Columbine Theory
On April 20th 1999 the world was forever changed as two seniors from Columbine High School
walked into their school and commenced, what is now known as, The Columbine Massacre . This act
of terrorism was school violence like the world had never seen before. The two students, who were
later identified as Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris, shot and killed twelve students, as well as one
teacher. They injured twenty one others and three students were hurt trying to escape the massacre.
Guns were not all that were used to wreck havoc on the high school. Klebold and Harris had
premeditated a very strategic plan using a firebomb, that they placed three miles away from the school
s campus, to divert firefighters. They also used bombs made from propane tanks, ninety nine
explosives, and car bombs. [1]
There intent was to create an attack that was so devastating that the entire world would be afraid by
their power. Thankfully due to their lack of wiring skills, the bombs did not go off. Therefore the
casualty count was far less then they had originally expected with numbers soaring to over 600. [2]
When the attackers realized that their plans were foiled, they ended the massacre by taking their own
lives.
Many psychologists have theorized why this particular event took place, and why school violence is
becoming more prevalent in today s society. Here are three different theories from three different
psychologists, their psychological perspectives on school violence, and how it can

Southwest Colonies Vs New England Colonies
The aspects of religion and economics differed greatly between Southwest and New England colonies.
Each colony had different religious backgrounds and different ways of making money and sustaining a
stable economy. This was because of the different religious views the held by the settlers or the
economic strengths and weaknesses including the geographical region. The religious views of the
Southwest Colonies and New England colonies hugely contrasted. The dominant religion in Spain at
the time was Catholicism. Catholicism gave the Spaniards a common identity and allowed them to
explore much faster than the English who were experiencing a religious civil war at the time. So the
Spanish went over to spread Catholicism. The Franciscans and

Segeration In Supreme Court Cases
Segeration was a big thing and was very controversial throughout the United States. They were many
court cases and debates about the segreation.Segeration was when the blacks and white were seperated
and were based of their color which limited most of the tings that they could do.But in the Plessy v.
Ferguson in 1896 the United States Supreme Court ruled that the whites and blacks could be sepreated
but equal if it didnt violate the Constuition. This was the start to ending segreation in United
States. This lead up to the Brown vs Board supreme court case on segraton in schools.
Another thing that did to help end segeration is they started boycotting on public buses. On the bus
whites sat in the front and black sat in the back so they could

The Effects of Enzyme Concentration on the Activity of Amylase
To investigate the effect of Amylase concentration on its activity. the relative activity of Amylase is
found by noting the time taken for the starch substrate to be broken down, that is, when it is no longer

Its function is to catalyse the hydrolysis of amylose and amylopectin to a mixture of products,
including maltose and dextrin, which are polysaccharides. Maltose consists of two alpha glucose
remains joined by 1,4 linkage; Dextrin is made up of several alpha glucose units joined by 1,4 and 1,6
linkages. Pullulanase, also known as debranching enzyme, hydrolysis the alpha 1,6 links at the
branching points in the polysaccharide. Commercial sources of these enzymes include bacteria and
fungi. Fungi amylases are used to clarify fruits juices, wines and beer by removing suspended starch.
In bread making for example addition of amylases can yield more sugars from the starch in flour and
barley grains, another commercial which is statue of import ants is the conversion of starch to sweet
glucose syrups which are used generally as sweeteners in food industry as well as in the bread making
and brewing industry. Altering the balance between amyloglucosidase and the fungi alpha amylase can
produce different proportions of glucose and maltose. A higher proportion of glucose is useful for
fermentation whereas higher maltose is more useful in preparation of jam and confectionary. The
Amylase Enzyme breaks down starch; which is a carbohydrate.

70.
There are a few reasons why this view struggles to adequately explain the prophecy of the seventy
weeks. The actual time span of the week varies between the time periods. If God was trying to reveal
anything to Daniel about when these things would take place than a good assumption would be that
the weeks would be similar in scope of time. Another issue that would have to be addressed by
proponents of this view is how the first advent of Christ solves everything that is to take place in verse
24 of Daniel 9. The last thing that needs to be answered is why does the destruction of Jerusalem take
place before the sixty nine weeks if it is clearly lined out in the prophecy to be after the sixty nine
weeks? (verse 26)
The Covenantal View
The covenantal view is a view that also holds that the time periods are symbolic. This view also
begins at the decree given by Cyrus in Ezra 1 after the 70 year captivity around 538 B.C. It has sixty
nine weeks from that date leading up to the death of Christ around 33 A.D. at which point the
seventieth week kicks off and continues until the apocalypse. This view has serious issues with the
periods of time not being equal. The last week for instance has lasted for the previous 2000 years and
is continuing through the present time. The sixty nine weeks from the decree of Cyrus to the death of
Christ equal about eight years per week. The strength of this view is that it is trying to

Leisure Activitie Social Disengagement Theory
Objective The goal of this presentation is for you to understand that leisure programs are not just
about the activity itself, but about the social connections it provides for the attendees. Older age is a
transitional period when people experience changes not only in physical health but also in social roles
that can influence opportunities for social participation. Social connectedness is a key component of
healthy aging that should be promoted in recreational programming for older adults. Key Messages
Social disengagement theory is a classic social psychological view which holds that older adults
isolation results from a gradual and irreversible abandonment of social roles, narrowing role sets, and
the weakening of existing social bonds. This point of view is now often contrasted with Activity and
Continuity theories which note that older adults who adjust to later life transitions by remaining
socially active are happier and healthier. This is an exciting transition as policies and programs begin
to incorporate the idea of social connectedness, rather than merely occupying the time of older adults.

Relationships, conversations and practicing new and old skills provides cognitive stimulation for
individuals. Leisure programs can also act as a support system for older adults, as well as provide
accountability. For example, many older adults who live alone have poor nutrition because they do not
enjoy eating alone, community dinners provide an opportunity to engage in conversation, but it also
increases the chance of the individual eating a proper and balanced meal. Additionally, leisure
programs can provide resources for individuals to find and receive the care they need. These positive
health outcomes suggest the prevention of social isolation is an important step in increasing the quality
of life of older people and reducing public expenditure on medical costs for this

The Importance Of The Darkness In The Los Angeles Times By...
The author, Paul Bogard, is a newspaper editor, he wants people to notice that the darkness has
amazing qualities to it. He feels like he needs to write the article to emphasize the importance of the
darkness to various beneficiaries such as: the environment, and human life. This essay meant for
casual readers of the Los Angeles Times , has achieved his purpose in various ways. He has used
actual details from world renowned sources to support his claims about the health and equilibrium
benefits that exposure to the dark can bring, and the author also puts in some appeals to emotion and
religion in various forms.
The article talks about two main beneficiaries from long exposure to dark conditions: the environment
and humans. As seen in the second paragraph, he talks about the World Health Organization (WHO) in
that, Already the [WHO] classifies working the night shift as a probable human carcinogen. In the
statement above, the author is using information from reliable sources that have done studies to prove
the results as a way to make his text more credible. Moreover, the sentence right after offers another
empirical study from the American Medical Association (AMA) stating that light pollution, which
hinders the dark from being the main focus, should be reduced. Therefore, the statement makes the
reader feel like the author is highly credible as he has done the research to back up his statements. This
also helps get his point across that the the dark should be saved as

Mario Stereotypes
In the movie, there is a scene where Mario is late, and while everyone is cooking, and he comes in
singing an Italian song. He looks all dazed and confused until Martha tells him that he is an hour late
and he just goes back to singing. This scene definitely stereotyped Italians because it is assumed that
Italians are always late. Another example would be when Mario makes spaghetti and starts eating it,
and leaves it with Lina because he had an order to do and he said save some for me and when he gets
back she is eating all of it. There is also a scene where Mario cooks for the staff and he makes them
spaghetti and he tells him that it is his mothers recipe and that he got it from he while she was on her
death bed. Both scenes stereotype

Transportation
Early in the medieval times traders had transported all of their goods and trading assets by animal
driven carts rather than machine powered carts and wagons. With the invention of stirrups and saddles,
it had majorly improved horseback riding for longer trips, but with many people being poor at this
time, the equipment for horseback was very expensive, so it was pretty rare to see people traveling
long distances on horseback. On the other hand, people with more and heavier goods usually had oxen
pull the cart forward but at the expense of going much slower. With wagons and carts, they were not

such as Oslo and Tonsberg in Norway, Alborg in Denmark, cities in England that include York,
Boston, Lynn, and Norwich. (brittanica.com/topic/Hanseatic League)
Decline
The decline of the Hanseatic League involved the breaking of the German monopoly, most definitely
in the Baltic Sea, and the level of intrest between towns. Loss of political development surrounding
the Baltic had lowered the intrest of Hanseatic consumers after Valdemar IV was defeated. Most
Hanseatic countries had broken off like Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Russia, Poland, and Lithuania.
With the English and Dutch traders gaining experience from the Germans, they did not need them
anymore. In 1669, the Hanseatic League had ended.

Guernica And Executions Of The Third Of May Essay
Compare and Contrast
Guernica and Executions of the Third of May, 1808
There are two events that were so emotional within Spanish history that we hear about them even
today. Not only do we hear about them, but we can see and relate the emotions through two very
popular artworks done by Spaniards who were directly affected by these events. Francisco de Goya
and Pablo Picasso used their artistic talents to record these events. There are many differences within
these two artworks. However, there are also many similarities, even though these artworks were
constructed in two different centuries. Francisco de Goya has painted an image to show a time of
tragedy. This painting is called Executions of the Third of May, 1808. Goya started painting this in

Utilizing his talent as an artist, Goya painted, an eight feet and nine inches by thirteen feet and four

he used whites, yellows, and reds to highlight important features in the work. The executions occurred
during the invasion of Spain by Napoleon and his troops in 1808. This particular event took a toll on
Goya because he was a Spaniard himself. This is an image of actual events that occurred on the hill of
Principe Pio and the battle at Medina del Rio. Goya s strategy was to use psychological forces to
direct not only our eyes but also our sympathy to the painting. He gains our sympathy by using the
faces of the rebels as focal points in the painting. He painted the soldiers and their rifles in a way to
create direction that forces the viewers to focus on the rebel with his hands flung out in a gesture of
crucifixion. He also painted this rebel with a bright white shirt and clean pants. The rebel s face shows
grief and anguish, but his arms are in the shape of a v which may represent amity. The faces of the

A Comparison Of Shrek And Siddhartha
Siddhartha and Shrek contain similarities as mono myths; however the story of Shrek is the more
creative work of the two. Both stories are good examples of mono myths, but the appeal of each story
is very different. The audience reading Siddhartha and the audience watching Shrek are most likely
polar opposites. Siddhartha s audience is probably more adults and religiously based. Shrek s audience
is probably more children and family friendly.
Siddhartha is a spiritual and religious novel that is intended to teach the reader about how

Safety And Violence In School Shootings
The moment that a person reaches their tipping point is very unpredictable. It is a challenge that law
enforcement, counselors, and now educational leaders must prepare for each day. The present
generation has known a world filled with terrorist attacks, school shootings, and increased family
violence. These atrocities seem to be glorified in video games, movies, and sensationalized on
network TV. Although, mass shootings are rare, the TV and conversation coverage of the event tend to
be attractive to people who suffer from feeling isolated or insignificant in the world. Such is the case
of Seung Hui Cho, an angry and disturbed student, who shot to death 32 students and faculty of
Virginia Tech University, and wounded 17 more before killing himself. This case study will analyze
the massacre with the purpose in mind of understanding the why of the incident thereby hoping to
prevent another student from resorting to murder. Subsequent Revision to on and off campus reports
The hard, cold realities of campus vulnerabilities have made many education stakeholders review,
implement and upgrade a wide variety of solutions related to safety and security (Hatersley Gray,
2015). The Clery Act is a federal law that requires colleges to report crimes that occur on campus and
school safety policies. It also requires schools to send timely warnings to the school community when
there are known risks to public safety on campus (Clery Act, n.d.). Virginia Tech had the capability

solution for those with treatment resistant depression, and other chronic mental illnesses may be where

Furthermore, Melton (2012) states the next function in our brain is the known factor thing we have
experienced be that positive or negative, and that people will associate with these experiences that so
that we can make an informed decision. Melton (2012) further explains that our mind has a filter/safe
guard called the critical mind that analysis information and decisions basic on our beliefs. Following
this, Melton (2011) states we have our conscious mind where variables like logic, reasoning, decisions

However, the critical mind can be overloaded, where the mind cannot analysis the information being

The Movie The Pact
The ones I sympathize with When I read The Pact , I felt some connection between the characters;
Sampson Davis, George Jenkins, and Hunt Rameck. Throughout their hardship and struggles, It
encouraged me to read on. But as I continued reading on, the three main characters stood out the most.
But out of those three characters, one stood out in particular. Throughout his experiences and trials, I
could see myself in that situation. In how he felt, in the manner in how he saw things around, I could
see how I would have done the same thing myself. Dr. Hunt is someone I could relate to, someone I
could see becoming friends with. There was a few encounters that I have had that is similar to Hunt s
experiences. If I had a bad grade, I had a butt whuppin coming. Feeling pressure of doing something
criminal just to impress some people that I wasn t ever close to or even consider calling them friend.
Being lovesick for someone, wanting them back. Have her but letting her go because of school and
home complications. But the one experience that got me was when Mr. Hunt s grandmother die. Even
though I m not a doctor, I still felt the same helplessness that he felt when I saw my grandfather lying
in bed, with my grandmother crying by his bedside. The man I called papa was my grandfather, my
mentor, and my friend. Always a great example for what exceptional leader was. With noble integrity
and a unique sense of human responsibility, always taking care of others. He was always

The Consequences of Prohibition Essay
A short introduction
A lot of things happened in 1920 – USA was one of the victors in the first World War, and had a good
period. Soon that was changed and USA suffered from many things, the great crash, prohibition and
gang wars. But not only bad things happened – there was also the new deal, new cultures, new poets
and writers.
The thing i want to write about is prohibition, that was a really big deal – lots of books have been
written about this subject, why it happened, which consequences it had and so on. And that is the same
thing that i want to write about. So the question is, why did it happen, and which consequences did it

After the civil war (1861 1865) the Woman s Christian Temperance Union was founded. They did not
promote moderation or temperance but rather prohibition. Later the Prohibition party was founded in
1867, and as the name indicates it was for prohibition. The party succeeded in getting many
communities and states to outlaw producing intoxicating beverages and their greatest success was in
1919.
Why did it happen?
As i told the prohibition party had their greatest success in 1919, where they succeeded in passing the
18th Amendment to the United States Constitution. This Amendment actually outlawed production,
sale, transportation, import and export of alcohol. It was only legal when used for religious purposes.
After one year from the ratification of this article the manufacture, sale, or transportation of
intoxicating liquors within, the importation thereof into, or the exportation thereof from the United
States and all territory subject to the jurisdiction thereof for beverage purposes is hereby prohibited.
And that was what established prohibition in United States.

ASL Challenge Paper
ASL is more than a language; it is a miracle. I find myself often perplexed by the difficulty that must
have come with making a language solely from hands. It is amazing that there was a nationwide
speaking of the hands for the deaf community and anyone who is interested to learn can join in easily,
but only if they can hoop over some of the languages major challenges. In the article Why is Learning
American Sign Language a Challenge? by Professor Mike Kent, he discusses the top 5 ASL
challenges he has come across. The first challenge being social dominance patterns and attitude. This
challenge is definitely a struggle for many new learners. People think that the deaf are nothing more
than handicapped human beings that can t do normal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Patience is key.
The final challenge is that there are two types of motivations that gives people the will to learn sign
language. These people fall into 2 categories. One, instrumental motivation is for all those people that
want to benefit in there career with another language or are asked to take classes for a job. This person
will just go to pass the tests but will quickly learn and forget the language. Even in our case as
students it is technically an intellectual motivation for our degree but for many there is an actual
reason they wanted to take ASL. When there is an outside motivation people are categorized as
integratively motivated learners. These people have a significant person in their life that is deaf and
only communicates through ASL or a friend or a colleague. Their motivation is stronger and the
language will stick with them longer.
If I had to choose one of the above 5 most challenging things about ASL, my personal challenge
would be congruence and culture. As the article mentioned sometimes ASL can feel like a revolving
door that becomes too late to enter if you miss some parts for new learners. I have found myself
feeling this way often. Once a conversation starts going at (which often seem hyper speed) I feel
helpless because I don t know what s going on when I miss important parts of the conversation. I find
it also very challenging to not want to use my voice as I sign. I know deaf people I am

Christopher Innes The Historical Avant-Garde
The Historical Avant Garde expressed new ways of art and reformed the traditional sense of art.
Christopher Innes used three words that described the Avant Garde: populism, primitivism, and
philosophy. These components can be seen in the figures 1 3 that help define some known movements
of the Avant Garde. The movements that are particularly focused in these figures is Dada,
Expressionism, and Surrealism. Each image displays an aesthetic characteristic of the Avant Garde, as
well as defining what the movements stood for. In addition, the visual imagery of these figures

Primitivism held a contrast to western forms, and one of the non western forms that was seen was
spirituality. Not only this but in Murder: The Women s Hope, the characters are dressed in savage
appearance, which is not usually the typical attire in a traditional bourgeoisie play (Kokoschka 220).
This can also be seen in Figure 3, and it would explain why the women s breasts are exposed and why
the man is not wearing a shirt as well. This perspective is one of the elements of the Avant Garde, as it
is something considered new as well as going against the anti establishment of the traditional theatre.
Furthermore, the Avant Garde opposed mainstream theatre, and many of the Avant Garde movements
went against theatre. This was done by having using more interaction with their audience, creating

with political rulers and how it transitions from a weak structure to a bureaucracy that envisions a

Analysis Of Henrik Wolff s Bullet s The Brain
Imagine death. What happens in your final moments? Are you going to think about your loved ones or
just simply reminisce on one of the happiest moments of your existence? What would be your very
final thought to think? The short story, Bullet in the Brain , is a very intriguing, well articulated
fictional writing piece that captures what happens in the split second of death through the main
character Anders. Written by Tobias Wolff, the story follows a man who finds the cliché in anything
and his final thoughts of his life as a bullet is moving through his brain. Saying I enjoyed this story
would be the understatement of the century. The short story is purely brilliant and one of the most
thought provoking stories I have read in a while. The story takes place inside an old pompous bank
building. Anders, a book critic, cannot make it to the bank until right before closing time so, of course,
the line is long and the women he gets stuck waiting in line behind puts him in the worst mood
possible. Anders is a man who has critiqued the beauty out of life and in turn has let it turn him bitter.
Anders could not be any more irritated while waiting in line because the teller decides to neglect her
job to flirt with a man. Instead of taking his anger out on the bank teller, he takes it out on two ladies
in front of him who were just trying to make conversation. But in the blink of an eye, everything
changes and a plot twist occurs. Suddenly two men in ski masks are attempting

Samuel Mongeau Eel Lecture Summary
Guest Lecture Analysis: Eels by Samuel Mongeau
Samuel Mongeau s informative lecture about eels covered topics of the benefits and usage of eels in
Canadian society during the 16th century. Furthermore, Mongeau presents his lecture with a personal
but wide viewpoint on the significance of eels to Canadian history.
To begin, Mongeau acknowledges the limited research on eels as they are simultaneously dying
rapidly, with a 97% decline in the eel population since 1980. However, in the 16th century, there was
an abundance of eels in which they served multiple purposes, yet historical documents failed to take
note of these eels, for the primary focus was mainly on the fur trade. Nevertheless, eels served to be a
main survival food for the Indigenous peoples. Eels were incredibly populous along the St. Lawrence
river and they migrated seasonally during the winter months. This was optimal for survival purposes
because eels are high in fat and they were not a scarce resource at the time. Additionally, the large
population of eels helped to boost the national economy as it created an internal and external market in
Canada. In turn, this promoted the development of social institutions as the growing economy could
now afford to invest in such establishments. On the other hand, during the creation of New France 2.0,
Canada s economy substituted fur and eel trades with cod fish for they were more profitable and
valuable. This had progressed Canada into a more modern economy through ... Show more content on

How Sleep Are Capable Of Predicting Significant Health...
Numerous dimensions of sleep are capable of predicting significant health outcomes. Inadequate sleep
is a frequently explored area within research and respective associations have been drawn in regards to
its effect on both mental and physical health (Kroese, Evers, Adriaanse, Ridder, 2016). Digdon and
Howell (2008) note procrastination to be the inclination to postpone task commencement or
conclusion, wavering actions, or the demonstration of insufficient time allotment for the
accomplishment of tasks. Therefore, opting to go to bed later than primarily intended with no external
influence is termed bedtime procrastination (Kroese., et al. 2016). Reported associations between
procrastination and self regulation the determination of an individual to modify thoughts, opinions,
desires and tasks in order to achieve personally applicable ambitions have shown that procrastination
is an illustration low self regulation (Steel, 2007; cited in Korese, et al. 2016). Korese, et al. 2016,
were the first to investigate and establish a relationship between self regulation as a trait and bedtime
procrastination, in a self reported online questionnaire and survey. It was found that low self
regulation is capable of being a conceivable explanation for going to bed later than anticipated, as
individuals with low self regulation skills are habitually more sensitive to interferences or enticements

  • 2. Columbine Theory On April 20th 1999 the world was forever changed as two seniors from Columbine High School walked into their school and commenced, what is now known as, The Columbine Massacre . This act of terrorism was school violence like the world had never seen before. The two students, who were later identified as Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris, shot and killed twelve students, as well as one teacher. They injured twenty one others and three students were hurt trying to escape the massacre. Guns were not all that were used to wreck havoc on the high school. Klebold and Harris had premeditated a very strategic plan using a firebomb, that they placed three miles away from the school s campus, to divert firefighters. They also used bombs made from propane tanks, ninety nine explosives, and car bombs. [1] There intent was to create an attack that was so devastating that the entire world would be afraid by their power. Thankfully due to their lack of wiring skills, the bombs did not go off. Therefore the casualty count was far less then they had originally expected with numbers soaring to over 600. [2] When the attackers realized that their plans were foiled, they ended the massacre by taking their own lives. Many psychologists have theorized why this particular event took place, and why school violence is becoming more prevalent in today s society. Here are three different theories from three different psychologists, their psychological perspectives on school violence, and how it can ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Each colony had different religious backgrounds and different ways of making money and sustaining a stable economy. This was because of the different religious views the held by the settlers or the economic strengths and weaknesses including the geographical region. The religious views of the Southwest Colonies and New England colonies hugely contrasted. The dominant religion in Spain at the time was Catholicism. Catholicism gave the Spaniards a common identity and allowed them to explore much faster than the English who were experiencing a religious civil war at the time. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 70. There are a few reasons why this view struggles to adequately explain the prophecy of the seventy weeks. The actual time span of the week varies between the time periods. If God was trying to reveal anything to Daniel about when these things would take place than a good assumption would be that the weeks would be similar in scope of time. Another issue that would have to be addressed by proponents of this view is how the first advent of Christ solves everything that is to take place in verse 24 of Daniel 9. The last thing that needs to be answered is why does the destruction of Jerusalem take place before the sixty nine weeks if it is clearly lined out in the prophecy to be after the sixty nine weeks? (verse 26) The Covenantal View The covenantal view is a view that also holds that the time periods are symbolic. This view also begins at the decree given by Cyrus in Ezra 1 after the 70 year captivity around 538 B.C. It has sixty nine weeks from that date leading up to the death of Christ around 33 A.D. at which point the seventieth week kicks off and continues until the apocalypse. This view has serious issues with the periods of time not being equal. The last week for instance has lasted for the previous 2000 years and is continuing through the present time. The sixty nine weeks from the decree of Cyrus to the death of Christ equal about eight years per week. The strength of this view is that it is trying to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Leisure Activitie Social Disengagement Theory Objective The goal of this presentation is for you to understand that leisure programs are not just about the activity itself, but about the social connections it provides for the attendees. Older age is a transitional period when people experience changes not only in physical health but also in social roles that can influence opportunities for social participation. Social connectedness is a key component of healthy aging that should be promoted in recreational programming for older adults. Key Messages Social disengagement theory is a classic social psychological view which holds that older adults isolation results from a gradual and irreversible abandonment of social roles, narrowing role sets, and the weakening of existing social bonds. This point of view is now often contrasted with Activity and Continuity theories which note that older adults who adjust to later life transitions by remaining socially active are happier and healthier. This is an exciting transition as policies and programs begin to incorporate the idea of social connectedness, rather than merely occupying the time of older adults. Leisure ... Leisure programs can also act as a support system for older adults, as well as provide accountability. For example, many older adults who live alone have poor nutrition because they do not enjoy eating alone, community dinners provide an opportunity to engage in conversation, but it also increases the chance of the individual eating a proper and balanced meal. Additionally, leisure programs can provide resources for individuals to find and receive the care they need. • 36. Analysis Of Henrik Wolff s Bullet s The Brain Imagine death. What happens in your final moments? Are you going to think about your loved ones or just simply reminisce on one of the happiest moments of your existence? What would be your very final thought to think? The short story, Bullet in the Brain , is a very intriguing, well articulated fictional writing piece that captures what happens in the split second of death through the main character Anders. Written by Tobias Wolff, the story follows a man who finds the cliché in anything and his final thoughts of his life as a bullet is moving through his brain. Saying I enjoyed this story would be the understatement of the century. The short story is purely brilliant and one of the most thought provoking stories I have read in a while. The story takes place inside an old pompous bank building. Anders, a book critic, cannot make it to the bank until right before closing time so, of course, the line is long and the women he gets stuck waiting in line behind puts him in the worst mood possible. Anders is a man who has critiqued the beauty out of life and in turn has let it turn him bitter. Anders could not be any more irritated while waiting in line because the teller decides to neglect her job to flirt with a man. Instead of taking his anger out on the bank teller, he takes it out on two ladies in front of him who were just trying to make conversation. But in the blink of an eye, everything changes and a plot twist occurs. Suddenly two men in ski masks are attempting ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 40. Samuel Mongeau Eel Lecture Summary Guest Lecture Analysis: Eels by Samuel Mongeau Samuel Mongeau s informative lecture about eels covered topics of the benefits and usage of eels in Canadian society during the 16th century. Furthermore, Mongeau presents his lecture with a personal but wide viewpoint on the significance of eels to Canadian history. To begin, Mongeau acknowledges the limited research on eels as they are simultaneously dying rapidly, with a 97% decline in the eel population since 1980. However, in the 16th century, there was an abundance of eels in which they served multiple purposes, yet historical documents failed to take note of these eels, for the primary focus was mainly on the fur trade. Nevertheless, eels served to be a main survival food for the Indigenous peoples. Eels were incredibly populous along the St. Lawrence river and they migrated seasonally during the winter months. This was optimal for survival purposes because eels are high in fat and they were not a scarce resource at the time. Additionally, the large population of eels helped to boost the national economy as it created an internal and external market in Canada. In turn, this promoted the development of social institutions as the growing economy could now afford to invest in such establishments. On the other hand, during the creation of New France 2.0, Canada s economy substituted fur and eel trades with cod fish for they were more profitable and valuable.
