable time. He saw Dunbar as someone he could never be and he didn t see his

Going into the movie we did not really get a strong sense of how Dunbar thought of
the Indians. While he was journeying out to the frontier Dunbar asked Timmons, a
man that was taking him there, what he thought about Indians. With no hesitation at
all Timmons stated that they were all thieves, murderers, and savages. Dunbar didn t
ever state what he thought of the Indians. I got the impression that he really did not
have an opinion about them because he has never dealt with them. He seemed like
the type of guy that would not assume something without experiencing it for himself.
Everyone he talked to about Indians probably said the same things Timmons did, but
for some reason Dunbar was different from the rest. He seemed to be better than that.
The Indians are finally presented in the movie by the screen scanning across a wide
open desert very peaceful and deserted. In the middle of all this silence the camera
fell upon a skeleton of a human that we assume the Indians killed. This is how the
movie sets the tone for how we are going to think about the Indians. They play with
the stereotype that all us Americans think are true about the Indians. At first we think
that we were right, but the story does not end there.

memorize and remember things by creating a physical place in your mind in
which to store things, and it doesn t have to be a palace it just has to be a place that
you are extremely familiar with. It could be your house, your school, or any place
you can imagine clearly in your mind. Let s say you use your house as your mind
palace, what you would do is close your eyes and imagine you are standing outside
your house, now imagine opening the front door and walking to a room, such as
your bedroom. Now make sure that you can very clearly visualize the entire room
and then place whatever you need to remember in that room. Let s say you have a
grocery list you need to remember and you need soda, bananas, and milk, place the
milk on your pillow, the soda on your desk and the bananas on your dresser. Now
