Physics 1a Summary
Energy can be transferred through conduction, convection, and radiation. Conduction involves particle collisions, convection involves the movement of heated liquids and gases, and radiation involves the transfer of energy through electromagnetic waves. There are many forms of energy including light, sound, gravitational potential, electrical, kinetic, chemical, elastic, thermal, and nuclear. Efficiency is a measure of useful energy transferred compared to total energy input. Fossil fuels like coal, oil, and gas are non-renewable but have short start up times, while renewable sources like wind, geothermal, hydroelectric, tidal, solar and nuclear do not produce greenhouse gases but have other disadvantages depending on the source.

Purposes of EIA
EIA is a process with several important purposes, which can be categorized as follows:

To aid in the formation of development EIA can be of great benefit to them, since it can provide a framework for considering location and design issues and environmental issues in parallel. It can be an aid to the formulation of developmental actions, indicating areas where the project can be modified to minimize or eliminate altogether the adverse impacts on the environment.
